I see a lot of unhappy reviews on here. I know Grady has the reputation of being the roach motel...patients check in , but don't leave. My wife has been here twice in the last year for hip surgeries and the nurses are the nicest I've experienced. She has been in other hospitals where they treat you like a piece of meat. Never smile, never caring, totally removed from being compassionate. Just zombies looking for the day to end.The woman at the surgery waiting room desk is so wonderful. The only place that compares is Dublin Methodist.

Had my first appointment with Dr. Amirneni as a primary care physician. From the moment I walked in, the staff was very kind and welcoming. They were very sociable and efficient in their work. Dr. Amirneni was very kind, patient, and timely. I didn't wait longer than 3 minutes before the nurse brought me to the exam room for vitals. Dr. Amirneni was in shortly after the nurse with little to no wait time! I wasn't even able to finish all my paperwork. I'm very impressed with the technicians who checked me in and put in referrals. They were very comfortable in their work. It wasn't even an hour after getting home that I got a call from the referral clinic to schedule. So happy to have found such a great primary care.

We called ahead before arriving to the ER, I was put into a room immediately. However once there the nurse was slow and the doctor was completely disconnected. The nurse was a calm person and attended to me when in the room. But I'm sorry to say they lacked communication, often left us unattended for long periods of time, and even had a MAJOR oversight regarding a reaction to drugs. They also told me directly they were going to do certain things that they didn't do, such as cleaning my wound. During the visit the typical questions were asked mid-way through our stay. Address, name, birthdate etc. I still hadn't been proper treated, my pain was unbearable and I had to ask the women to please find our doctor, who was on break.. after telling us they'd be back in 5 minutes. Additional to that the women asked the time of the accident, then openly said she was going to change it because she thought we had arrived later. This was very bizarre to both myself and my family, she had asked for the time of accident not time of arrival, then changed it by more than an hour. She also asked if I wanted to claim a church, not being from the area and also being in a great deal of pain to the point of tears, I told her I didn't want to claim a church. I said "I'm sorry but I really don't care about that question right now" she went on asking if I was sure etc etc. I fully understand the procedure and even told her that, but the timing was less than logical. A separate time I had to leave the room to ask if they could come in because the pain was so high for so long. About 5-8 nurses were standing around talking, one even directly asked if I was the (listed my condition) patient. I wasn't informed why I was left unattended for so long, it surely couldn't have been because they were busy. I've waited a few weeks to write this to ensure my opinions on the experience weren't emotion based, but rather facts of our visit. At the very end, what I can only guess would be the discharge nurse came in. She was detailed, quick, direct, had excellent communication skills, she seem to care and was incredible informative to both myself and my family. She alone would earn the hospital a 5 star rating. They did treat me, I was out of pain by the end, but in short they had a total breakdown of communication to us and between one another.

I only gave Grady 3 stars because I haven't been seen since my son's birth. I'm sure things have changed since then. When you throw a temper tantrum you will go to the mental ward. ( This also happens in other hospitals.) When you scream and throw a fit for pain meds don't expect them to look at you like you're not a pill popper. I'm willing to bet no one throws a fit over Tylenol or other OTC drugs. Unless you are a doctor or surgeon how do you know what procedure is needed or not? Last but not least unless you walk around following the doctor all day how do you know if he/she read your chart or not? Just my 2 cents

Never had a good visit whether it be me or a family member..Grady has killed two of my loved ones just by neglecting them and not taking them seriously...they are VERY unprofessional. The only thing this hospital is good for is the maternity wing.

I had good respect for this hospital with the fact they saved my daughter. They have lost it after a few visits. This last visit has made me join the crowd of shady Grady . Needed antibiotics, told them I have been on cough meds for 2 weeks. Answer give me cough meds!? I now have coughing spasms, no voice and spitting out blood. Add a bill for the B.S. ER. All they kept saying is come back for a reevaluation. What a scam.

I would give this hospital a big fat zero if I could. I went to this hopspital for a skin infection from a cut on my thumb that was spreading up my arm. The first time I went they sent me home with 2 antibiotics and that was it. Didn't do blood work, X-rays, nothing. I went back the next day with red streaks halfway up my arm and in extreme pain, and the "doctor" comes in and says, "you have 2 choices. You can be admitted or give the antibiotics more time to work." At the time I thought the antibiotics would eventually start to work so I went home. They gave me iv antibiotics as well as pain meds. That was at 8:00 on a Wednesday. By 3:00 that same day the red streaks were almost to my shoulder. I decided to go to Riverside's zemergency room and I was admitted immediately. They had to open up my thumb to get the infection out. They found that there was tissue blocking the infection so the antibiotics would have never touched it. I will NEVER GO TO THIS "HOSPITAL" AGAIN, and the doctor that sent me home should be sued. Do not go here.

