My mother had surgery on Tuesday April 4, 2017 it was a in and out surgery. It did happen that way. She went into surgery at 12:30 pm and they said that the surgery was from 1 to 2 pm. I waited until 2:45 pm and called by the the nurse for the recovery room to see if they know anything on my mom. The nurse asked me if I was in the waiting room and I said yes, she tells me that she will be out in a couple minutes it was 45 minutes later when someone came to get me. The doctor said that he wanted to send her home with oxygen so the nurse said that they where trying to get the oxygen ordered with the doctor. This was around 4:00 pm. The nurse that was taking care of my mom would not let her get put of bed and go pee. They came back and said the doctor wanted to keep her over night cuz of her blood pressure. But another nurse said it was cuz of her oxygen and they couldn't order the oxygen cuz it was to late. So they don't know what is really going on. So they took my mom to the Tahoe Towers to stay the night and it shouldn't take to long tomorrow to get the oxygen so I could take her home. That night was ruff for my mom cuz she said the nurse would take forever to take her to the bathroom. The next morning the doctor stoped in to talk to us around 8:30 am. So we where like sweet we where thinking we would get out of there soon cuz we have a 3 hour drive home. Ya right. They didn't get there stuff together. We would ask the nurse what is going on and they wouldn't tell us anything. And they know what was going with the oxygen. We didn't get out of there until 10:00 pm on Wednesday night than had to drive 3 hours. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. And when it was time for her to leave the night nurse made her walk out.

Depending on the department, processing can be slow. However, the staff is AMAZING here. I scheduled my tests on conflicting days on complete accident. It took 4 departments and a few managers, but they were able to get me in today. I arrived around 6 for what I thought was 12 different tests, that I again, scheduled on different and conflicting days. I walked out by nine with all my tests completed on the same day instead of having to come back a week later. The reason for the three stars is for the lack of help from other departments. Mostly due to policy instead of employees.

My brother is in ICU. The staff is very friendly and attentive. His previous doctor came to visit and check on him to make sure the compassion hasn't been lost. Amazing! Taking great care of him.

Jordan Jones

A great clean and modern hospital. I have no complaints about it.

Would like to thank Michael, at the pediatric emergency desk. He went way above and beyond to help with a workers comp glitch. His help and phenomenal memory accomplished the best results I could hope for.

Day Nurse for my Brother who is suffering from a viral infection is a joke. She comes in 1-2 times in a 12 hour shift and when the call button is pushed she ignores for almost an hour. She doesn't bother checking in in him herself but sends an assistant. Communication from the Dr is 1x per day. We should have gone elsewhere. Brittanie's level of service in the service industry doesn't cut it.

Renown is managed cash NOT managed care. As long as we allow a hospital, Renown, to own and control the insurance company, HHP, it will never be what's best for the patient. It will be what is best for the company = money!

I just delivered my baby boy early this morning and had an excellent experience with my three nurses: Erin, Grace, and Cheyenne. They listened to my concerns and took great care of me! Grace was our laboring nurse and although I was grouchy and being quite emotional she helped me through it all every step of the way. Erin helped me through getting an epidural and worked with me on getting my baby in optimal position for delivery by using different body positions. I couldn’t be more please with my experience with the nurses in L&D. Some of the other staff members where not all pleasant. My mom, sister, and nieces traveled 4 hours to come see the baby be born. Since they have never been to the hospital they clearly had no idea where they were going. They asked several nurses/doctors in the halls where labor and delivery was and they all pushed them away. However a very friendly janitor helped them up to my room! When they got to the check in desk, the nurse was very rude and said they couldn’t go back because “there were already three guests in the room”. Only me and my baby’s father were in the room. The people before us had lost our room’s badges and they took it out on my poor family because they couldn’t keep track of their items. When they went down to the cafeteria for breakfast the next morning they were served curdled milk. The cafeteria attendant told them that was “normal” and almost refused to give them a refund so they could get a drink they actually consume without getting Sick. Other than those hiccups we have had decent stay here at Renown!

This place sucks we waited for 6 hours

Such incompetent staff at the ER! They do not communicate with each other what so ever and the majority treat the patients with so much disrespect. When I took my husband there for a mental health emergency because he is a danger to himself and others, they just ship him off to jail without a second thought! He was supposed to go to a mental hospital should they discharge him, not a jail! Now, I don’t have any contact with him or know if he is okay. Here is my story: My veteran husband suffers bipolar 1 disorder, psychosis, ptsd and social anxiety. As of late, he has become a danger to himself and those around him. His greatest fear is to be abandoned, locked up in jail and alone with no family contact. It has taken so much work to convince him that he needs to get treatment at an actual mental hospital. After a rough night full of delusions, confusion, and even violence, I had to leave. I came back in the morning to check on him and he was extremely sedated and out of it. Only then was I able to get him to stumble to the car. I drove him to mental hospital where he panicked. He punched one of the staff members there. Since he was still sedated, they wanted to get him checked out at the hospital to find out how much medicine he took. Once at the ER, I told them everything that happened; That he would want to fight since he is still delusional and hadn’t slept in several days. I stayed with him to keep him calm. After a few hours, I had to run home to take care of the animals and catch a quick nap. He was supposed to be at the hospital being monitored and sleeping right?! I tell the staff to make sure he knows I am coming back. They need to remind him several times because his memory only lasts a short time. When I was finished, I called the ER to tell them, “Hey! Please let my husband know I am on my way back. Is he still okay?” To my horror, they simply tell me he is discharged. What do they mean by that? I wasn’t sure, the staff did not tell me. I was just left with the impression that they let him loose onto the streets of Reno lost and crazy with absolutely nothing. Angry, I called again and rushed down to the ER to find out what happened. Turns out, they sent him to jail for assault on an officer. Great! They didn’t even think to call me? AND the nurse who went on lunch break forgot to relay the important information to the rotating staff that he was in a violent possibly homicidal state! I am not surprised that he freaked out. While I was there, one of the female officers started yelling at him to “SIT DOWN!!!!!!” Which confrontational attitudes freak the poor guy out and set off his flight or fight instincts. Luckily one of the nice officers actually called her off and politely asked my husband to sit down which worked. Now, I am losing sleep over the fact that my mentally ill husband is in jail, still in holding. He is not receiving his medication which may make him extremely sick and cause withdrawals. Oh, did I mention that now, as sole financial provider for my husband, two infant children AND diabetic cat, I now have to figure out bail. My efforts to fix my family have completely backfired. I am looking at taking more time off of work which I really can’t afford. I can thank the incompetent renown staff for sending my husband to the wrong place and getting him lost in the system!!! I now have to figure out how to get him back on top of running a business and caring for my other family members. Please if you have issues with Renown, they need to know! Something has to change because Nevada has some of the worst health care and procedures. Renown ER didn’t help my situation, they made it worse. I can’t even contact my husband to make sure he is okay. I am worried sick! Feeling this powerless is one of the worst things in the world while my loved one is suffering. All because I tried to get him help.

The '"Qualitative Care Team"' should be in prison... They are worthless at best... They are probably responsible for a significant number of dead patients... There are some good people working there. But the hospital seems to have it's own agenda... Mom's "dementia" might be a result of a stroke she suffered at some point previously.... The doctor wanted to give my mother a feeding tube when she was capable of eating. When she was having difficulty eating they don't want to do anything... Then the took her off the hydration drip... She is eating more (but finiky)... The "Care" people suggested I bring in food for her to eat... After eating some vegetable soup with cheese from the cafeteria she is back in the heart unit... (...mother kept leaving and getting lost after becoming upset and thinking there are bad things happening near where she is... (Previously she thought mafia like people were shooting people etc..) Mother was admitted after I called the police (via the Google link) and requested a counselor (long story) because she was confused and hostile after a friend took her back her back to my (technically our place according to the lease) place unexpectedly... (She wouldn't accept that she was staying here and it was her room. It is clean with a comfortable bed in her favorite color.) The police came with EMTs. The emergency room was nice enough. They claimed she had a urinary infection, kept her for two days (apparently she doesn't have a urinary infection..?) and then wanted to discharge her without addressing the fact that she is still too confused to function... And she doesn't have any of the help she needs... And when I pointed out that I have my own medical issues and have to spend all my time trying to keep her from running away from an unseen evil they said sorry for MY problems... So this place is basically wasting money... They later did an evaluation of my mother she is waiting for a spot in a care home to open up. They have been helpful. The organizational skills to make the most of the resourses could use some work...) I was rather disappointed with the response of security when someone stole my jacket with, wallet, phone, and keys in it...

