This Hospital is included in the category of General hospital.
The Drs and nurses are great they take time to explain ur treatment and listen to ur concerns the are the best in all of the hospitals in North West ohio area
This hospital has terrible customer service. No one greets you in waiting rooms or updates you on patient status. The rooms on the fourth floor are terribly small and basic hygeine is not considered. The cafeteria at 5pm was 1/2 open and the food served was inedible. This is not ok and Mercy needs to do something about it.
This place has been amazing. My mom has been in the ICU for 5 days and I cannot praise them enough for the amazing turn around I have seen in her health. When I went in a couple days ago the nurse answered any questions I had. If there was something I didn't understand she took the time to explain it. It was appreciated so much since the hospital she came from was the complete opposite.
All I got from my stay at this hospital (ever) is a stack of bills that they think i can pay large amount on each.
My experience at St. Rita's Medical Center was awful. Horrible healthcare in terms of nurses, no one checked up on me for hours while I'm lying in a bed unable to move and they wouldn't answered when I called for about a half an hour and then wouldn't make it to my room for another hour. It felt very impersonal. My doctor was a male and I'm a female and it is against company policy for a male doctor to check on a female patient without a female nurse or staff member present and the doctor came in alone and ended up hitting on me in the process. Also I told the faculty that I could not have a pain medication called Delodid because it makes me violently sick and they said that that was what the doctor had prescribed and that there was nothing they could do about it, so I then asked for Zofran to counteract this medication to make me not nauseas and they went to get doctors conformation. I had not heard from them for 4 hours and during those hours I spent my time naked leaned over a trash can violently getting sick while I called them over and over on the nurses button on the radio and no one came into help for those 4 hours. I was given to small throw up bags and after using those I had to go against the doctors recommendation and get up out of bed hurting my burns and sit on my knees over a trashcan to get sick. The food was horrible and the staff was mean. I was diagnosed by my doctor with 2nd degree burns and was sent out of the hospital. I then went for a check up with my doctor who wanted to see the burns at Lima Memorial and she looked at them and said they were most definitely 3rd degree burns and that I needed to see a surgeon immediately. So that day I went to the surgeons office and he agreed and set me up for emergent skin grafting surgery the next day. I had to miss 4 days of school not to mention the fact I was bed ridden for 5 days with a wound vacuum attachment and an arm sling, and had missed 2 days before for the actually happening itself. I will never be returning to this hospital again, and if you care about your health and making sure you get the best care possible I would advise that you steer clear also.
What kind of catholic christian hospital terminates main provider of family with spouse and 3 children 2weeks before Christmas ,no warnings ,called ,not even in person !!!Youngest child heart surgery and has degeorge syndrome so many health issues. Needs health coverage. What a sad image for a moral ,ethical hospital so disappointedin catholic hospital
OMG my head's going to explode! On my 4th call to St Rita's billing department to try to find out why they've lost two payments that I've made on an account from a year ago! They have no idea and it's my responsibility to fax them proof that I've sent the money! Ask for a supervisor and was told they're all on a conference call right now and can't talk to me! I believe I'm done with st. Rita's
BEWARE of this place. I came in through the ER with chest pain. I was admitted within hours. Had an echo of my heart done, stress test, and lots of other things. They said the stress test was abnormal and a heart cathetarization needed to be done. I was scared to death... and I should have run as fast as I could have from that place. They went in through my arm and into my heart and blood vessels and I was not numb all the way and I was in excruciating pain. I was crying and begging and they were callous and cruel as could be and instead just finished really fast. I felt the entire thing! It was horrible! I have never felt so violated and I don't ever wanna look at that place again. Now I'm home with horrible chest pain, my heart is jumping all over the place, and my stomach feels like ice. I think they damaged my heart because I don't feel right. Also a couple of the nurses were awful and you had to beg for anything you needed. I can't believe this place is in business! I'm mad and I'm frustrated and scared, and it's all 100% the truth and if I actually survive this, I don't know what to do next. Any advice is appreciated. ***Wanted to add, I didn't even get my heart echo results and I asked many, many times. I'm thinking I didn't get the numbers because they wanted to perform an unnecessary surgery! Why else would they withhold this information. Somethings not right about this place and I feel like I just escaped a prison.
The hospital is firing their experienced staff and physicians. Bringing in young, inexperienced people to take care of our loved ones. Not good news for Lima. Anything their administration will do to put money in their pockets.
