This company used to own part of my primary care physician's practice. My daughter went to our family doctor in March 2014 and May 2014 and we FINALLY received this strange invoice on FEBRUARY 17 2015!!! They marked it 120+ days late and we had no idea who these people are. They may be good on the medical side of things but their billing SUCKS!

The outpatient clinic on Portland is horrible. They are so over booked with patients that there was not sufficient parking or seating. We had to sit in the hallway since there wasn't enough room in the waiting room. We checked in early for our surgery and didn't get called back until an hour and a half later. We were a number instead of a patient, literally they called us number 31 instead of our name. If you have another choice I would consider somewhere else!

Surgery staff was awesome. Billing is AWFUL! They told me I would owe my whole deductible out of pocket prior to my sons surgery. This was over $3000 so I made arrangements for a payment plan. I paid them 1/3 of the day of surgery. The billed my insurance and I only owe them $140. They still have my money and are giving me the run around on refunding me the over payment. I have called 3 times requesting a refund and every time they give me some story about how they are waiting on this or that. They even billed my insurance twice which got DENIED for duplicate billing. I suggest finding somewhere else. We had 3 surgeries performed there for my kids. It was all great until the changed ownership.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Received excellent care, no waiting, and even called several days later to check on me. Very satisfied with everyone, except for one gal in the finance dept who was very rude, and not at all helpful. However manager remedied the situation very nicely! Really appreciate their efforts! Surgeon, Dr. Joel Davis, did an excellent job, as did the anesthesiologist and nursing staff!

The surgeons and staff were wonderful. The billing department was a nightmare. They made us pay almost $3,000 up front before they would do my wife's surgery. Then a week later I look at my insurance statement and we only owed them $550 which was fine because I thought we would be refunded promptly, wrong!!! To make a very long story short, it took several phone calls just to even get them to acknowledge we were owed a refund. Then after almost 3 months of nothing being done I finally call the fraud department of my insurance and while I am on hold with BCBS they call Summit and inquire about it. A couple hours later I receive a call from the Summit saying they had my check and I could pick it up anytime. I'm not sure if it was coincidence or something fishy was going on but after 3 months we finally got our money back.

I wish I could give them less than one star. The hospital staff was nice and the surgery waiting area was clean. However, there is not any privacy when waiting and discussing medical information. My main complaint is the billing department. I had to prepay 100% of their charges for the procedure, even with half of the money in the HSA account. The HSA account paid the bill when it was filed, and a check was promptly issued to the center. I was checking and noticed that we are owed a substantial credit. The payment was mis-coded in their system by the clerk. Meaning our account was never credited. I was then informed if I had not called, they never would have issued the refund. The Director of Business corrected the coding issue and stated a refund would be issued and received by us within two weeks. One month later, I am still waiting. After checking with the billing department AGAIN, I am told that due to their "new system", they can see we are owed a credit but cannot tell me how to get it or when it will be issued. I've reached out to the CFO, maybe he can help but I'm not optimistic. I would avoid this surgery center if at all possible. If you can't, always ask what the minimum is to pay. I'd hate for anyone else to have this experience.

I went to Summit Medical Center in Edmond, OK for a sleep study. This was on the second floor. The tech seemed nice enough but I could not over come how nasty appearing the room was. The walls were dirty and scratched up, the carpet had many stains with dead bugs atop it and the bathroom smelled of urine. The bed was uninviting with plastic pillows and the lights continuously flickered - creepy! I left without a sleep study because my anxiety level hit the roof. I have had sleep studies in the past and each facility was warm and inviting, home like. This place was worse than a Motel 6 with the added fear of bedbugs (no, I did not see any). The tech dismissed the room by claiming they study a lot of kids. I already have a sleeping problem and felt I could not give an accurate study because of how uncomfortable I felt, never mind being able to fall asleep!

The nurses and staff were wonderful. Dr. Beal was very attentive and concerned. Everyone took time to make sure I had what I needed and was comfortable. I've been I a lot of facilities and this one is the best.

