Very helpful with an odd but urgent eye problem. The doctor made several phone calls to consult and help me since I am traveling for the holiday. On this holiday of thanksgiving, I am very appreciative!

Ok I get it. If you read the other reviews they go from 1star to 4 or 5. Here's all I can say about our experience here. We have always found the staff here helpful and friendly, from the ladies collecting bedding to the doctor trying to help you. Its a tough call as a patient, if we don't hear what we want then the hospital is at fault. We have two choices in this area Columbia or Seaside Providence and I would run as fast as I could from Seaside! The majority of the staff here. would be better suited working for NAPA Auto parts unfriendly, not helpful, and incompetent! From the clerks to the doctors who make wrong decisions or none at all. Now I see this, not as the patient but being with my wife and observe it as a spectator. I don't know what the other people experienced while at Columbia Memorial but we have only experienced a facility that seems to care and goes the extra mile.

Horrible place.

Don't go here.

The offices in the hospital are horrible. I have been to a few of them due to a few different medical conditions. The front staff is rude. The girl at the heart doctor desk that says she was a supervisor was rude and argued with me when I stated my doctor told me to go. Other times when I have to call they are all rude. That’s if they answer. I feel like I am an inconcieanceinconvenience not a patient. Don’t even get me started on my lady doctor. The front argues with each other constantly. Then that same useless ‘supervisor’ comes in and raises her voice I can’t believe it. In lookin at the website person centered care is ridiculous. That’s only if they mean person yelling, rude care.

Don't waste your time. Went in for abdominal swelling and they sent me away after blood work and urine sample. Told me to see my primary care physician. Still having the same problem and now I have to go elsewhere. My primary doctor said I'm just gaining weight and sent me on my way also. I am feeling like nobody cares while I have something horrible happening. I'll be going to urgent care tonight to see if I can get answers but I'll probably have to go to Portland. After gping to urgent care for answers, they spoke with my primary Dr and he told them he was waiting on pap results (assuming abdominal swelling was cervical cancer) Urgent care sent me on my way without any help or imaging. She said there is clearly fluid in my stomach. I'm undecided on if I will go back to this hospital and demand an xray or ct scan, or travel 2 hours to Portland, where they actually try to diagnose and treat a medical issue. I'm now 3 weeks into this issue with no answers. Started noticing swelling around Valentine's day. Can't get help from ANYWHERE. extremely frustrated. All I can think is if I die, my family needs to file a wrongful death suit. I have had to resort to self diagnosis which is a possible incisional hernia from when my gallbladder was removed. If that's the case, I could have obstruction to intestines or bowels. It could be serious. And nobody will do anything. Completely hopeless.

I had my first child at Columbia Memorial. The staff is friendly and attentive. I was put in the "storage" room due to the high volume of births that night. It was annoying because it was right next to the back exit/entrance so people were going in and out at all hours. Great food though. I will definitely be returning if I am in need of their services.

my husband just had hernia surgery. his nurse, carla, was awesome, so caring, friendly and so professional. his surgeon, dr.brenda schmidt was amazing also. she explained the surgery and aftercare to me while he was in recovery. hes healing well. we have had good and bad experiences in our 26 years of visiting cmh. this was one of the better experiences. carla and dr schmidt, thank you.

I must say for being a hospital this one has some funny people working for them . My wife's sister was a patient at Columbia Memorial Hospital on 11/3 thru 11/5 she was on med surge. and she said she saw Rhonda go into her purse while she thought she was a sleep and take a bottle of 120 oxycodone out of her purse she didn't say anything at the time because she was shocked to see this kind of stuff happens at a hospital. and well she felt awful and wasn't going to make a show at this time she did happen to speak with the nurse when she came in and she said oh no Rhonda wouldn't do that excuse me she did she knows it was Rhonda cause she saw her name tag Rhonda was working with her all night we have contacted the hospital multiple times nothing is being done . we are never coming here again providence it is ..

I am impressed with the couple times I've been there. Easy system for checking in for labs. Not long to wait. Upbeat staff and volunteers. They were friendly by name with each other. The best gift shop and volunteers that I have ever experienced in any hospital. I plan to return for gift shopping. Staff that I talked with really like working there. They are happy about the remodel, and believe their hospital is special. I felt what they said was sincere. Nice inside, outside street signage was good, and the parking lot was easy to navigate.

