i was here yesterday with my daughter in the ER. The person that sat at window #1 about 12:30pm. This person was a real snob. My daughter was sitting explaining what was wrong, and this lady said to her in a real snob way at least you went to McDonalds before you came here with your problem feeling sick. My daughter told this woman that yeah it has my puck in it would you like to see cause she was throwing up and while waiting for the bus. Yes she did go into McDonald to use the restroom to throw up, and a female worker came into the restroom and handed my daughter this plastic salad bag so she wouldn't throw up on the floor. Needless to stay The person at window #1 was really rude and uncalled for her comments about McDonalds

I'm surprised by the amount of negative reviews as my experience was completely the opposite. I found the staff courteous and professional. The wait time was about average for a hospital and with my seizure condition, I've seen my share. After my horrid experience with UMC, I'm grateful for the folks at North Vista.

This the most horrible place I have ever been to, the staff are completely rude, the place is nasty and they treated my mother like she was in the mental ward! I arrived to visit my mother with her grandchildren as I always do when she's in the hospital and I was told it's flu season and due to flu season the children were not allowed. I then stated well I work in a hospital and the flu season was over as of march 31st. Then the staff responded with well the signs are still up. I laughed and said ma'm that just shows how incompetent your staff is for now doing their job! Then she replied with, well even if they were down the kids would have to be 12years or older, I asked why? She replied that's hospital policy. I said ok as I'm walking out I seen a white man and 2 little children coming from the back, so I asked hey sir did you just see a patient with your children he replied yes I did I seen my wife! I then approached the counter again and said ma'm. You allowed him to go with his kids why can't I? She gave no instant reply, she then said they're taking turns. So I asked the man in front of her sir who are you here to see? He replied "we just seen my wife". So now as a black woman I know that this is a racial profiling thing, so I began to ask more questions and she called Security on me, I just looked at her a left! This place is horrible and a disgrace to society. This place needs to be shut down and as a woman who works in healthcare and a different hospital system I would never treat people like this and I will be calling state to handle this situation.

Nurses and Staffs are biligerent, rude, They talk down to people in a condenescing manner. And they think can get away it. You cant watch TVall day, Nurses station is a deplorable. They say Oh well if you get the wrong order. Im verry disappointed.

First off, its sad because they have some great doctors. I didnt want to even rate them because of that. Thats the only reason I gave them 2 stars otherwise I wouldve given 1 for their nurses. The nurses are who take care of you the whole time and if they treat you badly youre gonna' stop going to that hospital. I only take my husband there because of one awesome Doctor, Dr. Sinha. I dont think we will be going there anymore. Theres TOO many nurses that are either just desensitized or deranged. Its just common sense, you don't treat someone bad whos sick or dying like this!! Had to change back to 1 star its that bad here. ER and ICU DOCTOR / NURSES I KNOW YOU MAY BE SYRESSWD BUT THATS NO REASON TO TREAT US LIKE ANIMALS. YES YOU "DR. GANNON" BLAMING A PATIENTS LIVER FAILURE ON THE FAMILY MEMBERS ... GOOD ONE! IT COULDNT BE THAT HES IN END STAGE CIRRHOSIS OF THE LIVER AND HAS HAD IT FOR 25 PLUS YEARS! Then after she blames me she denies it. This place is pathetic. The nurse in icu is CRYING now because my husband pushed the bag out that they keeps trying to put in so they can give him medicine anally. They never do it this way.

Rushed in for chest pain & kidney pain. They took me in for EKG & told me to lay on a dirty sheet in ER. It was absolutely discusting I didn't want to touch it let alone lay on it. Health codes states says each patient gets a new sheet but they clearly use these over & over. The gal drew my blood & made a bloody mess all over my nightgown. They had bums lined up in the halls & all over the place. I was only there about a hour & insisted they release me. I was freaking out & couldn't lay down on the bed because the sheets were used & discusting. I feel like I may have contracted bugs, lice from this place, due to unsanitary conditions & their used dirty sheets they share with everyone. The state needs to crack down on their unsanitary practices & fine them.

