Caring folks inside.. The signage inside and esp, outside the building is horrible. Very confusing

Every time I've been in the hospital I have been cared for by friendly professional people. Food is good as well.

I wanna personally thank Dr. Daniel H. Kallmerten who saw me when I came into the Lakes Region General Hosipital for care. At the time I could barely walk and through his service I have recovered back to normal health. I do not take this for granted and I am extremely grateful. Keep up the good work.

Where do I begin? The ER, while its doing its "best" to keep up, fails. It leaves patients unattended for hours while 1 doctor in the entire ER helps 15+ rooms. The nurses are doing their best. The facility in the ER department is dirty and OLD. It looks like something from an old TV show. Dirty floors and old uncomfortable beds. UPDATE* (ER is undergoing generous rennovation) The time it takes you to get a hospital bill is 6+ months, by the time you receive it you forgot you had even been there. The Hospital itself is trying to keep a float in the busy times. While the main hospital is nicely set up and the staff are great and helpful, the services fall short. I took my health else where after my surgery because I felt I would get worse not better! I would rather go to Concord Hospital, risk the drive while in pain and risk my safety than go back to LRGH! That is why I give this Hospital 1/5 stars.

Would Rather die most times then go to this hospital, they OVER charge, and under deliver.

I unfortunately had to have three MRI's in one year. My third was here. They take good care of you and check in often to make sure you're doing okay, since being squeezed into a small tube can be a very stressful experience.

I got a concussion and had an M.R.I and they never filed it.Little salty about not seeing my brain.

Unprofessional and terrible service!!

Great and fast emergency room

Worst hospital stay ever--- should not be called a hospital. Do not believe they understand nursing care and what their role as care givers is. Will never go their again.

andrew perillo

Pff who needs doctors when you actually eat correctly and exercise.

Glenna Frost

They misdiagnosed my daughter. Ended up having to take her to Dartmouth. I can tell them something is wrong and the first thing they want to do is give me pain killers even when I directly express that I'm not in pain. If you care about your health and your families health don't go here. The only saving grace this place has is the staff is very kind and polite most of the time.

Ted Gilbert

BEWARE!!!!! you will have better results from a vet!!! my 9 year old know more then the doctors here the nurses doe nothing but talk and think they know something when they really dont when you hit the call button they take 5 or more min to respond they dont listen to what you have to say there more worried about what insurance you have instead of what is wrong with you never again will go there

Terry Desmarais

I had surgery here in May. The staff from my arrival to when I was discharged 3 days later were all wonderful and very responsive to all my needs. I cannot complain about anything during my stay.

We brought my 81 year old Dad in on New Year's eve morning with severe symptoms of lethargy and disorientation. I have to say our experience at LRGH was absolutely amazing - great service, quick diagnosis of his critically low sodium and immediate treatment. He ended staying for 4 days and everyone we came in contact with was awesome. Our family is eternally grateful and will be sure to stop in to say Hi and thanks again when next back in the area. Special shout outs and thanks to Paisley in ER, Keesha in the ICU, Kaitlyn at Senior Services and doctors Rangelov, Deery and Anderson. The O'Connors

As an EMS professional, I can clearly and confidently state, I question the way this hospital treats some of its patients. Although sometimes they can be very good, more consistency is needed.

The worst hospital I have ever been treated at...you would do better at a veterinarian

I went to the ER twice in the last couple of weeks as I became highly allergic to mosquitos. Both times I had to my primary care in DE to help me long distance. The first time at the ER, went with an eye shut swollen. Waited to hour to see a doctor for 1 min (timed by my husband) who prescribed Benadryl, which I was already taken and had not help. The second time I went in with 12 days old an underarm infection for which my PCP had prescribed adequately but I was one of those cases for which it did not worked. Again after a long wait, this time saw a nurse practitioner who prescribed Bactrim again knowing that I just finished ineffectively 10 day of Bactrim. Ended up at Mass general..... Please avoid this place!!!!!!

Entered in to the emergency room with chest pain, possible heart attack. Took me right in and did EKG, chest x-ray, blood work. Nurse's were attentive and caring. Doctor very informative. I am grateful for the professional staff and their quality of services. Thank you.

