As you know, we do not usually stop to give feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital is classified in the category of Children\'s hospital.
I work as a nurse in another health care system and I just have to say, Doernbecher is doing things right. My daughter is being seen by the pediatric dermatology department and had a procedure done today. They're timely, knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough. From the check in desk to the nurses and doctors, everyone was on their game. Every work flow seems to keep the pediatric patient in mind. Absolutely the best of the best.
I have been a patient for a little over a year now and always look forward to coming to my appointments.
Dealing with them the last two months has been absolute hell. I had to request my child’s medical records so many times I lost count. Almost two years ago we said yes to brain surgery, unfortunately they can’t seem to schedule a test, so here we are two years later. Zero progress. I wish we had never gone here to begin with. This hospital has wasted years of my child’s life.
Every time we come here, service is amazing; the volunteers, and staff are so wonderful! My son has had really wonderful doctors and nurses throughout this crazy journey. If you're going to be stuck in a hospital, I pray it's this one!
Saved my son’s life. Will be forever grateful. Excellent, collaborative, compassionate care.
I never want to have to go back. The best staff there!! All very caring always smiling and making sure we were all right. Im very thankful for every person there.
My son has been coming here since he was hours old always the best, lots of caring doctors.
Most amazing hospital I have ever seen! Just amazing care, accommodations, people everything!
We always get friendly and polite service here. The nurses are especially wonderful. We've been to the ER, the surgery center and the pediatric rehabilitation center.
So very grateful for them, they saved my sons life. Great and amazing teams of nurses and doctors at PICU. God bless and Thank you all so much.
Dr. Baines at the diabetes center of OHSU has changed my son's life by helping him manage his T1D. She is excellent with Omnipod statistical readings which help analyze how he is managing his BG. Dr. Baines is sensitive, caring and a genius.
An AMAZING hospital. My child was treated very well, so was I. I really recommend this hospital!
They have helped my granddaughter get thru the 3 months or her life! Best experience ever with exceptional nurses and drs and staff
My daughter is currently here and everyone has been VERY amazing to not only her, but to us as well. ❤
Great service as consistent as can be across providers. Been taking care of my two special needs sons since they were born.
My son almost died on Mother's day 2019 and Doernbecher saved his life.... They also made mistakes that will be with us both for the rest of our lives. It's almost nauseating to give such a poor review about a place that saved my son's life and other children's lives, but what happened cannot be overlooked. I would recommend never allowing your minor child to be alone with staff... Doing so will prevent what happened to my child... You never know what someone will do/say to your kid when you are not in the room. It is important to say that there are wonderful people working at OHSU that do fantastic work, we just happen to have had encounters with some staff that are substandard in their treatment. Parents only want what's best for their children.
My 16 month old daughter had to have an MRI and had to be sedated. Nurse Megan was a dream. She crushed it.
We come here weekly and it's easy to maneuver. There's plenty of accessibility parking and a complimentary valet service.
Arguably one of the best children's hospitals in the country, but the staff is stretched too thin. I asked three times over a seven hour period for a child life specialist to help explain her surgery to my worried daughter. Never got one.
My husband was born with a heart defect that required open-heart surgery. Everyone here - from the receptionists to the surgical team - was so amazingly kind and compassionate. I would not wish this ordeal on anyone, but I would recommend OHSU to everyone!
We ended up having to stay at the hospital for 6 weeks the staff was amazing everyone i met was amazing for our time there.
Very nice, and keep you informed about everything at all times. And the waiting room is pretty comfortable
It looks like I'm one of the few who did not have a great experience with this hospital. I should clarify that the nursing staff were wonderful. The doctors and residents, not so wonderful. Never saw my child's doc during our 3 day stay after surgery, only an assortment of residents who were strangers to us. The rooms were small and the fridge in the family louge was rank with the odor of rotten food. The coffee was awful and the food was too expensive. We are an extremely poor family, and right from our pre op appointments we were told the hospital stay (after major kidney surgery) would be only one night. This was the second surgery (a re-do) so we knew it should be longer. But the pressure was intense to get out of the hospital asap. Thankfully the nurses understood, and helped us stay a little longer. Maybe our economic status had nothing to do with it, but I felt we were being booted out because of it. My child went home (more than an hour away) in pain and with the impression that she wasn't important to her health care provider.
Nurses & staff really care for the kids they treat here! Very compassionate! Plus, i work here & love it
Thee best kids hospital i have ever been to
VERY NICE PLACE. EVERYONE IS ALWAYS SO NICE. I HATE HOSPITALS THOUGH.
everything is amazing exepct the location
Very efficient and help where ever they can very pleasent to work with
Excellent medical professionals. Up-to-date equipment. The combination of young and seasoned doctors makes for a great combination of fresh info and tried and true knowledge
DCH is on a beautiful campus, with great views from nearly every window. The campus is quite large, and can be confusing to navigate the first few times visiting. Valet parking is available. The staff is very attentive and will help you find your way around, sometimes they know you're lost before you do! It is very clean, with special care taken to slow the spread of kiddos germs. The artwork, signage, and colors all contribute to a very comforting, child friendly environment. There are many places to get food, from a ready-to-eat quick bite, to a hot and fresh cafeteria meal. The medical staff is amazing. They can adapt their approaches to the children's age and medical status with ease. DCH continues to grow and evolve with the ever changing medical climate.