Wonderful staff great doctors everyone is real helpful

From the time I walked into this ER the doctors and the nurses staff have taken excellent care of me. Feom walking me through the Procedures step-by-step! Just showing me my lab results, to make me feel calm! A special shout out to my nurse Shawna at night and to my nurse Amy during the day you guys are awesome thank you for making me feel like a human being and family not just a name and a number

Sherri Campbell

Children's er is great

Charles Rice

I would score less if I could. They really don't know how to care for diabetics here, and the admitting nurses are rude, and really don't care. Insulin was administered at the wrong time (2 hours after a meal). They also caused a sore on her foot, which resulted in her losing a toe. Stay away if possible, or at least have your lawyer on speed dial.

Angela Jackson

Worst hospital ever! I had a major surgery there. Qualified for a grant due to low income and disability...Staff never processed my paperwork leaving a huge bill. Horribly mismanaged and unethical billing.

Rod Harries

My Dad had open heart surgery in Dec 2015....the staff was amazing!! I came from out of state to be there before, during, and after his surgery. Everyone was so nice! Even staff around the hosp helped guide me if I was lost, and even walked with me all the way to my destination!!! Cannot say enough about this hosp! Great surgeon, my dad had successful surgery!! As I am writing this review, getting ready to head back to the hosp for again another open heart surgery, this time my MOM....I feel very confident she will have a great experience as my dad did.... Renown Hospital the last 2 times I was there they did the same test. I'm disapponted with there ER department, the ER Doctor said after all the test and all his education he came up with..I'm coming down off of norco 5s I don't take enough to have a problem with my pain medication. I was in there ER for copd the first visit, the 2nd visit was my back hurt from coughing too much and I twisted my back, the doctor did the same test that was done the day before that's just unprofessional. I was treated badley by the ER Doctor and staff. There needs to be some changes with the ER department.

Hentai Hunnie

I delivered my son at Renown and all the nurses and doctors were SO nice and helpful! They are very encouraging and take very good care of your baby and you! I will definitely be returning here if we decide to expand our little family!

After chopping off my fingers in a construction accident the local hospital called ahead and sent me on a 3 hour drive to Reno to see a "hand specialist". After arriving 3 hours later sometime after midnight, as they were notified, I was then made to sit in the lobby for SEVERAL HOURS while holding my severed fingers wrapped in gauze. When they finally bring me in I find out that the "hand specialist" isn't even in so I will be operated on by a general surgeon after all... So, my hand now looks like Frankenstein's hand, my fingers have no feeling, limited movement and I can't tell where my fingers ends and my fingernails begin. Then to top it all off, their TOTALLY INCOMPETENT billing department starts sending me bills for services that Medi-Cal repeatedly confirmed was covered! THEY SIMPLY REFUSED TO BILL MEDI-CAL AND I ENDED UP HAVING MY CREDIT RUINED BECAUSE THEY NEVER GOT IT STRAIGHT! This hospital should be SUED! I worked, paid taxes and had medical insurance most of my life and the ONE TIME I don't have it I am forced to get medi-cal and am treated like a second class citizen. The general population receives HORRIBLE medical treatment in this country!

Chris Olsen

Walk in the door and they charge you 20 grand. Very, very overpriced. They delivered my baby and sent me the HUGE BILL.

Lisa J. Gifford

Renown has their priorities messed up.

Susan Small

The people are very prodessional and compassionate. Great nurses and Dr.

Andreja Harde

I worked at Renown as a nurse for 18 years but had to move out of state due to personal circumstances. I also gave birth to two babies there, and had numerous ER visits. As an insider, world traveler, and a consumer, I want the World to know that Renown has some of the best skilled nurses, doctors and ancillary staff in the industry, supported by top technology. I’ve witnessed, on several occasions, lame doctors and nurses being let go. This is the hospital that has zero tolerance for staff incompetence, so if you want to stay alive and do well after your episode, you go to Renown, listen carefully to their instructions, and take care of yourself. I can only dream of getting this level of competent care anywhere else, and would love to bring these experts along. And just for the record, if you are a diabetic and smoke, don’t follow the diet and insulin regimen, and eat junk, your toe will fall off regardless if you are at Renown, Kaiser, or John Hopkins. It’s time to start taking responsibility for yourself!

Michael Librizzi

Excellent care from doctors and staff

Jessica

Horrible service. It takes days for them to come when you push the nurse button. They never stay up on medicine. I've had to ask every single time (past when I was supposed to get it) and even when I ask, it takes another hour. Renown sucks. Go to St. Mary's.

Thomas Hicks

Worst experience in my life, my wife died in this hospital. The doctors are incompetent, and the nurses leave most of the care to the aids. I stayed by her side for days to assist her, and when we called for help it was when we can. The one time I went home to shower and put on some clean clothes, I come back and my wife is tied to the bed. My wife had fell out of bed when she tried to get to the bathroom, when no one answered her call for help. Later we found out she had broken her back in the fall, and was paralyzed. The diagnosis was wrong and her treatment was hit -n- miss at best. I wouldn't take my dog to this hospital.

Leselle Davis

Renown should be closed they over bill Insurance and don’t pay attention to patients needs they also have one of the highest fatality rates due to negligence.....

Jennifer A

If you're a travel RN, please DO NOT consider coming to Renown to work. It's one of the worst place to work for travel RNs. If you must come then stay away from Neuro surgery dept. You absolutely cannot trust the nurse manager (Randi Stark)!!! Stay away, seriously.

Margaret Marie

My father's shower had dried fecal matter in it for days before it was cleaned. Fecal matter was also left in a laundry bin for hours before being removed. He had to go days with no bath and when bathing materials were finally brought in he was left to bath himself and he is hooked up to many wires ect. They take hours to respond when asked for something. There needs to be extreme improvement in these areas!

Christine Everett

Hospital is so hard to deal with if you are looking for a patient there. The operator staff and some of their nurses are the rudest people I've ever had to deal with in a hospital setting. I will avoid this hospital at all cost and pray I never have to go there

Jordan Reyes

I have no words for the stupidity and unprofessional way they do things in this Hospital. Not all people here are idiots but a lot have no care for their patients. I waited hours for the doctor and then hours for some results it's ridiculous , I know you need patience to be at a hospital but this was too much . I'm not from Nevada but I'm staying here a little while but my experience with technically my first Nevada Hospital was terrible. I really hope you guys read these reviews.

Carlos Rosales

To all the people that got involved in my care at renown hospital. They all are a professional workers. From Doctors, physicians assistant, nurses, speech therapist, occupational therapist, Respiratory therapist, physical therapist, C N A ,s nutritionists laundry personal, maids, clerks. And the whole team around them . Its amazing the quality of work that they all do. Not even 1000 words will describe how good they are. Thank you all for the great service

leslie johnson

I have been under your treatment for terminal cancer since February. From your primary doctors, pulmonary doctors, radiation, neurology, anesthesia, rehab you have been incompetent from the beginning till now. The only staff I can speak highly of is your nursing staff. Top of the line there, if I was your physician staff I would be embarrassed.

Shannon Robert

I work there. The Nursing directors genuinely care about patients well being. They're good people.

