Don't go to the emergency room. Doctors can't be bothered with you. Nurses are RUDE.

Kelly took me to get a ct scan an she was amazing nice an kind even under the pressure of other patients. The actual ER doctor not sure his name was rude an made rude remarks like i wasnt aware of how im feeling an what body parts connected to what. Other then that kelly made it well worth tbe wait the lady who checks you in was very sweet an caring as well i always come here i usually get amazing care

I cant believe the odassidy this emergency room has to doing nothing and not even caring about making people wait to be treated until their shift ends. My wife has heart issues and got woken up with sharp pains on her heart so we come to the er refferal by the nurse line and they would normally for heart chest pain do an ekg right away and help . They made her wait with no ekg and then told that she needs to wait until next shift for someone to come treat and look at her . Sitting here freaking out in the mean time is unacceptable and dont come here if you love someone because they dont care . While they are all in there circle laughing making jokes not giving a dam.

Went to the ER because I believed to have tetanus from a cut wound. They refused to treat me for it and sent me home. I went somewhere 3 weeks later because the symptoms kept getting worse and was tested positive for tetanus. I’m so angry that they played with my life like this and would not even take the time to test me professionally. Discouraged and still in a lot of pain and they could have helped instead of telling their was nothing they could do. Ridiculous

The care my husband received was adequate. The only complaint is that when he asked for help with the bathroom and pain meds, the nurse hadn't shown up in an hour so we managed on our own. His room was stifling hot and the mini air conditioner didnt work and we were told they dont work in any of the rooms. It's only the beginning of June right now so I cant even imagine how hot it would have been later in the summer. This hospital definitely needs some major upgrades. Nurse Kelli in the ER was AMAZING!!!!!!!

Love the staff here!

Last week one of my twin boys had an ear infection and was screaming in pain. It was about 8:30pm or 9:00pm. We got to Lovelace Westside ER and everyone was so sweet and understanding from start to finish. We were in and out in less than an hour. This week my other little boy had the same symptoms but this time in the early morning. We went in and again were treated amazingly and quickly. It's so nice to know that no matter what time we need to be seen we can count on Lovelace to be consistent, efficient and kind. Thank you to all the staff!

Candace Luce

Staff was nice when they remembered me. Ct forgot me for 3 hours and now I'm at my primary to get my follow up and I've been here 2 hours waiting for the ER to send over my ct scan. Ridiculous that I'm waiting when I'm not even there.

Margaret Wallace

Always quick, dependable, quality care

Went to the ER with a pregnant wife having cramps and bleeding. Lovelace ER took their sweet time calling us back ( definitely longer than an hour ), only to be put in a little room waiting for an actual Dr. then upon arrival the doctor didn’t know what to do. So we had to wait for OB/GYN that was off duty. By the time they came in and got an ultrasound. They could not find a heartbeat and proceeded to clear out my child. Oh but the bad news does not end there, she had to go through an epidural for the procedure. The anesthesiologist damaged a nerve in her back and we’re also pretty sure they dropped her off the table or wheelchair. Lovelace? More like loveless. Murderers

ER states 21 minute wait. I waited 2 hours to be taken back to a room. Patients with a cold were triaged ahead of me, then they spent 5 hours waiting on the lab result. A nurse practitioner saw me and instructed me not to drink fluids. I asked her about if fluids. She wanted to check the blood work I was dehydrated as I had been throwing up the night before. Still no if fluids although they had placed an iv in me. After 7 hours in the ER at Lovelace west side. I was told I can go home I asked the nurse practitioner why I had t received iv fluids. She said my blood work was normal and that I didn't need anything I am very disappointed in the ER at Lovelace west side and have lost faith and trust in their ability to care for patients. I am never going back

Andrea McCauley

Worst ER ever, I went there cause I was uncontrollably vomiting, they gave me a banana bag, I quickly started getting a fever... once they removed the banana bag I didn’t see them for four hours, and they didn’t even discharge me with the correct temperature on my paperwork. Nor told me what my lab test results were....

Yesterday I had the umbilical hernia surgery as Lovelace Westside Hospital. Maybe it was just my lucky day but I received, in my opinion, the best treatment I have ever received from a hospital so far. Starting with Brandon in the check-in process, he was so patient to answer any questions I had about the billing, and even got on the phone with the health insurance company for me to make sure that the procedures were covered. Then there was Ute. A very wonderful specialty pre-op nurse that took the extra time and attention to make sure I was comfortable while she did all the pre-op work, IV, etc. She was so nice to talk with me and my wife and help us feel comfortable even though we both look nervous, and shared with us the part of her life of how she became a nurse and where she was from. She is such a good person and you can see it in her heart how she enjoys to help people. Also an additional thank you to Juanita, the surgical systems nurse who also took time to listen to us and showed concern for us. And there was Aaron. He is the post-op specialty nurse that really made us feel comfortable after the surgery and took time to explain the post-op procedures. He was so personable, and even shared with us how he became a nurse. I have such great respect for him of what he gave up to become a nurse. He is very good-hearted person and you could see that he enjoys helping people. And even if they don't read this review, a special thanks goes out to my surgeon doctor and the anesthesiologist doctor, for stopping by, answering my questions, explaining the procedure, and just showing good attention do me in my wife. Like I said, maybe it was just a lucky day for me, but I don't feel that I received the same bad treatment that others have. Maybe they've already let those people go and replace them with better people, I don't know. The picture is me trying to be funny. My face was not reflecting how I felt. LOL