Two days ago I went in for extreme abdominal pain, they refused to give me ANY pain medication while I was sobbing in the hospital bed after laying there for four hours in this agonizing pain till they took a pregnancy test despite me stating I've never even had sex. They only ever came in when my mother (who had driven me to the hospital should it be any sort of medical operation ) pressed the nurse button on the TV remote. They injected me with 5 different kinds of fluids leading up to them medicating me. Two out of the three nurses I had were uncompassionate and my doctor acted like she didn't really care about what was happening. After about 6 hours of laying in the hospital, being pumped with fluids and about 4 hours in. The long story short, if you can avoid it, don't go to Grady, go to a minute clinic or some hospital much better, such as saint Anne's or children's hospital, they're more efficient in their jobs.

Terry D. Olejko D.D.S., M.S. Would not recommend going to this oral surgeon. Appointment was at 9:15 am I arrived on time and after finishing paperwork, I was taken to a room to wait on the Dr. for over a hour. Being that I have a appointment at a oral surgeon obviously my tooth is not in good health, the D.R. pushed on my gums of the bad tooth, with hurt a lot, which I didn't feel like their was any need for. Once we finally started with the extraction he had far to many problems trying to remove the tooth, and keep hitting my other teeth with his tool multiple times. Just a overall bad experience. If could give half star I would.

Wouldn't trust this place to clip my dogs toe nails without seriously injuring him to tell everyone the truth, so many innocent people including myself multiple times neglected or given improper care here

roger schulz

just had my knee scoped on july 8 as out-patient surgery and can't say enough good things about my experience and the caring folks at Grady. They kept me informed and were extremely attentive of how I was feeling. If you have a choice of where to have your medical work done don't be afraid to go to Grady. You'll be well taken care of.

Great Hospital very Friendly staff. Will visit this facility in the future.

Our family member was recently admitted to this hospital. When I read the poor reviews above, my sister & I decided to drive all the way from northern NJ with much concern. We were pleasantly surprised about the excellent care he received there. The nursing staff, Dr. Green & Dr. Kaka all provided excellent care involving the patient and family members. We returned back to NJ knowing he’ll continue to get great care from his family, Dr Kaka and Grady Memorial Hospital. With gratitude from an RN & APN from ‘Jersey

Great Radiology Dept...professional, thorough, compassionate and kind. Laboratory personnel are professional and kind. Emergency Room care was always great. Grady is a great hospital.

Staff is completely rude. I would not bring my pet here if I had the choice. Went there 2 days ago all they said was you have a virus nothing we can do tell me why the next morning I wake up with big white bumps all over my throat. And In excruciating pain I go back a second time treated very poorly sat in the waiting room for 3 hours and I was to the point I could not take it anymore I could feel my throat closing and getting harder to breathe. When I told the lady she said sorry you have to wait like everyone else. Needless to say I drove myself to Marysville hospital when I got there my throat was halfway closed. Pretty sad I live across the street from this hospital and from now on I chose to drive 30 mins away so I know for a fact I’ll get accurate treatment and the care I deserve! Thank you for nothing!

Went to the ER due to severe wrist pain after an accident. After a half dozen X-rays they couldn’t find anything wrong even though my wrist was very swollen sent me home with my tyenol. After two days of no sleep I drove myself to riverside, they quickly determined I had a dislocated wrist and was in surgery four hours later. I disputed the bill due to their misdiagnosis and they refuted it and said they provided adequate service. I’m thankful my surgery wasn’t performed there. It would’ve been botched.

