Great hospital never had any problems whatsoever good doctors and nurses

David Veliz

Can't even help you if you asks them

I HATE THIS PLACE, NOTHING WORKS HERE, THE MEDICINE DOESN'T WORK, I BEEN HERE FOR 7 YEARS!

Denys Myronenko

Amazing hospital, stayed here twice and the second time they were even better than the first, I’m really impressed! Fast fast fast emergency room, the nurses and all the doctors come around all the time, really amazing compared to other places I’ve had the misfortune to deal with in medical emergencies! Even better if you are 24 and under, you will be going to Pediatric wing which is even better, too bad I’ve already aged out.

raquel vargas

the ENT receptionist speaks to you in a bad way and if they are Hispanic he does not want to help and makes you face. In 20 years I have been coming I have never seen a receptionist so badly faced and she does not love what she does.

Sarah Weigel

Have been here multiple times (but not anymore), each time no matter what department my wait was AT LEAST TWO HOURS. Wouldn't recommend, definitely the worst hospital I've been to in NYC

Nathaniel Gregg

Just a few to keep in touch. No telling when or if I will need you again.I was on the second floor VOA and sent to the Rose House. I like it better in New York than D.C.If I can get a level one co-ed Id rather return, MY ha was 8450331, i was sent to services, Renaisance and couldn t stand it.

Marlon Perez

Best hospital thanks to god and doctors that works there I’m still alive

The phone operator is never there to pick up the phone. Always answer machine. Wait for over 15min. Just for someone telling you sorries can you hold on for a few more minutes. And send to leave a message answering machine. A hospital that don't care about their patients, but worry about their own wallet. Not worth going to. Recommand going to a different Hospital.

Daniela Moreno

I have been coming here for years I was born in this hospital but the lack of respect to the patients is disgusting. I have been taking my prenatal appointments here but I had enough. From the nurses to the receptionist it truly is disgusting. If your job sucks that much leave but dont take it out on the patients especially to those how have been nothing but loyal to this hospital. I'm just sick of this hospital. And I am done with it I want nothing to do with this hospital.

kwa k

hope this hospital get shutdown for their terrible services. It's like a zoo with animals working there. The nurses are the worst of the animals that controls this zoo. This place will inevitably get sued by someone whose family member dies due to negligence from this hospital. Hopefully these nurses get served a dose of their own negligence when they get hurt.

Yvonne Senquiz

Very Rude and Long wait, Need to Train their Staff!!!!! They NEVER answer Their PHONES!!!!! SMH

christos kotsonis

Stay away from this hell hole. A Doctor (Witig) in this hell hole got mad at me for getting a second opinion so he cancelled all my tests without telling me then made me wait 12 hours in the waiting room. He didn't even have the balls to tell me to leave he had a nurse tell me and just left. Then they did a blood test for no reason to make me feel like I accomplished something. I would literally rather die than come back here, at least I would die in peace instead of a waiting room in hell

Frank Cooper

Good Hospital good hospital to go to keep up the good work

Ang Maya Sherpa

Don’t waste your time.you have to find other nice hospital.

John Kershaw

Visiting from the UK for a holiday the last place we wanted to visit was the ER of a New York hospital. But just to thank all the staff we met. Workin in what seemed like very difficult circumstances in a very busy ER the whole team we met from the admin team to the porters and doctors were excellent. Thank you for looking after us so professionally and sensitively.

Richard Garcia

Back in 2013, I had a really bad accident. Was really close to death. This hospital saved my life.

Please stay away from this hospital if you want to leave it alive. we came in for one issue and left worried sick that we probably now have an infection acquired from this filthy hospital. The hospital is not sanitary there is mold on the ceiling, the floor is dirty and the nurses are the worst! they do not take any safety into consideration, and perform procedures such as IV fluids without gloves or clearing anything with alcohol. this is very dangerous. The nurses do not know any or follow any techniques on obtaining blood samples or using an IV line, it is very very scary. this hospital should be closed down because it would be very dangerous to be admitted or even enter their emergency room. I would recommend you avoid this place at all cost, that is if you value your life.

Fouad Alandour

Very nice people

Kesha Mateo

My son was born in this hospital and had multiple surgeries and two blood transfusion they took care of my baby love this place.

Edit Deljanin

The hospital is not very clean and the discharge is extremely long but I don't care about that. My husband was taken to the emergency care and they took good care of him. Doctors and medication was readily available at request. Compared to other emergency department experiences I am very satisfied.

Sarah Hauck

Fyi, this hospital, is where the Nypd send the homeless and the criminals/ immates, it is a public hospital. The doctors and the staff are nice and helpful, but the atmosphere is the worst. It's like a nightmare. Seriously think twice before you bring your family here.

Barbara W

Bellevue Hospital. Staff. Thanks for saving my son's life Thanks so much!!

Stevi Roy

I was here for a week. Nurse's response was moderate, one time I got my bed covered in blood fortunately I had extra pants, so I only asked for new sheets and it came after 2 hour. I was mad that time. Other than that it's a good hospital. Oh, did I forget to mention that I lost my original iPhone 7 headphone from my room?

