Overall very pleased. For the most part staff is very friendly and kind. Some miscommunication between day and night staff which has caused some issues, but all got resolved. Would recommend facility to other friends or family members.

I like it there. I was there for 6 Weeks in love it there. The food was excellent they have the best cooks. And the best case manager that it is her name is Judy she is one of the best ones I ever came in contact with. She really tries to help you in and out of this place upon my release. It is great service and all of the nurses RN and CN are very kind even physical therapy was a blast to do all had great smiles on their face all the time. but one nurse in particular stood out amongst the rest her name was Shalita she helped me through the six weeks like I was at home and I really appreciate her for that so please AMG keep having great service and hiring great staff this place will be around for a long time I hope so my name is LEECOBRA E HAMPTON AND IT REALLY DO FEEL LIKE HOME AWAY FROM HOME.,,

this place deserves less than one star, everyone acted like the patient was a constant bother. and when my loved one pressed the call button they wouldn’t tend to their needs, the floor was always sticky, there were roaches in the room & bathroom. and overall it was a terrible experience, if you want your loved one to have a good recovery surrounded by kind and caring staff i suggest taking them to Kindred, not this hell hole.

This place is an utter disgrace to health care. The entire staff is lazy and shows absolutely no respect to the patients. The other reviews are correct! They don't pay attention to the patients at all! My entire family explained several times that my mother was being heavily over medicated and it is blatent. Flat out, they were over medicating so they didn't have to deal with her. (She cain be a pain sometimes) She is on oxygen 24/7/365 of her normal life. She was in here recovering from surgery and pneumonia. Twice, she fell in the late hours trying to get out of bed while being overly medicated on narcotics. The first time, she pressed her button because her oxygen stopped working comming from the wall. She was told the nurses were on shift change and there was no one to help her. She proceeded to roam ghe hallways gasping for air looking for an oxygen tank only to find the staff congregating in their break area. She made it back to her room and could not get the oxygen tank to work. She collapsed with her phone in hand, while dialing 911. When the ambulance arrived, the staff continued to snicker and make fun of the fact that my mother had to dial 911 while in there care (Nurses) The most absurd thing? Not one of the four emergency contacts on her board were ever notified of this. We found out from her the next day and was told by staff the reason was because "there was nothing wrong" just disgusting. We then made the terrible decision to keep her there based upon the OWNERS/CEO (Ken) promise that better care would be taken of our mother. I recieved a call, today 7/29/2018 at 6:00am from a nurse telling me that my mother was found unresponsive around midnight last night, and it appears she had fell down. I show up 20 minutes later to find four nursing staff sitting in there lounge area and my mo. In her bed, smelling like urine and stained blood all over her, breathing very low and making gurgling noises WITH NO OXYGEN! I went and asked for a supervisor and in return I was stared at like I was lost. I told them I was taking my mom out of there terrible place. I proceeded to pack my mom's things and take them out to my car. When I went to come back in, they had locked the doors on me!! As if that was going to prevent me from getting to my mother. I went in and took my mother out, and as I approach the door, a nurse had the audacity to try and get me to sign something! Bunch of lackluster people who should NOT be caring for people who have to depend on them for care. Just disgusting! The way they treat people here. Pure GARBAGE.

Had a great experience at AMG. The staff works with so much patience and compassion with not only patients, but the families and friends of those in their care. Communication was excellent, and everyone was thorough in exploring all reasonable care options during a very challenging time.

Even after my son has been released from AMG this staff is still in contact with us!!!!!! What an amazing group. My son is paralyzed from an accident, and because of your work has only spent 1 mo. at the new rehab. Myriah, Fetema, Missy,Heather Cindy, and all the personal that made him feel like a real person. Love to all The Haight and Hall Family

I have a friend who is recovering at Progressive Hospital I have been there 5 times so far for a total of 8 hours avg per day My friend has been recovering very quickly from a 5 week coma, after two weeks he is speaking in sentences and breathing well, I can attribute this to his will, but that would not matter if he was not treated well. They have up-to-date medical monitoring systems as well as the latest technology to minimize bed sores. The staff seems to want my friend to recover quickly and do what is necessary to make him comfortable. The place is always clean, they clean him at least 2 times a day. There is no offensive odor like one finds in many similar places. The layout of the place is nice and inviting. I wish I could have found a place like this for my late Mother-in-law who was very precious to me.

I was in the hospital two weeks ago at Presbyterian hospital and needed a place to be transferred to. I met a woman from this place and thought things would be ok. I have an open wound and have seen how negligent this place is within just a few days. They only have 25 beds and after a surgeon took off my dressing change i was left for several hours before someone adddressed it. Leaving me open to germs and further infection. Most of the staff here dont seem to have any real faith in this place. I learned that just by asking questions. People that work here are mostly moody and reserved. This is not a place to find much hope for a sick family member this place is run by desparation and arrogance. I hope i get out of here alive. Save yourself and your families the trouble. Dont come here.

Our daughter was admitted to AMG hospital directly from ICU. We were very pleased with her care during her stay. She was treated very well by all the staff. Doctors were open and friendly. And the techs were pretty great! We were concerned about our daughter’s skin integrity and our concerns were taken very seriously. Because AMG rooms are private we were able to stay with her all the time. During her stay (3 weeks) we were able to have her de-cannulated which was very important to us. I would recommend this facility to my family and family.

