This Hospital is included in the category of General hospital.
If you're planning on not returning home go here . You'll literally go here to be treated and end up going back home to god.
The service was terrible. The place should be closed down it was awfull.
Service is terrible nurse is very rude, she doesn’t know even how to put injections she looks like depressed
This hospital is the worst. I spent 9 hours in that hospital just to find out I have a fractured foot, I waited four and a half hours for my X-ray results only because the doctor didn’t care to come and tell me o had to limp over to her to ask and she had the results then I had to ask her again for my cat scan result and then she lied multiple times telling me she was getting my discharge papers but she wasn’t I had to wait 2 hours for my discharge papers and she wasn’t even the person that got it done someone else had to help me after I started to get frustrated with her.
My father died in the emergency room (had a heart attack) waiting to be seen. I'm giving them one star since personnel did respond after noticing he was in serious distress.
tonald rump was born here
this place is amzaing the greatest prezident ever waz born here
Over a 10 hour wait , I am pregnant, and they did not offer me water...Nothing has changed in the performance of this hospital since 1981..No one is directly rude, but the chatter and laughter from the nurses and staff will make you uncomfortable..I give a one star rate to the professionals of this establishment..This hospital needs a new staff. That is the only way this hospital can actually complete with NYC ever changing medical structure.
the hospital is ehhhhh... go there if its an emergency like if you got hit by a car or shot. Otherwise go elsewhere. Much better hospitals in different parts of Queens.
This hospital is horrible, my mother was treated terribly. She has dementia call 911 ,when I went to get her the doctor in The emergency room accuses me of elder abuse . This was 10/16/2019 about11-12pm . Please do not go to Jamaica hospital if you are a senior .
Worst hospital i have seen in my life. No value for life. I was in emergency because my 1yr old daughter ate the piece of glass and they were playing games on computer some are busy with their phone and doctor said nurse checked her and he will see her when my turn will come. How could you leave somebody by just checking blood pressure and putting a thermometer in her mouth. Doctors like him Should fire immidiately. I wish i could file a complaint against them. I dont know what kind of fetal emergencies they take serious.
On 5/15/19 I Brought my mother Bernadina G to the Emergency department for stomach issues and with mom having Dementia and other chronic challenges I was very satisfied for the care my mother received. Especially RN Darious he treated her with much care and his gentleness touched me. Thank you all from the Emergency department at Jamaica hospital. Much love and success to the hospital. Milagros Sincede Savoca.
Not recommended a place to go for emergency. Rather die than waiting
I am so happy with their service. Nurse was so co operative & friendly. They take care of my mother nicely.
This hospital is the worst. I spent 9 hours in that hospital just to find out I have a fractured foot, I waited four and a half hours for my X-ray results only because the doctor didn’t care to come and tell me o had to limp over to her to ask and she had the results then I had to ask her again for my cat scan result and then she lied multiple times telling me she was getting my discharge papers but she wasn’t I had to wait 2 hours for my discharge papers and she wasn’t even the person that got it done someone else had to help me after I started to get frustrated with her.
i came to this hospital when i was bored yesterday wanted to see how bad it actually was, so I enter the hospital and the smell that's in the reception area is like a freaking sewer not making this up by the way. so i went to reception and this 50 year old black lady started to give me an attitude for saying that i came for a check up, but that would be understandable and then out of nowhere, what i believed to be security grabbed me by the throat and threw me across glass doors. I was soo disgusted not just because of the smell of diabetes and sick people. with glass no impaling my skin i ran out of there as fast as a could. DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL its as bad as they say. p.s. vote for trump in 2020
Ughh the worst hospital everrrrr
THIS HOSPITAL ITS THAT WORST PLACE, DON'T EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL, MY DAD WENT TO THE ER AND HE SPEND THAT NIGHT, THEY NEVER GIVE HIM HIS RESULTS. HE WAS THERE SINCE 7/17/19 9:30 PM UNTIL 7/18/19 6:00 AM. AND HE JUST LEFT THIS HOSPITAL HE WAS TIRED. THIS HOSPITAL NEED TO BE CLOSET. I DON'T RECOMMENDED THIS HOSPITAL VERRRRRY WORSE. I GIVE THIS ONE START OTHERWISE I CANNOT POST MY COMMENT. ALERT WITH THIS HOSPITAL.!!!!!!
TRUMP WAS BORN HERE MAGA
DON'T COME HERE...! This has to be one of the worst experience I have ever had. I wish EMT would have taken my father to LIJ. Yes it's a little further but the experience is better there. It took 2 how and my complaining to the emergency room for them to change my father. We were in a regular room. It's almost 5PM. My father had need here since yesterday 6PM and they did NOT feed him. I had to buy food so he can eat. They don't find anything wrong with him. We haven't spoken to a doctor all day and are even getting the run around to dismiss him. IF YOU CAN TAKE YOUR FAMILY TO LONG ISLAND JEWISH. DO IT. IT'S WORTH IT!!!!