Waiting times are ridiculous. I had a 9:30am appointment with the Oral Maxillofacial department for a CONSULTATION. That’s an X-ray, a chat with the doctor, and you’re out. I wasn’t even SEEN until 11:30am, and that was for one of the xrays I’d need. I had to go back to the waiting room and wasn’t seen again until about 1pm where I was taken to this ridiculously cramped room and had sit in a dentists chair watching people running around. At some point a nurse came up and started filling out my chart but didn’t even introduce himself or tell me what he was doing. I was seen by two different doctors(?) I honestly can’t tell who was who Because nobody introduced themselves or told me their role in my care. The staff likewise made it difficult to address the reason I came (wisdom teeth extraction bc I can’t close my jaw properly anymore). When showing the doctors my X-rays the nurses took photos with their PHONES from the xray room. There’s definitely a bunch of laws in place regarding holding patient information on portable devices and yeah it’s just an X-ray but if they’re in the habit of photographing your records, are they actually respecting your privacy? As well: after wrapping up with the doctors I did some sort of outgoing check up with a nurse. She didn’t realize she had put the pulse ox meter on incorrectly and that it wasn’t measuring my heart rate properly. I’ve had to use a few in the past and I’m pretty familiar with how they work, but didn’t realize until after she had taken my vitals that it was measuring incorrectly. It was showing a pulse about 20 bpm LOWER than what my usual is. She was also completely unfamiliar with the (incredibly common) medications I took and I had to google every one to show her how to spell it. Ultimately I was at the clinic for FIVE (5) hours, only maybe 30 of which were spent actually being seen by a doctor. Finally: I was bounced between 3 different voicemails trying to get ahold of the clinic to find out who would be performing my surgery only to find out the clinic was closed. There is no easily accessible list of practitioners for their Oral Clinic, and as far as I can see, no proper list of practioners available for public view whatsoever. You literally have a right to know these things. I saw someone describe this place as “as if the DMV ran a hospital,” but honestly my interactions with the dmv have been far less difficult and more pleasant.

vivian Liu

Garbage hospital, lower than 1 star. No care patients, even u ring the bell, no body coming. Nurse was bad, Nurse assistant was beyond horrible! Have any chance to NYU hospital? Pls go! Bellevue was hell.!

Anuk Wijerathne

Best hospital ever

Folie ༄

Very rude staff overall. Have been here twice and have had bad experiences where staff, particularly nurses are extremely rude and one even laughed at a concern I had while having the flu and said she’s “too busy to deal with me” and left. The first time I went, they also misdiagnosed me with bipolar and autism. Which I was taking medication for for months until I started going to a psychiatrist and they said they were completely off the mark. Avoid this hospital like the plague

Sarvar Abdurashidov

Terrible experience with the hospital

verte la

It’s horrible, staffs are rude, lazy, irresponsibility, always make mistake, they don’t care at all, they don’t care what you have been through, how long you have been waiting......

Bellevue Hospital in the 20's on the east side of Manhattan is NYC No. 1 public hospital, and it is 1 of the best hospital in the country. I know a lot of folks will say the opposite about Bellevue Hospital, and they are probably right about their issues. However, When I say Bellevue Hospital is 1 of the best hospitals, I am talking about the medical treatments that is practiced there. Bellevue Hospital is very advance with their medical technology and treatments for certain medical conditions. It is the number one hospital to treat most of the NYPD and the FDNY personnel that is injured in the line of duty in NYC.

TheLovely Jenn

Good hospital. They have many free programs for the low-income people. Although certain staff are rude at the time, but many are nice and perform a good job

Joanna Almanzar

I love the ob/gyn staff. Great nurses, front desk, assistants, and the doctors are very caring and compassionate. However, my experience on the postpartum floor left a lot to be desired. While the nurses I had were very capable, they weren't very helpful. I was exhausted after labor and was told that they were too busy to take my baby for a few so I could get some sleep. Then the next day I wanted to take a shower and was told they couldn't take the baby, that I should wait for my visitors to come and watch the baby so that I can take care of personal hygiene. I didnt get any visitors during my stay because the weather was not permitting. I ended up having to take a bird bath in the bathroom. Also, I was breastfeeding but had to substitute with bottles here and there because my milk didnt let down yet. Anyway by the 2nd night there I was falling asleep with my newborn baby in my arms and the nurse walked in and caught me a few times. I explained to her that he hasnt slept and I was exhausted due to not having proper rest either. She gave my baby a bottle and said let mami sleep. I said can you please take him for a few hrs so I can rest and she said no that there was no one to watch the baby. In conclusion, I suggest that they change their policies and at least let new moms get the minimum of 8 hrs rest before leaving the baby with them 24/7.

good place amazing people

I was admitted to this hospital in early december of 2014 where i had abdominal pain, vomiting, and cramps where they told me that i had a appendicitis and needed surgery for this after surgery i was in pain and feeling weak but felt better after a week of recovery all nurses and doctors were very kind to me and my mother and this hospital was the best.

Reine

The Neurological Intensive Care Unit monitored And guided me through my initial stroke. I’d previously told friends that even if I was shot outside Bellevue don’t take me in there but I can say I was pleasantly surprised and deeply thankful for their care.

Stephanie Madera

This place is HORRIBLE... this is not a place to deliver your child at all..... I had the worse time ever here and they couldn't even get my name right the whole time over there or my babies till this day DONT GO HERE!!!

BIG CHEEZE

Pulled the saline drip from my arm and got the hell out of there. I dont think anyone in there even noticed. Waste of time! Dont go here if its an emergency!

