We had a wonderful surgery experience. Everyone was kind and accommodating and ensured that as a patient we were taken care and then as the spouse I was constantly updated. The nursing staff was so caring and the physician was informative!

Judith Neff

My recent patient experience at KMC was 5-Star for several reasons, starting with my amazing surgeon, Dr Pohl. Then there was the surgical nurse who escorted my gurney into the OR (I think her name was Janet). Just before anesthesia was administered, she sat next to me, took my hand and looked into my frightened eyes. In a soothing voice she said, “Don’t worry, I’m going to be right here with you throughout your procedure.” Those simple words were comforting beyond belief. Later, on the unit, the nurses who took care of me, as well as the nurse assistants and physical therapists, were unbelievably caring, kind, and always available when I needed them. Names I was able to jot down: Shane, Kris, Susie, Sarah, Tiffany, Chelsea, Lisa’s (A & M), and Lynn. There were others, including housekeepers transporters and food service workers, who were wonderful. I can’t thank them all enough!!

Ceceile Fryling

I had reason to visit the ER at Soin recently. The entire hospital staff was wonderful. Having said that, this review concerns only the doctor I saw. Due to Dr. Lake, I will never entrust my health needs to to at a Kettering facility

Cindy Elam

The cardiac docs at Kettering hospital saved my brothers life 3 yrs ago. The nurses were also great. I will be forever grateful.

Dee Kelley

The nurse I had was very unprofessional, rude and nasty . I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN. Point blank . If you want professional help .steer clear of this hospital .

Hank Walter

Not much to add except echoing what everyone else has already said, the worst care you could possibly get for the highest cost possible. All what this facility's management and so called care givers care about is your insurance and how much they can bill you. do your homework and find something else.

First class hospital with nurses that truly care.

On Thursday, October 5, 2017 I went to Kettering Medical Center ER. I was diagnosed with afib. I had the best possible care. The compassion and kindness that was shown to me was remarkable. I had the best nurses and caregivers. Jamie, Spencer, Natasha, Phil, Cindy and Alysia, A big shout out to Debbie (you know who you are :0) and Dr. Timothy Smile. (Yes, Smile and he did make me smile) May God bless all of you. Thank you!

Kylah Arnwine

The staff was very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone considering where to go for medical care.

Clint Holderman

Staff is nice, but I can never be here for less than two hours after an appointment for my wife. Even when we're on time. It is quite frankly rediculous

casper Devers

My directions weren't very clear to find this medical supplier in the Hospital. I ask an employee and she said "I'll walk you there " she took me straight to the door then went on about her buisness . Its hard to find someone that will give you good directions or even take you out of their way to get you where you need to go. But once I got there I only had a short wait before I got what I came for and they gave me a parking pass so I didn't have to pay the three dollar parking fee. So no complaints here. Staff for other area's of the hospital would say hello when walking by (not all) but several. That is a change from most places I've been because most places keep their head down or act like your not there and walk on by most of the people not only acknowledged me they said hello or good morning.

Anthony Lockwood

Sat here for over 9 hours. 2 of those hrs were in the waiting room and waited an hour to get discharge papers very unhappy with this hospital

Yami

We are currently in this hospital, but if I known how bad our experiences will be, I would have answered the paramedic when he asked my husband , have you been here before ? I would have told him, if we have been here before, we would not be back today. Wish primier health care is in network, we would rather be in Miami valley south. Horrible, you have to wait at least an hour to have the nurse on your room, I think are understaffed but patient should not suffered , the hospital administration doing a lousy job. I would make sure those nurses that did their job to meet my husbands need were doing a fine job. I would not recommend Kettering hospital to bring in your patient , they might die for no proper attention. They have this sign call don't fall, yup call for nurse and she will be with you in two hours, ridiculous ! I would not go back on this hospital ever again , having said that pay close attention , if you have great insurance , read reviews before coming over to Kettering hospital otherwise you will regret just like we did.

Staff was excellent

Not extremely what I thought Kettering hospital was all about.. did u know the doc in emergency room, thought my husband's bleeding from colon was due to the flu? Extreme Belly pain.. where he actually SCREAMED.. but this guy says oh.. he could have caught a bug! What A JOKE.. Ct showed.. Aortic aneurysm.. but was sent home.. for him to follow up with another doc.. And... he doesn't even have a family doc.. but they recommend their Clinic to find someone.. people find another HOSPITAL.. THIS ONE ISNT SUITABLE FOR A STRAY CAT! and wanted my husband to fill out a survey on how they did!! I said good thing I'm not filling that out! Plus.. ask the doc..if you have the flu.. do u scream with pain and bleed out your @$$?? He went to the next room, and another man was having same issues with belly.. guess what.. Flu again.. doc needs to go back to school, missed his calling for trash collection.. JOKE! The only good thing was the RN. and prn

The care I received at Kettering Hospital was exceptional; however the patient room I was assigned to on the med/surg floor was enough to prevent me from choosing another stay in Kettering. First off I want to say that the nursing care, especially from Debbra (1st shift) & Matt (2nd shift) was outstanding! Even with a nursing shortage both of them provided consistent superb patient care, and with a positive & upbeat attitude. Lastly, the actual room was incredibly small with barely enough room for staff to maneuver around, considering the IV pole I had to have. The bathroom was barely large enough to turn around once inside and there was no shower! After my surgery, I was given a walker to use to get from my hospital bed to the bathroom. I had to actually lift it while trying to balance on one foot so that I could get inside the mini bathroom! I found this completely unacceptable in a hospital. Also, two days prior to my discharge, maintenance moved another hospital bed into the already space-challenged room. I thank God I was off the IV pole by then because it would have been impossible to maneuver. Nutrition could barely get my tray onto the side table next to me. Also from the point of having the 2nd bed in the room, my privacy was non-existent. I felt invisible with all the hospital administrators, maintenance & housekeeping who kept coming in to check on various details of the room. Since rest was eminent for my recovery I thought this was incredibly insensitive to my medical needs. Because of the room accommodations I will not be back to Kettering, but will choose Soin, Sycamore or Troy for any future hospital stays. Three stars were for the hospital nursing staff, who really deserve 5 stars!!

C Samms

I normally have great experiences with this hospital. This last time was not a good one. My room was what looked like a storage closet and no one could find us. I don't feel that they took me serious at all. Was just disappointed with this last visit.

AprilHam Lincon

My father was admitted several years ago for cancer treatment. The nurses took forever to give him his medicines at scheduled times and he suffered excessively because of this. Maybe they were short staffed but there is no excuse. He ended up passing away because of an issue which should have been addressed before beginning chemo. I now have PTSD and cannot enter medical facilities or go to my own doctor appointments without anxiety and panic attacks. Only giving one extra star because the food was good.