Nice and clean hospital with positive atmosphere. For that area it’s very good hospital.
The doctor is professional, the nurse is careful, charges expensive
They physically abuse their patients. Don't always give medicines to the patients that are required for their health. They are rude and disrespectful to the patients.
Here in the pediatric emergency. Doctor said my son was good to go an hour ago. Still waiting for them to finish the paperwork. What kind of nonsense is this? I wonder if they charge the insurance company by the hour and if they're purposely holding patients, because I'm not the only one who is going through the same thing. These people are just nonchalantly walking around while other patients outside could use the bed my son is occupying.
Had a great experience here. I brought my two children here at 11:30pm with terrible coughs and fevers. By 12:15, my children where already admitted. By 12:30 I had already spoke with the doctor/team who began treatment almost instantly. By 1:00 my children where being taken care of. They also had clean restrooms, plenty of condiments, and comfy chairs/beds. If I had to, I would come back. One down side; if you are driving here, expect to pay for parking. Thankfully it’s in a garage with plenty of space.
The WORSE nursing talent acquisition department hands down! Unprofessional, unorganized, and ghetto staff. Kimberly Ryan is a manager and is beyond bad at her job, doesn't respond to email, phone calls and is never in the office. Good luck with her assistants, even worse!! I have friends and family who work there and this apparently is the norm at this facility. Too bad that there are local qualified applicants seeking employment, but can't get through because of incompetent staff. I even went as far as contacting the top people listed on their website to point how bad the HR department is and no one responded. I guess ignoring people is a common practice at this facility... SO DISAPPOINTED in Jamaica Hospital...!!!!!!!!!! :-(
I have never seen a hospital with lack of empathy, disorganization, dirty, and a lack of care human beings. I am really upset what has happen here. I will to say this please avoid sending your love ones there.
Labor and delivery is a mess. I gave birth to my lovely daughter at this hospital but I had a bad experience. Nurses were rude. There were not interaction with patients, not teaching and all I got was she is a "first mom" while I was in pain crying, no compassion instead they were judgmental. Many of these nurses should go back to school to learn nursing manners and ethical principals because many of them are not aware of those. Nurses are advocates for their patients and not there to judge patients especially during labor and delivery, a terrible time of life for new moms and old moms too. But these nurses did not realize that. Their attitude increases patients' stress level and can be very detrimental for their health. Doctors were ok. Walk away from this hospital. I regretted so bad why 911 took me to this place
Best hospital in the world. there was a nurse that gave the best of head. I felt at home
I had my baby girl their and I couldn't have asked for a better hospital!
To a patient to do a EEG went up to the registration desk to ask a question some wad their already , but i just wanted ti ask a question i was abruptly rude spoken to so i move away to ask sone else the question if i was in the right department which i got the answer. I wnt back to the room sat down wait to be registeted. I sat waite for forty five minuets to be registered . The old lad that does the registration was very rude
Acs was called on me because i didn't like the services i was reviving for my son and decided to go to his primary care. How do you forget about an 5yr old asthmatic child?
WORST ER SERVICES EVER..
They were amazing with me and my family. Bless the nurses who work so hard. Doctors and staff as well. Awesome job.
This hospital has the worst staff and is absolutely disgusting! I saw a huge roach crawling on the wall! The nurse's are absolutely unhelpful! They neglect their patients here!
Unbelievable I be waiting for 5 hours in emergency room to see a Doctor
This hospital doesn’t even deserve 1 star. My grandma went in and they was basically playing guessing games with what’s wrong with her. Then went and got hospice involved and kept pushing for us to discharge her because “there was nothing more they can do” but when we suggested a transfer to a better hospital all of a sudden she’s too weak to be transferred and might not make it during the ride (but she was good enough to be discharged though right?) and said how her insurance won’t cover for the ambulance to transfer her or the hospital stay in the new hospital and if we keep her in Jamaica hospital we HAVE to put her on hospice care. Then later on that day all of a sudden she had so much acid in her blood and gave us the option to either do dialysis, which they said she’s too weak to do and might kill her, or iv which will fill her lungs with fluid and when we said to do the dialysis they said no they’ll do the iv and said to call her family to come see her one last time because you never know she could pass any hour. I’m going to make sure I sue tf out of this hospital and demand it be either shut down or fire every mf in there and put in doctors and nurses that actually know what they’re doing.
They are far from confidential and caring. I went to the emergency room for a super personal problem and the intake nurse FORCED me to say what my problem for the visit was in front of everyone in the lobby.Including men.She refused to let me go inside of the waiting area where they do further intake until I told her my problem out loud.I was completely embarrassed and never been to a hospital that said your reason for the visit I in front of a whole lobby full of people. I will rather die than go back there.
