We dropped our dog Comet Walker off at 8:30 a.m. for an ear procedure with Dr.Stephanie Lester Grey her bedside manner was ice cold! She didn't call us until 11 hours later! saying he was Doing well in recovery 4 hours later someone called and said Comet had died There was absolutely no Care or Compassion We had to call with questions waiting on hold for 10 minutes We spent over $8000.00 You would think that there would be some sympathy or empathy for our grief Just be aware of your situation if you Love your pet as much as we did!!!!

First, I will say that the vet and the vet tech that worked with us gave my dog excellent care when he went in for a procedure recently. However, the follow-through as we waited for test results and a plan for treating him was ABYSMAL. I was on the phone with them a lot over the course of nine days, and was told, “we don’t have the test results. We’ll call in two days.” No phone call - we had to call them. When we did and I had questions: “those are great questions. I’ll get answers and call you back tomorrow.” It’s four days later and there was no phone call. Then, “we have the test results, but we don’t have a course of treatment yet - the lab is testing cultures and we should know soon. We’ll call in two days.” We waited three with still no phone call and a suffering dog. We had to get our regular vet involved after nine days of no results when we were supposed to have them after three days. The kicker? Our vet got all of the results and gave us a course of treatment all within two hours, and SNH had the report for several days outlining an appropriate course of treatment while we were waiting and calling and being lied to by them. If our dog ever needs a specialist again, we will definitely be going somewhere else.

Everyone is amazing especially the oncology department. My 14 year old cat is now in remission after be treated!! I just recently had my youngest cat also diagnosed with lymphoma and everyone has been so amazing to me and him. They truly care about the animals they treat! I will be forever grateful to them!

I can't say enough wonderful things about the care my pups got from here. One of my girls have extensive medical issues so she saw more than one specialist there. The doctors fully explain in detail so you understand what's happening and with me being under stress from the news they were so good having to repeat themselves so I could understand. They take their time with you and your pup, no rushing you through. At the end of the appointment they'll give you a packet explaining everything again. I also went to them to have my other girl put to sleep and they're incredibly sensitive to our feelings. They have a special room for you to say goodbye to your pet. Couches, tissues and a call button for when you're ready at your convenience. They didn't even rush us out afterwards, they are all so kind there for whatever your needs may be. They also have the credentials that we should be looking for for quality care.

Unfortunately, my boy has cancer. They were awesome. ..so kind. They gave me all of my options and sent me an email with information for me to refer to.

Wonderful doctors. Caring staff. Excellent hospital. I visited SNHVH, as well as another referral hospital in Massachusetts, with one of my dogs that needed cataract surgery. I felt really comfortable with SNHVH and Dr. Montgomery right from the moment I walked in the front door and chose this hospital for the surgery. I am extremely happy with the overall care and support we received. Dr. Montgomery is a wonderful doctor and the staff is great. I would highly recommend him and the hospital. Subsequently, my other dog began to have heart issues. I had no reservations bringing this dog to SNHVH also. I have been very happy with the support I have received for him as well.

They took such good care of my baby! Got him right in for diagnostics and surgery.

We were referred to SNHVH (Dr Montgomery) due to my dogs glaucoma. Dr Montgomery and the technicians always clearly explained everything and answered all of my questions. We eventually had to make the decision to remove our dogs eye. As nervous as we were the staff made us feel at ease. We were updated throughout our dog Sophie's stay at the hospital. I would highly recommend SNHVH.

Deborah Gendron

Staff was very informative for my cat's herniated disc surgery. I would highly recommend them again.

Our 12 yr old Oriental kitty became very ill very suddenly and we could not reach our homecare vet so we brought her here. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who immediately placed us in a quiet exam room to help keep kitty and us be more comfortable while waiting on the vet. Amanda, the Vet Tech, was professional and gentle while handling our kitty. Dr. Crowley gave us enough information as to what may have been going on with our cat so that we were able to make an informed, yet heart-wrenching, decision that it was time to let her go. I was able to hold her close while the drugs were administered and she quickly slipped away. Their compassion for us and our pet was heartfelt and so gratefully appreciated at such a sad and difficult time. .

Don't go here if you don't want to get ripped off. Glen lake referred my daughter there and $140 later they told her the same exact thing glen lake did. So far she has spent hundreds and has gotten no where and the cat is still not better. These people actually referred her back to Glen lake because it would be cheaper . What a joke!! I guess these people don't care about your pet but they love your money. It's disgusting!!

