A friend of mine went to the hospital a few years back telling me how great experience he had there & the staff was super excellent ! Therefore Right this minute , I have an emergency with my godson & I need some help .

Karson Kalt

Wait time in the er is ridiculous. I’ve been here 3 hours and still no help despite the fact I am In obscene pain

Erica Guerrido

Came in here for shortness of breath, chest tightness and sharp pains in my chest and legs. Currently, I’m standing in the hall because they don’t even have a place for me to sit! Just horrible. Online they’re rated the #1 hospital in nyc. Nonsense! Staff has walked passed me numerous times without an attempt to provide assistance. Just horrible

frankemi hernandez zorrilla

Omg really it is a good hospital but the waiting in the emergency is to die Jesus people have to come prepare to spend the hole day in here

Tywana Ramcharitar

Best care I have ever received the Dr's and staff are awesome

Hasan Martinsson

The Doctors are really great at listening and problems solving. They give you the exact feedback of what you need with your Health & Fitness modifications you need to make to be your best self. I can happily say I'm on the road to progress with my health and fitness.

This hospital is horrible it’s very disgusting it’s teally dirty the staff is horrible it stinks and they’re very rude I would not recommend this hospital if you want urgent care.

james ryan caldwell

Never coming again, even though it’s next door to my house. I could probably go to an emergency room in China and get treated more quickly.

Francis Daly

My overall experience with Columbia Presbyterian was honestly nothing more I could ask for from a hospital. My mother is fighting End Stage COPD Emphysema and had attempted to get a lung transplant from this hospital. Despite that they denied my mother for a Lung Transplant due to the fact that she’s to terminally ill to accept a lung.. every staff member in this hospital was nothing but kind, patient, humble and go above and beyond to try and satisfy the patient and their family’s. Having an experience as such in this hospital, seeing workers this determined makes me proud to say I’d like to major to become a Respiratory Therapist for all the COPD fighters. Thank you for trying your hardest NY Presbyterian!

Went in on Monday with shortness of breath, even though the staff was overworked they attended me and had me breathing in no time, I was told I would have to stay overnight for observation and some more tests which would have been fine except had to wait two days in emergency room, then they threw me in a hallway for over four hours, switched me to a makeshift room and on the third day went into an actual room. In all that waiting non of the tests were performed they kept me without food or anything to drink for almost thirty six hours only to postpone and feed me then repeat the process of no food and postponement, so sad because the nurses were so pleasant and trying hard to take care of me but when you asked the so called attending physician they had no answer or explanation as to my condition. When I complained on what was going on, their answer was that they didn't know. After five days of all this run around and trying to be patient I gave up and left. Three stars because of the effort the nurses where giving me during this ordeal.

Staff members are amazing

5 hour wait in ER with a one year old with over 100 degree fever. Unreal. As an Emt I find this lack of caring unacceptable.

8 hours in the emergency room and had to leave to another hospital due to frustration and negligence of tge staff

Make sure to get voucher for your wallet parking ticket ($10) for the whole day. Otherwise you'll have to pay $35.

Marla Chase

Friendly and respectful of patient.

Maureen Carroll

Worst billing experience ever. Got a bill from 19 months ago for my copay. My insurance paid 1 month after the date of services. I called and went in a frustrating circle with the billing office making excuses for why I didn't get a bill sooner. I can't prove that it was paid at the time of service so I now have to pay or it will go to collections. Bad billing practices!

Chance W

Some of the friendliest staff I’ve encountered at any NYC hospital.

AD. KOUAME

4 stars for the Staff. Nice inside.

Dee Bunneh

Excellent hospital but parking is expensive and very inconvenient. Excellent staff and doctors.

Charles Hunter

Had double bypass surgery worst possible experience. Staff for the most part were horrible never saw surgeon once after the surgery had to be re admitted 10 days later for 7 more days for infection in the chest. Different nurse everyday food was horrendous

Mayra Dominguez

92 years old with dementia still in emergency room after 2 days. Staff is unresponsive and do not even answer the phones

Joe Schippa

My daughter’s boyfriend went in for an emergency appendectomy. She was with him reporting his progress to us hourly. This young man was admitted on Thursday morning and was still waiting for surgery on Saturday. As someone in the healthcare field, I have an understanding of how complex these situations can be and know that waiting is pretty common but from what I was hearing there was no effective communication by staff nor were things handled professionally. I couldn’t even reach a patient advocate. Just because an Ivy League university attaches its name to a hospital doesn’t mean the quality of care is good. Smart (presumably) people aren’t always the most efficient or have the best emotional intelligence, both of which you need when people are sick. NYP better get its act together.

Its a Hospital

One place for all your medical needs

Anthony Aiello

They are the best hospital, and staff in the metropolitan area. The doctors and nursing staff are the very best professionals. They are bright, caring and they communicate very well with each other and the patients.

Shu Lee

This place is A JOKE!!! I came here for my appointment 15 mins early. Whoever behind me all did what they came here for and left. I am now still here waiting for my turn. Its been 50mins ‼️‼️‼️GO TO OTHER HOSPITALS PEOPLE‼️‼️‼️ DON'T COME HERE ‼️‼️‼️ Upgrade: Alright ‼️ I came here 9:17am. Now its 10:18am. It's my turn now.

