STOP REVIEWING ON GOOGLE AND CONTACT THE LOCAL NEWS STATIONS ,NEWSPAPERS AND YOUR LOCAL POLITICIANS. IF WE ALL DO SO ENOUGH TIMES SOMETHING MIGHT ACTUALLY CHANGE. Mercy medical doesn’t deserve a one star rating. Hospitals like Mercy Medical are a huge part of what’s wrong with our health care system in this country. I saw the doctor in the ER for literally less than five minutes and was charged over $900. Between talking to me and looking at my test results he probably only spent ten minutes on me, but at least he was nice. Then the hospital charged $1400 for their laughable “ ER Care “ which was an absolute joke. After almost three hours total there I left in worse condition than when I arrived. Aside from the reason I had to go there I became severely dehydrated there and was ignored as I begged for water for over an hour and a half. From the receptionist to my nurse and other staff I came in contact with they were rude and didn’t care. I finally decided to just leave and then my nurse finally showed up and long story short , I was ignored for over an hour because she “ was on lunch “. How the ER there treats people is horrible and there billing is far more expensive than other hospitals. What they bill is a huge part of what wrong with our health care system.

Janelle Humphreys

Awesome staff and care, both professionally and personally. The dept they could use a lot of improvement inis the cafeteria. Healthy options are non existent. Being a hospital they should set an example.

Denise Hanlon

Amazing care. Far better the Cedar-Sinai in Beverly Hills.

Kellie Roper

Horrible medical service, worst i have ever seen

I think it's funny how they will responded to the good reviews which is very few and don't comment back on people's bad experience not even A I'm sorry you had a bad experience we'll try harder next time... i refuse to go back to this hospital EVER they treat everyone with little respect and act like your ignorant I myself had a hernia surgery done here a few months later I can back complaining of horrible pain they treated me like a pill popper and told me I was fine I can back multiple times and got the same response I didn't even ask or want pain meds just wanted to know what was going on so I ended up going to cottage grove ER they told me I have a hernia AGAIN so they send me back to mercy with a cat scan disk they look at it and tell me I'm perfectly fine and what was seen on the cat scan is scar tissue so I believe them but once again have horrible pain so I go to sacred heart in Eugene and they schedule me for emergency surgery at McKenzie Willamette for a damn hernia... mercy is incompetent and does not care about the patients im not the only one having a bad experience my mom came i there twice complaing of bad headaches feeling dizzy and not like herself they never once checked her head not one time said she had tension headaches and sent her on her way that night she had a seizure my stepdad called 911 they took her to McKenzie Willamette and her brain was bleeding they are horrible people and she be held responsible for the people they have hurt while being negligent

The most uncaring sorry excuse of a hospital. Don't waste your time here, it's worth the drive to Grants Pass or Eugene.

Jessica Creel

I had a miscarriage and was bleeding heavily. The idiot ultrasound tech said that the miscarriage was complete and couldn't find anything so they cancelled my surgery. Three days later I had the miscarriage at home which was against my wishes because someone had the internal ultrasound wand backwards. I not only had to go thru all of the emotional stress, but I also had no medical support thru the entire ordeal. I'm at disgusted with the treatment here. This hospital needs to be shut down. They have hurt and killed as many if not more people than they've helped. If you can, go to Riverbend or Medford.

Christopher Pond

This is the one hospital that takes the cake. I have never ever ever been more humiliated before by a hospital in my life. They treat you like garbage here and everyone in the community knows it. You never hear anything good about Mercy. Mercy is certainly one thing they completely lack. I’d 100% rather die at home than come to this hospital and be treated with blatant disrespect.

Ryan Huntley

Everytime we come here and get admitted it's a great experience. The ER is a little rude sometimes. They are also fighting off drug addicts faking illness all day just to get a fix. I'd be a little cranky if I had to do that too.

Mercy recently treated a family member in the ER and I was very pleased with the staff and providers care, getting him taken care of and sent home with what he needed to get well. I also had to bring my daughter in for some belly pain in the middle of the night last year. Again, expert care.