I went to the Grady Emergency Room last week asking for help. I am a single mother of a 19 year bipolar daughter. The mental health professionals in Franklin and Delaware Counties have not been accepting new patients since we moved her last August - so my daughter hasn't seen a Dr. or Therapist for 7 months and her behavior has become intolerable. She curses at me, throws things at me, make fun of me, hits me, on and on until I finally left and went to the Emergency Room in tears. I was hoping for an iv, a kind word, and prescription to help me gain my composure and some strength. Instead, I was informed that I should quit rewarding that behavior and she will quit doing it. "NO, she needs more medication - and then she will stop acting that was." It is not my fault she acting that was - reward, no reward - she will continue to act perverse until her medication is modified." So then they changed my diagnosis from acute anxiety to "UTI" - they gave me a prescription for Bacterim and sent me on my went. They didn't document the anxiety I came to the ER with...I didn't make it up. And the mental health resources around are booked so that it is possible that I have been living with a manic person for 7 months. I do need help. I can't tell you the feeling it has left me with - I went to the ER asking for help and they essentially didn't believe me I guess. My life is really hard and I don't ask for help very often if ever - you can check the charts. My confidence in Ohio Health is really shaken. I wish there were so logical explanation.

Went there with a foot injury. Although service was fairly quick, all they did was take a couple x-rays and sent me home saying I'd be fine in 3 days. That was over 6 months ago. I'm still getting pain from it. We took my sister there recently and they took two hours to get us in and out just to say we shouldn't worry about her fever not going down and just keep her home from school.

Mike Stollenwerk

I was in the hospital last night and I was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection hacking cough and my lungs up puking and all they did was a breathing treatment and sent me home with prescriptions and only give me one day off work and they had me going back to work today but yet I work in the food industry and when you are coughing and hacking and puking everybody knows you cannot work and food industry haven't. So I asked him to give me another day and they told me you have to come back in and be seen again this hospital is a joke and a bunch of cracks in the rudest way

Grady Memorial Hospital is the worst hospital I have ever experienced in my life!! Worse than Marion General which is saying A LOT!! I was in a car accident in January. First of all, I have a list of medications which I carry with me at all times in case of an emergency. I also verbally gave my list of medications to all the emergency personnel and the nurses and doctors. The doctor then verbally instructed me and prescribed me a medication I would have a severe interaction if I were to take it. I knew this quite well and told the doctor and he assured me that it was fine when I knew it was not. *EDIT* Also they mailed a survey to my home in which I submitted the above problem with my phone number included and they never called at all. So May comes around and my husband is asking me where all our Health Reimbursement Account money has gone. After some digging we discovered this hospital billed BOTH my auto insurance AND my health insurance. And both paid. So this hospital got paid double and they never said anything about it. So here I am two months, nearly three months later, fighting with them WEEKLY to refund the money to my HRA. They refunded the incorrect amount shorting our account $100. And the refunding it incorrectly by not submitting a corrected claim. I am so over this whole thing. The car accident my toddler daughter and I were in was horrible. But I would have to say dealing with this corrupt thieving hospital is WORSE!!!

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Injured on the job, went to Erase here and was back at work in 2 hours. With travel time. Seriously misdiagnosed!

Went there tonight. Sever facial and neck pain. On a scale of 1-10 pain was a solid 10. They took over an hour to come In the room. Did absolutely nothing about the pain. I am never going to return to this place. I got discharged before the registration started. Waste of time and waste of money. Dr john Stevens doesn’t write anything for pain because “I just don’t”. My kids have a dr here. Looks like we’re going to find them a new one as well. I am now sitting at home in excruciating pain because of this “hospital”. I’m not one to ask for anything but I did go and ask for something to relieve pain. I can’t even sleep. Work 60+ hrs a week. I do not appreciate the lack of care this institution has shown.

This Hospital is disgusting. Our grandmother is in hospice. We had there so called "Hospice expert". This is what she told us. Not sure what type of expert she is. She tell us about 17 time in a nasty rude tone that our grandmother dying. This so call expert turns down my grandmother oxygen because her lips are turn blue. This caused her to start gasping for air. Let's jump today. We were told by one of the nurses that another nurse was saying "We should just turn off her oxygen and let her die". I'm no law expert but that sound like premeditated murder. Let's also talk about being "She hasn't died yet" (Yes, that was said too) they want to discharge her. The don't care where she go's. Just the fact she is there and they don't want her anymore. They don't even check up on her. I hope these people end up needing care and get people too give them the same treatment they are giving my grandmother. I don't even want to think about how many people they have murdered (Yes that is what it is) over the years. Do not bring you loved ones here. Some people working there do care. Most, well I really hope you get what you are doing to other.

I had Mono.. They lost the blood they were going to test TWICE and therefore took an additional 2-3 days to diagnose me. I finally went to my primary care doctor and had him hand deliver the blood to another hospital to get diagnosed and therefore treated. If you've ever had mono you can feel my pain. I lost 21 pounds in 3 days.