Chris Bartley

Never deal with them

Magdalena Baez

Thanks to the great nurse Abigail for taking such good care of my grandma!!! Some people just take the job to take the job you really care for your patients.. Maggy

Fernando Lira

If I could I give a zero start I would. Be carful with pt belongings. My godmother was there going to surgery and someone stole money from her. Upper management cannot refund money and I just a simple sorry. Cannot believe it and here I was thinking I was a good place.

Weronia Kwiecinski

First hospital visit in my life! A really great hospital. All my fears prior to my neurosurgery were needless. From the neurosurgeon, Dr. McCormick, to the hospital staff---I was in good hands.

VANESSA DECARBO

I was confused by the quality of care as an impatient post-op. I received the most superior care - at night, with the night nurses at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center (Milstein Hospital Building), Hudson North on the 7th floor. Truly, the at night were responsive, proactive, able to anticipate need and able to respond immediately. Based only on that experience - it was amazing. The day nurses we mediocre at best, lazy, non responsive, it was bad. In a situation like post op recovery, patience are compromised in capacity, and unless they can advocate for themselves or have a family member, the nurse needs to be dependable - nursing is a calling, if you don't love your job, find another profession please.

Steven W. Giovinco

I think there are some good doctors here.

Jennifer Florentino

Very pleased

Luis Rondon

Do not bother coming here unless you are shot. My mother had a heart attack last night and we sre STILL waiting for a bed in the ER. 21 Hours and counting...

Paulette Schneider

I work on the campu

Rafael Valdivieso

Amazing things happen here!

Mark Alpert

I've been sitting in the emergency room for three hours now listening to the doctor that's supposed to be in charge hitting on a nurse while my mother's kidneys are failing. If you want your love ones to bring them here.

Vir

Worst experience of my life. I went to ER for stitches when I was bleeding and was made to wait for an hour and a half. Nobody attended to me neither was I provided a seat. I was waiting in room 20 with two other patients and their relatives. I was standing there for almost an hour and 15 min. No doctor or nurse came to check in with me. Still bleeding!

Danny Perez

By far the worst hospital in NYC! The nurses are not helpful at all. This hospital is run by children. The ER is dirty beside manner is horrible! We have been here since 630am to 10pm and have not seen a doctor on the floor all you see is really young nurses when you ask for a doctor the nurses reply they have to find the doctor. Worst place ever!!

Pheobe Carrey

I wouldn’t send my cat to this place for treatment. Came in through the emergency room at 18 weeks with flu symptoms & spotting/bleeding. They didn’t send me to L&D for proper treatment. They sent me to another room filled with different patients. This particular room was filled with 2 crack heads; meanwhile I am pregnant and my 3 year old is with me. This fat/texting nurse gave me a hard time when I asked her to place my son and I alone. She gave me attitude. No one took my urine sample. They just gave me a ultrasound in the emergency room waiting area... unprofessional. Everyone is on their phones texting. I had to talk to a doctor and pharmacist through a freakin screen. This place is a joke.

mergirl2000 Dunne

Yes the emergency room sucks but it is still best hospital plus they have great food

KPG Doxi Ma

Been here 2 times and they are 0 for 2 in my book. There will not be a 3rd time!!!!!!!!!

The worst experience of my life !!?? I checked in at 5:26 pm Friday afternoon and I haven't seen a doctor since and I left home at 5:30 a.m Saturday couldn't take it anymore I never in my life waited so long in a e.r with so much pain to top that off horrible horrible !!!

Rafael Martinez

Receptionist are very nice and treat you very well. Doctors ate professional and care about patients needs.

mdy nishat

I went to the ER with broken leg and ankel spring. They did x Ray and said my left fibula has broken. Then they take another stress view image to see if ankle bone alignment is good or no.. if my ankle is not stable they will do surgery. After the x Ray orthopedic said my ankle is stable. So he just put the splint amd took another x Ray to see everything is good. After 1 hours they came to me and said good to go home and see a orthopedic in 2 weeks. Once I saw a orthopedic doctor, doctor told me that my ankle is not stable based on the X-ray they did on the emergency room. Doctor told me to do MRI as soon as possible because this types of ligament injury have to fix right way. My MRI report also indicate that my both ligament has ruptured. I suffered for 2 weeks for laying with me ER. They should go for surgery right way once they see my unstable ankel in 3rd X-ray. Now I have to do another 1 month bed rest after surgery and have to pay a lot of more money out of my pocket.

Mark Kabbash

This is a good hospital. Every time I come I know I'm getting taken care of but the ER room is a mess. These Doctors seem to be overwhelmed in the ER. I have been here to many times but always wish I was in St Luke's Roosevelt instead.

Karen T

My daughter and I were in this hospital for several months. These doctors are highly unprofessional, they abuse their power ....they don't take care of the patients properly. Mr. Craig really needs to do a full evaluation on the staff including the doctors that are running this place down. No real morals...the stress that we suffered alone really puts this place to shame.

Xavier Gomez

My daughter and I wasn't allowed to join her mom in seeing our unborn child Soundagram appointment. Not even allowed to sit in the waiting room . We are force to wait in the car , incredible.