Robert Jackson

I got the bestest help with my thinking any person could get

By far one of the worst hospital I have ever walked and stepped in ! From unprofessional patient service to no private confidential space . It was very hot and humid and I have a allergic reaction to some food I ate . My whole body was covered in hives and blisters. There was no IV and every doctor that came in repeatedly only asked the same question let me hear your lungs . If you want a hospital that cares about your health and is kid you don't want to come here !

camara dambou

Well is not that bad but just come and go because I have some one in there for cople day now hople is ganna be ok

Bonnie Dorsky

I was there for a month. The staff was amazing, the rooms were cleaned about 4 times a day, the doctors, nurses, aides, etc. were always attentive and there when you needed them. The food could use a little fixing up. Otherwise, my stay there was great, except for my pain! I also use the clinic, and I have no complaints whatsoever for the attention and treatment I get there...

Yunqin Chen

Horrible service. Nurse are always spend time for talking instead of taking care of patients. Bad behavior. Unfriendly. Never go back again

Chance Lyle

Max is doing a great job as the new director of medicine! Dr. Iggy is really the best in the business. I see lots of good changes being made.

Reine

Yeah they do many hospital things here, but with the caveat that everything takes forever because doctors and nurses and technicians are all overbooked. What this leads to is a very apologetic yet evasive hospital staff. Doctors make decisions ad hoc that aren’t even relevant and the morning is all about bringing patients in, so don’t plan on leaving anytime soon even if you’re all ready for discharge yourself. I got operated on by a team of 5 in an OR for just cleaning and closure on a leg laceration. Nurses held me hostage for almost a day and a DIFFERENT doctor neglects to give me ANY pain medication. Worst experience imaginable in a hospital of this size and caliber.

Alex Koronec

Yes, it is professional. Doctors are good. How ever some times you have to put up with people who don't have resources to do the right things. I was with EMS during the 911 attacks. I was brought to the hospital and was taken care by good Doctor's. Jump ahead 17 Year's. Go up to 2nd floor primary care floor. Check In. 1 and half hours later a secretary ask why are still here. She finds out l was called, however too my amazement,While I was sitting at front desk. A Doctor walks out & states I was called. I state interestingly since I neither heard from anyone calling my name. Or any announcement on paging system Long story short. I finally get to see original doctor who apparently apologized for inconsistentcy and lack of support. I was subjected to just for test result of which I needed for World Trade doctors at 9 Metro-tech

M Tay

If only I could give minus five stars. It's like their whole mission is to bamboozle their patient. I didn't even want to go to the ER, yet they pushed me there anyway and then declared it's not an emergency. Didn't get any treatment, was seen by a nurse instead of their promised specialist, all they cared about was charging the most money! Did I mention NOT GETTING ANY KIND OF TREATMENT!!!

JoeBe Rhymin

My father was told to come in for his surgery at 6:30am and didn’t get in the OR till 2:40pm. The hospital is very dirty the smell in the bathroom on the first floor was so disgusting I almost threw up...it smelled so bad I thought homeless people lived in there. And the elevators are dirty as well. Unless you absolutely have to come here I’d avoid this hospital at all cost!

Dmitriy Kostylev

Worst customer service, patient service saying one thing, nurses another and doctor another. WTF. who is in charge in this place.

Rianna Baladez

Kind and professional Doctors, Nurses and support staff who always work hard for their patients health and care.

I got in a fight one night and went to Woodhull Hospital first and then they said they could not find the surgeon so I proceeded to take the IV out of both my arms jumped in my cousin's Jeep and he drove me to Bellevue when we got to Bellevue I walked in the door with the shirt wrapped around my face and explain to them as they were cutting my clothes off me to make sure I didn't have any bullet holes in me once they seen the gas across my face and mediately immediately they went to work and that is the best hospital I have ever seen ever been part of in my entire life Bellevue is number one Michael days

Vladimir Zamneborets Pataridze

Criminal people harassing people and do experience for people and 13 pricing police is corruption I can tell to everyone what they do there to news to everyone so bed people

Sonya Cosentini

I've never had such a horrible experience as I had at Bellevue. I was completely ignored despite being in excruciating pain. When they finally came to me, they incorrectly put in an IV and my arm blew up by at least 3 times. They refused to take the IV out, refusing to admit they put it in wrong. They then told me I should go home to BOSTON to get checked, and when I got there the situation was dire and I needed emergency surgery. I lost an organ because of this hospital. AT ALL COSTS GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

P P

This review is for the emergency room. I was admitted quickly but needed to wait few hours. I understand I wasn’t the only one there and it was Monday. Nevertheless, everyone was so nice especially Tony M. who vent above and beyond.

Edward Delfino

I’ve been to several clinics here, and depending on which one, the people can be great or really awful. Waiting times can also vary from being seen right away to having to wait seemingly forever. It’s still fun to tell people you’ve been here because it’s the oldest public hospital in the USA (1736), had the first maternity ward (1799) & the first children’s clinic (1874). In the words of Ralph Kramden, “I’m calling Bellevue ‘cause you’re nuts!”

Hachouma Boudah

African American woman was so so rude to me she said that her name is Nicole she works in the front desk of 3D reception. She thinks that she’s the boss here or maybe she just hate her life and she’s giving people bad attitude. This is not the first time, every time i bring My kids here i go Back home in a bad mood because of the way she treats us. When i got Here she was talking on the phone and she wasn’t even looking at me infront of the desk and i put the card insurance and my daughters card on the desk until she finish her phone call and she can grab them. She started yelling at me give me the cards in my hands don’t put them on the desk with a very bad attitude. It shows how measurable her life is.

Jeshua de tenorio

I was admitted for three days in the trauma center. During my stay no one changed my sheets and I slept in bloody sheets during my entire time there. In addition, I had my mouth wired shut during surgery and the surgeon had accidentally clamped my tongue between my teeth. Some of the staff at reception were rude to both me and my mother on two accounts during my follow up appointments.