Since Mercy took over this Hospital has gone down hill fast. Was in ER for bleeding and I am on blood thinners for heart. 5 hrs they released me with a ....we don't know if it's still bleeding in a couple of days go see somebody Billing department is very lacks won't call back and bill was ultra high for a non diagnosed problem ....just want your money. Used to be my hospital of choice but no more.
My wife was a patient at the hospital for two weeks. Doctors were good for the most part, nurses were great. Food service obviously cares little for patient comfort or health. Our biggest problem came on discharge. My wife had several home prescriptions locked up when she arrived. When discharge came, a bottle was missing. The hospital’s answer thus far is to raise their hands and say “whoopsie” leaving my wife a week short on an important medication with the hospital not lifting a finger to assist.
Need to take time out to explain the condition of the person who is injured or sick. We know it's stressful and hard long hours but nothing is worse than not knowing what is going on with your loved ones.
After my son voluntarily attempted to seek help at St. Rita's Behavioral Access through the ER, I have to let people know that the treatment was considerably demeaning and they did not care for him as suggested in their policy information. My husband and myself told our son that we would stay with him for in-patient treatment. He was severely depressed as a recovering opioid addict. We were asked to leave the room they had taken us to, so they could speak with him alone, we felt comfortable leaving the room for a short period of time. We were told to wait in "either" waiting room. We informed them of the room we would be in. After 50 minutes, my son called my cell phone and told me he was leaving. I questioned this and his reply horrified me. He was in the small room by himself after just a few minutes with a counselor. They locked the door and told him we had left. He felt abandoned and scared. He kept telling them he wanted his parents. He repeatedly informed them via the nurses call button that he was there voluntarily and he wanted the door unlocked. They were unresponsive until they told him, after 50 minutes, that he would have to ask to be discharged in order to leave. So he signed the paperwork to be able to leave and find us, his parents that promised we would stay with him. The EPIC fail by St Rita's treatment of a severely depressed patient is UNACCEPTABLE.
Going there for a severe migraine that I've had for days on end and treated like a drug seeker. No thanks. Praying for the pain to go away and then treated so poor is ridiculous. Left the hospital in horrible pain. Went to memorial within five minutes of being in the room my head pain was gone and sickness left my stomach.
Great facility
My Father in Law had surgery ended up needing to to stay 2 nights on the E5 Floor.....His weekend nurse's name was Jessica and I must say she was great!! She was very informative and explained everything to my mother inlaw for his home care and she was very patient and she showed her how to do the drain tube and read each paper and explained everything thoroughly ..Very sweet Nurse and she is Nurse of the month this month (Feb) and my husband and I say she should get Nurse of the year!!
The nurses were amazing but the doctors were the absolute worst. I was told the doctor in the E.R would come back and explain what they were going to do on the following day and that didn't happen even after I asked a nurse where he was. Worst hospital I have ever been too. Unless you are going to a specialist there, go down the road to Lima memorial.
They saved my life. I went in for Vertigo one day and as they were treating me for that they found a tumor in my neck the size of a dinner plate. Dr. Potter( Ear nose and throat) took q lot of care and time with me. Sent me to OSU. Dr Kang did the procedure. Excellent doctor. Today I am cancer free because of an amazing group of doctors that helped save me. I live an hour away from here but i now have a family practitioner that I see once a month. Jami Blackburn. Couldn't ask for a more attentive, reliable group of people
Always happy with St. Rita's. Had all of my children there and they were always good to me. They help you when you can't afford the services. I have always paid less at St. Rita's than other hospitals.
If i could put 0 stars i would have but unfortunately google made me put a star. First off the level of care i received was horrible. I was treated poorly with no compassion what so ever. I left the emergency room with no more answers to what was going on than i had prior to going to the emergency room. Thankfully i was referred to another doctor who found a problem and was able to actually fix it.. Fast forward to the bill: so i get a bill in the mail with the charges i was responsible for. I started making payments of 150.00 some times more each month. Without warning my account was sent to Frost and Arnett collections. After speaking with F&A i called st. rita's billing and was informed i was not making enough of a payment each month not to go to collections. I asked why no one ever reached out to me regarding my bill and i was told well you should of gotten a bill or a letter. No bill no letter. So i worked with F&A and immediately paid the account in full and was assured by F&A that this payment would be reported immediately. This was in feb. Now here we are in July and my account was sent to another collection agency, mind you my bill is paid in full. The new collection agency said i would need to contact st. ritas in regards to the payment i made at F&A. So i did only to be informed that no one had a clue where my payment was and i had to provide supporting documentation regarding the payment. I asked why they couldn't contact F&A and get that information and i was simply told they can't do that. So i spend a total now of 45 min calling st. ritas and then F&A. I got all the documentation they needed and sent it over immediately to the email i was given. I got a generic response stating they would service my complaint in the order in which it was received. Now a week later and i'm still getting collection calls and my account still shows past due. I have called over and over and my account is noted and it's being investigated. Since Mercy has taken over St. Rita's i have had nothing but issues with billing and the right hand doesn't seem to know what the left hand is doing. I WILL NEVER go back to this hospital ever again. I'm extremely upset and unhappy that my credit could potentially be negatively affected by something that i have already taken care of and people in their billing and collections department act like it's no big deal. Sad when this was always a "non for profit" hospital. I suggest they have better communications with their collections company or search out a better company to do this work.