Jacqueline Tkachuk

Dr. Kennedy and the entire staff is incredible. I can't say enough about the care that my sweet Tank received as he had two masses removed a couple of weeks ago. My other dog had double knee surgery there a few years ago and is doing awesome. I won't take my furkids anywhere else... their surgeons are top-notch!

I would recommend going here. Our regular vet wasn't sure about the diagnosis. I felt better after he was seen at SNHVH. She thought he had a spinal cord stroke and thought we could hold off on the MRI. He has really improved over the last few weeks. I would recommend going.

We had a very satisfying and professional experience at this veterinary hospital. We were treated with the utmost respect and care as well as our cat Brady as well. When you are that concerned about the welfare of your most cherished pet I would highly recommend taking your pet here. Thanks to all the doctors and professionals who made this trying time much easier to bear!

I went for a visit bc my cat was sick, the visit was ok, not busy at the time, 1 am. I called the next day bc my cat contracted flees and Judy Evans the manager laughed and explained we don't guarantee you wont get fleas !! wow that's awful to think these pests can create worms and diseases and they don't clean their hospital she also explained Dr. Pasco would not care of this complaint. ( apparently he owns the facility...

Michaela Butler

Love all the staff and level of professionalism offered here. We had to come to the emergency room with my 3year old pup due to swollen lymph nodes which was diagnosed as cancer. We are working with them on a treatment plan & we couldn't have found a better bunch of wonderful people to work with. Thank you for truly caring about my baby Zoey ❤️

David LaBranche Jr

My dog needed eye surgery. He had a detached cornea. Dr Montgomery was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and he even got in touch with our primary vet to let him know the surgery was a success. My dog is 13 and my everything. So happy to have found this place!

Kevin Clark

We had an excellent experience here. We were referred here by our vet as they could admittedly not diagnose our dog. Naturally, we were intimidated by a “specialist” and the word alone sounded expensive...However, when we first got there we were warmly greeted by name and even asked if i was here with my dog (also adressed by name). We were then brought to a room with my dog right away, where we sat for a short time. Our doctor came in and to our amazement began discussing our dogs specific case as she had clearly reviewed and been in contact with our primary vet. After an extremely short, and impressive ( we have a Jack Russell that can be agressive with people “messing” with him) examination she determined the problem and recommended a couple different options, including the most cost effective ones!!! This place is top notch, not one of those places you read about that is “trying to empty your wallet” these people really cared, from the vet tech knowing my dogs name to to doctors diagnosis and honest options to help our little man! Hope to/never see you guys again!!! Lol Thanks you guys so much!

My female dog got sick vomited a few times over 3 days..red spots showed up on her belly my regular vet said she had some internal bleeding gave her meds sent us home.well at 6pm Saturday night my Lil girl came to me and vomited a huge amount of dark red almost Brown blood...panic mode! Picked her up drove 95 miles an hour with flashers on down 101 got there they took her in..it was touch and go for 2 days..she was close to me having them give the needle. I Prayed...the dr. Said we can try a transfusion with chemo drugs it's about a 40%chance it will work...well I said go ahead didn't sleep at all that night and was nervous at 5 a.m to call but did... THEY SAVED HER!!MIRACULOUS TURNAROUND...THE DR.S HERE ARE WONDERFUL AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!

Quick consult appointment given. Reasonable wait time. Dr. Kennedy was very thorough and took the time to explain the issue and the potential treatment options.

I went in for an emergency visit after my dog fractured her pelvis. They met us outside with a stretcher before I even made it in the building to ask them to come out with help. They were compassionate and very thorough with my pooch. I was so thankful to have made the choice to go to a new place for her care.

Bill Brouillet

I was very happy with my visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Wood took plenty of time to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease.

Jacqueline Belrose

I brought my dog here because she had symptoms of brain cancer (which is what turned out to be a correct diagnosis). The staff and vet were wonderful. I wasn't willing to pay for an MRI to diagnose something that was not curable, and although they suggested having it done, it was not a hard sell at all. We all need to be advocates for our own (and our dogs) health care and treatment options. I highly recommend them, and I also think it's incumbent on us to research diagnostic and treatment options and make the best decisions for our pets.

Dianna Craven

Dr. Wood and her staff were compassionate and caring for our dog as she underwent Chemo. She was responsive and took time to help us with many difficult decisions.