My son had an appendectomy and I was very pleased with the care he was given. It's not a good feeling to hand your kid over to complete strangers in the middle of the night to be operated on but Dr. Holmes and the anesthesiologist (I wish I could remember his name!) couldn't have been nicer. They explained everything and I felt confident he was in good hands. The nurses in post-op were great and the nurses in the pediatric ward were so caring and attentive. I feel extremely grateful to all who cared for my son.

I have both hips replaced, have been oh so late treatment after bilateral hip replacements, several lumbar injuries, thoracic, 11-12 compassion fracture, c4-6, 5s-1, ridiculopathy, titanium screw that protrude into but muscles, c4-6 pinched disc, ulcerative colitis, torsion in groin, amongst other ailments. I've been on dilaudid for 8 years, and this establishment neglects to get my pain under control, after explaining that I've been inn pain meds for nearly 16 years these Dr neglects the compassion too get my pain under control... Please help whomever is inn power and influence. I'm tired of suffering at the hands of people that could give a crap less.

Steve Carvalho

My treatment was great the doctors and staff new what to do when I have a problem that's where I'll go

doreen v

It’s been 2.5 hours came in with my son having a 1in split dripping blood on his head the nurse took vitals didn’t bother to check his wound I had to ask for a gauze so blood was not dripping and we’re still just sitting here waiting to be seen.. online it says a 79 min wait??? Stitches are definitely needed hope the outcome is not as bad as this wait! Should have went to Presbyterian!

Joe Abers

My nurse was amazing... The er doc was insulting, rude, her way or the highway.so I had to leave.

When in to the emergency room and ended up having kidney stones. Hurt like hell! Those people Jumped through hoops to give me as much comfort as They possibly could. They were kind and sweet and funny and very very helpful. Thanks to all of you!

Brittany Thompson

Midwives and nurses are amazing! My epidural was a struggle but that's on the anesthesiologist. My delivery was smooth and comfortable there.

This place is wack in my book no doubt wouldnt bring none of my family members her!!

Emilie Wojtowicz

The wait time here was phenomenal. I got called back in 10 minutes. However the wait time in the back is miserable. My first time as a patient at Lovelace while having a recurring condition that’s been treated at multiple other ERs (new insurance caused me to change) and Lovelace treated me terribly. Only twice asked me what my pain level was and didn’t treat the pain. When I needed to be unhooked from my IV to use the restroom there were no nurses to be found and when my wife found them they were chatting and ignored her. Had to get an ultrasound and the tech spent the entire time talking about how the military sexual assault rate has gone up since “they started letting those LGBT people in. They’re not as clean as they act like they are”. Multiple other patients were admitted, see and discharged in a tenth of the time that we were there. Had approximately 5 total minutes of face to face interaction with my doctor and we were there for 6 hours. Go to Presbyterian or UNM. Lovelace is not worth your time or your money if you want some actual treatment and respect.

Barbara Hughes

I was seen at the Sleep Clinic I saw Doctor Z. I cannot spell his name LOL. He was wonderful very nice so was his triage person , however the woman at the front desk - I forgot her name. It started with a K. She proceeded to tell me that she could not accept my medical insurance cards from AARP but instead needed to see my Medicare card and yet it was not correct because it still had my Social Security number on it and then if I didn't get this straightened out I was going to be billed of pocket eventually. So I paid my co-pay which I had to remind her that I owed. Today I called Medicare and they said that all I needed to show them was my AARP card and everything else would have been taken care of. This girl was not only rude but did not know anything that she was talking about .she needs to realize that if she's going to work with people she needs to leave her attitude at home and educate herself on what she needs to input into the computer.

Elle G

Dr. Applebaum is the worst doctor EVER! Doesn’t listen to the patient, couldn’t care less what you’re feeling.

Carin Lamberson

Finding it hard to believe after reading through reviews that we're all talking about the same ER and hospital. I would say I have been to the ER about 5 times in the last 4 to 5 years and each time was seen very quickly. The staff was always very efficient, very kind. 3 or 4 of those times were for extreme knee pain. Medication was given promptly and xrays taken. Referred to an orthopedic surgeon and was seen within 3 days. Needed to total knee replacement and was scheduled in a prompt manner. Had the surgery right there in their hospital. Couldn't have recieved better care. The staff there was amazing...and so kind. Was there for 5 days and honestly could not find one thing to complain about. Light on was answered promptly. Pain medication was prompt. Didn't have much of an appetite but what I ate was very good. Staff very personable and friendly. Seen by a doctor or PA everyday. Before the surgery everything was explained to me thoroughly so I knew what to expect. PT was set up for me by them to begin on my return home...in home PT for 6 weeks. I would give this little hospital & ER 10 stars if I could.