Mario Curiel

I took my wife Into the e r it took them and hour and a half just to go see the nurse and nobody came after an hour later even after she told them she was having heart problems .... this hospital SUCKS

Sierra

Worse experience each and every time. If you can, drive to eugene or any other hospital! Had horrible trouble with them plus woth their billing department, they had a bill go to my collections because they never properly filed the claim with my insurance, didnt even send it to the right place. Horrible place! People go there for simple things and leave much worse if they even make it out.

Deadly Justice

Went here a couple years ago and they said a break was a fracture any one with common sense would see it was a break not a fracture

Emily Hicks

I've had two babies here, and I've had a great experience both times. The nurses we're very accommodating and friendly. I had a good size room both times. I've never spent any long amounts of time in hospitals before having children but I think they do a fantastic job here.

ER ROOM admissions STAFF have no clue to basic protocols when a patient walks in the Emergency room with symptoms of a Heart attack. Have a seat and die! No urgency no compassion! No Triage! Alert locals call this place MURDER CARE. Drive to Riverbend in Eugene or Rough regional in Medford. If medical er permits.

Emily Murdock

I'm not normally the patient, but rather accompanying someone needing care. Recently, I was the patient and am not at all pleased with the services provided. Yes, they dealt with the main issue, but may as well have been robots. The gal taking my insurance info didn't have me fill out all paperwork, so had to call bm to get more info the next day; she also didn't mention workers comp until calling me the next day, which made it difficult for me to schedule a follow up appt with another doctor. Furthermore, when I called them to discuss workers comp claim info, the gal hung up on me in the middle of me speaking and I still had another question. I understand being busy, but don't hang up on me without at least a parting greeting so I know the call is ending. Very dissatisfied and will only ever go back for absolute emergency!

I actually think Mercy Medical has improved. If you ever have an issue talk with the manager of the emergency room, who so happens to be a doctor. He’s very understanding and stays neutral, unlike the patient advocate who sides with the hospital, rather then hearing the patient out(from my experience with her anyways)I mean how is change suppose to take place when your closed minded. They now have a Nurse who asks the patient their overall experience when they leave which makes me think their trying to improve. I was diagnosed with a 1cm. kidney stone, and never once did they make me feel unwelcomed when I came in on multiple occasions(mostly out of anxiety, and a with standing thought, that my stone might travel and get stuck in my ureter. Doctor Cook, wow, most down to earth doctor I’ve ever meet. She definitely put me the patient at ease. Gosh your lucky if you get her! I’m writing this review first off, because doctor Cook is phenomenal, also because I’ve noticed how much the hospital has improved and deserves a great rating!

Tianna Flannery

Please pay more attention to the people in the emergency room with serious problems. We waited 6 hours as my eye got worse and worse and it took losing consciousness to get taken back. Allowing to open more beds in overflow for those situations getting clearly worse would allow for better service. You could see my eye getting worse and if i had been taken back and made a priority, I probably wouldn't be as bad as I was when I got seen. It turned out to be orbital cellulitis, a life threatening and blindness threat otherwise the staff has been so wonderful and accommodating. They've given me pain meds when needed and provided care when I did finally get into the overflow beds in the pediatric unit . Doctor Preeti has been a little pushy in trying to get me to stop smoking (even though I already smoke very little), but she has been wonderful otherwise. Nurses Felicia, Julia, and Tatijana have been very sweet and a commodating as well as my night nurses Olivia and the others (I can't remember the names very well) . They've made my overall experience comfortable and happy

Went here with my Mom who was on oxygen during a snow storm, they lady, who had short grey hair and wore glasses, was rude and said they couldnt do anything for her, then laughed as we walked away like it was funny and like we did something wrong for asking for help, my Mom died a month later cause lack of oxygen caused heart failure

Took my husband in fearing a blood clot after having surgery just a week ago at the Portland VA. It’s terrible that the Roseburg VA has closed the ER which means he is left with Mercy as his only choice. After all the horror stories I’ve heard, I was so afraid to go there, we have never been ourselves. It turned out to be a very good experience. There was quite a few people in the waiting room but he was called into triage within 10 mins. It was explained that all the beds were full and they would get him in ASAP. It was only another 10-15 mins before they got him in. Immediately there were people in to start the exam, he had an ultrasound which they did discover some clots, treated him with meds and he will follow up with VA. All in all, we were in and out within 3 hrs. Everyone was very attentive, friendly and caring.

