WORST HOSPITAL IN NEW YORK. Please do not go to this hospital. Went there because my younger brother who is eight years old had a laceration on his head and we had been waiting to see someone for roughly 7-8 hours. Only to notice that we were skipped by multiple patients. Tried speaking to a nurse and all we were told was to keep waiting until the doctor calls for us. A few hours go by and we asked another nurse and her response was "there are no doctors right now" wait, what? This is a hospital! Then finally around 2AM, we were seen. Great job QHC, you've won the award for worst hospital ever.

Had bad experience in the ER. Nurses were so rude and arrogant even though i asked very politely for some assistance for my friend who was in the ER waiting for 3 hrs for a doctor. I suggest drive the extra 15 mins to get to queens Presbyterian to get a better amicable staff and service.

The emergency room is horrible. I went in with my 5 year old son who wasn't responding after a fainting spell. The nurse who checks patients in told me to grab a number and wait. Waited for 25 minutes and she still wasn't calling numbers or checking in patients, so I left to another emergency room. Keep in mind the emergency room was pretty empty

Queens Hospital Center 82-68 164th St, Jamaica, NY 11434. The Pavillion Restrooms are filthy. The Housekeeping staff and Janitors should be ashamed of themselves. The Clinic, 2nd floor, 1st floor and Main Building Laboratory Restrooms were a nightmare. They smelled of urine. The staff need to clean the restrooms with bleach and scrub the tiolet and floors with scouring power to disinfect the dirt, bacteria and grime. This is not a third-world country and the dirty public restroom situation needs to be remediated. The Hospital Administration, I am certain are aware of this sub-standard. They are posing a safety and health risk. The CDC should fine the Hospital and the staff workers need to do their job and clean. No wonder NYC breaks out with Ebola and Legionaries Diseases. What a filthy shame. They need to clean the bathroom.

I had a broken finger, the doctor put their name next to mine and went home and left me in the emergency room for 6 hours. The nurses knew and just whispered to themselves until they decided 30 min later to tell me and still asked what I came in for. Another time I was in the emergency after getting assaulted by the police. Never arrested yet the big jamaican nurse found it appropriate to walk around yelling “once the pit him back on his meds and give him whatever he didn’t take, he’ll calm down”. I’ve NEVER TAKEN any psychotic drug EVER in my life.

Literally was in the ER for strep for 8 hours . When they discovered it was strep in the first hour of me being there. The nurse never asked what i was allergic to and was about to give me penicillin as an antibiotic until i said something. Then the nurse sent me for another chest xray after they had already done one,, which means she wasn’t paying attention to my chart.. it seems like the nurses in the blue scrubs are very less attentive then the others.. and basically i wasted extra hours in there for no reason.. the doctor even gave that nurse my discharge papers maybe a hour before she actually realized she had them

Horrible service! Friend came in because of chest pains and literally was in a room in pain for 2hrs before he finally got a doctor (mind you had I not made a scene they probably would've taken longer) unbelievable! He could've gotten a heart attack before they finally got to him. They literally drop patients in rooms and forget about them, waste hours of their time and then wanna bill them. Get your shirt together! Sad excuse for a hospital

The whole hospital experience was not bad, but one doctor in particular was despicable. Doctor Helen Ma, a gynecologist as far as I know. My mom was admitted in the hospital because of excessive bleeding from her uterus. Dr. Ma was ridiculously emotionally detached, which I find unacceptable in a doctor. She showed no care in the world that my mom was literally screaming, very loud, in pain. Dr. Ma stood at the bedside staring at my mom and asked us (my dad and I) when she ate, when she took her last painkiller, did she throw up before or after. Obviously, with all the screaming, yelling, and craziness we couldn't answer them accurately, and it's not like we kept record of when she ate and threw up. I expected her to be caring and assure my mom that everything will be fine and the painkillers will be arriving shortly, but no. Doctor Helen Ma with her attitude does not seem suitable as a doctor. Does not seem like a people person. Just because you went to medical school and had the brain power to do well, does not mean you know how to work well with people. Two years prior, 2014, my mom was admitted at the same hospital for the same reason and and it was a MUCH better experience with better doctors and service.

Just got off the phone with a Nurse Baptiste and. Nurse Jean or Jane . If you do not know how to speak on the phone with a patient’s family member in an appropriate manner then do not , get someone who does . I know it’s a hospital and it’s busy but there is always time to be kind! Such a lack of professionalism and common courtesy. You are not just dealing with patients but also with concerned family members . There must be some sort of training .

