Good hospital, but billing /accounting department can make an easy situation into the most complicated and unorganized mess. Pay a bill and purposely write account # on check then it gets applied to different account then have to prove it has been paid and talk to people here local then again in Colorado for some reason. They make things so difficult. Was told to write account # on check to prevent confusion and just found out that doesnt solve or help situation at all. So frustrating to pay bills on time then have to take time out from work to fax bank statements to prove they made a mistake. Oh well just money and time which both grow on trees.

Wife was transported here last night because this hopsital is, supposedly, "better equipped"...Horrible! That's the only word for it. It may be better equipped in terms of specific technology for her medical issues, but, faculty wise...a different story. Absolutely no urgency to address anything. I understand that hospitals are a waiting game. Been through more than our fair share of medical rodeos. But, there is a point where the patient starts feeling as if they are nothing more than background noise. Waited more than 15 hours for someone to change and/or clean a bloody IV (and no, that is not a British slang. Blood was all over her arm). Informed them last night that she would need her daily medications for her stomach issues this morning, otherwise, she would spend the entire morning hurting and throwing up. Did they address? NO! But, they brought her breakfast and said "Enjoy!" Can you guess what's happening now? Went and asked for a puke bag...none, apparently, in stock as they bring me a deep dish plastic roasting pan? Also asked for an anxiety medication to settle her down because the lack of answers, urgency and overall care had her worked up...an hour later and a gallon of tears later, they found the time to bring her a pain pill? Though I am not completely satisfied with the doctors, I have more patience for them, considering they are limited in numbers and have 10x the responsibility. Looking at history, charts, numbers, etc. I understand why they can leave us in limbo. The nurses, however, have no excuse. When I stand at the nurses station for 10 minutes without a nurse in sight, and the few that walk past me don't even look up, something is wrong with the culture of that establishment. I never leave bad feedback on a first occasion. Everybody is allowed a bad day. I even let the 2nd poor visit slide. But when I see the same lack of urgency and obvious lack of a concern from the same hospital 3 different times, something is terribly wrong and for the sake of the people you're supposed to be helping, something needs to be done. If people are going to suffer and wait they can do it for free from the comfort of their own homes and watch the incompetence on TV.

Superb! It was a very busy ER, but my doctors & nurse treated me with an amazing amount of compassion, respect & care! I would give them a higher rating if I could.

Always have excellent care with the best people taking care of you. I cannot say enough good things about Norman Regional.

Tim Kimball

It's not a bad place, and nobody wants to end up in a hospital.. the staff is nice and knows what they are doing, my wife had to stay a few days and she didn't complain.. hope everyone stays healthy.

I've lived in the Norman area over 10 years and have had numerous problems with them. My son had an emergency appendectomy where we were grossly over charged. We fought charges for months. He had a badly damaged finger repaired in the emergency room after an accident. We fought many of those charges. The doctor stitched up his finger. Took about 5 minutes. We were there about 4 hours. The charges were nearly $10,000. He needed another minor procedure to fix it properly and we went elsewhere. I had CT scan of my lung through my former personal doctor who is aligned with Norman Regional. The costs were through the roof. I needed regular CT scans for follow-up over the next 2 years. I went elsewhere and I was able to get the same scan done for less than one fourth the cost. I had an acquaintance who fell and hit their side very hard. The xrays were pathetic. They were told that they just had bruised ribs. After several more days of pain they followed up elsewhere and found that they had 5 broken ribs. I wouldn't go to Norman Regional unless I were bleeding out or near death. Stay away from their labs, etc. if you don't want grossly overcharged, too.

Icu nurses are great. The rest of the staff could use an evaluation. Looked like most of them were just there to wait for a pay check while the rest didn't even know what was happening. Icu nurses were wonderful. They get five stars

If i could give this horrific place negative 5 stars i would. this place isnt even remotely close to a hospital. and the norman regional healthplex is just as bad. i collapsed at my friends place with extreme unimaginable chest pain and called 911 because i thought i had just had a heart attack, when the fire department got there my pulse was 200-240 bpm and they had to immediately give me oxygen because my oxygen saturation was that low, when the paramedics got there they almost had to resusitate me because they shot 3 loads of medicine to slow my heart down and still couldnt slow it down, left me hooked up to oxygen because i wasnt breathing on my own, when i got to the hospital the doctor laughed at me and said there was nothing wrong with me and my ECG looked great and i had anxiety, OBVIOUSLY it wasnt anxiety or the EMTs wouldnt of shot a giant load of medicine to slow my heart down, my pulse was still 160-180 bpm even after that and they tried to have me sent to jail because i was screaming in pain and accidentally knocked my IV machine down writhing in pain while they were laughing at me and telling me i was crazy, I went all the way to a hospital in Texas and they confirmed i had a life threatening ventricular tachycardia and they saved my life and treated me, didnt do anything for me but tell me to go to a psychiatrist, SICK, if your having a life threatening medical emergency and want to die, go to Norman Regional and they will happily murder you in cold blood

My father had a terrible car accident 1000 miles from home. Under went emergenacy surgery for a collasped lung and broken neck. Everyone at the hospital was extermely helpfull and went above and beyond their normal dutys. Im so greatful for them saving my fathers life. My father was also very happy with the care he got. Top notch job to everyone working at Norman Regional Hospital!!!!!!!!!!!

Erin Gibson

COMPLETELY UNSATISFIED! I have rarely leave bad reviews on anything but we will NEVER go back. My daughter had insurance and they sent us a bill in the mail. I called them FOUR times and was told everytime that the issue was fixed.. Now I have debt collectors mailing me! They are incompetent and I am desperately trying to fix what they messed up which may cost me $800+!

Kaitlyn Harwick

This place has gotten infinitely better in recent years. Went to the emergency room today, was called back very quickly and received quick and excellent treatment. Nurses were friendly and did their jobs perfectly. The doctor that saw me was Dr. Matthew Bonner, he explained things wonderfully and was a great guy. Don't be afraid to go here because of how it used to be.

Anna Caddell

This is the absolute WORST hospital! My daughter was brought in for a lacerated finger, almost cut off. The doctor on call never ordered an x-ray or further testing of the injury. He had a student suture the laceration with blood squirting everywhere, wrapped it with gauze and sent us home. Said to remove stitches in 10 days. I found a hand surgeon on my own because of the severity and scheduled her immediately. Thankfully she was seen, x-rayed and had surgery within 4 days. She had completely severed one tendon, 60% severed the other, severed on nerve, 50% severed the other nerve and lacerated her artery. I cant believe the doctor on call in emergency didn't see this!!! She could've lost her finger or lost all function of her finger all together. SHAME on NRH and their staff. I would NEVER recommend anyone to be seen at NRH. BEWARE!!!!!!!

Jeanie Duncan

Horrible! Have a friend in hospital. Has been in pain & nauseated. Asked for something 5 hrs ago, still has not received anything! Sorry excuse for a hospital.

jay gondal

The most stupidest service ever both Dr Davis Atthew and Nurses old fat with runny noses I will never go back unless no choice

Kat Hadlock

Went in with my sister for a spinal fusion. They had no concern for her pain level and at no time was she comfortable. She was always in pain... I don't know if it was because of her DR or staff but either way, her pain seemed to be of no concern to them. She has chronic back problems and has had several surgeries none of which was she treated with as much disregard. There were several good nurses and physical therapist who were wonderful. But overall, this is an negative experience she will never forget.

