Beware BCBS holders! I used Radiology services through Park Ridge and was slapped with an extravagant bill (over $600 worth), on top of the several hundred BCBS paid. Know that you will be charged a separate Radiologist fee. I had the same procedure done 2 weeks later, in house, at a specialist's office, and only had to pay my copay. I want to love Park Ridge's Christian stance. I want to love that they are hometown hospital-but this has left such a bitter taste in my mouth. I find that price charge utterly extravagant. I work as an RN and in my work have the opportunity to share my experience with patients-happily dissuading several already to seek tests elsewhere. I was not warned, so doing my best to warn as many as possible, as I wish I had been. There should be no reason that there should be such a large price difference for equal testing. Beware and shop around.

Stupid, careless and thoughtless mistakes are made in the ER, even during unusual quiet times w/o serious emergencies going on. Without failure, every single badly needed trip to ER is a disaster with several near fatal conditions. AVOID THIS ER. Floor nurses are rude. One young nurse actually barked at my husband at 2am that he woke her/other nurses up because he needed assistance in getting unattached from IV lines, etc and into the bathroom. The next day, I walk in, look at urine bag and see a tiny orange (blood and urine) line in the bag, meaning to fluids creating urine. One of the nurses removed his IV fluid bag and antibiotics bag without drs instructions and only 16 hours post prostate cancer surgery. I had nurse call the doctor and ask for IV fluids and antibiotics to be replaced and, as expected, the dr was furious the bags had been removed without his permission. Nurse payback yo my poor husband for daring to need assistance at 2am to get to bathroom in the dark while heavily sedated and tied down to bed. Rude nurses and basically stupid. Hospital floors were mostly empty so nurses not running around exhausted and over extended. My five day hospital stay for almost complete GI obstruction was bad from ER entry with 3 rednecks at front desk eye rolled when I walked in hunched in pain, vomiting and had to tell them I wasn't there for narcotics (I vomit immediately from both IV and oral narcotics). Took moron ER dr over 3 hours to diagnose obstruction after having very fast MRI with contrast. No idea why she waited to admit ne but 3 nurses apologized for the wait (they were tattling on her for incompetence). Finally get to room (empty hallways) and 6 hours later finally get stomach bile pumped out. Rude nurses and didn't give me my medications or bother to see if I was alive or dead. I didn't ask for anything and even emptied my own bile container in toilet. Broken TV was least of issues. Lack of any interest by drs or nurses and I could have been dead/rigor daily for many hours. Patients are a pain in butt to nurses so expect to be ignored and demeaned. Outpatient testing is good. Efficient and pleasant staff and nurses. No idea why the stark difference between the ER, floor and outpatient testing. Watch yourself and whomever is admitted to the hospital. Ridiculous to outright deadly mistakes are made and only caught by patient or family paying strict attention and aware of situations. Use Emergency Room only if you can't get to Mission in Asheville. Do not move to Western North Carolina if you need Any medical care at all. Pardee, Park Ridge, and Mission ,(Asheville) are all dreadful with redneck nurses and incompetent doctors. I was in the mental health facility and I was treated with great respect and concern.

My wife keeps getting bills from NACS, because of Park Ridge. Anybody having that kind of problem? They say that her account is past due and has been turned in to collections, and we never got a bill from them accept for the one she is paying now for the surgery she had done in December. Next step is going to be calling the BBB and getting a Lawyer.

I previously had a horrible experience with anestia at the hospital in which i was left with a needle sticking out of my back for 5 minutes while the anesthesiologist took a personal call in the hallway, I was in labor at the time and the nurse in the room kept apologizing that this wasn't normal and he wasn't doing his job properly. I stupidly decided to go back to park ridge 2 years later and was set up with an appointment to meet with the anesthesiologist due to my horrible previous experience. When i arrived there i was taken to 3 different places within the hospital no one seemed to know what was going on or where I needed to be . After about an hour of being shuffled around I finally met with Dr. Hopper , the anesthesiologist. He walked into the room had no idea who I was didn't know my name and at one point asked me if I had my chart with me. I'm sorry I'm the patient he is the "proffesional" and he appeared to have no clue as to why I was there asking me for my chart like I worked there. I already had my doubts about this man but when we discussed my previous experience and he had enough nerve to roll his eyes at me and explain that sometimes they have to answer there phone I realized I wouldn't trust this man with my health , nor would I trust a hospital that would hire such rude employees. I can honestly say I have never met someone as unprofessional as this man. I went some where else and never plan on going back there.

Denied treatment on suspicion of drug seeking behavior. I have cancer and am in constant moderate to severe pain. Condescending and childish er Doctor. There are good reviews here also, so I guess it's luck of the draw if you go to the ER.

Don't waste your time with this establishment. The billing department is in complete disarray. They've falsely turned me over to collections twice and I've heard rumor that other people in the community have had issue with similar circumstances. Place is a joke.

I've had nothing BUT amazing interactions with everyone I've encountered at Park Ridge Health, starting in 2009 when I had my daughter at the Baby Place. Dr. Denise Ingram is my current provider at Park Ridge Health South Asheville, and is by far the most attentive, thorough physician I've ever seen. Highly recommend any of their offices for healthcare.

Melia Austin

Actual doctor was nice. Other staff was disengaged and rude. Checked in at 9:40 was finally told at 2:40 they would get things wrapped up. Sat in the room over and additonal hour to get discharged they talk unprofessionally the whole time at the desk. They called me dramatic because I opened my curtain to remind them to check me out.

Park Ridge Health paid a criminal fine of $118.7 MILLION for massive criminal fraud and kickbacks that endangered patients' lives. Park Ridge Health stole money from Medicare and Medicaid yet none of the many criminals there who broke the law was even arrested. Many of the law breakers there were the doctors. Google it.

