I brought my daughter to the emergency room with a kidney stone/bladder infection issue. I felt the entire emergency room staff did a very good job. Most importantly, I feel like they listened and gave appropriate weight/attention to my concerns. Job well done.

Took my 11 year old daughter to Urgent Care on a Sunday evening because she had been running a fever since Thursday. The PA came in, checked her ears and throat, listened to her heart and lungs. Said her lungs sounded normal. Looked up her nose and said her sinuses were swollen. Diagnosis was sinusitis. She spent probably 5 minutes looking her over, prescribed amoxicillin, which she said probably wouldn't work anyway, and released us. Tuesday, I had to pick my daughter up early from school because her fever spiked again. Took her to our regular family doctor, who did a thorough exam and ordered chest xrays, because he could here rattling in her lungs. Guess what, pneumonia!! This is the 2nd time she has been misdiagnosed and it ends up she has pneumonia. Both times at Jennie. I will not be using this hospital ever again.

My mother put me in that place when i was in 7th grade for what she claimed was a mental problem. I still have night terrors from what they did to me and I'll be 41 years old this year. The treatment I received was degrading and inhumane. I leave this post hoping that if there's a parent or parents considering sending a child there don't. It left me a bitter person with nothing but hate for my mother.

Found located on the North End of Council Bluffs right on the main drag through town. Seems to have a bit of an issue with emergency department. The building itself is updated and fancy and clean as well. They lack the personal Touch of a caring staff. On several occasions I myself as well as others I know I ran into issues with admittance and have also been declined or released with a improper diagnosis that have led to very serious outcomes. I would definitely be prepared for the brush-off. Although some of the specialist and Physicians happened to be some of the best if you can get them to take you seriously or to take their time to get your history prior to being released quickly. It's the attending physician and nurses in the ER that create this feeling of being forgotten or often making you feel as if your symptoms don't exist. When given a choice I prefer the back alley dock with a scalpel any day over having to deal with the headache and the impersonal treatment that I and several others have received in this facility.

The emergency room is not the place you want to go. The staff aren't supportive of each other. They do seem to care well for the patients. The building needs updated so bad. The walls had paint pealing off and just old and outdated. Didn't make me feel like was clean and the best environment. The doctors buildings are better. They have a small gift shop. The sleep clinic is great.

Horrible experience, sent to the second floor to do lab work, the lady was rude no smile, seemed like we were an inconvenience to her, tried drawing blood from my 1 year old son for his 1yr check up, which I was told by the Doctor was supposed to be a finger prick, the lady kept going even when I asked what she was doing, this wasn't what his doctor had said, I litterly grabbed my kid outta the seat and left..very unprofessional...they have time out signs posted in there rooms...to bad they don't follow it. At the end of the day your a business, you will not get mine again.

My daughter just had her baby here! The staff was fabulous for a first time mom! The nurses were excellent and took such good care of them!! The Anesthesiologist that took care of the epidural was so professional. He made her feel at ease during the procedure and was so knowledgeable. The dr and midwife did an excellent job!

Just had my second child here instead of mercy because of a following procedure.....the staff as a whole are wonderful! By far the best care they could give to a person having a baby. Made my experience becoming a mommy again so much more relaxing.!!!!

I've had two surgeries, a R. hip replacement, and an appendectomy. The Care, I believe was top notch. My bell was answered promptly and meds were given on time, pain meds were given when I asked for them w/o waiting. My wife spent six months there due to a gastric perforation. She was taken to surgery immediately and the Doctor did not mince words, which was appreciated after the surgery was completed. We came close to losing her, but I believe that the Care she received from the Doctors, her will to live, and the Nurses and entire Staff is the reason she's still with us. Another thought, my mother-in-law was in for uti's and pneumonia fairly frequently, and she always came home in much better shape than when she went in. The Nurses were always happy to talk on the phone with me (provided I called at the proper time) when I wasn't able to get to the hospital to see her that day. Finally, I'd like to reiterate that I believe that the Doctors, Nurses, the Staff and all the treatments and Cares they provide are equal to or above any of the hospitals in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metropolitan area. Thank You!