Alina Dolce

I love this hospital! They helped me with everything, even to save my life! Amazing social workers! That's what I want to say, really professional stuff!!! Nurses are cute, but also professional and serious! Doctors are never talking to u bad always care about all your problems, even if u mad,kuz u sick. They understand! So,I got emergency too! Big thank you for that guys! Fast, easy taking care of everything what's bothering you! The best stuff what I ever got! Oh,and yeah, receptionists can be much friendly, but it's ok,u are not coming there for them...

Gene Watt

Nice people friendly staff clean place! It is a busy place although!

Anna Brown

A very impressive Hospital, very proffesional and extremely well organized.

Evette Ramos

Love my hospital

sandra vaughn-cooke

Normally, Bellevue would get a much higher rating from me. After my last procedure, that rating is a one star. The doctor was extremely unprofessional, even denying me the aid I should have received after an operation. Very disappointed!

Milca Alicea

Appt for children was at 11am & 11:20am came in at 10:45am. Time now is 11:25am and I am being told that I have to sign a bunch of documents. Children was born here. This new system you guys have going on now is no good i thought... But, Thank goodness for the supervisor who explain & informed me this was a one time, while they update their system. So they can run the pediatric station smoothly. I wish the staff at front would had explained it better! Instead of slapping a large booklet to have me read what I will be signing.

M G

Triage is horrible. The check in nurses speak amongst themselves the whole time. If you are waiting to be checked in you have to say something because standing on the check in line is not enough. Then they take you to urgent care, give medicine to numb you, and want to set a later appointment to get rid of you. Horrible service.

Tracy James

2nd time coming here in a 25 year period. The first time was for a crazy X but this time is for a family member. The place has changed a lot for the better. It is very organized, clean and safe.

Annette Reyes

Over all staff is very helpful some more than other very Professional, it's a busy hospital. Most insurance excepted. Was there on Monday with my mother for vascular the nurse was so helpful went out her way to take my mom down for her cat scan instead of waiting. Beautiful person.

ERNEST SIEW

This hospital has prestige but the service is the worse. The orderly, auxiliary nurse n most are not nurse just helper, some of the nurse are good. The doctor are student in the fourth or fifth year of medical school there is not an attending Doctor on duty. The students do not communicate with patients. The ER is another problem they make you sign so many paper that most people do not what they signing.

Herman Jr. Lungayan

We've been working for my $0 copay for my Otezla since August 2018, now it was approved Feb 1, 2018 , since then I was calling everyday the nurse office for my prescription so that the pharmacy can give my medication, and still don't have it, 6 days passes and they can't give a prescription

Ray G.

It's a great hospital, and great service over all! They treat you well. The doctors are amazing. However, the black nurses and CNA's are uneducated, and with very little diplomatic skills, and also seem to have some type of racial inferiority complex. They are always causing petty problems over petty things. For example a sleep chair being laid out at certain time of the day, or having a family member in the room during certain procedures. That is fine if the patient requests that the family member stay in the room. I don't know why this is, and I'm certainly not racist, but the black nurses and CNA's are always the ones with the negative attitude and correction officer mentality. Furthermore, to make things worse on the 21st of last month I witnessed one of the black CNA's having a very petty argument with one of the Asian nurses, this was the same troublemaker that insisted I close the sleep chair at 9am. This lady is so unprofessional, time to report her, and then she gets away harrasing a nurse that was just doing her job. Pettiness is rampant here. The Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic, Indian, Filipino, are certainly the ***** star nurses ! They steal the show. I would have given the hospital 5 stars but the lousy and unprofessional attitudes of the black nurses and CNA's ruined that rating by a longshot. None of the other staff of other nationalities or races have these odd behavior quirks. Unfortunately these typically troublesome nurses and CNA's make a bad name for the other excellent black workers there. Train these folks in some common sense and diplomacy.

Lizbeth Hernandez

The doctors are great they are very kind but those staff members that are up in the counter in desk 3C are sooo rude they don’t have patience at all in making an appointment. My mom doesn’t speak very well English and I have to translate they literally told us they don’t have time for us and it isn’t the first time they yell at you . My mom has to call over the phone now to make Asthma appointments . THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

Mahir Labib

Such lazy nurse and receptionist stuff and unwillingness to provide service.try not go there. Not sure if they will treat you well. But 100% gurrantied you will get full sick by experiencing their service. Good luck

michelle roopchan

My Mom paid almost 10K and was treated horribly after skin removal surgery. She was discharged against her will and only 2hours after, after informing that she was in extreme pain and was not ready to be released. She was butchered, it was not don't neatly, she has no bellybutton. Discharged in excess pain and lifted her sitting in the front if the hospital by herself.Unprofessional institute that needs to be re-analyzed by the health board.

Carlos G.

Horrible service. They messed up my papers and I had to wait 3 hours for an appointment And next day I went for un ultrasound and I had to wait 1 hour and a half because the receptionist said they were behind !!! Waste of time

Gina Herd

Caring and knowledgeable staff. They go beyond. Not your grandmother's Bellevue. It is a teaching hospital so pstience is required but there's none better.

Klever Froilan

It was amazing the stuff the doctor the surgeons. The people who clean the floor all of them do a great job. The doctor specially they were top of the line the take care of you like a 5 star. They anwer all questions and always walking around to see how patient doing. Hope this is over soon thought. God bless this hard working people.

ANGEL FACE

Since day one it’s been a pleasure coming to my appointments clean safe and friendly environment

Cecelia Weber

Great care, great food, clean, and friendly!

