I typically love this hospital, but when you’re experiencing unfortunate circumstances that bring you into the emergency room - triage staff should inform you if it’s going to be nearly 5 hours before they can address your pain - at least providing you an opportunity to visit another local hospital.

We brought our Daughter in for the second time in one week to the emergency room for severe left side pain, they examined her and said it was a Kidney stone they call in Dr. Twidwell the urologist to try and remove it and he put a stent in. Surgery went well he said and should only be a half hour till we see her, An hour and a half went by no one said anything to us but the Nurse in the back said they were waiting for a room be be cleaned!! They finally said we could go up to a room on 3rd floor as we got in the room shes Crying uncontrollable and said her Jaw stuck open when they removed the breathing tube so they quickly put her back to sleep and manipulated it back Shut!!! we were not told of this by anyone till she told us up in her room,, Yes we were very Mad!!!! the nurse came in like no big deal!!!! As we noticed when we were up stairs with her there were plenty of rooms opened also and why the nurse down stairs Lied to us that they were busy up stairs to get an open room for her and cleaning a room for her?????? Her Dad asked her a while after what she wanted to eat she asked for a malt so he went and got her that and some mashed potatoes, something soft since her Jaw hurt more than the kidney stone and the stent they put in. he got back and the Nurse came in and got Mad at her for eating it !!! No one told us or her to be on a clear Liguid diet, so I brought it home to change into sweats because I was staying the night with her. I got back its 11pm now shes Hungry, the Nurse came in and tells her shes hungry and she said eat your Malt after she told her not to eat it that shes on a clear Liquid diet!!!! WTH!!! Poor nursing if you ask us!! So I stayed the night and the next nurse came in and took her vitals at midnight and left but said she would would be back in at 3am to take them again, she showed up at 5am Looking like she just woke up, I said where were you at 3am she said I was suppose to call her and tell her!!! oh Hell No again Poor nursing!!!! This was the Night of Aug 30th 3rd floor room 3004 Our first experience and our last we live two miles from the Hosp. so the following week we went to North Robb, to get the stone out and the stent. much better care Attentive, one on one with her You wanted our review so you got

I brought my pregnant wife with bleeding and pain (losing the baby) at their emergency at 4:50pm. They made us sit and wait in the waiting room before they can even find a room to have her sleep and check. We spoke with the nurses manytimes and everytime they tell us that they are working on it. On around 8:50pm (after 4hrs sitting in the waiting room), they got us in a room and took them another one hour to have her ultrasounded. I am writing this comment at 10:32pm and we are still stuck and waiting for the result. If your patient needs EMERGENCY care, this is not your place. Plz and plz don't bring your patients to their emergency department.

You're better off calling a witch doctor. Don't waste your time.

First, my birth and delivery services were amazing at this hospital. However, I wouldn't recommend this hospital for ER services, especially evening or late night. You WILL wait for at least 2 hours. Also, they way they do their billing is not just one straightforward bill. It is 2 or 3 separate Bill's for the one visit.

Wonderful Maturity Ward. I delivered my Baby Boy there this last May and it was a great experience. The nursing staff was so sweet and knowledge, I don’t know what I would have done without them. I would recommend Maple Grove to anyone.