Melissa Chandler

Great service by nurses and staff. I had to stay 5 days after having surgery and everyone was wonderful. Very considerate. Would definitely recommend and would go there again.

I took my daughter to the ER on day 2 of her having type b flu. She had developed a rash over the course of thirty minutes after taking the tamiflu that the urgent Care PA had prescribed her. The kind ER doctor was honest with me and told me that in his professional opinion Tamiflu was useless. The side effects don't outweigh the possible benefits of losing half a day of flu symptoms. He suggested we take her off of it. We took her home, she threw up and had diarrhea all day until 6pm when the tamiflu wore off. After that she didn't even have a FEVER. And to think if that doctor hadn't informed me about the medicine my three year old daughter was taking she would've suffered much longer for absolutely no reason. I don't even remember that doctor's name but a million thank you's and blessings to him!

Worst ER visit I have ever had EMS tried to talk me into going to Pardee. Brought in on a back board and got no X-ray Dr basically looks me over and determine I am not perolised and sends me on my way only for me to go days later to pardee to find out I had a More sever injury. If you have anything worse than hang nail go to a different hospital. They are in midst of Government fines and law suits so they are cutting and when hospital cut you suffer.

El Rondo

Park Ridge Health is a criminal enterprise that was fined $115 million dollars for all manner of criminal medical fraud. None of the many doctors involved were arrested or even fired. They should have lost their medical licences but that didn't happen either. Avoid this money mill because all you are to them is a cash cow.

Terrible experience 3 different times. 1st time i took my son there for an allergic reaction from several bee stings , it was his first time ever being stung.....i first took him to urgent care in fletcher and they Sent him straight to the hospital. They didnt do a thing for my son , they said he was fine and sent him home. As we were driving home my son stopped breathing in the back seat. I called 911 and an ambulance rushed him to mission. His eyes were swollen shut his mouth and tounge were swollen, it was very scary watching my child turn blue and stop breathing...and my son couldn't talk to me to tell me he couldn't breath because he is autistic and his speech is very little. Thank god mission hospital helped my son live and thankyou to the ems guys....they were in shock when i told them that park ridge had sent him home.....now the second time... i took my 18 month old daughter there for 105 temperature and vomiting and breathing very fast.... doctor never tested her for anything and took a guess that she may have strep throat....sent her home with an antibiotic and cough medicine with codine....come to find out she is wayyyyyy to young to have cough medicine with codine in it.... i took her to her doctor the very next morning and she tested negitive for strep throat but positive for RSV , she had phnomna in her left lung and a right ear infection but yet hours before that the er doctor didnt pick up on any of it...just took a wild guess and sent us on our way.....my daughters oxygen was low her feet were a bluish tent at the doctors office. They were in shock that the er didnt do anything for her. No tests no nothing...just sent her home with medicine she cant even take....she had to get a breathing machine so she could get breathing treatments every 4 hours.....kinda scary that they did this twice with 2 different children.....oh yeah when i was in labor and told the hospital that my water was broke...they sent me home and said your water is not broke, you might had peed on yourself....are you freaking kindding me.....so 7 days goes by and i still leaking clear fluid. ...i go back to the hospital and they say no its not your water.....my obgyn shows up 2 hours later and says lets do an ultrasound. .... sure enough no water....my water had been broke for a week.....i was rushed to mission and gave birth to my baby girl at 30 weeks.....she had lung issues and developed a lung infection from where my water had been broken for so long......all they had todo was an ultrasound to check on things unstead of telling me i was freakin pissing on myself....i mean really, come on now. I could have gotten steriod shots to help my daughter's lungs....but no...no one would listen to me and my daughter was born with 2 collapsed lungs and they had a hole in one of them ..... we xould of possibly preventes that if they would have just listened to me....that was my 4th child...i knew something wasnt right but since im not a nurse or doctor i guess i didn't know what the hell i was talking about..... dont go here. Dont waste your time........ oh and they told my father in law that he wasnt sick and he needed to stop coming to the er.....6 months later my father in law passed away. .... please be aware. ...and if you call to make a complaint they dont care....they will listen to you tell thwm what happened and tell you well we will have a talk with the doctors and nurses. ....they even hung up on my husband when he called about our son when he almost died....misson hospital nurse was in the room when they hung up on him....her mouth almost hit the floor....she felt so bad we were treated like that.... please beware if you go here

Gilliam Family

Here now with my 7 year old been in this room for over an hour and nobody has been in to see her this is terrible what's the point of an emergency room and no nurse or doctor or anyone is using a sentence urgency this is my second and last time coming here we are about to walkout and go to mission or urgent care at least they check on you this is awful

Chibi Cheesecakes

The bad reviews here make me a little nervous, but I've only ever had good experiences with this hospital. I visited twice, both were emergency visits and I was seen within no more than 20 minutes tops. They were able to help me immediately. Not only were the doctors and nurses very well-informed, but they didn't hesitate to give me medicine on both occasions to help my symptoms - stomach pain and some major abscessed tooth pain respectively. That's something that Pardee would never have done. I felt so cared for by them. I wish I could remember/find the names of the doctors and nurses who helped me to give them the credit they deserve. They were all lovely ladies who genuinely wanted to help me feel better.

We took an ambulance to the hospital with my 83 year old mom Easter 2019 evening (6:00) and were greeted by fast, caring and thorough service. Quick and accurate diagnosis with effective treatment protocol. My mom barely had time to be angry that she was in the hospital as we were out by 10pm. This is amazing compared to some other hospitals in the area. Thank you Park Ridge Hospital!