Carlos Bonafe

The hospital in it self is great but some of the nurses working in the CCU area on the 10th floor are kinda heartless. Leaving patients in piss for hours is unacceptable or yelling at them. These patients are in critical care for a reason.

jakoni ortega

My Father was in intensive care for a heart problem. A day later he was giving a scare that could have giving him another heart attack, when the “doctors” told him he needed a heart transplant and was in critical condition, that his heart was more and more deteriorating.. My father not understanding why do to that he never smoked nore ever had any issues now at the age of 61 told them that it was impossible ...The “doctors” then relized they have confused him with another patient. Who does that? I cant imagine why an educated proffesional doctor would ever make a stupid mistake like that! What if they had giving him the wrong medication? Or even a unnecessary heart transplant.. ? Please be aware! Do Not leave your love ones unattended. Trust no one! God bless

Sharmain Tudor

Timing is horrible, it doesn’t matter what time your appointment is you will never get seen at that specific time. Every visit that I have had I was sitting waiting for over 2 hours + after my initial scheduled appointment. You rotate Dr. I’m actually switching hospital, because this is ridiculous. Pregnancy should be happy and exciting coming here was my mistake.

Staff woman burst into restroom while my wife was trying to pee in a cup hit me with the door then when I pushed it closed said, "Don't slam the door in my face." We've been here 2 1/2 hours and there is only one attending physician in the ER

Rosemary Percel

Very professional staff. Very clean. I would recommend this hospital. Wonderful surgical doctors. I had a wonderful stay in as a patient.

Ameena Andrews

My grandmother recently had heart surgery and we had an appointment for 10:30 at the ambulatory care we came about 10 minutes late! And the had us wait until 1 to tell us the nurse left! I understand that we were late but they didn’t have to make us wait that long! They could’ve simply said we missed our appointment and we would’ve rescheduled for another day! And the women at the desk are rude, very unprofessional!

The best hospital in Newyork.

R Sanchez

Went there in 2012 for a cancer operation and had to go to another hospital. The oncologists were VERY rude. I don't trust any doctor with a bad attitude to operate on me. Went to NY Presbyterian and got treated like a princess. Big difference between the two hospitals.

Carley Quinn

A man was walking down the street and dropped a dollar. When I ran to return it to him I twisted my ankle and fell, when I looked down my foot was basically backwards. It took the ambulance some time to get to me because there was traffic- that was the hardest part of the entire ordeal. Fortunately there were some very kind strangers taking care of me as I laid on the sidewalk in agony. The EMT's made tough decisions quickly. They had a choice to make between waiting for a pain management truck or getting me to the hospital. They got me to the hospital, and a wonderful man somehow got me smiling at one point on the ambulance. They were careful with me, kind to me, and they did an amazing job. Once I got inside it only got better. I didn't have to wait long before they were on top of the pain and setting my ankle (holy crap, that was intense though). The doctors and nurses were all so sweet to me. Everyone asking me how I did this to myself and making a personal connection with me in some way. By the time I left the hospital I was exhausted, but I was smiling. I've never broken any bones before or had any kind of injury where I got rushed to the hospital like this. I will tell anyone who asks that it was one of the craziest days of my life--- but I can't say that it was one of the worst. I owe that to the people at Bellevue. I am so grateful to all of them.

Ultimated Gaming 2017

Good doctors and nurse, very nice and they take care of you very well.

chris lietz

Extremely long wait, but staff was good.

Susie Wu

This is for the dental clinic. The wait here is always 2+ hours, and this is just for the wait time alone - before even seeing the dentist! When I brought my relative here, the receptionist took over 2 hours to get her registered. She went away on lunch before she finished doing it and hadn't even passed the job onto someone else, so my relative and I sat there for a total of 3+ hours just waiting. It's sad that just because it's the public (thus cheaper) option, there's no regard for our time.

Alex Koronec

I was subjected to just for test result of which I needed for World Trade doctors at 9 Metro-tech

Horrible! had to call in from overseas to enquire about my dad in ICU, but I was only left waiting 20mins per call only to be hung up at the end!

William Shao

Poor service. Had to wait 2 hours before a doctor saw my father then after a 5 minute y’all had to wait another 4 hours just to be told he can leave. Btw if you want to make a call to the hospital your better off just going there. They don’t even pick up calls.

jennifer

I would give zero stars... The most disgusting, roach & water bug infestation I've ever saw. While I was there to drop off medical records there was a 3 inch water bug on the desk where I was told to wait. I said to a worker " look" she replied "I've seen bigger" I counted 38 water bugs & roaches. I saw a few patients with bites all over their arms, they are all elderly I asked a Nurse "what is all of those bites from"? She replied "bed bugs..no big deal" I waited there 6 hours to tell the daughter of the 92 year old bed ridden woman who is her mother about the bed bugs & what the nurse said. I showed her the video of all the bugs..the daughter broke down & cried..She immediately had her mom transferred to another hospital in Westchester. Bed bugs, water bugs & roaches...the staff is to lazy to do anything but play candy crush. Sad that the staff knows that patients are being bit all over by bed bugs the bites turned to sores. I cried...