I wish I could give this hell hole 0 stars. I just saw the video of the man who died in police custody after being discharged from this hospital because the hospital staff didn’t want to take the time to do their jobs correctly. It’s not surprising to me that this occurred considering my personal experience with this place, specifically the emergency room. I was in this ER a few months ago with my fiancé because he was having extreme troubles breathing due to his asthma. After waiting for over 3 hours, my fiancé’s conditioned worsened to a point he began having an asthma attack. We went to triage to try and get him a breathing treatment and were denied by the triage nurse. My fiancé, at the point of being denied, was BLATANTLY barely able to breathe, and no effort was made to help us. Panicked, we ended up having to rush home for him to take a breathing treatment, and upon our re-arrival, were told we “lost our place in line.” The female receptionist went on to cause a complete scene and made fun of my fiancé, calling him dramatic and making fun of him because his hands were shaking due to lack of oxygen and his blood pressure and heart rate being through the roof. We ended up going to another facility altogether after my fiancé’s family came down to Norman from Edmond and were treated with the same disrespect we originally were. ALL STAFF WE DEALT WITH THAT NIGHT DESERVE TO BE FIRED. I will NEVER return to Norman regional ever again. How many people have to complain/get hurt/die for something to change?

My elderly mother has been in the Norman Regional Hospital emergency room twice in the last two months. I was extremely impressed with both the doctors and the nurses. She was seen in a timely manner by, not one, but two different doctors. They, and the nurses, were professional and very kind. This last trip to the emergency room Dr. Smith and Dr Barnhart were the doctors. David was the nurse (he was in the room continually and did a great job with her care). I'm really confused by the low ratings that I've seen on the internet. I would definitely choose that hospital over any other in the area.

Keirra Sargent

The wait time is ridiculous. My husband and I have sat here for 3 hours and haven't even seen the dr yet. NEVER coming back to this hospital again. I'll go out of my way to go to okc from now on.

Scott Tatum

They are notorious for hounding family members and patients for payment WHILE you or your lived one is still in the hospital. They don' t care, it's all about the bottom line. DO NOT have any elective procedures done here, in fact skip this system all together.

Courtney Patterson

If I could leave 0 stars I would!!!! In for a car accident, treated my boyfriend and I like nothing was wrong. The nurses were more than rude!!!! Place is TERRIBLE!!!!!

Love Dr. Carter and the excellent care team we had. Best hospital I've ever been at. Our 4 stay was filled with professional top notch care in every department.

Do not go to this hospital unless it's an emergency and your life depends on it. They're incompenent and will scam you any way they can. Last year I went to their ER because I was sick and having trouble breathing. Had to wait at least half an hour for the doctor to even show up. Once he did, he did a few simple tests and left for another half hour. He came back, and asked me what I wanted to do about my illness, I said I didn't know (obviously because I'm not a doctor and it's his job to figure that out). He prescribed me some antibiotics and left. Later a nurse came in for billing. I gave her my insurance, she said there'd be a $50 co-pay, so I paid that and thought I was good to go... Five months later I received a bill from them for over $500. I call them up and they say that my insurance didn't go through. The insurance is in my parent's name so I have them check and they found that the hospital most certainly did bill my insurance. My father calls them up and explains this to them, sends them proof, and they say they'll look into it. They didn't call back but we started getting calls from a collections agency. So we call the hospital again and this time they say that there is a separate bill for the doctor and the hospital. We refuse to pay it because it's an obvious scam and they say something along the lines of "If that's the way you want to do it" and hang up. The calls from the collections agency stopped. Now, several months later, I've got a collections agency calling me up again, and I have no choice but to pay up because I need to rent an apartment soon and I can't afford to tank my credit score. These guys are blatant con artists, if I could sue them I would. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU HAVE THE CHOICE.

Michael McCreary

In 2010 i took my wife to the ER at Norman Regional because she was jaundice. Her skin was yellow. After six hours of test and no information they said the were admitting her. When we asked why they said "Oh, they didn't tell you. You're in the final stages of liver failure. You guys want Hospice?" they said it like." you want fries with that?" Here it is 5 years later. Just had a horrible experience with the ER there AGAIN. No compassion from the Doctors. About 6 minutes to diagnoses and no word until they are transferring the patient to an undisclosed facility. I was escorted off the property because I was visibly upset and "part of the problem"

Octavius Kane

It's been a year since I came in for a bilateral pneumothorax. I stayed 8 days and I don't have any complaints. This hospital saved my life, the nurses, staff, doctors, thank you all so much! Everyone was just great and helpful.

Bad service

Aimee Coker

Would give 0 stars if I could. Sprained my ankle and the dr at Norman regional ER told me I would be back on my feet in 2-3 Days. Didn’t give me pain medicine even though I was weeping from the pain. Sent me home in a flimsy brace. 2 weeks later I went to a different urgent care because I hadn’t improved and still couldn’t walk. I cried every day from pain. The dr there told me I had a grade 3 sprain and had torn the ligaments all the way through and will need surgery. I am shocked at the lack of care and attention the doctor at Norman regional gave me. I will never go there again. I understand now why all my nurse friends say Norman regional is where people go to die.

McLean Carlin

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would. By far this worst service or ability to do a job I have ever seen at any establishment. Better off not even going.

Cindy Barbadillo

Very disappointed, they want you to die first before they do anything anymore, the one on porter

Joshua Griffith

The hospital staff was great, and will take great care of you. The important thing is who your Doctor is. My husband's doctor was a specialist who normally works in his own office, but he was very half hearted in his methods. Sort of made us feel like just a number, but the nurses were delightful. Great ladies. ☺

Aaron Groff

Very helpful good doctors and nurses thank you.

Janet Totten

Can I give them one zero? Care was fine. Billing is a nightmare. If you cannot pay, they will send you to a strong arm collections agent after 60 days. Disgraceful.

Daniel Smith

If you have a choice to die or goto that building they call a hospital I would pick A. I could have died bleeding to death in the waiting room for two hours.

Shannon Baden

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! BEEN OVER TWO HOURS SINCE I CHECKED IN AND NOT ONE THING HAS HAPPENED SINCE! WHAT KIND OF EMERGENCY ROOM OPERATES LIKE THIS? IF IT WASN'T AN EMERGENCY THEN I WOULDN'T BE HERE. EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE AS HELL AND REFUSE TO OFFER ANY REASON TO WHY THEY ARE UNABLE TO SEE YOU JUST YET! NO WONDER EVERYONE GOES TO OTHER HOSPITALS! I WILL NEVER EVER COME HERE AND I DAMN SURE WILL LET EVERYONE THAT I KNOW NOT TO COME HERE TOO!

Trevi Holland

I've had great experiences at this hospital. The staff are helpful and friendly. You're not attached to monitors that go off every 5 minutes for no reason. The food in the cafeteria is good.

Bryn Canning

This we is more worried about how many beds they can rotate people in and out of rather than treating an issue

Bennie Ashton

Horrible experience. I was in excruciating pain and unable to sleep for days on end. They sent me home and told me to take advil. Back the next day, but I might as well have stayed home! A complete waste of money/time.

Captain Bass

Its okay just wished they were more concerned on treating people

Lynn Gooch

Nurse Lynn Porche. Very unprofessional.