I have had consistently fabulous service at AdventHealth. Everyone I've encountered is pleasant and helpful. I really love that they frequently ask if you have a something that brings you joy in your life. Mental health is vital, too, and I'm so glad AdventHealth understands that.

I have visited AdventHealth hospital or an affiliated office a few times. Every visit and/or the scheduling has been very easy. Highly recommend!

I went to the ER late night after cutting my hand while camping with friends. When the cut first happened, I barely felt it, but it was bleeding a lot. I put immediately put a good deal of pressure on it with my other hand, and we went to first aid. They bandaged it up, and said I would need stitches. I asked if they could do it on site because I trusted the medical staff on hand as they were trained, and I was reluctant to go to hospital. I had been drinking and felt the sooner it could be taken care of the better. However they couldn't do it and sent me to the ER. When we got to Park Ridge, we were sitting there for about 4 hours before being seen. During that time, the alcohol started wearing off, I was dehydrated, no food, and it was getting to be early morning. There was no access to drinking water, except from the vending machine, and I didn't have any cash on me. When the nurse got around to seeing me, it had been several hours, and she started to remove my bandages without any consideration to the injury. I was later told that it is common courtesy to wet a persons bandages to remove. When I gasped, and asked her if I could remove the bandages myself she rolled her eyes at me, and told me I was being difficult. I carefully removed the bandages and she took a look. When the Dr came in, it was obvious he had came from a traumatic situation, and was still processing. When he went to stitch me up, I asked for a moment to get ready, and I flinched and gasp when he was aggressive and uncaring with his movements. He left the room he was so upset, and made me wait an additional hour to receive care. When he came back in, him and the nurse berated me, belittle me and spoke down to me. They said I obviously never dealt with an injury before. I must of had a good life to never deal with pain before. I need to buck up, and deal with life, that the real world is different. They said I was lucky for whomever bandaged me up and stopped the bleeding could of saved my life. I was the one who applied pressure to my injury to stop the bleeding. ME. The nurse diagnosed me with a smoking disorder., and now this is in my medical history. She assumed that I needed a cigarette. Well, I don't smoke cigarettes. I have a healthy and dedicated yoga practice. I eat healthy, work out. If she was able to do her job, and properly diagnosed, she would of noticed that I was hungover and dehydrated. WHICH I TOLD HER, and that I need water. I never got any water. Also too, their accusations were highly offensive to me, and really, really off base. The last time I was in the hospital getting stitches on my other hand, was when my father tried to kill me with shards of broken mirror. I have a traumatic brain injury from childhood from being knocked upside the head so many times, that it caused permanent speech and language issues. I have had a tooth knocked out by my father. i have been thrown down stairs, dragged by my hair, hair pulled out. I gave birth to a child while dealing with preclampsia, and stayed natural to the very end. I was in control of my birth and squated my baby out. I've dealt with pain. I've dealt with life. I have PTSD from a lifetime of poly trauma of domestic violence. I have very little faith in a dr and nurse who pick up on someone trauma, and shames them for it, misdiagnoses them for it, dont even see they are doing it. I was very compliant and agreeable for them. For everyone else during that night, I showed a lot of courage, control, and ability to stay calm in situations. I didn't even feel the cut. It was more traumatic going to the ER than the actual injury. I really wish I could of just been stiched up at the campsite. I feel they had better understanding and better ability for care. They were really out of line. I feel that they had just dealt with a trauma, a really bad trauma, where maybe they were able to help someone. I'm sure my tiny little cut with four stitches was nothing. It was nothing. Maybe that dr and nurse needed a break to recover. But I shouldn't be their punching bag

Went to er after car crash today mind you i was the passenger not a driver so nothing was my fault ... I was in neck brace my kids were being checked out too and were in my room.... The nurse had long brown braided hair was getting an attitude with me because i couldnt keep my 2 year old still on the bed when she was in there.... They had side bed rail up so i couldnt swing my legs over to get her.... Needless to say i am going to be making phone calls.... I recommend this hospital but not that nurse!

David Rollins has no business practicing medicine. Check his heathgrades dot com profile for more information and my review of him. He clearly doesn't know what he is doing. My wife and I have had multiple experiences that are so bad that we are actively telling everyone we know to just to go to Mission. Out of the last 4 times we've visited Park Ridge hospital between me, my wife and my kids, we left with 0 correct (or even close) diagnoses, 0 instances of feeling better, 3 instances of incorrect billing, and 4 instances of pure frustration. Never again.

I have been a patient in the ER 3 times. Took my husband there last night. It was around 6am when we were leaving and were treated very cold and rude by the exit staff.

Avoid a waste of time and money go somewhere else. Nurses nice and polite but overworked. The Dr. I saw, ineffective and indifferent, went in with abdominal problems left with abdominal problems with no clue as to what problem was. Also as far as I can tell Dr. told me a black lie. Do not go to this facility. Cannot recommend Pardee either, perhaps Mission. At least I'll get to vent my frustrations when they send me my Medicare survey.

Between Mission and Park Ridge, I prefer Park Ridge... which says a lot more about Mission. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly: For basic emergency care, it's not bad if you're willing or able to wait an hour due to the facility being constantly over capacity as a result of the unexpected growth of the area. Plus, at least the doctors aren't known for doing stupid things to their patients like the ones at Mission are. As such, Park Ridge does the job it needs to do but nothing more. If you need to have any sort of procedure done, however, DO NOT COME HERE! The doctors are very bad at communicating and tend to talk AT their patients rather than with them. As a result, I HIGHLY insist on looking outside of the Asheville area, as the local healthcare network is terrible and backwards overall. Like I said, Park Ridge is better than Mission, but that says a LOT more about Mission than it does Park Ridge. Now for the ugly. In 2015, there was a scandal where a number of doctors were purchasing luxury items on hospital money, including but not limited to a Ford Mustang GT350. Luckily, things have cleared up with that, and it's still not as bad as the numerous cases of malpractice at Mission. So, overall, Park Ridge does the job a hospital needs to do, but not very well, which is an unfortunate surprise from an Adventist Healthcare Network hospital.