This place is the absolute WORST!!! They tried billing multiple times for the same thing I was treated for a car accident and turned me debt collectors for a bill I already paid! They are greedy and the service is the terrible! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere to get treated! I hate this place many times over and feel sorry for anyone that ever goes there for treatment! I hope this place burns to the ground!!!
Wondering how the cardiologist Dr Patel and the hospital administrators sleeps at night? That man has killed people and yet they continue to allow him to have privileges.
Service wasn't bad, but their billing practices are ridiculous, unethical and I'd question if it were legal. The first notice of billing we received by mail was a late notice. A week and a half later they actually sent the first billing notice. Why would you send out a threatening letter before you even bothered sending the first bill? It wasn't even 30 days from when we received service yet. It's not the first time we've seen billing problems with them. I can only imagine how billing treats people who actually are late. Make sure you review all bills and ask for an itemized billing to make sure you don't get double charged or charged for items or services you didn't receive.
Will not go back to this hospital again, went in for injury of the ankle after a sledding accident around 2a.m... I was still in winter clothes with a friend who was with me when the accident happen and she to was in winter clothes, xrays where done, and i was in extreme pain, and had the feeling that I was going to get sick, throw up.... Hitting the nurse button and educated them on this, went ignored, was told it was a sprain and cruches and a air cast... I got treated like a druggie, all she was after was pain pills, they sent me on my way with one day off of work, 7 DAYS later I got a call from the ER department said that an actual doctor looked at my xrays and seen a break, this was the same xrays from the night not new ones and i needed to come back in to me put in a full cast, educated them that I didn't have insurance and was told that it would be paid for since it was their mistake. Couple year fast forward, still have the bill and it was educated to me that they DO NOT have radiogolist or doctor that could actually look at my xrays in that day but u are a level 2??? And you couldn't call one in, phones stopped working that day or night? I WILL NEVER EVER GO TO ST. RITAS AGAIN!! They let non doctors tell clients what they have!
Came up with my sister who had pneumonia. The nurse Morgan in the ER, who I was attempting to asked questions about how to prevent spreading it to my sister's young children. She got smart either me and snarked that she already explained it to her. Apparently it wasn't worth her time. We had to ask another nurse because it turns out, she didn't explain it to her. She just gave my sister a mask to wear. Worthless.
Tried 4 times so far today to either get a prescription of antibiotics or see the St. Ritas employed physician since 8 am today. It is now 1:45. I keep getting the run around. I have the flu and am extremely disappointed. As soon as I wrote this, they called. Moved from 1 star to 3.
I took my daughter to the ER because urgent care told us to get a cat scan. They seen us quickly and they were very diligent and thorough with her care. She was admitted to the hospital and the pediatric floor was fabulous. I have nothing but praise for St.Rita's. My daughter felt calm and comfortable with the doctor's and nurses.
St Rita's is a great hospital the care that I have received is outstanding. I have used this hospital for many years and will continue to do so. The staff is great and so are the physicians. My husband had a heart attack in St Louis and wanted to come back to Lima afterwards. Of course this wasn't possible, but that is just an example of how devoted we are to the hospital. I have lived all over the US and have been in too many hospitals and believe me when I say that St Rita's is top notch.
I had a wonderful experience with the ER staff this week. No-one wants to spend time in the ER especially 10 hours, but ALL of the staff was great. I want to give a special thank you to our ER nurse Tracey B. She was not only amazing and helpful but she stayed after her 12 hour shift was over at 1 AM to make sure my daughter was okay, I cannot say enough about the Dr's, PA's and especially the nurses. You all did an amazing job. Thank you!