Bryan Freshour

Went in with chest pains, was treated fast and felt like i was getting the best care possible! The tests were quick and Dr's were quick to get results back to me. All good reviews

Anthony Atkins

I needed an MRI done the Dr. and Nurses treated me Awesome

Rhea Lanae

Had a very scary illness and was transported from grandview to kettering cause they had a neurologist on site. Very scary and intimidating!!!! Doctors n nurses went out of way to keep me informed and comfortable during my 3 week stay. Never left me in dark and did all they could to treat withoht surgury on spine....succeeded!!!! Great staff thanks

Leslie Biddle

I went in to the emergency room with a painful leg that was red and hot to the touch. An ultrasound was performed and ruled out a DVT. I was then told by the condescending PA that it wasn't an infection just an allergic reaction to something. I assured her I wasn't exposed to anything different. I was sent home with Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream prescription. My leg continued to get redder and more painful so I called my primary care doctor and made an appt. After seeing my doctor she stated that it looked like an infection and wanted to treat it as such.....needless to say after just a couple doses of antibiotics my leg is not red anymore and appears to be healing. Swing and a miss Kettering E.R. I will NOT be back!

I just want it to share my experience in Kettering medical center on 7/24/2018. All the staff members were extremely professional, and they may feel comfortable, knowing that this was my first surgery .After leave the hospital, I had a nurse checked on me, just to make sure that I was doing fine; Everything when well including the recovery time. Thanks to all members of the Kettering medical center and the Doctor for their caring, dedication and professionalism. Thank you! !

Janet Hovey

Waiting 4+ hours in the ER and still have not seen a Dr. ER staff rude and unhelpful. Several people have walked out after waiting more than 5 hours. Apparently hospital full and can’t move ER patients upstairs so they are keeping them in the ER. So no room to see anybody else. HAs been this way all night but they did not disclose this until after they run lab work etc. We are stuck!!!

Steve Chapman

The care that I received was exceptional, and the Nurses, Nurses Aides, Doctors, Housekeeper, and Kitchen staff were absolutely excellent. Thank-you for your wonderful care.

Candy Williams

The nurses and assistants took excellent care of me. They also made sure my family was comfortable too.

Rhonda V. Mathews

Not happy with the emergency department situation. A very long wait time. Got discharged and still had to wait. Smh

I feel somewhat guilty for not posting this earlier in hopes that some will not suffer the same fate my mother did. I will keep this to the point as much as possible. My mother was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer in August of 2017, after her diagnoses I decided to take her to the Kettering Cancer Center. Below is our experience until June of 2018 when she passed away in my opinion from chemo complications. Her face time with the oncologist never extended beyond 15 minutes, a typical visit will consist of an hour wait on average followed by vitals and 5 to 15 minutes maximum with the nurse practitioner and if we’re lucky then the oncologist himself, the time itself is not the issue however the oncologist or the nurse practitioner typically came with little to no preparation or review of my mother’s bloodwork, CAT scans, PET scan or whatever else we had to do and usually spent the first few minutes reviewing that information during the visit. And if that is not a problem by itself the time to explain the side effects of the chemo she is taking or about to take is none existing instead you are handed a piece of paper from the nurse with a long list of side effects and that is it. Questions from my mother regarding the side effects she is suffering is typically met with the same answer, “it is the chemo and it will go away” which was never the case, the side effects never went away and continued to escalate and became a norm as severe as they were. The same can be said regarding radiation at the site and the follow up chemo that in my opinion eventually ended her life less than 5 weeks of taking it, at the time I did not know that many of the side effects could have been averted, lessened by additional support such as proper treatment and nutritional support for the severe oral mucositis that they referred to as mouth sores!! Instead they gave her a mouth wash for it which is not what the American Cancer Society recommends for severe oral mucositis. Or therapy treatment for her lymphedema (her torso, hip and legs tripled in size) that was never offered and speaking of lymphedema, they initially blamed on it the cancer until I questioned the oncologist and I found out that it was another side effect from radiation that was never explained. Prior to the last treatment I asked the oncologist if he thinks she is strong enough to handle another round of chemo and the answer was yes yet 5 weeks later and after a long list of new side effects she passed away. At the end in my opinion my mother died due to extreme malnutrition from not eating or drinking for 4 weeks when her oncologist neglected to treat her oral mucositis or offer nutritional support instead he changed her advance healthcare directive to DNR and had us transfer her to hospice regardless of my constant calls and requests during the visits for supportive treatment. In conclusion with something as serious as cancer Kettering Cancer Center failed my mother at every step of the way with zero transparency, zero explanation of options or side effects and instead the staff blamed everything on the cancer where in my opinion the radiation, chemo and the array of other medication is what caused her permanent damage to her lymph nodes, digestive tract, nerves etc. In short after $600.000 of medical bills paid by the two insurances she had her so called 5 years survival chance was reduced to 10 months of agony and all the credit goes to the Kettering cancer center and her oncologist and there is much more than I could possibly explain in this review.

My recent hospital stay was made better by the outstanding staff. My nurse Tricia was one of the best and most compassionate nurses I’ve ever dealt with. Thank you for making a difficult time better!

Kelly Sawyer

Overall the experience was good even though I was so sick. The nurse was very nice and kept me informed. The Nurse Practitioner was nice and helpful. Gave me a plan of action and asked if I had any questions. When the doctor walked in his first question to me was “this has been going on for a month. Why didn’t you call your doctor”. That one statement made me feel so unwelcome in the ER. Im in Ohio from Southwest Florida as a traveling Nurse. I called my doctor when I got sick and she called an inhaler into the pharmacy in Ohio. When I got to the point where I couldn’t breathe she sent me to the ER. This young doctor was so quick to condemn me for not seeing my family doctor. If he would’ve rephrased his question he would’ve known my doctor is 1064 miles away. It’s not easy being so far from home but when you’re sick it feels much worse. The entire staff except for the upset doctor made the visit easier for me. Thank you Kelly Sawyer RN

The nurses were great. And the ladies who set up my after surgery rehabilitation were wonderful.

Janie Schelling

This place was amazing to my baby girl while she was in the NICU before she was transferred! Loved all her nurses and doctor! The doctors and some nurses after I had her I did not like! They didnt treat me very well in recovery. Not not all was bad during my 4 day stay. I'd say it was 50/50! If I had to rate for just me I'd give maybe a 1. But I'm giving more because of how well the NICU treated me and my daughter in the NICU!

Truth Light

Been here 6 hrs. All ready treated my friend. Had me in the waiting room a hour . only to see what taking them so long. Nurse is called fifteen mins comes to answer call and claim to discharge him. An can't discharge him or give a damn shot because they put his name in the computer backwards. This is the worst place ever it you trying to make it home.

