Came over in the night was walking back to my car when a security guard stopped my and my friend and told us that we needed to get back to the car and leave so we politely answered okay and started to walk towards the side walk he said um no this way and forced us to walk in the parkinglot instead of the sidewalk without cars on it and followed us to the car when we were clearly leaving anyway rudest experience ive had here will never send my family here agai

My son was involved in a car accident. He spent 51 days in a hospital. Thirty of those in Maddonna. When he arrived he was unable to speak, walk, feed, himself and incontinent. He walked out 30 days later. What a awesome place to be. I highly recommend .

After a life altering accident I was lucky to be able to go to Madonna Rehabilitation for my therapy needs. After only 2 months I was strong enough to return back home. Thank you to the wonderful people at Madonna for believing in me and pushing me to never give up!

As a former patient I have nothing but great things to say about Madonna and the staff there! I was air lifted to a hospital in KS immediately following my head injury and they were very negative with their thoughts on my recovery and did not properly care for me while there but I am beyond thankful today that my family chose to then move me to Madonna for care. While being at Madonna for about 6months I under went several different therapies for brain injury including occupational, speech, physical, etc and with less than a 10% chance of coming out of a coma the nurses and therapists there did that and so much more. I became great friends with the staff there and hated having to leave but after leaving I graduated college, am running, and do more than my family could ever imagine. Thank you Madonna, you gave me the therapy I needed and gave me the care no other hospital or therapist could!! I would highly recommend Madonna to anyone looking for therapy, they work miracles! =)

They claim to be about caring and helping, but they're taking my now unemployed, crippled mother to court over a $450ish bill. This is clearly a bully tactic as the costs of representation alone would astronomically be higher. I can't wait to showcase their awful treatment of residents and their families to an open court.

The first time I walked into Madonna rehabilitation center 2015. My father had a stroke

Spent three months there went from not talking, walking, going to the bathroom alone, wanting to die, to a functional human being again. Can say with certainty, best in the Midwest! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if a loved one has traumatic brain injury.

Spent a month and a half here recovering from a traumatic injury. Some of the sweetest and absolute most caring people that I’ve ever encountered. I highly recommend this place for anyone. I will be back to visit!!

My parent was moved to MADONNA after nearly dying at Lancaster Manor, due to a lack of care. Within 10 days of being at Madonna, she was in the Emergency Room due to severe malnutrition, kidney failure and severe dehydration! So unacceptable and so easily preventable! Our family had several "powwow's" with the nursing staff (the rehab people are great - it's the nursing staff who are either NOT on the ball or are not getting orders from Dr. Satar, the facility Doctor). Dr. Satar is elusive and rarely available - we had to ask for a consultation just so we could meet with him face-to-face. His physician assistant, Sean, is available on Sunday only. My advice - have weekly family meetings with the head of nursing and nursing staff. We also brought in the woman from Madonna who is in charge of quality control, as they do not want to be sued for lack of care. For proper care to happen, EVERYONE needs to know the care plan and it must be implemented consistently. At times you may feel very frustrated, like you need to know medical procedures in order to protect your loved one. Just keep an open dialogue with the HEAD of nursing. Voice your concerns. Speak up on behalf of your family member!!!

In response to Madonna's reply: concerns have already been discussed with the staff and nothing was done but empty promises

I wouldn’t go there with a dog the aides poor and also most nurses only 2 good managers told about issues to no avail then husband transferred in the middle of night. Also huge ulcer on bottom which will cause months of setback to recovery

I spent about three weeks there after spending around four months in Bryan. I had surgery for Crohn's disease and became septic. This caused me to have a tracheotomy and other issues like having a four inch diameter hole in my stomach wall. Everyone at Madonna was great and I left there able to get around a lot better and had more energy. Like I said, EVERYONE there, were great and I would have no problem recommending Madonna to anyone.

There was a mistake made at St Elizabeth's Hospital which was not discovered until after leaving Madonna against medical advice. There was something very badly wrong with my mother (turns out it was a piece of gallbladder leftover from surgery that was gangrenous and needed removal-- more on that later) she was getting badly dehydrated with black scabs all over her mouth, not improving at all, very weak, and Driewer and the others kept her from proper hydration and food and refused to have her looked at, and in fact they never even did followup bloodwork that they did nearly every day at the Critical Care unit at St E's. My mother was barely cogent, but we decided to take our chances and see if we could get her home, I have some previous nursing experience. Madonna insisted she would die within a week. She made it ten days and then went back into St E's. They repaired what they could, had to put in a special drain for the gallbladder fragment, and she got better as it went. We ended up spending a week at Select Specialty for the rehab portion of the experience. To this day, I hate Madonna. They made my life hell while I was there, were utterly disrespectful and brutal to my mother the entire time, demeaned her and myself. And then, they nearly killed her. I'm not joking here. If I hadn't listened to my mother and trusted my gut that something was badly wrong, she would be DEAD right now. Instead, we have been at home since November, (Madonna wanted us there until January btw) My mom doesn't need a walker and only needs a wheelchair for longer walking distances. She doesn't need a ventilator or any supplementary oxygen. She's not needed the drain for several months, had it removed finally a month or so ago. She's about to have her trach taken out, possibly, as well. To make that clear: She would be dead before Christmas if I'd listened to the tender loving care of Madonna and it's so-called Doctors and Therapists. I will say that the respiratory department were very helpful to me and I appreciate their aid deeply. The rest of the place can go straight to the hell.

