My 83 year old father was urgently transferred from a smaller hospital two hours away due to a sudden blood clot (they did not have an ultrasound) at midnight. Although they had his room prepared upon arrival.... it took THIRTEEN HOURS for him to receive the ultrasound which was pertinent in determining treatment. Our nurse, whose name I will generously withhold.... blatantly misled us as to why the wait was so unacceptable. At one o’clock on a Monday afternoon she claimed the ‘computers are in downtime.’ The floor hospitalist physically RAN away from me in the hall. I am appalled by this, our first and ONLY experience. Thank God my father did not have a blood clot! They did discharge us within an hour and a half of finally finishing up this ordeal. I sincerely hope that no other family ever has to endure what we have in the past twenty four hours. Heartbreaking.

My wife just had a tumor removed at this facility and we were really pleased with the level of care we received. I felt they went beyond any other hospital we’ve been to and were proactive instead of reactive. Highly recommend

Best hospital and I'm from NJ nurses and doctors everyone nice got my dad in and out

Dr. Daud was AMAZING in the ER last weekend when we came in with our 2 year old daughter that fell and needed stitches. She was so kind and explained all of our options regarding her treatment. We were so happy with her and she and the nurse, Christine, did a wonderful job caring for our daughter. We couldn't have had a better experience!

Forget the cardiology department Go to Mercy!! My husband had an ICD placed today. New computer system. No one knew where to find the results from Barnes-St. Peter's on his most recent cardiology test. Dr. Ratupsomebodiesass kept palpating husbands left upper chest for a port we, REPEATEDLY, told him had been removed 6-8 weeks ago, still tender Hey, if you can't trust your fingertips, what are you doing performing procedures. Got there at 0930, didn't get out until 1800, because Dr. Ratsupsomebodieass was in the next room for 45+ minutes, trying to convince somebody to have ICD placed in L upper chest and the guy didn't want it there. All we needed to leave was for him to glance at CXR in computer to say OK, which he eventually did, after I parked hubby in WC in hallway where he couldn't miss him, as he walked in/out room next door to quote studies at the guy who did NOT want ICD placed in L chest wall. Evening RN was wonderful. Can't say much about day crew!! Don't bother, go to Mercy. Scary! I mean seriously, a port is a hard, fairly immobile object right under the dermis.

Worst experience I have ever had at a hospital er. Never even saw an actual physician. Had a severe back injury and wasn’t even given a bed to lay down on. There was blood on the floor that had not been cleaned up and not one person had any concept of the meaning of bedside manor. Upon discharge went to Mercy where I was treated with kindness and properly diagnosed.

Cyndi Wilkins

Saw a rheumatologist Dr Katherine Temprano here, she was great and her staff was wonderful as well , easy access to I-270 easy parking , would recommend this hospital to anyone in need of a rheumatologist.

Great Hospital

The woman who took me back was the rudest, most unprofessional snarky b***h excuse of a nurse I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I go in there quiet and respectful with soem rather serious symptoms and got berated for being there, wasting time and that hospitals are for emergencys only and other people need them. It was slow and I'm sorry, when I'm having trouble breathing, my heart is going crazy, and other things thats why I go here. I tore my arm bands off and walked out. Anybody that condescending and dismissive without giving someone a chance does not need to be in the medical field. I'm not demanding any sort of special treatment or respect, just common decency. Will not be returning to this "hospital".

Lisa Baumann

Only place I will or would go.

Stacey Griffard

From the ER through the end of my stay after having to have an incarcerated hernia repaired, I was treated like I was their only patient. Every person working in that hospital should be commended on a job very well done!!!!!

Andrea Hughes

I just finished an MRI of my brain with a technician Eric & I must say this was the most relaxing imaging I've ever experienced. Eric explained the procedure, detailing what I could expect & during the test he kept me apprised of what would happen next & the remaining time of each scan. Whatever the outcome of the MRI, today's test was very uplifting!!

Emily Dabberchick

had a painful surgery, given strong meds 24 hours then pretty much tylenol. the nurses were all extremely rude to me, one found me after a fall and shut the dodor and kept going. they have been horrible and made me relive PTSD events, i plan to end my pain the second i leave here. thank you nurse rebecca for making someone so depressed after they had surgery, it was uncalled for an unprofessional. i was here a week and only 3 times was i asked by servives if i wanted food. AVOID rebecca the nurse, she'll make you wanna kill yourself like i plan to. the nurses at missouri baptist have cause me to take the furtger step in ending my life

Kelly Hawkins

Very nice staff, very caring and friendly and helpful. Seen right away. All questions answered. Would have given 5 stars if would have had private room plus there was some older furniture (bedside table didn’t work). Other than that it was fantastic! Hands down miles above DePaul imo!

Nick Johler

My experience was amazing the nurses and doctor were very friendly and funny. the Doctor knew what he was doing and wasn’t in a rush to fix me up. He asked me all the queastions that doctors are suppose too and he gave me all the proper meds for my recovery. I highly recommend this hospital for anyone.

