REVIEWS OF ProMedica Toledo Hospital IN Ohio

Holy Ghost

ProMedica is one of the most sophisticated hospitals I have ever been in. Its clean and well organized. I had a family member admitted into the hospital and they did their best to try and help him. If you are ever in need of a good hospital then this is the one for you. The hospital staff are friendly and kind but very professional. I highly recommend this hospital for anyone that is willing to visit

Awful awful hospital. The surgery for my toddler went great, but the stay after was horrible. They did not explain that I would have to call and order my 16 month old food when he was hungry. When I did call it took an hour and a half to receive it. I asked for juice for his bottle and NEVER received it(but I opened our door and heard the nurses laughing away all night). It took an hour to get milk! Milk! And when I asked for cold water in my sons bottle they took it and brought it back with warm water! Seriously! Not very good care for $18,000!!! How about get off your cell phones and stop chatting and take care of your patients! I should be refunded my 4 grand out of pocket cost!

lola nunny

Completely unprofessional. The security guards are dramatic and racist. They follow you around as if your a criminal based off skin color. The hospital management is completely misdirected and unqualified they should all be fired. I will not continue my services there for m or my daughter.

Amber Weible

I would give 0 stars if it we're possible. They don't work with you on payment plans..it's their way or the highway. They are rude and have no sympathy. I'll go out of my way to be seen at another hospital. Promedica is a terrible company.

Nancy Douglas

I received excellent care in the ER when I broke my ankle, and just as excellent care during and after my surgery at ProMedica Wildwood Orthopedic and Spine Hospital.

John Harasim

Blurry tv channels in the rooms.....its 2018, and the amount of money they charge you to watch..........also only diet pop in the vending machines, but they sell candy and fruit juice?!.....

Victoria Brown

I had both my children at this hospital and they were amazing. My daughter was in NICU and they saved my daughters life. Love the nurse's!

The Toledo Hospital has really missed the mark where a women's bodily autonomy is concerned. The personal biases of a staff member should never trump the healthcare of a patient. In addition, the scientific illiteracy of a staff member should be immediately corrected, but sadly it was not. I was refused testing ordered by my physician determined to be necessary and even after explaining why that staff members refusal to treat was misaligned with scientific evidence, current bodily autonomy guidelines, etc., I was refused testing again. Once following up with the staff member's director I was again met with the same juvenile, uneducated, and incorrect view of the refusing radiologist. A single star for being a sad mistake in the realm of a woman's right to her own body.

Had surgery on 12/22/2015 first the prep nurse put Ivy in the wrist were it bends instead of on the forearm every time I bent my wrist pump alarm went off every 10 minents got no sleep. Site on Ivy became painful. When I asked to have urine cath removed even when complaining of cramps and burning sensation so I deflated the balloon and removed it myself. They need to use the viscous lanicane for men and ask if you prefer to have it done in the prep room instead of when you are unconcons I like my privacy. I don't care if they are medical professionals it's still no excuse for disrespecting your privacy. I told the floor nurse that they are lazy and don't want to help people to the toilet and that's why they didn't want to take out the cath. I told them to keep my door closed when they didn't even though I was a fall haserd I had to get up and close it myself so I could try to get what sleep I could. They left heart monitor leads on and I didn't know it so I got bruises from laying on them. I wish I could have went to Flower instead.

I was iffy to going here. I only go to St. Joe's healthcare. I had to take my 3 week daughter to the emergency bc of a cough. When I arrived, the hospital setting made me feel like I was at the U of M. Very nice, clean and friendly feel. The lady at registration was nice and helpful. When they took me back, the nurses were very attentive, through and gave me lots of information. It was quick wait for me, granted I was there before 1130am so I was in and out. Quick visit but I didn't feel rushed and I felt like they took the time to check her out and make sure she was all good. We were sent home and the nurse gave me through instr and showed me what i had to do and how to do it. So I was overall satisfy with this trip to the ER.

Taylor Steele

I did a five day EEG for epilepsy and the care was fantastic. The nurses were kind, caring, and always there when needed. Only bad thing was my student nurse's advisor was kind of rude to her which made things uncomfortable.

Dirty hospital

george gretzinger

Worst hospital experience.. lucky to get even 1star.

Kris Lantow

Dirty. I stayed with my mother, who was a patient, for four days. The elevator had trash on the floor that was never picked up. When she was moved to a different room, the new room hadn't been cleaned before she was moved in. There was food on the floor. During her time in that room, the shower was never cleaned. One of the nurses told us that she was being discharged without previously speaking to the doctor. The nurse was incorrect, by the way. Their neurology doctor's staff is absolutely horrible about returning phone calls. I have tried for a week to make a post hospital appointment with Dr. Kung. I got through once and was told they were too busy to talk to me and that they would call back in a half hour. Three days later, I called again and got a voicemail. Now, on day 4, I still havent heard from them. Never would I ever recommend this facility. Ever.

Leeann Cox

It was one of the most HATED experience I have had there. It was my first time going but the most i hated was the doctor or RN or whatever there called lied to me at the beginning. I would not recommend this hospital at all other experiences occurred that just wow this hospital should be shut down..!