I brought my wife in for a injury to her arm. 10pm filled out the paperwork, 10:15pm brought in for evaluation, 10:30pm she went in for X-rays. It's now 12:30 am and not a word. I went to the front desk, and received the preprogrammed response that the Doctor is probably figuring his next step, really, I didn't see you call back to ask. At this point, we are really talking about going to Memorial to see if they can efficiently process people. If your really hurt and in discomfort, I would not recommend St. Ritas. 2 hours in the waiting room and counting. I feel sorry for my wife, she's the one in real discomfort and tired. Oh and if your thinking it's packed in the waiting room, think again.
If you're seeking mental illness help, this is not the place to go. Doctor O. Wouldn't listen when i told him antidepressants are bad for seizures, he continued to give me the pill without contacting my neurologist and I had 3 seizures, and all they did was disregard it and put me back to bed. I did not receive proper post-seizure care. When I returned home, they had me on 7 medications that interacted badly with medications I was taking for epilepsy, or were known to have seizures as a side-effect. I overheard multiple nurses make fun of residents. Being fed pills is not receiving help.
All of my kids were born here. It has always been a greatly appreciated and under standing hospital. Hoping it will stay that way under the new "Mercy" management
I just spent a week at st.ritas due to surgery. I was on 6k and had the best care a person could ask for. My nurses was great and made my stay comfortable. Cynthia, meghan,Krystal basically all plus my tech
Why is security allowed to stalk you. Win you ain't doing nothing but waiting on a ride I've caught small one doing 3 diff times win I been there.
Great Hospital
The Best
Won't be going there again. Mental health issues they do absolutely nothing for. Tell them you cannot take a certain medication and what do you know, a nurse is drawing up that same medication into a syringe to inject you with it, good thing I asked what it was because even though I told them I couldn't take it due to side effects they were going to sneak it into my body anyways. And to top that off, they give me a prescription for the stuff as well even though you told them you cannot take it. Terrible. Will be going to Memorial from now on, Don't ask me questions and then I answer them and then just not listen, thats how it works at St Rita's.
The lady working the Mongolian grill in the cafe was not friendly. Had same day surgery today..charge nurse Ronda took me back to a room and and never came back. An hour later my husband went to ask what was going on then another nurse finally got my vitals and iv hooked up. She left and never came back. We sat there from 130 to 3 without seeing or any nurse coming and updating me on my surgery which I was told was at 1pm. My husband went and asked Ronda then called back to surgery and was told it would be another hour. She offered my husband a meal voucher which he never got. Still no nurse came to my home to see how I was doing or if I needed anything . The surgeon came in at 4 and said it was my turn . Waited another hour before a surgery nurse came for me. So after surgery nurse Melanie was great getting me ready to go home. So we were there from 1130am up to surgery at 515 and with no one keeping us posted on what was going on. Very frustrating and unprofessional. We finally get to go home bout 9pm.
Good Medical Center! And St. Rita's have a the best doctors group.
Last visit was an interrogation, and I thought doctor patient confidentiality was a law/Policy?? Can't remember the lady's name but was very rude and invasive, worse visit yet
Spent 5 days on floor 4A. I was happy to have received excellent care. Everyone was upbeat and made the patients feel better. Food and other services were great. Thank you
They put me in for a 24 hour observation after being in the ER for 7 hours. They took my iv out this morning and gave water and food. After questioning the doctor about leaving, he decided at 3:30 pm that he was admitting me fully for more testing and wanting to put my iv back in. My doctor told me "to check out of there and go to a real hospital". Never been to a hospital that required you to bring your own daily medications before. Will never go back. If there was a zero star I would rate this hospital that just on incompetent doctors.
My experience with St. Rita's hospital has been nothing but exceptional. The doctors, nurses, volunteers and all staff members are great. They've treated my father with respect and were very thorough with his care. They were always willing to update my family on his progress and were very accommodating to our needs.
I had a total knee replacement there and was treated bad.my doctor had told them l need to stay and get some rehab there and they kick me out of the hospital and I couldn't walk. On there paperwork it said I could go up and down stairs. There have get down hill my first knee replacement was there about 6 years ago and the treated me good.i like too know what happened to st.rita hospital??
St. Rita's campus fake police is a JOKE... their harrassing people thats not even on their grounds & think they can say their the real police & can take someone to jail for not showing them their I.D... they came up with 3 lies on why the stop happened.. bottom line is, you do not have 2 show them Nothing, specially if your not even on their grounds... Just request for the real police to come or call them yourself... Even the Lima police know that St. Rita's campus so called police is a Joke
Misdiagnosed my son. I had to take him 45 minutes away for Children's hospital to diagnose my son with a seizure and strept throat. He has also had a sleep study conducted due to possible sleep apnea. Doctor was arrogant as well, and didn't listen to me at all. Had to do CPR on my own son, but nothing is wrong with him...?
