On 6/17/18 at around 5 p m we had an ER visit by ambulance. ER doctor was great, Dr Brown. He went off the duty and a Kenneth Henkes, physicians assistant Took over. He seemed very unconcerned about my child and dismissive. He answers questions, but did not follow through with what the doctor said. After being unable to get her breath, requiring oxygen continuously and being terrified, my child felt he just wanted to get her out of the ER. Nurses were wonderful.
All the staff and Dr's that took care of my brother were courteous and professionals.
You could say I would give a 1 Star for any Hospital or Medical Clinic in America. We have one of the worst Health Care Systems in the World. The American system is nothing but about Money and Profit. Same goes for Mississippi. Something must change. That change being that we need a Christian Health Care System. It should be Free? I know that sounds wild. However does Jesus Christ charge for Healing. No. Anybody would know that by reading the Bible. Those in the Medical Field should really look at the Bible. You can learn a bunch especially about Helping People. It's time the Medical System stops making Billions of Dollars a Year. It's time for a Christian Health Care System that's Free and helps everybody in the World! #Vote Deo Vindice !
The nursing staff was fine, but the billing department is the absolute worst! Completely unprofessional, do not file claims in a timely manner...who are we kidding? They don’t file claims at all, even when given all of the information before the surgery even began and not even after several phone calls. I was assured that they had filed with our insurance, only to call the insurance company and find out that they still had no record of it after four months and several reassurances from the hospital that it had been filed and was processing. They lost any record of our deposit they required the day of the surgery (after the check had cleared our bank account, of course) and sent me to every possible billing department within their system, only to work with a guy for an entire week and find out he wasn’t the right representative nor was it the right outsourced billing company. We finally did find it after me calling everyday for 10 DAYS! After all of that, they still have the audacity to ask for us to make a payment on a bill filed as self-pay, even after explaining that they had made a huge mistake. I would not recommend this place to anyone. THE WORST!
My brother was in the hospital there for 3 months took very good care of him The nurses was great
My husband was on the 6th floor and the housekeeping and the aides that set with him were lazy
My mom had a stroke 01/06/2019,Dr.Lawson has been an extraordinary neurologist through our entire stay, also a few good nurses, they are the reason for the one star I did give.the case managers are awful from 5th floor and all the ones on the third floor,so do not even try to ask for any assistance from them with anything dealing with their job description they can't help, you let them tell it, no matter the situation of your loved one ,all they are interested in is getting you out of the hospital and if it's an elderly person nursing home. they will even threaten you with you having to pay for the bill if your loved one continue to stay, they are all about money not your health. During the whole time we were there they had over 20 code blues and 3 code red this hospital has gotten terrible over the last 3 years I feel sorry for the few and I do mean few good nurses cna's and dr's they have. in my experience this stay, more people left in body bags due to neglect and headed to nursing homes due to lack of caring because they are not even willing to do their jobs, it's not due to racial I do not believe in what I experienced it's due to lack of caring, because after talking to other family members of different races they experienced either some of the same or worse.but if you just have to go to this hospital please DO NOT, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVE ONE THERE ALONE.
Er service is awful at times
This hospital is horrible. The nurses are lost don't know what their doing. Gave me frozen blood rehab was horrible just mean people.
my husband had a bone marrow biopsy today at NMMC Tupelo.I just want to brag on everyone that helped. Everyone was great, especially the young black man,[I believe his last name was washington. he was from Wren,ms.]He brought my husband out in a wheel chair. He is a great Ambassador for the hospital. While we waited for my Son to bring the car around,Mr. Washington could not stop bragging on NMMC.It says a lot for a hospital, when its workers love it.Thank you for great service
Worst hospital ever! Very uneducated staff, Dr.'s never know whats wrong with their patients, horrible communication with the patients and family members. Most of the staff have NO bedside manners either! I wouldn't take a dying lizard here to be treated!
Worst hospital in North Mississippi. If you don't have insurance due to the failed ACA and you're very sick, skip this one because they won't do tests. They only took urine, no blood, when my wife had sepsis, pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, and infection of blood stream. She was told by the next hospital she went to that she wasn't going to make it, but they actually saved her. NMMC is horrible. Money > human lives. And that's sad.