Shelby Moorhead

I had my baby here and the nurses were amazing. There are always a select few that are rude but that's just women for ya... There is always going to be a bad Apple in the bunch no matter where you go. My baby is in the nicu as well and most of them are very sweet and know their stuff.. But i will say that i have had some problemz with a few of them because of their lack of compassion anx gentleness and some of them i feel are lazy and when you are caring for newborn babies you CANNOT be LAZY. But renown has some very good and genuine people that are working there and truly care about your health and wellbeing.

Anne Laitinen

It's a great place, the nurses really do go out of their way for you.however I think their food can improve.

Fat Bastard

I was there for 1 & 1/2 months w/a spinal staph infection and this Hosp is medically above the rest but some of nurses should be fired and others like Cara and CPA Tim were absolutely great. I rate it 70/30 medical know large is the 70%

Anthony Evans

Couldn't rate this any lower!!! The hospital is "renowned" for being slow and really should receive and overhaul in the staff. My wife was referred here by another doctor over an hour away. Here we are over seven hours later and my wife still doesn't have any pain medications to help with her dislocated jaw! The only way I feel that she would have received proper emergency care is if she was knocking on death's door. There is absolutely no sense of urgency in this hospital whatsoever! If you can, avoid at all cost! If you have to receive care here, good luck to you and I'm hoping you aren't in need of good care! You won't receive it at this hospital!

I flew in from Oregon when told my lifelong friend was in an induced coma from DKA and a serious fungal infection in her sinuses. For the first two days and nights I literally lived in her ICU room, crashing out on a sofa behind dozens of IVs, monitors, and machines keeping her alive*. I quickly became very familiar with the staff, shifts, doctors, and routines of the hospital. Every nurse and tech, without fail, asked if they could get anything for me; I was brought linen for my "nest" the first night - and this demeanor continued to be their routine throughout my two week stay with my friend's sister who had also flown in. They were constantly in my friend's room, day and night, checking on her. The doctors were all very patient in explaining and updating us and answered all questions without seeming rushed. *Renown has an on-site, full-service hotel with very reasonable rates. The room (kitchenette) was spacious, modern and the staff just great. It saved us from having to stay off-site and shuttle back and forth to the hospital. As for the hospital itself - it was spotless and gleaming everyplace we went (in two weeks, I threw the map away). I was especially impressed with the sweeping open lounge areas, cell-phone charging station (free), Brita water stations (free) and a harpist who will never know how she calmed our souls one stressful morning. There will always be some aggravations with waiting time in ERs and occasional stressed staff in any hospital but I will be using my experience at Renown as a baseline for the hospital standards of care, cleanliness and compassion. It turned a nightmare for me into a calming, confident experience and I left, knowing my friend remains in excellent care.

Renee Harris

In the last 4 weeks, I have been admitted into Renown on 4 different occasions for pneumonia, severe all-over body muscle spams/cramping, blood clots in my legs and bi-lateral pulmonary embollisms. It has been a painful and very scary time for me and my family. The excellent care I received from the doctors and nurses made all the difference in not only my physical conditions, but also my peace of mind and ability to rest and get better. Everyone, from the folks who cleaned my rooms to the dietary department to most in the respiratory department, etc., etc., were friendly, outgoing, compassionate and extremely professional. If I had to make so many stays in a hospital, I'm very glad that it was at Renown!

Sean Reyes

Just delivered our baby, super healthy, everything went smooth. I was thoroughly impressed by the service here, everyone from the tour guides, class guides, nurses, and delivery doctor. Overwhelming amount of friendliness mixed with professionalism, so grateful for everyone that made our delivery smooth as a baby's butt.

Christy Smith

I went to Renown for waking up in severe unexplained pain, mostly in my neck and throat. I was nauseous and sweating and the pain was unbearable, probably not very attractive. At Renown I was treated very badly, being mocked by staff that were very judgmental as if I were just some drug addict looking for drugs. I was told I had no symptoms and they could find nothing wrong. They sent me home feeling as though I were some low life scum. It was only after I came home that I remembered that I had brushed a black widow spider off my leg earlier that day. It's taken 3 days to recover from the worst of the pain, now I have a huge mushy spot on my leg where the tissue is damaged from the bite. I feel the staff's behavior and over-all attitude was very unprofessional, extremely judgmental and most of all if I'd have been an elderly person or young child could have been in real serious danger with the apparent lack of knowledge.

Hojak David R

DO NOT GO HERE. Renown has kept me more than fifty days for a broken arm as an inpatient, insisting that someone stay in the room with me the entire time and neglecting requests from me as the stay lengthens. At one point, they insisted I change rooms, which was right next to the front desk full of staff with my medication-resistant epilepsy to another room which was next to a wall and out of everyone's sight & I refused. I refused, and they sent in security who roughed me up and forced me to moved anyway, in the process breaking my $2000 laptop and then they've refused to help with assisting me to repair it. My stay here has been miserable, they've kept me too long and the medical staff here is belligerent. These people are beyond juvenile and incapable of care. They put favoritism and preference above duty and responsibility. DO NOT GO HERE.

Linda Santangelo

I've been at Renown in the ICU for two weeks. Quick advice---don't go there and pick a Doctor that works in another hospital.

Journey Lover

On June 12 I was sent to Renown ER on Mill from an urgent care clinic. I was in SEVERE pain due to kidney stones and a blockage to my bladder.I sat there for almost 4 hours. During that time I saw MANY people who were laughing with the staff and each other, get seen before me. Also people who came in after I did. The staff was VERY rude when I tried to find out how much longer it would be. I was finally seen, admitted, and had surgery 2 hours later. I have never seen a more poorly run ER in my 50 years of life.

One of the best places my family and I have ever been have had asthma my whole life and have been to hospitals all around the untied states so big statement. Does take a little to get in the back though and try to avoid Mondays if you can hold out.

Ryan Palermo

My father died at this bad hospital in November. He had a major stroke and we were advised to let him go, so we did. A nurse called me at about 4 AM and didn't have an ounce of compassion in her voice, announcing his passing and that we could find his body in the morgue. This lady was a jerk! Also, when my elderly mother had pneumonia once, I drove her to the emergency room and she had to wait about an hour or so to be admitted. Yet, this kid comes in with a chest cold and they zoomed him on through. When she did finally get a shared room, she said the food was God awful. Friends tell me people die unexpectedly at this "hospital" all the time, even more creepiness. Fortunately, we switched to Northern Nevada Medical Center who admit you in on a priority basis, not by how young you are. Oh, and their menu is usually excellent.

Heather Salas

I was taken to this hospital by ambulance due to a drunk driver attempting to run me down while I was walking! In the ambulance i was given medication to help with my pain and my being a bit panicked because of what had just happened to me. Upon my arrival to this hospital the doctor came in and checked on me and instructed the nurse to remove my IV from my arm. When the nurse started to question him on his decision to remove my IV and the fact I was hurt pretty bad and would require further testing and pain medication he stated that he was not going to give me anything else for pain because he didn’t want to assist a “drug seeker “ i was more angry when he said that than I’ve ever been in my life. He had no right to say that about me when he didn’t even know me! Then he discharged me even though i had severe injuries and told me to take some Tylenol and pray about my pain. I will never return to this hospital even if I’m dying!

Great hospital. Staff was great and caring. Last time I saw my dad alive. RIP dad.

Bobbie Jo Oliver

My uncle is there and due to the storm his wife, let alone any other family has been unable to make it there. These people told him he might live another 3 months. What kind of idiots can't wait until a family member is there for support before imparting news like that? Fine way to treat a veteran. This sucks.