Too much turnover for me. I went to go back for a three week follow up with the surgeon Dr. Massat and he was gone. Receptionists refused to tell me where he went as they wanted me to start over with their new surgeon. Went to go back for followup with the same dog's neurologist and she was also gone. I tracked down Dr. Massat and drove the extra 25 minutes to follow up with him as I was seeing him because of his surgical expertise! I also tracked down the neurologist Dr Kube and have driven from Moultonborough, NH to Walpole, MA twice now to follow up with her because she and the facility she opened is the absolute best!

In 2013 I brought my 17-year-old three-legged cat in because he was having seizures. Walking backwards and yowling. Three weeks earlier I brought him in when the symptoms started to a different vet in Nashua. I asked him about my cat's distended belly, as I've asked many vets before. I was told the same thing I'd been told before. " If he can clear his own bladder he should be fine." Apparently that was incorrect. The woman at this clinic after looking at my cat for 10 minutes literally told me I was "a horrible owner" and that my cat had been neglected and for it he'd need put down. I cared for that cat dearly and he was well loved in fact his little ash box is sitting on my desk with his collars wrapped around it. I spent more money on that cat in 16 years that I had on anything in my entire life. At only a year he got out and was hit by a car. The choice was made to leave his limp useless fourth arm attached. We'd been through thick and thin and like 8 apartments. She said his bladder was so distended that even without the brain tumors that killed him he would likely have died of kidney failure in the future. I did not come to this clinic for an appraisal of my character and snap judgement. I came as a balling mess with the cat that I had loved and cared for since the age of ten. FOR HELP. She gave him a shot and he went limp. She took him and said to see the woman at the desk about paying the bill. If that woman still works there this place is not worth your time. You and your pet deserve better I'm sure. It was hard to write this without profanity.

After spending $350 at my local Vet to find out it was too complicated a break for them to work on they referred me to SNHVH and I was very pleased it wasn't cheap but they did a great job and did a very complicated operation. thank you

Lauren Loper

Dr Kennedy was great when my dog fractured her pelvis. He was very knowledgeable about if she needs surgery or not and is working with us to help my dog through this tough time.

Dr Lee Garrod and the Staff at So NH Veterinary Hospital was very kind and gentle with the care of our little 8 y.o. Terrier mix Brady, who had been diagnosed with lung cancer. Dr Garrod displayed an honest concern for Brady's treatment plan, consulting with other Veterinarians and Specialists before discussing our options. I felt that Dr Garrod spoke with honesty and never spoke negatively even though the prognosis was not favorable. Unfortunately Brady crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the early morning hours of January 27, 2017. Brady was at home surrounded by his mother, brothers and sisters when he passed. If the need should arise, I would recommend So NH Veterinary Hospital to family and friends.

Super staff and intelligent decision making. Recommend for any pet and owner.

Brought my dog here because our primary staff was unable to diagnose our dog and recommended going to a specialist. Our dog was extremely sick. While the vet here was kind to the dog and I, she would not listen to me at all - her only focus was that the dog had a fever and would not pay attention to any of the other symptoms. She had a list of tests that she wanted me to do on the dog, more than half of them had nothing to do with what symptoms the dog was exhibiting (because the vet refused to listen to them and told me that those had nothing to do with it). We did run a few tests because I was desperate to find an answer, with them all coming back normal (mostly because she was looking for something that had nothing to do with her symptoms and wouldn't let me tell her about the symptoms). By the time I left the office, they had taken $1200 from us and gave us zero answers and no plan as to what to do next. Within the next week we had to decide whether to put our dog down or go to another specialist. We were reluctant to go somewhere else because of this horrible experience but so glad we chose to try one more place. We ended up going to Angell in Boston - they were fabulous and diagnosed our dog within 30 minutes (pending the results of the tests, which ended up confirming his diagnosis). She has an auto-immune disease, the vets at Southern NH did not even mention the idea of this - they only wanted to focus on infections and cancer. We almost lost our dog due to the incompetence on Southern NH Veterinary Hospital. I HIGHLY recommend you choose Angell in Boston over this place (and as a side note, Angell is considerably less expensive).

After hearing a heart murmur and seeing changes in my cat's heart on x-ray, I was referred to the cardiologist at SNHVRH. I must say it was a very pleasant and informative experience.... everyone was extremely friendly, and the staff handled my cat with utmost care. Dr. Fiakpui was VERY thorough in explaining the results of the echo to me, and I have a clear understanding of my cat's condition now. I got thorough documentation as well as instructions on how to monitor his condition. It really put me at ease to know what I can do at home to monitor him. Altogether, I feel he is in good hands with Dr. Fiakpui at SNHVRH.