My husband came for outpatient surgery at 11am for a kidney stone.... Its 5:37 pm and they still haven't took him to surgery this is pitiful plus no one barely came in here to check on this is stupid
I'm writing this review to warn those who have loved ones that are staying in the Critical Care Unit. Some of the nurses in the CCU have no regard or respect for the patients or for the family. I was an emotional support person for my mom's stay in the CCU; she had been in the CCU for 2-3 weeks and I was with her majority of the time while she was in the room. Do NOT leave your loved ones alone with these people. There needs to be someone there to make sure these people do their jobs, because they won't otherwise. I became an advocate for my mom so I was always communicating with her doctors and nurses to make sure she gets the care she deserved. Some nurses won't like that; the charge nurse actually told me it makes it harder for them. There was a nurse my mom had the night of August 25 that wanted to kick me out of the room because she believed I refused to wear the protective gown and gloves. There were many nurses, techs, and even doctors who would enter the room without wearing gowns or gloves and she would never require them to wear it before coming into the room. My mom was gravely ill, yet this nurse wanted to kick me out of the room for something most of my mom's care team were doing too. The charge nurse that night told this nurse that I had called the care line before (which I didn't) and I believe that is the only reason why I wasn't kicked out of the room. Unprofessionalism, sub-standard care, lack of empathy and respect is what you will receive at this hospital in the CCU. Please be advised to be with your loved one at all times to make sure they get the care they need. I will say there were a few nurses that were so helpful and amazing; and that is the one star that I'm giving NMMC.
My husband went into the ER here on a Friday night. His aneurism on his aorta was fixed on Saturday. Dr. Partan, Dr. Phillips, and Dr. Kellum were all extremely nice. They took time to explain things to me, and answered all my questions, and addressed my concerns. Nurses were all attentive and caring. Even the house keeping people were friendly.
I was so angry at this place for the better part of 2 1/2 months that we were here. Only towards the end and being discharged to an Extended Care Facility in Memphis, did i come to realize how good we had it here, they saved my dads life 3 times and still recovering to this day to the amazement of his Dr's. The nurses in the ICU are the best ive seen too.
Great food great service professional
This hospital sucks. I got into an accident and received the worst care of my life. They didn't tell me anything about at home care, they prescribed me enough meds for like 3 days for 3 broken bones. Staff was mean and uninformative. I never want to go back again.
Our nurses and CNA on second floor were absolutely amazing! Couldnt ask for better! Thank you all for your care during our 3 day stay.
Outpatient services were so great - friendly - very helpful - very thorough and taking care of us. Highly recommend.
The doctors there to me seem to not know what they are talking about. I asked what could be causing my health problem and I get an I don't know from the doctors. It is the worst hospitals I have been to
The staff was very attentive to my 2yr old daughter. They took time to fully answer questions that we had, even if we asked more than once. We appreciated the quickness of the staff also. They not only checked on my daughter who was the patient, but made sure my 5yr old son had snacks and drinks to keep him as occupied as possible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the staff at the hospital, we couldnt have made it through this scary day without you!
Had a great experience at NMMC ER on 4/11/2019. Quick triage and admission process. Nurses were great!! I was discharged pretty quickly after being treated.
I was posted with an inmate several nights, the doctors, nurse, and housekeeper etc. were very friendly, professional and helpful. Tupelo Hospital is a wonderful place.
It took them over 10 hours to tell me they couldn't help me, and that my problem was "natural". They literally did nothing and charged me 3000 for it. I make less than 200 per month, i dont have the documents they want for the "financial assistance" so I can't get help. Especially not from the customer service, who always have something better to do with their time than give me answers. It's been over 6 months, i call once a week to try to resolve this. Nothing. They either dont answer the phone for 2 hours, or they'll "call me back" which they never do. Too bad my credit relies on their incapability to help.
Very clean and friendly staff
Saved my life, even though a few of the staff had a few quirks overall I couldn't have asked for better treatment
I could go on for days about how awful this place is.. But today put the cherry on top.. I called this place over and over for about 20 minutes with no answer.. Then a woman finally answers with an attitude... Just awful
It’s the hospital ! If you have a bad experience it’s probably because you didn’t go to Whitfield mental institution first !
Managers suck
My boyfriend has stage 4 cancer. These folks were so friendly from ER to ICCU to the room floor he had. They were prompt and very caring of him. We've been from Corinth to Memphis to Tupelo and Tupelo was by far the best!!
Worst hospital I have ever been to!!!
Worst place to get anything done with job applications and shadowing applications ever. I have been waiting 3 weeks to hear back from my application when they told me 1 week. They made me go and get all my immunisations and fill out a book of paperwork and never contacted me back. I call and email them everyday but no response. Pathetic. They could have at least had the decency to tell me they were not going to take my application instead of using me as a pin cushion for all the shots I had to get.
Tell me something...how is it that a major piece of equipment needed for a procedure to complete a surgery doesn't work when needed? You have someone who is in very bad shape, cut open, and your machine goes down!!! Really? How often do you think a human being can handle that? Especially someone who is in such bad shape. This is a human being!! Not just a number on a chart but a person, a father, a son, a husband!!! If you were operating on your own family member would that have happened? Yeah, I don't think so!!! Please get it together and care.
If you wanna die. They can help you. Worlds worst hospital.
In sure they're alright but I'm giving it a one star because every time I come here as a food delivery person, they never tip and it just wastes my time and money to come here.
This hospital has lost it's way.