Morgan Doll

Worst hospital in Northwest Ohio

Monica Quinney

The only reason for two stars is because of the few nurses and the dr. My daughter has had 3 inpatient procedures while I waited in the waiting room. After 1hr,which they told me it would be,no one came to tell me anything!, When I did ask about things my phone rings an it's my daughter saying she back in her room. Something needs to be done for communication after hours once the clerks leave the desk. Imagine waiting around an find out the whole procedure is over an the patient is now back in their room, while you thinking their in recovery. An of course no one answers the button to open the door or speak to you when you press it. It's a horrible horrible feeling not knowing what's going on with your loved one!

Daniel Lieser

Everybody was pretty awesome, though my nurse aid, Sara, was super cute and I would definitely ask for her # but it’s kinda impolite since you’re at work, so Sara hmu. I’m the guy with the throat problem that was in OBY-19. Anyway, everyone was knowledgeable and helped me get everything I needed and provided excellent overall service!

Dan

Awful experience, I am receiving treatment at University of Michigan and they told me to go get an ultrasound for possible blood clot. They called ER ahead of my arrival to make sure they would have tech. The Toledo hospital said they would put a note to fast track me so that I would get back before tech left. I waited roughly 50 mins and 10 mins before tech was to leave I went to desk and asked why I was being called back. By this point we were down to 2 people in the waiting room and three people who showed up after me were already called back. Nurse at desk said she would check and get back to me. 10 mins later she comes back and says all techs have gone home and there was nothing they could do for me. Toledo Hospital is just awful, it is not even near the health care you get at the university of Michigan.

No Happy This Time Around.Staff Needs Better Bedside Manners & The Food was Not Good.We are Very Disappointed. We were in the New Part of the Hospital & I Like the Old.Get It Together ProMedica

Judith Dickens

I had my first baby girl here and they were awesome my epidural did get messed up they hit the dura causing me to have an epidural headache but it was taken care of and they let me know as soon as it happened. The nurses were awesome! And the food is really good!

Sandra Baldwin

This hospital isn't worth a half of a star. The nurses and the staff on ever shift do things differently. Some say gown up some say no you don't have too. There are some of the nurses that don't follow the procedure themselves.

Jason Spring

Both of my children were born here and the staff in the maternity ward are great!

Mohammad Elahinia

Area's largest hospital.

Kannati Wolf Pack

These idiots don't know their ass from the hole in the ground! They told me I have raynauds yesterday at the emergency room because the palm of my hand turned blue!! Well, I called the rheumatologist today as directed, and they told me it is NOT raynauds because raynauds does NOT happen in WARM water!!! Don't go here. Like I said these guys are a bunch of IDIOTS!!!! If you aren't dying....they DON'T CARE about you! You are just another number in the BAND AID department.

Tom Michaels

I don't know how to start, for the most part the staff here is rude and act like its a huge deal to do their jobs. There were a few exceptions but they were to few to mention. Not to mention the emergency room visit we went through a few weeks ago. I wouldn't take my dog there in an emergency, that's what happens when your throw backs like we are the worst hospital in Ohio.

hippy channel

its a great hospital to go to

George Handel

Too expensive and not many people care about their patients. I'd rather go to a Mercy hospital.

Jason Zolman

Never liked this hoodrat filled hospital. Everything here takes forever.

Kristina Clark

I was on vacation in my hometown Toledo, Ohio, I got short of breath and family members took me to Promedica Toledo Hospital, I was taken in from the emergency room right away. I was admitted in the hospital for 4 days, everyone was professional and they took great care of me. When I was discharged I had appointments with my doctors here in California, Promedica Toledo hospital is a very good hospital. Thank you Promedica Toledo Hospital.

Brenda Jameson

New to myself as well as the nurses that took care of me after a 5 hour surgery. They did well as they saw fit for me, some weren't sure what I needed. They never had a patient with my kind of surgery. But they did the best they new how. So a many thanks to all the nurse's that help get me thru it. Still recovering and it has been 2 and a half weeks. 3 more months to go and then the swelling should hopefully be down by then.

Caitlin DeMasellis

I hope that when Cindy Osterhout has a family member pass away that she gets to deal with someone as rude and condescending as she was to me on the phone today.

Cynthia Bailey

I’ll start off by saying that this facility is horrible and if I could take my one star back, I would. The doctors have the nastiest attitudes ever. My neurologist canceled numerous appointments on me. The wait time to get in with a pcp or specialist is at LEAST 2 months. I was in extreme pain when I unfortunately had to be seen here. I told the nurse and resident that I haven’t ever felt this amount of pain before and I felt that something was not right. The reaction that they gave me was unbelievable. The nurse gave me a call light, plugged her computer up to the wall in the room, and left without saying anything. When she came back I asked her for an IBUPROFEN and she said she’d ask. Didn’t hear from her again for about an hour. I had an ultrasound and it wasn’t until the tech phoned the nurse and told her that i was in extreme pain, that she finally gave me Motrin. The worst experience thus far. The hospital charges are ridiculous! No compassion, terrible bedside manner, and the employees look miserable.

Jason Mark

Would give a sixth star if there was one

Ron Boyd

As I was looking out from the 9th floor viewing all the cars going in different directions, I thought about how so many folks are looking for God in different ways. The Bible says that there is one way to God. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order to save the world through Him." (John 3:16-17)

Viba Lewis

No wonder your hospital only has a 2.9 star rating! Had my daughter or i of known this before coming to the emergency room we sure would have considered going somewhere else that would or could have had her best interest of her health, how unprofessional to loose a urine sample and then send her home without one, the staff were all very rude and inconsiderate and my family and i will never be back to this hospital ever again because we are trying to live a long life and not die sooner than we should because of your neglagance!

