Amazing place for your child. Best help for the parents and the child.

Alafanso Lamson Haid

Everything you expect or everything done satisfied..

Our daughter Isabella has spent almost 3 months of her life here battling a lymphatic condition that nobody thought was medically possible to survive. The doctors here and nursing team have done the best job possible that any other hospital could've done for her. She turned the corner and showed everybody that giving up is not an option even when all of the odds are against her. We could never be more thankful for Randall's children hospital for everything they have done for her. She would have not made it anywhere else and we are forever in your debt.

Anna Barrett

Friendly staff. Visited a friend and his family here a few months ago. They were well looked after.

An infant family member was booted out of PICU because they "needed the bed". The transition was the worst most unorganized circus ever. The baby ended up experiencing withdrawal symptoms from being jerked off of his IV too quickly. Repeatedly asked the parents for info that THEY should have known. COMPLETELY irritated and would never recommend.

This place took such great care of my little boy. Every staff member was caring and efficient. Could not have been in better hands. Never want to go back but if we do have another emergency I'll never go anywhere else.

Ashley Maenza

Quick entry. Specifically for kids so there isn't any question as to if they know how to do their jobs. (Been to regular ER with my child and it sucks. Never get proper care)

Even if you dead by sitting there they dont care. Of course they care about money but they dont do their job right my son is so sick and these people make me wait 5 hrs. I thought It was going to be helpful to come here. Poor people and poor kids this is so sad.

My daughter (11) had to have an appendectomy last week (Nov of 2017) The atmosphere was welcoming and the overall decor comforting. From the moment we arrived the staff was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Randall's made a potentially traumatic experience positive and even fun for my daughter. Thank you.

Awesome Facility, Staff, Dr's, our children all have specialists here and it is way better than hospitals that I have been to before. 5 Stars doesn't even do it justice.

I am so impressed and grateful for the wonderful team here. All of the doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff in general have been so great. My daughter got here on Sunday for staph scaled skin syndrome and now she is going home today so much better. It was so scary for us when this all started but with their help she is doing wonderfully now. They have done so much to help make her better and keep us happy while we have been here! Thank you Randall Children's hospital!

We had to bring our little one to the pediatric ER. Randall was chosen for us by our child's pediatrician. Our experience was a good one. Everyone we met was kind and helpful. Doctors and nusres took very good care of our little one. They listened, answered all my questions, involved me in my childs care, they made sure my child felt safe and they showed her compassion. Great job. The patient transport and ultrasound tech did super with her. They too involved us in our child's care and didn't mind that we stayed right by our her side. The ultrasound tech was so patient. The receptionist and even the valet at the front door of the ER was kind and helpful. Everyone we interacted with was good to us here. So, we like to say thank you to the following: The valet, receptionist, patient services, doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping, and kitchen/dining staff. Thank you all for your amazing care, compassion and kindness.

My son went in with a collapsed lung. He was met by 4 doctors at once and not a string of people. Surgery went well. The Staff on the 8th floor is fantastic. Laura the day nurse is extremely helpful and Patrick the night nurse was described by my son as really cool. My son is a musician and his face completely lit up when they brought him a guitar to play. My son is making a fast recovery and the hospital is fantastic.

Really friendly, took my son in and we were in and out in about 30 min and I didn't feel like they were making me feel like I didn't know anything about my child.

Everyone at Randall is amazing and wonderful! The amount of high tech medical expertise is outstanding and world renowned. They have specialized teams for every medical issue and subspecialty and that speciality allows Randall to soar high above any other Children's hospital by far! Not only have we been a patient at Randall for my daughter, but I have worked at Emanuel for 13 years and know first hand how amazing Randall is and would not take my child anywhere else.

Very nice doctors an nurse's

Jissel Deloya

The waiting time was horrible (but I understand that it’s flu season and my son wasn’t the only patient) :) The doctor who attended my son was doctor Alexandre R Picard! He was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining our sons diagnosis instead of rushing on to the next patient. He answered all of our questions in depth and made my sons experience great! Also, all the nurses and staff rocked!

LeeAnn Foster

Our family had a great experience there, they tried their best to accommodate us while our son was in discomfort. The doctor from the ER even called us himself the next day to check on our son. Very impressed with their services!

Jordan Lindsey

My son had to have emergency surgery while I was in a different state and the doctors and nurses skyped with me to make sure that I was included in the decision making and were all very patient with our situation.

Anavelia Pineda-Cisneros

My daughter was admitted for 3 weeks and the whole staff was wonderful with my little girl and with us all. Loved the attention to all the kids and activities they had, made the stay not so scary or stressful. They attend to you right away and do a thorough check, I love this hospital. I will always bring my children here above any other hospitals.