The Emergny room staff are generally rude to just about everyone. Patients, family members, espically the ambulance crews that were just doing their job. I was just there at a visiter and witnessed a nurse tell off an ambulance crew from bringing in a patient. Their medical care is probably adequate but I'd rather drive 30 minutes to Providence Seaside or Ocean Beach Hospital . Then deal with the staff. They don't treat you like people and would sugest taking your emergencies elsewhere.

I visited the CMH ER on Memorial Day weekend. Although the ER was very busy for a Sunday, they appeared to be fully and capably staffed. Due to the various tests that were needed, and the necessary wait time for test results, I was there for several hours. I was amazed that everything was handled so professionally by every staff member and the ER doctor who dealt with my case. Every single person who took care of me, from the receptionist, to the various members of the nursing staff, to the XRay technician, and the doctor was concerned and considerate. I have never dealt with an ER doctor, whether as a family member or patient, who was more thorough. Thanks all for a great experience!

We just had our baby here and the experience was truly phenomenal. Incredible levels of attention, quality and knowledgable medical care, and the friendliest staff.

Amazing care i have received since i have been here. I came into the er severely ill i thought i had the flu for 5 days but it was diverticulitis they took great care of me moved me from er to my own hospital room with top notch care like i received in seattle at uw. The nurses and cnas are top of the line amazing. You can have visitors anytime plus they will let you see your dog if you have been here as long as i have. This place rocks !

A friend of mine ended up here after being brought in from our fishing trip by a coast guard chopper. The Nurses and Doctors were all amazing and super accommodating even though the hour was late and the situation was quite hectic. We couldn't have been in better hands they were great to work with.

Jacob Bentley

Good doctors and service, but astronomically expensive. $35,000+ surgery for a broken fibula - not impressed with whom they source their marked up products from either (Pacific Medical Inc). CMH was not very transparent on costs.. Buy on amazon - staff was impressed with the quality. Pretty pathetic how expensive healthcare is in this country. Now I get to pay off medical debt along side my student loans!! :D Oh well, life as a millennial!

Carole Braswell

My husband had emergency surgery at CMH 2 yrs ago for removal of his gallbladder. The Dr, and CMH were awesome. Could not have had a more positive experience in an emergency situatioon.

Three physical therapy visits and a bill for over $1400. The therapy hurt, good thing i stopped going!!!! If there is a way to spell ripoff in the medical field, this is it.

My Grandpa was in CMH for an injury when a nurse FAILED to activate the bed alarm before she left her shift. my grandpa(high on meds) got out of bed and fell. He was on the hospital room floor for hours with a newly broken hip and laying in his own urine before someone finally came in. I believe the nurse still works at CMH. This hospital has a reputation for having it's focus on money and not on patient care.

Patrick Mcgee

after a bad surgeon in Portland left me with a unexpected, long term, challenging outcome, it has been only the grace of God, Dr David Liebel and CMH that has kept me alive and hopeful

If you aren't dieing go somewhere else. Make the drive to Seaside, this place has HORRIBLE service with insane prices.

My wife went in for a scheduled c section on 12/11. The surgical staff was quite awesome but that's not part of this review. The maternity ward is what I'm focused on. They were horrible. Started by nurses not knowing how to answer our questions. Treating us like garbage, our room was trash. The shower didn't work and when my wife needed to shower the day after her surgery the nurse made her speed walk to another room and shower before a patient was admitted didn't help her , no soap, shampoo or any wash cloths.then failed to tell her to take off her gauze dressing for over 24 hours. Two nurses came in over night arguing with each other. Then we got moved to a non maternity room in a unlocked area with a newborn. With a nurse who knew nothing about babies. This place is a joke

Terrible Doctor at the Emergency Room. I HATE THIS PLACE! Will re-post with her name. It would be better for all of us if she would move out of town. If this Doctor decided to never return to work: it would be a good thing. 2nd time I have received, way sub-par, treatment here. I am in tremendous pain & I can't rely on this hospital to treat me. Now, I have to wait several days; for management to be in office, just to raise my concerns. I HATE YOUR HOSPITAL!!! YOU SHOULD BE UNDER REVIEW! ;-(

Never had a good experience. They literally mess something up every time i went in. ESPECIALLY WHILE I WAS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT! WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR "FORGETS" TO SIGN YOUR PRESCRIPTION!?!?!! ISNT THAT THE WHOLE POINT?! So here I was several hours later, super pregnant, and with a thrown out back having to drive back to Astoria to this joke of a hospital to get it signed..yeah, way to go cmh. You guys have really stepped it up over the years..