Cyneca Greene

I love Kettering Medical Center. I had surgery there in December 2015. Before my surgery I was able to meet all of the people who would be in the operating room with me and they answered all of my questions. After surgery I was well taken care of. The nurses on my floor encouraged me to get up and walk that same night and after a few days let me walk by myself around the floor. Also a nursing student came in my room and lotioned and massaged my feet since I couldn't reach them; that was very sweet of her. My nurses were patient, understanding, funny and kind. That's not an easy job, but someone has to do it. I had a private room that was very clean with a slight view of the Christmas lights out front. After 3 days I was discharged. In the future if I ever have to have any surgery (God forbid) I will definitely go back to Kettering Medical Center. It is clean, the Dr.'s, nurses and staff are professional, and they truly care about your health and they will get you on the road to recovery! They are a TRUE model for other hospitals.

Potato Queen

My sister was in their ER for over 5 hours. Insanity. Have an emergency? Go elsewhere.

Cora Stang

I wish I could give them zero stars, when it comes to hospitals this place is a garbage can, nice building and useless doctors and nurses.

adiadv10

I’ve seen good treatment here, but it could never outweigh the bad. My apologies to the great caregivers at this hospital who do not deserve to be affiliated with my 1 star rating for the facility.

Michael Archer

Went there for a serious back and Neck problem and spent 100 dollars round trip give or take . Waited in the lobby. Watched them Let people jump in line who were clearly not Suffering Like I was. When I did get in I talked to the doctor and 2 nurses . Now I am Back home and I’m horrible pain. Strictly business and they are immature kids . I’m sure they help people but not Me .

Nic Zawosky

completley horrible experience.

I and my family have sought treatment st KMC for over 30 years. We have always had competent and superior service until this last experience with my Mother. ER was great and the friendliness of all was wonderful. Sadly the attentiveness and follow through of the staff was sadly lacking once admitted. My patience is now gone as I have made several calls to get the things straightened out to no avail. The story to long and to complex to write. This is not the same KMC we are used to. Be advised to stand on their shoulders to get things done. I am beyond furious and will continue to advocate for my 85 year old mother. Such a shame to feel this way about my once trusted institution.

Tony Davis

I had micro-discectomy decompression surgery today. Dr. Gorman performed the procedure. He did a fantastic job. I feel truly blessed. All of the staff including excellent nurses, anesthesiologist and staff, from beginning to end. Well, I guess the end is not yet as I am staying overnight as you see from the picture. Here are just a few of the wonderful people involved in my care. Dr. Richard Gorman, Alivia Forkum, Kim, Tami, Jennifer with Dr. David Grigg- anesthesiologist, Mollie, Madison, Linda, Renita, Sarah and _____? In post-op. I am sorry if I didn't include your name. Everyone involved was absolutely wonderful. The picture of the plaque was taken on my initial pre-op registration visit in a waiting room. It is very accurate. Thank you so much to Kettering Hospital and all the great staff!

I took my almost 33 week pregnant daughter in as requested by her obstetrician because she was experiencing bleeding. Her obstetrician wanted an ultrasound done but there were no open time slots so she said just go into Kettering labor and delivery and have an ultrasound done. When we got there of course they had her pee in a cup but NEVER CHECKED IT! The nurse just VISUALLY glanced at it and flippantly said oh I don’t see any blood! What medical professional does that?! And never did get an ultrasound even though that is specifically why the doctor sent her in there was to have one! Do you nurse her self was a little further along pregnant then my daughter and kind of acted like the hospital was doing her some big favor for even seeing her. There were about 15 nurses sitting at the desk area just gossiping their butts off. I was very disheartened because this was the absolute WORST EXPERIENCE I’ve ever had there. Obviously I will be consulting the patient relations department as well.

James Leonard

Lack of signage and maps make it very difficult to find the main entrance into the facility from the parking garage. Plan on walking a long way without any help staff.

Brenda Phelps

They are going cheaper and gotten rid of butterfly needles and use ones that are not very share and ofen miss the vein. I am in the hospital after 3 days with 2 blown sites 6 total IV punctures, 4 failures and 13 total puncture sites. I have been screaming from the severe pain and have been stuck for 38 yrs. This is the worst torture I have experienced with being stuck. Nursing Supervisor Joann would not give me a name and have the vague committee decided this answer and was no help.

brenda rosell

Simply the best! Taking care of me for 8 years.Best Doctors. Everyone is caring and kind.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS Practice everyday !!

My “review “ ended up in the ask the Community a question section of this website?!! Oops!! That’s what I gets for not wearing my glasses!! Sorry!!! I hated sharing a negative experience but it was not just one little incident. It was more like a constant mess after mess after mess and on and on!!!They didn’t have a place to properly dispose of bloop and other human waste. So the nurse literally looks around while dripping blood everywhere as he had removed ii and he said, “oh well!” Shrugs his shoulders and tosses the iv line and bag that contained at least 50% of my blood dripping out again everywhere...I could not believe my eyes as to what I was waitressing!! I understood as to why in the past they had such a problem with Staph Infections and patients dying!! Coming in perfectly healthy and air a minor surgery and dead in less than a week!! It is my hope that they have worked out the kinks that were in their system and those problems are in the past!?!!! Hope all this info helps??

Horrible hospital

This is just a PSA if you know anyone who may deliver their baby at Kettering Hospital... **Make sure they take your urine drug test prior to delivery like they’re supposed to. Urine sample and order for screening needs to be sent to the lab together. Failure to execute a simple drug screening cascaded into a series of events that made our experience very emotional and stressful. The way the information was delivered (accusatory. Criminalizing) The additional night we had to stay secondary to their screw up. (Insurance will love this) ** When I arrived to Labor and Delivery I was told to pee in a cup for my drug test (required of all moms prior to delivery) I did so and handed it to the nurse who left it next to the computer. After delivering our baby and transferring to our mom and baby room for the following days we were told that they didn’t have my drug test so they needed to collect urine from our baby to process the drug screen. On the day of our discharge we were told we had to stay an additional night because our sons urine was positive for Opiates and hydrocodone. They needed to do an assessment on him when he was 72 hours old to check for withdrawal symptoms. After lengthy discussions with the Kettering Pediatrician, trying to understand how this was possible, I offered to do additional test as well as requested documentation of all persons involved with the urine test (who collected it? who did they give it to? Who processed it?) which they were not be able to do. We asked if the epidural or Nubain provided during delivery would cause the positive drug test and we were told “it would test positive for Opiates but not hydrocodone. So nothing you were given by us would have caused this positive test” - Implying it came from somewhere else (Me) They did send our sons urine off for additional testing, a GC- MS confirmatory test, and sent his cord blood in for testing as well. (This would take days before results could come back) They told us it is protocol for Social Services to be notified and they would stop by our room that day. Social Services told us they only contact child protective services when the confirmatory test and or cord blood test come back positive. Our son passed his required assessment with flying colors. No evidence of withdrawal so we were able to discharge at this point. Once we were told about the positive drug test we asked for Patient relations to get involved since we didn’t like the way we were feeling criminalized for something I know I didn’t do, the failure on their part not processing my drug test prior to delivery, for the fear of what was in my sons system when I know I didn’t take anything and for the overall emotional distress. Fast forward 2 weeks- the charge nurse calls us and schedules a conference call between her, myself and Patient relations. I told her we still were not notified of the cord blood test. She said it was negative but all the doctors were baffled. They didn’t know that Nubain could metabolize and show up as hydromorphone (a metabolite of hydrocodone)

I had to rate this hospital with 1 star or I wouldn’t be able to tell you what a horrible experience we had . Waiting on my grandson to be delivered wasn’t bad . He had a rough entrance. Things went horrible when the baby got moved to NICU . He had only 2 nurses that I know of that weren’t ridiculously rude . We were told he had to sleep at least 3 hours, how could he they would come in and wake him up ! Then they verbally attacked his mommy . One nurse told her she was UNFIT and said she had 2 other nurses sign off on it also. So something that was one of the best things that could ever happen to my family was marred by your staff in the NICU.