Deanna Hughes

Did not do proper testing on my mother and sent her home with a bedpan. Said they couldn't find anything. Two weeks later she passed. The emergency room staff needs to be taught how to test and diagnose and learn the difference between a stroke and encephelopathy.

Sharla Cobain

Absolute worst ER in Oklahoma!!!! Even if your arm is discolated and bloody, they'll profile you as a drug addict. Hospital is filthy. Everyone I came in contact Was extremely rude and more concerned gossiping about other employees. Your health concerns bothers them greatly. Wouldn't bring a sick animal here. They deserve minus 10 stars.

I received an appendectomy at this hospital on February 28th, 2014. Dr. Andrew Wheeler did a great job, leaving only small incisions and no noticable complications. However, my 16 hours of aftercare following the surgery was mediocre at best. I awoke at 8:30am in severe pain (my surgery had happened at 2:30am), called the nurse for my next round of pain medication, and she did not arrive until 9:00am. She initially tried to give me a pain pill, which would have taken 30 minutes to take effect. I had to ask her to return that medication and bring me an intravenous drug, which took her another 15 minutes. Dr. Wheeler did not visit my room until 3:30pm (which is understandable, as one would imagine he's a busy surgeon), when he cleared me to leave the hospital. It took my nurse two-and-a-half hours before she came to my room and said something to the effect of "Oh, I'll go get started on your paperwork!". When I complained how long we had been waiting, she suddenly found the ability to finish all the paperwork in 20 minutes. The nurse was forgetful, inattentive, self-centered, and quick to make excuses for why things weren't going the right way. When I asked why I was delivered a liquid-based dinner after asking for a solid dinner, she said "Oh, the doctor was supposed to put that order in" (as if it's the surgeon's job to monitor what I'm being fed!). I was very happy to leave when we were finally able to, and wish that I could have stayed at the Norman Healthplex for my surgery, where I received far superior care.

Nightmare of a several day visit for my wife. Doctors refused to test for or consider my wife was suffering from ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPOTTED FEVER (RMSF) Caused by being bitten by a deer tic bite . My wife had 7 out of 8 classic symptoms of RMSF and just. Because there was no tic seen they refused to treat my wife with a simple anti biotic DOXYCYCLINE until I demanded on two different occasions for them to start the DOXYCYCLINE as directed by federal health Centers for Disease Control as a full 40% of people bitten by a tic never see the tic or feel the tic or the tic bite. The hospital wants to take her gal bladder out because "it's sluggish" we said no. As I take my $500 smart phone and confirm RMSF toxins can cause internal organs to struggle. My wife in the evening can't walk due to swelling of her legs and asks for Benadryl but can't get it because "only opioids are approved and the doctor's gone for the evening". She's left to suffer all evening until the doctor comes in the next morning, orders Benadryl, and within fifteen minutes she's feeling much better and within an hour she's walking on her own. Then we found out only by chance, (no one asked or told us) they've stopped her DOXYCYCLINE anti biotic contrary to Federal Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the doctor who stopped it said "did you see a tic, did you feel a tic?" Even though CDC says 40% of people bitten by tics and infected never see a tic, feel the tic bite, or see any marks from the tic. I again raise hell to have the anti biotic restarted. I was hoping it was in time to prevent amputation or death. I have to raise hell to get a tic bite test done (after we've been there 12 hours) which the CDC says should be done immediately. Needless to say, we are discharged with no diagnosis, after thousands and thousands of dollars of tests and care, of which none met basic guidelines as set forth and published by the CDC. I will never set foot in this hospital again and highly suggest you don't either. My wife's gal bladder is now operating 100 %, she is still tired from lingering toxins, and three weeks after discharge received the results of a second tic screening that she in fact contracted ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPOTTED FEVER ...... GO FIGURE?!?!

$2400 for a 2 cm cut on the forehead, the child was not in the slightest bit of discomfort in the waiting room and we asked the attending nurse if it was worth getting the physician to close the wound, she said it would be reasonable and worth it to avoid scaring. Turned out the cut was two small for stitches and the cut was glued. Total visit to the ER took about 2 1/2 hours, 5 mins of which was with the Doctor. Expensive glue... Update just got cost breakdown, $573 just to sit in the ER this is their facility fee, $954 for services provided, than an additional $900 is being booked for the Doctors services, I asked what the difference between the $900 and $954 services were and neither the hospital nor the third party staffer knew they just assured me that they were for different things as they are not allowed to double book services......

Poor customer service experience. I was underage and had drank a bit too much, passing out at a friend's house. They couldn't wake me up so they took me to the hospital and planned on waiting for me there. The physician/nurse told them that only family members were allowed to wait and ask for the progress of my health (bullshit) and they left a phone number with the nurses so they could contact them in order for me to be picked up. I wake up in a haze with a very cold uncaring nurse checking up on me, asking me for an alternate phone number due to the fact that they could not contact my friends. I wasn't able to think about any numbers at the moment besides my home phone, so I stated that I didn't know any. The nurse then proceeded to tell me that if I didn't come up with a phone number, they would call the cops due to the fact that I had been drinking while underage. Really? I'm incoherent and incapacitated on a bed and you're threatening to have me hauled off to jail? I finally spit out my sister's number due to the fact that I had to rack my brain who then gave them my brother's who lived an hour away from me. Needless to say, he was able to get me me home and cared for me much better than the hospital staff. I'm sure not all are bad. But that particular person should be fired. Not to mention that the physician billed me and it went to a collection agency. I called around and did a lot of work to find out who and where I should send the money to. Surprise, surprise---NO ONE has the bill.

Sucks brought son here sick fever dizzy headache coughing there were only 2 other people here then been waiting going on 2 hrs and lobby is full now still haven't been called back to see Dr this place sucks I shouldve just went and bought NYquil for us both

Nicole Hancock

Glad to see this sorry excuse of a hospital is under fire after that video of Marconia Kessee was released. Who else besides those cops should be held liable? The hospital that turned him away. Are your staff so incompetent that they can't recognize when someone is having a medical emergency and needs their help, so they call police to DRAG him away instead? I hope his family sues this hospital and people here lose their jobs.

Extra Purrestrial

I've worked in kennels where animals were treated with more dignity, respect, and compassion. My final and worst visit to this place, I was given very personal test results in a very unprofessional manner. Rough and almost disrespectful behavior during sensitive exams. Unexplained lab results I had to fetch from medical records later myself that turned out to be rather important and now a very agonizing journey to outside city hospitals where maybe my dr will look me in the eyes and not just walk in, throw papers at me and tell me I'm good to go and follow up with a primary.

Aimee Jones

Absolutely disgusted by the lack of comment from the hospital regarding their policies and the way they treated someone who clearly needed SOME sort of medical attention. God forbid someone else with a headache bad enough to go to the hospital seeks help from you. Shame on your entire administration and shame on the staff that interacted with this man.