Grady Holmes

I only gave 2 stars because the people here have been pleasant. My biggest consternation at this moment is sitting in the surgical waiting room for a friend who is having day surgery and NOT being able to get a cup of coffee without having to pay for it at on overpriced Starbucks vending machine! Anywhere you turn at a Presbyterian facility there is a place to get a cup of Joe free! Here you are forced to walk to the front of the building and pay 5 times what a normal cup of coffee should cost to an Anti-American socialist POS company!!!! NO!!!!!!

I was very very ill about 4-5 years ago and had to go to the emergency room several times, once I was quarantined even. They were all so very nice and treated me not only with respect, but dignity. The food is better than most places and they have very good staff. It is also clean and has a moist beautiful view so when you leave it almost uplifts you. I love this hospital emergency room. And the doctors are super handsome, just saying.

Gina Miller

Catherine Sadeghnezhad

Matt at the front desk is extremely rude and disrespectful. There is people in PAIN waiting to be seen. You have to be empathetic if you choose to work in the ER. I asked how many people were before us and he said "there is 2 people that are in front and they have been waiting much longer". I was asking so that I could bring my sick grandmother something to eat. I wanted to make sure I had enough time to go and come back. I got irritated and told him that the advertising says the wait time is less than 30 min and he said that's only for advertising that it is not true.

Lara Green

If I could give it a zero I would. My husband is in severe pain been sitting here in the patient room for 5 hours not seen a Dr have been focused to see the Dr. Nurse practitioner Wendy came in never looked at his chart and told him that this is an ER and there's nothing they can do about knee pain and was going to send him home. I asked her what about the dapple test done she said she didn't know that she didn't look at his chart. She left I asked the nurse station if my husband could see a Dr the nurse practitioner came back in very rude and basically told us she doesn't have time for him she has other important patients to see. They didn't do any blood work even though we told them he had cellulitis when his knee started hurting no check on infection no nothing gave him two meds and didn't even get his medical history. Still being refused any treatment or care to find out why he is in severe pain. Most ridiculous care ever. The nurse and charge nurse are nice but no care from the nurse practitioner and no Dr care at all. Sending him home with no teats and no concern why his knee hurts. Will be filing a complaint and if he has something severely wrong will be doing something more!

Terrence Romero

You guys were amazing with my son!

Rebecca Cassanto

This hospital nearly killed me! I went in via ambulance in excruciating pain. I was around 6 weeks pregnant and experiencing severe abdominal pain. They did not give me an ultrasound, just a urine and blood test and sent me home saying I had a UTI and constipation. I could hardly stand up when I tried to leave the room. I kept blacking out and almost fainting in the hallway and they ignored me!! I went home and then I had to call the ambulance again hours later. Come to find out when a different Dr. was on staff and gave me an ultrasound I had been internally bleeding for almost 12 hours due to and Ectopic pregnancy that ruptured my tube. They had to rush me to Women's hospital on Montgomery for Emergency surgery give me a blood transfusion. If I hadn't made it to surgery in just that timing I could have died! ( this is a very long story short!! )

My family tells me the emergency room provided excellent service and care as well as keeping them in the loop. From what I remember I have to agree. That said, hope I didn't have to go back again.

Orical154

Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alex Vigil

Don't fall for it. They are going to make you do every scan under the sun for no reason other than profit. Watch out for whoever you talk to. Subcontracted doctors want to charge you by the visit to "discuss your health". It's a scam. They don't even ask your consent.

Myra Legarda

They are so careless. I hate when I come to a healthcare facility and they just want to get yyou u in and out! They weren’t even busy.

Armin Quedzuweit

The team here is terrific. Just had knee replacement surgery and doing well. These folks are on it.

Alice Martin

This most recent visit, the nurses and doctor that I saw were all very overweight and seemed really bored with their jobs. Doesn't the hospital have any program for helping employees to stay healthy/fit? Also, the nurse weighed me on the bed, but forgot to tell me the weight. When I asked the discharge nurse about it, the weight was higher than it should be (having lost a lot of weight recently). I asked her to weigh me on a regular scale and she did - the weight showed 13 lbs less than the weigh-in on the bed. Maybe those beds do not have accurate scales. Also the doctor never addressed the main reason for the visit, although he listed a diagnosis on the summary. No help at all. This was my shortest and most useless visit to that ER.

Jon Roberts

Completely underwhelming experience. Visited Lovelace Westside due to the suspicion of pneumonia in my 4 year old daughter. We had been referred here by After Hours Pediatrics who called in to Lovelace ahead of time to get us on the radar, so-to-speak. After a fairly quick registration, we went to the patient room and were here for roughly 2.5 hours. During that approximately 2.5 hour stay, we had one Doctor consult with us, one x-ray, and a visit from the nurse. We had to administer our own Motrin to our daughter since it was never offered by the hospital (until just prior to departure from the hospital). The Doctor couldn't have cared less about being there. While I was trying to explain to him our daughter's history and the current condition, he looked out the door of our room no less than 5-6 other times as if he were completely dismissing our discussion. Very rude and can't say I've experienced this before in any other setting. For comparative purposes, I had to take my daughter's twin brother to Presbyterian Pediatric Urgent Care for the very same symptoms as my daughter and on the next day. We were there for an hour max (including registration) and during that time had a consult, x-ray, results discussion and we were done. The Nurse Practitioner was very attentive and didn't have her attention consistently diverted elsewhere. I would not go here again.