Douglas Williams

Last Sept I was admitted to ER in grave condition! The great team of Dr's Fox, Gaglio, Sharma and staff, BROUGHT ME BACK TO LIFE! During recovery in ICU & 4 Garden South, the nursing staff was professional: attentive and reassuring. Although it's almost been a year since my critical procedure, I will NEVER FORGET everyone who participated in my Miraculous recovery! I am extremely thankful and grateful I was sent to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia Medical Center!!

David Mahony, Ph.D.

My "foster dad" was treated here for strokes. The treatment and staff were excellent. Problem is, we need his medical records for on going treatment and Columbia Prebyterian has failed to get the records to us. It is now two months since the original request and all I'm told is that the records are "in the mail." This is a complete failure from an organization that is responsible for people's health.

Chip Koenig

My son had brain surgery and the procedure and care was beyond imaginable expectations. Dr. Neil Feldstein and hospital staff were incredible

It's A Good Hospital But The Waiting Never Ends Until You To Early Enough Just Carry Snacks

Red HulkTrini

One of the worst hospitals I've been to. my pregnant wife went to the emergency room because she was bleeding she arrived around 9:40 p.m on 1/9/2019 I arrived at the hospital at 10:30 p.m at 11 p.m they put her in a room the nurse said the doctor will be there in a few minutes after I went to the vending machine at 11:15 to get some snacks and drinks I go back to the room and wear waiting and waiting I'm trying to keep her calm and positive when I notice the time it's 1 a.m we got up and left cuz obviously they clearly they for got about us because no one came and said anything no one came to check on her to see how she's feeling or anything. We are now in Lennox hill hospital and with in 10 minutes she has a bed and a rob and a nurse that's periodically checking on her to see if she's okay after 20 minutes the doctor has seen her and talked to her. This is the kind of hospitality a hospital is supposed to give a pregnant woman that is bleeding and scared. Maybe it's just me but any hospital that will have a pregnant woman that is a bleeding and scared waiting for over 2 hours without a doctor or anyone seen her or tending to her needs new staff because it's just disgusting how we were treated .this hospital needs to work on their hospitality and communication. My Name is Alick Delpeshe

Zavia Robinson

Worst hospital. The front desk always have attitudes. The nurse and the people that work at the desk are always on there phones and to busy forcus on social media and eating snacks instead of doing their jobs and worry about the sick people that need to get check in and seen. They are young and unprofessional. My husband who had back pains wanted 2 hours and still haven’t seen a nurse or anyone. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital at all. If you attend going to the emergency room just know you gonna be waiting a long time until you see a doctor. They need to stop playing around and be more professional with there jobs and actually work. Not taking selfies or acting like they in high school having loud conversations. I never seen a bunch of grown people who work at the hospital act like kids.i understand you get pay a good amount but remember there is a job to do.Smh this place needs a upgrade on their workers and the nurses. The only people I seen that actually are doing their jobs is the security’s. If you don’t believe me go at night and see for yourself. Gluck

Manny Baez

Long waiting Everybody seating everybody sitting they don't do nating for pt

Nicolas Irizarry

The emergency room wait is fairly rough. It is always packed and when you get inside the e.r. Doctors and nurses are constantly working around the clock to give their patients the best care they can. I witness it every time I go inside this place. If you are dying, come here! They will have you on your way real quick. The staff is not negligent at all! They make sure everything is in tact and we are doing well as patients. Never have I ever had a bad experience and I've been coming to this hospital for heart checkups every few months. I've seen it all folks. Take it from me.

Angela Poulin

My 82 yr. old Mom was brought there after a mild heart attack. They found she needed 3 stents placed. they were professional, helpful, friendly and courteous. My Mom came out after 8 days feeling SO much better. They kept her walking so she could go right back to her Assisted Living Home. Because I was trying to manage this ALL from a distance, they were my eyes, hands, and ears. They cared, they helped. They truly rock!

Stephen Stone

Bed side manners are threw the floor All thumbs down! The staff at this hospitals ER get pd the same weather one is a stand up citizen, or if one may have fallen short with them self! Treatment to all who come threw them ER doors seeking the medical attention they need should be always treated with the respect, and dignity any and all humans deserve!

Maxim

very crowded! But personel is very responsive anyway

Anauris Soto

I came in at 4AM with shortness of breath and chest pains. I told the staff there that I had already been up for 8 hours (because I was at work) and that I need to go home asap. They didn't care - I left at 12:20PM!! Staff are openly unprofessional to patents and they own co-workers. They had a homeless man running around with bed bugs, yelling in the hallway "why hasn't he showered?!" They made me get two blood tests and a CT scan but forgot to put in iodine. The woman that ended up doing that, somehow missed the majority of my vein and you could barely see results. Thankfully it was good enough because I was not about to re-do that. Then they needed more blood. At this point it was already 11 and I really wanted to go home but my doctor insisted that they check one final thing. If I hadn't gotten up and yelled at the front desk nurse, I would've been waiting for more than an hour. Yet the good doctor told me it'd only be 20 minutes!! I haven't brushed my teeth, I stink from working, they left an unnecessary iv in me... It was the worst experience I've ever had. I will never go back. I would rather die.