Got brought in by ambulance for a snake bite on my foot on Sunday June the 11the the error staff was amazing I was taken to the 3rd floor to ICU the staff there was amazing then it was the 13th of June at at 1:30 the Dr came in Dr Rogers see 8 can't put any weight on my foot because of where I was bitten and he came in asked if I was ready to go home witch I am he is sending me home with no crutches because I'm young the fact of the matter I can't put any pressure on my foot it is now 5:10p.m and I am still here with an Iv in my arm and I'm still because the nurse hasn't done her job and distchrage me or any of the other patients she was supposed to be discharging this is ridiculous

Robert King

Do not give this place your SSN! Operation was PAID IN FULL before they would work on me in 2011. Then they gave my personal information to scamers for an already paid bill. Every 2 years I call NRH and they say it's already went to collections and there is nothing we can do. This place needs to be shut down and investigated. There is no "undoing" the damage this place has caused to my SSN. To protect my credit, I no longer go to the hospital.

Michelle Peterson

Horrible experience last fall. Was left in the waiting area in excruciating pain for over an hour with multiple kidney stones. Tried multiple times to get their attention and ended up vomiting from the pain because no one cared to do anything. Even the doctor who eventually ended up seeing me told me to just brush it off until I demanded to have a CT scan. 10/10 would not recommend. The nurse was the only positive thing about this whole experience.

I have had previous problems with my appendix, and I kept getting told it was stomach ulcers. The doctor kept saying "the pain is in your stomach" and I kept saying no it's coming from the area my appendix is. I sat in there for an hour before being taken back, and sat in the back for almost 4 hours. The lady that drew my blood was the only person that did their job well.

Jason

Worst ER experience I've ever had. My friend was having chest pains, lightheaded, etc. All they did was hook her up to an EKG for 20 seconds, make sure she wasn't having a heart attack and check her electrolytes. Simultaneously they accused her of using energy drinks or workout drinks, of which she uses neither but they kept asking. That took over 5 hours, most of which nothing happened. We were left in the room for hours unattended. I had to open the door, walk to the counter and ask someone to take her to the restroom at hour 4. Most of the staff was standing around talking in the halls. One of the nurses said they'd bring some more fluid, but it never happened. It took them over 2 hours to test to see if she was having a heart attack through enzymes. Good thing she wasn't because she'd probably be dead. Overall the stay could have taken 30 minutes with the tests they ran. I had to firmly demand we be discharged after 5 hours since they told us they'd be right back with the discharge papers 90 minutes before that. As it turns out, she was having heart issues and had they had the EKG hooked up the duration of the visit, they'd probably have been able to determine it. However, they left her feeling worse than when she arrived and told her to drink some fluids.

Terribly and unethical billing practices. Harassing patients daily to pay despite making regular substantial payments towards their bill, submitting insurance information incorrectly, and sending patients to collection and reporting it on their credit even when they are paying each and every single month. Sharing your frustrations with executives and liaisons gets you no where. I've never in my life seen a hospital operate in this manner, much less a publicly funded one! I'd rather risk my life than deal with this incompetent devil ever again.

Dont waste your time going to this er you will not be seen for hours.

This review is for the ER. BEWARE, my son, (student at OU from Colorado) came into the emergency room with nausea and horrible abdomen pain. After they said they did an MRI they diagnosed him with Dyspepsia and sent him home with medications for vomiting, acid reflex and medication for an ulcer. Which you could not diagnose from an MRI. Next morning early arrived back at the emergency room with the same symptoms only worse, he had to come in with a wheelchair. He was then seen and was told he had ulcers and was dehydrated. Sent home with pain medications and gel for nausea. Treated like he was a bother and told to follow up with a GI doctor on Monday. Suffered through the weekend very ill. I called the GI office was told he could not be seen until Tuesday. I then sent him back to the ER with much hesitation and no trust in there ability, I then spoke with the ER doctor and said he would not be leaving until they figured out what was wrong. Both previous visits my son asked about his appendix, they said was definitely not that. In fact they asked him twice if he had his appendix removed. After being blatantly diagnosed, my son had emergency surgery for his perforated appendix and abscess. Then due to the negligence of the ER he spent 6 days in the hospital very, very sick. Be very careful of this emergency room.

billy riley

Meh, just an emergency room.. That has saved my life

God forbid you're black/poor, this hospital will call the cops on you. Marconia Kessee needed medical help, but the hospital called the cops on him instead and thought he was just a junkie. He died because of neglect and rough treatment by the cops. This death is not only in the hands of the police, but because of this hospital's decision to call the cops on their patient.

Idiots! My husband fell from a roof and tried catching himself with his hand. Well he ended up bending back his whole arm to where he said he could feel it snapped, it got real big and the size of a baseball. We ended up here and was seen. They took Xrays.. And came and said it was dislocated and that it would go back to normal 2 to 3 days later. NEVER seen a doctor, not once did one step in to take a look at the arm. This place is a joke! On top of that no meds??? Non friendly environment.

Abdullah Fathi

Coming here was a waste of time. I told them my pain level, for my toothache, was an 8 and I barely was able to even drive here. They offered no relief other than saying they are sending a prescription and to see a dentist. Apparently the idea od being in pain doesnt register to them

April Shea

This ER is worthless! They sent my 75 year old Mother home (to my house) with a ripped muscles and a low dose of pain medicine.because it wasn't broke, she wasn't important enough cause nothing was broken, no suggestions to what it could be wrong. Today we had an ambulance take her to The HEALTHPLEX in Norman. They did a cat scan and found nothing, so she needs an MRI. They were going to send her home too but I started asking questions about what it could be. Then I told them she needed stronger pain meds and an anti inflammatory and she is actually able to walk. Never go to Norman Regional ER. If you see a Dr. Zimmerman RUN!

Jason Gentry

Had a knee replacement. This hospital did a great job start to finish.

Kim H

This er has been the worst er ive ever been to in my life I agree with the other to youll get a bill and little to no actual service I contracted MRSA FROM THEM I had gotten bitten by a dog They didn't clean out my leg properly and Then they didn't staple my leg back to together so now i have a bigger scar then i should have since the staple fell out since theyer incompotent! Also They will treat u like a drug addict if you simply ask for pain management treatment Ive been in 6 wrecks and had back surgery They seem not to care for peopel but to just rush u out the door with a see someone else view .. No they should fix u ! this is america Dont GO there even if your dieing youll GET STAFF MRSA

melisa hennessy

A simple gall bladder surgery turned into a life threatening situation because they put a staple in the wrong spot and caused the patient to go septic. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE!!

Jen Smith

BEWARE BEFORE GOING HERE!!!! TERRIBLE emergency room staff! A friend went in for a kidney stone attack in severe pain in the lower back and around to her front flank and all the staff would do was give an IV of normal saline and zero pain medications. They diagnosed acid reflux after running a urine test and a blood test and gave a concoction of lidocaine for my friend to drink, which was immediately vomited back up. When we went to leave, the nurse was rough taking out the IV and gave little care when pressure wrapping it with tape and a cotton ball. To top off this bullshit, they laughed at my friend during discharge and were heard saying "No other doctor will tell them any different". We have been there before within the last few months for the same thing and they didn't care that time either! NEVER go in for an emergency, you will get laughed out the door and told that their ER is "limited" so they cannot do much testing.