My father was admitted with a pneumonia. I will say ER doctor and nurses were great! The floor doctor and other specialist were not! My father has a history of CDIFF and when starting antibotics he also has to be put on medicine for the CDIFF because it will always come back. The doctors at this hospital chose not to be proactive after I repeatedly asked them to please call his CDIFF doctor for his past history and how they treated it in the past. Needless to say a couople of days after he got home he was back in the hospital very sick with CDIFF, we did not return to MO BAP. This was just one of the issue with the lack of care he received, there are to many to list. I will never take him back to MO BAP ever again!! Very disappointed in the BJC system in regards to the care he received at this hospital.

Bruce Benjamin

Great nurses and staff with both pre and post surgery. Convenient parking and visiting.

I woke up one morning feeling great, took a shower and started to get ready for my busy day ahead. All of the sudden, I felt very ill. My husband and I decided that we should head straight to the emergency room. We wanted to be assured that what I was feeling was not something life threatening. We decided to go to Missouri Baptist and I'm so glad that we did. When you feel sick enough to make the decision to go to a hospital, you are filled with anxiety and worry. I can honestly say that the staff at Missouri Baptist helped eased our fears from the minute we walked into the door. Every one of us has heard horror stories of hour upon hour of waiting to be treated but we walked in the door and didn't even sit down before we were in a room and tests were started. Dr. Gregg was my doctor and he informed me all along the way of what they were going to do and why they were going to do it. He was patient, very kind and made me comfortable. My husband and I felt very reassured that I was getting the very best of care by not only Dr. Gregg but the nurses in the ER as well. As it turned out, i was moved to the cardiac floor for additional testing and an overnight stay. Every single person I encountered from my nurses, doctors, lab technicians, dietary staff to the housekeeping staff was happy, pleasant and honestly seemed like they cared about my well being and "their" hospital. They must treat their employees right there because it truly comes thru how much they care about where they work. I have always thought highly of the care that I know that Missouri Baptist provides but this experience really showed me first hand that i was right. Even though I'd rather not have to make another trip to the ER, if i ever do, it will be Missouri Baptist again.

Delivered both of my daughters at Missouri Baptist Medical Center ! The OB / Labor & Delivery nurses are the best ! I was a "needy" mom - both times were C-Sections and I was in pain so the call button was my close friend the very first night. The nurses were compassionate and understanding. The hospital is pretty big and when it was time for me to get up and get moving I had plenty of places to explore ! The operating room was sterile and cold and clean. And the nursery was bright and fun to see. The hospital made it easy and comfortable for my family to visit.

Ellen Portman

The ICU nurse, Erin, should be commended for being, in my not humble opinion, an example of truly knowledgeable, capable, intelligent nursing - far superior to whomever the man supposedly in charge. My experience with Erin was not a recent one and I am remiss in posting this accolade. Forgive me.

L T

Erin in nuclear medicine took care of my mother today. She is very thoughtful, attentive and caring which can be hard to find now. Thank you so much, Erin!

Pattie Burns

Best place hands down to have a babies. Both of my birth experiences here were amazing. Incredibly patient and caring staff, good food from cafe!

CayyCashh

I had my baby there july2018 i wouldn’t have another baby there, i felt like some of the nurses where judging because of certain beliefs i had a birth plan that they did not follow AT ALL. My epidural was done wrong and when i complained i was told basically that i was over reacting, and the worst they violated the HIPAA law. Never again

Roy Migneco

My husband had open heart surgery, and received the best care. So grateful for the Doctors and Nurses in the Cardiac Surgery Unit. I can never thank you enough. My husband leads a happy, healthy life thanks to you.

Kaitlyn Palmer

Would give no stars honestly. Have a back injury, happened almost 7 days ago and still can barely walk around for more than a few minutes without crippling pain. Sent 3 doctors in because they didn’t realize I was already being seen by another. The second doctor that came in seemed like he actually knew what was going on and we had a plan worked out, then another doctor walked in and said he was “already treating me” which was an overstatement. Sent me home with a few muscle relaxers that I had already taken and were not helping, and told me to take ibuprofen after I already informed them I was told not to by my Gastrointerologist. Will never return after this experience, and my last experience where I was sent home with a fractured knee and told it was a sprain. Horrible care, nurses gossiping about people in hallways (literally complaining about other patients asking for medication). I’m a medical assistant, and I will never come back, and will make sure everyone I know won’t either.

Ryan Starks

I was there last week for a shoulder injury,I pre registered online too try and save time.I have hurt my shoulder before but never had an mri since I didn't have insurance.I checked in at 10 am and left at 5 pm, so 7 hours was a little excessive it wouldn't have been too bad,but I had my 5 ur old son with me.I had an x ray,cat Scan, and an mri done from the er.overall they address er my pain and got the job done. 4 stars since it took 7 hours!