Been waiting for over 2 hours and pleaple that have come in 1 after me get in first that’s not right

This hospital was wonderful with the care we received! My husband and I were traveling through, when he began experiencing heart attack symptoms. We went to the Mercy Medical Center Emergency Room, and they went into action--fast! He spent 3 nights in the ICU after having a stent put in, and will be fine. We couldn't have asked for more competent, compassionate, and friendly nurses and doctor. I would recommend Mercy to anyone! And yes, the food was good, too!

Christine Deardorff

I am offering 2 separate reviews here as my experiences were very different, like night and day. First, my hospitalization mid-June was wonderful on all levels: ER staff/hospitalist, surgeon, unit staff, food, imaging staff, etc. I felt so cared for, especially when I got to sleep through the night, something out of the norm (in a hospital) in my experience, anyway. Everyone during my stay was both professional and understanding. I thank you all for helping me through an initially traumatic experience.

Kat Johnson

My Uncles doctor called and told us to rush him to Mercy. His INR was off the charts. We spent 3 hours in the room, to be told that there was nothing they could do and to recheck on Monday with his primary. His blood was dangerously too thin and they released him! His blood pressure was 217 over 120 and they did absolutely nothing! They said that was ok. The nurse was rude. Didn't give him oxygen. I had to tell another nurse that he had to have it 24/7. My Uncle had to use the bathroom and again I had to ask another nurse to help him. Dr. Smith was amazing though and explained everything in detail. We need a new hospital or a new director for the one we have.

D MILLER

Went to ER for afib. They took me in to make sure I could handle sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room. About 20 min. wait. They treated me with respect and kindness. I was admitted for 2 days. The entire staff was professional. My experience was much more than I ever expected.Food was good too.

Henrietta James

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor! The people who own this hospital have already been shut down and sued for many many millions in another state! This place is just unbelievable, a Dr. told one patient that he wasn't going to treat a uti and just go home and die! So when I say good luck, I mean it!

Brenda Mcelroy

I went into Er with heart pain and everyone is out standing . All staff was so great and took good care of me and talked to me when I was so scared . Thank u to all the out standing staff God please you Brenda mcelroy

victoria lachapelle

Worst hospital EVER. Go to Riverbend in Eugene/Springfield. Worth the drive and care!

Rachel Peterson

Everyone we have come into contact with besides the ladies in triage have been very rude. My husband is a type 1 diabetic we came in after a procedure he had that ended with him non stop throwing up. You would think they would be a little nicer. The older blond lady working the reception is very forgetful. They need better training in customer service and people skills.

Virginia Elandt

Went to the ER for 11 month old with dehydration from four day stomach virus. Nurse spent 5 mins with baby to tell me he was dehydrated but not enough to treat him. Basically wait until he's unconscious. Didn't offer any fluids or medications. Any clinic could do a better job.

Leo & Kristy Miller

Doctor's and nurses were exceptional. The front receptionist and billing receptionist at the end were rude. They treat you like you are stupid and have no business taking up there time.

Rebekah C

Mercy medical absolutely 100% sucks! Went there after I went to urgent care for a weird abscess under my arm. Urgent care didn’t hardly look at it. They just gave me antibiotics. Then at mercy they told me that the rash I had under my arm was fungal even though I’ve tried tons of fungal creams and medications. I told them that I’m more sensitive to things being a red head and they just stared at me and said I was stupid. They said they couldn’t take a skin sample which I think is complete BS. I’m just beyond frustrated because getting into dermatology takes forever and I have no help except to take antibiotics that may or may not help.

literally the worst hospital DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL NOT GET PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION

My father got a injury on his foot and when we arrived there and FINALLY got called in from the ER, multiple nurses/doctors came to check in, only for them to release him without cleaning his would or giving him anything for the pain. The lack of treatment and staff knowledge in Mercy is old news. Personally think they need to clean out all the staff or get shut down.

