so i have to post this because its wonderful i had to go to the hospital here in carlsbad nm again today " there was just a few contractions and concers but everything checked out A ok" any ways i just want to give credit where credit is deserved the women in the ob department that saw me was a nurse named Nancy and she was fanominal she was welcoming and kind but still tough and "no this is what your doing wrong and you need to stop" she answered every question me my husband and my mom had fully nonbiasly and without judgment i had been so worried about everything but she made me feel much better and less stressed she was a real person not just a nurse or care provider and she treated me like a real person not just a patient or first time mom and for that i want to publicly thank her

The absolute worse place ever. Set in their hallway for about 3 hrs, finally got in a room, was out in 15 min. I was dehydrated and I told them. No liquids were ever offered and I got a bill for $9500.00.

Charged our insurance 51,000 for an outpatient appendix removal procedure. That's not Including the bills from the surgeon, pathologist, and anesthesiologist! Do your research about there pricing and if you can go anywhere else then DO IT!!

I do not know, nor has my business ever employed Kyle Nichols or Catrina R Carillo in my business, Mosaic Architectural Solutions, PA, nor do I owe either of these two persons any money or wages. Yet Carlsbad Medical Center through their attorneys, Faber and Brand, LLC represented by Jonathan L Shoener, have put court and collective action against my company for money they want to garnish from us. I have to spend my valuable time responding to a frivolous action! This is absurd!

Tried calling to pay a bill go through all the options on their automated center and when it says there transfering me to a customer service representative it drops my calls left messages and everything. They sue people for ni ot paying and when you try to pay they dont have anyone to talk to to pay the medical bill........

They say they reach out to patients multiple times and offer additional discounts off of already discounted charges. $6,000 for 2.5 hours of care for the flu?? I’d hate to think what the full price is. Our medical system is in a free fall, and this hospital is a perfect example of the worst of the worst. Don’t go here if you can help it.

This hospital routinely sues it's patients. Misti Price, a nurse in Carlsbad, N.M., was sued five times by Carlsbad Medical Center for bills totaling $17,000. Her car was repossessed and her wages garnished. Avoid at all costs.

The worst place ever been hurting for 3 days with my ear and I can take pain but this ear ache is something my face and head are throbbing and I mean in pain what did the hospital do nothing saw me for 2 min and sent me on my way have me Tylenol and amaxacillin do not do anything for me at all no help what so ever I'm still in pain and my head is killing me never go here if u can drive to Artesia because u will die in this hospital they have the worst doc ever

Never fails, every time I end up with one of my children there, the staff is so rude. They made my 13 yr old daughter feel like she had done something wrong because she was so dehydrated she couldn't provide a UA. We were there over an hr and all they did was put her in a room. No blood work, no IV, and when the Dr did come in he was there 30 secs before leaving the room.

Came in with my husband cause he's had stomach pains for months now. They said it would be a 20 min wait and we've been waiting for an hour. When you talk to the nurses or doctors, they talk to you like you're a child They have no respect. If you need to go to the hospital just go to Artesia, hobbs, anywhere but here.

I’m from out of state and here traveling with my husband for work. I came in because I feared I was having a possible heart attack, (I was having pain in my arms) it took over an hour to get a bed and another 40+ minutes to get seen by the doctor! Who talked to me for about 3 minutes and said I’m just having muscle pain and recommend an ice pack!! If I thought it was just “muscle pain” I would’ve taken the ibuprofen they gave me, at home and not made an ER visit. They were a little busy but don’t try and just push people out and make patients feel as if we’re wasting your time! The people of Carlsbad deserve so much better! I saw another post saying the staff talk you like your a child and I wouldn’t say they talked to me that way but they definitely looked at me as if I was a child being overly dramatic about the nature of my visit! I left there angry and upset! Basically crying on my way back home because they made me feel as if i wasted their time and didn’t give time to actually check me out other than doing the basic blood pressure, listening go breathing and “does it hurt when I touch there”routine! 2+ hours to get seen for less than 5 minutes and an ibuprofen! worst ER experience ever! How can you have faith in a hospital where the doctors seem like they don’t want to do their jobs properly! and trust that they’ll do everything they can to make sure you’re in good health! Ridiculous! I hope for the rest of my time here in Carlsbad I’ll never have to come back to this hospital!