I called because I am having allergic. Reaction where my feet are rock soiled and swollen imbreaking out inlittle red bumps my speech is sleared my tongue is swollen im having a real bad pain in my upper and lower right side a ball in the lower side and in the upper side it looks Like its turning black my liwer right side on my back is killing me. But the traige nurse that i spoke with at lovelace didnt even want to hear it and told me to make an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Come to find out I went to Sandoval regional medical and was diagnosed with having a stroke and a infection. Who ever was the triage nurse at lovelace west side needs to get proper training and learn some manners. If she doesnt like her job she needs to go some where else because she is gibing lovelace a bad neme.

Best place ever

worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Wouldn't be going here if my life was in danger

Hands down best smacks for first responders! Love you guys

Nice people, calming atmosphere.

I have been twice. I was seem within the half hour. Treated with respect and taken care of with compassion. Only reason not a 5...dirty bathrooms both times.

Amanda Griego

Was treated by Doctor Debra Federer today in the ER. She was amazing. Very understanding. By far the best Emergency visit I have had in years. I suffer from several chronic illnesses. So I have spent my fair share in ER departments. Will never go to another Hospital again. Thanks for the amazing treatment by every member of their staff today!

Jana Cruickshank

Great staff, clean and fast. Great experience.

Lucy Espinosa

Worse medical and customer service ever dont ever go there

Jumbazzi Jumbazzi

The lab manager there Martha who works for Tricore is a untrustworthy deceiving liar and will do anything to make her job easier and lessen her work load even putting the employees and patients at risk. She needs to be fired from her position immediately.

Brian Freno

During our last visit to the Lovelace Westside ER, the doctor who saw our daughter was unprofessional and so incompetent he couldn't even diagnose our daughter's double ear infection. A nurse practitioner elsewhere was subsequently able to diagnose it in a matter of seconds. I highly recommend going elsewhere for effective treatment and better service.

Areale B.

Horrible staff. I get people hate their jobs but if you hate people then get out of healthcare. I don't want to hear medical professionals talk bad about patients and wonder what they are saying about me when I can't hear them. Complete lack of trust in medical professionals who talk about patients as if they are animals. How can people disassociate so much that they loose all compassion in a field where the basis should be compassion.

Skye Romero

Had my first baby here and had the best care!

Justine Lockhart

Horrible experience if I ever need care I will NOT be coming back to this place! Now I understand that in hospitals you wait but it felt like we had to keep reminding the staff that we were there. They really don't seem to care about anything but standing around chit chatting with one another. Not to mention another patient next to us constantly screaming "help" because they simple would ignore her. Not to mention by the time we received a diagnosis it had to have been the simpiliest yet, something that could have been expressed hours before.

Adrian Chavez

Matt D

Very prompt and thorough service in ER triage. Slow pain management was a detractor, and the ER nurse commenting on how the doctor should have given something more powerful was unprofessional.

Lovelace I am 59 and my work changed to Lovelace I've had the worsted medical care for the last year There Doctor are rude and judgmental. They don't take time to know there new passions

We woke up in scare in horrified terror thinking that We might have had a miscarried 28 week pregnancy. We showed up early morning At about 7:30 in the morning. Our terror quickly changed into extreme excitement being that this was our 7th child and they found his heart beat. They told us we were gonna have the baby. They told me that sense it was so critical that We had to get transported down to the women's hospital, so they told me to meet them and drive myself.I had no problem with that because I wanted the best care for my child and my wife . We had our baby and everything seemed to be OK, visiting him in the NICU every chance I can. I do own a reputable business in Town and I support all my children without any Assistance . Anybody who knows me knows that I stay away from alcohol for the obvious reasons,it doesn't do anything for anybody. I mean obviously wouldn't be good for my 6 children or my family . Somebody had the audacity to call CYFD and report myself saying that they thought that I was intoxicated around my new infant child during the process of his birth. Now I have CYFD involved in my life dealing with These false accusations which are absolutely absurd .. What I don't understand is they all acted so nice and excited for us and for them to go behind our back and make a report that is so ridiculous is beyond me . All our other children were born at a local nearby hospital and I will not ever recommend Anybody I know to deal with this hospital for having a baby, Beware of this hospital ...

Joan Scott

I had been in the ER in my home town, and left in disgust. My son came from ABQ and took me to Lovelace on Golf Course Rd. The ER in Lovelace made my hometown ER look like children playing at being doctors. I was admitted overnight for a procedure that my hometown hospital in the past made me sit on an uncomfortable examining table all night for. Excellent bed -- best night's sleep I've had in years. While IN the hospital overnight, I observed the staff being overextended with an emergency and a hysterical woman (unfortunately the woman was MY roomie). While the general experience was not pleasant, their staff did handle everything with taste, gentleness, and professionalism. Keep up the good work!