Diana Keefe Adams

Five Star review. We had two weeks worth of experiencing the outstanding nursing care at Renown. Over the course of the two weeks, our 81 year old mom was in five different rooms (on 4 different floors) and received outstanding nursing care every step of the way. What impressed me most was how the nurses spoke to mom, even though they knew she was semi-consciousness and didn't really hear them. The spoke nothing but gentle kindness and touched her with caring hands. Every time they came into the room, they addressed her by name and introduced them selves, and told her why they were there. This behavior and treatment continued as mom improved. As family members, we too were addressed in the same professional and caring manner. All questions we had (and we had MANY) were always addressed. The first night we were in ICU the nurse brought us sheets, pillows, and blankets, and even pulled out the day bed for us. We didn't always catch the Dr when they made their rounds, but the nursing staff were always available to fill us in and relay what the Dr had said. The first night mom went to ICU, the Dr came out and spoke directly to me, explaining what had happened and what their course of action was. He thanked ME for being there, and I felt that same gratitude and appreciation from all the staff. I have taken mom to the ER on several occasions as well, and I will concede that the care in the ER is entirely different than on the floors. It isn't bad care, by any means, just far more rushed. But then, it is the EMERGENCY room.

Very nice people

County Hospital. At least they won't throw you out if you're bleeding.

Dakota Springer

I went there for my first check up for pregnancy as I had not seen anyone prior because of insurance. I get there and the lady looked like she hated her job. I was a little late and she rescheduled me ( five minutes late). And said she didn't have any openings for for another 3 weeks. Switched to saint Mary's and they got me in the next day. Even one of the nurses who used to work at renown hospital said she didn't like working there.

rick spangler

Worst experience ever..took my mom to emergency. For congestive heart failure. 8 hours and still waiting to get in. She has no control and is literally pissing on the floor. We were sent from their own urgent care in Fernley nv. All they had to say to us is they are too busy so we could go elsewhere. They said they are not allowed to say that. So I assume it is just money first, patients dead last...

I'm 4 Staring Renown They Do Stereotypeing some Doctors Very Abusive But Nurses and Staff are wonderful I heal well here after leaving ER and put in a room The Professional Shine Awesomenss Thank You

I was hospitalized here because I caught an exceptionally bad case of pneumonia that caused my entire left lung to collapse. I was scared, in massive amounts of pain, and just generally not having a fun couple of weeks. It was a bad situation, but it would have been worse without the absolutely phenomenal nursing staff at Renown. They were always there for me, they cared, they always took the time to explain what was going on, and constantly went above and beyond to make sure that I was okay. I cannot possibly thank them enough.

Keith Farrar -Haygar-

Amazing attention to you health detail, Most hospitals just treat an release, i almost had to do a jail break because they were checking everything including my other problems to make sure i was OK to leave. Incredibly attentive staff, and food was awsome

John Shearer

I am unhappy with being charged over 7500 dollars for a CT scan since Imaging is not in network. I went to the billing department in person and the only thing I could do was complain to the governor of Nevadas office according to the Renown billing department customer service rep. You can google CTScans and find the prices from 500-2500 with an average one on the 1250 dollar range. My scan was for my pelvis area, not brain or spine. Why does the hospital feel like they can charge me 5-10x the market rate of this scan?! I am a midtown Reno home owner and from now on I will never take my family to any of Renowns locations. I hope you enjoy your egregious use of power over me when I was ill. It will be your last cent I give to Renown for the rest of my life. Good bye.

I love this hospital the level of care and quality service I always get here makes it a little easier during each visit when my health has me feeling bad. I have had multiple surgeries, admissions, ER visits here the staff really cares about you and your health the vibe is awesome. They have a parking area that is easy to access for hospital area that has security there is a valet parking area at the ER entrance, the wait time isn't that bad and is worth the service I promise

My daughter has been admitted to this hospital almost 20 time in her lifetime and have I left many positive comments. We have had excellent nurses and treatment. Sadley today when we came into the ER (after my daughter was discharged less then 24 hours ago due to Type 1 diabetes and DKA) at 11:30 due to her symptoms returning and her showing all symptoms of DKA again, we had the very unpleasant experience of dealing with Albert. He is the person who takes vitals apon entering the ER. My daughter was sick and only getting worse. Literally entering a life threatening situation and Albert was anything but helpful. He was rude and I truly believe he stalled treatment for my daughter. He upset me terribly and I do not upset easily. This man should not be working in an industry that needs understanding and kindness. I only hope God, The Universe or Karma teach him what it is like to be in need of medical help and what it’s like to be treated so very badly.

Cody Mitchell

They definitely beat st. Mary's or any other hospital in Reno

BigMcDee

Disgusting sick people who will try to steal your newborn children over a mistake that they made!!! We got lucky and all made it out as a family. Don’t go here, have your kids at home, run from renown. If you’re dying, stay home. You’ll probably have better chances of surviving. If you’re having a baby, but you actually value life, have your kids at home. Do it. Don’t think about it. I’d give renown much worse than one star if I could.

George Ashby

I had a full right hip replacement done, had a great nurses and Doctors!!!!!

Zackery Iverson

Best hospital i EVER been too. Great service and wonderful nurses

Sara Jordan

Almost killed me!!! I went into the ER with a chronic flair of an autoimmune disease, I’m on immune suppressants, I had a temp of 102, and an elevated heart rate. There are some details that I will spare you because they are a little tmi and ¬personal. I was incredibly sick, the kind of sick you die from. Dr. Shields gave me IV fluids (which was good) morphine (bad) and after telling me how healthy I was wrote me a prescription for oxy (bad). He told me I could come back if I still wasn’t feeling good, but who in the right mind would go back to a hospital that couldn’t figure it out the first time. I ended up fleeing Reno and going to UCLA where I knew I could get help. My temp was ping ponging between 102-103. When I got to UCLA told them what was going on I was admitted immediately, and spent 8 days there trying to get healthy, with a blood infection. So I called Renown Service Excellence Person Jessica Mirini 4 days ago, and multiple times. You’d think after killing someone they’d at the very least call you back. It really sends the message we don’t care. The nurse at renown said, “ER doctors are trained to treat and not to diagnose.” Clearly not this hospital but most are places where sick people go to get better. Jessica you should be fired along with everyone else that doesn’t care. BTW UCLA apologized several times for your mistakes. It’s embarrassing.

I went here because I have a swollen occipital lymph node for over a week with no other symptoms. My RN friend suggested I get it checked out.. I got put in a room right away, did not ask me any questions regarding heath history, did not have a nurse in at all my whole visit. Finally, the doctor came in and told me that it was a swollen lymphnode which could be a sign of cancer, not to worry unless it gets bigger in which case he said to go to my doctor and have it removed. I am NOT from Nevada so I had no other choice but to come here. This hospital was dirty, they don’t care about your wellbeing and never asked any questions! I was not even instructed to put a gown on. All I wanted was my white blood cells checked and antibiotics if needed. Not to be told not to worry about it. When I informed the doctor that it was hurting, he told me “because you’re thinking about it.” How is this place still running? Definitely get way better care in Michigan.

I was there for 3 days amazing place with great girls and guysn women on the 8th floor all The R n's and CNA's wereWere amazing people is specially Patrick He was an amazing guy took very good care all staff were very professional I had an operation on my neck doctor Albright she great and very easy to look at, all in all they made a bad situation a lot easier to handle. All the nurse's that took care of me in room 824 bed 2 I can't thank them enough for their help

While the care and treatment were fabulous, errors by the Renown billing department have turned our experience there into a nightmare. We would now got to St. Mary's if hospitalization were necessary. Renown continuously had errors in the submission of the insurance claim and were thus denied payment by our carrier. Despite numerous conversations between us, BC/BS and Renown the hospital continued to wrongly submit the claim. Right at the time they finally got this right, they turned it over to a collection agency. We are now being penalized on our credit report for Renown's mistakes. Adding to the frustration--they refuse to correct the problem. HORRIBLE.

My 2 year old daughter drank cough syrup while our back's were turned and we weren't sure how much, so poison control suggested we take her to the ER to have her blood drawn. We took her to the Renown Children's ER and were promptly seen and blood was drawn. Her labs came back clean and we were discharged. We were at the ER less than 4 hours and the Dr. on call spent less than 5 minutes with her checking her vitals. The care we received was OK. My 1 star review is because of the high rate Renown charged for their service. I have insurance and pay monthly premiums, but unfortunately my high deductible plan left us with a bill for more than $4000.00. I looked up the fair price for a level IV Emergency visit at HealthCare Bluebook, and saw that Renown has a much higher chargemaster rate then the National average. I have called several times and spoken to many different people at Renown who all tell me the same thing: they don't negotiate. I think it is ridiculous that I am forced to pay a higher rate then my own insurance would, or more than someone who doesn't have insurance. I want to pay and settle this bill, but for a fair price. In the future when I am put in an Emergency situation I will be going to Carson Tahoe Health.