Reading the Times article made me sick. Carlsbad never once offered financial aid to those who needed it, and sued countless patients that were charged astronomical amounts for healthcare services. Staff at Carlsbad makes the world a worse place, not a better one. They don't save lives, Carlsbad ruins them.

This is THE WORST HOSPITAL in the history if hospitals!!!! Nobody wants to do their job, they are immensely judgemental, and they are a joke medically speaking. My Dad went there complaining of chest pains and they quickly ran him through writing it off as heartburn and sent him home. Later that night he died of a heart attack.Its worth the trip to go to Artesia trust me.Only go there if u want to die.

My daughter went there cause she lost her voice and wanted to be sure she didn't have strep so she would not pass it on to her kids, the doctor have the nerve to tell her she was there just to get an doctors excuse because she missed work (which she didn't) after a painful exam by the doctor he left, never came back to tell her results, she had to ask the nurse what were her results which was hard to do since she was there for she lost her voice. the nurse came in with a pain pill and while handing it to her and said oh do you have any allergies. What is wrong with this doctor he is there to help sick people not to accuse them of just going in for a work excuse, if he does not want to be there maybe he should find a different job, we will be contacting the management

Has to be the worst hospital ever. Took my husband in cause he had injured his bicep tore it into!!! The Dr came in and looked and said well looks like you have a torn bicep. He left and we sat there for a hour and a half. They didn't give him anything for pain. Had to go ask for the sling and then iIhad to put the ice pack on. Would not take a animal there

First time we went, my wife had a concussion. Waited for a few hours in the waiting room, then she was taken to a waiting room and waited another hour. Dr. came in, asked her a few questions. Gave her some Tylenol and told her to go home and rest. That was apparently worth $4000. Recently went in when my daughter broke her collar bone. Didn’t have to wait long this time. She was balling and in pain. I asked the admissions lady if they could give her something for the pain as we were filling out the paperwork. She told us they would give her something later. We were seen briefly by a doctor, who asked one or two questions. Then they scanned her. We waited a few minutes. Dr. Came back and said. It’s broken. Keep that arm immobile and take ibuprofen. They never gave her anything. We were in and out in less than an hour. That hour was worth $3300.

My mother was injured this weekend and we had to go to the E.R. When we arrived (she arrived via ambulance), we told the receptionist who we were there for and she said she would let us know. After an hour of waiting, we approached her again and she said "oh, we've been waiting for you all to arrive, come on back". We are finally able to go to the back and see her. That was only the beginning of horrible customer service and medical care. The only three bright spots on the night were a great E.M.T. crew, a really sweet nurse, and a nice X-Ray tech. Apart from that, we had the following experiences: - Long wait times (no one spoke to her until she'd been there for 2 hours) -Rude, Lazy Employees (assistant? nurse? said she'd ask the doctor a question and when asked if she had, said she'd forgotten to...she didn't even move from her spot at the nurse's station for the better part of the 5 hours we were there) -Lack of Care for Patients (my mom was put in an awkward, uncomfortable position and no one came to fix her bed; after 2 hours, she was given a pain pill, then a nurse tried to send her home with the same one and threw something close to a child's fit when he was told the pain pill did nothing for her) -Cleanliness (there was some blood on the floor of her E.R. room) I'm not sure if being the only hospital in Carlsbad has made them lazy or what else could be happening, but I'll just say I'm glad we don't live in the area and this was just a one time thing. For a company that states on their website that you will have a 30 minute or less wait time until the staff come in to help you, they obviously haven't informed their staff of this. There's a difference between being busy and being lazy and when you hear the conversations of staff sitting and gossiping at the nurse's station while your family member is in pain, you know that they obviously aren't that busy. To the E.M.T. crew, nurse, and x-ray tech who helped out, I'm sorry if this review effects you. You all were great and I hope you all continue with the great work.

I received wonderful care during my surgery and stay at Carlsbad medical center. My doctor and all the nursing staff were comforting and very attentive. I always knew what was going on and provided anything I needed. Thank you!