Merry Christmas, TJH. This hospital has complete disregard for its employees. If you work there, make sure you are on top of your finances. They pay the bare minimum for malpractice, for compensation and contrive underhanded tactics with their employees as an merely an afterthought. It's all about money here folks. But it's all good. I leave you with Jay's Rap: "15 bucks little man. Put that $** in my hands. If that money doesn't show me then you'll owe me owe me owe." -Dogey
On June 14th 1946 a great man was born here. His name was Donald Trump
Worst hospital I've be too my whole life! It stinks and they are very unprofessional.
My Mom has been in this Hospital for exactly 3 weeks. Since we arrived in the Emergency Room, the Dr's and the entire staff, as extremely busy as they were, were very attentive to her. They moved her to the 3rd floor for a few days, and once again she had top notch care from everyone. Finally up to the 5th floor to ReHab. Each and every Dr., Nurse, Therapist and her Social Worker, were totally amazing! I cannot say enough nice things about this Hospital. Their emergency room compare to another Hospital we visited prior to Jamaica, were quite useless. When it comes to emergency rooms and ReHab in any Hospital...They are simply amazing!
This hospital deserves ZERO stars. The staff is rude. With the exception of one nurse (wish i remembered her name), everyone walks around like they have nothing to do. No sense of urgency. When i finally saw the Dr., 4 hours later. He didnt even examine me. I was in a car accident. He walked to the CHAIR i was sitting in while waiting, asked my name, literally touched my neck, and said "ok, ill give u medicine." "What medicine? And for what? You dont even know whats wrong.." He says, "You had a vehicle collision, right? Its just muscular pain." Never asked what happened, where i had pain, how i was feeling. He prescribed me muscle relaxers and discharged me... Never Again!!
If I could give less than one star I would. The drs here were the direct cause of my mother’s long painful last months of life. She had all the signs of pneumonia while She was an inpatient For CHF. I often questioned if they could run tests on her for it because she was Showing all the signs, even to me who is not a dr or nurse. They told me she did not have pneumonia and discharged her. Three hours later she was rushed back to the ER for difficulty breathing. She soon after arriving went into cardiac arrest for ten minutes. She was deprived of oxygen due to a severe pneumonia that had her lungs completely filled with fluid. From there she was intubated and eventually trached. Soon after that while in their care she developed a infection in her aortic valve that was untreated because they refused to look into any heart related issues. After months there my siblings and I were able to have her transferred to mount Sinai in Manhattan, where two days after arriving she was diagnosed with the infection. Unfortunately the damage from it being untreated was too substantial and she continued deteriorating over the next 3 months and passed away six months after them initially incorrectly discharging her. It was six months of pain and torture and complete suffering all because they rushed her out and then refused to do more to fix their mistakes. Worst hospital ever!! Stay away from there if you want to survive
I have vicit this hospital not long ago, I spend the whole night and I observed high volume of patients. personally my respect and admiration to Dr. Santhosh M. Alex and the nurse Stefany at ER. For their hard working CORTECIA and professionally taking care of their patients. Douglas Medina
Not a good hospital. The ED is small and always jam packed with patients who wait days just to get admitted. The staff are rude because they always have to keep up with the influx of patients. It's always 1 or 2 doctors actively working, other doctors in the nursing station dont do much. I wonder why. The surgical team although cautious, hesitate to do surgery on occasions of galstones. The organization and workflow is tremendously terrible.
The front desk employee in the dental clinic named « laizah » have the worst customer service she was very rude and disrespectful
They don't care and they don't do their job
Beautiful staff. The doctors are very Professional, very thorough and expertise. This is my first choice of emergency room and will always be. Jamaica Hospital has grown strong and continues to make major improvements. I can tell from the amazing doctors. I had 2 doctors who took some great care of me in the chest pain area on Jan 23. One was Dr. Vega and another amazing one that was there in the early afternoon, he also works at South Nassau. I can't remember his name but we had a great conversation. He is also very amazing....2 of the best doctors I have ever experienced. They are a great addition to Jamaica hospital. Love you both....
Worst hospital in the world , kept getting loved room to room just to wait more . Kept asking for the the doctor and I hearing “ she’s coming “ been hearing that for 5+hrs . So I just walked out , what’s the point in paying taxes and having insurance. This place is ridiculous. If you wanna die , come here .
This place doesn't even deserve a fraction of a star. My father was taken there in the ambulance. He was on vacation coming from the Philippines and before his trip had a mild stroke and when he got to the Philippines his mind was all messed up. He was being erratic and doing and saying things not normal. He got lost had no medicine, no money, no food, no shoes, nothing. I told the ER what was going on as I am not there so I had to call. I asked if they were going to do an MRI as he had a stroke and clearly something is wrong with his mind and could be pressure or something causing this. They told me no. They said they can't force him to get an MRI and hes saying nothing is wrong. I said I know hes saying that because he doesnt think anything is wrong. He has no clue what is going on. He is there no shoes and summer clothes. That says it all right there. No one in their right mind would be travelling for days with nothing. I asked the Dr to please call his Dr here so he can explain what happen to him and what he wants done, as his Dr here said he needs medical attention ASAP. He said no it doesnt matter what his Dr has to say. Every time I called to check on him I got hung up on numerous times. No one was helpful at all. Attitudes. My father was discharged to roam around again with nothing. What a mess!