Cheryl Drew

OB/GYN is suspected to contain invasive fungus/ black mold , do not put yourself in danger or your baby this needs to be investigated immediately as the staff is being diagnosed with these life threatening infections

Uncle Chuckles

Did a pretty good job. It was busy and did take a really long time . I understand. The doctor was knowledgeable. Very little chat though, seemed that way with a few people. Otherwise it was fine

Michael Scott

They saved my little granddaughters life and Ronald McDonald House putting up my son and his better half and gave them a place to stay did not cost them anything right next door to the hospital what a wonderful thing.

Dalana Hickman

I thought blue cross blue shield was good insurance. But they stuck my n a dirty room with trash on the floor.that was way n back of the ER. i didnt feel welcome here like i use too..

Joe Sulfaro

I was transfered here from monroe promedica because that hospital is a death camp, they have no clue what theyre doing, no communication between the staff. As soon as they got me here (toledo) stuff got underway. Staff is very friendly and the nurse jim guy i got goes out of his way to make sure my stay is as happy and comfortable as it can be. Like i told these men and women here, i dont care if i have 44 minutes to live, thats more than enough time to get down here to toledo so real doctors and nurses can treat me.

Brandi Kroetz

Tends to put a bandage on it rather than actually trying to help you. Great staff otherwise though

moneypit pulling team

I mean really the new lay out sucks!!!!!i mean takes you 20 minutes to get anywhere to park.they didnt care about anyone that has to come to this place.

Damn Dollaz

My experience, here is between "fair & okay" they could be more faster. Like I have to wait 2 hours for 1mg of pain medicine. I have sickle cell SS which causes me to be in a lot of PAIN! Don't make me wait 2 hours for 1mg!!!!

Deen Sari

great hospital!

Martell Tha Cool

I hate this hospital as they didn't do nothing to save my daddy. He long gone passed away in 2014. You promedica are failures and I hate you all for not doing nothing and you're the most sorriest health care system ever

linda askar

The absolute worst hospital in all of America, you might as well stay home if needing a hospital than coming here. All staff is awful, no one cares for your needs or safety, no one cares to answer the call light, give you your meds on time, bath you, or take you to the rest room in an appropriate matter. Nurses are extremely incompotenent and know nothing about anything. Doctors send their pas on rounds even after major surgeries who also can’t do anything for you. Stay as far away from here as possible, if it means to drive out a half hour more to find someone else your better off doing so because you die slowly in here. Run as far away as possible

Julia Kolakowski

I wish I could rate this hospital lower than it a one. I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy step foot here. I was admitted into the hospital via ambulance and in the ambulance I got an IV, when I got into the er the nurses looked at it said it was fine but wanted a different one, I had two IVS in one arm, don’t remember much of the rest of that night I was admitted to the icu, at first it seemed all well, I was here diagnosed with a condition they assumed I had without running proper test, I couldn’t hold anything down, I came in on dehydration and being a type one it’s easy to fall into DKA, I was told in the icu I wasn’t in DKA so I could be moved to a room, which I was they had me on a dextrose drip, taking me off my insulin and putting me back in, I had a picc line inserted and when I left the nurse who I’m not even sure she was allowed to take it out, roughly took it out. I was being fed a pain medicine I never asked for every 4 hours, I was alone my fiancé works 7-9 most days and my mom lives two hours away they took the advantage of me not having anyone to speak for me while I’m such a bad state kept me drugged up. On the tenth day I was in there making no progress, couldn’t eat and couldn’t drink water nothing would stay down, they kept a concoction of medication injected in me, when I refused Tylenol one time the nurse got mad at me, I didn’t think my pain was bad. They couldn’t diagnose me, and over 10 days. I was sicker than when I came in. They didn’t want to release me so I had to sign myself out something didn’t feel right, I went to stay with my mom for few days and I was rushed to an emergency room near her house in Michigan and let me tell you, I found out my Acid level in my blood which should only be 0.2 was 6.04, when we told the other hospital what happened they ran drug panels, toxin levels and loads of labs. I’m now on two medicines they started in the hospital, but took me off for no reason (before we discussed my leaving) the meds they took me off were to lower my blood pressure and heart rate. I have so many blown blood vessels from them that it’s still hard to get blood from me. I was also taken cold turkey off my anti depressant. They knew I took it, didn’t care, my mental health didn’t matter to them. None of my normal meds were ordered, they couldn’t chose what to do for an insulin regime and some nurses wouldn’t give me insulin even for a unit they thought it was stupid. I don’t know what kind of people are hired here, but I know I don’t trust them, I went in weighing in about 155 when I went to the er 11 days later I was at 125. Somethings don’t add up. If you want to live, and not get an addiction, or a different failed organ, go somewhere else. Let my experience guide you away. Also, super classy to talk to your patients about how some of your nurses almost killed someone before, or how they run things. I don’t recommend this scummy place to anyone.

Christian Nussbaum

Staff was nice and respected health, however after the tests etc were finished they didn't respect my time. Sat in room for 2 hours waiting for discharge.