Mary Bittner

I felt more like an object rather than a person. Never a smile. Never a "Good Morning". No eye contact. Went straight to the computer in my room without even glancing in my direction. Nurses did not make their "rounds". Only time I saw one was when they came in to yell at me for going into the bathroom and setting off an alarm.. Pneumonia caused a lot of coughing. I wet the bed once. Didn't want to do it twice. If they had made their rounds I could have emptied my bladder at those times. The gentleman in rehab was a "Winner". All others...."Loosers".

Bobbie Jensen

Fantastic staff! Helpful, caring, informative, enthusiastic... I can't say enough positive things about the 5th floor ICU team!

Richard Berner

Just came home from the Cardiac PCU and I had the Greatest care and Wonderful Nurses. They are truly the best. Richard A. Berner Sr.

Mike lin شروگي ابن مطشر

Most of the staff are very lazy and if you need something you have to ask 5 times

Joel Manesberg

Excellent Hospital and Medical Facility the staff here is amazing I know we are in great hands and care when we are here Absolutely the Best

Edward Holtz

Great place to be treated for cancer and die at... Im mean that in a nice way

corey h

Had the best Dr and nurses. Came from out of state for heart surgery and was very well taken care of. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Rachel West

I was visiting St. Louis from Chicago and became very ill and was brought here by ambulance. The staff from the minute I entered the door was so attentive and help me get me not feel so scared I was sick in a new city by myself. I was admitted to the 6th floor were I received the same amount of excellent care and support. I really enjoyed the care of the nurses and doctors.

Gregory Gebhart

I went by ambulence tohe ER at MoBap. There they replaced the IV started in the ambulence. After the doctor got lab and XRay results, he decided to admit me. I was in ER only 1.5 hours. I had kidney dialysis twice while at MoBap. I was better in 3 days and released.

Megan Maierhoffer

Just had our first baby here and it was such a great experience. Every single person on staff we can in contact with was so caring and helped us so much, especially the nurses. They provide free services for after the baby is born as well so by using MoBap, you’ll never feel alone.

Mona Bahl

Poor customer service. Agree with others; Mercy is practically next door and is much better.

Terry Raw

There emergency room is one of the best. When I was there it took me about 20 minutes too get in. At other places it took me 3 hours at St.Johns and 10 hours at Barns to get a room.

Joanne Richardson

Had Lung Surgery on 5-28-19, The Nurses and Techs at the PCU were the best!!! I have stayed at other Hospitals, The care I received at MO Bap was amazing:) I want to Thank all of the staff at the Hospital!! You all made me feel like I mattered❤

shonta Brown

They are excellent every time my family member comes here.

C M

Horrible place treat their patience horribly. Wouldn't go here if you were dying.

Susan Rightnowar

When the nurses have to admit a new patient they neglect all their other patients for long periods of times. I was in a lot of pain and they ignored my care and administration of pain meds for hours at at time.

Lanie Thompson

Best state of the art hospital that I have ever been to. When I had my medical emergency over Labor Day weekend, they were attentive right away because they knew that I had one of the top pediatricians in the pediatric wing so that was also helpful. Thank you Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

Mary Pryor

Went for my first mammogram and everyone was so great! Friendly staff, very professional, efficient and they took time to explain things. Loved the cute pink robes in the mammography department. Thanks. :)

Wanda Hardin

Wonderfull iv been there for lung surgery and was well taken care of will go back very personal compared to my stay at mercy also have been to er got me as soon as possible

Charnese Anderson

I rushed my husband to the emergency room, because he had a 101 temperature and signs of the flu. We arrived at 10:30 pm. The waiting room had a few people, not packed, so we assumed he would be seen within the next hour or two. The nurse finally called us back at 3:05 am, advised the doctor will be arriving within the next hour. Doctor arrives at 7:30, he apologized about the delay. He stated there was some confusion, because the previous nurse advised the morning Doctor we had been seen. Not to mention, the room was -0. If you have an emergency, please save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I wish they had the options of -1 stars.

Tracy K

Delivery & labor nurses were rude. I walked through hallway from waiting room just to see if there was an update & they ran over within 5 seconds & to tell me I couldn't be in hallway.. I wasnt "hanging out" I just walked by to check. If that's how it is, they need to have entire hallway blocked off. Overall disappointed at the service/ attitude. When I had baby there 4 yrs ago, it was amazing.. Had the best nurses and my family actually waited outside the room. Not sure what the deal was this time.