Marina Shakarov

If I could give no stars to this hospital, I would. It is horrible, they treat people like experiments.they have no bedside manner. The patient was seen by residents and the attending came as an after thought. the best part is that they called me to tell me that my mom has superficial skin cancer and then they called my sister to let her know that they mixed up the charts. after they discharged my mom, they made an appointment to the Dermatologist in the hospital where his staff decided that they do not have her insurance info. She is 70 years old, had to schlep herself taking 2 trains and this young woman who did not bother to investigate further tells her that the doctor will not see her because there is no payment. Once the whole ordeal was sorted out, the doctor saw her for literally 5 minutes and dismissed her. So she spent 3 hours letting the front desk know that the insurance was on file. This is horrible. If anyone from the hospital is reading this, please pay attention because sick people especially the elderly are very fragile and if anyone wants to go to this hospital DON"T. There are better places that will treat you with dignity and respect.

Jose Cabrera

Allen Pavilion New York Prebysterian. Horrible patient care. A lot of negligence. They really make the patient feel that he does not care at all. Very unprofessional all his staff. Even though there are few emergencies, a doctor did not come to do anything after 4 hours. I do not go back to that hospital anymore.

Nanna Love

always try my best not to come here

Matt Ellison

A long time leukemia patient, after 10 years, I followed a terrific oncologist from MSKCC (Sloan Kettering) to NYP. I have now been treated here nearly two years. Completely contrary to its marketing and publicity machine, and wholly biased evaluations by Google and US News & World Report, I believe it is my personal responsibility to make clear that this is a comprehensively and DANGEROUSLY inept and disorganized institution. I have successively been subject to mixups up in my infusions, tansfusions, have been brought mistakenly into wrong surgery rooms, and worse. This institution can not possibly compare with the best of third world hospitals. I urge anyone considering treatment here to please, for you own safety, take your health matters elsewhere. Sooner or later, this monstrously over merged conglomeration will be in the news for some kind of calamity.

John Mrowka

Lung transplant, very wonderful people and state of the art facility. They saved my life.

Maria Lynn

New York Presbyterian is an amazing hospital. The doctors and staff are the most caring and competent medical staff I have ever encountered.

Kevin Smith

It is simply the best hospital in NYC.

Alibi Saruar

Long wait

Marsha Shourts

I was born in the hospital many many years ago, all of my Doctors that I currently use are a part of this hospital, except my Doctor for a rheumatologist which I use the hospital for special surgery's which is the top hospital to go to concerning any issue that is bone related. Other than that , New York Presbyterian – Columbia is the best and I mean the best hospital to go to concerning any medical situation.

Nancy Soliman

Worst hospital ever. Don't you EVER come here or bring your loved ones here you will see them suffering specially patient that left alone at night!!!! I'm actually still with me dad at the 6 floor he is here for almost 3 weeks and his condition getting worse from the horrible neglect I can't even say doctors they shouldn't have lisnce from the begging to deal with patients. We been denied getting any results of my dad blood work, MRI,...Etc he got blood transfusions and plasma and when we ask why no one know anything. I asked for his records to be sent to other doctor THEY SAID We don't HAVE A fORM for that !!!!!!!!!! I provided the other doctor name, phone number and address for the records to be sent and up until now nothing was sent wasting very valuable time that can lead huge damage and life threatening to my father. I wish I can post all videos I have for them here for you to judge but I will on YouTube so people know the truth about this hospital.... not even one star !!!!!!!

Sulaiman Redha

They took care of my child.. Thanks a lot

GENERALLY TREATED VERY WELL BUT I BELIEVE IN. THE "GOLDEN RULE", TREAT OTHERS THE WAY I WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED!!

Amy lin

My friends and I dined here in December for my birthday. The ambience was great and the staff was phenomenal. The place was beautiful especially for the holiday season. The Manager, Agim, was superb. He made the night for us an unforgettable experience. He gave us access to all their floors even when one of their rooms was closed off for a private event. He let us take our time enjoying all the details and he was even nice enough to take a group picture for us. He came by our table to make sure our expectations were being met and was extremely friendly. Our server, Ersom, was also fantastic. What a night! We will definitely be returning.

Alejandro Borbon

The wait is a bit long like every hospital but they do take great care of you #1 ....

Joyce Nyarko

Worse day February 19 2015, my mum having a heart condition, the doctor was not attentive enough and let her die without helping the nurses and bragged about how he was the best at drawing blood at his previous job. It took the nurses more than 30 minutes and still couldn't find her vain. Watching my mum die in the ER still bothers me till now. It could have been avoided. The aorta surgery was terrible in the first place.

I would give this hospital zero stars if I could. This hospital is a total joke I went to the ER because of a asthma attack and the ER is like a war zone so many sick people but very few doctors running around from one person to the next but I have to say that my experience at the ER was better than what I've experienced later on. At ICU the doctors are clowns not doctors. They don't pay attention to your health, they think they know everything and if you say something is bothering you they will ignore you. After 2 ENT doctors came and put a camera going into my nose and down my throat I saw the video that was taken of my throat and it was very red and irritated, I also had very strong and bad coughs, and wheezing because of my throat. I was begging the doctor all day to give me something to soothe my throat at first i was given lozenges that numbed my throat then a spray that again numbed my throat. The doctors were insisting that the wheezing is because of my asthma but it wasn't - it was coming from my throat all this time but no one listened. I was on 100 nebulizer treatments which did absolutely nothing for the wheezing. I talked with my nurse at ICU and told her I want something to soothe my throat not numb it. After I was given Robutussin DM my throat finally was relieved and the strong coughs and wheezing stopped- my pale color on my face turned back to normal. The doctor and the columbia students wanted to connect what I have to my medical history and my medical history has nothing to do with what I have now. They call themselves doctors but they need to go back to school, open up their books and study instead of hanging around in the front desk and fooling around with one another and when they actually listen to the patients needs and start treating them the way doctors treat others that's when they should call themselves doctors but until then they are clowns.