Ice D Manic

New computer system, can't find my records, supposed to call me back on test results and not the right phone number. I went home exhausted from waiting. Still in pain, nice doctors and nurses, great hospital, but I am still suffering and told it was just a muscle ache. Told me they were doing certain tests, and did not do them. Kind of disappointed. I had to complain about being in a room, just wanted to put me in the hall. I am sorry, no one should be put in a hall. Hire more ppl if you have to. ER was a mess..to many Indians and not enough Chiefs.

Athena

Had both of my children here and the only hospital in town my dad likes. He hates hospitals

Alexis K

Horrible! Whenever I call pregnancy triage when I’m having a pregnancy emergency like no movements or thought my water broke they wouldn’t listen to what I had to ask would just transfer me to A operator. This is the third time this has happened. If you are expecting I highly suggest avoiding them.

cb ohio

Poor care for my mom who has been diagnosed with brain damage she was induced to a medical coma having a hard time getting nurse's to take care of her in ICU unit

Shane Jackson

Slow as hell and dont even give assistance when asked takes about 45 mins after you ask for them to actually come in when they aren't busy at all get some new staff

Chelsea Older

Don't go here if you're in pain. Go to St. Vincent's. At least at St. Vincent's they can differentiate between a drug seeker and someone in pain. This place won't help you.

Ayden Williams

Best hospital in the world beautiful people that care bout your overall health

Isabel Reyes

Went in with my friend and she is having labor pains. Everything is fine now but all because they "FORGOT" to send her Pee in for a test we are sitting here for not freaking reason.

Lisa Stump

The food is very

Samantha Mahoney

If you work an entry level position, you’re basically a peon. And the nurses laugh and talk shit about their patients in the med/supply rooms, not to mention have an attitude with their patients.

Sabrina Davis

I had a surgery done here and everyone was great doctors and nurses. I don't feel that way now. My brother was recently admitted to the cardiac icu and half the nurses just walk by you like they dont see you. Also i have been up there everyday and the room always has empty packages and papers on the floor and counters. The floor is always dirty i dont think it has been mopped since he has been there.

Pamela Bezeau

Was admitted for ruptured appendix last March, they had to do emergency surgery and wound up taking a portion of my colon because the bowel perforated. 10 days later I was home, the nurses were wonderful, loved my surgeon and his group. Not sure if I would be here today if it weren't for them. Best hospital in Toledo!!

Kristopher Gutie

Work here great place for your hospital needs come here please.

Dawn Sheppard

The worst labor and delivery ever. I dislike bay park but I will say it's better than here. Most unpleasant experience ever.

Cassie Eck

Horrible aides here my mom had back surgery and they were really rude to her when she needed them the nurses are really nice tho

Natalie Jones

fantastic nurses that always go above and beyond for their patients.

James Hill

Go to Toledo hospital if you want to wait for 5+ hours with vending machines charging 1.35 for a bag of skittles. Starve or go crazy; those are the options.

Justin Pollock

Best hospital experience I ever had! Caring, thorough, and complete

David Faris

Excellent care

Benjamin Zawodni

This hospital treats its employees like garbage. Hands down the worst company to work for. Probably why the care here is so substandard.

Adnan Alzabni

The worst hospital I have ever been

Michelle Skeels

this is the worst hospital hands down, you can’t even get a normal pop, or tea, everything is diet, which doesn’t make sense because there’s still candy in the vending machines? plus, it seems like the doctors and nurses need to go back to college.

Victoria TenEyck

If you want to die, go here.

Amanda Sancrant

Amazing Amazing Amazing!! They hit it out the park from the second we walked in! Absolutely the!best nurses in childrens ER! They were very attentive to my sick 1 year old babygirl and took such!good care of!her! I am super happy they're are!still good people around cuz my kids deserve the best care!! Will not go ANYWHERE ELSE EVER AGAIN!! Not to mention THIS HOSPITAL IS BEYOND BEAUTIFUL!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5

Brenda Roberts

This is the worst healthcare ever! I have worked there as a nurse. Would never, never recommend.

Anna Grider

I had surgery a month ago Dr. Phibbs was professional and respectful, knowledgeable, kind and caring. The nurses were the same, they explained what medications to keep taking & not to take before & after surgery, let me know what was going to happen during and after surgery. It was outpatient surgery so i didn't stay overnight. I have no complaints.

Robert Breisacher

Because its helping others

Penny Brough

Doctor needs to comicate more with each other nurses have been great one min it's bad next oh good each doctor says something different

Helen Marinelli

Both experiences I have had with loved ones giving birth here are absolutely TERRIBLE! The first one was just the non-attentiveness they showed to my friend and didn’t help her with absolutely anything when it came time for her to go home. But the second time me being there was for my little sister and after she gave birth they handed her a menu and said that’s where she ordered from. She didn’t eat from 7pm until 1pm the NEXT day because nobody was asking if she ate or checking on her. Now she is having complications because they didn’t tell her anything about taking care of her stitches or how to handle any of that when she went home. I’m appalled at this place and I will never ever recommend them to anybody ever.