I would highly recommend Dr. Carrie Wood and all the caring people who work here. I was told everything to help make a decision and feel that my pet was treated with much love and expertise.

Great staff, very friendly, and wonderful with our dog.

Debora McLaughlin CEO

Excellent professional care by expert vets. Caring, I've never felt rushed and they always show genuine care and interest in my pets health and well being. I highly recommend them for emergency, vet and specialty services.

Christine Baker

I would reccomend SNHVRH based on our pets visit there in October for an ultrasound consult.Professional and knowledgeable staff were kind to my pet and my husband!

Pam Bowne

The doctor was great while examining my dog but they are way over priced and it has been a huge struggle and run around getting an affordable prescription for my dog's UTI. They prescribed a $160 antibiotic that only they can fill even though there is a more affordable alternative that can be filled at a local pharmacy for a fraction of the cost. I've been trying for 5 days to get the prescription but get one excuse after another.

Terri Wood

I have used SNHVRH for 2 different pets I've had. The first experience was with their Oncology Dept and currently my dog is treated by the Opthamologist Dr. Montgomery. I have had excellent experiences both times. The Dr's and staff are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. My dog's eyes have improved significantly under Dr. Montgomery's care and treatment. Also, I am extremely grateful to have the option for such a wonderful facility being close to where I live in SNH. I would find it very inconvenient to have to travel to Boston for my dog to see a specialist. ( Esp for very frequent chemo treatments ). I am very pleased with SNHVRH and highly recommend it !!!

My Gracie (14yo feline) was one year post radiation from Angel in Boston when her nasal tumor tripled in size in just a few months. After a HORRIBLE experienc at Angel I was desperate to bring Gracie's care back to NH. As you know its improssible to find a "radiation" oncologist anywhere in the state. First off this website is FRAUDULENT! they do NOT offer radiation as the website promises & the Dr they did have has been gone for ages. As a pet parent desperate for help I was so relieved to find this place during my research. I called on 9/13/18 & had med records faxed to Dr Kim Johson/Oncologist who I was told would review them and call me either by end of day or the following day to let me know if she thinks she can help Gracie w/chemo. NO CALL. I called the next day 9/14 & was put on hold, per reception the oncology team told her they are a little behind but are reviewing her case and would call me by the end of that day. Here I am ONE WEEK LATER on 9/20 and NO phone call! NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK. You would think these Drs would realize how devastating that is, as a parent to be desperatly searching for help only to be misled and ignored. I would NEVER use this place even as a last resort. Shame on Dr Johnson you are heartless! and I was sure to tell all of Gracies other Drs in referring hospitals about this and warned them about referring any patients to this place. After reading all of these reviewes its probably a blessing in disguise. If you want an AMAZING, warm, caring Oncologist visit Dr Kow at Port City Vet Hosp in Portsmouth NH. I, nor can anyone I know who's ever interacted with him, cannot say enough good things, he's like visiting a friend whenever you see or talk to him. He will actually look for ways and work with staff to help you afford the care needed. That entire hospital is amazing.

absolute scumbags!!!!!!!!! spend your money if you want to. but i can guarantee when you really need them for your dying pet they wont see them. period. they will tell you to surrender your pet you raised. they are disgusting and quite frankly anyone who brings their pet to them is asking for the worst. money hungry losers who have no interest in the animals welfare. dont do payment plans to save lives. they dont take surrenders to save lives. they call you irresponsible. they arent a vet they are scumbags. losers. pigs.

Lisa Brown

I can't begin to say enough good things about my experience with VECC. Our beloved Maggie, yellow lab/aussie cross was so sick. Our primary vet didn't know what was wrong with her. I contacted Dr. Lee Garrod and told her of Maggie's situation. From that moment forward Dr. Garrod had me bring Maggie in the emergency room. All the staff was so professional and kind. All the vets were WONDERFUL! I thought for sure Maggie was going to have to be put down. But with there expert diagnosis, Maggie needed her Gall Bladder removed. They told me she would be fine after the surgery.THEY WERE CORRECT! Because of Dr. Lee Garrod our Maggie is fine and able to go on our daily hour walks and play with her fellow pack mates.