Brandy B

Excellent Hospital- clean and friendly staff the service was great!! Really appreciated the nurses, staff and the care there!! Great place asset to the Westside families!

Melissa Glass

Every time I have been here for emergancy room, the staff have been wonderful. Admissions is wonderful and the nurses are amazing.

Brianna Mattia

I would NOT recommend going to this hospitals emergency room. They are completely incompetent!! I have been having some massive stomach issues and weighing 89 lbs now! They first time I went in there for it I explained my situation and told them my primary sent me there like she did. The nurse and doctor accused me of being bulimic!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! What kind of bulimic goes to the hospital begging to put on weight and for help!! So they sent me home, how pathetic. The second time I went I didn't even get seen by an actual Doctor only a cnp. He seemed as if he believed me but I came to find out the next day he completely lied to me about the gastroenterologist. He said he talk to the office, and they said they would be able to get me in on Friday or the beginning of next week by the latest. When I called the office they told me it would've been impossible for him to talk to anybody because the office closes at five. He claims he called between 630 and 7 PM. So that would've been impossible. How can they just lie to you like that? Go to another hospital if you can!!

em

My brother went there for surgery . The staff was very helpful and he had a time to have it done and went right on time. The doctors were amazing. .

These people working here have been nothing but gracious in L&D. Really appreciate that they answered questions directly and with empathy, because everyone is different. I read alot of these negative reviews, and they all have something in common. Victim syndrome. And if you're waiting in an ER "FOREVER" IT IS BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT HAVING A F@*!$NG EMERGENCY. It's a hospital folks, not McDonald's. Smile more, whine less. Salud!

Prescilla Baca

TERRIBLE!! This is the second time I come in here and they do nothing but cause more pain and suffering! Very rude staff!

Had surgery this year and cannot say enough good things! Everything ran right on time, every staff member was friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable.

I had Gastric Sleeve surgery on 10/24/18 here. I was really impressed with the courtesy, professionalism and efficiency of the nursing and tech staff. I had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights and was treated with respect and dignity. My only complaint was it was virtually impossible to get any quality sleep because they kept coming in to get vitals and blood sugar readings, but that's to be expected, I guess. Overall, a very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to be seen there again.

Mayra67 Soto

I was in great amount of pain last night, on my upper abdomen so I had stopped at the ER . The got me in quickly and the nurses were so nice. The doctor was also very kind. They also had to call in a Doctor who lived in Dexter to give me an ultrasound . His name was Richard and he was such a caring kind man . I could tell that he really loved his job and he even told me himself ! I thank goodness for these types of people, people who try to help others fell better ! I truly felt like they all genuinely cared .I also delivered my son here 8 months ago and they were all so helpful and kind as well . I love this hospital .

Please save yourself and go somewhere else. I went to the ER for chest pain and severe body pain. The woman doing the EKG said, "oh I bet you just have bronchitis." They never drew blood. After an hour, the doctor comes in and says I have inflammation of my chest lining. I think they forgot about me because I was waiting for another hour and a half to get my prescription and be released and I could see them just standing around joking with each other and then I finally made eye contact with someone and I heard them say "that's not my patient." A few weeks later I am still experiencing the same symptoms, but worse so I went to Presbyterian ER. They admitted me and I was diagnosed with lupus and had to be in the hospital for 4 days. I am appalled with every aspect of this place. Chest pain is scary and to tell someone "oh I bet you just have bronchitis" is definitely not the way to handle it. Seriously, go to Presbyterian Rust. It's a few minutes down the road from this horror hospital, and you will actually be treated.

21 minutes to see a provider, my hairy ass! Sat in here forever over a sepsis infection and listened to staff stand around and have a good time with each other while ignoring patients.

Ruth Perea

I was seen very quickly. Doctor and nurse and other staff were very friendly. I was very happy with my visit there.

Michelle peake

Day delivery nurse (9-6) was exceptional, Dr Waad made her appearance as the baby crowned, Dr. demeanor was exceptional as well; however, after delivery Dr. Finished her up and was leaving the room until I (mother) asked her about a few things. Dr. did stop and answer any questions. Really? I had to ask? My daughter deserved better. Unprofessional. Maybe my daughter not allowing her student to observe the delivery irritated the Dr.? Regardless, shame on the Dr. Zero care for her patient. Shana and Connie were excellent night nurses, they rest of the night crew you need to fire and start fresh, especially the night tech with the long dark hair. I'm surprised noone has sued you for harassment, her volatile mouth, she really makes your maternity area an embarrassment. Disappointing. All about money, classless. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL OR SW MEDICAL WOMENS CARE!!!!

eddie gurule

This hospital is horrible! My 81 yr old father goes to the ER, and all they do is pump pain killers in him, tell him he’s fine, and send him home! They’ve done this 3 times! He fell, and broke his back one of the times. It happened again today! As I sit here typing this, he’s on the couch shaking, and hallucinating. I’m am going to sue

Crystal S Bustos

Don’t bother. I came in for extreme pain and for my new patient visit they did nothing because I was establishing care. After my follow up they said they had to get an authorization for my insurance before they could perform a procedure and they said someone willl call me to schedule once approved and no one called me. Then I called the clinic several days later and they said no one submitted authorization so they can’t see me. They requested auth and then I finally got scheduled for an appointment only for them to cancel on me a few hours later telling me the appointment was never available. I rescheduled for 3:30pm and when I got there was told I could not be seen because they scheduled me for 3:15pm and it’s up to the provider if they want to see me and they do not because I am late. I am so upset because I have been trying to get taken care of and get birth control and I have been getting the run around since August. I would highly recommend you save yourself the headache and go to another specialist because I can’t keep telling my boss that I have an appointment when I don’t. I am truly disappointed with my care and wish I wasn’t referred here because I am pretty sure I would have been taken care of by now elsewhere. Why should anyone wait a month for birth control alone?