JDTriesGaming

My nurse Juno was fantastic. However, some woman who was doing x-rays on the person next to me put the heavy x-ray jacket on my chest while I was going in and out (Had the Adult Flu). I literally was already having trouble breathing and she just lobs this thing on my bed like I wasn't even there. She also just lacked politeness and was extremely rude. I don't know. This hospital is a hit or miss. Usually a miss though. Once again though, was really grateful for nurse Juno, made me feel like I was a human actually being cared for.

My mom who is 90 years old and just lost her husband recently, had an appointment with Dr Linn Katus. After traveling for 2 hours to make our appointment the doctors office cancelled our appointment because we were 20 minutes late. I would definitely not see this uncompassionate doctor. I who am a doctor and graduate from this fine institution could not believe what just occurred. I called there office and made them aware we were a bit late due to traffic and was just arriving at the lobby of office. I also expressed that we would appreciate some courtesy because we do not live around the corner and asked the receptionist to speak with the doctor and let her know. Receptionist came back and stated that the doctor said she cannot see us and they need to cancel our appointment. I can tell you that if one of my patients is a bit late to my office and I know they are coming from a distance, I will definitely make time in my busy schedule to see them. Dr Garcia-Iryami

WORSE Hospital in the WORLD!!!!! They would let you die before treating you. I went there for pain in my kidneys. Guys I use to work for them.. they would rather spend millions of dollars in their dumb “research” buildings than hire the proper team.

Regan Wong

I like studying and working here. Sort of. Wish it were in a better area in NYC but what can you do?

Zach Feezel

Have stomach problems and they wouldn’t let me use the rest room.

khaloud turki

The hospital and the staff are horrible, I don’t recommend this place to anyone They treated my mom very bad, they wanted to kill her

Jessica

I had Doctor. Siu and she was absolutely wonderful. She was very patient and kept on checking up on me to see if I was in pain or uncomfortable. She also tried very hard during my root canal to make sure that I was satisfied and that the problem was fixed. She was very on the dot with the time, didn’t even have to wait ten minutes! I’m still waiting for the second part for my root canal, but so far so good!

Gloria Gutierrez

Wish I could give ZERO stars. I know they probably don’t have enough staff but it’s insane that people are in there for 10-12 hours. Came with my mother to the ER at 3 PM with back pain and very high blood sugar level (close to 500). It’s now 12am and they’ve taking her urine twice (misplaced the first sample). Took blood work 6 hours ago and cat-scan 3 hours ago...still no results and haven’t had a doctor speak to us. Update: we left at 1:15 AM - didn’t give her any medicine nor a concrete answer as to what was wrong...

The worth hospital in Manhattan.

Angela Bernal

I have had such a good experience with this hospital that there won’t be enough space to write it all. I can truly say though they have save the life of many people in my family from cancer to bad accidents. I am graceful for this great hospital. Thanks!

Albert Pi Nero

This Hospital and their unprofessional, miserable workers killed my grandmother.

Luz Tavel

Apparently my mother has been working for the Hospiatl for 20years after 20 years of her life: leaving her kids home kissing in moring never spending time with them also missing there assembly in school never new her daugther was in a school play or in singing group because by the time she gets home at 7pm they already was asleeping. I'm child of Mrs. Ramos thats my mother who i love so much she such a workaholic a devoted woman for the hospital moving to PuertoRico she was told she can work from home so great news she move and also sold her home. point blank!!! but now bad news Mrs. Ramos we are sorry to inform you we will need you in the office three days in the week so meaning she will have to fly up North and back to south.. she unable to do so. she had to resign i know this must hurt her because she has change alot. and when my mother is Hurt you have hurt me too because Our family has work with you so many years i was a clerk and also work in food ser as c/s in burgerking also my brother. my father Mr, Ramos was in the Food services department work all holidays... we also did voluntary work in summer our family is call workaholic family, mommy i know u might not like that i had comment about u but they had lost a great woman and i love you**

Worst hospital in manhattan

Go to another hospital. I'd rather drop dead than go to their ER again. The hospital's security staff are a bunch of thugs who believe they have the right to kick down people's front door & windows (I have seen and heard them do this multiple times in WaHi and Inwood). The NYPD does not have the right to kick in someone's door or window without a search warrant. They are FAR from the best hospital in NYC and I am convinced they have people posting false reviews to Google because almost everyone I know in WaHi & Inwood has at least one, if not several New York Presbyterian horror stories. They are the most arrogant bunch of doctors I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with.