Tess Rogers

I had a wonderful doctor while here, and I LOVED MoBap. Hands down favorite hospital, with the best people. But I won't ever go here again. In fact, at this point I won't be able to afford to go to any hospital for a while. I changed insurance, and when I called my doctors office to see if I was stuff covered under Anthem Blue Preferred I was told yes and that I'd just have my usual co-pay. This was in July. Come October I was billed a HUGE amount for a very short doctors visit I had when I got sick, and told they were not in fact in-network despite what I'd been told. Called again this morning to cancel an appointment I'd made long ago and on a whim asked again if I'd be covered under my insurance. They said yes. When I replied with that's what you told me last time and here I sit with a bill that is more than I pay in a year for health insurance she checked again and oh look! Blue Preferred is one of two Anthem plans they aren't actually covered under. And they can do nothing about that billing. And neither will my insurance company even though I've appealed it because I was basically just lied to twice. So if you're going to make an appoint PUSH THEM on just how covered you actually are under your insurance. It seems they either aren't entirely honest, or don't ever properly check your degree of coverage before booking you through. They've simply lost all my trust.

Mark Cleveland

Been here before and was good. If they get busy in ER, don’t be surprised to wait a few hours

J Z

Spent 7 hours in the ER before seeing a physician for my elderly Mother. Thorougly understand triage BUT absolutely no updates, timelines NOTHING provided - including food. Most of the staff were extremely rude, impatient and unprofessional. However, thankfully, two nurses were very kind and obviously also very frustrated regarding the rudeness and unprofessionalism that we repeatedly encountered. MBMC MUST revisit Service Excellence, retrain, re-staff and change staffing levels! Until they do, if we are in need of ER services we will utilize St. Luke's.

Rachael Roemer

We had our first born at Missouri Baptist. The nurses are out standing. They made us feel right at home and answered all or any questions we had. Being a first time mom was scary and with the staff we had it made me feel more comfortable and less scared. And if I asked for something they made sure we had it or it was on it's way. Loved that they helped me also be more comfortable when I was having contractions and my epidural was not working like it should. They made sure to call the doctor and have them fix it so I wasn't in pain. They worked super fast on that for me. The nurses helped me out even more after we had our little one. Still making sure I was okay and made sure I didn't need anything. We will for sure be going back when we have our second child. Thank you MoBap staff for everything we enjoyed our stay and everything you all did.

Joseph Holst

Had most of my kids here. We love this hospital. The doctors, nurses, and other staff have always been great.

travis bowman

Worst place to take pregnant women to. They made my fiance wait in pain. Then when it come to her being seen they did no tests whatsoever. They jammed there fingers inside her being very disrespectful about it. Took her to st Anthony's and they ran many tests. Os she was dehydrated and has a bladder infection.. i will never use yiur hospital again...

Emily gauthier

Was good at first. Then listened to a nurse and doctor argue about my rights as a patient right outside my room with a curtain therefore hearing it all. They gave me a shot of dilaudid and I couldn't believe a hospital actually helped with the level of my pain......then they perscribed me 5 mg Percocet for the pain for the next 5 days till I see my surgeon. Dilaudid then Percocet? Makes zero sense. I am in pain again already and will be having to visit another hospital tomorrow considering I have a dying bone I need surgery on, the pain will not go away. And 5mg Percocet? I'll overdose on Tylenol if I take the amount I need to help

Liz Fons

Husband was in for heart surgery. Staff was friendly and helpful, explained all procedures in a way which was both at a layman's level yet precise. They explained the procedures and then helped us to understand everything that was happening as well as defining unfamiliar terms to us. Strict visitation policy which is well enforced in a very gently way. Made a very stressful time a little more endurable! On another note, the cafeteria has a wide variety of freshly prepared (as in while you watch) items which apparently change on a daily basis as well as some pre-prepared food if you are in a hurry to get back to your waiting area or to see your loved one. Food was very good. And I liked how the staff and the patients' visitors shared the same space. Made me feel as though we were being treated as a family! And, finally, parking and figuring out the hospital was easier than any I have ever been to! So kudos to the designers/administrators/medical staff and support staff of Missouri Baptist (or MoBap as I have heard it referred to!)

R GRANGRAN1935

Whatever your medical needs are, I highly recommend that you go to MoBap Hospital and believe me, you will not be disappointed. This hospital staff will not let you go until they find out what your illness is and gives you the best care possible. 10**********

THE WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE ANYONE COULD GO THROUGH. I ended up there due to severe anxiety attacks, which initially caused the tips of my fingers and toes to start tingling and eventually go almost completely numb. It spread within a week throughout both hands and from my feet all the way up my legs. It was extremely hard to walk. Very scary, considering I’m 29 and never have had any medical issues/poor health. Firstly, they tried to take me off some of my medications, which I had been on for 8 years and start me on something new that would take 4 to 6 weeks to even be able to see a difference??? The second morning I had 3 security guards rush into my room and accuse me of snorting pills and huffing!!! I was so insulted and totally flew off the handle. So then I was labeled as being crazy. Not to mention the security guard went right into my purse and started looking through it. The following day the nurse gave me my medications in the a.m.. I then poured the cup of pills she gave me into my hand and asked her to identify each pill. MY NURSE COULD NOT DO THIS!! I was in shock and not to mention scared at that point! Also two of the doctors that came into see me didn’t even introduce themselves, very professional. I know your busy guys but COME ON! Lastly, all they kept talking about was my mental health?!? I’ve been seeking professional help for eight years now(as I said earlier) regarding my mental health and have been re-evaluated every 6 months. THE LAST GD thing I needed were doctors just coming up with these random diagnosis out of nowhere and totally ignore the fact that I couldn’t walk! Really, really nice place.