I went to Bellevue through an ambulance thinking i had a kidney infection. Well no, turns out I had sepsis with a severe kidney infection and was diagnosed about 30 minutes after arrival and admitted. I waited in the emergency room for a bed upstairs for 36 HOURS. Luckily, I had one phenomenal nurse who listened to my doctors (once admitted, the ER doctors stop treating you), took my vitals every four hours, and made sure I was doing okay. After her shift ended (my first 12 hours) it's like the nursing staff stopped caring about the patients that were admitted. I literally had to stop a charge nurse at one point who asked who I was -- (which goes to show, bad staff changing) but I knew better to raise my voice, pointed at the screens where they show names and vitals and told her I hadn't gotten antibiotics that day (which is what you need to get over sepsis) and she didn't call them up. I also begged for my vitals to be taken because I knew I had a fever and I wanted my charts to reflect my health both on and off the high doses of Tylenol they gave me your bring my fever down. I went a full day in the hospital without getting the antibiotics that I needed. ANTIBIOTICS. Once I got a bed, the nurses were still troubling -- forgetting to give medication, forgetting to take vitals. I am a healthy 25 year old woman and I was shocked at not only how they treated me but my roommates. I was in the hospital for quite sometime and was shocked watching new patients come into my room and the treatment they received by the nursing staff. The doctors were good, but on leaving gave me the wrong antibiotic prescription that a pharmacist had to tell me that they don't make it in that dose. I realize residency is difficult but time and accuracy can be vital to sustaining life. I would ask the management to evaluate nursing practice and triage as well as the hand off procedures. Residents should ensure a doctor knows what prescription is written through a doctor nod off or something so a patient who could have died wouldn't have to spend hours trying to get the right one written, for antibiotics! I would not advise this hospital. I felt they treated me poorly as with many of the patients. I understand how busy things can get but these are lives you're playing with.

I was with my best friend who is pregnant and has stitches on her cervix. She wake up bleeding and feel like her baby is coming out. They took an hour to attend her. She is pregnant why would u take that long to attend someone who bleeding out of their vagina. If she loses this baby I will make it rain hell on this hospital.

I had a clinic appointment at Bellevue and started vomiting. I was taken straight to E.R. No stops even to E.R. Reception to check in. I bypassed a crowded room of sick people. I was given the evil eye by a number of them. I felt sorry for them. Needless to say I was amazed by the special treatment. I was already in love with Bellevue. I had my Hip Replacement there, my primary doctor is there and I am seen in the various clinics. I don't mind waiting. I bring my E-reader, Puzzle Books, and snacks and drinks. Plus, I know the best times and days to schedule my appointments. I can honestly say I have never had a unpleasant experience at Bellevue probably because I am reasonable and know how to work the system. I also find those who shout, scream at hospital personnel and use crude and vulgar language are not seen any quicker than others. My mother always said treat others the way you would like to be treated. How true.

Coppelia Grajdeanu

The amount of time you spend here depends on the reason you are here for . Overall, I am really content with this hospital.

If you care about your loved ones of yourself please don’t take them there. My grandma was diagnosed with brain tumor and we needed surgery. Upon arrival the two older women were just disgusting. I have never met anyone rude to that extent before. We walking in with spicific instructions from the surgeon. Instead of helping they started to attack from the beginning. They didn’t stop until I got loud with them. People like that shouldn’t be working in the health care system. Some of the nurses at bellevue are just amazing. Some you just have to run away from. One nurse ripped off the ekg wires of my 83 year old grandma like it was nothing. My grandma was blind, couldn’t hear and the nurses approached was to kick us out of the door and start changing. An aid also dropped her while doing a transfer. They are not trained and have no people skills. She was in total fear and couldn’t wait to get out of there. Hospitals like Bellevue need to re evaluate there staff. Families shouldn’t have to worry about the service while in fear of there family members illness.

I just called I’m 40 weeks pregnant and just moved I can no longer make it to my obgyn doc thank god when I called I spoke to a women named Jennifer that was so friendly professional and a great help it seems small but it’s really a great feeling to call and just be helped instead of feeling like your a bother to someone that answers the phone which sadly happens more than likely thanks Jennifer !!! Idk you but you were awesome

This hospital is the WORST EVER!! My dad is in this hospital suffering with cancer I DID NOT like the way they told him!! He was discharged and still no treatment he went to an follow up appointment and was experiencing chest pain!! They made him walk from outpatient clinic to er!! He has wounds on both legs, cancer, and chest pains y no escort!! He sat in er for 2days with basically no pain meds just a diagnosis of pneumonia!! Supposed to be admitted I will suggest NOONE go to this hospital!! if something happens to my dad while in their care they will hear from my lawyers!! He will be getting moved from ASAP!! They should’ve have gotten no stars, however I had to give something in order to write review!!

Worst nurses ever. They are lazy. Stand around. Do nothing except complain a d behave rowdy with each other. They lack passion in health care - it is clear that they are tired of their jobs. If you are unfortunate to end up at this hospital, I hope you have a relative with you. They will let you drown in your own vomit. The doctors here are fine, many of them seem to care. But I couldn't find a single nurse that seemed professional. I was in the ER 04/11/2019 from 10am to 12am absolutely horrible nurses. Horrible service. Horrible.

They helped me book an appointment for the oral and maxillofacial surgery office for a checkup after the surgery. They gave me the paper with the date and time, called the day before to remind us about the appointment but when we got there, they said there was no appointment. I showed them the paper and they said they will have to reschedule the appointment

Mr XP

A public hospital with very long waiting time.