Calvin Presson

Very good staff and they actually listen to what you tell them unlike Saint Marys

Michelle Boehme

EVERYONE was helpful and kind when my son skied into a tree and broke his leg... the Valet who told me how to get to the pediatric ER, the receptionist in the ER who made repeated phone calls to find out and keep me appraised of my son's progress to Reno in the ambulance, the trauma team who met him and explained everything that was going on to both of us, and all of the doctors and nurses and aides and Physical and Occupational therapy personnel and even the cleaning person in the pediatric unit. As painful as the experience was, it couldn't have gone better as a result of the genuine caring of all the people at Renown Hospital.

Liv Lopshire

I just spent several hrs in ER..There was two people ahead of me..they took 20 people before I finally left. I have very painful Pacreatitus..I was very upset and tried to leave, no don't leave she says..a room just opened up for you..so the next two people were called back that were sitting there joking around. .Triage is a joke..when I then dicided to leave..she says don't you want to see a Dr.? I said apparently you don't deem my pain significant enough for me to be seen.. Go somewhere else if you want health care..you won't get it here! L Lopshire

I've been waiting for 65 minutes for a blood draw. I would not have stayed if notified sooner it would be a long wait. One friend wasn't able to get a diagnosis for months, and ended up at ucsf emergency to get a diagnosis... Small cell lung cancer. Another friend was told she has cancer, and didn't have cancer... for six weeks, uncertain what type and whether. She has cancer and is getting treatment in Arizona because this team fumbled too many times.

Ethin Rowett

My brothers grandma was ignores while while being treated for lung cancer and pushed back into her room. Terrible people

Todd Moore

I must say I was there quite a few times for myself and others even family over the years and they did great. 9.9 or just call it a 9.10. nothing is perfect but that is as close as you get.

DJ Rufo

Renown’s use of inexperienced University of Reno doctors shows. The have no tact when speaking to patients, and are beyond condescending. They look at anything rare as a medical study without asking consent of the parent. They keep patients longer than needed just to make a few extra bucks from insurance. Will NEVER take anyone in my family there again.

Martin Halnan

On 5/12/18 @ 2:30pm I went to the emergency room with a severe burn on my foot. I had second degree burn wounds about the size of your palm. They said that all the rooms were full and I would to have to wait. I dripped on the floor with bodily fluids for 30-45 mins before I was seen. Then I was pushed back into the waiting room, to wait for a room. Took another 30 to 45 minutes for a room and a Doctor to even see me. I was waiting to be discharged. Then they came in and asked if I could be pushed into the hall for another customer. They pushed me in the hall for a drunk mother-to-be who was pregnant. Go Society! I waited in the hall for another hour and 15 minutes before I was discharged, which they told me it wouldn't take more than 15 minutes. I really wish my stupid healthcare plan was NOT involve with Walmart/renown... Renown has the highest death rate per patient for a reason.

Bradley Johnson

Such a horrible facility. I've been battling the billing department for over a year now and they're still making up costs for me to pay. I asked for an itemized bill and never received it. They only would send the bills from different departments. When I finally got my insurance to pay they didn't link together all the accounts together now I'm having to pay the other bills to a collections agency.

raymond Bretz

Son had scheduled operation at 7:30am. Went to recovery at 9:30am it’s 2:08pm and the hospital still has not got him a room !! Same old story Medical staff excellent, hospital administration the worst of any hospital in Reno/Sparks. I have been in them all either as a patient or visiting. I don’t know why this happens on a continuous basis but it does.

Diana A

Waited in ER for 6 hrs for my bf to be seen. He has an ulcer and has been having sharp pain & vomiting blood for the past 2 days. Even after having been seen by them the day before and had medications prescribed to him. Very slow and unorganized staff and many patients in pain waiting for so long to be seen. A girl had to have a seizure for them to get their asses somewhat moving. Im pissed

JUANITO ZERVOULAKOS

It was a good feeling! All the Doctors are concerned. All the staff are so friendly, Specially to all nurses and assistance who taken care of me " Thank You " God bless u' All!

David Allen

This place is purgatory. It took us more than four hours just to get out of the ER and into the back area where we had to wait even longer just to see a doctor for an assessment that only required a few minutes. The level of incompetence and disorganization is unprecedented. I have never seen a hospital with a worse run ER infrastructure. This place is an utter disgrace.

Jody Ballard

My son was taken here by ambulance after having a skiing accident and the staff was very helpful, understanding and took very good care of him. He had head trauma and they got him in right away and took great care of him and us! They got him in for a CT scan quickly and it was not too long before the Dr. was in to explain what it showed. Dr. Morkin was busy, but very professional and explained things so that we could understand it. If you ever find yourself in the situation of needing a hospital, I would highly recommend Renown.

Brittany Ward

The best hospital locally in My opinion

Lordwinter 15

Waiting room takes to long to get through cause renown wants to let you die before they take you back to be seen by a doctor .Then the doctors make excuses not to see you or they take forever to get to you and you end up walking out and going to a different medical facility for help as I have done multiple times . Go to saint marys med center if you want good medical care and decent wait times .

TheDingels Andrea David

Great doctors, nurses, staff, and even occasionally live music to help you get through your hospital visit

Jordan espil

If you like being treated like a paycheck, this is the place for you! Complete disregard for patient care/health concerns, HIPAA violations, ROI and PHI go right out the door. I was in the ER SIX times over the last week. Only ONE doctor I saw actually cared about my care. If you're willing to play Russian roulette with your quality of care, go for it! Note for the owner: I have filed several complaints already and was dismissed more than once. When I told the clinical directing nurse for the south meadows emergency room that the only reason I continue to be seen here is because renown has all my medical records, she so kindly emailed me how to obtain my medical records so I could go somewhere else. One day, your lack of care will kill someone. At least I know it won't be me.

Jan Reyes

The i c u was terrible my friend was left sitting in their own feces for hours with open wounds how could they do that to someone ....I cleaned him up .The night before the graveyard nurse went above and beyond for both of us but the day shift did not care at all he has been here since tuesday and no bath even .he is a paralized veteran .after i pointed out to the nurse what i cleaned they moved him to the 5th floor ..still no bath either

Eloy Jacinto

This by far the worst emergency hospital I've been sent to. We arrived at 4pm is 9:23 pm and still in the waiting room. I'm leaving to st Mary's hospital hopefully I have better luck over there. I fell really bad for the other people that were in the waiting room with me.

Holly Ratchford

This is the second time someone I love was flown to Renown. The stress of being so far from home and dealing with illness is elevated by the kind and understand staff. Thank you

Jo Curtice

Wonderful blessing for all those whose are in need of absolute excellent care. The hotel with in the hospital is convenient, clean and cheap. Thank you all.

Amber And Travis

ER SUCKS. no one even seems to care. But these 5 stars goes to the whole labor and delivery team. 2nd and 3rd floor. Incredibly helpful

Jason Murray

Had both my daughter's here staff was very nice and helpful

I have had two experiences lately with Renown. The first was for out patient cardiac ablation. It started with the RN on duty prepping me for the procedure and tried 4 times to insert the IV. I would think after a third attempt this nurse would have asked for help. I might also mention that she made the procedure quite painful! Now I get blood drawn quite frequently so I know how it should feel. I finally had to ask the nurse to PLEASE get someone to help her, which she did and this person got it into the vein first attempt! Then during the actual procedure, the tube apparently pulled out of my vein which resulted in me feeling what they were doing in my heart. I had told them that my arm hurt but they wouldn't listen. After my visit to Renown, I was sent a questionnaire from that department asking me about the service they provided. I answered very honestly and never heard back from them! I am assuming the questionnaire I replied to ended up in the garbage! Here is my take: the hospital is understaffed, thereby some of the nursing staff there work 12 hour shifts. The anesthesiologist walked into the sterile cardiac ablation room with his jacket on- so no way was he observing sterile conditions. I recommend that you become a strong medical advocate for yourself and if unable to do this, make sure a person that cares about you can. If you are having serious health issues, surgery, make sure your loved one stays overnight if you are unaware of what is going on! That could save your life!

music maker nic

They are very bad at what they do the doctor mixed up my grandmothers file and gave her the wrong medicine, killing her.

