I had to come leave a good review. The other comments had us worried about coming here but the entire staff was compassionate and helpful. My husband was seen quickly and efficiently by all.

Worst wait times. Understaffed on a Friday night. I come in for suspected blood clot& WAIT OVER 3 HOURS TO BE SEEN& told that if someone is worse than me then they go first!! Dr was prompt when I FINALLY got to a room.

I was seen by an ER doctor at willamette falls hospital because I was in an automobile accident and had began experiencing an onset of symptoms several hours after the accident. An X-ray and minor exam was performed and I was diagnosed with minor whiplash. Upon discharge the doctor finally came in with his instructions, the whole time previous to this during the visit i was being tended to my the nursing staff. He told me that because of the onset of symptoms were delayed he believed that my injuries weren't severe. He then immediately blurted out that no pain medications would be prescribed to me. This made me feel like I was being accused of being a pill seeker. This made me feel like the ER staff wasn't taking my injuries seriously. I wouldn't have sought care if I believed my symptoms weren't severe enough to where I could treat myself at home. I get it, the doctors have their hands tied behind their backs by administration above them and the federal government. I have been told by other staff members that doctors are in fear of losing their jobs by prescribing these medications. But I wasn't there for that, I needed treatment and sought the reason behind the symptoms I was experiencing. Had other imaging been performed at the time of this visit it could have saved me months ineffective treatments and months of pain. Instead they followed protocol and deemed since my symptoms weren't immediate that my injuries weren't that serious and decided not to move forward with any other tests. At the end of all this 2 discs in my cervical spine were replaced last year and another disc will have to be fused in the near future. I am disgusted by the treatment I received and the accusation the ER doctor made. I feel like instead of receiving proper care, protocol and policy prevented me of getting the treatment I needed. I would highly recommend to anyone because of the treatment I received to seek care at another facility outside of the Providence system.

They pick and choose who to take back first even if your the only one in the waiting room they will only take the people who come in after you first and make you wait hrs. I took my fiance there a few weeks ago when she was having a miscarriage and after waiting 2 hrs I went up and ask when they were going to take her back and they said that they will as soon as a room opened up. So I said that one has opened a few times but you guys just keep taking everyone that has come in after us first and that when we got there we were the only ones in there before they came in and they said that they had more life threatening problems then what my fiance had at the time. So we left and went to kaiser sunnyside emergency room and they took us in immediately and told us if providence ER would of taken us in right away that the baby could have been saved. So I recommend that no one go to that hospital............

was in and out & staff was so sweet! if they would just pick up the emergency room phone (seeing as I have a question about my treatment), it would be a 5 star!

Spent 3 hours waiting for a wound to be stitched up. When I asked the receptionist how long the wait was gonna be, she told me I had been there 40 minutes less than I had and told me a bed would open up soon. I waited another hour before simply calling a different urgent care to see if they would take me. Got to leave this emergency room HAVING NOT BEEN SEEN BY A DOCTOR AFTER NEARLY 3 HOURS. WHILE NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM. And no one seemed phased by the fact that I bled through 2 bandages or care at all. Just a disgusting experience. I'll drive an extra 30 minutes next time there's an emergency... At least I might live.

Absolutely abhorrent!!! Patients sent (Dr wanted us to take ambulance, can't afford due to it being out of pocket) from immediate care, due to the severity of illness, still sitting after a hour and a half!!!

Went in to the ER at 2am for a kidney stone attack. After sitting in the lobby for an hour, I was informed a child came in before me and I would need to wait to be seen. Apparently only one doc works nights. Then I spent an hour in the room being checked on by the nurse. The doctor finally came in after I'd been there for over 2 hours. I received pain killers, had a CT scan and was sent home with 2 sets of pills. I was there for over 3.5 hours and was charged $5k with 60 cumulative facetime with the doctor. This was my first and only ER experience and I don't understand why its even called "Emergency". I'll take my chances at another hospital if any issues arise. It may also suck, but I'll take my chances. This is a GARBAGE ER.

As a mentally ill patient (OCD/panic disorder), my expectations for physical health doctors are always fairly low, and Providence Willamette Fall's emergency department continually has met these expectations. A few years ago, I came in for a completely different reason and was subsequently diagnosed with a UTI and given antibiotics, despite not having any symptoms of a UTI (and a test proving that I didn't have one the day after at my primary care.) I didn't think it could get worse than that, but my visit Thursday morning proved that it could, in fact, get worse. I want to preface this by saying I have utmost respect for medical professionals and understand that their job in an ER is to treat patients at immediate risk. However, I feel that the staff at PWF has ignored the part of their training that teaches bedside manner — especially for mentally ill patients. I came in Thursday because of a severe panic attack, I was incredibly shaken up because of the physical symptoms I was experiencing — but mostly was aware of the fact that my crisis was mental health oriented. I had not slept more than a couple hours over the previous week and had not ate properly either. Instead of being met with patient and compassionate care, I was treated as if they would rather be anywhere else. I was discharged without realizing it (I was still smack dab in the middle of a panic attack), which didn't give me enough time to find a ride. My nurse, Marc, attempted kindness but was visibly annoyed when I needed a few minutes to contact a ride. Worst, though, was my doctor: Dr. Skog. While he is obviously extremely medically competent, he is perhaps the worst I've seen in regards to bedside manner. Upon standing to use the restroom, I was met with overwhelming dizziness and alerted a nurse — who then sent Skog back to me. Without explanation, he insisted I follow him and walked at a pace I could not keep up with, not bothering to slow down when he realized I, a patient he knew was incredibly dizzy and anxious, failed to keep with his pace. Instead, he kept insisting I "come on" until we turned into a room where he tested my blood pressure. I understand now the point was to test my blood pressure after standing, but dragging a dizzy, panicky patient in front of a room full of staff staring at her with no explanation as to why is an absolutely terrible idea. This experience was incredibly embarrassing and anxiety inducing. When I contacted a mental health professional with Riverstone following my visit, I mentioned this experience to her. Providence Willamette Falls appears to have such a terrible reputation for treating the mentally ill that my provider (who was absolutely lovely) literally LAUGHED when I told her where this occured, stating that this is standard behavior for their practice. I have no doubt in my mind that PWF is competent in treating most illness (barring the woman who tried to give me antibiotics for a non-existent UTI), but if you are mentally ill and in a crisis I HEAVILY recommend you either visit Unity in Portland, Kaiser Sunnyside, or Milwaukie Providence. The majority of the PWF Staff is clearly incapable of compassion. You don't have to coddle your patients, but I implore you re-evaluate your perspective — my case is not isolated and that isn't something you should be proud of. * note: I do want to say that the worst of this day's experience was with Dr. Skog and the nurse Marc. Most others I interacted with, especially the tech who did my ECG, were prompt and kind.

Go somewhere else they keep you waiting forever no matter how old you are or what's wrong dont go wasting your time

It is sufficient for being a local ER, some of the staff are not LGBTQ friendly though.

try to go in and get an IV because of dehydration and throwing up for a couple days they just want to give anti nausea shot. No IV when push comes to shove was going to leave and they finally decided to put IV in me to rehydrate. And that's all I needed and wanted when I came in but they had to play games. Doctors and staff need to learn to listen to patients stop sitting around checking boxes just to get paid

I am never coming back. I would rather drive to another state than be talked down to and interrupted repeatedly by the receptionists.