Mizanur Rahman

Depending on which clinic it's a hit or a miss. Actually kost of the clinic is just a mess. For example, I find it completely ridiculous that they would shut down an entire clinic for lunch instead of having scheduled/rotating lunch breaks. My mom had a 1:20pm appointment and knowing how long the wait is we arrived slightly after noon. The clinic wanted us to go get a xray so we go to the radiology clinic and guess what? Out for lunch until 1pm. I think the entire ambulatory clinic is a nightmare with over booking and waiting hours to be seen. There is a few good things though. The physical therapy team is amazing and rarely is there any overbooking or waiting. Most of the inpatient team is great in my opinion but the clinic itself is a mess.

Just had a very unpleasant experience with a blonde nurse where she basically explained away my symptoms and left me feeling absolutely awful. Worst experience ever.

Justin Russo

Orderly atmosphere good food for the young at heart fast paced environment cleanly

Fedlie Charles

I had a very bad experience there today

Gen D

Nice, friendly and caring staff

Nathaly Fiorella Labrador

Receptionist on the phone for patient information was extremely rude and yelling at me.

ayhan dogan

The worst referral office experience I have ever had in my life. They don't answer the phones. There's a machine responding each and every time and telling they will reach back and that never happens. The referrals sent there never get through and they don't respond to inquiries. The patient advocacy personnel are more approachable. I had to spend three weeks to get my referral there to be able to see a specialist on ear as I was having hearing loss and that's the only doctor that I could see through my health insurance but after three weeks of trial, it never happened. Somebody there is apparently not doing their job!

Robert Falk

Be forewarned that they don't allow you to accompany your spouse into the examination room. My wife & I were very uneasy about that. I don't even think it's legal to refuse a spouse, instead having them sit in the waiting room. It's always better to have an extra set of eyes and ears that you trust. You never know with these doctors these days. Despite that, it's a pretty good hospital.

K meme

I WOULD GIVE THIS HOSPITAL NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD IT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN NOOWW. IT STINKS HORRIBLY THE STAFF IS HORRIBLE AND THEY BAN YOU FOR THE DUMBEST REASON AND REFUSE TO LET YOU SEE YOUR FAMILY IN THERE I WOULDN'T GO THERE IF I WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD AND THAT WAS THE ONLY HOSPITAL ON THIS EARTH. CLOSE THIS HOSPITAL ASAP

Jahir Rahman

This is the worst hospital ever. Everyone is so rude and take forever to see doctor.

Joe Paskes

My brother fell from a 4 story building...When he was admitted to Bellevue Hospital, Dr. Michael Klein professor of the Trauma Team Division, went above and beyond his call of duty to save my brother’s life. Dr. Klein took a personal interest in my brother’s case. He wasn't satisfied until he was certain that the patent was fully recovering, so he could go home to be a healthy father for his children Our family owes a great debt of gratitude to the entire team DR. KLEIN... DR. SHAH AHMED... DR. JOSHUA RODRIGUEZ... DR. DAVID KURLAND... DR. CHARLES and all the rest They were very attentive and quick to respond to patient's every need Patient was taken care of in a professional manner, with much expertise and care, thanks to your great team

George Entwistle

I did an internship here in early 2000’s receiving not the worst evals. Teaching staff hard to find better in NYC or anywhere. Wonderful friends from my early years here endure still. Several years later, events and setbacks took a course that I couldn’t have ever imagined. One admission closely followed another until rather recently. The care and professionalism through my experience as patient has been extraordinary. My professional career began here and my healthy emotional life remitted over the last few years. Belvue is the best hospital in New York!

Samuel Huang

Destiny Joubert

Been on hold for 25 mins . And all they keep saying is your call is very important to us. Clearly not that important if you have me on the line for 24+ mins... very unprofessional

Carol Koronec

Sad. There no words......

Lee Cia

pathetic excuse for a hospital. surprised I didn't catch Staph or MRSA. literally patients crammed into hallways and doctors who have no idea how to treat a patient. PRAY you never have the misfortune of dealing with Bellevue.

Migdalia Medina

I was born in Bellevue Hospital (1965)..Heard it was one of the greatest hospitals in NEW YORK CITY!

Elvis D

Went to the urgent care today and the staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Overall great experience.

Isidor Odné

That’s a great place

Foysol Bhuiyan

Renew your medical card or if you have an appointment in here they gonna take your whole day, this is the slowest place in the earth.

Iris B

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! People in here are so rude I kindly asked for a lounge chair being that I was staying with my mom since she had severe surgery and once I went up there and asked they became very hostile and didn’t even let me talk I was just asking a simple question these ladies who work on the 15th are horrible!!!!!! Then they act as if they care about the patients but no consideration for the family members who are trying to be there for their love ones in a difficult time.

Denice Blair

I faxed over a request for some medical records and so did my lawyers, 3x's they said they never got them. I myself faxed over a request for my records from my 2 week stay for my blood pressure & heart. I re-faxed over the form and called to see if they received them and was surprised when they said they couldn't find it, I wonder what happened to my forms?

Bayi Diakité

worst place ever

Lorena Plaza

Best services. I can’t say the opposite. They always polite and attentive with the patients

My Primary care doc is here. So hellish an experience is this hospital it can only can be described as such: The usps of healthcare. Its like Im going to a clinic that is run by the dmv

Joseph Roberts

This hospital I don't recommend to anyone. The staff is very unprofessional and rude. After 5 mins of that I turned around and walked out never to return. Worst hospital in new york.

