Some ten+ years later and Cherry is now still one of my traumas in a 30year battle with c-ptsd. I left far more broken, drugged to the gills, dysfunctional than at any point in my life. It was horrid! Violent, neglect, hunger, incarceration(never b4 or since), saw MD once a week. My family literally had to 'go legal' to have me released after 30days. 30 before a visit was allowed. We sued, successfully. Gross neglect, malfeasance, malpractice.

I went to the old hospital when I was 17. I’m now 20 and I still have nightmares about my experience there. That old place is haunted, and so hectic. I went there because I was going through depression due to loss of multiple people in my life, and just had a lot going on. I thought suicide was the way out. (I’ve now recovered from that, so I’m actually doing a lot better now.) Anyways, I would see black shadows in the room that I was placed in, I would hear things in those little closets, I’d here giggling coming from the other side of the room although I was in there ALONE. I tried telling the staff there, nobody believed me, they thought I was crazy. No I wasn’t on any medication, I’ve never done drugs nor anything like that, the only thing I’ve been diagnosed with is bipolar & severe depression. Other people there would freak me out because, they actually had something wrong with them. They would talk to themselves, have mental breakdowns at random times, talk to things that didn’t even exist .. it was scary. I’d say more but, it’s too much to say. That place was just an horrific experience in my life. Those in there or going soon, may the luck be with you.

Well I've only been in the old cherry hospital and it was pretty bad. I hope I don't have to go to the new one but I am sure it is better than the old one. There are some really sick and violent people so if you do go there and you are white be careful and watch your back

I had hope when they took my daughter in but one week in and they started pushing me out of contact with her. They're rude and the most un-understanding place. They have cause me stress, i feel my daughter is very unsafe here. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if this place is suggested to you for your child run the other way. They're only out for money not to help. They're heartless and a very careless place. They've made my child feel worse about herself and have only cause more harm.

The staff was very nice to me and my daughter. She loved being there and wouldn't trade them for nothing.

I went to the new one in 2017 was in oak the acute for teens. The food was awful if u wanted a replace meant and it was a burger some times it had no buns they kept serving same stuff. Staff was rude and loud durning the night when we where sleeping.

31 years ago I was put in this place. Today I suffer from not being able to remember. Long and short term loss. I don't know how to get help for this. I fear all people.. It is hard to focus at work and be properly attentive to my family. Remembering being in this place is a constant night mare to me. I constantly wake up feeling like i am having my brain tourtured from what ever was done to me. I was only 8.
