The nurses were great but the communication between staff and doctors left everything yyo be desired. Want to get any rest while you're yhere? Don't count on it. Went there for a simple 30 minute surgery and was scheduled for a morning time slot was finally wheeled off to surgery just before 6:45 PM! Housekeeping making rounds in the middle of the night and vitals and blood work can't seem to TRY to work in conjunction with one another so you can get a bit of sleep. Worst experience I have EVER seen had with a hospital in my life. Wouldn't send my neighbors cat to this facility! Save yourself some major aggravation and ho somewhere else. I know I will be if the need arises again.

The rudest staff under staffed they treated me as if I was only a number

Seth Lindley

Went to the emergency room for an infection and was met with prompt and friendly service.

My father in law was treated with the utmost compassion and professionalism. The staff from Dr. Jones, nurses Rebecca, Tiffany and Alicia were excellent. Care coordinator Leah did a fantastic job. Tech Justin was spectacular. Caring, patient and very understanding. What a great experience as good as being in the hospital could be.

Customer service at ER is terrible your better off going to los alamos with the wait they make and the front desk was rude

Patricia Salazar

Ronald Jimenez

Waited 4 hours to be seen.

Dr. Connaughton was condescending and arrogant. She didn’t listen to any patient concerns because she already made her mind up about what was wrong. Absolutely terrible.

Super disappointed in the children’s clinic! My daughter got labs ordered and done here. I went to pick up a copy of her WCC and one of her labs came back abnormal and no one bothered to call and let me know. Never bringing her back here again!!

On a recent visit to Northern NM, I needed an emergency appendectomy. The care and honest personal interaction I received at Presbyterian Española was phenomenal. Thank you to the ER staff, Dr. Hough, and all the nursing staff in recovery. God bless your efforts.

Mary O'Brien

The staff is compassionate and caring. They work hard and do their best to treat you quickly and are thorough. A much MUCH better experience than I had at St. Vincents.

Waiting over 1 and a half hours in the emergency waiting room and still haven’t seen a doctor. Not many people here when I arrived but waiting room filling up now. Seen people walk out tired of waiting. At times waiting room smells like cigarette smoke. Okay two hours thirty minutes now.

What a hardworking and attentive ER team, got the best care ever from a nurse called Kim. She was super caring and wicket smart. She was able to calm me down during a very difficult and stressful time, while giving me excellent nursing care. I felt I was in safe hands with the entire team. What hard-working folks all around who are committed to giving their best! Thank you all for serving our community!

Was in ER room. Dealt with the meanest Dr. I ever worked with. It seems her name was Elizabeth..blondish hair in a bun, glasses, blue yes. She did not respect me or anything I said. Tried to move a leg that was frozen and could have ripped soft tissue. Pumped me full of drugs and did not inform me what they were. I had 3 heavy duty sedatives all at once including Fentynol. I would not have agreed to that but was not given a choice. I found all this out after I was doped up. She was rude and snooty and snarky. Went to x-ray and the tech, Rueben, tried to put his hand on my thigh to push my knee down straight..knee could not go straight, and again, he could have done great damage. I had to yell at him to get him to stop. Rad techs are NOT allowed to do that strategy. I know for 100% sure. Horrible experience. One ER nurse was lovely and wonderful. Wish I could tell you her name.

My first ER doctors FAIL My second ER Doctor NAILED IT But those who are team members in the hospital, only held up at 80%. Had it been a full team effort it would have been perfect but those few wrecked what others achieved. Doesn't anyone there have the balls to either straighten them out or fire them?? Anyways I gave my Doctor the honorary title "DOC" for outstanding treatment, I my world DOC is the highest honor and a person you would give your life to protect, plain and simple!!

In town for a funeral and happen to be 8 months preg. Went into labor and delivery with so much pain and let me say for the town being "scary and old" the hospital was one of the best I've ever encountered. I ended up passing kidney stones and contractions and spent two days here. The nurses barbi, Stephanie and Melanie in l&d were amazing and meant for their job. I couldn't thank them enough for the support that was given. Not one time did I feel like a bother . Thank you !!

Had the worst experience here. Gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Treated awful!! Nurse staff was rude not all just some. Felt like my questions were dumb questions when i asked. Being a first time mom should not feel like the questions she asks are dumb.never go here to give birth !!