I ent to the er yesterday afternoon, and had the worst experience I've ever had at an er. I saw the PA Terri, and she had no idea what she was doing. I have a rare lung disrder and I went in with shortness of breath and chest pain. I even brought in a chest ct with contrast I had the day before. And she dint have enough sense to even look at it. As she was asking about my past medical history, there were several things that that she didn't even know what they were. So after being there 3 hours she comes back and tells me that they have done everything that could be done for my shortness of breath and chest pain and that this was an emergency room and wanted to recommend a local pulmonary dr. But I guess she didn't listen to anything I said. I now have to go to Emory university to be seen by infectious disease specialists and also pulmonary. So now I am at emory university Midtown hopital admitted. I was in impending respiratory failure. So if you ever have a PA Terri, please, please, ask to see the actual medical doctor. She is going to end up killing someone because 1. She doesn't listen to the patient, 2. She she isn't very knowledgeable or even capable of knowing what to do. The hospital made a huge mistake and took on a h uge liability by hiring her which is so sad. All my other visits to this er have been nothing but the best I could ask for. But PA Terri with end up killing someone soon because of her lack of knowledge and arrogant bedside manner Thanks Terri for your stupidity which landed me admitted to a hospital. Park Ridge, please ,please, get rid of this huge liability.

Elma is wonderful. Went in with an abscess tooth. She took one look at me and knew exactly what to do. Unfortunately I had to return the next day as the infection just got too bad and the antibiotics didnt work. She gave me a shot and additional pain meds to get me through until the next day. She never once treated me like a drug seeker or treated me badly. Things have got so bad now that you cant walk into an er and get the medication you need bc of drug seekers. Only reason I gave 4 stars was for the kinda crappy guy nurse that checked me in/out. He should not be a nurse. Not compassionate at all. He was tall. Kind of old and wore Jordan's. I loved Elma though.

Don't plan on getting out of bed for exercise if you are elderly. I am an 84 year old lady, I was there two days and not once was offered help gettting out of bed to walk. Just asking for a blood clot. Do not plan on ever going back again. Will go to Mission from now on. Would have gave o stars but it is not an option.

I was so nervous before my surgery I couldn't even eat for two days. From the time I walked up to the front door I was taken care of with kindness and efficiency. I couldn't have asked for better service. They treat you like a real person. That means a lot to me. I was a family member not a customer. Seeing how nervous I was everyone was wonderful. I will tell everyone what a wonderful caring experience I had at this hospital. The people were all amazing.

Mackenzie Wicker

Actual care is fine. Billing department and front desk people don't have a clue. Both my boyfriend and I went here regularly for completely unrelated things and paid our co-pays and co-insurance at the time of our appointments. Later, we received inexplicable bills for large sums of money and no one in the billing department could explain why. We have different insurance providers, so it's not the provider. It's definitely park ridge. Their system either calculates incorrect co-pays or their relationship with insurance lacks communication. And no one who works there cares enough or knows enough to investigate the problem. Save yourself some trouble and go somewhere else.

David Wilkie

A trip for my wife to the emergency room was a joke here at Park Ridge. She couldn't walk, and no one offered to help her. They just sat behind the window, showing no concern, mocking and whispering. I do not recommend. The time was 0448, and they were not busy.

TheRealHawk115

We ended up walking out. The staff was more concerned with flirting and gossiping than doing their actual jobs. Then when you do finally see or speak with anyone they act as if you're a huge inconvenience. The doctor we had was very condescending and talked down to people, I'd never waste another minute talking with him.

Last year (2013) I had to have 2 surgeries with in a 2 month period. Each visit was great. The doctors and staff were exceptional. The facility was clean from the lobby to the patient rooms. And I received amazing care from the check in to the valet parking attendants. I have read some of the other reviews on here, and understand that every facility is not perfect all the time. In the past have been at the hospital in Asheville and it was expensive as well. It is just what health care has come to, unfortunately. The care and compassion at Park Ridge Health was very genuine. I would not hesitate going back to this hospital for myself or my family.

Tiffany Grzankowski

Went 6 weeks ago for severe pain and visually something wasn't right with my shoulder. I have osteogenisisimperfecta they took 2 x-rays and I never spoke to anybody till they handed me discharge papers..no sling no nothing. turns out my collarbone was broke..if it doesn't heal right let's just say I won't be just letting this go. I went back about 3 weeks later in excruciating pain and was told they wouldn't do another x-ray and I needed to just wait see my doctor but I could wait to speak to someone and they would tell me the same thing. My collarbone was protruding. Absolutely ridiculous.

Sue St

Their main concern is money not health, if you need good health care, don’t go there. I am surprised they have not been shut down and the billing department is a joke, and the right hand and the left hand are not even on the same body

My wife had hand surgery there several weeks ago. In pre-op., the RN, CRNA, Anesthesiologist, and PA all identified the wrong limb for surgery! Three identified the wrong hand and one identified a leg! The Anesthesiologist laughed it off as a joke and only after I blew a "gasket" did he actually read the chart! I have written 2 notes, one to hospital and other to their customer satisfaction survey company. To date I have not been contacted by anyone. Will never go back for anything.

Very professional I was pretty out of it due to meds! But they treated my mom excellent! Was there for brain surgery with Dr Rosner. It went great and would recommend anyone!