SHAWN MCGLONE

The staff at the norman ER were turse and in general rude. My son was in pain from sunburn. Blistered with open sores...they prescribed no medication...when I asked what to do for pain...they suggested over the counter medication. I'm now in to see our family Doctor. If I had to do it again I would drive to OKC even though I live in norman. If the general population were this derelect at work they would be fired. Inspite of the self reviews and contribed satisfaction surveys... this place is horrible... don't believe their self proclaimed hype. Shawn McGlone

Anna Zamarripa

I was recently here at Norman Regional Hospital, for almost a week.I was treated with the upmost care and understanding,I want to Thank all of the Wonderful Women and Men that cared for me. (Floors,3000-4000).KRISTIN ,LYNDSY, AMANDA, SHERRY, MARY, ANGELA, JO D, LESLIE, RONNI, PAT, JESICA, MR. BARRY AND OF COURSE MY DR.SHAHSARNI. I know that there are numerous people throughout the hospital that keep it running perfectly and if there is anyone that i forgot to mention i apologize. NORMAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL,THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART,YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS.

Declan Riordan

I don't know what pill-headed losers have been rating this hospital so low, but we had a wonderful experience. The staff was so accommodating and helpful and every section was very clean. This is a wonderful hospital.

J Meek

Nurses and on duty staff have been very nice. However my husband was sent here to get a procedure by a stomach doctor from memorial in Lawton. (Because memorial didn't have one on call) and we sat here waiting for 3hrs for the doctor to come in. At the very least I would have liked to know that he wasn't even planning on coming in for 3 hrs.

chyenne damron

This hospital is one of the worst on wait time in both the waiting room and in a room. I was in the waiting room for 4 hours before they finally took me back and I was in quite a bit of pain .

Stacey Hemby

I feel like I was looked down upon because I didn’t have insurance. I am a type 1 diabetic and went in because my numbers were crazy high and I had uncontrollable vomiting. They gave me a bag of fluids and some nausea meds. I was sent home with in 3 hours. Any other time I’ve been in to a hospital they have given me way more care and made sure I was 100% before discharging me. Hell they didn’t even wheel me out. I was told you can walk on out to the lobby we are done with you. I have never had that bad of an experience. I guess what they say about not having insurance and getting treated different is true.

Cindy Todish Brown

I am very adamant about researching businesses prior to investing in their services. Based SOLELY on the BLANK RESPONSES from NORMAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL STAFF are copying and pasting for responses to complaints is a big RED FLAG to me. If you are advertising quality care and professionalism within your organization, you CAN NOT reinforce this with the Staff responses showing nothing less, the the reviews are the proof in the pudding. Example 1: complaints on billing department employee's performance issues Example 2: Response from NRH staff....type reviewers name in form letter, copy, paste, click= Professional, compassionate, caring. One and done. One size fits all. Love honest reviews. May reconsider my choices for my health care if things don't stay looking better. Cindy Brown Moore, Ok

Ronald Johnson

Thank you all for the compassion and the professionalism that was shown to both our father and our family while he was under your care. We were asked so many times if we needed anything and they were always there ready and available to assist if needed. The doctors, nurses and sitters were outstanding. So nice! They went above and beyond in every way. Thank you!

S Vir

I went for a urine drug screen for my son. They sent me to MMC saying that the screen is assigned to that hospital. I asked them about the timing and she claimed it would be the same. When I went to MMC, they said that they don't do UDS there at all, and they don't know why i was sent here. Very poor customer service.

Madison Russell

besides waiting around 6.9 hours just to be assessed and placed into a room, the people here look homeless & let me tell ya, I was slightly concerned for my safety. one man blatantly stuck his hand in his pants and left it there while simultaneously tweaking out like he was having withdrawals from drugs. anyways, SLOWEST place in the world. I never want to see this place again. doesn’t deserve any stars at all

James Reddell

They saved my brother's life. He was experiencing rapid organ failure, he was dying and they got him better. He said the nurses were great and the food was awful but discovered he could order soup and sandwich and he was content at that point. Seems folks are quick to criticize and fail to remember that there is a patient advocate that is glad to help patients that feel there is something lacking in their stay. It's not a hotel, it's a hospital.

Chris Adams

Super great nurses, she got the IV in the first go! They all made sure my wife and I were comfortable and answered any questions we had.

Alexis Block

Very very nice people, and fast.

Luis Salvatierra

Don't go there. More than 2 hrs waiting in the ER. We were waiting for x-ray and the nurse just come to give my wife some medicine that was for another patient.

Anita Pallenberg

Worst ER I've ever had the misfortune of needing to use. Dr. Matthew Davis, DO, has zero bedside manner and never examined me. During my seven hour stay, he spoke to me a total of 20 seconds. My husband couldn't believe it. He sent me home still vomiting profusely, telling me I had the stomach flu and to "deal with it at home." I had to return via ambulance a few hours later. I finally got a decent ER physician who sat and talked with me (when I could take a break from vomiting to talk). He ordered a CT scan and other tests. I had to have emergency gallbladder removal surgery. Had Dr. Matthew Davis listened to me or ordered just one test, I wouldn't have had to use their ambulatory services. He was so rude to me that I was afraid of returning. I'm glad I didn't let him intimidate me bc my gallbladder was extremely close to rupturing. I hope I never have to use their ER again.

Kenneth Smith

I came here with the flu and they just told me to take over the counter stuff from Wal-Mart

Rosie Rosie

This hospital employs such rude and nasty staff. Everyone, BEWARE of the racism and agression you're bound to be greeted with if Shauna Scrivner is attending you. Very unprofessional. As for the hospital: be careful of who you hire, because your patients will obviously not have good bedside manner when coming into contact with that racist. As an FYI, please note that the attached screenshot shows that Shauna was the only one that aggravated and harrassed somebody going all the way to send private message displaying her racism. without reason she harrases people of color. Apparently in her version of America, we are not allowed any free speech because if you voice your opinion and she disagrees, she will dox you, find your information, and if you're black, voice her nasty judgement. If you're black, stay away from her.

Frank Wick

I had to go to the emergency on two occasions. One was for what I felt was some erratic heart rate issue and the other was to bring a friend in who had been trapped in his car during the Christmas Blizzard of 2009. My experience was rather annoying. I saw 8 or 9 people in the hour I was there and had any number of tests run. No one explained much and no one suggested anything other than a nice nurse who recommended a heart specialist I could see. It was a wash. Hundreds of dollars later I knew no more than I knew going in. It was like McDonald drive-thru. The time I took my friend in for hypothermia I had to pester people to simply explain to me why my friend was acting drunk and verbally abusive. It seems when a person is that cold they are not able to manage themselves and are simply delirious. No one would comment for the first hour. I had to keep asking why he was cursing and struggling to get out of bed. After he was warmed up some they sent him on his way. No one suggested anything like what to do when we got him home. No one seemed phased that he was still staggering and confused. He walked to the front door with his girlfriend and myself. No one came close to helping us. This is after I coaxed someone into explaining he was near death while stuck in his car for 5 hours in zero degree temps. I would have taken him elsewhere after my experience but it was the closest ER I knew of. Long story short: don't expect much from them expect a large bill.

I don't get it

Went there with severe dizzy spells, unsure if I was having a heart attack. The doctor kept asking if I was taking illegal drugs etc. The attention given to me changed when they found out I had health insurance.

Markie Hales

Very pleased with my care at NRH ER

Abby Denney

The ER staff is very nice. The only concern I had was there are so many people that come in and ask questions and it’s the same questions. I’m guessing residents? Nurses training? I answered the same stuff over and over. You can also tell your care team don’t communicate very well with each other. Other than that I got great care and the help I needed. The place is clean and the receptionist and triage nurse were very friendly.