Anastasia Jacquez

Gave birth to both of my sons, 4 years apart and my babies were well taken care of as was i. On another note my daughter just recently needed to be seen in the er and the doctor there was amazing, very professional but playful with my daughter which helped her not be scared, I love this hospital, Los Alamos is a whole different story, very dirty rooms especially in the the birthing center, the nurse tried to reuse someone's baby monitoring straps on me very gross. The birthing center bathroom were very dirty and not cleaned between patients. er staff in los Alamos is rude, and no bed side manners. Not a place to take children and have them be comfortable.

Emergency room is terrible, leora the nurse brushed off a broken bone to go flirt with the other nurse. Blew me off with ibuprofen an discharged me. Went to Santa Fe got x-rays and confirmed it was a broken bone.

Joe Joe Luna

Took my son there yesterday for a physical. Great staff and was not a long wait. My 13 year old son was born here. But my also lost a son prematurely here August 2013. Dr Malik did everything he could do and still thought he could make it but our son was just five days from being viable to the insurance company. Dr Malik wanted to fly my son and I to Albuquerque but the insurance did not want to cover it cause he wasn't considered viable. We told them that if we decided to let him go we wanted to spend time with him while he was alive but they pulled the plug and brought him back dead. It has been hard to deal with going back there. If it was not for Dr. Malik I would not of ever gone back by choice anyway.

Worst place ever! Very rude and unprofessional staff!! Went in for cough and other symptoms. They gave me a chest xray .and that was it , they checked nothing else on me! Then they tell me its cause my house is to dry !? Like really! Won't go back to Espanola! All stick to Los alamos!!!!!!

If I could give it a no star I would. Rude staff, yelled at my young children 2 and 5, waited in the e.r AFTER being triaged and sent back for 5 1/2 hours, when i inquired how much longer the wait is, i was met with rudeness and sarcasm. Will never return here again. This place needs new employees with empathy and sympathy rather than being mean and rude to children

Two thumbs way down for the condescending and poor customer service given to me. #1. I called to find out info on an upcoming appt and spoke to a not very knowledgeable young woman, so i let her know id call back later when other staff were in. Later that afternoon, I called again and got the same young woman on the line. I asked her for their fax number and she asked who the patient was so i stated my name. Not realizing it me but thinking someone was calling for me, she starts saying how i was crazy to think they could help me when i havent turned in all my paperwork and on and on. I was shocked. I just asked to be transferred, i had been so sick i wasnt up for an arguement-all i wanted was help. #2. Dr. Houghs office Area 4: The rudest service anyone could recieve has to be by the short chubby lady with black wavey hair, bangs and glasses. She is condescending, rude, not helpful, not caring, not patient or customer service oriented by any means. She has NO business working with sick patients who need kindness and understanding while being worried about their health and trying desperately to just be seen by a doctor. She would cut me off while, i spoke, she condescendingly spoke in hospital terms (i am a business major, not in the medical field). She gave off a bad vibe and showed no interest in helping or steering towards a positive outcome. Just 3 days later, i was taken into the care of Christus St Vincent for emergency surgery and was treated wonderfully and cared for. I am so thankful that there was another place i could entrust my health with. I will NEVER step foot again or recommend Espanolas Presbyterian to anyone. Go to Christus St Vincent if you want to get your health and life back.

I would rather die in Santa Fe or Los Alamos ER than to live at the Espanola ER. It is the rudest staff and make a long story short my Grandma was seen there with a broken arm and they sent her home with Ibpofen and still had massive pain St. Vincents fount it was fractured, another time they sent my uncle home with a stroke and back in 2008 my Aunt was seen there for chest pain and they sent her home with acid reflux. Espanola Hospital needs to close down!

I just needed some X-rays for my doctor in Chama. They worked me right in and were very friendly. I left with report and X-rays at time promised. I left with a very good impression of the hospital staff. It is good to know we have a creditable regional hospital. Would use for emergency and support services for sure.

Our encounter with Kim in triage was horrible, if you don't like your job or people, leave. She yelled at my grandmother and was generally rude. The rest of the ER and hospital staff were wonderful! Always trusted!