Made us wait 2-3 hours before anyone came into our pre-OP room to talk to us about surgery. Staff is decent but will not answer any questions other than immediate ones that relate to what they are doing at that second.

I am going to say that I've now had ten surgeries in my life, this is the best experience I have had. The staff there is very good at their jobs, and very professional. They listen when talked to and make sure that they do anything to resolve an issue.

The service I received was adequate. I felt the attendant was unsure of exactly what he was doing at first, however it was successfully completed after he called in a second opinion. However the reason my review is a single star is because of their clerical and billing departments. I was notified of a 'hidden' fee after the fact that was never presented to me upfront, and was never spoken about when I payed prior to service. While this in itself isn't an unforgivable or unheard of practice, what makes my review what is it is was discussing this hidden fee with the billing department, who proceeded to offer no help, no solutions, no sympathy, and absolutely no concern at all that it had happened to me, to the extent of essentially being told 'well oh well for you'. That is a very sad and pathetic way to hide an error by your staff and deliver on the spoken agreement. As this is still the medical field, I of course have no choice but to pay it, however I expected more from such a practice.

I went to the clinic on portland. I was extremely worried due to the bad review I had read but the staff were all amazing and very informative! The facility was clean and organized. I was also very impressed by the patience and understanding demonstrated by the nursing staff!!

Nurses were great. The doctor was a horrible person and actually made me cry ten minutes before surgery and I though my husband was going to hit him. He should have. I went through with the surgery but will NEVER go back to that doctor!

I’m in my bed at the sleep study right now having a terrible time. The tech is as warm as an icicle. Clueless, uninformative. Light is coming through the window onto my face. The room is a cold hospital room. I feel totally uncomfortable on this bed. I’ve told the tech I’m uncomfortable multiple times. I need this sleep study and this is a huge waste of money and time. Such a huge disappointment. Never come here!!!

The gentleman receptionist is extremely rude. I asked him two simple questions and his response was less than friendly, almost as if he was doing me a favor by helping me. Plus, the waiting area blasts Fox News on the TV at full volume. Definitely will try and avoid this facility for future care.

If you’re considering an elective surgery, and the doctor uses this outpatient facility, you should find another doctor. I recently had a septoplasty here because I have had a fair amount of sinus problems in the past, and it was an unpleasant experience from the beginning. Starting with trying to get on the schedule. They won’t even give you an estimate on their costs unless you have a doctor willing to put you on their schedule for a surgery date. While the service was average, or at least what you would expect from a healthcare facility, they smile at you while gouging your pocket for every cent they can. For a simple surgery that lasted an hour and a half the overall cost for the surgery center alone was over $35,000. That doesn’t even include the cost of the doctor and the anesthesiologist! Additionally, when the itemized bill finally came, they listed anesthesia as a cost. Then what am I paying an anesthesiologist for? And why am I expected to pay you almost 3 times what I’m paying the doctor who gives it to me. Not to mention that cost is separate from the pharmacy charge, or should I say the pharmacy charge and the extended pharmacy charge, though I don’t remember leaving with any medicine. This extended pharmacy charge may be for the antacid they insisted I take before the surgery simply because I put on the list of conditions occasional acid reflux. All this and they have the gall to send me a bill for the remaining balance after I paid them over a thousand dollars up front, on the day of the surgery, for the total amount. Oh and the remaining balance? $.18! 18 damn cents they have the audacity to send me a bill for?? Save the damn stamp and you get more than 18 cents back!! Don’t use this place guys seriously. If a doctor doesn’t have their own place to perform a surgery, then they should at least have the decency to choose a surgery center that won’t gouge their patients. Find a doc that uses a hospital, pays for their own place in a surgery center, or has their own location to perform these sorts of elective surgeries.

I have been coming to Summit Medical Center for the Weightwise program for about 4 months. The staff is amazing. I just had bariatric surgery yesterday. They have been so awesome. They have taken great care of me and treated me like a member of their family. This has been the best experience I have ever had at a hospital. Thank you Summit!!!!!!!