Heather Fewell

Was experiencing dehydration from having food poisoning for 5 days. I was confused and slighly incoherent. They made my husband and I feel like I was a drug addict. They kept asking me what I was on... and health questions when obviously I wasnt in the right mind set to answer. They gave me fluids which helped tremendously but comes back with everything is good, even making it a point to say ohh your electrolytes were all good too. then looking at me like ok what do you have to say about that. sent me home Im still having chills, and issues stemming from this. I was not even asking for pain meds. I just wanted answers and to stop vomiting/peeing out of my butt. NOT EVERYONE IS A DRUG ADDICT!!! made me feel really embarassed. Obviously my blood work came back that I had no drugs or alcohol in my system.... the nurses were kind enough. Front check in and triage were jerks.

PATRICK WREN

My God...just saw the video of how this hospital treats sick people seeking help. Shameful. I would imagine the family of Marconia Kessee will own much of the hospital when this is over. The doctor responsible for this treatment (or lack thereof) should lose his/her license. Shameful!

Brittany Hannah

They are very slow about taking care of you. The nurses sit talking about how they hate their job. I sat in the ER forn6nhours to be taken care of. If you're not dying then they don't bother taking care of you quickly.

Cynthia LeMaster

One of the security guards tried to kick me out of the er because my ride was taking too long! Also told me that I was no longer welcome!

B Riley

Had to bring a family member to ER during Saturday night shift. Overall we were very impressed with the quality of care from the wait time to treatment. ♡ God Bless the staff ♡

Matthew Tappe

Slow, blood on the wall in the room we were in, doctor tried telling us how big his penis was

Lorna Simmons

I would not suggest you send someone here that you love and want to get better. This hospital sent my sister home with an infected foot and she was septic. Her daughter took her to OKC and they said she was very close to dying. She ended up losing her foot. She had insurance so there wasn't any risk that they wouldn't get paid. They are too quick to send someone home without making sure all is well.

James Maxwell

ER generally moves quickly to get you through triage and into a room. Once back there it's a little slower moving but not terrible. Communication with staff is good and they usually have volunteers that are helping in getting drinks, blankets etc. The hospital has been a different experience. I have had close friends that have had horrible experiences. But I thankfully can't speak of any from personal experience.

Irania Cuellar

Yeah my husband nearly passed the kidney stone in the ER lobby and staff seemed unconcerned, it was broad daylight too

Ricardo Cañedo

Marconia Kesse died after being transfered into police custody. It was obvious the man had a mental illness and should of been sent to a crisis centre instead. I'm ashamed that this hospital doesn't look out for the welfare of their patients.

Queen of the Seas

I work there!

Alicin Kerr

We love this hospital we got insurance so my wife could see her favorite doctor here we called made sure they accepted it bought it and then affective jan 1 they quit taking it we would of made sure durring open enrollment to purchase the correct insurance but instead we have to get a new dr for my wife to see ao vary disappointed

Everett Slavik

Great staff and doctors! Very caring and attentive to your needs.

Christy Frankovich

The nurses and staff Here were amazing!

Yu Qiu

Incompetent and Insensitive. I called the Norman Hospital lab twice in a month to verify that I could drop off a sample for the lab at the Healthplex on Tecumseh, and I was told that I could--"any of our facilities will be able to accept the sample". I showed up at the Healthplex, and the Healthplex staff said I had to go to the hospital on Porter and Robinson. It was a time sensitive lab sample, and when I arrived at Norman Regional, the staff at the lab was unprofessional and uncaring about the fact that they had misinformed me. My first and last experience with Norman Regional Hospital.

Lezlee Price

I must say as a provider myself the ICU, floor nurses on 5th floor NE, and 3rd floor oncology were 99% awesome. What a trying stent in the hospital for my dad. We could not have made it without you!!! The caring, love of nursing is not gone as I thought it was!!!! Thank you for your time, love and patience!!! I wish I could thank you individually!!!! Dr. Love and Dr Nguyen took the time to involve themselves in my dads extremely complicated case with “over 15 diagnosis” and counting. They did everything possible in such a loving caring manner, involving the family AND calling the long distant medical family member keeping them updated. They went over and above!!! As for the PT and OT group stellar. They know when to push and when he needed rest. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!!

andy Scarborough

Horrible service needs shut down. Employee eating in er room. Acting like there are doing there job. Sunday 9 pm on the 29th. Than she started off being really rude and fake. Quality of the hospital went straight down toliet

Jenny Gregory

I wouldn’t send my dog to this joint. They don’t even deserve 1 start maybe shut this place down. Friend went into psychiatric unit and didn’t come out alive.. would like answers to who failed their job here.

Pixie D

I have lupus, along with a list of conditions that leads me to the ER often. I just moved to a small town by norman, and had to go to the hospital due to a pain in my back so bad that I could not walk, or move. Other then the fact that they stopped my breathing by over medicating me. They were rude, and because of what they did to me, all the other hospitals in which is owned by norman reginal will not help me at all. Mind you, I am on pain management, that works really well, and am never in for pain, or medication, now though I am treated like scum because they messed up.

Taylor Story

I would honestly give this hospital zero stars if I were able. I have been here thrice, and once was in an ambulance. The main problems with this place are 1. the doctors in the ER are completely dismissive, especially towards younger, female patients 2. the nurses in the ER have no idea how to properly put in an IV and 3. my ER doctor send me home, after being rushed in an ambulance from Noble because of severe chest pains and difficulty breathing, with a “clean bill of health”. This was Jan 4. of 2018. I was back in the ER on the 11th for the same thing, only I had passed out while sitting down. It took 3 more weeks and I was finally diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, after having it for at least 7 or 8 months. I will NEVER return to this hospital for care. Ever. They are completely dismissive of their patients. And this photograph? It was my arm after a nurse BLEW my vein, and then proceeded to my other arm and stuck me, and blood went everywhere - all over me, the bed, and my clothes. Don’t take your children here.

Jasmin Chevis

I was feeling chest pain, fluid loss, and much more. Went into ER. I was seen quickly. While I was in there for a few hours, I felt well taken care of. Warm blankets. Friendly nurses. Doctors were nice too though I can tell the nurses do a lot of the work. Based on my experience, I would go back. Then again I am young, late 20s. I was probably the youngest patient in there.

Charles Craig

Half the time they don't know what they are doing. Massive impotence and disorganization. Avoid altogether if you can. You're better off in a rural hospital.

Tina Woodruff

Outpatient Diagonostic is a nightmare they never take you back for your scheduled test they alway change the time even after being told by 3 different people what time your test is they still make you wait 4 hours for a scan. This is very wrong of them to do this to very ill people. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Brandy Waugh

The most horrific horrible place on the face of the earth. You will die if you go here. Incompetent doesn't even begin to describe the drs

Paul Kelley

If you're in the process of passing kidney stones and want to wait in an Emergency Room for 2 1/2 hours, Norman Regionals the best place to go.

Serogia Ashby

Great Hospital!!!

Dalton Shatswell

They cared about my health and cared about my well being. I got into a car crash and I flew out the windshield and they took amazing care of me

Kirklyn Eaton

I went in on June 24th with a knee injury. They basically told me over the course of two hours how much I messed up my knee (yeah no kidding), didn't even listen to what I said happened to me (I keep getting calls about how I need to give my car insurance but I wasn't in a car wreck), and then proceeded to give me a children's brace that cost me, wait for it, $900!!!!! I am 5'7" 165 pounds with very thick thighs. When I went in to my actual doctor she literally said "you poor thing no wonder you can't sleep this is for children!" They were also completely wrong with what they told me was wrong with me, and told me everything I thought happened was completely wrong. My knee surgeon laughed when I told her this and said "you were spot on with everything you said, you obviously know your body better than everyone how disrespectful of them."