Horrible
I brought my daughter in tonight for an allergic reaction to medicine. After waiting 3 hours in the waiting room we were told there were still 4 people ahead of us. Multiple people were leaving to seek assistance elsewhere because they weren't getting any help here. We finally did too at 2 am. This is the second time I have brought my daughter here waited for hours and left to seek treatment elsewhere. And tonight is the last time, we will be going straight to memorial from now on where they take emergencies seriously. St. Rita's ER is a waste of time, go somewhere else you won't get much help here.
This is a wonderful place to work, the standards we are held to are exactly what the patients deserve; nothing but the best. The staff works as a team to provide proper care for each patients specific needs. Compassion is what comes to mind when I think of St. Ritas Medical Center.
I took my daughter in for smashing her little finger. They checked her out (far from the friendliest hospital staff I've encountered) and put a bandaid on her finger and sent us away. I then never recieved a bill. In order to get my bill i had to spend time getting transferred around to people that didn't seem to know what they were doing. I reccommend to everyone to steer clear of this place. Lima Memorial does not overcharge AND you get treated amazing!
Outpatient services & lab need more people working. Waiting hours for lab services is ridiculous.
I love this place. Got my last two surgery's done here, felt totally at home and actually made some good memories in my hospital room and the 8th floor has a spectacular view. They also have the best phone operator you could even imagine.
This hospital has some really rude and disrespectful nurses that I had to tell them that I didn't want one of the nurses back in the room with my mom April Hamel was her name so rude that she threatened to call security on me because I wanted to stay with my mom that was having heart issues she clapped her hands at me and said your mom is not dying so if she was dying then it's possible I could stay I called HR because this behavior is totally not acceptable.
Overall great healthcare!
Had all three of my babies at St. Rita's and had wonderful experience each time!! Kind, caring and patient team!!
Went in for side pain and ended up being hospitalized with pancreatitis which resulted in gallbladder surgery. Had to stay on the 8th floor for 4 days and all the RNs and techs were so amazing and helpful. They made my stay as comfortable as possible. Wether it was fake smiles or genuine care. Everyone on that floor put their best food forward when it came to me and my health. I will continue to go there any time in in need of emergency medical attention.
I went in the ER with an injury to hand from work. I told the receptionist this will be worker comp, i told the PA i was injured at work, I told the person that takes all your insurance info and yet I am having trouble with follow up appointments because nobody has put this in as a work related injury. While I was there they weren't able to pull up my x rays after the radiologist had looked at them. I was told to take ibuprofen over counter by the PA and he would give me an excuse for missing 1 work day. I had a nurse come in and tell me I could leave at which I told her I needed discharge papers and excuse from work. At this point another nurse came in and said ok we need to do x rays I had to tell her everything is done I'm waiting for discharge papers. Another nurse came in and said she needed a drug test done because of work injury. Finally i got discharge papers but no excuse for work so had to wait again. Now i have a Rx for ibuprofen and for vicodin???? What happened to over the counter meds??? I have spent 3 days now making phone calls to hospital, occ health and my risk management to try to get things squared away total time at hospital was 4hrs
I am extremely disappointed in the medical billing system. I was charged $18,000.00 for a 5 hour day surgery for a hernia repair!! This did not include the anesthesiologist nor the the medication nor the Surgeon and other extra charges. I have talked with medishare which is the source of bill sharing I have and they are waiting to hear how Saint Rita's will adjust my bill. However, I have left over 5 messages in 1 month to request the forms necessary to take care of this issue, but no calls have been returned and I have not received the forms. I spoke with a billing agent from Saint Rita's Medical Center today and waited on hold for over 25 minutes only to get disconnected. During the call I had given the agent my phone number and requested that if we get disconnected would he return my call. We did get disconnected and he did not return my call. I am still in the process of attempting to solve this billing issue.
Dr. BANSAL is a butcher.
I was born in there so beautiful day for go hospital to Mercyhealth!
I have sat in the waiting room in the ER for 3.5 hours and they have taken blood work almost an hour and a half ago. While I am frustrated with my own wait time, I’m more upset with the fact that a mother with her twin baby boys and her son who is probably 11 or 12 has been sitting in the waiting room for almost 2.5 hours with no treatment. The lack of response and urgency is very poor.
Man! I tried calling to ask a few questions about an upcoming procedure & was told I would have to talk with some call in nurse. So I would have to leave a message & would receive a call back. As I started to tell her since it's Saturday and I'm having it done Monday I would already be there, she just transferred me......rude!