The Puerto Rican that are the only Americans are good.
I’ve herd nothing but bad things about this hospital. When my dr told me that she was associated with this hospital, I was a bit hesitant about delivering my baby here. But I could honestly say that the staff’s are lovely, kind hearted and they listen to you. I would definitely have my next child here and I will continue to brag about this hospital. From the security guard who greeted me and the transporter who wasn’t just funny but as well caring and a patient advocate. To the charge nurse, anesthesiologists doctor Alicia Knight Debrady and her team of doctors who works under her and last but not least the surgical technologist who was in the room. I’ve been to one other hospital in Brooklyn (I won’t say the name) and they can’t compete with the care I’ve received here. After I had my surgery, the team that took care of me the following three days were phenomenal. It seemed as though a whole village was taking care of me, from the PCA’s, nurses, nutritionist, Lactation consultants, doctors and housekeeping. I give Jamaica hospital a thumbs up
This hospital is THE WORST EVER , The nurses are RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED They don’t do their jobs AT ALL they just sit around and gossip , The PCA’s hardly ever come to your rooms, they would leave the patients laying in their own feces for about 20-30 min before they even come to clean you. My husband broke his neck and had to do surgery so he was unable to move and feels protected and safe when I’m around but the nurses and the manager on the 3rd floor try their best to kick me out of the hospital everyday. They tell me I can’t stay because usually there are two men in the room & I’m not a male , which is understandable But nobody is in the room with him so what is the excuse? When I’m around i MAKE SURE the nurses answer him when he presses that red button on his remote because if I wasn’t around he will lay in his bed in pain for at least an hour !! When he gets physical therapy I HAVE TO HELP HIM BACK IN THE BED because his nurses are “too busy” to do it (& I’m PREGNANT ! ) I wash him, I wipe his behind after he does #2 I basically do the PCA’s job!! So I’m letting you guys know DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL PLEASE YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED !! ( currently on the third floor & still DISAPPOINTED )
Attentive staff they attempt to provide a top-level of care in spite of constraints the more often you have family there the last day have to stretch their attendants with one on one care. So definitely visit your people in hospitals for the best care. And there's a train station stop right on the corner.
Literally this place never changes. Gets worse with each visit. This time there was a giant cockroach on the waiting room floor. Disgusting. This place poses a health hazard. Gonna look into finding a new pediatrician ASAP.
The service is terrible hospotal is dirty employees are rude and the screening of patients in the ER asking people there persomal medical history out in the open talking loud to patiens and totally in violation of HIPPA.........Never AGAIN Go to Northwell in Queens they are outstanding , clean and professional Absolutely..............
Worst hospital ever! I've been calling them for over a month to put an appointment for a referral. Every time I call I reached no one from radiology department. I left my name and number, they never return the calls. The operators/representatives are beyond rude. They be hanging up the phone on me. I wish there was somewhere I could give 0 star instead of 1 that's how bad they are.
Social worker Melissa is disconnected from patient care with a very obnoxious demeanor for a social worker. Horrible
11418 Jamaica hospital I'm telling you dont come to this naborhood at all. I was held here against my will. This was false imprisonment. Y'all need to be shut down now! Anywhere near Jamaica Queens, is trash. dont come here
Service is not good...some nurse behavior are not acceptable...
The staff is very helpful & friendly.. I always have a pleasant experience..
Waited 6 hours once with a really bad stomach problem and got hospitalized until morning. Staff are slow and aren’t careful, most of their measurements are inaccurate, and in general its just so bad. You see people bleeding through their heads casually strolling through the hospital and staff completely disregard that that is unsanitary and is an issue.
At Jamaica Hospital since 12A.M. on 10/05/19. Medication was put in at 3am for a patient now its 6am and no meds are here. Admin on duty name Iannarone was called at 4:45A.M. and did not show until 5:53 P.M. She did not show empathy for a patient that's been here for 6 hours transferred from Flushing Hospital where CT Scan and X-Ray were already done. All she said was it sounds like you want to be discharged. I said no we need to know the next step, meds hasn't been delivered for 3 hours. She left and never followed up. Definitely a very bad 1st experience. Nurse Loutan was trying his best to help everyone but you can tell it was a lot and unfortunately this speaks to leadership and how they treat their employees.
