I took my 16 year old daughter to have an MRI with contrast done today. I arrived at 12:30 as indicated. The scheduler repeated various times that I needed to be there a half hour before the appointment time. So at 12:30 I called to let them know I was there. A lady came out and said I have to wait until 1pm to check in because the receptionist was out to lunch and she can’t check anyone in. At 1:15 a person came out to take us back to the exam room. At 2:20pm a lady brings my daughter to us and proceeds and to tell us that she tried but wasn’t able to inject the dye. I asked if someone else tried and she said there was no because it’s the weekend. Then she proceeded to say “Well it’s just for headaches”. Then she said that she will send it to the dr and see if he wants to proceed with the dye. Then smiled and walked away. Her badge was turned backwards so I couldn’t see her name. As I walked out I asked what her name was.
How is it possible that no one else could assist with the injection? If it was a real emergency they would tell the patient I’m sorry, smile and walk away? How is it okay to belittle my daughter saying that it’s just for a headache. So if the dr wants the contrasted images who’s going to pay for a second mri? Who’s going to pay me for taking another day off, paying for parking and driving 45 minutes to get to the hospital? And now I have to wait another week or so to be able to get an appointment for this test while my daughter suffers and is incapacitated by these (as she puts it) only headaches. Lesson learned....very poor service and putting patients first is definitely not there.