I went to the Lovelace Westside ER late at night due to complications with high blood pressure. The receptionist was extremely professional and checked me in quickly and with a great deal of kindness. After check in, BOOM, things too a turn for the worse. The "doctor" took my blood, put me on an IV, and told me that the results would take 45 minutes. The saline IV was not dripping, it was turned off. 8 hours later, without a single visit from a "doctor" or a nurse, I rang a bell and asked if they could remove the IV so I could go home. They told me that yes, they would remove it. So I waited, and then was forced to remove my own IV, a bloody mess. I went home. Today, I called and asked it they would tell the name of the physician who treated me. They refused, telling me I had no legal right to my own medical records. The guy who checked me in was very sympathetic. When I left, he saluted me. I have no idea what that was about, but it made me laugh. Oh well, just do not take your loved ones to this death trap. Also, I was the ONLY patient in the place. Absolute abysmal example of a failed health care system.

Saved my life. ER doctor professional and thorough. Thank you for being there.

Review for the ER: Not so sure about this place. Went in for a severe knee injury. While the staff was very friendly, and there was little wait, not a single person looked at the injured area. They x-rayed it, iced it and gave me crutches, meds. The part that was disturbing was the lack of looking at the injury, and also here only seemed to be a NP on duty. Not sure I would go back here for a life threatening issue.

Not a great experience. Went in because I was having an allergic reaction to antibiotics prescribed by another doctor. I was prescribed another antibiotic and when I filled the prescription at my local pharmacy, it was flagged due to my allergy to penicillin. Information that was provided to the Nurse Practitioner at the time of treatment. Assuming the NP had a reason for prescribing medication related to a known allergy, I began taking the antibiotic as directed. The following day I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I called to discuss the situation with the prescribing NP but was told that would not be possible. Just another patient lost in the system.

Had two knee surgeries there. Terrible customer service and staff

what a terrible experience. I went into the ER with unbearable back and chest pain as a result of a diviticulus flare. I saw on the mayo clinic site that its common for muscles to become inflamed as a result of an infection like this. It was so painful I could barely breathe. I told each person at er what I thought was happening. no one listened - for 7 hours. once the tests showed it was not a heart attack (which I knew- I'm a very healthy person) I was sent to the back of the bus. I never saw a doctor - only a PA. after 2 pain shots it was clear nothing was working. I asked them to just go to the mayo clinic site and they called me Dr. Google. In 7 hours no one offered me a blanket and rarely checked in except to do a test. I still could not get out of bed without serious pain but they just gave me a script for muscle relaxers and sent me home. No one sat down to explain what was happening or what to do about it. Overall this was a terrible experience and I hope never to go back.

Cleaning lady shakes off dust mop right by people in waiting room and then shakes off the dirty rag next to people's drinks. This is a dirty rag that she just used to wipe down tables and chairs that are loaded with germs.

I had a difficult time at my appointment the medical assistant Angelica was very rude and disrespectful it's not the first time she's been like this I will not return to this location due to her poor attitude and terrible customer service they need to get a new medical assistant