I would rather die than ever subject myself to the horrendous staff and disgusting conditions at their ER, especially OB/GYN. The women’s health center is the only reason this ridiculous excuse for a hospital deserves 1/2 a star. Last night, I went to the ER, against the better judgement of my family. IT TOOK 7 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO FINALLY SEE ME and another 2 hours, to gather my results; I was told that I have a cyst and lymph nodes in my stomach (that’s been cramping for a week, rendering me unable to function properly) and was told to “take Motrin, it’ll go away by itself.” Which, would’ve been fine, if that wasn’t the only fucking thing that was said to me. When taking off the needle they’d inserted into my arm, which was bleeding out of the tape, the nurse put a huge piece of gaw and a bad piece of tape over it. It came off, within a few seconds and I waited 20 minutes for a fucking bandaid. I went to the front desk to file a complaint, they said I can’t speak to anyone, they wanted to give me a blank sheet of paper. At this point, 4 people are surrounding me and I feel like I’m going to have a panic attack, I relay this to the ER LVL1 desk and one woman frowns and says to me “are you sure? You don’t seem agitated.” That’s because I’m about to faint, asshole. I run out, to get air, sit down and relax myself. The same cunt nurse who refused to get me a fucking bandaid ran after me, grabbed my arm (bitch, no) and said wait, this is updated, it’s a prescription for Ibuprofen. WHAT THE FUCK. Now, it’s a few hours after, as I didn’t get home until 5:30 in the morning and I’m more sick—I’m sure a caught something from the many women they had projective vomiting and coughing all over each other—and more in pain than I was before. DO NOT BRING ANYONE YOU LOVE HERE. If you want someone to die, you should bring them here.
Worst hospital ever. It’s worst than a hospital in a third world country . It’s no American people that work here a bunch of foreigners that don’t know what they are doing. They talk play and pretend to work . Only take care of the foreigners they know. I’ve been ignored the whole time I’m here . CLOSE THIS HOSPITAL DOWN NOW !!! IT AINT SPIT !!! TRUMP 2020
The worst hospital I visited in my life.doctor and the stuff both are irresponsible.they don’t care about the patients.they just busy themselves.everything look nasty and they wait you 5 to 6 hour for nothing and also send you a big bill.everybody should fired and send them to school for how to treat people.they don’t even deserved a star.
Please, just don't go here. It's rated 2.3 stars for a reason
This has to be the worst hospital I have ever visited in my life. We are from The UK and arrived Asan emergency.. it was so dirty it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Patients were everywhere outside the toilets, near reception there was just bodies everywhere. No one had any privacy. The nurses had no idea what they was doing and to top it off they sent us to a pharmacy the next day to collect our medication and they had forgot to send it.. kept hanging up when I called for them to re send the prescription. Better off on the streets than here
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I waited 5 hours for them to give me Claritin and tell me to go to an allergist. No blood tests, nothing. Go to LIJ. HORRIBLE.
We brought my cousin in. She went into early labor. She was loosing alot of blood. The labor and delivery doctor Dr Wong he think fast and did what he had to do to save the baby. The whole entire staff was great. Only problem is the department needs alot of cleaning. It smell real horrible.
The nurses here are awesome! They put up with so much and they work hard! My mom hurt herself pretty bad and the ER was crazy but she got the care she needed. This place has a bad rep but my experience with my mother was surprisingly and thankfully positive.
This hospital Brought A Wonderful President To The Beautiful Nation It's Inside
One of the worst hospital ever.Don't come anymore.
Would not send my worst enemy here. No stars Shameful and criminal how understaffed it is No one knows what's happening
The sevive here is superb!!!! Really great medical staff!!! Dr. Lex you are the best, a job well done!!! I really think the world needs more caring professionals like you, you did an awesome job!!!!
Am just sick and tired of this Sick Bed,i wanna go home am missing my HUSBAND
If you hate someone and want them to not get better, bring them to this hospital. This should not be called a hospital, it should be called death row.
Presently at the hospital, my dad in ICU and only 3 nurses in the blasted ICU and tons of patient need assistance. Worst hospital ever m.
Very fast paced hospital. The nurse taking care of my mother was very rude, and the hospital location has no parking. I will most likely not use this hospital unless extremely necessary.
The people here or very nasty and rude the service was horrible I had to be on top of the staff for my results they hang up on me when I was trying to get my prescriptions changed to a pharmacy of my choice I would not recommend this place to even an enemy
I would give a no star rating if possible. My “care” at Jamaica Hospital was mediocre at best. The facility is just as disgusting as the medical staff from the reception desk to the actual physicians. It was so bad that I left and went to another hospital for care. I disputed the E/R charges, for them to argue back that the “care” that I received was satisfactory and necessary. WHAT CARE DID I RECEIVE? I WALKED OUT! I’ll pay your stupid fee, but I will never, ever again go to this hole-in-the-wall hospital and absolutely refer anyone and everyone that I know to go anywhere else. It was so dirty and dingy that I didn’t even want to touch anything, let alone sit down. ZERO STARS ACROSS THE BOARD!
Nurses and doctors are fast, concerned and cordial. Aseptic bed and restroom. Recommended for emergency service.
My sister left the rehab unit on Friday afternoon: I was back in the ER just 5 hours later. We both experienced a kind, professional staff, an excellent trauma center and a dazzling diversity of medical professionals. The infrastructure may be dated, but the techniques used were up to date. The food seems homemade, the blankets were pretty sparce, but it still worked out. The docs were extremely attentive and listened well. A good place to get better.