Id highly recommend another establishment... I was Racially profiled over the damn phone and have been disregarded as a patient since day one... Before intake of my NECESSARY diagnostic procedure the women on the phone assumed my Racial Ethnicity. Instead of giving me options or giving me the option to opt out... I am beyond extremely offended as I have never met this women or identified what my ethic background is on any paper. When I showed up for my scheduled procedure at 5:50/6am my paperwork was mysteriously missing... I was the first patient in Pre-OP and the Last to leave for my procedure... I was lied to and told my doctor was stuck in traffic due to an accident but when my family member searched GPS and local news... There was no such accident. They where coercing me to reschedule my procedure... My doctor arrived 3 hours later... When I woke up from my procedure I was told before I left the hospital I was to meet with my doctor of what was found and to go over after care. I wasn't met by my doctor or anyone and just given paperwork of what as my procedure was... When I complained of my horrid experience I was given a generic unapologetic letter avoidance of blame with my name spelled wrong TWICE... This is by far the worst place. The only good thing about this experience was one of the young nurses that got me heated blankets in pre-op because I waited literally hours and was freezing... You all should be ashamed of how you handled this case.

Surviving the Dark

Went to the ER after a motor vehicle accident which I was hit from behind by a truck going approx 30 MPH while I was stopped. The Dr. declared in his notes I was involved in a low speed accident (which is less than 10MPH). ER doctor spent less than 5 minutes examining me despite me complaining of severe back pain. Sent me home stating back strain and refused to do an MRI. Went to a specialist a few days later to learn I have a herniated disc and should’ve had the MRI done at the ER. Absolute worst Doctor I’ve ever encountered, with zero aptitude for bedside manner and no listening skills.

Tenika Brown

Brought my daughter into the ER for a fever of 104.2 and was going on 48 hours of the fever. They got us in fast and everyone that we saw that night was great to her and we didn’t wait at all to get into a room or see the doctor.

Denise Burke

Never had an issue with anyone at this hospital. They took very good care of me and they were super nice!

I've heard from many people if they were dying outside of LRGH they would ask to be taken elsewhere. From the reviews it looks like folks agree. Something must be done. Healthcare is screwed up enough as it is without having to deal with more headaches. I just read a "letter to the editor" today in the Laconia Free Sun paper (8-18-17) which stated they cannot do anything to treat alcoholism. They turn people away. Seriously? This place needs to be investigated.

Our experience at lakes region general hospital emergency room is one of the worst hospitals to go to they are so slow sitting around doing nothing keeping us waiting for hours when they was slow and then they put us in a room with blood on the floor which is gross and unsanitary this hospital needs people that need and want to do there damn job this place is horrible

Apostoli Papaioannou

They break alot of privacy laws.

Would not even give this place one star. Came in with migraine, vomiting. No nursing care, no fluids or med school. I was on vacation, never go to this place.

Amber Hall

If I could give this place a negative -1000 stars I totally would been sitting in waiting room for almost 3 hrs now and everytime you ask someone how much longer they say I dont know. Like it's your job to know seen 4 people walk out of the waiting room in the past 3 hrs

My 89 year old father fell at the Veterans nursing home and was brought to the ER. Said all was okay with him. He failed and died within 6 months of this fall. I truely believe the ER missed something, but of course it cant be proven. I called and talked to the ER doctor that was on duty that day, and they pretty much scoffed it all off as his age. Okay how do you go from spry to dead in 6 months AFTER a fall that was supposedly checked out? RIP Dad, love ya.

Marc Elbaum

I had 2 surgeries in 5 days. 8 inches of colon removed. Great care .Everyone here went the extra mile for me. Nothing but praise from me.