Zachary Bromagem

This is absolutely the worst hospital that j have ever been to. My wife had mastitis and we went into the ER cause it was Sunday and we waited 2hrs and nothing haptafter checking in mean while my wife has a huge fever we have a angry baby and a restless 3yr old. So we leave and come back later maybe it will be better it didn't. Now we get to wait in the ER for over 3hrs with and iv in my wifes arm and everyone else gets to go ahead of us were are literally the last people to go in and after getting to the back all the rooms open.

Staff here are super caring and nice. Sometimes they have musicians come and play music in the hallways and in the stairwell. Music for healing.

Worst hospital in Oregon!

Robert Blackwell

The hospital does a great job, the people complaining are ignorant of the procedures. My wife was treated there for over 4 yrs off and on. Always was impressed with their level of care. Had an issue with a nurse who could not hit my wife's veins, the hospital trained their people different AFTER THAT INCIDENT. I personally will be checking on the hospitals promise to train their staff on how to handle situations similar to my wife. I will make the call on 11-8-2016, to see if they have kept their promise. If not i will post the results of my inquires . My wife was admitted on 8-16, she passed on 8-20-16.

We were visiting Tiller when my daughter had a quad accident. She thought she had broken her arm. The closest ER was here. We walked in and we're treated immediately. From the ED tech who was beyond friendly, sorry I forgot her name. To our amazingly sensitive RN Stephen to our PA Ashley Robison. Stephen held my daughter's hand to comfort her and Ashley went so far as to call our hometown provider in Tucson to get her in ASAP for surgery. You were our HEROS. Thank you for being amazing.

Cody Evers

Absolute joke of a place. Only good thing about this hell hole is the birthing center.

Amber n kyle king

Call up there to see what's going on with my grandmother who isn't answering cell or room phone for 2 days. Wont let me know. I live 2 hours away then find out they moved her this morning to specialty care wont clarify why they did. When we went up on Saturday to see her my grandma clearly hadn't been bathed in the 3 days she was up there and had dried blood on her mouth. Nurse at that time still wouldn't give me the time of day like i shouldn't ask what the hell is going on with her. 3rd time in less than a month she was hospitalized up there and had gotten worse each time.. Not too happy. Where are the people to advocate for those who need to be advocated for?! When ammonia levels are so high theyre hallucinating, and retaining so much water their legs are cracking. Just upsetting by the lack of communication to the family whether in person or by phone

Mercy medical is a joke. Saying they've improved is a joke!!! Three weeks ago my father n law went to their emergency room because he fell on our front steps, they sent him home saying he had a contusion on his rib. Three weeks later he's in riverbend hospital in Eugene with congestive heart failure. They need to be held accountable for every mistake they have made!! That's not including my 21 year old daughter who went to their emergency room because of Gaul bladder issues, she was rushed by family to riverbend in Eugene and they admitted her instantly and she'd been to mercy several times before and was told she had ulcers and gastritis. I'm seriously fed up with how they get away with this stuff. On a mission to find the chief of staff but instead I get the run around.

In nearly 20 years of various family nightmares of health problems and ER runs have it experienced such respectful, competent, wonder care as the who's team provided my husband! I cannot say enough goid things about how wonder they were in handling our crises!!!!

Thomas Graf

Treated me great. Had an accident and needed to go to the ER for some pretty broken toes. Dr. David Smith was awesome and they fixed me up and sent me on my way very quickly. Thanks to all staff!

My mother woke up with a horrible pain in her back and she was vomiting. We were on our way to CA but had to change plans and get her to a hospital. We went to Mercy Hospital in Roseburg and were not sure what to expect. Everyone from the intake people to the nurses and doctor were fabulous. They were kind, patient, caring, knowledgeable, and professional. She was seen in a timely manner and after tests were done, they got the results back sooner than we expected. They set everything up for her to be seen in Salem since Roseburg did not have the type of specialist she needed to take care of her. Several days after returning to Yakima, Dr. Rickman called my mother to see how she was doing which really impressed us. In all of the confusion we left her cane in the ER and they kept it safe until it could be picked up there by a niece. Overall, we were very impressed with the hospital and staff. Thank you for taking such good care of my mother.