We were recently at Jamaica hospital because my baby had a seizure, the nurses and doctors (specifically medical student michelle) were all so kind, helpful, informative and made us feel safe. To be honest when the EMTs told us they were taking us to Jamaica hospital because it was the closest one I practically begged them to take us to another hospital because of previous bad experiences but the nurses and doctors at 2 SOUTH are truly god sent, thank you so so much for taking care of my daughter and making her feel better and making my husband and I feel safe. We’re forever grateful. God bless you all!
Emergency rooms are crazy I understand. But if I'm talking to the doctor as a translator for a family member that lives with the patient why would you try to kick me out. The doctor doesn't know any Spanish. Get me a Spanish translator security! But no after I tell them I will leave after the doctor doesn't need me for translation you still trying to kick me out. It's not my fault ER has a lot of people but be understanding that some are there to translate and will leave after. Then when I'm trying to leave the hospital entirely I can't go back to just tell my family member we are leaving for the night so to tell the patient goodnight. Security tells me to call them. Mmm hello, hospitals don't have the best network. I just have to go back and tell her let's go. And once I ask if someone on his staff from inside could tell her to come out so we can leave he says no. First you kick me out and now you don't want me to leave. Worst experience I've had in a hospital.
On June 13, 2019 at about 10:30am I was supposed to travel to Florida to visit my best friend when I became ill in the plane and needed to be transported to an ER, one of EMS personnel told me that it was going to be Jamaica hospital I was in a state of panic as I heard from others that it was one of the worse hospital in Queens, my experience proved otherwise. The ambulance ride. EMS staff was caring, compassionate and professional, the intake personal, the security guard, the vascular tech, the nurses, the doctors went above and beyond to make sure that all my needs were met. I want to express my gratitude to all of you who contributed to my prompt recovery. May GOD continue to bless you all.
I would honestly rather die then go to this hospital. This is the worst hospital in n.y!!! Whoever put 5 stars for this hospital is on crack or works there or both. They just care about milking your insurance. There's no actual treatment. Doctors and staff are severely uneducated actors pretending to know what they are talking about.
Horrible. From the emts to the doctors. Please don't go there with an emergency, you'll die waiting.
They prescribe you medication , and you can pick it up in the pharmacy downstairs of the Hospital.
This place is a disaster. Don’t go here.
Hospitals usually have to everything right to get 5 star review. Yes, this one pretty much checked all the boxes. Nurse Debbie (6th floor, Room 628) was the best of all. She is an ultimate role model for any nurse to follow. She worked long busy night shift, met my mother's (patient) requirement, but never was short of beautiful smile. Definitely helped my mother a lot to recover from her illness. Thank you, Debbie!
No words how to describe on having worst moment and how staff made you feel everything going be alright.
We were taken there after husband had chest pains while changing planes at JFK. It is certainly no frills, but everyone has been very professional, thorough, and helpful. Communication among personnel is lacking, though. We've had to tell his long, involved story so many times its ridiculous.
Fast and great service Mike from transport and the rest of the ER staff was great got images fast and results quickly 5 stars !!
The worst medical center in NYC they don't really know what they are doing. I took my aunt to the EMR and they din't even touch her after 7 hours we waste over there and they told her that nobody over there speak spanish I don't really understand what kind of "people" they got working over there. I never thought that I could find a crab service like this in NYC. When worse come to worst Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is the spot
Please dont ever go here. The nurse never listens to you. They just wants to make money. By giving blood test and fluid etc. They want to keep you as long as possible so they can make more money. After their treatment I am feeling more bad than before. The doctor and nurses dont have any clue what to do.
My dad was there for few hours and does not speak English. Had to call the hospital and Faith ansewrs the phone and does paper work to check out people from the hospital, was really nice and helped me talk to my dad to comfort him while I was on my way a flying from Orlando to NY cuz this was an emergency ,all the staff were friendly. The hospital is not great as the once we have in FL. Thanks Faith
The 4th floor Nursing department is very rude and uncaring. They neglected my father's care while is staying in room 402 on April 25. My father was diagnosed with GDS autoimmune disease where he lost all strength from his legs and arms. He asked the nurse to feed him. He was told "do it your self" when then know that he cant move. I can after few hours after he was served food and saw that the food was sitting in front of him open and cold. Just imagine that the food is in front of u and u cant eat it. And u r extremely hungry. He just came to When he asked to be helped to urinate he was also told rudely "You do it your self".
From personal experience and intimate knowledge with numerous medical institutions, the general increasingly degradation of medical study, practice, and health professionals at every level of specialty; from collusion among DAD, AMA, the general tactics of insurance demands, in addition to patient overload, understanding of nurses, and so forth, I avoid this place like the plague. When I feel the need for quick, sane ER or extended hospital stay, I make arrangements to be brought to LI JEWISH in Forest Hills where my PCP has attending privileges. One good aspect of JAMAICA HOSPITAL (or so Im told) it is the choice place for airport casualties in numbers as its location sits equidistant from both airports in Queens...no small thing. With an eagle eye toward detail, I can say that the supportive staff of janitors, patient transport, et al. is superb.