Steve Burleson

Omg. A few really great doctors and nurses at this facility, sadly though they are surrounded by a huge village of idiots who are only here for a paycheck. The employees types Show no sense of urgency that I have observed. Side note. I’ve never seen so many obese size employees working at a hospital. Very very disappointing

frankie910

Just got back from taking my friend to the ER. She saw Dr. Cody and another Dr. They were both really nice. Most the staff were also nice and helpful. Was generally pleased with this visit until the discharge nurse named Karen came in. She was rude and made mean comments about my 9 year old son. Mr friend even make a comment that Karen was pretty rough about what she was saying about my child. Karen was also was a bit aggressive when taking out the IV. When my friend was changing back into her clothes, Karen knocked on the door and my friend asked her to wait just a minute since she was half naked, but Karen opened the door and pulled open the curtain anyways to put the wheelchair into the room. I hope someone talks to Karen and puts her in check.

Justin B

Radiation outpatient services had my grandma sit in a waiting room for 2 hours just to have a doctor come in and watch her take a pill that literally took less than a minute and then she left. Then she was informed she had to be quarantined for 3 days and she couldn't come 6 feet to any living thing. The doctor, Dr. Mirza, and nurse's lack of warning and dare I say care for my grandma caused her emotional distress and I will never go to a hospital that treated my grandma this poorly.

Susan Diane Brown Drucker

The care staff is short staffed for the patients they care for, but they do an incredible job all things considered.

Alex Quance

Shattered my foot, only 2 other people in the ER when I came in and wasn’t seen for a while. Forgot to give me painkillers til 2 hours in, then prescribed Tylenol weaker than the over the counter stuff. Seriously. Been in excruciating pain all weekend. They were nice, but I couldn’t care less in an ER, just get it treated. They had absolutely Zero sense of urgency.

flores kayla

So slow... I've been waiting almost 5 hours

G. Scott Chausse

Always good experiences. Saved my tail many times.

Stace Kittenz

It was terrible, the doctor was in for maybe 2 mins didn't listen to me. Then later on after being there for 5 HOURS and doing unnessery x rays comes in and tells me its probably my gallbladder and doesn't test it out! when I ask why they said we only do it when its an emergancy. WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK IM IN THE ER THEN!?!?!?!?! Staff was rude and all on top of that poked me 4 times before someone found my viens. Absolutely terrible. I hope they are not planning on getting paid for that visit.

Tawni Wann

Went in on 9/14/16 for a seizure and had the worst experience of my life. They hardly came in and checked on me at all and I was there all day pretty much. And I'm pregnant to top it off. They gave me an ultrasound and the tech couldn't find the fetus.. so they said they would have a different tech come in and they rolled the ultrasound equipment and never came back. Then the whole time I was there also, my IV was very uncomfortable and stuck wrong in my arm. I said something to 3 different nurses and.. Nothing.. Of course. I hate this hospital so much. You guys have to worse staff ever. Purcell hospital is even better than this one. You guys are even the reason of my dads death. He passed away 2/16/15. He was in the hospital for 6 days (went in on the 10th). He was hurting the whole time and you guys were giving him 5mg norcos for pain. Someone who has stage 4 cancer, 5mg of hydrocodone will not do s***! So he asked for something different and you guys administer a syringe full of morphine!! Someone who had never even had morphine in their life. You don't move someone to 5mg hydrocodone, straight to morphine. There were other options like Percocet or something. And since you gave him all that morphine, he went into cardiac arrest and died. Did you also know morphine should not be given to patients that are malnourished??! If you guys weren't idiot ass doctors and nurses you would know that. You're lucky I didn't request an autopsy (didn't know about the morphine when I told them no autopsy), or you guys would have been sued!! I have lots of other friends who have had family members that died from your poor care. Norman Regional is the WORST OF THE WORST.

Shelly Davidson

I unfortunately had no other option at the time than to use Norman Regional facilities and their completely incompetent so called Doctors. I've had so many bad encounters, terrible 'professional" opinions, and don't even get me started on a total waste of my time. Thank God that after talking to several others that have had the same horrific experiences I was able to find wonderful and caring okc Doctors that actually took the time to listen and in return was I am on track and doing much better. As for a dear friend of mine that visited Norman Regional ER a couple nights ago will never be able to see he's family again. All due to the incompetent Doctors not being able to remotely find one hint of a heart attack. After the again "so called" Dr's decided to release their patient, he collapsed from a heart attack and died. Just steps away from the front door of the Norman regional ER. all the while every bit of the traumatic experience was right in front of his wife and two small boys. These children will never get their father back due to Norman regional and the lack of professional and actual Doctors that can treat patients not kill them in front of their families! If anything can be said its that Norman regional should be closed or at least taken over by someone that knows how to hire individuals capable of saving lives not taking them at the age of 43. I implore everyone to think twice about entering the doors of any facility owned by Norman regional. PLEASE DO NOT USE NORMAN REGIONAL IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!

Lindsay Easley

Oncology was not too friendly or helpful. Should be the nicest & caring floor in my opinion.

Amanda Anonymous

Color Blast

There are some doctors who should never ever been able to become a doctor. HORRIBLE and RUDE to a 11 year old little girl. going to get a second opinion this doctor is known for just shoving people out the door as fast as they come in.

J Cordell

On May 20th 2013 My Mom was in the Tornado and was taken to Norman Hospital. She was looked at, stitched up and let go. She had a cut on her head that was still bleeding and we found out later she had a concussion. She had a deep cut on her arm that was stitched up. We did not receive any directions when we left. A week later her arm was not looking good. It was turning green and liquid substances was coming out. She was taken to Baptist Hospital and they found dirt, grass, and wood in her arm. She spent a week in the hospital. The Baptist bill was paid in full with her insurance, but Norman sent her a bill. If Norman knew how to file insurance they would have been paid in full. She would not let me handle it and she paid the bill. I am still thinking of suing. J Cordell

I have had multiple experiences with Norman Regional Hospital. Some in the past have not been very good but overall the care was acceptable. Every time I have been to NRH it has been due to pancreatitis. My most recent visit which was in July 2019 was mostly good except a small issue with pain mgmt that was worked out. I had one nurse named Megan who was pretty rude and in no rush when I needed something. Dr Chacko was not the best hospitalist I have ever been seen by either. He always seemed in a rush or too busy for me if the nurse called him. My nurse called him about one of my meds and he lowered the dose and switched to something else then hung up the phone while the nurse was mid word. Fortunately he was going off shift soon and my nurse just asked the new dr on call and he corrected the problem. A big issue for me was the diet the expect bariatric patients to consume... I provided a pic below of one meal that was sent up. It smelled horrible like rotten fish. I don’t care for fish but will eat it occasionally however this fish looked and smelled inedible. As you can tell they offered me no alternative or choices.