Jasmine Smallwood

This was my first time being hospitalized over night and I had a beautiful experience. This was my first child and I was hospitalized for 5 days after having a c-section. Every single nurse was amazing and very nice and caring. I appreciated everyone there and would not want to have my baby anywhere else. Thank you so much Labor and Delivery for the wonderful experience. I would recommend this hospital to everyone.

John Bailey

Wife and I stayed two weeks here while delivering our son prematurely. Nurses were professional, kind and highly trained. Would nominate all of them for the Daisy award. Doctors also work at Children’s Hospital and are the best in their field. They saved my wife’s and new born son’s life. Forever Grateful.

Andy K

More clean and surgery procedures are way above par.

Bailey Conte

Best birthing experience anyone could ask for! Great staff and doctors!

Istvan J. Ladanyi

Hospitals are Hospitals. . Depends on why you are there.. But generally the place is inviting .. clean ...professional. . And the Staff are very helpful and understanding.. Level of professionalism is high.. Never felt that I was not important or that I was an "inconvenience ' as one would feel on some service industries... My needs were attended to... and most importantly the staff were awesome.. made me feel I was in good hands.. and attended to my needs..

Dianne Michels

Best hospital experience I have ever had. From the time I walked into the ER, having had unexpected surgery, to leaving three days later, I do not have a negative comment about anything. Everyone was very professional and caring. I highly recommend MoBap!!

susan schmidt

MO Bap always takes walk in appointments, until today! After spending 20 minutes parking then getting to the 6 th floor, I signed in and was called to tgt desk. The receptionist decided they were to busy to take my business. I will get my mammogram somewhere else.

April Maefield

I've been in on a really uncomfortable visit and In a lot of pain. They have some of the most amazing nurses here : Paris G, Nikki W and Melissa L were by far 3 of the most accommodating and compassionate nurses I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, so thank you ladies for everything, you truly are a blessing!!

j kick

3 hour wait in ER waiting room without explanation was brutal. Poor man across from me waited same amount of time and was vomiting periodically in a basin and not once did anyone come out to check on him. Obvious that more staff is needed.

Lesley Murphy

Slow night in ER. I've been here 4 hours and have had a CT scan. The IV hurts worse than any I've ever had and they are ignoring my requests to take it out. Have been offered zero pain relief for suspected broken ribs and left stuck in gurney even after telling them I'd prefer to stand because of rib pain. No one responds to nurse callbutton. Worst ER ever.

Air Excellence

Jen shook in physical therapy did an excellent job very talented young person. If you need physical therapy ask her or Alan

Deena Reece

You will get no better nursing care than Mobap. No question about it. Go stay at another hospital I can promise you if you do, your next hospital stay will be at Missouri Baptist. Thank you for the care you have given my family!!! Mobap nurses rock

Ben Taylor

Nothing but legal theft. They show you one amount that you will have to pay before you agree to the terms, then a month later they send you three bills.

Dolan Dye

Attentive Staff, on time schedule, accommodations clean and accessible. Highly skilled staff.

David Schraer

Missouri Baptist Medical Center provided my mother with excellent care in the last few weeks of her life. The personnel and facilities were outstanding.

Emily Gauthier

Also don't come here they will make you ate 2 hours for nothing

Ashley B

I had an outpatient surgery and everyone was courteous and professional.

Melinda Perry

They were very caring, patient and understanding of a very large family as we said "see you on the other side" to a loved one who had a massive stroke. They worked diligently to save him and seemed as devastated as us by such a tragedy. He was one of the good ones and too young. See the later rich! Love you much

drhodeman1697

This hospital seems grossly understaffed. In the waiting room for 4hrs. In the er room for 2 hrs before doctor even showed his face. Wife had to sit in pain for over. Asked the nurse, said it would be a minute. 45 min later asked again said doctor was on his way. I hate this hospital.