This Hospital has to be the worst hospital in New York. I went there because I was in pain. The pain was so bad I was crying, couldn’t sit and could barely walk. The staff in the ER are uncaring & and rude. I stated I was in a lot of pain n still they didn’t care. They need to learn to have compassion! When people go a hospital is because they are sick. Clearly as employees working in the medical profession they need more training.
The absolute worst hospital ever. The nurses are nice. But the doctors and other staff are extremely rude and disrespectful. And the hospital only cares about money. You can be dying but the moment they see u wont be able to cover expenses they kick you out. They kept my husband longer and couldnt explain why, but kept telling him because he has excellent insurance he gets covered for everything. One doctor said he was fine and could go home. Another doctor said no , he needs to run test. When i tried to ask this doctor more questions he rolled his eyes at me and put his hand in my face. Do not ever go there.
A mistake was born here, with a last name rhyming with 'dump'.
It is the WORST hospital in Queens. I wish I can give 0 stars. I have heard this was the worst hospital that lets their patients die but now I went through my own experience and can confirm it. Their ONLY interest is charging your insurance. Staff and doctors are very unprofessional with no etiquette or human value to treat their patients. The emergency room is DIRTY with flies inside where there are gloves and other medical Utensils.
I do not recommend going to this hospital. My whole family and I has had bad experiences at this hospital.
I had good experience with this hospital. Very good for Jamaica area.
I love Jamaica Hospital because it has provided great medical services to my youngest daughter who has a history of serious health problems. The doctors and nursing staff has brought my daughter back to good health on numerous occasions and they continue to provide excellent medical services for her continuing health care needs.
Worst experience ever, careless attention and over charges fees, I will make sure this place is not recommend to anyone. Just sad experience
All staff and doctors here should be fired! They are rude, unprofessional, and let’s not talk about the actual medical service 3 hours in the emergency room no nurses no doctor in sight! Went up to the counter inquired about the status. I said have been here for 3 and 1/2 hours and the receptionist said “okaayyy?” What kind of emergency care or any type of care is this... a man ahead of me screaming in pain after waiting for 4hours was told to call the ambulance and go to another hospital if he cannot wait. Horrible!
HAD ISSUES & THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED: I had a major problem with the Nursing staff, literally so called educated nurses who are suppose to follow the rules of the hospital and don't. The hospital has its rules, clearly stated in their websites and on their bulletin boards, however the nurses they all will pay the prices as a unit because every nurse in that floor had the ability to correct the other nurse and never did once! I will not tell you the complete story, however just know do not stay shut, complaint to the proper channels, in my case I simply made a complaint in their website and one day later the director contacted me directly and fixed the problem, he offered me an apology and accommodations which we(wife and I) are truly thankful.
The worst bottom of the hill hospital, very unpersonable, liars too brought my grand child with a nerve tooth problem squinting going to his head at about 8:30 in the morning as an emergency front desk told me we are next and about 10 people were called we were not next when I go to the window she decided to clarify that he’s next for an emergency doctor and that people with sppointments go next. This is a child he should have priority and they are walking around like all is fine. His tears was coming down his eyes and the nurse says they are at lunch now he would be called at 1. I’m not use to this type of gutter treatment because for myself I go to NY Presbyterian Cornell or Mount Sinai where everyone is not just a number. This is the lowest service I have seen especially for a child too in an urgent critical state. Hasn’t even been called for exrays and it’s about 5 hours later.
Do not come here! 3 hours in the ER. I had trouble breathing and itching all over. Am pergnant and covered in hives. I had an allergic reaction to something I ate. When a nurse finally got to me, they mix up my samples with another patients. I had to take all the test again. After I left a nurse called me an hour later. I refuse to go back but she sent a prescription to my pharmacy.
This was the dirtiest hospital I've been to in America. The floors were covered in dirty and random liquids. The bathroom had blood in the sink and the staff were rude. I was in the ER for over 5 hours before I got to see a doctor. After this two minute check-up they took another 2 hours to release me. I wouldn't wish this hospital on my worst enemy. The police keep wheeling in handcuffed people in to receive care as well.
This is great medical place in New York. Staff here very helpful and clean. There is a subway inside the hospital, E train available here, van wyck subway station help distant patient come here directly. There are some food store and shops around this place helps to find food. Some buses like q41, q24 etc near the hospital made this place more convenient to people.
So far it is a worst hospital I've ever seen. Came with my child by ambulance with crazy stomach pain. She was screaming all the way but EMT's were more interested in her insurance information not her condition. Now sitting in waiting area for almost 20 minutes. She is in a constant pain but no one seems to care. Got forbid coming to this hospital.