Becky Harle

Excellent care for children. They are very good at making a hospital stay as kid friendly as possible. Staff are amazing and skilled.

Christopher Cramer

Terrible experience, was there for 5hours - just as we were about to be transferred to a room they gave it away to someone else. Treated very poorly condisending and rude staff- litterely kicked us out!!! Told us we would have no nurse or midwife and would have to go to er and deliver our baby there. This was my wife's first choice after months of research and they treated us like garbage.

Northwest Girl

I felt henpecked and isolated, and my questions were not answered.

I have been in the Rehab clinic and I was very unsatisfied, in fact they sent me home before I was ready. The doctors were nice at first but they grouped behind my back and released me after 3 days. I would much rather be at Doernbechers where the doctors and nurses actually want to help you. I was highly unsatisfied and hope I never have to go there again. In fact I helped myself walk and one of the doctors there said that he had helped me to walk and said that he was the one to do that. What they could do better is work on finding the individual needs of the patient and really care about them, see where they have come from because without bonding with the patient and no great bedside manner you have nothing. I again would rather go to Doernbechers.

Best kids hospital ever and very beautiful the way it decorated favorite place was the kids garden.

Best rooms I've seen at a children's hospital. Couch in room opens to double bed. Staff has been consistently awesome over the last 5 years. Easy to park and get to in all weather and traffic conditions.

Great staff, and great service. The only thing concerning is the parking lot is not equipped with surveillance cameras. Vehicles break ins is concerning. It will be very helpful to install cameras in parkig lots.

My 8 year old son had Brain slSurgery By Dr. Monica Wheby. We we're in PICU for one night and regular room the second night. I can not say enough about the Doctors and nurses and the Team of people who were there to make this scary procedure as positive as possible. Anyone in Search of a pediatric Neurosurgeon Dr. When is who you want and can trust. I will say the one and only negative was the pre registration that told me that there was no where for me the Mom to sleep, but in a chair. Not the case. Fold out beds with pillows and blankets not comfortable but this wasn't about me. So all in all a 5

My expierience at randalls childres hospital was terrible. First of all we were pushed to have our child induced at what they thought was 38 weeks because they thought the baby was to small for her age and then it turned out she was 36 weeks was why so she was induced prematurely. The birthing staff was good and attentive but after i had given birth to my daughter they had transferred me to the post pardom center where everything went horrible. The staff was very opinioniated and if you didnt agree with their views they would argue and push them on you constantly to the point that we had to request a different nurse three different times. The first nurse was horrible i requested to pump breast milk and she would just argue and say there was no reason when i only wanted to in order to appropriately measure how much milk i was giving to my baby after arguing with the nurse throughout the night I finally became fed up and requested a new one. other nurses afterwards had said that i was giving my child plenty of milk which also turned out wrong once they had weighed my baby. The staff seemed very puzzled why the baby was losing weight and finally by our third day realized that she wasnt able to suck well enough from my breast. So they finally aloud me to pump my breast milk and my baby finally was eating well enough but because of the trouble before and her not getting enough food she had to stay even longer. The entire time there we had barely had any help except for when we requested a new nurse and it was one of the head nurses but other than them everyone was very rude and pushy i will never have a child again at this hospital and would advise most to seek a different one as well for when they are giving birth to their child.

The staff was a mixed bag ranging from a couple of notably wonderful nurses, to unprofessional doctors from hell. They hire contractors, so billing is a nightmare compared to an integrated system like Mayo Clinic. They won't listen to parents. They use HIPAA as a catch-all excuse to separate you from your child, even though other hospital systems have simple processes that allow parents to remain with their children in more situations/settings. They just generally refuse to work WITH the parents. If this is "the best place for infants" in Portland, than Portland has some work to do, because this place sucks. This place was so bad, I will pay the airfare and lodging to go to Mayo Clinic for our next birth, that's how bad our experience at RCH was.

All the doctors and nurses and staff are amazing! We got to stay with our baby the entire time. Decor is cheerful, patients have activities to do and don't have to be stuck in their room. They make it more fun and less dreary hospital-like, without compromising on medical care. Highly, highly recommend!

Worst experience. The last couple of times I had to bring my kids to this ER, I wasn’t impressed by neither the nurses or doctor. My most recent visit tonight with my son was a waste of a 40 min drive. They were super busy which I get, it’s an ER, but we waited in a room for over an hour and a half and no doctor had even came to lay eyes on him. His nurse never came back to check on him or to even acknowledge that they were busy and that we would be waiting for a while. It would of made a difference if they just simply acted like they cared. My son and I ended up leaving without being seen and they could care less. They didn’t even encourage us to stay, etc. You bets to believe I will be filling a complaint and choosing a different children’s ER to go to next time. I also work in an emergency room and know how the behind the scenes work which makes this even more frustrating...... Randall you guys were a MAJOR let down tonight. You guys REALLY need to work on your compassion and custermer service. I give you a BIG F...