Very bad service no phone call to confirm appointment change. Had an appointment to see orthopedics. Took day off from work went and waited by the clinic area. Asked the next clinic near by. They said they are closed today. Missed day of work not one call nothing by mail.

They treated my newborn baby well and myself but I did not like one of the staff she said why didn't you tell me the baby was going to poop when they put her skin to skin after she born. Also I wasn't getting enough milk and she kept on crying all night and one of the nurses said " make her calm down or do something about it" they refused to give me bottles to feed her.

Just had my gallbladder out here yesterday. They treated me very well and I'm healing up. I've dealt with them for other stuff - the ER is typical for a busy city one - chaos, but elsewhere the hospital is very good. It's also very clean, and the clinics integrate all financial classes well, so if you are low income you don't feel like you are stuffed in a grungy basement. Still very busy, but in a nice sunny environment.

I came here once for Emergency and several times for clinic appointments when I used to live in Queens. Queens Hospital is way better than Jamaica Hospital. The hospital is clean, the staff is organized, and both in ER and clinic patients are attended to with signif less wait time than at most other hospitals.

Was treated royally by staff but some of the doctors I encountered think they special and very arrogant because they went to med school. They lack bedside manner and spoke openly about other patients condition in my presence. Imagine being in preterm labour at 7 months and hearing the doctors dismiss one patient's baby's death as if it was irrelevant

Dr. Balaoura is the best pediatrician and nurse Clark rocks! My daughter was born at this hospital and Dr B has been her pediatrician and Ms. Clarke have been her nurse since birth! My daughter adores them both. They are always there when I need them to answer questions or concerns I may have. They take their time with you and although it’s in a clinic, and I have the option to choose a private pediatrician, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The service, care and compassion they offer is superb! These ladies are truly gem and the meaning of what health care providers should be! ❤️

You'll spend 3 hours doing a 10 minute checkup. When my wife was pregnant we came to this hospital. They made unnecessary appointments so they could charge our insurance and because they do this for every patient the waiting room is overcrowded and your appointment is never on time. This hospital is a slave driver for the doctors and staff as well.

My first time for me and my husband, who had the flu for 2 days and we were told by the medics that queens general was better to go to than Jamaica hospital being that we live in south ozone. So we took that chance in going to queens general. When we got there that place was like a freaking zoo. Homeless people mixed with the mental one's and had like most of the mental patient in handcuffs. The worst of all the nurses were rude and talking bad back to the patients. So you see my husband is a Veteran and after he showed his ass, they picked up paced to get us outta there even though we were there since 8pm and didn't get home till 5am like working a freaking grave yard shift. Still the worst hospital ever so for now on we will be going to flushing hospital.

I had to accompany my friend to the ER and what would usually be a nightmare turned out to be not that bad actually. The staff here is great especially Angelica! She was so reassuring and down to Earth. She made the experience easier and a lot quicker. Angelica was really positive which helped ease my friend's mind. I would 100% recommend this hospital. Also The Pavillion is nice, peaceful and very clean.

horrible , doctor was supposed to have gave my two year old 1 iv needle and he recieved 4 needles because she messed up and couldnt find vein , my son never went through that neither have i .... and she told me she was going to get him some pedialyte and forgot about it. Worse hospital in history. It was time to have my baby and went to here first. My contractions was every 2 to 1 min apart. They told me I wasn't in labor and to come back monday. They released me with contractions 30 seconds to a min apart. I was rushed by my relatives to another hospital and had my baby less than 4 hours after. If they could refused a pregnant woman in labor and said the baby wasn't coming then I don't know what type of nurses and doctors work there, but surely ones who don't know a single thing.