You can tell which reviews are written by employees and which aren't here. The employees give it five stars and write things like "no surgical infections for the past 12 months" (what patient would know this?), and "the government has made it impossible to give competent healthcare, blah blah!" (yeah, yeah-blame the government for all your failings...how novel! Don't you want to run buy his book???). The surgical infection review person also wrote "treat them (staff) with respect and you're sure to get good care", as if you have b.s. with and entertain the staff when you are ill to get competent care. Sadly, it really is a game. The PATIENT reviews here are accurate. It is very annoying to be ill, waiting in a dingy waiting room and having to listen to healthcare workers yuckin' it up about pop culture (it's never about anything abstract, interesting, and/or NON-materialistic), sipping their Starbuck's, and watching some asinine game on a big screen. That's what your insurance company and you are paying for-gluttony and sloth. Sure, they'll feign a bit of interest as long as the fee schedules are in their favor and your insurance company doesn't investigate their ordering a spattering of needless tests (or why they need so many big screen TVs in their hospital). When I went to the ER with a Crohn's flair-up, I was in agony. Seeing that I was only one of two patients in the ER (for the entire length of my five-hour stay), I assumed I'd be seen quickly and taken care of in a jif. Hells nah! The patients will never receive the benefit of an ER not being busy! The staff to patient ratio was like 15:1, yet I lie on that uncomfortable stretcher in pure agony, listening to staff laughing, joking, commenting on the game, and relieving each other for breaks. The smell of their stinky food being reheated was so nauseating. The doctor finally came into my cube, wiping food from his mouth and never introducing himself, but stood nearly six feet away, as though I had leprosy. He asked the routine questions and then disappeared. About an hour later a lab tech came in. She also didn't introduce herself, and was very rough in her phlebotomy skills. She said the results would be available to the doctor in about 20 minutes. Awhile after that, I was whisked off for a chest x-ray with the most annoying, dowdy woman imaginable. She kept addressing me as "honey" and "sweetheart", and used a condescending tone as though I were a baby. When I asked her why a chest x-ray, she answered, "because that's what was ordered." She made it pretty clear I had no choice but to comply if I wanted to part with her disturbing company. Two hours later, a different doctor came in to my cube room and did introduce himself, but he didn't seem too interested since I'd been assigned to him as a leftover. He gave me a prescription for Tylenol, and said I could go. When I asked about the lab work results, he said they weren't back yet, but that they weren't important anyway. Apparently, they were important enough to bill for. My insurance company sent me a statement about this visit a few weeks later, and they billed for all sorts of lab tests- an entire page of billing (both sides!), and of course the negative chest x-rays, which included a fee for the tech and another for the radiologist. Thank God I have insurance! This whole incident made me realize what a sham U.S. healthcare is. As soon as they established that I had insurance, they ordered things I did not need and that were not helpful for anything. I went in there merely to be fleeced, and of course, to catch up on what's happening with the Kardashians and the junk food world.

$12,000 and climbing medical bill when I was there for 2 hours, looked at for 10 minutes, and then sent over to UNMH who kept me for 3 days and actually did something. UNMH bill? $3,000 for care and 3 days of overnight stay on constant IV. Lovelace neglects to inform you that the "doctor" who will be working on you is an independent contractor, not an actual Lovelace doctor, and then bills you separately bypassing your insurance. This idiot is not worth the $10,000/hr he is attempting to charge for his "work" of calling an ambulance to take me to a hospital that will actually do something.

Felipe Mares

I want to thank ALL the staff at Lovelace ER. I had wonderful professional care from my check-in to my discharge. I was well educated on my condition and seen in a timely manner. Thank you all for your help.

Lexi Gates

Worst hospital I have ever went to! The doctors were so cocky and didn’t care about anything. They ask if the medicine would work for me. How would I know? You’re the doctor not me. They acted like they didn’t know anything. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Kimberly Wegner

Loveless hospital on the westside is amazing. they always know how to welcome me an always know how to take of me when I come in. No matter how scared I am. How much pain I'm in. They help. They go beyond to make sure im ok. Comfortable. I rather drive to come here from across town then go to any other hospital in Albuquerque. Best service. Best docs. Nurses. The staff is amazing!!!! Always make me feel great!!.

Amanda Rachau

I delivered here and had a great experience! The nurses and midwives were great! I felt that they were very good about knowing how I wanted my experience to go and did everything to help make that happen. If you are a part of the labor of love you get a steak and lobster dinner for you and your spouse after you deliver, and you also get a mommy massage. Overall I felt well taken care of and thought everyone was very friendly.

nicole perrine

The best service very fast i was so nervpus about going to the hospital but they put me at ease will deffenitly come back here the best

Shaina Trujillo

THE WORST ER I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! It wasn't the atmosphere or even the wait time, it's the staff. Don't waist your time here. I was neglected, judged, disrespected, looked down upon at a vulnerable time that I needed help! I came there for help! If you get Dr. Jeffery Kenyun run for hills! Presbyterian Rust ER took so much better care of me they know how to care for and treat their patients.

I used to like this hospital. I do not know what changed but they got worse. First off if you have anything wrong with you that is complicated that requires more medical knowledge like a chronic illness. Then don't come here. Because you will wait a long time just for a doctor to see you. Make sure to set up frequent appts with your primary. Because the emergency room most likely won't even want to touch you. But they sure will waste your time. They don't know what their doing. I blame our education system. We are 50 in education in this state. At least they can see the patient face to face to ask if they need anything or try to find some comforts while their waiting. Did not even get that here. I think they forgot we were even here. ...

Regina Tooker

Great personal care... I went in for a knee replacement surgery and everyone was wonderful. Looking forward to seeing everyone when I get the other knee replacement!

Danielle Lovato

I am torn writing this because we were in last night and the ER staff was amazing, we came back today because my husband was still in pain and the ER staff was awful. They were rude, disrespectful and just plain out didnt care! Will not be using this ER again

Night of my stay I had a nice medical staff. The morning of discharg the shower knob fell on my toe I scream so loud no medical staffs came to see if I was okay until about 15 minutes to see what happens. When the medical did come to my room the medical staff stated I heard you scream oh let pick up the shower knob and take it away. Everyone's know the hospital cleaning staff clean hospital room each time a patients been discharg. The hospital cleaning staffs had to know the shower knob was defeated and the hospital cleaning staffs not write a repair report for that shower in the room to be fixed.

