We normally patronize the competition but after hearing horror stories of people waiting for 5 hrs to be seen and others waiting in ER for 2 days to get a bed we decided to go else where. We had two visits within a few days and both times we were seen after a short wait. The staff was friendly and the Doctors were very thorough and helpful. We were well taken care of and will be using them for any future emergency needs without a doubt.

Polite nurses and staff, However the doctors do not listen to anything, as far as being helpful it was A complete waste of time. I was in and out in roughly an hour, but the reason being is because they didnt check any of the symptoms i went to be evaluated for. Did no blood work for an Infection ive had since june ( 5 months) no test at all and wrote me A prescription for the same anti-biotic i had just finished a few weeks ago. Which i had stated during the visit. Also the anti-biotic was only to treat one symptom cause by the infection and nothing else was further looked into at all. I mentioned being concerned of sepsis considering ive been taking several different anti biotics in the last few months as prescribed and nothing has helped , and the doctor stated "I don't look sepsis" while im completely covered in a hooded jacket with the hood up and not A single thing was looked at including the area of infection... when A lawsuit occurs, it will be well deserved. Not everyone in wheeling is A drug addict and Most people know their own bodies and have looked into their illness prior to the visit, especially when its been going on for A long period of time. With that being said listening to patients instead of assuming by one obvious factor would be A great start for improvement. I recommend that No one waste their time going here. An online symptom checker could give you A more Accurate diagnoses with out belittling you and assuming you oblivious to your condition. In my case things I had mentioned have previously been confirmed by other physicians and again were completely ignored because A doctor wanted to be judgemental and Lazy instead of doing his Job.

The care I receive is wonderful. It is the new company philosophy, if such exists, that is troubling. Alecto is out of touch with the local community environment, beginning with the simplest thing...no decent listing in the phone book! All I could find was one tiny listing, of which I wasn't even sure was the hospital. All the other hospitals in the area are easy to find in bold letters and departments are clearly listed in most cases, in both the white pages and yellow pages. Some folks are under the impression that certain depts have even been dissolved, moving on to other doctors and hospitals. NOT EVERYONE LOOKS UP INFORMATION ON THEIR CELL PHONE, especially in regards to a local hospital. Get with the program, Alecto. Develop a more user friendly, local patient oriented policy or lose your patients' loyalty. There are problems enough with understaffing and long waits because of your reshuffling. A bit more boots on the ground work, please.

I wouldn't take my turtle to this hospital. Filthy hospital, DR'S have NO compassion, horrible bed side manner, people laying in hallways, roaches on the floor, and they are scared to admit their patients because they are afraid the patient will get germs!!!

When did all of these local hospitals forget that we are the client/patient? When did they forget that even though it’s a medical service it’s still a service being offered and customer service is STILL IMPORTANT. When did it become acceptable to talk down to a patient or be patronizing? Honestly OVMC you get what you give. If you want your patients to be kind and considerate to your employees, then I suggest you train them to do the same. I will say the doctor did a good job listening to me. But the discharge instructions were confusing and useless. When I called to get clarification I was connected to the most rude condescending person on the planet. I was/am sick and not in the mood. I spoke my peace accordingly. Called the administrators office, the secretary said someone would call me back and answer the initial questions I had about dosage (FOR NON NARCOTICS).....as suspected, that call never came. Honestly there really isn’t any good options in this valley for emergency medical care. That is our reality.

Go here you might as well sign your death certificate the worst hospital I have ever see and gone to in my life. They keep up at this rate they will one of these days end up with a lawsuit from a patient because of malpractice. what kind of Hospital tells a patient to let them know when they need a pain medication that doesn't have to be every 4 hours that's how people get hooked on painkillers you don't give somebody pain killers every hour it's every 4 hours what kind of practice are you people running.

Seems like they are prolonging my the stay of my fiancés. We havent seen a doctor hardly at all. The nurses and doctors are very friendly, although they do not show much attention to my fiancé. His IV was beeping for 30 minutes really loudly before somepne even botheted to check, now he has a huge bump under the skin where the IV was. Totally ridiculous. Nobody has told us anything about why they are still keeping him or about what is going on with him. The hospital staff is pretty much keaving us in the dark about everything especially the doctors. They told us what was wrong and thats all weve been told. They arent telling us why hes in here still, how they will treat him, what his problem is, or anything. They told us he has ulcers and inflammation. They have kept him here for a week now just to wait on the test results from his biopsy. I do not understand why that takes a week. UPMC in pittsburgg did a biopsy on my grandfather and within 2 hours he had his results. The nurses and doctors only come into the room once in a while. Sometimes a few days without even seeing a doctor. Makes no sense at all. Hes complaining that he feels fine and all he wants to do is go home. But if he goes home on his own and checks out, he will be in debt because his insurance will not pay the hospital bill. OVMC is not very good with patient/family communication.

This time I rate the ER at 4. It seems the Department is improving, such as they ask patients if they're on street drugs and then they say "we have to ask everyone" in a friendly voice before they treated everyone like druggies and had been so rude! The doctor was friendly and very helpful in his diagnosis. All staff was friendly. The nurses are always great towards my patients' needs.

I live closer to wheeling hospital and will now make the drive to ovmc everytime. My 2 1/2 year old son fell, and his bottom teeth went through his lip. We got there and they took us straight back, and then after triaging him, took us straight back to a room. Then an actual doctor came and looked at him before the registration nurse came in to get our insurance information. They were very kind and friendly, and made sure I understood everything, and what they were going to do. He ended up only needing 1 stitch (thank god) but they were very nice and understanding (because my son is very shy). If i had gone to wheeling medical park, i would STILL be sitting there waiting in the waiting room(It's 11:00 pm). Like I said, if I have any options, well be going the extra 4 minutes to OVMC.

There er is terrible all most any dr or nurse ive had in the er were very rude and ignorant towards me and my family especially when we waited for over 2 hrs for lab work and we asked if they received it yet and dr got very smart with me .Also had to be seen the hallway when i arrived because they didnt have a room and everyone could hear my problem i had and thats suppost to be private and it took them almost a hr and a half to get me in a room