It’s hard enough to lose your loved one. It’s harder still when you take the advice of the doctor at the ICU only to learn he doesn’t care. My dad passed away on May 16th after a battle with lymphoma. The doctor in the ICU advised us to stop all treatment. He said it was best. We believed him. The doubts didn’t creep in until after talking more with the doctor about a mistake he made on the death certificate. He listed colon cancer as one of the causes. The medical records office showed us where he listed as a preliminary cause of death as pancreatic cancer. Does it matter what he died from? Yes. It can affect benefits received. It has a historical impact for anyone doing genealogy work. But mainly, it started to cause us to wonder…how much time did he spend truly understanding my dad’s case? Did we make the decision to remove care based on a doctor that didn’t care? Was the treatment my dad receiving at the other hospital correct or did he have a type of cancer we didn’t know about? It’s hard enough to lose someone, but the doubt was another grey cloud. The first call with Dr. Goswami was okay. He told my mother that there may have been a reason or it may have been a mistake. He gave us a call back the following Friday. It was a mistake. He seemed irritated then but said he would look into changing if we wanted. The second call on Tuesday, May 29 was worse. He said they were removing colon cancer as a cause. My mother asked if lymphoma would be added. He said that they weren’t sure. He said that they couldn’t get a clear look at the VA records to know. That there were new metastasis growing. That their oncology doctor never looked at him. So, he didn’t understand the patient’s history. He didn’t understand his health issues, but he recommend the removal of all care. He told my mother, a widow after 46 years of marriage, that it wasn’t a big deal. It’s just a big paperwork issue. He then said Dear Lord to himself in annoyance. See we’re just grieving the loss of a life. A husband, a father of 10, a grandfather of 17. And an uncle to so many that cared. Dr. Goswami on the other hand… he has 20 sick patients to deal with. He doesn’t have time for this. He even asked my mother what she wants put on the death certificate. The answer was the truth. When asked if he had a supervisor he said I’m a physician. I don’t report to anyone. Call the main hospital number. Tell someone there. As if, he’s too important. Too big to care about this or to have someone that monitors his performance. Supposedly he’s going to look into this, but he has no respect for the life lost or the family that is grieving. He’s an important man. Busy. Who cares if he’s eroded the trust our family put into listening to his advice. We’re not naïve enough to believe that my father would have been healed completely by coming to the ICU at Jennie-Edmundson. He had terminal cancer. But now, we are left wondering. Did we make the right choice in removing all care? Could he have rebounded? Could he have came home? Was the doctor too busy to actually look at my father’s case? He doesn’t know what type of cancer he had. He doesn’t seem to care why he died. And we’re left with the impression that Dr. Goswami never cared if he lived. & that’s who assured us it was time to remove all care. The lack of empathy is appalling. We get it. You’re a busy, all important doctor. My dad was just a veteran who most likely got lymphoma from his time in Vietnam. We are just a wife, a daughter, a family who lost someone we loved. Who cares? Not Dr. Goswami. He’s too busy. A physician at Jennie-Edmundson. That’s the treatment you get. I will say all the nurses were fantastic. We had no issues with them. I did reach out to their customer care via FB direct message before posting this. At 1st no one responded. I asked for a response & was told someone would call or email me. NOTHING. Edit: A week ago I finally got a call from Donna Hubble. She was suppose to call back. Today I called and left another

Medical Records Department Positives: Single worker is thorough and complete when helping folks in the business office obtain their medical records. Negatives: Single worker In my case, someone with more complex needs was ahead of me in the office, there are no chairs in the business office to sit down while you wait. There were 3 other workers that were doing "other work" sitting at desks in the same office, however none offered to help. Someone came in behind me and evidently knew one of them and she was helped immediately, by passing me. Perhaps it's not "their job" to assist this one clerk, however the perception is awful. All my patience ran out when the client in front of me requested a custom letter (stating that hadn't received services, which the clerk stated clearly that if no record exists, it should be self-explanatory, but she graciously accommodated them). Finally, I should NEVER have to fill out my name, address, birthdate, at the TOP of a forms request! YOU HAVE THIS INFORMATION in multiple locations! I should simply need to sign and date and compare that info to my Driver License I had to provide! By the time you yellow highlight those areas, you could have filled it out, but, you shouldn't HAVE to, the form should merge with the patient record and fill it out! So, not a good experience, hire another clerk, the MRI is for a health issue that shouldn't include standing!