I had to have orthopedic surgery at PRH due to the feud between BCBS and and another local hospital system. This turned out to be a great blessing because PRH was much smaller and less crowded than the other hospital usually is. This meant quicker, more personal care and less stress for me. From the first person I encountered - the lady at the main entrance check-in - to the last nurse to care for me post-op, I recall having ten different people care for and interact with me. Each of them was kind, sociable, knowledgeable, and informative. After letting them know about my last surgical experience which left me waking up in lots of pain and very nauseated, the anesthesiologist and CRNA took extra steps to ensure my pain was managed well without making me nauseated. I could go on, but suffice it to say it was a very good experience for me and my wife, who is a an experienced RN.

jason hart

Went in with burns on my hands and face. They were absolutely great to me. I have problems with pain meds that make it hard for me to take them. Instead of getting frustrated like most places I have been they used other way to lower my pain. They treated me and my family as if we had known each other for a long time. Truely a caring and personable staff. This has been my experience with them several times. When my daughter was born they were the same way in the baby wing.

Lillian Modak

Park Ridge staff were kind, attentive and took excellent care of me during my stay. They made a bad situation better. I always feel sick from anesthesia but the anesthesiologist made a special effort to calm my fears. He told me what he what he would use would not make me sick and he was right! Great job!

I had a spinal surgery at Parkridge for the secon time. My doctor is top notch and makes sure that everything is perfect. But I got moldy food to eat and I was so out of it I almost ate it. That kind of made me sick to my stomach when I was already in pain I called the hospital to let them know when I got home and was feeling better. Otherwise the nurses and staff were great.

I have been seeing a doctor who was associated with advent health care for years. My doctor left for a while the other drs.Ive seen have really screwed up my meds to where I don’t sleep at night.my personal opinion is they are acting like they are God.They even called me and ask me about changing my meds and I told them no but it was done anyway.Ive heard people say they were going to leave park ridge and their drs.said they were going to far with their meds and services.

Please go somewhere else anywhere... Pardee perhaps...they've called 6 people at least that came after I brought my daughter in severe pain. When I asked about it they said it's not based on who got here first. My daughter had been crying I pain for hours the others not at all so you tell me how that's fair??? This is the worst hospital I've been to. NEVER AGAIN!!! They don't care if you're dying in the waiting room...again go to any other hospital or live to regret it.

This hospital is filled with extremely professional and caring staff around every corner. I was just discharged after being treated for a UTI and 2 very large ovarian cysts in the ER. I was there for 7 hours. Everyone was amazing, but Dr. Ingrid stood out in particular to me. She made me feel very comfortable and welcome, and made great conversation while answering all my questions with great detail. Paramedic Larry also put a smile on my face :) Will be back again for future emergencies if I do have the misfortune of them occurring!

Great service to the community. I really recommend this hospital to anyone in need. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

My mother has been in the emergency room several times over the years at Park Ridge and they are wonderful. Compared to Mission it is night and day. If you are not having a cardiac episode go to Park Ridge. At mission they left her in a hallway all night when she had a gale bladder attack. At Park Ridge they get her into a room very quickly. There is never a wait in the emergency space. Beautiful and cheerful rooms.

My girlfriend was feinting 4-5 times a day and her GP told her to go to the ER immediately. Sure enough she goes down while we were sitting in the waiting room. A a small blonde nurse comes out with a wheelchair and first thing out of her mouth is “I don’t want to hurt my back getting you in this so stop faking”. I went ahead and got her in the wheelchair...a few minutes later my girlfriend comes to and the nurse doubles down on the insults. Girlfriend starts crying and says “why would you speak to anyone this way??”. Nurse proceeds to call security, we got kicked out. We’re over at the Mission ER now. Damn that woman to hell.

As far as the care went everything was great! I set up a payment plan and then six months later was turned over to collections. I made my payments every month on time. Park Ridge confirmed that they had received them. What they didn't tell me was the debt was to be paid in a year or it would be sent to collections at the 6 month mark. They say it will not effect my credit but I would have preferred to have been told this up front then I could have made those arrangements from the beginning. Or at least contacted by Park Ridge before being turned over to collections. After all, I did enter into a contract with for my medical needs with a credit collections agency! Very dissatisfied with the way this was handled.

The doctor didnt give me an answer to what is wrong with my son. Said that he had been bitten or was a viral rash or allergic reaction and then I asked her if it was bites then why is it spreading here at the hospital do y'all have bugs? Then after saying she definitely don't think that it's viral she ends up saying it's viral then gives my son Benadryl as if it's an allergic reaction but he didn't have anything new yesterday that he hasn't already had and it's still spreading today almost as if they're welts but they're huge flat red spots all over his body and then some of them are kind of like little bumps like skin color so I got to leave the hospital not knowing what's wrong with my child but was told if I had any more questions I could go back and if it worsens I could go back my point is I asked them to do testing I asked them to do multiple things I asked them all my questions and I still did not get no answer to what is wrong with my child and she did not seem too interested to care I drove 40 minutes for nothing doctors nowadays seem to be not worth a damn

The nurses and doctors are nice. But even though they make it SUPER easy to pay your bill, it's almost impossible to access the test results that they want you to pay for.

Very very friendly staff. But one of the ER nurses (male) did not practice good sanitation cautions, by opening sterile bandages with his teeth. I disagreed with their decision to release my elderly neighbor after a bad fall. It was late at night, his head wound was bleeding a lot, he was vomiting, his back was hurting a lot, and he was confused. He also lives alone. The admitting doctor refused to allow him to be kept overnight for observation since his CT scan was clear. My neighbor had a very bad fall earlier this year, and they tried to release him home then too! But he ended up needing intense rehab, pt and skilled nursing for over a month! We were there 5 hours to get that “diagnosis.” I didn’t see any other patients in the ER. My assessment: everything there looks beautiful on the outside. Clean place, smiling and friendly staff, ER was a ghost town. But it’s not the real story.