Gloria Ramirez

Altercation at New York Presbyterian Hospital Saturday November 15, 2014 On November 15, 2014 my mother Linda De Jesus was moved from the M.i.C.U. to the 6th floor of the New York Presbyterian Hospital. My sister Waleska Zapata and I decided to go see her. Upon entering the hospital we went in search of her new room number. A nurse directed us in the correct direction and we proceeded to enter room 6-346. When I entered the room I found that the lights were off. As I banked the corner of the door I saw two nurses. On was at the foot of my mom’s bed looking towards my mom. The other nurse was by mother’s head. As I looked on I saw the nurse at the head of the bed reach for a pillow and put it over my mother’s face holding it down. The nurse at the floor of the bed started to laugh. I screamed “What are you doing to my mom”. The nurse dropped the pillow while the other nurse stopped laughing and looked at me with her mouth wide open and eyes big. My sister ran in behind me while I ran to the nurse and tried grabbing the pillow from her hand. I started crying and screaming to give me the pillow in which she finally let go. I told my sister to go get help. I continued to scream at both of the nurses until my mom’s room was flooded with light and a combination of nurses, doctors and security officers. They all stood at the door asking what was going on but would not come into the room to check the situation out. Both nurses just walked out the room. I checked my mom out who was drenched in sweat and her pamper was filled with urine. I called the cops twice about the altercation. Both times they took a statement by all involved and left stating no charges were being pressed against the nurses or me. I requested that my mom be immediately moved to another hospital. I was told that this could not be done until Monday morning. Until then they said they move her to another floor which was the 7th. My sister and I decided to take shifts with staying with my mom 24/7 until her move to another facility. I decided to take the first shift. On the morning of Sunday November 16, 2014 I was awakened by two cops between 6 and 6:30 who said that the nurse with the pillow had decided to press charges on me stating that I hit her. At that time I was arrested. Altercation on Riker’s Island Sunday November 16, 2014 until Monday November 17, 2014 I was taken to Rose M Singer the all female prison on Riker’s Island. The officers kept me on camera for my entire stay. One officer on duty took pictures of my address and my house and printed them out stating she would use the information later to seek revenge on me. I was refused my one phone call and told that my stay would be made unbearable. A female inmate informed me that she was told she would be given money into her account and given special privileges if she would hurt me. I soon realized this was true when my cell door was left open and my cellmate was caught with a knife on her. When asked why she had it she said that the officer gave it to her so she could stab me with it. She said she really needed the money in her account. I was given bail and the officers did not want to release me until they found another female inmate to harm me. I was eventually released to go back to the main building after numerous phone calls as to why it was taken them so long to bring me to the main building when my bail was made hours before. On my way out of the facility I was told by another officer that the officer who was trying to do this to me was related to the nurse that accused me of hitting her at New York Presbyterian Hospital where the altercation occurred. With this information I left the prison fearing for not only my life but the lives of my mother who was still in the same hospital and my family that includes my two young children and my sister and nephew who stay with me often. The officer or anyone can pop up at my house anytime they want and not only hurt me but anyone who is with me. My rights were violated and my life was threatened

I can’t thank them enough! Great hospital

i walked into the emergency room with a knee inflammation, i was in a lot of pain and when i was taken to get my x-ray the women kept bending and straightening my knee which did not help with the pain, they gave me no antibiotics, after that i had to wait for literal hours to get my results back and when i did they brought my cast in and the docter said she would be right back to put it on but then proceeded to take 2 more hours to just put on my cast, mind you i was still in a lot of pain. i walked into the emergency room at 8pm and left at 4am just for a cast and crutches. you’d think because i had a knee inflammation they would list me as an emergent patient but thats not the case at all, dont like this emergency room.

Horrible hospital. We went to the emergency room at 8 PM and we are sitting here still at 3.30AM and nobody came yet. The people next to me are her for even longer then me and same story. Staff members just hanging around and talking with each other. Nobody knows what is going on and no real doctor to be found!!! REALLY THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER, THEY ARE ONLY COLLECTING INSURANCE MONEY!!!!

JAISON PAEZ

When u r in a hospital, what u need most is the best medical care and that is exactly what Columbia Presbyterian has to offer... Special thank u to dr Michael Borger and his team, dr rosenbum, dr Q and the entire cardiology team for your wonderful care and expertise.

Yeni Mendoza

this hospital is the worse place to go.... people that work there are extremally rude, my husband is a cancer patient and he is having his treatment there, and I keep telling him " lets go to another place" every time that we go for a test or any procedure, NOBODY CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS !!! NOBODY!!! The nurses, receptionist are so cranky if you ask questions they reply with an attitude if you are hispanic or black FORGET IT. I do not understand why we stayed there. terrible costumer service because like a human they do not try the patients.

In India municipality hospital is better than this hospital

Verónica V. González

Caught this awful nurse slutshaming girls on the internet... it's such a shame that this great hospital needs to have this kind of people working for them. Her name was Rachel Loundsbury a cardiothoracic registered nurse. Definitely should reconsider having people working there that obviously have no respect at all.

Angel Belliard

If I had to choose between being left on the street or being put in this hospital just leave me on the street. It's the same anyways. There is a female who has been begging for half an hour for help and still nobody has gone over to help her. As I type she is vomiting and still no one has gone over there to help. Something needs to be done around here.