Lee Nissan

My son and daughter just had a baby. Both families are very large. We were told only 2 in the room even after the birth. This is our 4th grandchild and every other hospital is fine with unlimited people in the room even Bay Park which is a Pro Medica affiliate. This is suppose to be a joyous time that all can celebrate together as a family. Your rules do not take that into account at all. Then we went to cafeteria since we could not get in to see our granddaughter. That was awful also Out of everything at 5pm a main serving time. Only one person on the grill. I know a few nurses that transferred from Toledo to Baypark. Now I see why

Brenda Harper

If you come to this hospital for a surgical procedure, make sure anyone with you reserves PLENTY of time, as in 24 hrs. Why? Because we came to be with a surgical patient who was scheduled for surgery at 11:00 am, and didn't go in until 1:00pm. We saw the Dr. at 4:00pm, and we're told we could see her within an hour. It is now7:15pm, and we are told they are STILL waiting for a room, and it could be another 2-3 hours!

Karly Fulton

My fiance came in to toledo after walking out of UTMC to the best care WE have both ever experienced.(July 19-20).Since the moment he was able to get a room in the ER (which was fairly fast) the nurse Heather was excellent made sure all his needs were met, and was just great with keeping me informed. They determined he needed to have his appendix removed. The first doctor had came in which is was excellent as well(can't remember her name) knew it was his appendix but they ran the CT scan TO CONFIRM it. She was extremely nice about it . along with the other male doctor. They had the surgery team come in they explained everything very well and answered all questions. Once he was able to get a private room those nurses were also excellent. So sweet and so nice to both of us since I was staying with him. He was comfortable and they made sure of it. If we would have stayed at UTMC I know it wouldn't have been as pleasant as TOLEDO . so I would love to thank you for your excellent service to your patients.

Cathy Stoll

Awful. I had my gallbladder removed at this hospital. Dr. and nurses were all great. My problem was after the surgery I was sent out the side door of a holding room and had to walk to my car. The nurse who released me was awful nasty. She told me sign here and there is the door. Never again. Sorry I was a burden to you all.

SoonLee

Promedica can afford to hire more employees. Soon they will own half of Toledo any way. Maybe they are lacking in good management. Healthcare after all is about rich getting richer.

Greg Haas

Took care of me

Ashley Ann

I have always had a decent experience here

Haley Phillips

Promedica I am so disappointed and hurt by your choice to sign the patient-transfer agreement with the abortion clinic, Capital Care. I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision. Until then, I will refuse to receive care from any of your affiliate locations and will encourage other to do the same.

Albert Hyman

The staff here was so attentive to my needs, very polite and respectful, did everything in a timely manner and was very detailed. I came in with a heart failure condition and left with a heart failure solution, I am truly grateful for the time I spent there.

Fashion Love Site Admin

My mother and I have been treated here and were treated well. I'd take promedica Toledo hospital over Saint Luke's any day, I almost died at St. Luke's and the nurses I had were so mean, I sat in my room sobbing after surgery until a patient care advocate came in to see why I was so upset and felt I was being mistreated & helped me by getting me a new nurse. I never had any issue like that at promedica so promedica is now my go-to Hospital after never being happy with my care at St. Luke's.

Courtney hanson

They fail the get to the phone fast enough and leave patients on hold for over 30 min.

Anita Rodriguez

Father has surgery and even though he ok them to give me info they will not unless i have some # .i don't live in Ohio. So frustrating!

SHETTA WITCHER

First bad experience seating here on the fourth floor right now and the only dr is a resident available that can't answer why I have been here 24hrs and my daughter haven't got the proper medical treatment far as a iv for dehydration and no food or drink. She has pneumonia and she is on a orthopaedic floor. They want to keep pumping her with medication with nothing to eat nor drink nor iv and all he( resident) can tell me nobody communicated with him to why and the on call floor doctor want call him back . What happen to caring doctors, they get students in the hospital that ask you why some medication react to other medication you expect them to already know this. This is how error happen and why people are scared to go to the hospital..... I'm so upset right now resident doctors running floors without assistant from a available doctor is getting out of hand I hope toledo don't get as bad a Utmc aka Mco..or Toledo is in trouble

Google User

Not happy with how my family member was treated in the ER. The nurses lack empathy, poor bedside manner skills, took four hours to finally get pain medication. Almost two hours for nausea medication, while continuously vomiting while waiting for it. So much more I could say. I know the nurses make good money there. On days they are short staffed, the hospital offers, on top of their regular pay, around $35 extra an hour to get staff to come in and work on their days off. Could at least fake that they care for what they get paid and could also do their job and actually advocate for their patient! Joke of a corporate establishment health care facility. Will never use their ER services again.

Jordan Coppock

Dr.King and the nurses were awesome, he didn’t send us home due to concerns and had us induced the next day. Could of lost our boy if we waited any longer. Thank you -Coppock, Marshall

Cierrah McNally

took my son in with a fever of 100.3 .. the nurses were as nice as can be but then the dr came in , only checked his ears and said he has an infection and that was that . he gave me a script for a antibiotic and sent us home . my son got worse over the day and was even more sick by the night .. i took him to his pcp and the dr walked in knew from the way he looked and his breathing that he has CROUP and there was NO sign of an ear infection ! the fact that they misdiagnosed my 1.5 year old that far off is ridiculous . if he would have been treated that day he wouldnt be as sick as he is now . thank you to the rude so called "doctor" for not helping what so ever and letting my child get worse .

James Lawson

Worse experience ever!!!! A nurse named Kelly didn't know how to do her job at all and there is only one doctor that is able to help or give orders help... I just recently moved to the area and I have never been neglected like this at any hospital I have ever been in. Welp I guess that's a hell of a welcome to Toledo

The staff are rude and dont like there job in the old side of hospital the new side the staff are good and don and happy about moving my mom at 1230 at night to a smaller room and to the old part of the hospital.