My daughter was sick and admitted to Randall’s for three nights. Dr. Loeffler and the sixth floor nurses were excellent. They eased my mind and treated us with compassion. They also listened to us. I love how they engaged with my daughter. When she spoke, they listened. My daughter is now her rambunctious self, dancing around the house. Thank you for everything!

This children emergency is just amaizing. People are working really fast and professional way. Doctors and nurses are great. The place itself is modern and looks very well, it has toys for kids in the waiting area and cafe nearby.

What more can I say about this place more than the word, AMAZING! My son was will take care of and my wife and I were empowered to be a part of the team as parents. DOCTORS - The doctors do not steamroll you, but provide informed consent whenever possible. I do not share all the same opinions as the doctors, however they listened to my perspective respectfully and offered their perspective in a polite way. NURSES- On our floor (NICU), we received great care from the nurses and even made a few friends out of the deal! Our specialized parenting skills came with their aid. PT/OT/SP- Amazing group of people that know how to speak to babies. They also empowered us to be able to massage, position and work with feeding so that our son could recover quicker! They also have great personalities to boot! I would say that this hospital should receive a full five star review because of their kindness, care and empowerment. My perspective is a bit skewed since I've only been on the second floor, however if the second floor is like more of the floors, I would feel safe leaving my child in their hands.

This hospital is AWESOME when my three month old had seizures they checked her in right away and they didn't rest until they learnt she had DiGeorge Syndrome and gave her the calcium to stop her seizures, I loved their care and Dr. Pasley was wonderful and compassionate.

This place is so caring. They do there very best to make you feel comfortable and cared for 100% of the time. The rooms are are very nice also. They have a big window with a view of the city.

Everyone who cared for our son was awesome! Friendly, pleasant, professional, and personable. Thank you, Randall Children's!

Randall Children's staff worked so well with our 2 year old. Dr. Kyser repaired his VSD quickly and our son was running around 12 hours later, like nothing happened! The entire nursing, doctor, and volunteer staff made my incredibly shy, standoffish child feel SO comfortable and safe. We drove 2 hours to be cared for by this fantastic group and will absolutely do it again, if needed.

Dr Monica Wehby was sent from God himself!! My daughter Lexi suffered for 3 years of severe pain and other severe side effects of a tethered spinal cord and nobody could help her until we met DR Wehby!! We are just over a month out and my daughter is 100% better. Thank u from the bottom of our hearts

SHANI KARJALAINEN

I thought the nurses, child life specialist, doctors, and surgeon were really sweet, caring, and they did really well taking care of me after my surgery. I highly recommend it!

Kristy Williams

Brought my daughter into the ER with a 103.8 fever after two hours. Her fever reduction meds finally kicked in as we got there (we live an hour away). She was still running a fever but it was no longer high. All of my concerns were immediately dismissed and the ER doctor didn’t even listen to her lungs or touch her at all. Told me it must be the flu (no tests done, nothing offered to her). When I asked for some sort of evaluation I was brushed off and acted like I was overreacting. The next day her fever was 104.1 with meds again, took her to a different hospital where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. I know there are good people who work here but the experience has left me not wanting to trust this ER with my children’s health in emergency situations. I understand this can happen but she was visibly displaying signs of pneumonia and if they would have done some sort of evaluation she could have been treated sooner.

My son went in for day surgery today, and all I have to say is that I felt that the care he received felt like it was given with genuine love and compassion all around, and that means everything to me.

Took 3+ hours to get my daughter an eye antibiotic. Two girls both sick, one with an ear infection that arrived an hour or more after us left before us. My daughter was extremely tired, they forgot to bring us juice we requested for her too. This was children's emergency. My little brother is currently on the fourth floor and we've already ran into some problems with nurses and communication. Wish they had more interpeters for doctors for spanish speakibg families as well. So parents understood what was being done with their child who has cancer.

Danielle McFarland

Our littlest was having difficulty breathing and another clinic wanted to give her a 3rd antibiotic in the matter of 6 weeks. We asked for them to do a consult with a Dr and they decided to send us to Randall Children's Hospital. The staff, nurses and Doctors were all awesome! They assessed our daughter's situation and diagnosed her correctly. They kept her until her breathing treatments got her out of the woods and sent us home with a regimen to keep her safe. No antibiotics. We believe that antibiotics have their place but were frustrated that it was the go to solution for this other clinic. So glad Randall Children's Hospital is staffed with amazing people who know their stuff!

ThreeBirdBeard

This was the best possible experience for my son to have to go to the hospital, Iron Man and Portland Superhero Group came to visit the kids and hand them toys. Wonderful people.