The intake staff was awesome. Respectful. I asked for a tramadol from the nurse Jill and how offended they got. I swear they started treating me like I asked for crack. I'm a preschool teacher. Thank God for ibprofin. The nurses then started talking down to me. I will not return. Very rude. I pray that God will bless them.

Makayla Nadler

Worst experience ever. My brother is in the ICU currently. He's been here for 3 days. Day one, he was sweating so much he soaked his sheets... They still haven't been changed. The nurses are terrible. They are rude, and never come in to check on him. We can never get a straight answer from anyone. They forgot to hook him back up to his monitors for 4 hours and don't come when you call them. Very unprofessional nurses -- talking about other patients to us, which I know is against all sorts of rules. I don't recommend this hospital to anyone!

Char Long

Have used this hospital my entire life. Have worked at both at one time or another and have always been impressed with the level of care at Jennie. Never a problem getting seen but we do not use the ER for a primary doctor-it is there for emergencies. Highly recommend.

Jon-N-Charlotte Stanton

Worst hospital ever. My wife asked several times if the procedure she was there to complete was pre-authorized or covered because she was afraid it wasn't. She was assured it was. And it was not. Now we get to pay $1900 because of the incompetence of this staff and the hospital overall. After months of trying to get this resolved, WE had to call back because they were too scared to call us knowing it was going to be a conflict. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL.

I called to set up an appointment with an OBGYN because I thought I was pregnant. The lady said that I would have to take a pregnancy test at home, first... Get a positive result, then call to schedule an appointment. How in the hell are they considered a hospital? So if I think I have breast cancer do I have to give myself a mammogram and then schedule an appointment afterwards? Anyway... She preceeded to say if I don't want to do that that I can go to the OBGYN I've been had in Omaha, NE. Obsurd!!! Blatant disregard to whatever situation I was/could have been in and horrible customer service. Unless, of course, she said this because my name sounds like a black woman's name.

Well mercy hospital removed my gallbladder yesterday! After visiting your emergency department last Tuesday morning for shape pains in my upper right quadrant your staff did a little bloodwork came back in told me I just had some gas and offered me a gi cocktail. I refused the cocktail and walked home with my 9 year old son in excruciating pain. But chalked it up to simply needing to fart! Thanks so much. Obviously your hospital was my go to hospital until that day. I will never be back.

Thought they were so good place to go and easy to get to for a small town driver. They seem to grasp at straws to find reason to keep a patient in longer then nesasary so they can get more money. Will not listen to the patient or their family. Husband recently in cause they were looking for a stroke but nurses did not think much was wrong cause they didn't show up much. Even after Dr said he didn't have a stroke after an unessasary mri the nurses kept coming in asking questions like he did. Instead of telling us the results of a second mri the day it was done waited til the next day so we could be there an extra night for more money. Would like to give them the bill for the 2 and half days I missed work. The gas and for someone taking care of our dog.

My mother was released today after a major psychotic episode, after only 5 days in psychiatric inpatient care. My mother, who has been evicted from her apartment, is unstable and homeless, yet deemed ready to be released and I think this is gross negligence on the part of this hospital. The charge nurse had the gall to request I move my seriously mentally ill and psychotic mother 2700 miles away to be with me, even though she presents a clear risk to herself and others, and to my young son-- rather than treating her in a mental hospital where she very clearly belongs. The couldn't get rid of her fast enough, rather than give her the treatment and time to stabilize, she so clearly needs. Shameful.