I went there Dec. 16th 2014 for a Blossom Bariatrics procedure. I had to prepay my Hospital bill and was told it was paid in full. Yes, I asked! They took the payment from my Visa card on 11/25/2014. Now in Feb.2015 I have been billed twice , once for $2000 dollars and again for $304. They were paid in full! There billing dept doesn't answer their phone and won't return a call. Are they forcing me to go to an attorney ? This should never have been an issue, much less this amount of stress.

When my husband was scheduled for surgery here and I read the reviews, I was concerned. When we arrived, I was more concerned seeing the building, it is old and need of updating. But after being admitted and spending two days, I observed the cleanliness of the building, and the room was very nice. Best of all were the employees, from the gal at the cafeteria to the doctors, everyone was very pleasant and attentive to my husband's needs. The nurses (Geraldine was awesome) made sure all needs were met, and went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable, even bringing in a lounge chair and extra bedding so I could be comfortable. I did walk thru the ER and observed quite a few people in pain waiting, and it was pretty hectic, I can imagine where the bad reviews came from.

Should of known this place had a 1 star rating look I understand your in a part of town that all they want to do Is find there next fix but if someone come in barely walking that shouldn't be taken lightly oh she can walk she's okay I have lower lumbar damage and all they did for me is had me sit in a waiting area several hours to just give a steroid that didn't diminish the pain at all n they go to discharge you and see you can't move still and decide oh she's hurting let's give her a Tylenol 3 and get her out I understand I'm 29 and aren't supposed have this type of problem but I do and this was the worst we experience I've had.

My son is 6 and has been here for more than 2 hours..we were the 3 person here and 9 people grown adults has been seen before him. The hospital is now empty and we still waiting...my son has vomit on himself and still nothing...I ask how long the wait and they said they don't know and the doctor is standing right there...when the doctor did see my son all he said was ummmhuuu ok can he pee.....and put is back in the waiting room...doctor is a black man with blue eyes and don't have the hospital in order..what hospital let's a child be seen last while all the adults go first and we were here before most of these people...even other children that came after my son and I arrive had came and left and we still sitting g in the waiting room.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. How do you even run this hospital? No leadership anywhere in the building, the employees work at their own pace. There is zero communication between your staff and have people in your ER for 6 hours waiting on a cut finger. You have security guards at the front entrance of the ER cussing? A patient comes through and takes a piss on the floor and no body cleans it up. It's seen by multiple people in the staff but takes 10 minutes to acknowledge it. And at that they use a towel and leave the towel on the floor. Multiple people have walked through it by this point. Unsanitary. Whoever is in charge of this hospital needs a rude awakening because Healthcare is supposed to be precise and clean. I wouldn't go back here if my life depended on it.

I luv this hospital. I had an out patient procedure & I couldn't have gotten better service. I was treated with respect & kindness from the time I checked in to admittisration. The pre-op team is Fabulous, Josie & her team are great at signing you in & getting you prepped for surgery. The staff in pre-op very good. I had to stay overnight, the nurses on the morning & overnight is also fantastic. Desert Springs is highly recommended. My stay & service was very pleasant. Your staff should be recognized. As for these negative reviews, Sorry you all feel that way, but I was well respected & cared for. Thank you Desert Springs Hospital Staff.

I was kept waiting for ever and the nurses wouldn't allow me to take my own medications that I brought with me. It made me cry and the nurse yelled at me and said missing a dose wouldn't kill me.

Despite the overflow of customers, despite the fact that there was 1 (!!!!) Doctor, Dr. Harris dealing with 20 rooms (beds) in the Emergency Room in the evening.....We received stellar treatment. The staff was kind, patient, helpful and fast. While we were there 2 ambulances came in. Everyone from the security guards to administration staff and the triage nurse...EVERYONE was so professional and thorough and personal. I would recommend not breaking your nose at 8:00 p.m., but if you must, go to North Vista and they'll take care of you and all your worries. :)

Worst hospital ever!!!!! The staff is extremely rude. The nurses provided no help and were absolutely appalled that questions would be asked. Doctors ignored patients and joked about drug usage at the nurses station. The nurse who took out my IV did not have gloves. Elderly patients with serious medical issues were ignored. Paperwork was lost waited 2 hours for nothing. This hospital was a joke the staff was a joke. I hope to never return to this hospital EVER!!!!!