Saw Dr.Knight in Emergency Room Today...I have alot of health issues and I was in alot of pain...He was Professional and Caring...A Good Doctor...Thank You Dr.Knight for Seeing me...He knows what he's Doing...
Medical seem to love people, and the cafeteria staff provide good fare with a lot of hospitality.
Went to emergency for chest pains. Was taken to room immediately and the whole group continued to look after me and run test until they found the problem. Top notch emergency team!
The service there was awful!
Great app
My elderly grandmother was transferred on 7-18-18 to this facility and initially I was relieved to have her there. Imagine my distress, 2000 miles away, when she is dicharged 2 days later and they DON'T KNOW if it was a heart attack or stroke but assured her and my mother that it would fine outpatient, whichever way!!! Complete madness!!! What kind of facility is this!!! Then imagine my distress when my mother relays to me that not only was my grandmothers discharge inconclusive but that a doctor in this facilty actually yelled at her when she had questions!!! SERIOUSLY??? Outraged. Calling the hospital tomorrow! Go somewhere else if you have a choice! Completely unacceptable medical treatment and completely unprofessional medical staff.
Took our newborn to the ER and they took us to a room right away, they did a full septic work up on her and admitted us to pediatrics. The nurses and doctor (Dr. Thomas) were ALL amazing for our 4 night stay. The staff really does care and have amazing bedside manners. The nurses were very attentive and do not make you seem like a burden. I would recommend this hospital in a heartbeat.
Staff is very friendly, compassionate & helpful!
My father has just had heart surgery here. All the staff have been friendly and helpful. Everything has been explained and questions answered. I’m a vegan and the cafe seems lacking. They sell fruit, but if you want a real veggie meal you’re out of luck- at least the times I went. The vending machines are also lacking in healthy options. Finally, not so much the hospital, but there are no sidewalks along the streets to local eating places. It seems like a hospital would do a few more things to promote healthy choices (eating and exercising). However, those minor gripes aside it seems like an excellent place for hospital care if you need it.
I call the billing department two different times. Holding at least 10 minutes om both calls. The lady answered the phone it sounded like she was eating. That for one is very unprofessional. Customer service is also very unprofessional. Called about my bill and she had to correct me in a rude way and the way she said some things was RUDE
Some of employees are awesome just don't get stuck on 5th floor....there no one ever around
I was in this hospital feb12 2019, for a knee replacement, I have acclaim insurance, Dr.william pillow did my knee replacement, my doctor is good, I was in room 4413, The nurse by the name of Carol, worst I ever seen, she would not bring my pain meds, she couldn't get the IV drip to stop beeping, bad attitude, no good bedside manner, the room I stayed in needed a good cleaning, the floor was filthy with dirt and debris , the bathroom was hideous the worst nurse was on day shift Carol I wish I knew your last name.I had a nurse by the name of Rachel, she was night shift, So kind pleasant, Good bedside manner, she even did the CNA job.empty my bed pan Wendy was cna, I was not duped up from pain med because my stomach rejected the opioids I kept throwing up I'm pretty sure Carol was running around high as hell cause I wasn't getting no pain. Meds on her shift
I've had my hand broken last night and had to work this morning so I forgot my information for my dr that I'm suppose to call and make an appointment for after I left the emergency room. I just decided to call nmmc and got an answer to a rude lady who for one didn't greet me or ask me my name so she could at least look it up to even try to help a little bit. I didn't have my drs name so she hung up. I called for information for something I urgently need and I got nothing but a rude employee. Wish I knew her name I'd file a complaint against her.
This place is horrible. Wish I could put no stars
My one year old daughter was rushed here for breathing distress. We stayed overnight for observation . The er nurses and doctors took care of us immediately. When we were moved to a room the nurses and doctor on the Pedatric floor were all wonderful. Dr thomas was the treating physician . I cannot remember everyone's names but all of our nurses and respiratory nurses were wonderful.Special thank you to nurse Rob, he was amazing with us.Thank you for everything and taking such good care of my daughter.
My husband has been there for 3 weeks after knee replacement for both knees. Moved to rehab and after a week had to be moved to the 3rd floor for a heart problem. I can't say enough about how pleased we have been with the staff.
Due to them not having a lick of compassion for the patients or their family, I wish I could give them 0 stars, I have no choice but to give them 1.
Everyone has been so friendly and helpful.
Had cervical neck surgery done and Dr Stacy was my surgeon, he's a all around good guy as well as a amazing Dr and his staff and nurses also did a excellent job of caring for me I'll recommend him any day
I rate this hospital a high three because of the staff that is always going above and beyond to help you and/or your family at all times. But that's the only thing positive I can really say... While most all staff are great and amazing there's always those few that are just snobby and act like their just there for a check. And I know some people just have bad days but when it's always the same ones... Also another low is that if you visit this hospital be prepared for a good little wait. I've always had a extensive stay.
Great, best hospital around