Steve Nordman

Was hospitalized while I was on vacation at Laconia and had to have an emergency appendectomy. Out of nowhere had terrible pain in my side and turns out my appendix was about to rupture. Went to ER and everyone there was very attentive and caring. They tested me right away and scheduled immediate emergency surgery. Dr. Ray was great – responsive, explained everything, professional and caring – great bedside manner and knowledgeable – he covered it all. Saw him every day I was in the hospital, including over the weekend. All of the nurses were great, super responsive, kind, and caring. Especially Abby – answering my every need. And Matt was great too – always took the time to tell me what was going on and what I needed to do to get better. Can’t understand some of the crazy negative reviews I’ve read. I was in there June 2018 and my experience was 5 stars. Thanks to everyone who got me back on my feet and I am sorry for anyone’s name I forgot to mention – everyone was great. Hope to see you next year again for bike week but next time as a visitor not a patient! Thanks LRGH – you’re all the best!

Jeff Thurston

Amazing service and attention during my recent surgery and stay. Professionals all the way. So lucky to have this hospital in my own town.

Shawn Poulin

Surprisingly I was in and out of the emergency room fast (first time EVER).

Director of quality care was called when I was hospitalized in Feb or March for a nurse giving me quadruple my dose of a prescribed med. Even after I told her it didnt took right but she insisted that she ordered it from the pharmacy.. I was a mess!! Called the director the next day from my hospital bed and got voicemail.. called again the day I got out and another voicemail.. and to this day i have NEVER received a call back.. I was discharged this morning (after threatening to leave) and I'm just so disappointed.. next time (hopefully no more next times) I will tell my hubby to have the ambulance take me to Huggins or Plymouth!! This one nurse on last night's shift screamed at me!! My call button had fallen on the floor and each time it sounded like someone was around my room - I would call out: "hello?" I did this like 4 times and the 5th time - I called out a bit louder.. this horrible nurse's aid came to my door (with my nurse right behind her) and literally screamed at me - "are we done screaming in here now".. i angrily responded back at her that I was not screaming and that I had called out several times already.. thankfully my nurse Dana was right there and came to help me.. (my call button had fallen to the floor) as he was tending to me she stood in my doorway giving me this evil look.. I asked her why she was still there staring at me.. I asked Dana to close my door and please make sure she comes no where near my room.. Dana was absolutely a doll.. talked to me about my condition and has always been 100% on point in my last 3 hospital stays.. he is truly a man who was created to care for others.. they're a little hard to find at LRGH.. it's the nurses aids who obviously took a 4 or 8 month course and that certificate makes 80% of them power mongers!! they need to get rid of that call button system.. you buzz; they answer; you tell them what you need; and 99% of the time you get nothing!! My room had no toilet paper and I buzzed to ask for toilet paper.. 30 minutes - nothing... go to the bathroom and pull the button in the bathroom.. this sweet little aid brought me 3 wet wioes. I asked another aid why I couldn't get toilet paper and she said: that's a maintance thing - we dont keep toilet paper on the floor!! Are you kidding me? I was up talking to my nurse the night before fir a little while and then I was up at 7 am and asked for water.. walked to my room door and a black haired nurse with a very heavy accent asked me from down the hall what I needed.. I asked for some cold water like 40 minutes ago - can you get someone to get it or show me and I'll get it myself? She snaps out NPO.. excuse me? NPO, NPO!! I went back to my room and called the nurse to ask what NPO is and she said its no food or water!! Call for my nurse (at this point I dont want to push that button unless my life depends on it) and my nurse says: they had you on no food or water because you were in and out of consciousness.. ok, well I was up last night and I've been up since 7am and my mouth tastes like mud..she says "when I came in this morning to give you your meds you were still pretty out of it", but i'll put a call in to your doctor to see if we can take you off NPO".. she was totally lying!! I sat up took the meds, and laid back down, but if anyone had ever peeked in on me after 7 am - i was sitting on the bed staring at a brick wall!! Meds in pill form? Given with a cup of warm water! Like it has been sitting in a pitcher for hours or just no ice ever.. By 9am I was leaving whether or not the doctor signed me out.. I felt like I was a nuisance and they controlled my care... Nurse Dana? I cant say enough about how caring, calm, and informative he is.. he understood my condition and treated me like a human - how everyone wants their mother, grandmother, wife, and daughter treated..

The staff at LRGH have healed me many times over the years.