I was just in For A inpatient Surgery and reading the reviews was concerned. From the moment i checked in it was a great Experience. The facility was Clean, Staff was Friendly and Helpful. My Nurses From the operating room to my Room were Great.They made sure everything was ok, Checked on me a lot and made sure i was comfortable. A big Thank you to everyone that worked with me. It is a old hospital on the outside but do not let the outside concern you. I would go here again if i ever needed to. Only 2 things was mentioned by my wife that was unplesent was the fact that the surgery waiting room was freezing (everyone in room was complaining and Staff said its always like that )and the Food was not that great in the cafeteria.

I wish I could put 0! This hospital is horrible. It’s dirty the staff is patronizing and condescending. I came in with my sister for an ultrasound to see what was wrong with her baby. They put us in a room with all the storage and a used to be shower room. Said at first that me and my niece and other sister couldn’t come back with our sister then finally let us back. Seeing this terrible service I looked at the reviews and I’m just smh we aren’t the only ones to witness such terrible service. We will be sure to NEVER COME BACK!

The worst hospital ever. I came in with vomiting and abd. Pain from a chronic issue. Well on my last day of staying there doctor felt I didn't need pain meds or my usual meds I take at home. The doctor and staff could care less. One nurse actually told me to just stop eating and that would fix the problem. Ummm Hello? Last I checked people needed food to survive. I came in sick and leaving sick. Don't waste your time.

The nurses in emergency are mean. I see someone else said they were rude and distant. They were downright mean and nasty to me. One said some really horrible things to me. When one of the nurses removed my IV I swear she took it out purposefully in the most painful way possible. She left me a wicked bruise. I could have taken the IV out better myself! The nurses were about as kind as those you would get in a concentration camp! All I can say positive was I was seen quickly. They had plenty of beds.

A nurse in ICU named Al slapped me on the arm because I was messing with my oxygen mask. It was really upsetting me and he had no ideas on solving the situation but to physical violence. I know a girl that works there and she said he goes by Allen too. There were many other problems too. I just don't feel like going in to it now. One thing was they told me to go to the bathroom in my bed and they would clean it up, just because they didn't want to help me to the bathroom. I had a catheter in for 6 weeks because of this and developed a horrible urinary infection and had to learn to urinate again. I do give them credit for pulling me through my illness. I liked my doctors.

Had went in to get checked for flu symptoms; was there for 5-6 hours only went in the back to get an X-Ray they had me waiting in the waiting area THE ENTIRE TIME and then had the nerve to charge for their services!!! Sent a bill of over 2 GRAND and all they did was an X ray I literally ONLY went in the back to get my blood pressure checked and an X ray smh; I regret wasting my time there

Worst phone customer service ever. You get transferred around the facility without no answers. Be prepared to just hear a ring ton and phone hung up. After a least a dozen calls and being hung up, operator does answer without knowing nothing about the patient in the hospital. Just another transfer and being hung up on. It's just a simple question. Doesn't even deserve one star! Nurses are very rude, disrespectful. I waited in E.R. nine hours until a room opened. Never seen a doctor in the emergency room what so ever. When my husband asked the nurse when a doctor would be there to see his wife, the nurse went off! She began arguing with him, "if we don't like it we knew what we could do! It was a nightmare. People were out in the hall on beds.. An elderly man in hospital gown collapsed right outside my room. No nurse with him, he obviously shouldn't have been walking alone, for God's Sake this is suppose to be an Emergency Room! I had nothing to eat or drink the entire time I was in ER, mind you nine hours! I was there because my doctor wanted me admitted for high blood pressure! My blood pressure was high before I arrived, it wouldn't even register when the nurse took it in ER. I wonder why?

Awesome hospital and wonderful staff! We were here from Ohio to see family and my 93 year old mom was having chest pains. They got her right in and then admitted her within 2 hours. All ER staff was very nice and kind. Wonder people!

I've live down the road from North Vista (Lakmead hospital) most of my life, I've been there, my husband, father, daughter so on and so on. If I have a choice on where to go it's anywhere but here, they are one of the worse hospitals I've ever been to. They're rude, mean, full of themselves, and at times seem to enjoy causing unnecessary pain. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone and if you find yourself there get relocated asap.