Our experience at AMG really wasn't pleasant. The techs were good and a few of the nurses were also good. It's the overnight who don't tend to the patients often. Things get lost. So if you bring in personal items make sure you check it in with staff. Also it's not very clean after your family member settles in. We had to throw trash left in the room away. I met others whobhad family there and they weren't pleased with their stay there. So if you have any othet options, please take it. Don't recommend this place.

My daughter was sent to AMG on August 15th, following a motor-vehicle accident that caused Traumatic Brain Injury. I am grateful to the CEO, Kendra, for making it possible to be by our daughter’s bedside and never making us feel like we were in the way. The staff came together after hearing us out and provided our daughter with star treatment. There are many staff members I want to recognize for truly caring for my daughter, I can only name a few. We thank- Nurses Sigita, Christine, Jessica and Joe, we were confident Jenna was in good hands while you all were on duty and you each genuinely cared for her safety and well-being. The Techs that stood out and never treated our daughter like a burden are Azlea, Dennius, Andy, Ofelia, and Alma. Respiratory Therapist are Cynthia, Misty, and Brandi, and Physical Therapist Clint. Moriah, the caseworker and Misty really pulled through for our daughter and went above and beyond to help us fight for our daughter’s next level of care. I recommend AMG for Long-Term Acute Care. I went in knowing almost nothing about my daughter’s injury to having a much better understanding of my daughter’s next steps to recovery, thank you AMG for believing my daughter could fight TBI, you all are appreciated!

I usually do not leave reviews on places, but this place had given me such a horrid first impression that I felt I needed to. I was visiting AMG Hospital to try and find a suitable place to transfer a very ill family member, and I was sourly disappointed with this location. The building, for starters, is in shambles. There are almost no signs leading to where you need to go, and the elevator is loud and rickety. I am not a paranoid person, but I took the stairs on the way down to avoid getting back in that elevator. The location itself is very dull; very few windows and depressing lighting. But that's not what disappointed me the most. I wanted to look past this, and so when I found the hospital, I decided I'd give it a chance aside from aesthetic. A receptionist was not at the front desk. I walked down the hallway to find a nurses station instead, wishing to speak to someone about a tour, patient rooms, visiting hours, etc. Two nurses were speaking in the hallway, and both of them barely regarded me as I walked past. When I went to the nurse's station, there were four nurses working at the computers. All four of them made eye contact with me, and went back to their computers. Not ONE nurse asked me if I needed help. I stood there for about 20 seconds, waiting, smiling. And then I decided that was enough. It was only when I was leaving in a frustration that one of the two nurses originally having conversation in the hallway asked me if I needed something, completely ignoring that they disregarded my confused look the first time around. I told them I had seen enough. I am not going to leave my sick family member in the hands of people who aren't even competent enough to do basic customer service, say hello to a guest or have a sign-in book ready. Every single one of them looked unhappy to be there. My family member deserves a kind and caring place, and from first impression alone, I got the feeling this was not it.

Worse place to leave a family member!!! They don’t watch over them at all! My father is there a few days to recover and they won't do anything unless you keep reminding them to do so. Don't leave a family member alone in this place!

Tracey Dunne

My mom was here for over a month, and received EXCELLENT care, and I have been a medical social worker and discharge planner for 24 years, so I should know. She hates doctors and hospitals and had nothing but nice things to say about the staff, so many positive comments about their kindness when she had a horrible case of c diff and had to be helped to the bathroom and cleaned up constantly. I can't even remember all the names, there were so many great staff. The wound care was superior, better than UNM, and she had a very large, difficult wound. She especially loved Dios, the wound care nurse. I referred a patient here and they got Excellent care as well, and the family was very happy. Social Worker Moriah was so helpful both with my mom and my patient. I will continue to refer here with confidence when my patients meet their criteria.

Not the biggest fan dad was put here after having the flu and pneumonia. Staff was not very responsive lack good communication skills. At one point dad was having hard time so I calmly and politely went out and asked if somebody could come check on him the nurse came in said oh he's fine and I said well he said he says he's having trouble breathing at least try to do something any of the other steps that you can take so then she ran out of the room we got the respiratory therapist who came in and told me the same thing on top of accusing me that it was my fault that he was having trouble breathing

Very nice personal and helpful

Heartbroken. My grandmother was only at this place for a about a month and a half. She and we were told that this place would help her manage her wound vac from a recently debrided sore she acquired from her wheelchair (she was a paraplegic). Before she entered this facility she lived alone predominantly independent, with a PCT that would aid her in transferring. She arrived at this facility coherent, scared, but hopeful. She left this place, after a month in a half as of two days ago, in a vegetative state. She died yesterday. Severely dehydrated, malnutrished and fluid overloaded. I am heartbroken. Their beds and mattresses are outdated, not suitable for patients with low Braden scores. Poor diet choices for patients with diabetes and hypertension. Overall poor accountability of their patients. Do NOT send your loved ones here.

I was admitted to the amg a couple years ago and the nurses and staff were very professional and made my experience there comfortable I would recommend this place to anyone in need of healthcare

AMG is amazing. Their staff was very attentive to my grandfather’s needs! They helped us through a very hard time and made sure we knew and understood my grandpas condition. The hospital was always clean and the nurses wore gloves and gowns when entering the room. They walked us through every procedure that was done and wouldn’t leave until all our questions were answered. Everyone was very polite and friendly, they definitely made us feel safe when leaving my grandpa for the evenings. I would recommend AMG! Also, Moriah was very helpful in discharging my grandfather to an out of state Nursing Facility.so he could be closer to his wife. Whom he’s been apart from over a year now. We really appreciate everything that shes done! She really made the transition as smooth as possible! Thank you!