They are the best; would go anywhere else to help me family.
Wonderful people here.
Really nice nurses and doctors and some really good Starbucks. If you want to go sightseeing and see the full house looking parts of Portland, just go on the tram.
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was caring and attentive. They were very supportive and made sure all of our questions were answered. We would recommend anyone that needed care for their child to go here.
They have been so good to my son who is fighting cancer
Have spent several weeks at Doernbechers with my newborn and the care he has received has been exceptional. I have never experienced a hospital with such caring, kind, helpful, compassionate nurses. They have been nothing but amazing and made this difficult time in my life feel not so difficult. I'll never consider taking my child anywhere else. Thank you so much to the wonderful nurses of 10 North, your absolutely amazing and I'm thankful for the care and compassion you have shown and continue to show my baby boy!
Whatever you do don't owe them money because they will put you out on the street as fast as they are willing to help you.
Very nice hospital for kids.Amazing service and Staff.
Extremely disappointed our experience so far and the worst now part is we still have to go back and see them as there is no other choice for us. My toddler, who is two, needs a special test run that can only be performed by one doctor at OHSU in the muscular neurology department. We scheduled our appointment two months out, and we had to fast our toddler until 1 PM for this test. We went in to get the test done and they took him in the back to get him ready for sedation. They blew two of his veins trying to get an IV, but couldn’t succeed in getting it. They were trying and his shoulder as the nurse came in and informed us our appointment have been canceled because the doctor wasn’t even there. The doctor has a family emergency the night before and we were never called. And apparently the sedation team was never called as well. My 2 year old was screaming and crying from IV attempts and being hungry. We all left in tears. I waited over 2 weeks for a resolution. I called the hospital to find out how this happened. I received a letter saying they looked into it and hopefully it will never happen again... that’s it. I called to get him rescheduled and asked for a morning apt, because we already had fasted him the first time unnecessarily because of their mistake. Was called today and told the doctor will not see him for an earlier appointment and we have to fast him again. If there was any one else I could go to for this test, I absolutely would. The treatment of their patients is very poor. And I hate that I have to put my 2 year old in their service again
Best place in the world!! They do amazing work with my daughter. Trying to figure her out...
Great place, love staying there, excellent service.
Absolutely wonderful ! Superhero staff and calming atmosphere. A+
We are all so overwhelmed by the care the PICU staff have given to my family. Your selfless service has gone unnoticed. You hire the best and we are so grateful for all of them. Thank you for the love you've shown and the care you've provided to our son, Hezekiah. God bless you all!
I took my daughter there for speech therapy for 3 months. The therapist was excellent. However the bills is horrible. For a multi billion dollar hospital it seems no one there is able to handle someone who was double insurance coverage. As of 3/19/2019 they have still been unable to bill my primary insurance. Only the secondary. OSHU sent the bill to a collection agency even though they never billed my primary insurance. One I called them to ask them why I was sent to a collection agency they told me they would try to rebuild the primary insurance. Today I get a letter telling me they are unsure of how to bill my primary insurance. Even though they have a copy of my insurance card, and a director phone number to the Health Trust that manages my plan. This has been going on for 6 months. If OSHU cannot properly bill insurance why would you want you trust them with your health? Trust me. You want to avoid this place at all cost. Imagine going there for a life or death situation, and even though they saved your life and you had insurance to pay the bill they were unable to bill the insurance because someone there does not know how do their job so now you Are spending every moment of your time trying to get this mess work out or worse sent to a collection agencywere sent to a collection agency. That is a nightmare you’re looking forward to if you even think about going here.
They help me out throgh a lot of difficult sutuations. They helped me and my dad they are super nice and there staff are 2. When I was little I could not walk right and they were the ones who helped me walk right. When my dad was born he had lamona and he had to go there and they help his mom and his dad get through this rogh time just like my mom and my dad
My autistic son Paul Denino has been coming here for years he has a rare facial disfigurement so we spend A bunch of our time here and its been wonderful always makes him smile
I’ve met many people, children & adults, who have been here and were extremely satisfied. Unfortunately it was my turn to visit with my child. I can’t say enough good things about this hospital. I absolutely am so pleased with everything here, my heart is full and they truly took the best care of my daughter. Thank you so much!
The building is amazing, but the staff, nurses and doctors is what makes this place so incredible. I couldn't have wished for better people to help with my family through our daughter's surgery. To sit in the waiting room and watch as each family was cared for was such a beautiful thing. Thank you.