Joy Byfield

Been waiting for ever I miss Kaiser and they don't have nothing for anybody who is allergic to wheat so I have to starve now. I'm back and they promised me room of my own and they said they were cleaning it and getting it ready for me lying bastards they gave it to somebody else the worst hospital I ever been in I Still Miss Kaiser

Alisha Siu

Gave birth here 7 years ago, still feel sadness regarding my experience here. The nurses treated me like I was a little sister who irritated them greatly. One anesthesiologist accused me of using hard IV drugs because I have a scar on my arm from many hospital visits and many many IV fluids and blood drawn, apparently I scar easily. Doesn't mean I use or used iv drugs I was 5 months pregnant when was accused of this, I was there to have emergency gallbladder surgery! I had also survived a horrific domestic violence while pregnant that almost took my and my unborn babies life. Life was stressful to say the least. This experience was not a positive one. They even kept my baby for 4 hours after birth to "bathe him" I had to walk into the nursery after being told not to walk (I was pumped full of magnesium to prevent stroke) to get my son after 4+ hours. He is coming up on his 7yh birthday next month and I still feel the anxiety and sadness regarding this hospital experience. The nurses were more than rude.only a handful were kind and helpful. The rest were judgemental and passive aggressive. I am pregnant again now and will not have anything to do with this hospital if my life depended on it.

Sam Foster

I'm writing for my brother who is in the emergency room right now waiting to be seen before he dies. He had back surgery two weeks ago, was sent home then his wound began to drain and was in horrible pain. Went back to the hospital to have it drained and to see what kind of infection he had. That was the start of hell. Not one person in this whole hospital cares about their job, communication, follow thru. NOTHING ! He can't get hold of his surgeon, and any person he deals with "doesn't have the authority" to give him what he needs. He needs someone to look at his back and give him some relief. The place is unsanitary, cold and not a place of healing !

C Ireland

The Health Care Center has the best people who care for your well being!!!!!!

Bion Towne

Maybe I'm just lucky but I don't think I've ever had to search too far for parking. My doctor is in the office tower across the pedestrian bridge that connects to the parking garage. All the handicap parking that I'm aware of is on the second floor, in front of or near by the bridge. The hardest part of the whole visit is getting in and out of the garage without getting into a fender bender. People are in such a hurry or probably shouldn't be driving or both. I feel like I've cheated death every time I'm there.

Jessica Topete

This place sucks especially the childrens er. Everytime i come here they give you the run around. Dont take your children here if you can avoid it because the nurses and doctors do not do a great job of taking care of your children. The only nurse that knows what shes doin and i great at her job is Marcy she works in the childrens er and she is the only one that you can trust.

Sarah Mitchell

Hope this makes you think twice before giving birth here. I had my son Michael at renown hospital on sep.16 and it was horrible I’m forever scarred and will most likely not have a kid again because the experience was so negative. I cried the whole time and after birth I told them it was a terrifying experience, everyone in the room acted like because I wasn’t dead that how they work on people during birth is ok it absolutely wasn’t. For starters they didn’t listen to one work I said because they wanted to squeeze as much money as possible from me.. I have tremendous back pain because the nurse/ anesthesiologist pulled the band so tight across my back and belly that it popped my water an put me into progressive labor because they didn’t want to wait for my water to break on its own. I could see everything they were doing as I was pushing without contractions and the doctors was rotting her hands all in side and around my Vagina and She was also tugging on my placenta cord and only wait 28 mins before extract it and filling someone inside you pulling it out 2 times is horrible, they forced my labor and delivery in to 25 mins total. After I was done I couldn’t stop crying because I was so discussed by what happened I wouldn’t even hold my baby which I’m so angry they robbed me of my first day of his life. The nurses laughed at me because I was crying which was completely unprofessional of them. They popped the blood vessels in both my babies eyes because they didn’t wait for contractions.they gave me bruised armed because the nurses didn’t want to call the anesthesiologist in my room early in the morning. The people who helped me breastfeed didn’t tell me or help me at all,all they did is piss off and starve my baby for the 10 hours before we left because he couldn’t latch. They are also wouldn’t give me donated breastfeed when I asked because Michael wouldn’t stop crying long enough to eat the whole stay I was there. I wish I never gave birth here because I cry in the shower every time I think about my stay there and I have back pain after also 3 months after birth, I’m so afraid to have sex because of the placenta retrieval an how violent it was pulled. I’m sure there’s more I just want remember it because I’m so scared every time I go back to thinking about my experience. Do not give birth here you will regret it.

William G

I was hurt and they helped out. Good service.

Denea Garcia

The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. The service is terrible. With an extremely high blood pressure upon triage the patient is left in the waiting room for more than 4 hours and then the charge nurse wanted us to wait another 37 minutes to voice our concern. These are sick people your ignoring! You should be ashamed of yourself Renown!

robert west

I have to be here due to my son being admitted this week leukemia. I placed my things in the parking garage per s acuity checked on it less then two hours and everything I own was stolen when told security they say they can't do anything ... 3 bikes differ times and now 2 suitcases and 3 duffelbags all my food tent tarps everything that was worth anything is gone......

Amber Osburn

They usually have a short wait. They run a lot of test & try to help you. Overall not a bad ER.

BlackWidow Dancer

Was n and out n 45 mins with Cray and stitches...

brandy shaw

I waited 6 hours in the ER and they treated my issue like it wasn't a major issue! The nurses called other patients who arrived after me to go ahead of me. I didn't feel important and I was feeling really upset about myself too! If I could give a 0 I would!

Elise Weatherly

Trying to reach Emily to discuss the latest problems encountered at the hospital She responds via FaceBook but I can't seem to track it down.

Anam Kinsey

I've been coming here for years now. I want to say that aside from one hugely important and relatively easy to fix (and apparently easier to ignore) problem, I would give Renown a 5 star rating. But they have a layout system designed by and continually reviewed by people with a extremely incomprehensible sense of direction. Out of maybe 50 visits I have gone direct to my destination less than ten. I don't get lost easy, but some crew of geniuses make it so simple to do it here that it will boggle your mind. As we all know, there are many plans that other big institutions use that work to get patients to their desired location quickly; yet Renown prides themselves on a layout that I have found also inconceivable to many of its own staff. Help/Info desks are often not staffed. Directory maps remain hidden. Intelligent or at least clearly stated building naming really is depressing, often a mystery to those who forgot to peruse the locations in a helicopter beforehand. So be warned, if you have an appointment and you think 10 minutes to get from the parking lot should be enough time, you are most likely wrong. If you plan on asking for directions when you arrive, also probably not wise to depend on. Even now, knowing where all of my doctors are, I still get lost and usually spend 30 minutes running several miles around the complex. If anyone at Renown, want any suggestions feel free to contact me. I've had many hours over the years to devise several. I still visit, but I have learned to plan on lots of exercise in the process.

WhatsItLike !

Wow is medical care slow these days. Got there at 6pm for something that wasn't too big of a deal left at 10 past midnight. Saw doctor/nurse combined 12 minutes. The people were nice enough.

Lily Weaver

Worst hospital in the world there all day they were gonna admit us for strep throat my 4 year old took blood from her er doctors are stupid got up to children hospital floor doctor are great found out what was going on gave us meds sent us home hate that place I give 0 stars Nurses are very rude ..