Worst hospital ever!! Do not come to this hospital for an emergency. They have you wait for hours to be assisted and cared for and the staff members are very rude. They do not follow the rules and provide excellent care towards patients. This place is very dirty and id rather give no stars if i could. Go to LIJ if in queens area.
Dont go here they kill people instead of healing when i call 911 ems came and they dirvert my call from a heart attack which i should a gone to ER they sent me to different department has nothing to do with Heart. They cover them self so when you file a report theirs no evidence.
Place sucks took to long in ambulance 50 minutes and guy and girls didn't no what the hell say doing they didn't no how take blood pressure and the hospital f.... dirty and the staff f..... lazy don't go there my advice u better of dead
Nami broke a bone. —July 22, 2019
This is one of the worst Hospitals in NYC
The worst hospital EVER ! How the hell is this place still up and running ? The ER Is basically where you go when you have 5+ hours to spare while being in pain . These people sit around talking and gossiping like hs kids rather then seeing patients
My daughter had her baby here. The nurses were very patient, especially Nurse Ruth. Thanks so much Nurse Ruth you are awesome. After reading the reviews and i was very skeptic when we went in but those wonderful nurses and midwives made the experience a good one.. High five and thumbs up to the L&D ward.
This is the worst hospital ever , they are so inconsiderate even in labor and delivery
Doctor Roc She should be
My Papa was born here @therealdonaldtrump
The nurse was good but the hospital never sent my prescription to CVS which I never received
Dr Thum in the ER is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Holds herself on some sort of platform like a diety like most typical self involved MD. Talks to first responders like the “help” and won’t acknowledge them directly like we’re somehow benieth her. I asked her a question directly and she would only answer her nurse as an intermediary to give me the same answer I had just asked her. I guess I’m not a human being in her eyes. Her staff was support staff was great.
Its a very bad experience in Jamaica Hospital emergency unit. My Dad cut his finger badly and it's bleeding badly too. But while try to talk with RN she said tromacenter is very busy. Your Dad have to wait for his call. So I asked her again he is bleeding so she said we will call you. Have a sit. It's been 1 HR still counting.
Gave birth here in 2016. Black women please steer clear of here! I was rushed into a c-section and I’ll never forget the look on one of the white assistance face when they laid me down for my c-section. It was a look of disgust. They were absolutely unfriendly and cold! Even the anesthesiologist was trash. They scribbled my child’s name on his name plate just so haphazardly. Didn’t even fill it out completely. They gave him a hep B shot when I told my doctor I didn’t want him to have any shots and they also gave him formula even though I was exclusively breastfeeding. This place should be shut down.
Go here if you don’t care about your health or support trump
This hospital produced the greatest president in modern history MR. DONALD TRUMP...
Worst hospital ever doctors are rude.brought my daughter to the pediatric Er department and I checked in at approximately 1:30pm with 2 persons in front of me 4 and 1/2 hours later I'm still there with like 5 people that came after me left before I even know what's going on with my child smh worst place ever doctors are rude the only nice lady that was there was one of the nurse whom tried to help but couldn't really do much Plz and I say Plz go somewhere else..
Worst hospital i have ever been to. Due to injury in an auto accident, my sister and her 3 children were taken here by ambulance. After being assessed, which took well over 1.5 hrs, they were forced to wait another 2 hours until being seen by a doctor. The doctor then asked a couple of questions and sent everyone home with asprin and ice. Worst experience of my life. Children crying of pain/discomfort and they were force to wait for approx 3.5 hrs; then no tests or xrays were taken and all staff lacked any semblence of compassion. I only wish Google gave an option for negative stars. This hospital is a disgrace to American healthcare.
I came here for work purposes. First off it's located in a Very busy area off the Van Wyck Expressway. The entrance is disgusting theres no electronic door or evolving doors. So many people entering by opening the handels on the door. The Ambulatory Care/ lobby area, has no air conditioning and the seats are grounded , trash bins are outdated and dirty and the womans restroom is poorly maintained. Theres no janitor on sight and the restroom had no toielt paper and the sinks were dirty and you had to touch the faucet knobs to turn on the water . I don't understand how a Hospital this dirty has Pediatric on Suite A exposure to population of many people and sicknesses. Its unethical for this hospital to remain open and giving care. Only positive this i can say is their employees are respectful.
If it was possible to give negative 5 star I would. They take your money and waste your time and make you suffer instead of helping. And that's just in the ER. Nurse act like they are the doctor. If a hospital in new york is like this God help the rest of the world.
That hospital should be close as soon as possible...I waited for more then 5 hours and then I told them how long do I have to wait then they was like we can’t do nothing we have lot of people to take care & then one doctor was like here’s the door if wanna go then just go..I recommend to all ppl don’t go that hospital coz it’s gonna make you more worst..they just gonna make u wait & it doesn’t matter if u wait 5 hours or even 10 hours...worst hospital ever seen in my life
It's a city run hospital, close to transportation and it's a level 1 trauma center. The Jamaica Van Wyck station is 500 feet away.