Kc Caruso

Terrible hospital to people that I loved passed away there and they don't have an MRI machine big enough to fit anyone over 300 pounds Plus I was there several years ago and they told me I had cancer and it was gall bladder Head have biopsies Had to have unnecessary biopsies Don't go there to death trap

Anissa Franks

Needed to speak with a nurse. I called Mercy first and they were very rude and do not allow you to call to speak with an ER nurse or offer any advice to help you decide if it would be worth it to go in or not. I then called Jennie and was transferred directly to a ER nurse who was very helpful and explained what they do as far as treatment goes. I'm not saying I haven't had problems with both hospitals in the past.. Just that Jennie understands an ER visit is expensive enough, but worse if they can do nothing to help on top of it. So having the availability of speaking to a nurse is extremely helpful. They are also more flexable when setting up a payment plan.

On a recent visit to Iowa I experienced an emergency medical situation. I was taken to the ER at Jenny Edmonson hospital. The Doctors, nurses and staff were all very professional and concerned. After being admitted to the hospital I also received the very best care from the all involved in my treatment. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. I'm home now and doing better thanks to the care I received at Jenny Edmonson hospital. K Harris

I received OBGYN services, gave birth to my son, and had a surgery at MJEH and have nothing but wonderful things to say about their patient care, communication, and follow-up. In addition, my son has breathing difficulties and their on-call nurses are so supportive and helpful. Thank you MJEH!

I brought my mom in on Christmas afternoon with bad side pain. You would have thought you were in a third world country. The staff could not be any slower and unhelpful. On the second night of her stay she ask the nurse for help from the bed to the chair. The nurse screamed if you go in that chair you will stay in it for three hours, thats till 5 o'clock am and I do not want to hear another word from you. When we checked out 2 nights later we could not get a answer to what was wrong with my mom.Sorry no doctor available at this time all we are told is she needs to get planty of rest and to see her doctor in a week.Found out it was a pulled muscle and billed 20,000 dollars.Never going back...

Went there over the weekend for our daughter. Dr Castillo, nurse Tracy, CT and Imagaing all staff was awesome and helpful. Check in was slow and painful but well worth the wait as treatment and how they help our daughter was excellent. Thank you all!

This is the hospital I was born at and my child will be born at. I couldn't think of a better hospital. Any problems i have ever had they have helped with or treated, I got fantastic care.

Went to Jenny rd on Sunday at 630 am. With a massive headache I do have a history of blood clot. Lost my leg do to a blood clot. My husband went to ask when they were going to do the scan that was ordered by the doctor and he did have his phone on record didn't know he could not the nurse Chris was rude called security. U would think with my history they would have taken care of me right away. Nurse stated they were busy. We looked at board when we came in 2 people besides me. And 8 doctor or nurses stood at desk talking and laughing while we wait. I didn't want to go to hospital to begin with because I have a history of opioid use and I know how they look at me when I come in. But I've not been on or used opioid in over 70 days it seems once you are labeled you don't get the care you should. I told my husband this would happen. Now he got to see for himself. Needless to say we left with out care.wont be back. Won't recommend your hospital.