I can’t believe the level of care they provide here. We got here at 10:30pm and from the start you could tell the staff are overworked or just don’t care. A lady fell on the floor in the waiting room and the registration lady said, “she probably threw herself on the floor.” Who says that out load and to the patient?!?! We sat in the urgent care for almost 3 hours. There was one nurse who treated, diagnosed, and worked you up. Where the heck is the doctor? She didn’t even come in the room!! Then to make matters worst the registration man came in and wanted insurance information as soon as we walked into the urgent care. So unprofessional! Thankfully, the one nurse on duty was polite and tried to do her best, I mean she is the nurse, doctor, and everything in between. ***If you plan on coming here don’t, try ANY other hospital!!!!***

Don't know anything about the staff or services (yet). There are no signs for parking anywhere. There are no signs for visitors. I had to park on the street - I have MS and it's difficult to walk. It was a 3 block walk to the hospital. There were no signs directing me to the visitors entrance so I went to Emergency. I was told to go to the Main Entrance outside, around the corner. I walked about 50 yards toward the largest door, passing a smaller one because it did not say "Visitors". The largest door was locked. No sign on it. I had to walk back to the smaller entrance. Keep in mind that I have MS and only have a limited number of steps in each day. I asked the person at the desk if there was any parking. She said "we only have paid parking". I said to her "then where are the damn signs?" I could have used saltier language, but I remained civil. If the staff of this place is as deficient as the signage, this must be an awful hospital. Thank God, my son was only there for one day.

This hospital should be shut down. To many malpractice in this place. 5 ago years My husband had hemorrhage in his brain. His speech was slur and he slept a lot when he went to this wack hospital they sent him home. They said he had an headache he return a second time because I told him thats no headache. The second time they did a cat scan they saw the hemorrhage he was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital to be treated. Thank God he's doing well. When my son was three (now 11) my son had rashes I took him to Queens hospital and the doctor diagnosed him with chickenpox I told her that is not chickenpox I know how it looks like (my siblings and had it when we were you young) I took him to his pediatrician she said that was not chickenpox but another name. She said that it will go away in its own and he'll be fine.

First of all, I've been at Queens Hospital Center for 10 years and I have to say that I've seen many changes. Yes, the medical center is still slow, however, the center is making progress. Yes, there are rude people who work there--and there are rude people who go there for services. Two attitudes don't make it work. I haven't been treated disrespectfully since coming to Queens Hospital Center. I have had three surgeries and have been taken care of very well. The ER has improved. I went two months ago and I had to wait four hours down from six hours. That's improvement and I was seen in the triage. So I guess it depends on what department of the center you go to for services.

My son, and visiting family members, were treated very well here in a clean, modern facility by staff members who clearly were under time pressure to handle their load of cases but who were responsive and professional. Reviewers who belittle the cleanliness,patients and staff appear to be unfamiliar with good hospitals in major US cities. This one compares well to others where I and my family have been treated.

Worst experience ever. Staff need to be trained on how to speak and behave with patients. Work ethics are very low. I suggest the hospital invests in good employees or a good training facility where they teach their employees how to behave at their work place. I would NEVER recommend anyone to come to this hospital. They DO NOT care about patients they’re more invested in playing around with each other. Also, when my father was vomiting all the nurse walked away instead of providing him with a bucket. Oh and don’t forget the stained sheets there too. Apparently they are “washed”.

This is the worse hospital i have ever been. No one wants to do their jobs. Without doing their jobs, the nurses will yell at you. If have an appointment, expect to wait at least 4-5 hours! Terrible service. Bedside manner is close to zero. Nurses and other staffs are rude. Emergency room waiting time is about 4 hours ever for pediatric. The staffs probably do not know what is professionalism. I am surprised this hospital still exists. It should be changed or shut down. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!

I think its worst hospital in Queens. My mom was suffering from severe pain. I took to her Emergency room But they didn't care. Even no one help my mom to go to Restroom. I took her to the restroom. We went to hospital 1:30am My mom was yelling for pain but no one came. At 3 am one nurse came to take to her MRI room then we waited there one hour. After MRI we got a report at 5:30. And rest of the time my mom did not get any treatment. And night time hospital was empty only my mom was a patient . stuff and nurse most of the time they gossip each other. Im so disappoint for their service. So finally we got released at 6 but my mom still not feeling well.