North Vista has the most caring staff I've seen in Vegas hands down! Believe me I've lived her all my life. I've been in and out the hospital every since I was shot in September of 95. I've been to other supposedly gr8 hospitals and they are pathetic this includes "award winning" UMC (CAUTION: inexperienced students attending you! One student didn't even know how to remove staples! Very painful!!!) Anyways NVH is the "Award Winning Hospital" in my experience

I visited the ER and had the best experience. During my triage with Gavin... Dr. Harris came in and asked me various questions and got me in right away. My nurse, John was amazing! He set my mind at ease making me laugh and was very patient with me while trying to get an IV started. My tiny veins are horrible..lol. My doctor and overall experience with the staff was wonderful and the wait time wasn't bad for a Saturday night. Thank you so much.

This hospital is past ridiculous and needs to be shut down immediately. They treat the patients like inmates in a prison. My husband was placed on a legal 2000 hold on a Friday and he was released late Monday and was never given a shower. How unsanitary. They leave these ppl in a dark room in a bed for 24 hours a day for the whole 72 hours. My husband was pleading and crying with them telling him his anxiety was up to the point he was shaking and they would tell him to go back to his bed! When you call to inquire about your loved one the nurses give you attitude and one of the b****** hung up in my face just because I asked if they could tell my husband to call me. Most of the staff needs to be fired. This experience has made me want to study law because places like this need to be investigated and there should be more screening in regards to who they employ. They are totally failing the mentally ill. If you have a loved one, avoid this hospital at all costs! TERRIBLE! The ppl that work there better hope their love ones ever end up in the care of the likes of them. I don’t see how these monsters sleep at night.

Honestly, not sure how to rate it... I've been in and out of hospital all my life.. This one though... It didn't feel comfortable being there. I had gone due to a puncture wound, had blood all over my hands and arms, my pants.. The lady at the front window was the most helpful and made the start of my experience good.. But sitting in the waiting room and seeing people get called in before me who came in after me, bothered me.. I sat in the waiting room for a good 35 minutes with blood all over me before they got me.. Doctor was decent.. Looked at it for a minute, said I needed a tetnis shot and antibiotics.. Nurse gave me tetnis shot, no one cleaned the wound. They had me wash my hands in a sink with soap.. It was like they lacked structure there. They were all over the place. The staff was nice, just... All over the place. It's not somewhere where I would go again...

I have been here because it's closer to my home, but after last night I don't think I'll go here anymore. When you go to the ER you expect they'll put you in a bed ever for a bit, and it was after midnight, so my husband and I were exhausted. Well we were forced to wait in the lobby for th duration of our stay and the chairs are really uncomfortable when you have back pain. I was in there because I had symptoms of hypothyroidism which made me really sick. I think a reason why I had a diminished thyroid was because when I came in here for mental health care they decided that despite my prescriptions which I had brought in a certified list from my pharmacy, they refused to give me any for the 4 days I was there.... which with many medications you shouldn't do that as it can mess up your body. I think the staff can be rude, they didn't try to help my situation any time ive had to come here and the hospital isn't the cleanest... which is disgusting.