Jennifer Crossen

Always my family's first choice for medical care

Sa’Rina Toler

My son had a cut on his eye and needed immediately attention, the nurse and receptionist attend to him quick and got him the meds he need. Best hospital in Missouri ❤️

jmm19820

This hospital is great. The staff is always courteous and friendly.

lisa blaylock

I am still in a fog as my mother passed away in this hospital. Was admitted, released, admitted a few days later and was very ill. The 6th floor was so understaffed and no one seemed to know how to handle any medical conditions. My mother got bed sores due to not being moved every two hours, only one person knew how to unclog a feeding tube, no one gave a 100 percent effort on anything. I can count on one hand how many knowledgeable nurses she had. Nurse Supervisor said she was appalled of the care my mom was receiving but those were just words. When she left room noticed moon boots were not on. You have to have those on for your bed sores. Our complaints went no where. Actions speak louder then words. I am so sad that my mother’s final days were spent like this. She always thanked everyone and never complained. I will say the nurses aides were very kind and did what they could. She was then moved to the hospice floor and that was a night and day difference. Very kind, attentive nurses. I hope the hospital realizes nurses need more training and to properly staff each floor. I was amazed at the lack of knowledge. In fairness to the nurses, I blame the hospital for their lack of training. The seasoned nurses were wonderful but only had them a day or two. I am writing this out of concern for your loved ones. I hope no one has to go thru this. Always ask questions and don’t be afraid to be loud about care.

Barbara Behrens

Expect to wait 15 minutes to have your call answered, and then he will be transferred to an answering machine. Their excuse – they’re understaffed.

Sandra Hutson

Felt as an RN worker with Missouri Baptist I will never work in a facility that treats their employees like they can be replaced. Sad to say I felt that way in the 1980s as an employee then as well. Management I felt did not support the nurses then in the 1980s and now in 2018. I pulled myself from their doctors and changed to Mercy. Pls read reviews before selecting to work at Missouri Baptist Medical center or choosing your medical doctor.

Kelly Giesler

I had a little Cyst removed from my upper back (Shoulder) and during the registration, the day of, I was told my out of pocket would be $700. I let the lady know, at registration, I was NOT paying that for this procedure. This could be done in my doctors office, I was awake during the removal so no anesthesia was used (why it was done in main hospital, I still don’t understand) so I started to leave, she asked her manager to take a look at my case and I was told by the mgr. that the people upstairs have been coding cases wrong for days now and she was going to take care of this personally. She said that I could mark her words this will be dealt with correctly and that she knew where and who to call for this issue... I should have known better, the last thing I wanted to do was argue with the hospital about a crazy bill for YEARS!!!! 45 days later I received a bill for $ 700…. I am appealing it NOW….never saw that coming, did ya?....and when I am done with the appeal I am dropping this place like a freakin hot potato….My doctors are rude and don’t know the side effect to drugs they are passing out. My rheumatologist called me a liar when I claimed side effect were happening. The bedside manner of most doctor here are only for the skinny people….LOL…I heard that before about MOBAP doctors, but ya know surely it not true. Right? ….WRONG …so true…..save yourself time and just go to Mercy, right up the street.

Kathy Schmidt

terrible hospital, the food service is beyond bad, half the time I recieved no food or the wrong order, nurses told me this hospital is notorious for this. nursing care was just average, had to wait a long time for pain meds or other requests. some nurses seemed to hate their jobs,,hospital hasnt been updated since the 1960s. no showers in rooms, have to use the communal shower down the hall which is the size of a small closet. I have always in the past gone to St. Lukes which is like a 5 star hotel compared to this. I will never come back here ever, I suggest you dont either if you have any choice at all.

johnnyflstc

My wife and I have been dealing with Missouri Baptist since approximately October 2018, since we found out that she was pregnant. Her doctor has been amazing, throughout the whole process, but that’s not the issue. Their billing department has cornered my wife 3 times now while she’s been there for different doctor’s appointments, leaving her in tears after each visit. Their billing staff talks down to her, insults her, and demeans her with literally almost every breath. Today was the last straw. We switched insurance 3 times due to a change of employment for me because we went from coverage with one employer, to COBRA continuation coverage, to coverage with my new employer. This is not something we could avoid, and we explained it from the very beginning. Since the very first visit with their billing department she has felt uncomfortable even walking into their office, knowing that if something came up, they would be rude and aggressive in whatever attempts they made to “get their money.” We were told everything was being billed as a “global fee” and we made all the payments we were supposed to and were paid in full. Then after zero further correspondence today my wife at her appointment, again get’s ambushed and cornered by their aggressive billing staff. I was on the phone with her listening to Ann speaking to my wife like she was some kind of degenerate, being extremely pushy and aggressive while she was in the examination room with our 3 month old baby while he was crying, sitting in his own feces, because she had been cornered so long, she wasn’t even able to change his diaper. After them shoving a new invoice in her face, stating that we owe an additional $1800, and telling us they’ll give us 3 months to pay it, after having no notice prior to the appointment, knowing full well that we just paid almost $3,000 for COBRA coverage, paying the rest of the doctors bills over the past 12 months, all while going from a 2 income family to a 1 income family. After I told her what we could afford to pay per month, she scoffed stating, “um that will take over a year to pay off.” And I (being on speakerphone) explained multiple times, that that is what we can afford to pay at this time. They returned with the paperwork for my wife to sign, again while making comments under her breath about the period of time it would take for us to pay the due amount. My wife now, regardless of how much she loves her doctor, feels so uncomfortable even walking in that building that she won’t be going back. We will be switching to another doctor just 3 months after she gave birth because the billing staff at Missouri Baptist lack people skills and any tact whatsoever while dealing with people who have just gone through the biggest change, emotionally and financially of their lives. We will never return to this hospital, for any reason, ever, because of 2 or 3 people. I already filed one formal complaint and was told we would no longer have to deal with Cathy again, even though Cathy came into the office multiple times today while my wife was already stressed and uncomfortable, just to put in her two cents.