Jennifer Chan

Awful receptionist staff! but great doctors! I called to twice make an appointment with my thyroid specialist whom I have been seeing for years and the receptionists were awful. The first time I called, I gave them my record and asked to make an appointment with my specialist and the receptionist assumed I was making a general visit. I called back to reschedule the appointment and that is when I found out I was scheduled for the wrong doctor. The second receptionist couldn't find my records and when I tried to explain to her that I have been going to this hospital for years, she accused me of lying! The only redeeming thing about this hospital is their specialists! I called my specialists and left her a voicemail explaining what happened and she had a receptionist call me who was super nice and helpful! If you can avoid the receptionist at the general number, do it!! and ask your doctor for a number to call!!!!

heather grube

This review is about calling patient information. I am routinely on hold for 30+ minutes and no one ever picks up! This is insane!

Ross Jandrew

Very disappointing experience here. Please reconsider seriously finding care elsewhere. The nursing staff, security, NYPD and some doctors have very little compassion and care for the patients here. I overheard three nurses in the hallway discussing how “no one knows what they’re doing here.” This is surely a sign that this place needs an overhaul in professionalism and training of its staff. You will often find nurses and staff in their phones laughing and joking when patients are seeking care and information. The most recent visit here began at 5:30 AM and continues at 2:30PM which prompted me to begin this review. It is truly unfortunate when quality care still comes at a premium cost.

My aunt was in the emergency room and y was there for about 6 hours but I had lost my purse and phone, so I had no money. The staff were great and loaned me their phone and bought me lunch too. Thank you.

Some of the best medical professionals work here. I have been struggling for the past 48 hours to get some help with a problem with my insurance company. I was taken care of quickly, respectfully, and with sympathy.

Kristy Michelle Melton

This hospital was at its best from 1997-2012 when Dr. Eric Manheimer was the hospital director and Doctor after he left it went down hill fast I guess all the good doctors and nurses left also when Dr Manheimer did

Spiros Mavrudis

the hospital didnt adhere to the very thing that is the foundation of a hospital: medical ethics. it is modernly apparent that professional self interest, funding and business partnerships often disregard the very thing that is the basis for every field: ethics. one cannot profit from ethics. therefore it is often disregarded as a meaningless burden that can hinder ones self interest, business partnership or funding. if one is seeking a hospital of ethics, i would not recommend this hospital for this reason: it misdiagnosed me with symptoms that i did not have, and i was prescribed medication for symtoms that were not apparent. obviously bellevue, a hospital that is located in one of the most densely populated areas in the world, would be better if professionals careers were contingent on this one important thing: medical ethics it is blatant that the adherence of ethics only occurs in a ideal world--not in a modern business world how can a profesional define themselves as successful if they failed to adhere to the complexity of ethics excuse unedited cell phone grammar and structure

Shawn Pedersen_810

Why do I see so many negitive comments ? This hospital is supposed to be one of the best and with the best staff and care in the United States , If this hospital is not t like the show new Amsterdam , why would the show make it do fake when there are rude people ? Does the medical director not care no more ? Is it not all about patients no more and back to money ?

Forgem Nos

Avoid like the devil. This place is where you check on and don't check out. Go in the lobby and wind up on the 16th floor and there's no 16th floor..... The inmates run the asylum. The staff are rude and ghetto. Unless you're dying.... Go elsewhere. If you must go... Let some one know.

Gia

Waiting times beyond 2 hours despite having an appointment. Appointments rescheduled whether you can make it or not and I ended up not being seen for what I had scheduled. Definitely an awful service

Blue Neighbourhood

I came all the way from Queens to Manhattan because we HEARD this hospital was good. I had to go to the emergency room. The hospital was really nice on the inside but however, some of the nurses were really rude. When getting my IV injection on of the rude nurses said that she didn't care that she already had her car starting up when the other nurse asked couldn't I just sleep it out. She injected me on the wrong spot and I started to bleed everywhere, it took a little time before noticed that I was bleeding badly down my wrist. The other nurse who was ACTUALLY NICE helped me. The same woman who gave me the IV was really rude and was careless overall handling me. And I had to lay down uncomfortably too. The rude nurse just left me there with me left arm over my stomach. The IV wires just kept tangling up while I was trying to set myself to be in a comfortable position. When I asked politely to be moved they moved me out in the hallway with no privacy. Overall: JUST HORRIFIC.

KAMOLIDDIM JUNAYDOV

The doctors unexperience and also in emergency waiting time takes more than 2 hours even the patient is in extremely in pain they dont care, i dont recommend to go this hospital if your in serious problems.

The Food Is Horrible Really Not Edible. Some Dishes Look Like Cat Food. Hiring Of Young Nurse Huge Mistake As They Spend 90 percent of the time on it. Came in to ER 5 days ago. Still waiting to see therapist. Five Days of wasted time . And insurance getting Builder for nothing.

Jensen Manuel Fuentes

This is the worst hospital ever no private for patients the ER is a disaster My mother in law was 3 days in ER no doctor see her at all I dont recommend this hospital to anybody

Tamer Sergany

Very huge hospital with a great Au Bonne Pain cafe/bakery. Friendly staff that treat patients well.

Nurses are ruled not friendly Especially the Asians they are mean beware when they talk to you don’t back down to respond back with a back bone . And they leave there stations to hang out at other stations of post that they not to be at . Hangouts from other stations the 3- nurses that’s there two of them belongs in there desks

Horrible service after 2 years after you been seating down for an hour because no one is at the desk they come and tell you you were supposed to register at another reception like you mind reader..the sign says sign here if you have an appt it does not says go to any othe place to register

Terrible staff, terrible service, husband was in the emergency ward for HOURS waiting for a room. No one came to ask how his pain level was the entire time I was there. Waited until I came from PA to NY for a cup of water. They lost his clothes and sneakers. Horrible. They should be embarrassed.