Alexandra Winebrenner

I was in a terrible accident and they took fantastic care of me. Great ortho doctors(Dr. Tank.) I was there for a week multiple surgeries I was happy with everything except the billing. I dont like how bills are separated. I have 200,000+ bills that are so disorganized due to the separation of everything.

Amanda Sepanski

I am absolutely appalled at the lack of communication and service in the trauma unit.

Mark & Marg Banner

A bill went to collections and it was paid. Hurt my credit score and they do not care. Mama not happy

This is my second stay at Toledo Hospital. Wasn’t impressed the first time and definitely not the second. I was scheduled a week prior to coming in. On my first day here, I didn’t even get my morning meds until 3:40 in the afternoon; and I’m here for seizures and Epilepsy. I asked my nurse for my meds repeatedly and couldn’t seem to get them. Plus I have another very important Med that I have to take, which in return is making me ill but it’s comes later and later EVERYDAY!! This medication should be taken around 5-6 PM and I’m not getting it till 11 PM. This has happened for 3 days in a row now. There is really no excuse for any of this to be happening. Other issues as well but all I can do is hope and pray the next two days get better, but I doubt it

ashley

I called a doctor on call, told them my left side is in excruciating pain, told me to come into labor and delivery. i come in, they hook me up to monitors to see if i was in labor, i told them im not, i have side pain and it’s painful to utinate. ended up sending me home without running absolutely ANY tests. turns out i have a severe bladder infection that i had to go home with until i seen my doctor. makes me wonder if i should deliver here now. made me think i was an idiot that just has pregnancy pains.

The most respectful place I've been to. They listen to you, they HEAR YOU! THEY CARE FOR YOU!!!! I didnt rate Toledo hospital a 5! Because I rated Toledo hospital a 100% in their concern about they're patients. If I was on the other side of the world and needed medical help, I would travel here to Toledo Hospital. That's how welcomed they made me feel

Susan

Absolutely the worst hospital of all times!! They just lie, lie, lie!!! Been in this awful place for 2 days and found that the nurses like to lie, so they don't have to break bad news. Overnight was good service, during the day NO ONE comes in to check your iv's or vitals. When you call for HELP they respond back after 22 minutes!!! Good thing I wasn't having a heart attack, just had to pee on myself. They just want to have fun visiting with each other. Please do not consider this hospital for any overnight care!! Blood clots in arteries and could lose a leg, but no one that should be checking on you, DOESN'T!

Toledo Hospital is the best! I had two incredible labor and delivery nurses from the time I arrived until I went to my postpartum room. This was my first child, so I was very nervous going into Toledo Hospital for my induction. Christa Pollauf greeted me at the door and took me to my room. She thoroughly explained everything in detail to help me understand what was going on. She insured I was informed about everything that would occur and met all of my needs. She developed a personal connection with me and was extremely knowledgeable. This gave me and my husband a sense of peace before they started the process. She performed everything in a timely manner and was pleasant. At shift change, she introduced my new nurse. I was devastated she wouldn’t be there to see my baby being born. Nicole Conger introduced herself and then took amazing care of me throughout the rest of my delivery. She has such a great personality that had me laughing even through some tough contractions. She made me feel at ease through delivery and before moving into my postpartum room. By having exceptional communication skills, she built a sense of trust with me. She took her time explaining everything to me, making me feel comfortable, and checking on me regularly. Even though I wasn’t her only patient being induced, I would never have noticed this if I didn’t ask. We had the chance to connect and discuss our personal lives which took the ease off of actually being in labor. Not only did she provide exceptional care, she showed expertise explaining everything that was going on in a way that made sense to me. She gave me realistic expectations. Nicole truly showed the qualities of being a great nurse. Her compassion to both me and my husband was evident throughout the entire process. When moving to my postpartum room, I was feeling a bit nauseous once I got into the wheelchair. I threw up a few times and Nicole was right there with me throughout the whole time. She quickly called a nurse for extra assistance when I was feeling dizzy. Multiple nurses showed up to help right before I passed out. Even through this, I still felt at ease with Nicole as my nurse. I am so thankful she had the opportunity to be there for my delivery! Both of these nursers were committed to excellence as they didn’t just do their job, they went above and beyond making Toledo Hospital look even more exceptional than I already knew them to be. One can easily tell both of these nurses strive to be better, to work with efficiency and time management, while still providing the very best care. They were extremely prompt at providing for my needs. One of my biggest concerns was the safety for me and my baby. Both nurses, as well as all staff, worked to keep us both safe throughout the whole experience. The extraordinary experience I received at Toledo Hospital, as a first time mom, is one I will never forget. This is due to the amazing nurses I had throughout the delivery process. Thank you to Toledo Hospital for providing me exceptional care and a great staff throughout my entire experience.

Jeanne Hook

Got to ER around 12:30am still in the ER at 3:55am. Had to use the call four times before we could see the nurse. If they have enough help here we sure didn't see them! Very disappointed

Gerald Mayes

I sat there for hours when I was in pain only to find out ( I wasn't supposed to be there)

Paris May

Never had a problem with Toledo hospital. But Tuesday I went to the hospital with stomach pains as I explain to the doctor what’s been going on with me he laughed! Then apologized for laughing not only that they had me in This room that look like I was a prisoner. They basically Diagnosed me with a acid reflects and gave me Gastritis discharge papers. And now my daughter having this same side effects I was having

Ascension Ready

Information specialist is unprofessional unfriendly and unkind. First impression is very important.