My 4-year-old daughter fell off the monkey bars at 4:30. Unable to get in to see her Meredith based primary care physician, we took her to the Laconia Clinic (a first time for us). We were seen upon arrival, with no wait. The providers were very sweet and immediately gained our daughter's trust. After an x-ray and splint, we were on our way home by 7:00. The following morning, I contacted the Orthopedic office. Unable to get an immediate appointment in Laconia, I was referred to the Gilford office. The waterproof casting process was seamless and we were back home in time for lunch. From falling to playing again in less than 24-hours!

Bad bad bad!!!!!! Blood on floor in 2 spots trash on floor..have pics..tokk 15 seconda for the nurse to clean room...dr tried to give me ramdom unnecessary labs for high sugar from diabetes..wanted to check blood sugar witch is cool but checking heart lungs and keytones and blood tests are not needed so i said no..u can check blood sugar but no labs that are not needed..have had diabetes for 12 years so i have a clue about it..thenhe tells me we r the ER we wont just give u insulin we have to do all labs..i said no u dont i was was a couple years ago and u tested blood sugar gaveme a shot and went home..he said im not giving u insulin...funny cause youll give livesaving drugs to a junkie w no questions or labs but not a diabetic..so do a complaint...LRGH is a joke..unless u r litterally dieing do not go its worth it..to many labs that are not needed so they canmake a buck and DR .S. Who are not good at anyone thing..i wont let this go until they give me an appology and fore dr or settle out of court...i was teeated like i just wanted drugs....

I am a physician who suffered what I feared was a dangerous allergic reaction. I was taken to LRGH. The care was dreadful. Frightening. I waited 6 hours and never saw a physician for what could have been a serious condition. I saw a nurse who took a minimal history and my blood pressure and that was that. Left after 6 hours and no one cared, except that i sign that I was leaving. This "hospital" is a stigma on the state of New Hampshire that this place is allowed to stay open without improvements being forced on them. Is New Hampshire going to do anything to crack down on them. Avoid this dangerous hospital at all costs. It really needs to be closed down or completely revamped Arnold Robbins MD Clinical Professor Boston medical Center

Worst ER experience during a SLOW time. Follow up conversations with staff has been horrible. Take the drive and go to another hospital that cares about its patients.

Cat B

Do yourself a favor and save yourself from the pathetic excuse they call a hospital!!!

I've had 4 ER experiences at this hospital and I couldn't be more satisfied. The most recent was Tuesday, 5/16/2017 for an appendicitis. They were professional and efficient and showed compassion. They got me scheduled for surgery the same day and the procedure went perfectly. The overnight stay was as comfortable as one could expect with a caring and efficient staff. This was the second surgery in the last thirteen months at LRGH and I feel fortunate to have such a facility so close to where I live. Thank you LRGH!

Scott Alessi

Sad ,,,I spent 2 1/2 hours waiting for a shift change and had less than 5 minutes with a doctor. He told me to use lidocaine patches and I'd be fine. Went to concord hospital the next day to find out I had 2 herniated discs. LRGH is a joke .. unless your a meth head I recommend you go to another hospital. Thanks for nothing and the outrageous 1900 dollar bill pffft. You would have zero stars if it was possible

Adam Michalewicz

I highly Dislike this hospital

I recently brought a friend to the ER and was appalled at the condition of the hallways and waiting room. There was trash on the floors (soda cans on the tables in the waiting room, Iced Tea bottles on the floor under a chair, and floors were filthy). We waited 3 hours for x-rays, blood work, and a urine test which was never even done, to find out that the blood work and x-rays showed nothing. Unfortunately, the patient left with the same amount of pain and an answer of, " It could be this... so, try this". For a $100 dollar co-pay, that is not acceptable. Also, while waiting, there was a room that had a johnny, bloody gauze and cotton balls and a ripped off bracelet on the floor for over an hour. Not to mention the security guards sat in chairs in the hall with their cell phones watching videos on their phones with the volume up. Great new entrance, but I think the back side of the building physically suffered along with staff that must have been let go due to cuts.