I went to the receptionist desk to ask where what doctor I should see about chronic shoulder pain. I was repeatedly told that I'd find my answers in the ER and sent there. Before I could fully get my request out I was railroaded through the process before being told to go down the street and given a prescription for extra strength Aleeve. 2 weeks later I received 2 bills amounting to $1,100. Over a grand to be told to go down the street and I don't have insurance. They taught me a lesson: Medical professionals are all thieves and con artists who just want your money. I am currently in a rush to get financial assistance to help pay for this extortionist bill.

My father was admitted late Thursday night against the wishes of the emergency staff and only after my Aunt threatened a lawsuit if they didn't keep him. He had back surgery a week before and fell at his home and couldn't walk. My dad's first experience with the doctor on call was not good. We only saw nurse Becky twice on Saturday it appeared she wanted to hang out in the bullpen. Dr. Thomas was a God send! Stepped in on Sunday when he found out nobody was getting my dad up! Fast forward to Monday again another bad experience with the same doctor. If that doctor and his terrible bedside manner would have been on call over the weekend we would have removed him ourselves! Keep Dr. Thomas!!!

To clarify, the staff of every wing except for the ER. They were very kind and respectful to everyone. The ER. I have been in the ER on multiple occasions, very rarely the patient. I have noticed that a majority of the staff were disrespectful. The janitors and the staff from patient records are nice. I haven't been there in a while, so I am also counting that there may have been staff changes since the last time I was in there.

Held child against will on the basis of a quack psychologist who spoke to her for less than an hour...and then threatened us if we didnt consent to commiting the child. Insanity. She is a 17 year old girl who flipped out because of losing her cell phone for behavior...That quack must have bought his degree bc she is clearly a TEENAGER....

I would rate it 0 stars if I could! The one older nurse was incredibly rude when I went there for help, not to be treated like a pos. And to top it off, I caught walking pneumonia from there!! Horrible place, go the extra miles and go somewhere else.

Mandy Seymour

The ER nurses are very rude. They need to learn how to treat people with respect I've had to put a few of them in their place.

Grady Memorial ER, is much different than the hospital. I will be doing what I can to file a complaint against the ER Doctor. My brother was diagnosed with pinched nerves about two months ago. Nobody gave him anything for the pain. Went to the E.R. was treated like criminals. She told us he had been there a few times, then changed the situation and started naming off dates that he had came. June 17th and then the 25th, said he had been to Westerville ER, for a stubbed toe. Which is not true, it was for something else. I am sick of ER doctor's treating patients like criminals. The pain was so bad it's causing severe swelling. This doctor clearly had an attitude problem, that will be adjusted. We even brought a copy of his MRI, to prove that he had pinched nerves. He has herrington rods in his back and nobody wants to help right away. So we're stuck waiting till the 17th for pain management and the 27th for a damn neurologist to help out. Don't appreciate getting yelled at and treated like crap for going in for something legit. She even accused us of seeking out narcotics, which we never even asked for. He just wanted to see what was causing the pain. Waiting for the pain management to see what they say, then will decide from there what to do. I am tired of doctors not knowing what the hell they are doing when they are diagnosising and not giving any relief while we're waiting for a damn specialist appointment.

When you report at desk for Coumadin Clinic, volunteers are sitting to the right and people are behind you waiting. I give my name and Birth Date, but NOT year of birth. The receptionist today was rude and sarcastiic. Cindy, (Boss) should tell volunteers or employees to ask in a soft voice for ID. I do not want to broadcast my age to everyone. Hipa Laws or not, my personal information is not for the desk to broadcast.

Yvonne Rayburn

My Mom was taken by squad to the ER with a severe cut on the back of her leg that ran the length of her calf. The entire staff, from the front desk, to the registration assistant, to the nurses were kind, caring and patient with my Mom and our entire family. The PA who came in and looked at her wound and eventually did the sutures was absolutely fantastic. Janel Scarborough, we can't thank you enough for taking such good care of my Mom, for being so kind during the process and for putting her back together. To you, I know it was another "case" for your day but to us, she is our only Mom. Thank you for making us know that she really mattered to you as a person, not just another ER case.

Jaime Reasoner

The worst experience I've ever had at a hospital. Thank god I wasn't dying!!

This place is horrible with attention to patients, I've been here a few times this year with my mom and not 1 visit wad under 4 hours. Last visit TODAY we've been here 2 hours with nothing other than a pee sample, this place need new management or better staffing process. Shouldn't have to pay to sit / lay around and wait, should only be charged for service time cared for. Disgusting truth about this place. ...