Greg Adams

I am in this hospital as I type this but am self checking out in the morning. I have an infection in my leg so they say, however they have no clue what it is. I have been on 4 different antibodies today alone. Most doctors have not a clue what they are doing and only know how to answer your questions with I Don't Know! !!! They are continuing running test after test and still have no clue what is wrong. This place is nothing more than a joke. Sad excuse for medical care.

Jeffrey Camp

Hospital was aware my daughter had full insurance. After getting her ultrasound down I heard nothing... until I check my credit report and was made aware of a outstanding bill. Called the hospital today to explain that I gave the information and insurance number when she got the procedure done and that I would need that billed appropriately as my daughter has had the same insurance her whole life. I also explained I would need a letter from promedica about the mistake and for this to be removed from my credit report. They refused and claimed they made no mistake and eluded to that it was my fault since I do not check my report every single month. Shame on you I will be going your competitors from now on.

Courtney Harple

Worst experience at a hospital ever. My gyno told me to go there and the Dr treated me like I was stupid. I was describing my symptoms to him and I said I had the spins. He replies "The spins? What are those?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I don't know if he just graduated medical school or was at the end of a long shift but it seemed like all he cared about was getting me out of there. I told him my ibuprofen, advil, midol, aleeve had not been helping my intense pain I was in and if there was anything they could do for the pain. He said "I'm sorry for your pain just keep taking those." I repeated myself saying they were not working he acted like I was a drug addict and kept apologizing for my pain. I believe his name was Dr. Digg? Diggs? Whoever he was he should be fired because he was absoultely awful. I left with none of my questions answered and more upset than when I got there. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Patrick Rediger

The only people I have ever met that do not like this hospital are people who have little respect or patients for medicine (the type that think a doctor is a moron because he can't fix a serious issue and have him out the door same day). The building is full of well trained and mostly friendly staff. I have noticed that the ER is a bit rushed in dealing with things without many questions asked. I wouldn't take a loved one anywhere in the area but here for almost any issue.

Ellen Burns

Mistook my brother for another patient for biopsy. Actually wheeled him in without checking chart I.d. Bracelet or asking name or birth date .Unacceptable

Clyde Stewart

I wish they were clear on what is and isn't covered by my insurance. Staff and doctors were polite

AJ Brown

Every time my family comes here, we have nothing but great experiences. Never had s staff member rude to us and RNs are very informative as well.

Micki Harris

I think this hospital is alright until my father was admitted about a week ago and I couldn't understand why they didn't have any pillows in the ER! is this the new trend? The security guards just sit on their tail feathers yapping like its a big party and not doing what they suppose to like, (move around) might I add that their food is nasty.

Michael M

Clean, nice staff... most likely will have to file bankruptcy due to my hospital bill. One of these days Americans might have affordable health care.

Melinda Mclennan

Will not be coming back. Was told they think I have viral bronchitis. To goto my doctors. I explained called doctors but they couldn't get me in till the 18th. I cant eat swallow or anything but left me in a room no tv no phone nothing in room but bed and 1 chair. Used phone flashlights to look into my mouth. Not profession at all. This place sickens me.

Sarah Rickard

I just got home from there, I live in adrian. I was told I was getting a gown, never got one. Dr had x-rays done, but never come back to talk back with me about them. Instead I received discharge papers without having a clue what was going on, I was basically pushed out of the er room. I couldn't walk, never asked if I needed a wheelchair. A nurse was nice enough to get me a chair. But I was left by the entrance by myself to wait to be picked up. It was dark, I'm in pain. This was the worst experience I have ever had at Toledo. Them and Bixby are TERRIBLE!!! I LEFT THE HOSPITAL THE SAME WAY I WALKED IN!!! NOTHING!!!

Kelsey L

My husband was transferred to your hospital from a smaller one. We were transferred because they believed it would be easier for him to get the treatment he needed and see the surgeons he needed to see. We knew we needed two things, to get a CT scan, and to see the surgeon. Originally we got there thinking we would meet your thoracic surgeons, but they believed a general surgeon would be better for him. We weren't sure why at first. We learned it was because they only like to work on hearts and lungs and ignore the rest of the chest area. So very useful (sarcasm). It took TWO DAYS of us sitting in the hospital getting pumped with harsh antibiotics (which eventually damaged his kidney functions) for Dr. Tsung to show up initially. His team was useless as well. They didn't do a thing to help him. They said a lot of things like "lets test the liquid to see if it's infectious." Nobody made a move to do anything he suggested. The RN with him even wrote that she was "unable to get a sample" when in reality she said she just decided not to because she was unsure on what he wanted. That's very different than not being able to. Don't lie on the chart. In the end we stayed another TWO DAYS before that surgeon came to us and basically said he wasn't going to do anything. THAT IS RIDICULOUS! It took this guy FOUR days to say, nah can't do anything. Our Oncologist got the impression from both surgical teams that it wasn't that they wouldn't do anything, it's that they felt they weren't competent enough to do it. Sounds like we dodged a bullet then. In the end the general surgeon wanted to send him to Cleveland Clinic instead (which we've already consulted with) We had him instead send them the CT scan (that took 3 days to get) to CC and get discharged. Glad to know that your surgery department is completely incompetent! Also very encouraging to have multiple communication errors that made the whole process a stress filled nightmare. Do your doctors talk to each other at all? Or read the charts ever? I'm wondering if they even know how. It was great being in your hospital getting kidney damage for no reason at all. Thanks. And if you can't tell I'm being extremely sarcastic. Never coming back ever again, and I hope no one I care about has to go to your hospital either. It was a despicable example of American health care.