Cheryl Weeks

My mamagram appointment went well and the tech was great. My problem was that after that I had to wait 2 hours for a bone density test. Why did the tech not just go ahead and take me. I had to watch about 6 other people come in wait maybe 15 mins and then be taken back all while I was still waiting. If its a simple process, than they could have put me in the mix and no one would have had to wait 2 hours. I guess my time is not as valuable.

Brian Miller

If you got the ER be prepared to PAY$$$$ because they will double down on the charges. Sprained ankle w/ X rays cost $1,118.75 but wait then I received a bill from the MD for another $492.00. I called and was told my ER visit was a Level 3…again for a sprained ankle but wait the MD billed me at a Level 4. So the way it works, Park Ridge will bill you up as many levels as they can but not many to avoid and scrutiny from Managed Care Organizations and then the MD’s bill you one level above what the ER does. PR should be ashamed and on top of the bill “Extending the healing ministry of Christ”…damn that was expensive. Pharmacy = $6.77 Medical Supplies = $77.77 Radiology = $502.65 Emergency Center Services $ = $531.56 Phoenix ER Group = $ 492.00

John Bergin

Friendly and competent.

OO- f.

This is an absolutely terrible establishment, and I honestly have no idea how they've made it this far. We've had countless problems with the staff with my grandparents, and anyone that I come in contact with that needs medical care I will make it clear that Park Ridge should be the absolute last option.

I will never EVER see a physician affiliated with this hospital in order to avoid ever having to be scheduled for any test at AdventHealth. I have lived in this area for over 6 years now, and most of the physicians I have used were affiliated with this hospital. The most recent disappointment I have faced dealing with this facility involved having an ultrasound of my liver, and being told it was normal. I was scheduled to go to the Mayo Clinic in Florida just 5 weeks later, and when I went, they also performed the same ultrasound of the liver. It was NOT normal. I have all of my bills paid and am never late with them, but it did NOT feel right to pay for something that I know could not have been accurate. I called the hospital and talked with Cami (not sure of spelling) who oversees complaints about billing, and explained my disappointments. She said she would have a second reading of the ultrasound, and he agreed with the first reading. I am not stupid. I have had elevated liver enzymes for over 9 years, and there is no way they were accurate in either performing or reading the ultrasound. So after politely being told they couldn't be wrong, and I still owed for the bill, I hung up, paid the bill, and am now alerting everyone with my concerns with this facility. This is not the first case of "bad judgment" I have endured at this hospital. I was referred to a rheumatologist who mentioned THREE times, "Make sure your primary care doctor gets a scan of your thyroid, it doesn't feel normal." I told me doctor (who was affiliated with Park Ridge) and she ordered the scan. I went to have the scan, and after paying over $800 up front for my part of the bill due, I was taken back to have the scan. The employee asked me to sit down at the lab station while she got prepared. I asked what she was planning to do, and she informed me I was about to get my iv started for the dye. I refused and told her I had discussed this with the referring PA, and because I had idiopathic anaphylaxis, she had agreed it might not be safe to get the dye. The employee went to investigate and came back and claimed the PA had sent in 2 different orders for the test, one with contrast, one without. Bad mistake on their part, had I not been aware. Shortly after this, I saw a highly rated endocrinologist NOT AFFILIATED with this group, and he felt of my neck and told me, "I have no idea why a cat-scan was ordered on your thyroid, it feels completely normal, and I could have saved you the money on that test if you would have come here." Another time, I went to the ER with a possible UTI. The lady physician on call ordered a shot of a very strong antibiotic. They had my allergies to meds on file. She told me what the medication was, so while she went to get it ready for the nurse to administer, I researched the medication and was SHOCKED to find you should not take it if you are allergic to penicillin or K-Flex. It is on their records, I have reacted to both. I REFUSED the shot. Then when I got my bill, it was discovered I was charged for a pregnancy test. It was also on my record I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 32 years old. I called and asked why I was charged for that, and they said that was kind of routine, but they would remove it. I realize this is a long review, but I will stop here, although I could explain even more "mess ups" in detail. In closing, I truly feel, physicians in this network refer you to others in this network and order tests not necessary just to make money. The last two events that occurred in my review could have caused my body distress if not worse. I will never, ever go to this facility or a physician associated with them ever again. My experiences with them has proven, they seem incompetent of performing tests accurately or billing for tests accurately, and when they are called out on their mistakes, they never own up to it, and you are left being expected to pay for whatever they say you owe.

Lots of miscommunication here. Asked the doctor for the results, and his reply was, "I don't know. I didn't look", and turns and walks away. No goodbye, nothing. Unprofessional. Won't be back. Mission always treated us well.

Even though I had a bad migraine & waited 6 hours in the ER, they gave me a blanket to lie down with, brought my husband a recliner into the room, and thoughtfully turned out the lights when not needed. I don't even have a bruise from the IV! Thank you Park Ridge Staff, you are angels :)

Fast enough for us about 30 minutes waiting in waiting room then about 2 to 3 hours in er

My daughter was scheduled to have an out patient procedure at Park Ridge. We had only ever been to Mission Health and was worried about having to switch hospitals ( due to the Blue Cross Blue Shield problem) but was pleasantly surprised . From the time we arrived until the time we left she received excellent care and respect. Lisa in the outpatient department was great, along with everyone else. The hospital was very clean and it seemed very calm and well ran. The chaplain came in and offered a prayer prior to the surgery which was greatly appreciated. We will have no more worries if a hospital stay is required. Thanks to all staff.