Ouch Dude

This is were miracle happen everyday. I was nearly a fatality of spinal meningitis and because of the amazing doctors and nurses hear what turned into a nishal remark and assessment to my parents which were he's probably not going to make it through the night to living strong and happy because of the patient and care I received at new york-presbyterian Columbia hospital

I waited 3 hours in the emergency room. They never came to see me. I came in with Chest pains. They did a EKG. They had 2 doctors on the floor the whole night. I guess I wasn’t having an emergency because I never saw the doctors face once. NONE EVER read the EKG TO ME, and they never ordered I blood test. I waiting 3 hours for nothing. Maybe they think I came to the emergency room for a nap?! This is a walk out hospital. THEY WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE TIRED IF WAITING HOPING YOU WILL WALK OUT. Done!!

Avi Golden

Wonderful hospital. Best in all of NYC. The one minor drawback which is an issue in any NYC ER is the extensive wait times. Crowded waiting rooms which could be avoided if people went to the doctor instead of the ER for minor issues. Also people pack in the ER with the entire family, which is highly uncalled for. Adults can go to the ER alone without 4-5 other people.... which also clogs and congests the waiting room that can make it slightly unpleasant.

na

Long wait to visit sick family. I found the staff to be generally rude. The RN , Tiffany, set to discharge my mother was not helpful and a bit rude when there seemed to be an untimely delay in the process. I know it's a good hospital, some of the staff lack manners.

William Stewart

It not the greatest adult ER. I've seen worse.

Kweli Mouse

The excellent doctors and care!

One of the worse hospital systems in NYC next to St. Luke’s. I am currently a cancer patient and I have been denied treatment twice for absolutely no reason. They have some of the most unprofessional staff and New York Presbyterian and Colombia work as two separate entities. So if your loved one needs chemo please do yourself the favor and look else where. I waited up to 6 hours for a scheduled appointment with no explanation as to why. They also have no respect for HIPPA I had a nurse start telling someone who about my care who was just there to pick me up after I told her not to. My primary doctor ended up being a Nurse Practitioner who tried to pump me full of oxy with absolutely no respect to my health or coming up with any other options. I am in the process of dealing with patient advocacy but I want to let people know. This hospital is the worse and I ended up in worse shape the what I came in. Since leaving this past week after being denied treatment they also tried to call and intimidate me to get me to come back and I will not. Be careful and keep you eyes open. They will take advantage of you as a patient if you decided to deal with them I was. I’m young so I can speak up but they have more older patients who go and don’t speak up or question why they have a scheduleD appointment that they are told to show up an hour early too just to wait around for hours just to be seen as if they just strolled in. I’ve never in my life experience such disregard, unprofessionalism and disregard for my life and health. Sloan Kettering here I come.

Thomas Mauro

They take good care of my cousins

Jim Reithmayr

We saw Doctor Chabot he seems like a great guy. But he sent my wife for a ct scan and have to tell you 4 hours of waiting. That’s just wrong and if you ask a question you get the look

Nasser Al-Hanna

Tranquil, I only saw it on the outside but it'd tranquil with city traffic and high residential buildings. You can sit on the stone wall and just people watch as you see white colored citizens return home from work and a joger or two coming around the block. Lots of people with bikes and good parking for a poplular destination. Reminds me of a laid back, moderate version of Central Park or better yet the buildings by Riverside Park. High enough you can catch a sight of the bridge and even better your surrounded by subway stops for easy transportation to and from here. Enjoy the viee

denise garcia

If you love your family do not bring them to this hospital. The worst hospital in NYC I really had a bad experience my father past away here.

HH Daddy

Very impressive.

Evemarie otero

Great Hospital but the ER service is a long wait

Daniel N P

The Emergency Room was a nightmare 28 months ago, and continues to be the absolute shame of this Medical Center. Bathrooms overflowing onto the floors, people walking into ER with fecal bacteria on their shoes, with stench running through most of the hallways. Staff I'll trained in patient care priorities. Medical staff overworked, uncaring until you raise your voice at them. Very unlike the impeccable care offered for inpatients. This Emergency Room should be torn down and restarted!

Mathilde Savard

I was so very thankful for the excellent care I received.

Suzanna Jovic

The worst unorganized Hospital their appointments are overbooked and understaffed every single trip is a nightmare ...

Karen Globokar

This a review mainly for the ICU team of doctors who did unnecessary procedures on my father to take more money out of his insurance and who never spoke directly with his wife or family about any of the medicinal procedures they would do but only approached our father who was unable to speak first of all and mediciated to the point he did not remember saying yes to a surgery. They have put our family through unspeakable grief and do not have any bedside manner what so ever. I feel badly for any patient or patients family that would go through what we went through at this hospital. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. After the unnecessary procedures they did on my father they pushed him out of the hospital still with pneumonia in his lungs. They did not give our family ample time to look at rehabilitation centers and picked the worst one for him as he was then rehospitalised after 24 hours at the center they chose. He has been sent to another hospital which has been such a blessing. Praying for those who become sick and are sent to this hospital and peace for their families.

This is the worst hospital ever... I've been here for an hour and a half with a head injury and am still waiting in the ER waiting room. Go to literally any hospital in the city, you'll be seen before I will.

rabel nyc

Worst emergency room in nyc people wait for hours just to get checked.