This hospital is so horrible. They don't care about their patients and there is no leadership in their team. If you are in a life threatening situation, please do not go to this hospital. My husband was at the ER for heart problem. Taken there by the ambulance when my husband should be taken to Nellis Hospital. (Although the ambulance EMTs probably saved my husband's life from cardiac arrest by giving him shock before they reached the hospital.) The whole time my husband was at this hospital, we never see a real doctor (MD) and the only highest medical person who administered my husband was NP - nurse practitioner. They never discussed the results of all the tests that they took from my husband and they told my husband that after another blood test that my husband could go meaning be released. After hours of waiting for the test result, another nurse told my husband "No, we are admitting you for the night" but wont tell us why. They won't discuss the test results with us but then they want to keep my husband there longer, I am assuming just to bill our insurance. After we told the staff that my husband did not want to be admitted, they just let us wait for hours ignoring us. One thing that really disgusted me was the patient next to my husband's bed was screaming and screaming for a long time but nobody was there checking on him. This guy was not speaking English and they just laughed and ignored him. I got fed up and annoyed listening to the screaming so I went to the nurse station and told them that someone has to check that patient next to my husband. Finally, someone came to check that patient, but only after I complained to the nurses. Make long story short, my husband was eventually discharged from that horrible place, but guess what, the staff won't even give us a release paper, name of doctors, test results or doctor in-charge. I have to asked around names of nurses and the NP who just disappeared after knowing that my husband wanted to be discharged. What kind of medical professionals are these people? You cannot charge our insurance for another day so you just run home without talking to your patient? What kind of professional are you? A very low-class to me. I think, this hospital has to be investigated and if they are receiving federal funding the hospital should be following guidelines on how to provide proper care and treatment to patients. The ER in this hospital is NOT understaff, they have so many staff in that facility but I could not tell which one are nurses and which one are just pretending to be nurses. They all acted that they are big-wig professionals when many of these staff are probably just peons. I have never been to ER hospital that did not have MD's especially for life threatening situations. I am sad to say that this hospital is in need of good leadership and if they cannot do that this hospital should fold. I am not criticizing the hospital just because everybody does. I saw it with my own eyes and this facility should be rated the lowest in my opinion. So if you would ever have to take a love one or someone you know to ER or hospital, please take your patient somewhere else. . . . . I would never ever take a patient in this facility ever gain. Please take my word seriously.

They gave me someone else's drugs. Horrible dirty ER. Took my mother once and they had no running water in the ER. Even though it is right down the street and an in network hospital, I will deffinetly always take a little longer of a trip to avoid this place.

This place needs to be SHUT DOWN. My husband was in the ER and in the time there I saw four people lifting the trash can lid with their bare hands because the foot pedal didn't work. I had to ask the charge nurse to remind the nurses to wear gloves because they were going to start a blood transfusion and they didn't have gloves on. It took 4 nurses and 1 charge nurse to get the transfusion going. Seriously? He was admitted into the hospital and we left "against medical advice" because we honestly knew he was better off at home than in there where it Smells like dirty hospital and all you have is addicts whaling and whining about their pain medication. The nurses don't check in patients as often as the chart says they should, they are very inpatient, and seem annoyed when you approach them. Oh and once we got the medical records , apparently my husband grew some ovaries over night because they had found a cyst in his left ovary..... ????? Seriously. Do not go here... unless you want to be treated like a crazy or pain pill addict, Very very sad place.

Waited five wretched hours to get attended. Five stinkin hours just to get my money back. Staff only service the ones with appointments and kept pushing back the ones who came in through walk in. The "Walk Ins Are Welcomed" sign is at least honest, they'll welcome you for coming in but won't attend you.

Staff was pretty friendly despite the back round wailing for more medication. Waited over 3 hours for ultrasound/blood test. After asking a few times had a nurse pull up the info on the computer and they already processed a discharge and we haven't even talked to a doctor. Had 5 different nurses and 2 doctors check on us one time each. All of em asked the same questions and seemed to have no correlation despite all of them entering stuff on the PC and pulling info up. Only the 5th nurse had new info with the ultrasound, blood work and discharge all at the same time. He prompted the 2nd doctor with the same questions to finally tell us ok good to go. It's nice to have talk and chat with co-oworkers when most of your patients are yelling or moaning and on drugs and need security to deal with etc. But at least get the job done.

Boy has this hospital changed. Someone change the culture of this hospital for the better. On Monday at 5:30 AM I entered the hospital and approached the admissions desk. Melissa could not have been more friendly and patient. She went above and beyond to answer every question I had, and walk me to my next destination. She saw me walk by and stopped me as I left and wanted to make sure that everything was taken care of properly. This lady is an absolute amazing representative of this hospital. She's obviously been doing this a while. She gave me the service I deserve as a patient and customer. She even remembered me on Wednesday the day of my surgery. Amazing! My surgery could not have went smoother. The entire staff at this hospital could not have been more accommodating to my needs. I am born and raised in Las Vegas at 52 years old this was the best hospital experience I had ever had in Las Vegas. I hope I never have to go to the hospital again but if I do vista will be my choice.