Just because they changed their name doesn't mean they changed their game. The nurses, 90% of them act like they're in the prison yard, and fight you more than the patients, you got staff who are backed because of the union, but don't care about helping anyone. My grandmother was sick and asked some overweight loudmouth, laughing so loud everyone thought it was a club. This slob didn't even bat an eye in the Cancer Center, saying she's a Navigator or whatever her title was. I even spoke to Patient Relations, they did absolutely NOTHING! This one guy, some guy from the Congo or wherever, all he did was talk to me like he was reading off of a script. We got out of there as fast as we could. DON'T EVEN TRY CALLING THE HOSPITAL FOR HELP!!! I literally had to go to the hospital and was told by an employee she was told by her boss NOT to pick up the phone. Um, excuse me, I have things to do, it's not like I'm waiting around just to be told I can use services. If you have insurance, don't go here. If you don't have insurance, this is your best bet. I saw lady fight to pay a $10 bill for meds, screaming, cursing, and crying. 5 minutes later, she got into a SUV with her iPhone X. I heard one lady said her son went to the ER, they did nothing for him, she went to Northwell and he had scarlet fever. In 2017!!! Their best bet is when Northwell or NYU buys them out.

WORST HOSPITAL EVER.They give no time and effort to listen to you. They're always talking over you. They even lie to you. The psychiatrist here told me that I was allowed to go home after he comes back from signing papers, then he comes outside and tells me he never said that. I can’t explain to you how bad this hospital is. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this hospital. Come if you want to be greatly dissapointed. The doctor made me stay without even checking me out, and when we called him he just said “no he has to stay, goodbye now”. This hospital needs to shut down ASAP. I am very upset.

Extremely long ER wait times. Business-oriented hospital, they do not care about your well-being as long as they get the $$$$ from you or insurance they will keep you confined there. If your health coverage is bad, then you'll be kicked out faster than how you got in. Majority of the people confined are really not sick but are just fully covered by insurance.

My mom was very sick and we came by car to this hospital, the staff was great and she was taken care of right away with no issues. She was admitted to the hospital and she says the staff was very attentive. overall she was pleased with the service. they did all sorts of tests and she is doing fine. she even had a nurse come to her house once a week.

Horrible place! A few year's ago wasn't that bad but it looks like it got worst from then. My daughter had to wait almost 5 hours just to see the doctor only to tell us she had a common cold! Service is poor! I refuse to go there anymore

How is this hospital still running? Someone please explain to me. If you’re dying at home and this hospital is the last option , die at home. Literally the worst hospital ever. I called to see if my brother in law was there and as soon as someone picks up, the lady says the hospital name and before I can get a few words in - SLAM & she hangs up. Second time I call I repeat again “ hi I’m trying to see if my brother in law has been admitted to this hospital”...the lady goes “ wrong department.” The hold music comes on I’m like ok....next person picks up ..once again “hi can you tell me if my brother in law has been admitted into this hospital... This guy didn’t say a WORD NOT A WORD straight up put me on hold.. Next person picks up ...ONCE AGAIN..” hi can you tell me if my brother in law has been admitted into this hospital...” oh how lucky was I to get a response. “ What’s his name? His last time is barak.. she cuts me off “ oh boy, give me a few minutes!” Puts me on hold...the amount of times I was interrupted, put on hold without no response, even HUNG UP on once was so disheartening & rude! Is this acceptable especially at time of need? Don’t bother to go here! Learn to teach your staff basic mannerism, better work ethics & best of all..human decency!

Why they hire these people.. Worst hospital even they giving my fiance a call Vm stating his appointment cancell in urology because he doesn't have referral in system, when doctor gave referral and they say it's a surgery appointment . I have been to this hospital ER a few times and my experience was always good as far as treatment, The Doctors actually asking me what's wrong and allowing me to say, being involved in the treatment plan knowing what they're doing or about to. My recent visit was due to a sinus infection along with a upper respiratory infection and fever. I have seen some very compassionate and caring Nurses dealing with other patients besides myself. It's a good hospital in my opinion ER wise being i have never been in any other part of the hospital.

Extremely unsanitary. Extremely unprofessional. Nurses repeatedly cursed at me while they were caring for me. Nurses forced me to sleep on feces soiled sheets and with feces soiled blankets. Feces throughout the floor near the bed and in the room's bathroom. Janitor never truly cleaned even though he showed up numerous times. The room required an urgent deep cleaning. They tried to force me to take drugs that are inappropriate for me and refused to listen to my needs. They clearly misdiagnosed my issues. They gave me medications that made me sicker. If you ever end up as an inpatient in this hospital, dial 911 immediately and ask for a transfer! New York Presbyterian Queens has significant issues but it's much cleaner and it's much safer and it's much more reliable. The best time to register there is after 7am.