If I could rate the doctors office less than half a star I would! I used to highly recommend this place until yesterday that is. Absolutely disappointed. Needed my med (anti anxiety med) refilled. I have BAD panic attacks and was also on a diet pill due from another med causing weight gain. Wrote into the best care app and was told by my doctors nurse that not only was he telling me to stop the diet pill (which was fine) but was also refusing to fill the anti anxiety med as well and that I needed to see a psychiatrist. I have never been so panicked! I wrote his nurse back asking then how was I supposed to go off the diet pill because any other time I was weaned off of it and without my anti anxiety med I was concerned about doing this, I was also concerned about stopping my anti anxiety med (cold turkey) as well because this particular one you can’t just stop. No med I’ve been told you should just stop. She wrote me back saying it was fine and I could just stop taking both. My husband was on the phone all throughout the morning going to voicemail after voicemail trying to get ahold of someone. Ultimately I had to speak to another nurse that told me he would fill the anti anxiety med until the 14th when I see my psychiatrist, but after that he would be done seeing me for medication all together. She also said how they felt it was the diet pill giving me my anxiety (I’ve had anxiety since I was 18 panic attacks and all way before this diet pill) but once I stopped the pill I should be good and wouldn’t need the anti anxiety med at all, I also saw this doc for depression as well but apparently nevermind that! I did screen shot all messages. Also had a friend call up there and ask the same nurse that had wrote me back if any of their docs just take people off this particular anti anxiety med and she said no no doctors there would do that. I feel totally alone now as far as finding a new primary goes as this is it not the first time I’ve dealt with issues with one of the nurses there was actually two others as well but now I’m just FED UP! Absolutely LOVED my doctor but now I’m honestly scared, ashamed and embarrassed to make any other future appointments, these nurses make you feel like a junkie, like your looking for a fix or something. NO ONE should be made to feel that way and if a doctor wants to pull you off of medication then I feel that should be discussed at an appointment and you should be given enough to last at least until you find a proper doctor to take over. Take my advice and seek treatment elsewhere the runaround you’ll get from these nurses is not worth it....

Zarabeth Looper

I'm here with my fiance and he's receiving the best care possible thank you so much the nurses amazing and the CNA's are terrific

Jo Flores

Sometimes I have really great care from ER doctors, other doctors in ER are abrupt or downright mean. As for the surgical teams, sometimes I get great care and sometimes mishaps happen. Overall, I continue going there for only these two things and it seams a hit or miss on what kind of service I am going to receive. The nurses in both I have no complaints about, they really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. I really love the nursing staff.

Jonathan Sullivan

They saved my life and showed great care. I didn't feel like just another patient. It felt like I was being taken care of by family.

Laura Zeleny

Excellent caregiver in the ER, Brittani the traveling nurse. She went way beyond her nursing ability and her humanitarianism was above board. I will defintely pay it forward. Thank you

Great nurses and CNAs, very attentive, treated me like a queen. Tests run fast to see if I had blood clots in my legs and I was having afib, they treated me very well, great communication. Drs were uppity snobs[we are used to that, think they are God] but yet informative.

Frank Jones

This is like a large small-town hospital. If you need low-level care, such as a healthy labor & delivery, Jennie Ed will be fine. If you need anything anything more complex, just keep driving over to Omaha where there's a chance they'll get it right.

Cheryl Beuterbaugh

I went to Jenny Edmundson by ambulance after a fall down the stairs they treated me poorly. I had to repeatedly tell them what body parts were injured I had multiple injuries including a head injury, after the ct scan and X-rays they let me know I had no breaks or brain bleeds Then they gave me Tylenol n acted as if I was a addict asking for pain medication. They released me with no assistance I was dazed and confused never assisted me out or even made sure I had a ride I will never go there again

Cory Feltner

Good grief this place needs updating and renovation It’s like going back to the late 70’s early 80’s Younger generation should go here to see what it was like back then !!

I really hate going to this location for medical stuff. Seems like everytime I visit this facility I am double billed for something or have some other issues with billing. The billing department of this location really needs to get their act together. The picture I posted is the most recent example of such a billing mistake.

This sorry of a horrible place almost costed my life. I came into their er after not being able to get out of bed for 2 weeks my balance was off i could barely open my eyes temp every night at 103 so Jenny Ed diagnoses me with UTI and sends me home with one petty antibiotic i laid in bed 6 more days come to find out i was 24 hrs away from death i ended up going to unmc and right away they said i had pnemonia then they told me i had endocarditis and sespis doctors were surprised i was still alive and turns out i needed heart surgery my kidneys were failing my lungs were filling up with blood and jenny couldnt detect none of this?? Shame on them because i now wonder if they would have cought my infection sooner my valve on my heart wouldnt have so much damage and now i have to be on meds the rest my life and wear this narly scar down my chest Jenny is known for misdiagnosis all the time this place needs shut down save some lives because thank god to Nebraska Medical Center i am still alive at the age 28

**ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY + ZERO EMPATHY = ZERO STARS ** FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!! A different Doctor -- literally, cross the bridge and have the ambulance take you to Bergan Mercy, Immanuel, Med Center, Methodist, or Children’s - a week ago, had ankle/leg broken in 3 places - yup THREE -- had surgery 9 screws and a plate placed. PLEASE NOTE -- Did NOT choose Dr Abraham, he was the Dr assigned to us in the hospital (the hospital was CHI across the street) Discharged a 2/22 -- Rx for 40 pain pills and a follow up appt with Dr Abraham 03/07 -- (2 WEEKS AWAY) They called 1 time to follow up..... the pain is excruciating, unbearable at times. The 5/325's were gone, when the pills got low -- did what any reasonable person would do -- Called the Dr's office. Never had the ability to speak with the clinical staff, only was given the option to leave a voicemail..... left 3 ---- got a call back, but with almost zero mobility, missed the call, they didn't leave a voicemail and when called right back.... was only given the option to leave a message. Found out when we called in the THE NEXT DAY that the prescription was ready the day before but it was 10 min before closing - the Dr wasn't in the office.... it took 6 hours to get the Rx, but due to their delays and excuses, we couldn't pick it up until the next day --- a week out of a major surgery.... and left to fend for yourself.... Oh and the new Rx, they lowered the dosage from 2 pills (which if you recall, wasn't enough to kill the pain) to only 1 pill.... their answer "You haven't been seen in our office" HELLO, that’s because you didn't set my appointment until 03/07 ------- you don't answer your phones, you don't call me back, you've only checked in with me ONE TIME !!! What is a person supposed to do?? How it this care??? This is beyond unethical and downright deplorable!! You cant even call to say, "hey, we got your message, we're working on it" --- So when you try to get to the bottom of this and see how to prevent this from happening in the future - When you talk to their front office staff (Pamela), they tell you, oh you need to talk to the clinical staff (Roxy), then the clinical staff say, ohhh you need to talk to the clinic manager (Amy), then you get told, oh you should talk to the Clinic Admin (Vicky)..... who's not there??? She's MIA -- but at every turn they push it back on the Dr or "oh you need to talk to the hospital (CHI)" --- because they wrote the wrong name on the first script and we had to go back and get it corrected so that the pharmacy will fill it..... but its a handwritten script, not a print out Amy...??? but "you've never seen that before" - PLEASE PEOPLE -- Save yourself the time, trouble, anxiety and undo stress, go somewhere else. This office, their staff, this facility ---> Miller Ortho @ the Edmundson place does not care about its patients. You'll be left floundering and feeling alone.... and yup, its Friday, so we have to figure out how to get through the weekend, we were told we cant use any OTC meds to manage the pain due to bleeding concerns..... only excuse after excuse... **ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY + ZERO EMPATHY = ZERO STARS **

Once my family left, they treated me like garbage! Blood pressure out of control, had to urinate, they made me wait for two hours before they came in, staff is way to rushed. Doctor said I had a stoke, and on my medical I cannot have CT SCAN DYE, yet they gave it to me anyway. the Nurses from other floors were sweet, but they to was treated bad by the ER STAFF. two of my heart leads came off my chest, the beeping went on for a hour and yet no one came in to see, yet they are responsible to watch your vitals from their stations. I said enough, than a bald headed bouncer like gut comes in and make me sign a paper that I want to leave because of the abuse, no one would help me get my street close back in, than he takes me out and leaves me. this hospital is a joke, and it really makes me wonder of some of the deaths are not cause by pure neglect. this is not the first time, but it will be the last time, I hope someone sues the pants off these jokers. there is a lot more to say, But I will leave it here. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES TO THIS PLACE!

***WARNING**** Be careful when you take a family member or yourself to this hospital. There is a respiratory therapist that works here who does not respect or honor the HIPPA laws. It's a disgrace to the profession and this hospital should be ashamed to have a nurse, doctor, respiratory therapist working there who does not honor their oaths. ****WARNING***** IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD HAVE