Why is North Vista Hospital hiring contractors like Pete King to do work on their hospital? Pete King literally hires child rapists (see photo) and undocumented workers, pays cash withholding much needed tax dollars from the local community, works with labor brokers that bus in laborers from across the country, and have a substantial amount of OSHA violations. SHAME on North Vista Hospital for hiring contractors like Pete King and, by association, condoning their actions! Absolutely appalling and shameful.

The weekend staff seemed to be unable to to communicate effectively with the week day staff. We've had one RN who was wonderful, one who was alright, and another who told us (throughout the entire day) that they didn't know anything about the treatment that the patient was receiving because they still had not reviewed the MD's notes. The week day primary MD finally came in Monday morning and was surprised to see that the patient was still admitted. He said that the gastro MD might need to be pulled off the case because they hadn't done anything.

The TV wouildn't work and frnt desk set u\it up for our service in conversation with the Satellite Company and it responded and worked well. on the third night it broke down again, we were without a TV for an hour. Then the evening front desk girl came and fixed the TV by moving the dresser away from the wall connections and it worked beautifully again! Other then these two incidents every was okay.

Others say they waited 3 hours and been in and out of ER. Been here for 3 hrs, one piss test and nothing after. Eff this place if you can go somewhere else.

How could this terrible hospital get good reviews? I worked there a few weeks ago on agency assignment and the staff was just flat out rude and distant. No manners. I was practically treated like a second-class citizen. The nursing staff including the ignorant CNA's sound like they can care less about the patients and what they do for a living. The first day at North Vista, I felt invisible. I got a no welcome vibe from everyone. People at my unit just looked down at me. The charge nurse sounded like the only one who wanted to communicate w/me but everybody else was crap. If i am ever in need of hospital emergency, it would not be this so-called HMO facility. Very ghetto.

I'm currently admitted her since Tuesday, I came in at 1 and was seen by 2 admitted by 7:30 up in a room by nine. Dr Marie was fantastic. Nurse Rhonda and Jacquel are fantastic. Meds on time. Now my night nurse today is horrible.04/13/17 Her name is nurse Rubi she hasn't been in here for 4 hours and all my iv bags are empty. I called the nurses station for her 40 minutes ago and she still not here. My meds are due and she is no where to be found. So its not the hospital its some employees. Over all great experience.

Yes don't ever go to this hospital it's rotten the staff there dose not do a through job and when I tried contacting them by phone about some important business I was given the run around I will never go there again if I can help it

If you are in a serious emergency DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. NORTH VISTA hospital is a scam no matter what insurance you have. I cannot believe they are helping anyone. This is advice after 2-3 visits over the past few years. They will get shut down eventually, when someone important enough has serious misdiagnosis!

They Overdosed me. They were rude. My phone went missing. My motorola droid. What were they thinking. Sometime the place smelt puetrid. You could hear men fighting near. Unesary ugh smh. I had my first shock in there from over dosage anf long lines. They tried to get me naked and take pictures of my body.

Waited like two hours and there was no one in the waiting room. Once I seen a doctor name Lee he rushed me in a hasty way and not once empathize for my allergy reaction instead he laughed at me and had the triage nurse answer question .. If I wanted to hear answer from a triage nurse I would have but instead I waited a long time for Dr. Lee to rush and OVER talk me plus he walked away to see another Paige t in the middle of me talking. That goes to show you that specific Doctor treated you as a number rather than a value sick paitent.

I called North Vista Hospital to find out who was the physician who attended to my mom when she had a heart attack and we took her to North Vista's emergency room in May of 2011. The supervisor at the medical records told me that the information is with Advanced Care Emergency Services. She gave me a number that turned out to be a non working number. I decided to just research the info about Advanced Care. ACES told me that they did not send out billings for North Vista until March of 2012. I had to call North Vista again and this time the supervisor told me that the attending physician was Dr. Simon Wilcox and that it was ED Care who was in charge of their emergency department. She gave me ED Care's number that turned out to belong to a telecommunications company. I researched ED Care and up until now, I found no ED Care company located in Las Vegas. This is so frustrating because I just found out how inefficient North Vista is with regard to medical records and they don't even know the physicians who are practicing in their emergency department.