My mother was sent there..she could not go without oxygen for more than a few minutes... She was being released on tuesday..she was fine..i went to see her on monday and she was in great spirits..i left at 1 pm.she was going to take a nap...and at 6pm was told to get there asap that she wasnt responding... She was in a coma and died the next day tuesday.. All i can think is that she knocked her oxygen mask off and no one checked on her for hours and she was oxygen deprived and that put her in the coma and killed her.. My father was sent there also and i insisted on staying there this time..i had to leave him everyday for work but when i got back ..he had sat in his wheelchair all day in front of the tv..more than once they lifted him out of bed screaming that it hurt his back and come to find out hed gotten three fractures from them...also he became sick and they insisted he just had a little case of the flu..a week later he was rushed to Bryan hospital with full blown pneumonia.. I saw several elderly going thru the same... Also when a male nurse came in he asked my dad if hed like to be resuscitated and explained to my father..would you like to have yoir ribbs broken ..set in a wheelchair all your life and be a burdon to your family or be let go in peace..i stood up and told the man to leave.. My father called him the angel of death because he tried to get him to say he didnt want to be resuscitated.. Makes me wonder how many eldery people theyve helped cross over who they talked into the do not resuscitate.. They didnot like me there as i constantly caught them messing up.. I was extremely disapointed in his care there...

Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital made a huge difference in the outcome of my son's recovery from a brain injury as a result of a automobile accident. We feel so thankful and grateful for the nurses, therapists and all personnel at Madonna. We thank God everyday that our son had the opportunity to go to Madonna. We were from out of state so it was a big decision for us and we do not regret it. Thank you Madonna for assisting Walter J. "Jake" Robohn in his recovery process from his TBI. You are the "best"!

My 3 year old was transferred here from St Elizabeth burn unit. The staff/ nurses went above and beyond for my little guy. A certain nurse even played with him and played hide and seek and she gave him so much attention. He loved it! The different therapist that helped him was excellent and never pushed him to make him be uncomfortable. A burn nurse even came and showed me how to do wash time for him and she never left until I was completely comfortable with doing it!

The nurses and everybody is so nice here and it is actually where I work and I have been a patient here too

I love you i'm Form Bottrop in germany and you?

I sent my 21 year old son here after a TBI because it was supposed to be the best.....Well it was not, he was left alone in his room all day with bed alarm on. After therapy in the morning, he was put in his room and confined to the bed until the next day when he would have therapy again. He was forced to ride in a wheelchair, when he is capable of walking. Only allowed to shower 2 days a week!!! And at least once a week they were too busy to assist him in the shower and I would have to do on the weekend when I was visiting. Nursing was given an order to walk with him 6 times a day, which was never done!!!!!! I never spoke to a physician the whole time he was here. And when I had him transferred to a different facility, no one ensured that his belongings were all packed up. He left Madonna without some of his clothing, personal hygiene items, and medical equipment. Madonna has failed to contact me back in regards to these belongings. I would NEVER recommend or send my family to this place again. Terrible Nursing Staff. When i would visit on the weekends, he was never checked on, nursing would come in hand him pills and walk out. They were the rudest I have ever encountered. Therapy Staff and Nursing staff also would tell my son that he did not need to be there, I thought they were certified and trained in brain injuries, why would you tell a TBI patient that?

RedChaosify

I was a patient 8 years ago and i have to say, the nurses were honestly the worse. My grandma ended up taking over my care because the nurses kept coming in giving me meds I didnt know what they were or why they were being given, I had also bee touched inappropriately by one of the female nurses. So that was our final straw. They ended up being rude to us and basically shunning us, which is fine they were awful at their job anyway. The therapists I had though were amazing, except one. So I'm very thankful to those girls! I know some have left Madonna since I was last there, which is sad. Kristi is the best PT there and Nicole was the best OT! Besides all the problems we had with madonna (literally filled up a notebook of the problems) I did like the therapists there. If you can find another spinal cord hospital I would suggest going there instead of madonna.

Excellent outcome for the patients but heaven forbid you are not the one with legal responsibility as they have NO compassion for ANY of the family members, not even blood relation as close as a sister or divorced parent and will use hipaa laws as their excuse for not having any empathy. Can't even say the patient is doing great or direct confused family to resources to help the family through their grief, anger etc. So excellent outcome for the patient but poor service of the family (especially as they tout that having family come is very important to the patient's recovery).

Pam Pounds

Overall most the therapist are very kind but have run into a few rude ones and dont feel always LISTENED to when I say a previous seession really caused me to hurt. I'm in a wheelchair and just feel like they want me to go at their speed and I cant so then i dont want to even go and told dr so.