Jonathan Maxwell

Went in for a CT scan. They were open to answering my questions and explained things in detail. Very good experience. Very gracious place. An answer to my prayers.

Laura Schwalm

Im from out of town....i sought help at this ER with severe abdominal cramping that caused vomitting. Also had bleeding in my colon. The Dr didn't even palpate my abdomen nor did she listen to bowel sounds. No x-rays no nothing except blood work and a stool sample. They told me the blood work came back but not the stool. The Dr didn't even go over my labs and tell me if they we're normal or not. She saw me for 60 seconds then left. I waited for hours for the test to come back. I asked the nurse for pain meds and he said he would ask the Dr and he never did address it again. I didn't get any relief until I filled my script after i got back to my cousin's house. Finally I couldn't take it anymore because the gurney was killing my bad back so I told them and they said I could just go home and they would call me with results. Well that never happened. Then when I called the ER to try to get results she said she would not get me results over the phone and that I'd have to come in and be seen again. Yea sure. After all the hell I went through with that ER the first time wasn't enough. The only good thing that happened was the nice lady in medical records that happily helped me and faxed the records to my Dr. Now I can be done with that place and I refuse to go to that hospital ever again. If you need help it's worth it to drive to Eugene to get help instead of wasting your time here.

Rowen F.

I went here while on vacation for very severe headache. It was probably just a migraine. But I never experienced something that painful before. sat in the waiting room for a few hours until the pain completely faded away. then I was seen by a nurse for vitals. at that point it was almost midnight and I decided to check out and hope it was nothing to serious.

#1WINDOW LICKER

Absolutely no mercy, went today to get a cyst drain out of my thumb and guess what got nothing and my pain in my thumb is as bad as it was the first time it was done 8 months ago. They would not listen to me and I never once saw a doctor. Worst hospital in the country

I went to see my husband and they would not tell me where he was, and when he told me where, they refused to let me see him. This is one of the worst place to receive medical treatment. Even my own personal experiences in the Emergency Room have been horrible. The bedside manner is virtually non-existent and they don't care about the emotional distress they leave people with. If you can make it to Eugene, go there instead.

5 years ago in June I was brought to the Emergency room by a friend after collapsing. The attending Doctor saw the seriousness of my condition and after a very brief amount of time had me in ICU. Due solely to his insite I am alive today. I had Bacterial Pneumonia , the strain that killed Jim Henson (Muppets) . It can kill in hours and is very stealthy. It is my pleasure to sing the praises of this exception Hospital.

Teri Reed

I honestly don't even want to taste even one star! I have a mechanical heart valve. I came in under the advice of my coumidin clinic to have coumidin blood clot checked out an the entire Lobby was full of people on drugs wanting more drugs! I came in with chest pains an unnatural bruising an yet they left me sitting there for 6 hours with no service at all but a blood test. I watched drug addict after drug addict receive service before me a heart patient with chest pains! This Hospital is dirty an unclean an the worst hospital I've ever been in. They probly kill more people than they save. They probly let them die right there in the lobby!

Ahpeng Langston

I have been in Mercy Hospital twice in 2 months. My second visit was for a total hip replacement. I was treated like an old friend. Dr. Susan Williams did a masterful surgery. I am completely pleased with this & my other stay.

Jacob Gregor

Went there tonight.. 6 hours later were sent home with no treatment at all. Doctor Rickman was a total arrogant prick and insulted my girlfriend for being a smoker. Next time we go to Cottage Grove or Eugene

Jamie Buehner

I just recently when to the ER for a possible blood clot with chest pain. They did blood lab, EKG, X-Ray and ultrasound. I had a really high blood pressure. They stuck and IV in me and sent me back out to the waiting room to wait for a bed. 4 hours later they got me into a room. The Doctor came in a said that i had too much fat on my leg for them to see anything. She didn't want to address my high blood pressure or my chest pain. All she would rather talk about was my weight and diet. I was so embarrassed and humiliated. I left the hospital in tears.