My wife was recently diagnosed with cancer. After receiving care for many months from countless staff and departments we can honestly we have not had a bad experience as far as the care we’ve received goes. (They can’t stop having cancer from “sucking” after all!) The staff have gone out of their way to be accommodating & compassionate... all while we’ve been receiving the best of care. Of all the options we’ve had, we are so glad we chose Missouri Baptist for our travel through this horrible life event.

Plays Fox News in the lobby. For a medical establishment, this shows a lack of intelligence and critical thinking skills, which are crucial in medicine. Who can trust a medical facility that plays such unintelligible, unfounded television?

My primary doctor treats well and relatively fast

Marty Buchheit

6 hours and no results. Horrible experience

Great place to work!

I had one of the best nurses!!! There were a couple of snobby nurses though and the techs we're terrible... They acted like they had something better to do than help me... Loved barb though!!

I have been to this ER quite a few times over the years. For my infant son the care was amazing when he needed to be admitted to observation. However, for myself the care was less than ideal, and at times has been horrible. A nurse pushed my IV medication too fast which caused an adverse reaction and then she told me that I was FAKING my reaction. I am a nurse myself and feel like I was ignored because of this. The nurses all act extremely self-important, and will not listen when you talk to them.

Wife's breakfast never showed up. The nurses called the cafeteria SEVEN times

I gave birth to my firstborn at MOBAP in August and my entire stay was beyond what I had expected. Every nurse that I encountered was incredibly helpful and did a great job to calm my nerves and help guide me through the scary world of motherhood. After we left I received a follow up call from a nurse to check on both me and the baby. They also have breastfeeding support and new mom support groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays which are a great resource and excuse to get out of the house. I would highly recommend MOBAP as a hospital to give birth at.

Rivals the Mayo in excellence! Had lung surgery and was totally blown away by the professionalism and happiness factor of the employee's. I have been seeing too many hospitals and was discouraged by experiences at St. Luke's Chesterfield, my old hospital. I am so very happy with my new and caring Missouri Baptist Hospital! I've noticed that hospital workers who are being treated well give off a sense of concern and I was treated so very well throughout my experiences during my surgery and recovery! Left with a kindness glow!

I came in because my water had broken and I was having contractions that were pretty close together. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes before I was actually taken to a room (and wasn’t offered a wheelchair). After having my baby, I felt like they either didn’t care or were very secretive about what was going on with my child. No one wanted to tell us what his bilirubin numbers were, although they kept taking him to test him. Some nurses said his chart (which I never got to see. How is my child’s information so confidential that even his mother can’t see it?) said he was low risk and was confused as to why they gave him phototherapy. My remote to my bed was broken, so I couldn’t call the nurse or watch tv. I told every nurse that came in, no one cared. I was told that I could not use the bathroom or shower alone without a nurse the first 24 hours; however a nurse never came to assist me, so I went on my own anyway. They were upset because my baby would spit up, while he was doing phototherapy, and we would ask for another biliblanket, so that his head wouldn’t be laying in it. They were very annoyed, although we were the ones actually changing the blanket. One nurse had him lay on top of the blanket, but the nurse from the next shift said it was wrong and that he should actually be inside of it. The nurse, whom I’m assuming was checking his Moro reflexes, was picking him up by the hands and then letting him go and letting his head hit the pad. I’m no doctor, but that bothered me. The nurses were really nonchalant and uncaring. The nurse who was there during my delivery and the woman who gave me my epidural were amazing. Everything else was awful. Not to mention that my son’s pediatrician requested my son’s bed chart to further monitor his bilirubin levels and they acted like it was the worst request ever and that it would be too much paperwork. They never sent the chart or, at least, told us his levels before we left. At his one month visit, they still hadn’t sent his newborn screening information. I will never deliver here again. Very terrible experience. When I had my first child here, it was amazing. I don’t know what changed that has caused this place to be so terrible. They did follow up afterwards, but I could not accurately complete the phone interview because my baby was fussy.

Mom had surgery on the 6th of november and left 2 weeks later. Left with no antibiotics of any kind and was given a wound vac that had trouble sealing. Was told by nurses of the wound vac had sealing issues go to the ER. We went and they didnt know what to do. What the hell do they even go to medical school for if they cant properly make a seal for a wound vac . This place has gone down hill

This hospital is a band aid factory they are nothing but a joke. One thing they one of their registration people accused my sister of only coming to the ER for pain meds. They are also the reason why my mom had to have her foot reconstructed and the reason why she had to go to rehab to gain strength in her legs and that was the place where she passed. And now my dad is her 3 days after my mom passed my dad comes her cause he is sick and they were rude all because me my sister and my aunt wanted to go back there with him they said that one person had to stay in the waiting room plus they are having security come in my dad's room continuing to ask of there is only two people in here this is a joke I am embarrassed to have been born in this hospital.