I delivered my son here in 2018 & I plan on delivering my next son here fall 2019. We had an AMAZING experience with labor and delivery, especially our nurse Lela and Dr Siberio. Thankfully, Lela was the one who came on the next morning after I had the cervidal inserted because the nurse from the night before said she only worked every once in a while and stabbed the heck out of my hand and bruised me, and she didnt seem like the most pleasant and comforting to have around during the L&D process. However, I cannot stress enough how thankful we were for Lela! Even my husband made comments about her & the staff being so amazing! As first time parents that was huge to have! During my delivery my son's shoulders got stuck and the staff was in there like white on rice and made sure he and I were safe! Post-partum care was a little different, but definitely not bad!! I read other reviews that said they were pushy about breastfeeding which I understand, but babies have a super tiny stomach at that point anyway so they also can't eat that much either. And breastfeeding is hard, it took me 6 weeks to get it down! But let me tell you it is definitely worth it if you are able to! The only thing I thought was hard about the post partum room was that nurses and other staff were always coming in so it was hard to get some sleep, but THAT IS THEIR JOB! They are just trying to help, and YES, it is a lot of information to take in after all that, but again, it is their job - and I didn't have one nurse or staff member that was rude or inconsiderate. They were all very nice and helpful. I also saw another review about circumcision before leaving; we also wanted that done, however our insurance doesnt cover it anyway because it's considered cosmetic/not medically necessary. Also, not a big deal because we made an appointment with the clinic upstairs to have it done and we came back a few days later for that reason AND Dr. Raff did an amazing job my son didnt even cry. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I think some of the complaints I read about seemed minor. So I thought I would leave a positive review. Women have been giving birth for 1000s of years (without nurses, drugs, etc) and I think we are lucky to have the support and technology that we do now! I will check back in after baby number 2 arrives as well and hopefully I have an amazing experience again! [Lela please be my nurse again!]

Horrible place to work. They treat there NAs like slaves and have no respect for them. Will never ever recommend that place to anyone

Lil Bee

First experience in the birth center was iffy. Although things didn't go as planned. Nurses were AMAZING, caring and extremely compassionate. Wouldn't say that, this time around with baby #2. Nurses are caddy like high school kids, extremely rude, and the least bit helpful. Conversations about personal life/ or the likes and dislikes of certain patients.... Can be over heard all day. Questions or concerns of mine regarding myself/or baby were ignored/not addressed because they "didn't want to deal with us" (conversation had right outside our door... Plain as day for any human to hear) Really bummed out by this experience. As if this experience hasn't been overwhelming as is. Sure does suck to rely on people of this nature and character to "help you".

Samey Baydhabo Janay

I had a very good experience at this hosp. The doctor and my nurse were super nice and took care of my pain. Thank you both!!

Had our first child here and stayed for 5 days, was the best place we could've been. Amazing staff and facilities.

Karina Veisberg

Awful. choose anywhere else. I asked the nurse for ways to help my knee recover and she told me to look on YouTube.

Kislay Lal

This is a great hospital and staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend for anyone who needs quality care in a healing environment.

Has it's ups and downs. The people are nice but there is people who have there own stories about long waits and service problems that you should probably read about.

I go here for just about everything, my son's pediatric doctor to the obgyn clinic. Must say everyone here is very friendly, and really know what they are doing!

The rooms are very nice and generally the staff is too. However, I have heard stories of rude and burned out nurses who don't talk too nice to patients. One former patient complained that the duty nurse would interject herself into the patients personal phone callls. Other paitent complaints include terrible tastless food and is often cold The Nursing Assistants are fantastic and we have never heard a bad thing to say about them. Some patients report that the NA's are often the kindest members of the Nursing staff.

Mark Kulda

This is an excellent hospital with very caring and helpful staff. The labor and delivery area is in particular one of the best if not the best in the state. But the name of the hospital is Maple Grove Hospital which is a collaboration between North Memorial and Fairview. It is NOT called North Memorial Medical Center, which is in Robbinsdale.

Laurie SHAWLER

I have been to make grove hospital to detox and all I got was yelled at and the nurses literally said quit drinking or they will commit me. I have heard hundreds of stories about people going to detox every weekend they treated me like shigt and threatened me every time I go there and the ICU nurses kept me up all night talking about the Kardashians and laughing and being very loud at 130 amIn The morning I do t care if I die at home I will never go back there it took 50 minutes for the nurse to respond to my call lights quit judging and do your job with compassion!!!°

Friendly staff. Excellent care. Been in ER and Labor & Delivery.

Hospital looks nice but first thing you see when you get inside are all the security guards on duty.. I think it must be a high crime area or a bunch of shady stuff is happening. Not to mention everything is on lockdown just to go down the hallway. And then to visit you have to see security and show them your ID.. it's a hospital not a prison ..