Thomas Dole

I have had a challenging morning, to say the least. I am posting this, as you may run into the same issues once on Medicare! Medicare will cover a whole battery of blood tests when you first sign up. The catch is...all tests must be done on one visit. I went to Evergreen (owned by Mercy Hospital) to have my blood drawn. Before I had my blood drawn, they told me three tests might not be covered; however, they couldn't say for sure. This is just what Mercy’s system told them, but it wasn't actually verified by Medicare. If the tests were not covered in actuality, I would have to pay $300 out of pocket. Evergreenwould not verify whether or not this is actually the case. So, I had the tests done (minus the tests in question). I called Medicare to find out if the tests were covered. However, Medicare needed the procedure codes, which Evergreen (Mercy) said they couldn't give me even though my doctor, who ordered the tests, also worked for Evergreen (Mercy). My wife used to draw blood at Quest Diagnostics. She urged me to go back to Evergreen to have them hold up the tests, as all blood tests needed to be done all at once to be covered under the ”Welcome to Medicare physical.” I was informed that, since I had already had the blood drawn, I couldn't stop the tests. And, I wasn't able to add these tests later. It should be noted that I found out later, Quest would have allowed me to add these tests to my order within a week of my blood draw. Quest would have called my insurer (Medicare) to verify coverage. Quest would have had the procedure codes on the paperwork, so I could have easily given those to Medicare to check the coverage for myself. Quest would have called my doctor to check/change procedure codes to ensure coverage; Evergreen refused to do this. I wanted to let Mercy Hospital know that I was disappointed in their service. I called their patient advocate, but I was switched to a recording saying to call back, and I could not leave a message. Their system promptly hung up on me. I wish I had gone to Quest Diagnostics. Thank you for letting me vent. I hope this saves you money and the headache of going to Mercy!

Amanda Chester

Medical experience is ok at best

Jacob Swinn

Staff in the ER, especially Jared, Lindsey, and Hilary, were fantastic, compassionate, and really showed they care about their patients. I know Mercy has some issues, but with staff like that they can always provide good care.

James Britton

You have a better chance of dying in the waiting room!

Lex Lynn

Went on for a psych evaluation and they stuck a needle in me and left us in the waiting room for 2 hours more on the already 3 hour visit

Elisa Rosas

Had a itchy thoart am better thankz.

edit: now that i have more energy, i’ll explain. i hadn’t eaten or had water<- in 2.5 days when i came here. i was puking and visibly shaking in the waiting room for four hours, during which i almost passed out. my husband was told “well if she does we can see her.” after this i waited, puking and shaking, another hour with no treatment before i was given one IV, after which i was discharged with some nausea meds. is this place for real?

I just got home from my overnight stay at Mercy. I had surgery yesterday morning, and was placed in the pediatric surgical area to recover until this morning. Drs. Powell and Hollander performed my surgery, and both were wonderful. I was delighted to have Brittany as my nurse again (I had her 2-1/2 years ago when I had another surgery). She truly is a caring and efficient nurse, and went above and beyond to make my stay bearable. Although she works long shifts, she always came into my room with a big smile on her face, and was happy to help me with whatever I needed. There was a problem with my television last night, and my favorite TV show was airing, so she contacted Apollo in Maintenance to have it fixed, and he did! He even came to my room to tell me that it was working! Brittany was always there to make sure that I had enough medication, food, snacks, water, or whatever I needed to be comfortable. I was really nervous about several things, and she alleviated all of my fears. Doesn't get better than that! Also, Jenna, my CNA, was absolutely wonderful. Jenna, too, went above and beyond. She brought in a comfortable recliner for my husband to sleep on so he could spend the night with me in my room. She was also so smiley and nice. What a great team those two make! Thank you for everything that you did for me.