If I could give it zero stars I would. We went to the ER recently with our baby. I have never been to an ER this bad. We never saw a single doctor at all but it states we did on the discharge paperwork. One nurse said the doctor was on the phone but he would be in to see us. We NEVER saw the doctor. The nurse told us that my baby had a diagnoses after getting x-rays. She claimed that she was on the phone with a doctor or "making calls."They never showed us any x-rays with the diagnosis. I called back 2 days later and they said the notes indicated the x-rays were inconclusive. So 3+ hours later and no answers??? What a joke. Do not entrust your children to this hospital.

Best experience from the doctor office to administration to exray to lab...Everyone was professional. Hospital extremely clean! A+

Just told someone that this hospital is the Chick-fil-a of hospitals. "My pleasure...how can I help you..." Words you hear continuously from everyone from food service, to Drs to CNAs to nurses to cleaning staff. Everyone is so friendly and care is exceptional. Special thanks to Dr. Lang, Nurse Deb, and CNA Brittney!

My husband was experiencing kidney stones. He was puking in the lobby crying and moaning in severe pain. It took forever to be seen and took twice as long to get pain medication. The morphine they gave him only lasted about 30 minutes or so if that. It honestly only knocked down the level of pain. His pain never fully went away even after the morphine. His pain came back with a vengeance! I told the nurses 3 different times how unbearable his pain was and still they made him wait and wait. It is not humane for someone to be in that much pain and to be ignored. Especially when they have absolute proof that kidney stones are the cause of the pain. There was blood running up through his iv. I told the nurse and she said ok and ten minutes later no one still hadn’t come to fix it. Then his iv fluid bag ran empty and I had to go get someone to take it out. The doctor finally came the 2nd time the entire 4 or 5 hour visit. I had to ask her a couple times if she planned on giving him something for pain. All she seemed concerned with was getting a urine sample. This place was terrible! No one came to check on him or ask how he was feeling. They only entered the room to give him an iv to administer the medication to get a urine sample or to fix the blood pressure machine when it went off beeping. Even during those mandatory visits they did not bother asking him how he felt or how his pain was. Don’t you think that’s part of their job? Even the doctor didn’t bother asking how his pain was or how he felt. Here we are an hour an half later after telling them 4 times his pain is unbearable and he still is suffering and dry heaving because he is in so much pain and so nauseous. I will never come back here or bring any of my family here ever again! The doctor seen me pacing up and down in front of my husbands bed and came in the room and told us that his nurse had been on lunch this whole time and no one covered his rooms for him while he was gone. That is ridiculous! It’s been hours still no pain relief and still dry heaving!!!!!!

The entire Park Ridge system is a ripoff. Two months ago I was in their ER waiting room for about 30 minutes and few weeks later I receive a bill with a charge of $200. That's $200 for sitting in one of their chairs for 30 minutes, no other services provided. I called their financial department and I asked if there is any way they can reduce the bill because I thought the charge was a bit ridiculous. I was told that their supervisor Nikki will give me a call back. Two weeks later, NO CALL instead I receive a call from their financial department to see if I am going to pay this bill. The bill isn't even overdue, why call? I should've never chosen to go here because I had another negative experience with them. About a year ago I went to see one of their orthopedist at Southeastern sports medicine. I usually just pay a $50 co-pay if I see a specialist but the way they billed I had to pay way more! Stay away from Park Ridge Health and any of their facilities or you will end up paying way more for the services provided.

The baby place at Park Ridge is wonderful. The staff was so helpful to me as a new mother. I'm so happy to have had Dr. Das as my doctor and would recommend her and this hospital to anyone in the area.

This place is horrible! I came in with dog bites to my face and arms. They sorta cleaned me up and looked me over. They numbed my bites so they could be stitched up. After finishing, all the papers and equipment they used to stitch me up was left on me until we got ready to leave. I asked for an ice pack for my mouth which had been bitten 4 times and never received one. They missed the fact that my right ear was separated from my head at the top and my left ear had a tooth puncture wound as well. I have multiple scratches and bruises all over my body, but they did not look me over to see them. I have visible marks on my neck and jaw line that were never addressed. I was orally given a pain killers and antibiotic and sent home. When I got home I noticed that I only had a prescription for my pain killer...no antibiotic. I had also popped a stitch on the ride home. I was not given any where NEAR proper care. They sent me home bloody and in pain and blamed me for popping my stitch when all I did was sit in the passenger seat to go home! This is the worst hospital I have ever been to! They don't give a damn about their patients or proper medical care! I would NEVER recommend going here again!

A 72 year old vet fell hurt his back and was in extreme pain. So we called 911, they gave him some Fentanyl and took him to park ridge ER, did an X-ray and said he had no broken bones and gave him 5/325 mg of hydrocodone and a prescription for more and wanted to send him home. I advise them that he lived alone, was still in extreme pain and had lot of steps getting into his house and he still could not sit up or stand so how was he going to take care of himself. The nurse’s response “he does not meet our criteria to keep him”.so I started to ask again how will he be able to take care of him, he can’t even get to our car! She started in again about the criteria stuff, I just held up my hand and asked her to stop, she was getting very perturb at this point and I did not want to argue, I just want what is best for my friend. My wife and I were in contact with his daughters all during the duration and into the wee hours of the night, 1 lived in California and the other up in West Virginia so they could not be there quickly. A short time later men entered ER room #8 and introduce himself as some kind of supervisor and asked if there was a problem. So I explained to him my friend was still in extreme pain and could not even sit up how was he supposed to take care of himself in that condition? Again the supervisor started in with not meeting the criteria stuff and also mention they could increase his pain meds. I asked “so you are going to dope him up enough so he can get around and what happens when he falls again? The man’s voice became gruff and started in wit the criteria stuff again, I interrupted him by saying I was not going to take him home in that condition his face got red and stated “I guess we will have to call DDS then! I told him good, I thought that was a great idea, then he could explain to them why they wanted send him home doped up and alone in that condition. I asked him what’s the problem was, he has insurance and he can’t walk. The supervisor left the room. A short time later a nurse came into the room and told us that they were going to have a physical therapist come in a do an evaluation on the patient. So my wife and I left to take care of things that needed to be done. We got a call from 1 of his daughters a couple of hours later and she told us the therapist visited her dad a said "the patient should not be moved and should not be sent home alone." Well it don’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out, I wonder how much it coast for them to get a therapist to come in late on super bowl Sunday night, tell them this man is in a lot of pain, can’t move and it won’t be safe to send him home. DUH HA! It’s all about $$$ And yes I have more similar stories to tell about park ridge.