I had cancer breast removal surgery and this hospital want to kick me out, to take 2 buses and a train back to Brooklyn. I thought cancer survivors were treated with more respect than that! I asked Doctor Benjamin Pace if I could stay one extra day so that I can make my appointment with Gynecology and I also need transportation home afterwards, I was waiting for this very important appointment for 7 months now and he stated that he can make it happen. Today 12/2/2017 Doctor Pace is off and the other doctors state that they can not allow that, well guess what after my appointment if I go outside this hospital and fall down or fall down into the tracks my family will sue this lying hospital. I am on Tylenol 3 and feeling

Imagine what you expect in a typical ER, and toss that in the trash when you come here. The staff are extremely disrespectful save for like one or two people. I had a friend who was admitted here after he attempted suicide. After 6 hours in the ER, they admitted him into a Psych Ward with staff that threatened to medicate patients if they didn't comply. I don't know who's bright idea was it to put the suicidal person in the same room as patients with violent tendencies and that scream. The doctor reviewing his case was rude and yelled at him, calling him a liar when he was asking when he was going home. He was more interested in what he took rather than why. He even tried to convince me and his parents that the reason was he was "playing too many video games". I couldn't even speak to him since they only allowed like 3 minute phone calls every two hours. Don't come here unless you want to be treated horribly, threatened with drugs, and practically misdiagnosed. This hospital should be shut down immediately.

Worst hospital ever!! Would not take a dog there. Nurses are belligerent and most departments don't care and won't even return your calls. Had a relative in for heart surgery no one would answer phones or return calls for info. Entire family was a wreck due to these callous unprofessionals. Overtly nasty their attitudes, zero empathy. Avoid at all costs. Would give zero stars if I could for horrible customer and patient care.

Horrible hospital. Your waiting at the emergency room for 3-4 hours and when you ask how many patient it's in front of you. They answer with a horrible tone. Little kids comes with high fever and they don't care. This workers don't care. This hospital needs good doctors and nurses who will care for their patients just like North Shore that's a great hospital where they treat you well. I recommend North Shore 1 million times then this horrible hospital.

Words cannot not describe my disgust and anger for the treatment my grandmother received back in early May of this year at this hospital. my grandmother was sent here because Elmhurst was out of beds. Moreover, when she entered this hospital she was having trouble with rambling and semi manic states. However, over the two weeks she was at this hospital her state declined so bad that it ultimately lead to her passing at a rehab center. My Grandmother was able to talk politics and culture of the like of Shakespeare and Mozart. Thus, by the time the hospital shipped her to the rehab center she was a rambling mess, talking nonsense and trying to speak in codes as this place left her in a extreme paranoid state. Also, while she stayed there two things were stolen from her room as the thief knew she wasn't going to notice it missing, though me and my family knew. the hospital told us she shouldn't have had these possessions such as a watch or a bottle of perfume given to her on mother's day. Nevertheless, such simple things to keep one's well being in check like a watch and a gift are to hard to keep track and is easy picking for the staff when they know the patient is going senile. additionally the doctors would changed like one would change a diaper. everyday it was something new and the doctors knew no way to help my grandmother. moreover, these doctors all went home at 5 pm., thus when my grandmother's sun-downing would act up and her confusion and paranoia would spike there was no doctor there to help ease her pain or to calm her down. Never send any loved one to this place as they will leave worse than when they entered. I can attest to this as i called the patient advocate and when i said that if more things were stolen from my grandmother's room or if there weren't any signs of improvement, my family was going to take the matter to litigation, the man pretended he could not hear me and then hung up on me. thus, if you want to know what their patients mean to them you have you proof. their patients are nothing more than mere dollar signs and occupied beds. This all I have to say as my family is still grieving the loss and magical amazing person that was left to rot in this hospital. May god have mercy on the souls who put who through this. I forgive them, but I will never forget what they did.

I came to see my father in law, when I went to the desk to find out what room he was in the secretary was so rude when she gave me the room number I had to go to another person to get in where I had to go. This person was also rude and had an attitude! It looks to me like everyone at this hospital is rude and look like they don't want to be here. It's a hospital everyone is supposed to be nice and speak to people in a mannerly way. This is by far the worst hospital I've ever came to!

Horrible Service, nobody wants to do their job. They'll keep throwing you around until you have no other choice but to figure it out on your own. And most of the secretaries ALWAYS have an attitude and make you feel like garbage. The only thing that's keeping me from reviewing 1 star is that some of the people here are kind and alleviate most of the experience. I appreciate their concern.