Walter Hall

Unfortunately I've been there several times but I won't go anywhere else. Ive gotten the best care than anywhere Ive ever been. Everyone regardless of their profession are the most sincere, caring, friendly and humble humans I've ever met.

Anastasia Carter

Beautiful but extra long wait.

Edith O

we were very happy, good care, compassionate, good humor, all well balanced and a good experience considering the circumstances

Chlelsea Schlegel

We were at Renown after my husband fractured his spine and damaged his spinal cord due to a snowboarding incident and is paralyzed below his waist (for now, spinal cord injuries are weird). He got surgery the next day and Dr. Perrin did an amazing job, healed up amazing and all the doctors we have seen since, have agreed his work was top notch. We were in the ICU for about 8 days, and those ICU nurses are absolutely amazing! All of them were great but Larissa and Ashlee definitely stood out! They were the absolute best! They went above and beyond to make our crazy situation comfortable! We always felt like we were in good hands.

Maria Ashlee

DO NOT GO HERE. Worst hospital in town. The staff is unhelpful. They don't actually take care of the issue you're having just give you antibiotics and send you on your way.

Tina Dunnuck

Between early morning Emergency visit to Labor and Delivery my family was well taken care of.

Mario Pietrangelo

Tried to make an appointment with my PC Physician in Carson city. First reached message saying they were out to lunch this was 1:30 Pm and then got switched over to a recording indicating the box was full. Call Reno central office for an appointment and was told that the sooner appointment for any physician was out 30 days. Told her that was poor service and she said the best she could do was 21 days. Asked to talk to customer service and they arranged an appointment the next day. Also, it took me 6 months to arrange to see a different PC Physician which I am seeing July 19 th for the first time in Reno. Horrible and negligent service. This is worst than socialized medicine.

Betty Bergfalk

Excellent care in ER twice recently, followed by 8 day stay on 2 different surgical floors.

Jason Putnam

Every person my wife and I have come in contact with from financial aid to the surgical team have all shown great care and concern. I have been to the best hospitals in Los Angeles, CA, and the care that was provided at this hospital far surpasses all of them.

Clayton Powell

I brought in my spouse when they were complaining of chest pains radiating down the left arm and left side of face. These are classic symptoms of a heart issue. My spouse has a history of heart problems and recently had a left hemisphere bleeding stroke. We were here on vacation from Ohio. Since there were two potentially serious health problems, this was a complicated diagnosis. The staff took the pain seriously, was able to access our medical records from back home and did a thorough battery of tests. Fortunately, nothing serious showed up. Every step of the way we were informed about what was going on with the tests. The nursing staff was awesome!

Somebody please give Frank (He said he was a runner) a major raise, an award, a party or something! This guy needs to teach some of these doctors a thing or two about positive bedside manner, and encouragement. He removed a ring that my son ignorantly got stuck on his finger in the emergency department without belittling him NOR attempting to scare the crap out him like they did at St. Mary's Urgent Care in South Reno by Galena. He removed it within 5 minutes with the exact same tool the drama Dr. at St. Mary's urgent care said was impossible 30 minutes prior. He reassured us that sometimes things happen and said things like "no worries" even if we did look like idiots in an emergency room with a swollen purple finger with a stupid ring stuck on it!!! Thank you Frank! He said it was a PLEASURE to get the ring off because he needed to work on his forearms. Thank you so MUCH Frank. You are much appreciated!!

Bob Azevedo

They saved me and my wife's lives after a terrible car accident this summer. Excellent care and friendly staff.

Nikki Prudhomme

Very upsetting experience with Dr. Jacobs. Was in the emergency room Wednesday with terrible abdominal pain and right side pain. Dr. Jacobs said I’m fine without doing any exam or listening to me, sends me home and tells me to go to the pregnancy center the next day. Get to the pregnancy center the following day and Dr. Condon suspected I had a ruptured ectopic and sends me back to the emergency room. Dr. Jacobs was the OB at the hospital again. I get another ultrasound and he was in the room for it and he immediately states “You’re going on the operating room young lady” At this point I’m obviously confused and terrified because I’m being told several different thing by different doctors and now all the sudden there’s an emergency? So I go into surgery and he removed my right fallopian type which apparently wasn’t even ruptured so who knows if this is even the cause of the pain I’m having. Waiting to speak to Dr. Jacobs the next day while in recovery. When he gets there he doesn’t explain ANYTHING! He simply stated what pain meds he’s prescribing and that I’m am NOT to return to the emergency room for any issues but to take them up with the pregnancy center. He didn’t tell me anything I should be expecting from post surgery or when I should be feeling better. By the way I’m out of it because my oxygen was 86% and the nurse gave me a pain pill. He didn’t stay in the room longer then 3 minutes. There was no information on my discharge paperwork and the nurse had no answer. So I’m going home after surgery with no information other then to resume normal activities. Now I’ve been home for about 8 hours and I suddenly got really dizzy and faint, have a fever, rapid heart rate, and bleeding heavily. Now remember he instructed me NOT to go to the ER with any issues and I have no post op information to go off of. So I call his answering service and he was on call. He instructed the answering nurse to tell me to look on the back of my insurance card and call the nurse help line in there. He doesn’t care at all. He is far too complacent and incredibly unprofessional.

Mark Edwards

I have trouble with my troaht. They send me to a G.i. doctor. They still mess up troaht. Can't eat normal. It almost a year. Losing weight. Do they care about adult. To me they want money.

Danna Myers-Hook

Renown has a policy that they will not bill insurance for physicals, even if your insurance covers them under wellness/preventative coverage. Instead they charge you a flat fee of $50. So now instead of my insurance covering my children’s preventive care I have a bill of $150. Is this suppose to encourage me to seek preventive care for my kids? It doesn’t. One of two things will happen, either I will not bring my kids in and could then compromise their health and cost renown more if something could have been prevented or I will leave renown health and take my insurance dollars elsewhere.

ginovsgia cali

They dont clean up ... my friends been there 3days from car accident and they still have same blood on them .... no bath change of clothes or offer to help them do so .. may not sound like much bt what if it was your friends or family

Steven Morrison

Awesome

Melissa Cahill

The most ridiculous experience I have ever been in. The wait isn't as long as Carson Tahoe but the care and the establishment is disgusting . They don't triage the patients properly . The doctor/intern didn't know what the hell he was doing and waiting 5 hours to see a doctor in the dirty room is ridiculous. I would definitely save the headache and go 20 minutes to a different hospital or st Mary's

Nurses threaten you with security it's a constant power Trip with the 2nd shift nurses they talk behind your back they talk about other patient in front of you when there on the floor they make sure not to be on there phones but as soon as there in the room it's straight to there phones trying to hide it from management like the patients don't know you aren't supposed to being on your phone they force you to do things you don't wanna do or you aren't comfortable doing and if you don't they will call security on you to make you do it security said that oh we're here to protect patient and staff but that's not true patients always lose and staff always win there rude and disrespectful will never come back to this hospital ever again if I could give this place 0

If i could rate lower then 1 i would. Was at the ER with my husband we enter and the nurses were helping a patient very disrespectful to ask us what were in for while helping a patient. Poor lady she was just so ill throwing up they just had her sitting there not really caring for her they seemed disgusted with her they could of just took her in a room so no one see her throwing up cause that is pretty nasty but NO they take her to the lobby and so. She layed there on like 3 to 4 chair. Also the lobby was a mess they told my husband it was going to be a 6 hour wait maybe like 4 people were in the loby. We get to a room it smelled nasty omg the room was just in terrible condition the chair was ripped and got scratches on my leg from it

ER was horrible. I went in with a burst vertebrae. I was walking on my own when I arrived but after the first x-ray was put on spinal precautions due to an unstable fracture. No one said anything and told me I could continue to walk around and use the bathroom and that I would be going home shortly. It wasn't until the surgeon came in and noticed they had my bed sitting up did anything change which included me getting myself out of bed and walking for a ct scan. Once the surgeon came in every thing changed to no you can't move or do anything and you can't sit up and you are definitely not going home for awhile. After this happened an ICU nurse was assigned to me and everything became great. The ICU took great care of me and the surgery went great. The nurses in the Neuro Science department were all great with the exception of one who decided that I didn't need my pain pills, due to the pain pills and extreme pain I unfortunately don't remember any names. Besides that the only downfall was being stuck in the Neuro Science department with loud and annoying roommates. It was no ones fault those patients didn't know what was going on or what they were doing and the Neuro Surgery area was full. All in all once I got out of the ER everything was great the nurses were extremely nice and helpful, except one, and in the end I can still walk so I guess I'm lucky

Came in to urgent care early in the morning explaining I might be going through a miscarriage. Its 2pm and I've still yet to been seen and have only received rude comments and treatment from the nurses and check in staff. They've consistently changed the number of people ahead of me when I've asked and refuse to even really care about my situation or what im experiencing, I feel. When a young woman is sitting in your waiting room bleeding chunks from her genitals( which has never been normal in her history) you should take into consideration the severity. But I made the mistake of coming to renown. Never coming back, with how I've been treated thus far.