Amber McCombs

Yesterday at 10am my 74 yr old grandmother was taken to Kettering E.R for a stroke, shes been to this hospital before for a stroke and received beautiful care, but this time is the total opposite! It is now 7:23AM the next day and she is still waiting in E.R for a bed to come open!! Unacceptable!!

The Scrap Guy

Don't go here for anything pain related or you are just wasting your time. They treat everyone that walks through the door like they're junkies and do nothing for you. I guess they are too lazy to run a tox screen if they have any suspicions. All these heroin slobs screw things up for everyone else. This place needs to rethink their methods. They are supposed to be doctors, not judges... And they base their treatment on your appearance. If anyone would like to get a class action suit going against this place, contact me.

Brenda Bailey

These wonderful doctors and nurses saved my life. The entire staff at this hospital was professional and all-caring. I will be eternally grateful! I was on a business trip and fell ill...a thousand miles from home...and thank you, Jesus, for leading me to the hospital with the bright glowing cross you can see from the Interstate.

Lana Varmatos

Kettering Hospital is one of the best hospitals I have ever been in. I've been in 12 different hospitals in my lifetime for various surgeries. For good care & excellent people I recommend Kettering.

Roger Brower

Love how the drs and nurses treat you, much better than other hospitals

Rebekah O' Malley

My adult daughter was air cared to this hospital which is 55 miles from our home and I received a call in the early morning that she was involved in an accident and was at Kettering Memorial. I immediately called Kettering Memorial and while the receptionist directed my call to her room, I hear a pick up and the call ended and this happened 4 times. I called again and asked to speak to the Nursing Supervisor, but the nurse that answered was rude and said I had to talk to her, I ask my daughters condition and she raises her voice repeating..."Do you know her HIPAA Code? " I said what is a HIPAA Code? She starts to tell me all about the privacy laws WHICH ANY ONE KNOWS about, I stop her and ask I know what HIPAA is BUT WHAT IS THIS CODE? She with a heightened voice repeats..."THE CODE! THE CODE! and without it I cant give any info on your (my) daughter without IT!" Heck what if my daughter wasnt able to speak when brought in and there was NO CODE? Turned out that was the case, yet this Kettering Memorial nurse in all the commotion I didnt ask her name, and she more or less hung up on me when I questioned and didnt know about a CODE. It ISNT like everyday one has to call a hospital AND KNOWS the protocol! EXTREMELY UNCARING, and ABSOLUTELY RUDE in knowing a loved one is in an accident AND UNDER THEIR CARE. After being hung up on, I call again AND AGAIN the call to my daughters nurses station and to her room was disconnected, AGAIN 4 times disconnected! after I call and recall and was finally connected. When I did finally talk to my daughter she had no idea where the Nurse Call Button was, nor where there was a nurse I could talk to. I finally did talk to a Nurse Supervisor and even when you calmly explain what I just experienced the Super also became a bit aggravated, blunt and uncaring with me on the phone. Seems concerning almost everything today- if you are violated, the attitude and the reply you get is DONT COMPLAIN. UTTERLY RIDICULOUS the service I received from THIS Hospital STAFF.

Jay Rader

Have never had a bad experience at Kettering hospital as far as I am concerned the best hospital in the world

Patricia Spanel

Worst hospital ever bad experience I ever had here I would not recommend this hospital to anyone

christy lauwers

All the Nursing staff, RN and N.A. are so caring and there when you need help the most. Keep up the outstanding work especially the 2320 room floors. :)

Christy Cridlebaugh

I don't go anywhere else now. I've been to all hospitals in this area, and 6 months in ICU@The Valley. I appreciate the Valley, but there's no place like home, ya know? I love the staff, and they try their hardest to help all the patient rooms as soon as they push the button.

Jerry Renfrow

Wait time for initial contact was less than 10 minutes.

Elizabeth Grigg

I could have gone to Iceland to a hot spring instead for the cost I was charged for physical therapy. The stress of dealing with an exploitive price was not worth the benefits. I was extremely misled as to what I would be charged and what my insurance would cover. I would not recommend this experience to anyone.

Carol Amore

I have a terrible fear of doctor and hospitals and I made sure everyone knew that. I went to emergency room Feb 15 at about 4 am with severe pain. I was first visited by a student doctor with whom I explained I preferred to see a doctor. when the doctor did come, she came with another student. I have nothing against students but they make me feel uncomfortable as I prefer my information be between me and the doctor. This doctor had no problem with that. Every on was nice to me and the doctor sent me for an x ray and ultra sound. I was waiting for results when this guy walked in and said he was in charge and he wanted to know why I was there, which made my hair stand up and put me on edge. I told him that i was uncomfortable talking to him and if he was in charge to see the doctor I spoke with originally. He told me that if i didn't talk to him, he was kicking me out, AMA. His name was Dowler. I did leave and I did not sign any papers. I am still in extreme pain. I would encourage any one that goes to this hospital to avoid him because he acts like a tyrant and it's his way or the highway. What happened to my patient bill of rights and my privacy? Since I left, I don't have the test results, which apparently Dowler didn't care about. I'm not the best of patients but I should not have been treated this badly by a doctor who thinks he is a god. So now I have to go to another hospital.

Nestor Bruno

Great place, especially the staff members. I am very grateful.

Amber Matheny

I am EXTREMELY concerned with myself, that I've considered this hospital my number 1 go too. That quickly plumeted into the ground.

Deanna Meadows

Love the hospital and staff they were wonderful. Thanks to all of the Doctor's and Nurses that took care of me..Great job everyone.

Doug Brother

There should be an option for ZERO, this place should be avoided like the plague. absolutely no sense of compassion or care whatsoever for the patient wellbeing, my mother treated there and in the hospital. as everyone else said all they care about is the money. Dr Thomas Reed and his staff I really hope you get treated the same way one day.

Belinda Cobb

I went into the nursing the Emergency Center and I am an alcoholic have been on my life but I have never been treated as rude as they were to me they wanted to pick out a seven word a 7-letter word for a alcoholic so the nurses called me a drunkard and I could hear them outside of my room I mean you know people have problems I'm working on correcting my problem but what the hell give them any reason to stand there and ridicule me and pass judgment I'm sure not everyone of them are perfect

Nancy Salter

Avoid this place, a surgery that went horribly bad and nothing can be done about it.