Jihad Nemer

Simply that hospital saved my life Big thank you from the bottom of my heart

Janell Hill

Hospital inside is nice. I haven't had problems with the doctors. However, the staff never send over testing results to my physician or my kid's physicians. My doctor and their doctors have to bug radiology for test results. That is ridiculous. The construction is a headache. Finally, the parking! Omg! That is ridiculous! Not enough parking and the parking spaces are too small. It's like they made them for the tiny cars. Not trucks, vans, or SUVs. Of course you have the dumb people who don't know how to park either.

Greg Heidlebaugh

Everything was great except for one huge thing. My wife recently delivered twin boys. She was a surrogate for parents from Norway. They had on the charts not to Circumcise as it is considered a barbaric form of Genital Mutilation for boys and girls in almost all countries except the US!! I was so upset for them because it was almost every nurse asking... almost trying to sell this to them!! Even some of the Drs. We're asking!! I would have thought Toledo Hospital had better standards and ethics than to still even offer this kind of unnecessary cosmetic surgery for baby boys!!

Andrew Burk

Money is the only language they speak.

Dustin Kilpatrick

May not be the fastest hospital at times but they get the job done right

Frank Assifuah

Amazing place for healthcare service especially for delivery. Competent and compassionate nurses. I just can’t stop loving them!

Amy Corlett

Horrible. Tricked me into saying i wanted to hurt myself. Put me on suicide watch for 30 hours in er with security at my door of glass saying NO BED AVAILABLE UPSTAIRS... Like a ZOO EXHIBIT. Never been treated so much like an animal in my life. After they wouldn't get me a bed at different hosp. I said CALL THE FN LAWYER.. And of course a bed magically appeared open. Where i spent 6 more days.. In psych. IN A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL. I said i wanted to hurt other people. Never ever myself. . feel like they just milked my insurance .. Truth

Amber Mia

The staff is Amazing! The Nurses, the Nursing Assistants, The Doctor’s and even the students all care and are alll very friendly. I’m always very skeptical of hospitals, but they made me feel as if I were apart of their family during the entire duration of my stay! I’m beyond grateful for my experience here and would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Bunny Winslow

I know it sounds cliche at this point but I would give Promedica as a whole no stars if I could. Each time I’ve encountered Promedica in any way, I’ve left with regret whether it be an ER visit, clinical experience in nursing school, a job, or now the care of my beloved husband. Recently, my husband decided to get a vasectomy and because of his insurance, he was stuck with going through Promedica. We sighed in annoyance at the idea and went to the consultation and scheduled him for his procedure. During this time, we called our insurance company to determine out of pocket costs and were told to expect to pay around $1400. This seemed expensive but still understandable until we went to the appointment for his procedure and were given a bill stating it would be $5070. They then told us we would have to have that amount paid within the year and that there was nothing they could do. I knew something was wrong since this procedure only used local anaesthetic and is minimally invasive. I’ve done my research and we are now going through a far more reputable healthcare system at a far lower cost. I’m sorry this is so long but trust me when I say that Promedica is a joke. I’ve seen how they treat their staff, seen how they financially gouge their patients, and seen how they do not put the health of the community first. They are pathetic and disgusting and I hope to one day see them driven out and replaced with the type of healthcare system this area deserves.

H. Will

Fantastic Hospital and ALL staff for your parents and loved one I gave it AAA

Ian Baker

My doctor was completely inattentive. Let me lay in bed for 3 hours before giving me a pepcid and to go home and see my primary doctor which I dont have. Woke up with the same pain today but too scared to go back

Page Allen

Gave birth via emergency c section after a “student doctor “ told me breaking my water will be safe and after breaking it having 17 people students nurses all kinds of titles are swarming me saying something went wrong I was very irritated but the doctor that performed my c section and the anesthesiologist That numbed me we’re awesome and kept me calm throughout the process. The night Time nurses were amazing sweet hearts. There were two that were rude. I hear a lot of bad about Toledo hospital and baby births and injuries , not sure I wanna go brought them again tho.

Shelby Mooney

I'm seriously appalled with the way my two year old was treated at this hospital. My little one had been brought in by ambulance, she had a 105 fever, extremely labored breathing, and elevated blood pressure. The only thing they did for my child was cath her for a urine sample and check her ears and throat. No blood tests, no oral swab. Gave her Tylenol and sent us home. Come to find out she has double bacterial pneumonia. I'm sorry but how the hell do you miss this!? How could you not do a simple finger prick or oral swab to check for infection?! If it weren't for her Ped Dr. Chaudhury in Monroe, my baby would be in a much worse condition than she is now. He's saved my baby's life. I'm now extremely partial to the Promedica in Monroe, I had my baby here and I know I'm not going to lose her here. I trust these nurses 100% for the positive prognosis of my little girl.