If there were a minus 1, this place would get it. Horrible service, just awful. If there was a way to attach a photo I took of the room in the ER...GROSS!

A very nice hospitable medical center

Im only rating five stars for the RN Andrea that is working her but off with no breaks to help my father that just got in today and his condition got worse and from him being sick for three weeks and when he came to find out what was wrong they didnt do any real tests to see what was wrong on 3/7 and Now he's heart stopped 4 times and he's lung collapse and had to have a chest tube put in and his heart rate is not racing as much as before. So i hope they give her a raise.

Watch out for the Billing Dept. They offer deals with reduction of your bill, then bait you into compliance, until the switch up. I have no insurance coverage outside of Los Angeles, so I gave that info and they offered me a $700 reduction on my emergency bill. They then added it back in after some idiot at my insurance paid $24 toward my $2300 bill to RENOWN. I spent HOURS today trying to get them to see reason of the cruelty of that. I am paying the full bill, without reduction. No insurance. Verified by L.A. Care. Still RENOWN cruelly refuses to see that I am uninsured outside of Los Angeles County for emergency services.

Angie Lemus

you know what sucks PEOPLE CAN BE DYING, sent to the ER and yet they take their sweet ass time attending people. hurry up your a hospital

Robert Leedom

Service was great for the first 2 days, everyday after that gets worse and worse staff is terrible and full of attitude they don't inform you that they are switching med times or anything half my face isn't moving now and I've been waiting 6 hours so far to hearrive back on it and nothing so far I can't even walk yet cause my head was crushed yet I'm being treated like drug addict who lives on the streets, I don't recommend this hospital to anyone go somewhere else you will be better off!

This is probably THE ABSOLUTE WORST place to come to if you are sick or injured! when I went there with a broken leg: they sent me away with a disk of x-rays and told me to call an orthopedic surgeon on Monday; (forget about the fact that it's nearly impossible to get an orthopedic surgeon to see you without a referral... I was lucky enough to already have an appointment for a different issue) ... After viewing the x-rays on the disk, he walked into the room (already shaking his head) and the first thing he said to me was... "I am so sorry"... (I'm certain that he was "so sorry" that it was Renown that I trusted to seek medical care at. I do have other stories I could tell about this place; and they would go far beyond just what I experienced as a patient (multiple times). It would take me WEEKS to to tell the stories and I just don't have the time... (I have to work to pay those bills). I'll conclude this rant by saying that I'm about to go check out a friend that I brought there (with a broken clavicle), (yesterday)... and is being told he can get surgery the day after tomorrow... We'll finish this up at Saint Mary's...

Good place to go for medical appointments

The emergency room is absolutely horrible. Adult side as well as pediatric are non compassionate and too hurried. Myself as well as my son have been misdiagnosed. My son was also injured from a physician in the children's ER.

My husband was in icu for 74 days. Nurses did an awesome job taking care of him. I was at the hospital everyday. He is alive and getting better every day. Life is good. Nice parking lot. Security is very helpful too. They are always driving around.

Ass Fuck

With a name like “Renown” I figured this would be a top tier established. This was the grossest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It smelled like old gravy and cleaning supplies. The room service was very slow, and the food in the diner was bland. When I got the bill it was $10,000! Never staying here again.

Alaina Rew

Had to go here for a quick visit, all went smoothly. The staff was nice and efficient.

Thank you for the good care, professional service, for love Beautiful nurses WOW GOD BLESS YOU RENOWN REGIONAL MEDICAL SENTER

Okay so to begin you have to realize that this is a hospital and not a hotel even though they have what they call the Renown Hospital Inn. Anyways due to a softball size tumor in my head i was forced to live here for 1 month with several more surgeries here which so far has now been 9 months and counting. Fortunately i live very close by and the at home care is working out for me. That all said I like to point out that this is one of the best hospitals overall that I've ever stayed at. The nurses especially Courtney was very attentive to my needs and dealt with any negative issues along the way. Next their immediate care has been exceptional to date and everyone is more than willing to help you out with ANY issue you have. Now there are some negative issues but it's not at all the staff's fault. I just needed to clear that up. First issue is food. The only thing worth having is the turkey pot pie but they only serve that on Thursday so order two if you're there on those days spending the night. Trust me you won't regret it. Next issue and again this is not the staff's fault by any means but on some days and some nights i would have really long wait times for surgeries and really long wait times when i need something done. But like i said this is a hospital and not a hotel and there are many many many more people here than you so longer wait times are unavoidable and the staff is doing the best job possible to get to you ASAP. Be patient they're doing their best. My final issue and i personally think that this is more my issue than anything else but those Wifi and smoke detection lights on the ceiling are way too bright for my taste. Other than that i really love the care and how wonderfully designed this hospital is. Hope you don't have to visit but if you do, you'll be treated very well.

They saved my life when i had a major stroke so ty for saving my life

My Dad was Life Flighted from Alturas with 15% function of his heart. The Doctors, Nurses, and specialist at this hospital have been amazing and the best bedside manners I have seen. God bless all of these amazing medical providers. Thank you all.

Very progressive. Lots of seminars and groups. They teach you how to be healthy. Never had to stay overnight but I've had friends that have. My take is you try to avoid being a patient. But if you are it's where you want to be.

Went with broken thumb to urgent care. Renown billed it as routine office visit so I would have to pay cash - not covered by insurance. I had Hometown Health paid through end of month with my daughter on account. She had an appointment last day of month. After several dozen phone calls and them turning her over to collections, I gave up and paid it. Really impossible Collections office and billing department!

Chris King

a waste of time in the ER I was in more pain when I left than when I arrived. and they misdiagnosed what I had gone for

Some compassionate physicians others need to not pay attention to what they may or may not kmow about a persin whose reputation is made public and answer the question at hand with the kindness, tenerness and love that they would put upon their family if their family wascin hospital. Doctor's jobs and nurses jobs are easy. If we support them they will support us. We

Worst experience with their billing phone line. They messed up my billing statement, i paid the bill, and they send me the same amount in statement again, and my family paid it again. When we found out duplicated payment one week later, I called them, and the billing lady Charlie was so rude, assume me not paying their bill, and hold my duplicated payment not return to me. Not sure what I should do next ....

I use to be a runner & bicycle racer. I take my health seriously. I made an appointment for my Annual Wellness Visit in August for an October. Two weeks before the October appointment it was canceled. The reason given was "the doctor will be out of the office". They gave me another appointment, THREE & a HALF MONTHS away, in January2019. I got a voice mail the morning of my visit that the doctor was sick, appointment canceled. I can understand the doctor being sick. What I can NOT understand is having to wait another SIX WEEKS for another appointment. My ANNUAL Wellness Visit is turning into my BI-ANNUAL Wellness Visit. My health & wellness do NOT matter to Renown. If you want great medical care go to the Carson-Tahoe Healthcare.