Heidi Cox

we went there for a surgery, doctor did not complete the surgery. NOTHING was done. total bill over $100k

Pamela K Sparks

Great hospital only had trouble with one person in E R. He was a real jerk. Mean and nasty me

Chad S

Out of many hospitals I have been to and in many states. To me this is #1 My recent experience was not as good as it was 5 years ago and 3 years ago, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. My opinion even when the service wasn't as good, just off a little by how busy they was and wait time, other than that it still rivals any hospital I have been to. Even the Dr. Network associated with this hospital are top notch. Now I will state I learned that buying a hospital and putting the Kettering name, like they did with Fort Hamilton is not the same. It improves the service and overall quality, but by far it is not Kettering like this hospital is.

Michael Abel

They have an excellent facility and staff. They took really good care of my wife. Someone needs to add the new Kettering Cancer Center to Google maps...just across the street it is also an excellent facility.

abe nairat

I am a sickle cell patient , i came with sickle cell crisis and i had a cute chest syndrome. I was in a cery severe pain and flu and fever. This could kill me . I nurse was so unhelpful and she was so bad to me. I eas crying from pain and i explained to her i am in crisis. She did not do anything. And she let me wait an ahour with sickle cell crisis . This hospital is horrible .

Scott Wooldridge

This doctor, nurse, technician, and staff were wonderful people. I was treated with respect and kindness. They saw to my medical needs in a timely manner. I think I waiting around a half an hour in before going into a room. I hate going to hospital and hope I never have to go back to one, but if for some reason I would have to, I would want it to be this one.

Richard Wilson

Had heart surgery here on 10/1/19. From registration, cardiac testing, surgical team, ICU to the Stepdown Unit before discharge could not have been nicer or more concerned. I really felt “carried for” and always with a kind word, encouragement and a smile. In such difficult times as heart surgery, these are the kind of people you want caring for you. I cannot say enough about how well I was cared for. Fantastic!!!

Brittany Baer

I delivered both of my children here (my son in February of 2017 & my daughter September of 2019) the staff was more than helpful both stays. I complimented probably every staff member that came into my room because you could tell they were actually passionate about their job and not just there for a paycheck. I am very grateful for KMC & do not have one complaint! Thank you all so much for all of your hard work! ❤️

Debra Gariety

If you have an emergency make sure you come in an ambulance. My son is so sick we’ve been here over 2 hours and no doctor or nurse has even looked at him.

GUY MBANYAMSIG

Ive been to kettering hospital twice for labor and delivery, and each time I had my kids, everyone was amazing! doctors, staff, nurses, even the aides that bring the food, on every shift each nurse was so sweet and caring even on third shift the nurses were energized and helpful, they made me feel so comfortable I felt like I was home, even the director of nurses, was so caring and wanted to make sure I was well tooken care of, which I was. I love kettering hospital and I recommend kettering to all my friends and family, Ive also been to the emergency department and got the same respect. the hospital overall is the best! My mother had to go to the cancer center, they wanted to double check her screening, we were so scared but everyone made the whole family feel so comfortable and worry free, we had so much faith that everything was going to come back fine but the staff there gave us double confidence, and everything was fine, from my family we really appreciate Kettering Hospital.

Rowan Kirk

worst medical experience i’ve EVER endured. waited 2 hours in the waiting room while i was seizing and then they had me on a gurney in the hallway for 5 hours before i got a room.

Pat Payne

All the 5 stars reviews are left by employees, this facility is one of the worst I visited. was treated by Dr Thomas Reid and his staff. No accountability and very poor communications.

Ashley Selby

Everytime I have had to go to kettering medical center I have had a positive experience and my grandmother inlaw has been taken care of everytime she was sent her. I chose kettering anyday over a mercy hospital. Its sad that they dont have kettering based hospitals in Toledo, Ohio.

Julie Beane

Great nursing staff in labor & delivery.

Ashton Roberts

Do yourself a favor and find a hospital and doctors that actually cares about treating their treating the patient not focusing on how much many they can extract from the insurance and the patient. What a disgrace.

Saundra Menefee

The facility was clean. Every staff I encountered was very kind and knowledgeable.

Angie Croley

I always went to this hospital because it's where my whole family went and always received the best care, until now!! I went with my arm swollen, 5 times the normal size, they didn't even do blood work. All because I have a history of addiction. They just assumed it was an infection!! When it got worse even on the antibiotics they acted like I was drug seeking!! Went to another hospital and they were amazed that they didn't even do blood work. Needless to say say I was admitted immediately!! This is the second time something like that has happened to me and someone else close to me at this hospital!!

Robert Crum

On August 14th 2018 at 1:30 p.m. I had a massive heart attack.. I was rushed from Kettering (new one at Middletown just off Middletown exit) To Kettering Hospital in Dayton rushed into surgery #1 had a long blockage in front of my heart took 3 stints..Thursday morning 9:00 a.m. back into surgery #2 back of my heart had 100% blockage 1 stint put in.... The Amazing quick actions taken at Kettering was Amazing Thank You Kettering Hospital.. Thank You Dr.Ziwar F Karabatak (Cardiologist) And to a Awesome and Amazing Staff in The ICU....

Brian Clark

So my mom was treated in ER and admitted. We know that she has an inoperable heart condition and have known for a while. Can you imagine doctors suggesting that perhaps your family member should not be resuscitated if they have a heart attack? This is the experience we received. When you reach the level that doctors are suggesting your family member; who in all other aspects have great stats; BP ; heart rhythm ; kidney and liver functions; and all faculties maybe shouldn't be resuscitated the next time - fails miserably at the "caring practitioner" guidelines. Either these doctors are being programmed to an alternative protocol ; or life and life saving procedures no longer are part of a doctor's repertoire. We will not be going back here - and if you have loved ones ; you can take what I say with a grain of salt - or you can deeply consider my warning.

Alice Kendall

Went in to the ER. Got misdiagnosed and told, "Nothing more we can do." Went home $2k poorer and much sicker.