Mo Bap., has always taken such great care of me and my family. Mo Bap., is by far the best hospital in the Midwest.

Vicki Feucht

Very kind and friendly staff!

Hard to believe a Baptist hospital hires the top Planned Parenthood abortionist "Doctor" in the state. Remember the physicians Hippocratic oath: "Do no harm". Guess it is now the hippocritic oath. Dear Baptists: it's hard to BAPTIZE if you're killing them in the womb.

Denise Taylor

AWESOME STAFF AND GREAT SERVICE!

I was sent to the emergency room from an urgent care due to a concerning CT scan from neck pain & swelling. The doctor couldn't open the scan so she wrote me a prescription & sent me on my way. Turned out I had two large tumors in my neck & the laziness of the ER doctor delayed my treatment & cost me $1300 for a total of 2 minutes with a doctor who could have cared less. If you care about yourself or a loved one do not bring them to Missouri Baptist Emergency room.

Ann Schwarz

Staff is very helpful and willing to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Melissa Estrella

I had the best birthing experience imaginable. My Obgyn was fantastic, the RN's were all so attentive, food tasted great.etc I couldn't have been more comfortable about the labor, delivery and stay. Thank you to everyone who made this such a positive experience for my family and I.

Kevin Carroll

Great Hospital and Staff.

Jeff Rust

very professional & attentive. top notch.

Anita White

Emergency room experience was great. My 2nd day in went horrible. Because they wanted to put the patients in close proximity, I was move into a room with an extremely ill woman. There was no shower in the room I was moved to. The basin was outside of the bathroom and covered with the other patient's medical stuff. I do not, if at all possible, recommend Missouri Baptist. The other person kept coughing and bringing phelm. Her tissues were all over the floor, and no house keeping was done.

My husband's Lung Dr is at Missouri Baptist Hospital He went in the hospital last Friday Wonderful Doctor's & staff The NURSE'S are amazing & i appreciate everything they do for my husband

Barry Hufstedler

Drs , nurses and staff are excellent! Even the food was good (excellent by hospital standards).Unfortunately they seem to work in an industry where they spend more time repeating each other’s Work and filling out forms in triplicate that it takes forever to get what seems like a relatively simple question answered clearly and accurately ( how much will it cost for a gallbladder removal as an outpatient and how long will it take). Very disappointed with the system..Very impressed with staff and service otherwise.

Charlotte Stauffer

I just want you to know what great care I got at mobap. I was in accute care waiting for a pacemaker, and I couldn't have had better nurses and Dr's My nurses Kelly, Tim, Joanna and Claire were excellent! They couldn't have have been better! Dr. Anstey and Dr. Ramaswammy were just wonderful and got me fixed up right away and home. Gina a tech was so helpful also. Im sure I left someone out that I should have mentioned, but I was treated with respect and cared for in a very loving way by everyone at mobap, and I'm so grateful for all the nurses, techs and Dr's that took care of me!

Mark Baehmann

Came in with doctors orders and the hospital had us wait over 4 hours and we had nothing done yet. Came in for concern of stoke and were not cared for at all. They were more concerned about a chest X-ray that was protocol than what our doctor ordered. Called for nurse and had a no show. Terrible. What happened to this hospital? It use to be our number one choice. Fail! Thank

Orlando Schmidt

Really fast! The doctors were nice, efficient, & helpful. I booked my appointment online & didn't have to wait very long at all! There were able to find out what was wrong right away & gave me medicine right at that location. The only downside was a higher co-pay, but that is to be expected with urgent care.

I brought my mother to MoBap ER. She was admitted into the hospital from the ER. The ER wasn’t so bad, but the care in the hospital was horrifying. Unfortunately I have been in several hospitals, and while they’re not always great, this is the first time I felt like it was TOTALLY necessary to write a review. While I won’t go into details to respect my family’s privacy, I will just say I could not leave my mother there alone without fear that she would die from lack of care and attention. She ended up far sicker from negligence there than how she was when she went in. She was released with no improvement and additional pain due to poor treatment.

Jack Forster

Social services at this hospital were rude and lied about what I said to them for future care of my mom. Always thought very highly of them before this last incident. Be careful when you deal with the case workers and social services at Missouri Baptist Hospital.

Debby Feiner

Worst experience of my life.Didn't take my insurance cards for several days then when bill, my additional coverage was omitted.Rooms run down and not cleaned.Nursing staff learning computer program during shift time therefore neglecting nursing duties.Arrogant doctors, rude nurses.Never, never again!!!!!!