People who work there are very nice, so one of the stars is for them. The other star is for their triage unit, which got x-rays scheduled right away so that info was available to the medical staff before they even examined me. Too bad they dropped the ball with them once they examined them. After the usual longer-than-anticipated wait, I got in and blood was taken. The nurses had seen the X-rays and were sure I had pneumonia...this definitely lined up with many of my symptoms. However, they attempted to ignore other major symptoms that could or could NOT be related to pneumonia, and I pointed that out. I asked for medication to treat BOTH illnesses, but received antibiotics and something to STOP diarrhea...only my problem is severe constipation! We waited a ridiculously long time for the blood work results (we were told 45-60 minutes, but waited 2 hours!!). I was so aggravated by the time we got the prescriptions that I didn’t bother to say that the antibiotic they gave me was seldom effective for me. I asked for a work note in case I still wasn’t feeling better by Monday...the note is only good until tomorrow!! Folks in northern Henderson County will be better served by driving south to Pardee or north to Mission in Asheville.

I am a 21 year female of average weight and height. I visited Park Ridge one day because I could not move due to severe back pain and spasms. I have over 30 degrees scoliosis that has been progressing over the years. My husband brought me to the ER to 1) relieve the abysmal pain and 2) to find out just what my spinal curvature was affecting. At my age, there is no reason for my back to go out like that, especially when I rarely do any heavy lifting. I sat in the ER, with a spasming back in a stiff, upright chair, for 5 hours. Actually going into the office took me 2 hours, where I only saw Dr. Ann Skinner for all of 5 minutes. When she came in, she was rude and constantly interrupted me. I told her that my spine was over 30 degrees curved from scoliosis and she immediately cut me off saying "every person has at least a little scoliosis". Most people's spines are not an S-shape and are almost completely vertical. This brilliant woman told me that I had only bent/twisted the wrong way too many times (at age 21) and should "only sit when eating, and lay down when sleeping". She left for an hour to give me a cortisol shot. While she was gone, I was in level 8 pain and could hardly move, so I laid down to rest after sitting in a crappy chair for hours. When she comes back after the hour, she barks at me to start walking around, despite my spine resting on my nerves and putting me in level 10 pain. She then gave me the shot, Ibuprofen and a muscle relaxant prescription, sent me on my way, and charged me over $900 for it. This doctor and hospital obviously don't want to take care of their patients, just treat them like scum and shove them out the door as soon as possible.

Avoid a waste of time and money go somewhere else. I had a horrible experience with charges of bill and billing department. They overcharge for lab and doctor visit and does not solve the issues.

Brenda Fannon

My parents are in their 80s and will not go anywhere else for treatment. They (PRH) are so compassionate and caring; more resonable cost also than other area hospitals. I always ask for a detailed bill. Keep up the good work!

Justin Mitchell

This hospital does not even deserve one star. I went in for an internal problem (legs and feet ballooning) and they took one look and told me to buy athletes foot cream and to take Tylenol and aspirin. Thank God I don't have any kidney or liver problems (as far as I know). They didn't even test my blood...

This hospital is wonderful, the nurses and Doctors are so caring and professional. If I have to go to a hospital again,it will be Advent.

My experience is so far going horrible...I came into the hospital around 1:30am...they triaged me about 2:00am and even though I'm suicidal, they so far have left me in the waiting room around an hour.with no one watching me or even checking on me:( this is outrageous!!!!! Uncalled for....

Tammy Creasman

excellent experience...everyone there from check in to check out took their time with me and didn't rush me or rush anything about my case, they even took time to talk to me and get to know me....I was treated with respect and kindness .... not like on an assembly line, like most hospitals where you don't matter..... .they even prayed with me...I highly recommend this hospital and will go back....I highly recommend this hospital...

Carrie Louis

My daughter and I walked in at 9:20 I belive I have have kidney stones and in the worst pain of my life. My daughter is having trouble breathing. They take her right back and she is seen. I waited a hour and then was called back. Walked back to the room told Ill be right back then left until 11:20 when I decided to check on my daughter. She was checked out and done with bronchitis. While I have been left in the room with out anyone even coming to collect my urine. So I checked out unseen. Not good guys!! Wish I could have found out my problem too.

Chad Littlefield

Super caring hospital. Obviously every wing/individual is different, but the Baby Place especially is packed with great staff who care about moms and babies!

Shari Mcminn

I have a $15.00 copay but three bills keep coming up unpaid because of wrong coding and I refuse to pay because of someone's incompetence in billing. I'm definitely leaving Advent Health all together. Hopefully Pardee will be better.

Excellent service when we needed it most! No Wait in ER!! The MD's, Nurses, registration, were all amazing. My husband received excellent care. Thank you.