Theresa Fugate

If admitted for cardiac reasons I wouldnt want to be anywhere else. However if coming thru the ER you are taking your life in your own hands. ER Dr.s will not believe you most of the time, and if admitted thru the ER the medical attending and residents at most times will not listen to the pt. and often does not believe the pt. especially with abdominal and/or chest pains. However the specialists associated with this hospital are fantastic. Beware of some of the residents and cardiac fellows though. Otherwise this is a fantastic hospital if needing cardiac caths or open heart surgery

Cassandra Jordan

Very Nice Staff

Horrible after birth care, nurses in mother and baby left my old lady laying in bed for an hour while she had to pee. One of the nurses complained to security about how I smelled and security told me if I smell again I'll be trespassed. Like how I smell is effecting their job. If the nurse came in smelling like nasty feet and I complain are they gonna send her home with a trespass warning? Hell no. Fresco the cafe on the main floor has a woman who has absolutely no business making coffees as she is just passing out plain coffees with whipped cream. I ordered a hazelnut cappuccino, recieved a basic coffee. Ordered a large Carmelo today and received a basic coffee with whipped cream. No flavor nothing. I paid 5 bucks for a specialty coffee and received a 2 dollar cup of Joe. Horrible horrible experience. Hospital is ran by people who take no pride in job. The worst part about the whole experience is that every time I go to leave or enter mother and baby the lady running the mag lock doors is always gabbing it up with others, ignoring the door and people buzzing it. I wouldn't let a dog give birth here. Hands down worst hospital experience ever. If you have a problem with the way someone smells be an adult and confront them politely, dont act like a child and complain to security and have someone's right to see their baby taken away. What a childish thing to do.

Brandon Cowden

Does it even matter? When you cut your finger off on the meat slicer at work. Nobody's comparing their local ER staff. Your ass is booking it to the closest ER

Greg Taylor

Best emergency room experience. It was busy but they got us in and out and most importantly excellent care and great staff.

Kelly Espy

This hospital is the worst! Rude nurses and even ruder registration staff.

Janet Little

My daughter was recently hospitalized for nearly a week at your facility. I am a retired RN with Critical Care and Quality Administration experience, so I feel qualified to comment on your facility, her care and overall observation during her stay. I was very impressed with the professionalism, attentiveness, and personal interactions of the staff, at ALL levels; from the sweet lady in the parking garage to the volunteer that escorted her at discharge. The physicians and nurses were caring and personable, as well as efficient. The cleanliness of the hospital was unmatched with any I've seen or worked in over the years. Such a pleasure to see and smell. Thank you for your dedication & standards!

Brian B

Everyone is always really sweet and nice, we had our son there...can I just say wow, best place to have a child. It never takes forever to be seen, the doctors get right down to doing there job on top of helping you feel safe., the security their is always really nice and let you know your safety is very important to them, it's always nice and clean and I just really love it there. Parking isn't the best but it's worth it. Would recommend to anyone, come here before you waste your time and go to Death Valley, if you want to be treated like you mean somthing definitely come here.

kathryn robinson

lgbt patients not welcome, according to thier religious tennants. as a trans girl I was denied my script for cough syrup replaced by a religious pamphlet, then misgendered on purpose by the head nun guised as medical personell.

Theresa Kleinfelder

Had a really good experience when I had surgery. Staff treated me well. Clean and beautifully decorated. All went well. No complications.

Aimee Borden

I went here by squad. After throwing up non-stop for over 5 hours. I also started losing control of other bodily functions. Also having severe pain in my arm and chest. As well as having trouble breathing. I have a lot of medical problems and I'm on a lot of medications. The only thing they did for me was monitor enzyme levels of my heart. I have a history of blood clots. I even have genetic mutations that causes blood clots and I have to be on blood thinners for life, because of them. They did no scans of any kind to see if that could be my problem. I asked for something for the pain over and over. They saw I was on pain medication and that I have been for awhile. Which is to control my chronic back and neck pain. Then they treated me like a drug addict. Which I'm not and never have been. They said they would have to do a drug test. Which took them forever to do. Which it was clean and I knew would be. When you get pain medication your doctor has to test you for street drugs and other drugs it's the law. To make sure your not taking anything your not suppose to. Anyhow I felt like they didn't want to really do any thing for me. They kept me for a little bit for observation. Then I was released. I ended up a couple days later having a CT scan by one of my doctors. Which showed I had Pericardial Effusion. Which is fluid around the heart. I feel I was not given the medical care I should of been given.

Roody Garat

Do to the fact that i can no longer use Miami Vally hospital as my primary hospital, i am forced to use Kettering Medical. So, i show up tonight not being able to breathe because of my Asthma, and the RN ask about my pain level. I told her , I dont have any pain. I can't breathe. She replied, we call you when we're ready. This situation wouldn't ever happened to me at Miami Vally. I never once in my life experience something like this. Sitting here in this lobby taking one slow breathe breathe at a time.

Jeremy Greene

Best friend died on the table here. Dad died on the table here. Sister was sent home with 10% heart function, essentially to die. Had to beg to be sent to specialist in Louisville to get heart transplant.

kaitie ogrady

Everything was great! I am only giving 4 stars though because I was given a false positive on my pregnancy test. I went in for heart palpitations due to medication. The doctor came in and said “all of my results where negative except pregnancy.” I started to freak out (thank god they were already monitoring my heart cause I am SURE it skipped a few beats when those words left his mouth) the doctor offered to show me the results on the computer because I didn’t believe him. He goes to show me and the results were showing positive but within 10 seconds the lab changed them to negative. It was in fact negative. I do not blame the doctor for this, I blame whoever entered my results from the lab. Mistakes happen but this is someone’s life you are affecting if you are incorrect. The lab should have been more careful before entering results like that.

Janet Green

Was in the ER this weekend and was very satisfied. They transferred me to another floor that is still outpatient stats and I stayed two nights. Care was good until they found I was to be discharged and then most caretakers just disappeared. They must be short staff.

Banks Coggin

Worst care i have ever seen. Will never return here. Be careful....

Carolyn Cope

I was treated with, Concern and Respect. I'm very Thankful I was at Kettering Medical.

david ostrander

I have had good experiences at this emergency room. Staff had been attentive and have gotten into a waiting room quickly. Depending on condition the length of stay can vary.doctors and nurse's are great!

Joe Trombley

I was recently in a car accident that left me with a broken neck. The nursing staff at Kettering was absolutely phenomenal. They did everything they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I wish I could thank them all personally on here, but I'll have to settle for a 5 star review on their behalf. Thank you guys so much

Chasemoneyx 0

I have had 2 of the worst experiences of my life at Kettering hospital the 1st experience was 4/22/16 when I gave birth to my 3rd child. They claim a pain pill or something close showed up in my drug screen which then they test the baby by putting a plastic bag around your infants genitalia to collect simples when they urinate and poop. Needless to say I am the parent that wouldn’t even take Ibuprofen when I’m with child so for them to make such false allegations were absolutely absurd. When they tested my infants stolls and found nothing not they want to say it was a false positive never once apologized for taking me through stress after giving birth nothing. My 2nd experience was 11/17 when my child who is on the Autism Spectrum took a liter and lite my 2 year olds hair on fire. I immediately called his psychiatrist and was told Kettering hospital has an impatient stay for children I just need to take him through the emergency department and they get him admitted through there. I’m speaking with the caseworker giving them some background about my son that this wasn’t an easy choice for me to bring him told him about things he has done before that lead me here today to try and get him some help to protect himself and my 2 other children at home. A few days go by and I get a letter from Children Services the caseworker at the hospital called them on me even though by law CPS won’t disclose who made the call but out of 11 yrs it wasn’t the school, my neighbors, any of his doctors it was the caseworker at Kettering Hospital who I poured my hard out made the hardest decision that day to seek help for my child called them on me. I received my visit form them the 1sr week of 12/17 a month later 1/18 CPS sent me a later dropping the case. I’m a single mom who busts my butt for my children and too know medical professionals would do something like this absolutely mortified myself I didn’t sleep for weeks over the stress this caused me. I will never step foot on Kettering Hospitals grounds ever again!