The best hospital

First Sorry my poor English. This hospital was very good one of the best one on East Coast. But now it is like a 3rd World Country Hospital. The way it is running and many places are filty , dirty . I go there since 1980 had few operations was good now every thing is very bad. I feel sorry for those good Doctors there. They loose many patients . Had a medication did a bad side effect and called mediacation department on Doctor office, they took my name number they said in 24 hour hours Doctor will call you, Now 4 days past I am still waiting to get a call from the Doctor. I don't know if this Doctor is good or not. Can not say the name now. Can you imagine how bad it is . some of them are not good. They are the one making Hospital bad and getting worst. Good Doctors gets hurt also. They don't get the messages. They serve they 'r own kind people. Shame. Pity. As I said it is like 3rd World Country. I know 3 names helped at the desk, Katherine R. Kiara V. and Ronahda. I have to find an other Hospital to go.

HOLLY YEARWOOD

The nurses were very friendly and kind.

Id sue but its not a malpratice case.P.S.. DONT LOOK HOMELESS!!!

Drake Hogestyn

5 star... definitely!

Jangelis Diaz

Really bad service and people treat you badly. We’ve been waiting ages for nurse and doctors to attend us.

Stephanie Dale

On sept 19 2011, these "top" heart doctors killed my grandmother. In what seemed to be a common balloon angioplasty; they accidentally punctured her artery and at the same time gave her too much Warfarin. Her blood pressure dropped quickly. She was loosing blood. We lost her because of a careless and sloppy set of doctors. My mother was in the operating room & witnessed this as well as the anesthesiologist who answered his loud cell phone at the beginning of the procedure & vanished after that. I hate these people.

Joseph Cardenas

I came to the ER the other day because of a numbing feeling I had all over my face and hands. I have end stage chronic kidney disease and spoke to my nephrologist before admitting myself. I made it clear to EVERY person I spoke to that my nephrologist wanted me to put on a calcium IV IMMEDIATELY. This was at about 8:30-9PM. After speaking to about 5 different employees, I was sat into a waiting room with other sick patients (which is NOT ideal for someone with end stage renal disease) and...just sat there. 2 hours later a nurse finally decided to pull blood out of me to double check all my vitals....this should’ve have been done almost immediately. ESPECIALLY when everyone in there knows that blood results take over an hour to receive! On top of that, my blood was drawn literally over a garbage bin. I wish I was making this up...the nurse rested my arm onto a garbage bin to pull out blood... I didn’t get my calcium IV until about 2AM...at this point I still didn’t even have a room and was never offered anything to eat while waiting for so long...later that morning I was finally moved to another level (still no room, I shared a curtained area with another patient), and was not let go until 5PM... My stars goes completely to the nurses that took care of me. Their staff of nurses are great! But this hospital seriously needs to rethink how to manage patients in ER. There was a patient who’d been waiting for twice as long as I was for a throat infection...something so minor should be treated and discharged almost immediately in order to focus on other patients in serious help. I’ve been to NYU Langone, MUCH different experience. I’d recommend you check in there if you are ever in a medical situation.

Had major surgery for pyloric stenosis which is an intestinal blockage here. 13 more days will be exactly "71 " YEARS . At the time I was 12 days old. Great job New York Presbyterian Hospital. Formerly known as Columbia Presbyterian . How many people can say they survived " 71" YEARS after ANY surgery ? Will celebrate my 71st Birthday Nov. 1st

Ann B

This review is of the adult ER mostly although the in-patient experience I had with my mom was the absolute worst. Stayed in the ER for 10 + hours in excruciating pain, only to leave the same way I went in. The PAs, nurses, and doctors here are beyond complete idiots. If you plan to get the worst treatment then by all go right ahead. Only go here if it is an absolute last resort. I will say that one doctor did help a little at the end of the 10 hours when I was ready to limp out...

Mohammad Darwish

The doctors and the nurses the best the caring you'll ever come across

david guttmann

I just had tricuspid valve repair done by a most amazing surgeon Craig Smith md and spent a week in icu and 2 days in step down. The icu staff, nurses, doctors, PA’s are amazing. Every day and night I had different nurses and they all were caring, competent and fantastic. The same goes for the step down unit where I had two nurses during my stay who were great. Dr Raza the head of the step down unit is amazing and common sensical. You can see he talks out of experience not just following the book. I give the hospital 4 out of 5 stars because the hospital itself is unclean. The icu room was not cleaned during my stay nor was the step down room. The hospital does not put any emphasis on that and from what I gather management are pencil pushers and look at cost only rather than quality. I dropped my iPhone on th floor and came up all white covered with dirt and dust. The water cups, which are supplied by another underrated by management department are of such poor and probably unhealthy quality that leaving water in them for a while makes the water undrinkable as it gets a musty and acquires a chemical taste. I bet you they put things up for bid and the winner is the lowest priced one no matter the quality. I complained to dr Raza who immediately called down two very nice and concerned supervisors who thanked me profusely for bringing this to their attention but I got the feeling that they were frustrated as higher management who only looks at numbers in these lowly departments (in their eyes not in reality as the EVS department is the ground floor in the fight against infection) frustrates every attempt of theirs to rectify matters by bringing the budget up as a gating issue. I am going to report this in my assessment the hospitals usually send after surgery but I have a feeling I am blowing in the wind.