Charles Smith

First off, the staff was GREAT! However, if you're private pay, it goes drastically downhill from there. We had a miscarriage and spent about an hour and a half at the ER and then ended up in a room at Norman Regional for about 12 hours where nurses would pop in for routine checks. There were no procedures done, and no special treatment of any kind...we got a bill for over $12,000. Literally, less than 20 minutes total with a doctor, a nurse cleaning up and being very kind (best part of the whole deal) and then routine check ins before discharge...$12,000 rape doesn't begin to describe the feeling. NEXT!! Then, the next year (2015) we were pregnant again and had a child. Due to my previous experience with outrageous billing, I refused to leave the facility without getting and paying my bill in full. We had the most amazing delivery...checked in and out of the hospital in exactly 24 hours, everything was routine and perfect. No surprises at all. My bill was $4,200, which seems a bit high under such perfect circumstances but I was happy to have a healthy wife and baby so it paled in comparison. I made sure the billing office even signed the bottom of my statement saying this was a final bill and no further charges would be incurred. Well, guess what? LIE!! they then tried to bill me for another $3,200 on top of what I already paid! They turned us into collections for the $3,200, which isn't rightfully owed. After much dispute and investigation, it looks like they're going to waive the $3,200, but what a nightmare!! Billing is all over the place at Norman Regional. If other industries conducted business this way, we'd see lawsuits every day... Customer: "I'd like a #4 with an unsweet tea, please, but I don't see prices, how much is that?"... Order Taker: "Go ahead and place your order, you actually pay after you eat". Customer: "Oh, ok.....All finished, what's my total" Order Taker: "That will be $1,275" Customer: "WHAT!? That's like a $6 meal? Order Taker: "CALL COLLECTIONS!!!" Healthcare needs some MAJOR REFORM!!!

Jennifer Ridenour

This is the worst hospital, the e.r. Dr.s have no idea what they are talking about, they argue that my dads Dr. is not the specialist that he sees him for, they didnt even due blood work on my father that is in kidney failure. Due not go to this hospital they will send you home to die just like they did my brother and he did pass away.

George Gillum

I went to the ED on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience despite terrible circumstances. Dr. Hill, Dr. Phillips, and nurse Rebecca were so compassionate and thorough, and informative. They took very good care of me and were so kind. I got to the back very quickly also! I'm so grateful to them!

rajalakshmi vijay

I had my 2nd delivery there. They have caring nurses and they helped very well. One thing i loved was their skin to skin with newborn after delivery i missed skin to skin with my 1st one.Delivery room is pretty big and have chairs an the postpartum room have one pull out bed for guest.

Josie A. Winter

We went in to get a boil addressed. We seen Dr. Carrie Barton, and she was very helpful and professional. The Dr. Used an ultra sound throughout the procedure and eveven used it to verify it was drained. Ended up being about a golfball sized and deep. Fantastic visit.

Marissa Foster

This place is absolutely ridiculous. Being in the medical field myself I can say that they do things so backwards in the ED. My husband shattered his wrist and when they did an xray I told them they need to do an xray further up and they reassured me they knew what they were doing. They came back and said his pink was dislocated and the snapped it back in place. When my husband saw his orthopedic at OU they told him whoever put his pink back in place caused even more damage. We gave benefit of a doubt when that happened and for some reason came back 2 weeks later after my husband had multiple seizures. We have now been waiting for 4 hours in the patient exam room with no doctor or nurses checking up. This place is a joke and makes me ashamed of my career. This is exactly the reason why the medical field has such a bad reputation. Patient care is lousy here!!!

they don't deserve even one star! my grandparents are not in good health and my grandpa has been getting lost easy... He was trying to find a bathroom and went to the emergency door and set off the alarm. The lady at the desk yelled at him saying "What are you doing??? Can you not read??". It was an accident and he was very embarrassed. The lady was rude. Her actions were unacceptable! Someone needs to do something about this. People are in the hospital because they are ill/sick. Family and friends are already stressed and emotional over loved ones who are admitted. Staff need to be considerate, kind hearted, helpful and nice!!!!! Patients and family deserve to be treated with respect.

I must admit, I do not like this place at all. I had a really good experience here when my daughter was born, but other than that I have seen nothing but unconcerned responses, half attempts at care to the elderly, and treatment bordering on insulting and incompetent from the emergency room staff. I don't want to go into details this one time I went up there with a friend, but I highly recommended seeking treatment elsewhere if it's an option. One star. ⭐️

Rude and very unprofessional. ....

They sent me to collections before ever sending me the bill. I paid the collections amount immediately and 7 months later they sent it to collections again. Now I have a collections on my credit report and they want me to pay my bill twice. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY WILL SCAM YOU.

Disgraceful place. The staff was the worst part. I was at an event in which I noticed a friend was having disconcerting symptoms (arm and shoulder pain/numbness) after having a couple drinks. I had first tried to find some late night clinics, because I was already wary of Norman Regional. (They sent my grandfather to the grave) but none were open. Once we arrived at NR, they rushed her to the back and I provided her insurance and ID. The nurse rolls her eyes and states to another nurse that she is underage (she's 20). I'M SORRY ARE YOU A NURSE OR A COP? After 45 minutes, they dump her out with a $3,000 charge and she doesnt even know what's wrong with her.

Sent a workman’s comp to collections without billing our insurance. It’s been a nightmare.

If I could give less I would. I threw out my back one night, and after 8 hours without it getting any better I was getting worried, so I broke down and had my boyfriend drive me to the ER (it was 3 AM, no other place to go). The doctor looked at me, asked what was wrong, prescribed a pain medication and a muscle relaxant and sent me on my way. No tests. No drugs administered. All I did was sit in a room for an hour and interact with a doctor for about 10 minutes. Today the bill arrived at my apartment. Almost $1000. WHAT? I called and asked for an itemized list of charges. There isn't one. It just says 'Emergency Department'. Apparently just for walking in the door it's $1000. Insane. Never going there again - who the hell pulled this number out of their butt?

My daughter came in after falling off of a horse. She had a CT scan. Which the staff that conducted this procedure were great. She was taken Immediately to a room. During the (maybe) 2 hours of being in the facility minus the time for the CT we received maybe 15 mins of care to include 2 tablets of medication a vomit bag and your standard lungs hearts eyes and ears examine you would get at your primary care doctors office. I recently recieved the bill and I am not contesting the over $5,000 dollars ( before insurance) . I am contesting the menial care she received during our stay. The facility charge was $2174.00. She was a level 4 which of course costs more, but after 3 phone calls and a final transfer to a fax number (which I had hoped would lead me to someone who could break down that charge) I am severely disappointed in this facility. The care was OK. But the charge does not equal the care or use of equipment ( no IV, no monitors, just a vomit bag). This place takes advantage of a rural community that is mostly land owners who make minimal income and the insurance companies (who we pay a tons of money to because of over charging). This facility made over $2,500 an hour off of me and my insurance for 2 hours in a room and 15 minutes of care. And no one has explained the justification of such charge. To the workers of Norman Regional Hospital... if you are making less than $30/ an hour, you are severely underpaid. They are cheating you out of money and taking advantage of the general populus. I will pay me insane bill because they did insure my daughter was is good health. But I am severely disappointed( frankly, I am irate) in this facility's business practices. This was at the Hospital in Noble.

This hospital missed my dads cancer for close to 8 months! We found out yesterday and the Cancer is bad. This hospital has the most careless doctors I know. Drive up further and go to the city!!