This facility is a joke. Ive tried to get a hold of someone to let me know whats going on with my blood work. Ive been transferred, hung up on, and told I was going to get a vall back. This has been going on for a couple days now, so save yourself the time and stress and go somewhere else.

Ramona Baca

From the time we entered the ER nurses, doctors, tests and the technicians, surgery, case managers ALL have been attentive and they do there jobs with a smile making the whole experience of being sick a bit easier. Thank you Lovelace Westside Hospital NM hidden

My wife delivered our daughter here. We have 3 kids, all three of them born at different hospitals in the Albuquerque area. This hospital was by far the best. Way better than Rust (which everyone rants and raves about) Best experience I have ever been a part of in a hospital.

Crystal Vik

I have no complaints for the hospital. We didn't have to wait to get in. Majority of the staff were nice, of course there's always that one person but we got the care we needed in a timely manner with no issues. Anyone who wants to point fingers at the hospital needs to realize there are protocols in place for different problems and insurance only allows a certain amount of things to be done immediately as opposed to waiting for prior authorization. And just like any other person mistakes can be made and things over looked. It is not intentional for you to not receive the care you needed. I do not work for them, nor do i know anyone personally that works there. I am just aware of the medical field and insurance.

Kristin Browning

This is the worst ER experiene i have ever had. I went and explicitly said that I was there to rule out an ectopic pregnancy and had my bloodwork with me, I didn't need labs. As the NURSE (not a doctor, never saw a doctor) was taking my blood I said "I have my bloodwork why do you need my blood" she said we just have it just in case. Never consented to bloodwork. Then I went to get an ultrasound (only way to rule out ectopic) and they don't even have a transvag, just a normal ultrasound and they didn't see anything. Which is pretty common for an ectopic but said it was unclear, suggested I wasn't pregnant, and said "see if you're in pain 3 days from now". The nurse actually recommended an MRI

Jane Doe

Even though they are extremely busy, they have attended to my needs in a positive manner. I enjoy going there and plan to, if I have emergency needs. What I have noticed is that there are those who go there to cause problems. I've heard staff stay calm and do what they can, but some can not be pleased.

Kelly Griffith

Unprofessional doctors, lack of sense of urgency, lack of compassion from the doctors and nurses. Some nurses were great but the doctors were horrendous here. Most of the doctors were incompetent or didn't seem to want to help. My provider was so unprofessional she asked my wife if I was an alcoholic. THE ENTIRE 2ND FLOOR OF HOSPITAL DID NOT HAVE PROPER COOLING FOR ATLEAST 5 DAYS . THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF NURSES AND PATIENT ADVOCATES AND NOTHING WAS DONE. Go to UNM or Presbyterian. We have had 3 horrible events here and gave Lovelace multiple chances to redeem themselves and they have failed poorly at doing that and cannot even offer standard level healthcare for folks. I WOULD NOT EVEN TAKE MY PETS HERE IF THAT WAS AN OPTION. SAVE YOUR TIME AND GET MUCH BETTER CARE ELSEWHERE.

odc Cande

They do not help at all....

Amanda Wob

My husband was misdiagnosed recently here by a nurse practitioner! He could have died!!! They acted like it was no big deal!

John Roberts

I was admitted here this last January, transferred by ambulance from Lovelace Downtown ER, with a severe staph infection in my hand. Considering it was at the height of flu season, I was lucky for the staff to find an available bed. The staff here was nothing short of amazing the entire four days I was in. All the nurses and techs were very responsive, courteous, and professional, and the attending physicians were very informative, keeping be informed on what was happening. I'm lucky to still have my hand function, and I thank everyone here for it.

Sarah McClure

I initially went here for a concussion after a bad wreck. I was sitting in the waiting room for FOUR hours! Once they finally called me back they put me in a room and didn't even clean the bed. But the worst is the care I received the FIRST night. Over the course of 8.5 hours of being in that er I got some pain pills for a headache that didn't even work, and a CT scan which showed nothing. The provider, Wendee Burnett wAs rude and made me feel stupid for coming in in the first place. SECOND night, 3 weeks later, my PCP refers me to the er for an MRI so I came here again. Same provider, rude as before. Tells me "there is no reason for you to have an MRI because the CT scan did not show anything" an MRI shows more than a CT I work for XRANM for gods sake. Anyway, she ends on a "let's see if I can get you some tramodol for your headache" I said that's what you have me last time and didn't do anything She starts to argue that she knows that's not what she gave me so in our fight I told her to go check my file. Sure enough she did, and came back THREE HOURS LATER with a prescription name that's the damn brand name of the first one. I am in awe with how terrible and careless a provider could be. Although this visit I only waiting in the waiting room for an hour, I've also been in the room and haven't gotten any tests or seen anyone for a solid 4 hours DO NOT EVER GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A "REAL" emergency

Had excellent assistance at this location when my daughter had surgery.

Best hospital I been too friendly knowledgeable staff. I was in and out they are very quick for being a hospital. I would recommend this hospital and definitely come back if needed. Thanks again.

Just have to say... If you're having a baby, pick a better hospital. Discharge from this hospital is a bigger struggle than being released from prison.