D Stad

My 2.5yo son had a nasty fall causing a head laceration. The staff was amazing with my son; from testing, to keeping him calm, and finally placing his sutures. Techs all the way up to the doctors that cared for him were amazing and very passionate about their jobs.

Went to the ER here thinking it was just appendicitis but it turned out to be so much more. If we'd known ahead of time how serious my husband's condition was or how many hidden problems he had, we probably would have gone to Columbus, but once here the situation was too urgent to move him. I am happy to say that our experience at Grady has been EXCELLENT! I can't say enough about the level of medical care that he has gotten here. He has been here just over a month, so we've gotten to know the staff pretty well, from the surgeon to the cleaning crew. Everyone has been helpful, concerned, professional, and friendly. We can't say enough good things about Grady. Would we recommend it? You bet we would! ICU and 3-East: you rock!

Shane Helber

I do not recommend this hospital. One: They are short staffed. Two: They are often times rude.. You may find someone nice if you're lucky. 3: They completely said my injury (Which I considered an Emergency because I was bleeding badly and needed this thing on my finger removed) was not important. 4: After waiting 2 hours in the waiting room I was told my injury was non important and to wait 3 more hours to even be considered helped. 5: The doctor himself was rude (Dr. Thai).

M Miller

I've unfortunately needed emergency medical care as well as many members of my family in the past 10-15 years and I cannot think of one time I ever waited in the lobby. All of our situations were immediately attended to and we always saw the ER physician within 20-30 minutes of our arrival. I live in a neighboring county to Delware and would never go any place else than Grady! Excellent service and staff!

Just go to Riverside

J Frog

Got on the elevator this morning and there was this older guy with a monitor and scrubs on. I greeted him with a pleasant good morning and his reply was " Yeah....something like that" as if to be looking down at me. I would give this place a ZERO if I could. Go to Riverside for good PROFESSIONAL people that are great at their jobs!

Joyce White

Highly Recommended Hospital!! My family and I have been patients of Grady for 17+ yrs from broken bones, ankle surgery, to child birth "c-sections" and have always received excellent care! ❤️

J M

I would give the hospital a 0 if I could. There was only 1 nurse that was helpful. My wife was in the ICU but conscious... All nurses except for 1 refused to do anything including helping her with her bedpan. So I had to step up and wipe her bum for her... isn't that the nurses job? They were rude to her and above all else, their lack of understanding of basic medicine put her in the ICU in the first place. Their lack of ability almost killed my wife. We will never go back there!

UAS vehicles

Where is the Zero star ? This place is the worst. They treat you like your here for narcotics. They act like your not that sick. If I consider myself to need to go to the hospital then you need to get your act together and treat me. I had a fever along with other complications and it took them several hours to get me meds.

Jessica Lawrence

THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER IN MY LIFE HAVE BEEN TO!!! I WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE GOING BACK!! I waited almost 5 hours!!!! to get surgery; to get my IUD Removed & Doctor: Thomas James Zuesi; IS A LIER FOR A DOCTOR & COULDNT EVER PROVE HIS STATEMENTS TO WHY I COULD NOT HAVE MY IUD REMOVED..HE WOULD GET WRAPPED UP IN HIS LIES WHEN I WOULD ASK HIM QUESTIONS. HIS ANSWERS DID NOT MAKE SINCE ONE BIT!!!! I HAD TO BEG FOR PAIN MEDS & THE NURSE NAMED "DEB" WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO KEEP MY OWN EMERGNCY ROOM DOOR OPEN!!!!! KEPT SAYING I NEEDED TO KEEP IT SHUT DUE TO A CERTAIN POLICY LOL...THIS HOSPITAL IS A JOKE & I AM VERY PISSED ABOUT HOW I WAS TREATED AS A PATENT

Kris Kincaid

my husband was taken here in squad and I was very impressed with both ER and the ICU areas of this hospital. I have heard that it was not a good hosp. but this 1st time we were there I was 100% impressed with all around. we did not stay too long as they did not have the equiptment that was needed for internal bleeding but we were there a good 10 to 12 hrs and very happy with our services.

Christie Rawls

Was recommended by my doctor to go to the ER. I was at work in Delaware. Dr. Thai didn't bother to read my chart and then decided the only tests that should be ran was for a uti. My blood pressure was high. I was dizzy and had a headache. Complete waste of time. They didn't consult my doctor and released me.