Tom Mackey

Not very happy about keeping my 88yr old sick father waiting in the uncomfortable ER bed for 8+ after admitting him. The first round of Doctors and nurses were great, but after 7pm it was a ghost town. We have been waiting one hour 730p to 830p to see the nurse, for Tylenol. This is extremely unprofessional, we should have went to the Miami valley hospital instead. The nurses station said it’s now a norm to wait this long. I would not recommend your family dealing with this hospital.

Lisa Argo

I do not recommend this hospital. The staff on 5 west lost my dad's hearing aid and just act like OH WELL!! My dad's care in sicu was exceptional but once he got to the 5th floor his care dramatically reduced and the staff was rough with my dad and very rude. I will NEVA bring my loved ones here again.

Amy Smith

They're amazing staff took great care of us! We went back for baby number two and were just as pleased!

Rae Renee

Incompetent medical staff! Very unhappy with this experience for my mother. Most of them don't know what they're doing and they just want a paycheck! Now I know Kettering are nothing but con-artists and they need to be publicly recognized for it! My dad just informed me that my mom is being charged $200 per hospital day for a copay! Her government insurance paid most of the bill and she filled out the HCAP form for the remaining balance. My parents are on a set income and run out of money paying them $25 a month! They prey on older people! They claim to be family and non-profit. There is nothing family about their profit-seeking hospital!

Morgan D

They hurt my foot but since I didn't complain about it while I was there they won't look at it without a charge even though it was their fault. They had weights on my legs and I have severely week ankles. DO NOT GO TO ANY FAITH BASED HOSPITALS! They are awful and I have never had a good experience there. Still waiting for hr to call me back because everyone else was incredibly rude! One even hung up on me!

John S

I was treated like a drug seeker. I am not a drug addict. You medical "professionals" really need to get your act together. You spend so much time and money trying to fight the opiate epidemic that your real patients fall by the wayside. You guys are supposed to be doctors, not judges. It's not your job to determine who is a drug seeker and who isn't. Your job is to appropriately treat the patient and ease their symptoms. When are you going to stop letting the government dictate how you treat your patients? Hopefully one day you will all grow a pair of balls and stand up to the DEA and their corrupt policies. I don't really consider our emergency rooms in this country to be real hospitals anymore. You've made me lose all faith in our medical community.

Casey Creager

The best hospital I have ever been to! I've been here multiple times. All of the staff were very kind every visit. Clean and organized.

Lynn Michele D.

Love Kettering MedicalCenter

Lisa W

I took my friend to Kettering a week and a half ago she had been in the hospital for 16days with mrsa got released and her son called me in the middle of the night to tell me she needed to go back when I got to her she couldn't even move had a very high fever laying in a puddle of sweat because we were close to Kettering I chose to drive her being we could get there quick they checked her in asked her 4 times if she was on drugs she was crying and moaning and could barely talk they left her in the waiting area for 2hrs I watched a lady come in walking on her own get checked in sit with her friend in waiting area for 5 mins laughing and gossiping and then got called back while my friend sat in the worst condition I've ever seen she used the bathroom on her self because she couldn't even feel it I went and got a nurse who tryed to move her in the waiting area to put a diaper on her my friend yelped in pain when she grabbed her and next thing I know security comes and tells me I need to keep my friend calm and make her. Quiet down!!!!! I was irate and said look at her she's in pain this man told me.that she's having withdrawals and prolly expreienced a overdose!!!!!! He nor anyone else had even examined her to make a judgment like that then told me she jumped up in the nurses face!!! She couldn't even move to get to the bathroom in time without having a accident yet she jumped in someone's face?? I requested a ambulance so she could be taken to soin the blonde chick checking people in laughed at me so I drove her myself and no sooner did we walk in the took her temp that was 104.8 took her straight to ICU and said the mrsa had spead and she had puss pockets on her lungs had we waited another 30 mins she would be dead!!! Well had we stayed at Kettering she would be dead cause they thought it was "withdraw" my friend is still in the hospital and I'm hoping once she get somewhat better she agrees to speaking with a LAYWER... The blonde girl at the check in seriously sat there chewing gum and playing with her hair with her nose in the air to us this was by far the most unhuman experience I've ever encountered and I keep seeing the same type of things happenimg to.other people.as well! They need to reevaluate the staff I'll.never let one of my loved ones go here

Sean Smiddy

Sliced large portion of skin off end of my R thumb. They did well. That's y we go here. I could've been to Sycamore 15 minutes sooner, and though it was difficult to keep the bleeding under control, I opted to do the extra drive time to Kettering. 9 stitches later all good.

Christina Fielder

I had to take my husband into surgery and had to wait for five hours, being told the surgeons behind. No! No one came to check and see how my husband was. He's starving because you have to fast and I have childcare set up for our son but no one cares or is concerned about their patients and their personal lives. It's already an inconvenient to get everything set up,let alone be treated disrespectful and negglnegl. Just listing to the nurses laughing and talking.

Brad Potter

The only issue I have is once you are admitted from the emergency room to the hospital, you are left in the emergency room for hours, and no one attend to your needs. When I was in pain, the emergency room nurse told me that they had to check with the physician I was assigned to in the hospital. She stated she could no longer care for me. That is unacceptable!

James Wilson

Brought my wife to kettering in eaton been here almost 2 hrs and still have seen a dr yet not impressed

Tanya

I had some blood work done here as well as an MRI,the staff here were friendly , pleasant and helpful. They answered every question I had and even some i would have had later but was too overwhelmed at the moment to think of.

Theresa Esterline

People working there did not seem very friendly. Was not pleased with the service.

Mrs. Jennifer Sowders

8 times out of 10 trip to Kettering for x rays and some friends and family always had a great experience. Only wish that the coffee shop's could stay open longer. Easy to figure your way through the hospital (as long as you follow signes). Keep up the great obedience

Elizabeth Minnich

My mom was on the surgery floor and it took 30-45 minutes and several nurse lights to get her anything. We were constantly waiting for bathroom help, pain relief, help when her moniters would go off, and even just to help get the empty iv and blood bags to stop making the alarm noise or to change them out. Kettering is a beautiful hospital, but they really need faster response times to patients. We understand they have a lot of people to see, but even sending in someone else to help her would have been better than just waiting and watching her suffer more. It was heartbreaking!