I had knee replacement surgery on Dec.18th, 2018. It was a great experience overall! The staff practices thorough sanitation practices to prevent infection. The nursing staff was very sweet, friendly, attentive and efficient. The medical staff listened to my concerns and accommodated my requests. The pain was manageable and my recovery has been good. Great Hospital!

I was so impressed with this place I can't tell you enough. I was in and out of the er in record time. They were fast, polite, simple and was able to immediately rectify my problem. The doctor(Hardy I believe was his name) was informative, gave me options, then got right to work. No changing rooms, no explaining my problem 5 times. The best experience I've had at a hospital in twenty years probably.

At 1 a.m. on the 10th of May the graveyard nurses and Doctor were fantastic with helping me to and from the restroom when I needed to go and took very good care of me even after I had been discharged while waiting for my ride. Nurses at nurses at shift change when asked to be helped to the restroom said oh you've been discharged here's your crutches have a nice day. There was no way I could walk even with the crutches carrying my belongings to the restroom. I didn't get no help from the nurses from 7 a.m. on and elderly man help me get out to my car with my belongings that we had showed up to the hospital for an appointment.

I was a patient in the ED department Friday July 6th. It was a busy night, and still the staff was quite efficient and attentive. Dr. Tony and Nurse Josh took excellent care to ensure my mind was at ease was I departed about all my medical concerns. Thank you for your kindness and empathy. Pam Andrew

So I’ve heard several stories of deaths because of negligence now, had a buddy frequenting their doctors to end up in Portland to find out he has an illness that is Fairly common

Shelly Statzell

Extremely pleased with my experience. Very nice knowledgeable staff. Glad to have them.

Samuel Desjardins

Most expensive hospital on earth! Charged me $1100 without discussing cost for an Ibuprofen and a antibiotic prescription. Of course they don’t tell you how much it costs. They just charge you.

I received an injury at work that required a few stiches. The company I work for has excellent insurance. At the time of the incident I filled out all the proper paperwork and supplied them with all the necessary workers comp info. That was in August. It's now been six months and despite numerous calls from myself, my company's HR and the insurance company they still can't figure out the billing. I have been threatened with fines and collections the entire time. I have heard from other people similar stories. My advice if you get injured and don't plan to pay with cash is to go elsewhere.

Jasmine Sleutel

This hospital knows just how horrible their reputation is... and still don’t give a damn. If you want to be misdiagnosed and leave in more pain than when you arrived, go to cmh. So thankful I refused to have my son at this joke of a hospital. If you want proper treatment and to feel like you are being taken care of from doctors who actually care about your health, ALWAYS go to seaside!

Went to the Emergency Department 2 weeks before my most recent visit. The instructions I got said to follow up with the E.R. if my problem didn't go away. I did and the Dr. there named Brenda S. was unfortunately the Dr. I got. she was very rude and disrespectful. (my visit was from some post pardom issue I have been having), I had my 2 month old daughter there with me) This woman or man whatever she claims to be had the nerve to tell me I was a pill seeker and that because I was there it was raising questions of how I was taking care of my child. One thing you should never do to a woman with post partom depression is imply she is a bad mother. First thing I do Monday is contacting her immediate supervisor. If you get this woman as your Dr. you should ask for someone more professional.

Danial Hansen

I am a veteran and a teacher. I know nothing else if I don't know policy and procedure. I was charged over $700 in blood work for which there was no follow up, follow through or diagnosis. I was referred to physical therapy who never contacted me and denied knowledge when I contacted them. My primary provider was Mark Tabor who didn't seem concerned enough about my condition to warrant any action other than conversation and medication. I received a bill to which I returned a letter requesting contact be made. I only received another bill. My only mistake was not observing Columbia's abysmally low rating prior to my patronage. Go elsewhere if you can.

CMH has an amazing Emergency Dept., staffed with great care providers. Clean, caring, efficient.

Gary Sunderland

just had a colonoscopy at CMH today. Could not have went better from the pre op appt in the pavilion to the check out after the op. Surgeon was Van Dusen, who was great, but the whole team was excellent. Had a procedure at CMH around ten years ago that was "not good". I think they have made some upgrades in alot of areas since then.