Josh Kreitzer

THEE absolute worse hospital to go to, if you are in an emergency situation stay away from this joke of a emergency room. My fiancé was passing out in the waiting room, extremely dehydrated. Not once has anyone said anything to us. I watched multiple people get signed in then get taken back to a room to be serviced. Yet my fiancé is passing out in the waiting room. How does that make sense? TERRIBLE DONT GO HERE IF ITS AN EMERGENCY! We will be headed to South View hospital where we will be taken care of in a timely matter.

Anastasia Christopher

I have had excellent care with every visit. I am a nurse practitioner and I am very concerned and particular about patient care. In the last 8 years Kettering has only given me and my family compassionate, stellar care.

Brook McCall

Absolutely no bed control or remorse for it. I've been waiting in the ER over 6 hours with the same 3 people. This would not be allowed to happen at Good Sam North. Something would have been worked out!

Kathleen Baudendistel

I took my roommate to the ER tonight for stitches (broken glass shower door), and she was discharged after just over an hour with extra gauze and supplies given after request. Record time for any ER, and fantastic care. I wish I could remember her nurse and doctor's names. They were both fabulous. Thank you so much for your Network's superior care!!!

Carol Butler

I had to go in through emergency the day after Christmas and the emergency room had so many people that they had them in the waiting room. When I got in to be seen they kept me overnight for observation fortunately I was just dehydrated. While there I was in the room they sent nurses to my room and wanted my meds that I had brought with me (they don't have some that I take). I didn't want to give them to them because I was afraid that they'd lose them. A few minutes later the nurses came back and brought Security with them to strongarm me in to giving them my meds. I was in there before for my heart attack and they didn't take them they just had me call the nurses when it was time for taking the meds. I have never been so disrespected and humiliated in my life.

I have to say that I am not pleased with kettering health network first of all my mother passed away on August 25th 2017 at 11:12 pm I as the POA was under the impression that the nurse in the ICU calls the funeral home and I was told no different, well as of the Sunday after her the death I called the funeral home who informed me that had not received a call from Grandview hospital it had been over 24 hours later, not good for a grieving family. If we would have been informed that it was up to us to call the funeral home maybe my feelings would have been different but Grandviews dropped the ball and didn't communicate that with us. My second complaint is that I am a single mom with 2 children and have a bill that is $2000 which my income is just above poverty level, well guess what you get no help with bills through kettering unless you don't work and live off the system, so that tells me why should I bust my but and put in a 40+ hour week when I really shouldn't. So you are better off to not work or have personal insurance. I guess at least my taxes go to all the ones who don't have to work for a living. So thank you Kettering health network for all your help I will no longer use your services I will cross the state line and go to Reid Health since they care more about the working people and the grieving families. I was told that Reid was excellent about calling the funeral homes when there is a death and they also give charitable discounts to working people even though they have primary Insurance. Great job Kettering!!!

Judy gillingham

It is not my fault that they didn't ask about my meds. It is not my fault that they didn't think my dog bite inflection was worth their time. If they would of asked they would of found out about my blood thinners and other meds. They had other deaths to deal with and how they treat people a lot more they should of asked me if the dog was sick I would o f tolf them the dog was sick

Jennifer Beck

My mom had to have open heart and she was put in the icu department where i never left her side and the first night and day her 2 nurses were amazing very nice and very sweet not to mention they joked with my mom and explained everything to her even when she was on so many pain meds and couldnt remember somethings when the meds were wearing off they didn't get attitude they just re explained it to her our 2nd night she had a nurse who was nice to my mom but not anything like the 2 before during the day they were having to give her a lot of stuff with sugar to get her sugar level up so i went to the store to buy her a small 3 dollar bag of mixed candy bars the little ones when i got back i was rudely spoke to from this nurse who was not normally on the icu department about how my mom was put on some medicine that made it to where she could not have any of the candy i got her ... I felt like crying no one told us that and all i wanted to do was see my mom smile since she was crying cause she couldn't go home yet not to mention the body wash and shampoo and conditioner i got for her to use since everyone knows most hospitals don't give you enough to actually use or its cheap and dries your body and hair out . i was rudely told she couldnt use it not to mention i ask for a blanket almost hr to hr and hlf before hand i even said when you get time could i please get a blanket i was told sure . I've hardly slept worried bout my mom n on our 3rd night i was tired and getting cranky since i find it to be almost 3 am when i finally ask the first nurse if she could get me a blanket and why i asked her and not my moms new nurse she was so sweet enough to not only get me 2 but she came in and talked to me about what was wrong and listened to why i didnt care for moms new nurse she said she was sry our family was goin through this and would address it to her bosses .. Then we saw the rude nurse sit down right infront of our room at the nurses station as if she was trying to see and hear why moms first nurse was in moms room talkin to me Melissa was a great nurse and made my mom happy and talked to us she really treats her patients and their families like humans and families great nurse extremely great person Then there was Blake who also was a great nurse thank you to both who treat people and patients like people not a paycheck ... Then there was Amy the rude inconsiderate one who treated us like we did nothing right and allowed us to see we were a paycheck to her not a family who was scared and worried about our loved one my mother who went through the surgery less than 48 hrs before and was bleeding and had already had blood gave to her we are not just a paycheck we are a scared and very worried family and my suggestion to this rude cruel woman is if you only see your patients as a check get out of the business families want to feel understood and heard and definitely what is goin on with their loved ones and if you can't respect that you have the wrong job we are humans n we have hearts and we should know everything that is goin on with our loved ones especially when we haven't left they side at that hospital so have some respect how would you feel if it was your mom and someone treated her like you did us ..... Its wrong have a heart and wake up we are more than your paycheck .........

Kathy Young

I was admitted to Kettering Hospital for almost a week on 2 w. This hospital did an excellent job of putting together staff that not only work well together but provide excellent care to their patients. I did 3 daisy awards during my stay. But frankly they all deserve the highest acknowledgment. Thank you all for your care.BUT good luck with some of your Doctors boarding on "GOD Complexes". 1) never tell a patient " theres no way your in that much pain." Only GOD almighty can gauge someones pain and remember the training you recieved when educated that every patient feels pain and discomfort differently!!!! 2) Just because you read a book on the subject, unless you have physically experienced what you are treating for you should not try to pass off that you understand what the pt is feeling. 3) Not ALL patients are drug seeking. It is such a shame that drugs made to treat actual pain is now unavailble to the ones in "REAL" need of pain relief. I had to throw a fit to get relief and i am NOT a drug addict, you saw on labs at admit i was drug free. I am still inhouse and should be able to get something to offset the misery i have been in and put thru this week. Thank you to administrations for taking the time to come talk to me on a Sunday. Not only did she actively listen to my complaints she personally fixed me a prune drink to help things get moving. Some of these problems can be extremely painful and she was a GODSEND not like the treating DR with a complex. I doubt I will be sent home with anything for relief although i am still having problems that i have been treated for inhouse. There should be an amount limit to ensure pt comfort post discharge. With all that said if in the future i need medical attention i would drive pass all other hospitals to return here. Congrats on your staffing. Thank you for the care i received from your staff.