This hospital is worthless. My mother went in with chest pains and breathing issues. They kept her for two days. In those two days they failed to even take off her pants or complete basic necessity items. The communication was horrible and they didn’t do anything for her but pump her full of steroids and release her. She was released yesterday and that night her oxygen level went back down to 81, she had to take 3 neb treatments to get it back to 90. She still can’t breathe and they did nothing about it. At any cost go to a different hospital.

The staff here was very kind, and made me feel comfortable, they took me in right away. They explained the test and procedures that they were doing, and they also gave descriptions of the medications. An amazing experience and the best hospital I've been to.

Had to be seen in the ER. Didn't seem too busy upon arrival. Had to wait a great deal of time and was placed in an emergency operating room which was uncomfortable when I needed to be seen for extreme tooth pain where I couldn't help myself but bawl my eyes out. I was numbed up and sent with pain meds that I was grateful for but I landed back in the ER when reaching my hometown that evening after the numbing anesthesia wore off far too quickly. Felt a bit ignored for the type of pain I was in while others were comfortably sitting and trying to ignore my desperate need of attention before we all went crazy. I felt like I was going to catch an illness while waiting over an hour in just the waiting room and then another hour while listening to a woman deal with a collapsed lung. I felt pain and sad for the lady and wanted to leave as fast as I could!

Latoya Spearman Burton

I love the hopitality shown here by all the staff! This is one of the best hospital stays I've ever had...I ❤ Maple Grove hospital ☺

I have had babies at 3 hospitals this was by far the WORST!! THE BEDS caused me sooo much back pain! Then One of the nurses used the back of her hand to scratch her nose before she touched my baby. They were super stingy with their milk and diapers. One of the pediatric doctors that do the 24hr check up was a B! Cant remember her name. It was a woman with an accent and she stood in the doorway loudly talking about somthing personal and embarrassing in my chart! Like what kind of doctor does that?

Stephanie Silva

Front desk women just sit on the computer looking up shoes and facebook... Don't even do their job. Told me it'd only be a few min then 1 hour later I asked how long she replies "a few minutes". Lol seriously?!?!?!?

Olivia Caspers

I delivered my two children at Maple Grove hospital in 2017 and in 2018. My family and I had wonderful experiences both times. Every staff member was friendly and helpful, the nurses, nursing assistants, housekeeping staff, dietary staff were all great. I would recommend this hospital to anyone looking for a caring facility that pays attention to the details.

Mai Xiong

My second exprience at maple grove hospital was horrible. Two rude nurses in the ER. One even rolled her eyes at us. I felt as if they didn’t respect the patient due to the age difference. Nurses were unsensentative of the pain and medical issue with patient.

If you come here be prepared to sit in the waiting area for at least an hour f this place

Leon Keller

Family member had her first baby here. Doctors and nurses are very sweet and caring, they provided my cousin and her baby with the best care and made her feel comfortable and at home during her stay. At first when you walk inside it doesn’t feel like you are walking into a hospital, the architectural design is pretty stunning and there was even a very nice looking piano in the main hall. When I arrived it was getting late and the security guys at the front desk were nice, provided me with a pass and helped me get where I needed to go. All in all this hospital is very nice.

Long wait time's and they keep running the same dam basic blood test that does not really correlate to ones condition or issues and the dam place is like a freezer a hospital does not need to this cold to were you wish u had brought a jacket the Doctors seemed to not think out side the box in trying to find a cause of one's condition more like paper pusher Doctors that just got of med school

Cami Close

Their emergency room is clean and well maintained but the wait is hours long. I don't know who wrote the ER patients get a room of their own, but they sure don't mean those that are waiting. Even if you're brought in by an ambulance! I'm not giving a star rating for the ER but if you can bare the 3-6 hour wait, once they start taking care of you - they're the best in the cities.

Katie Dooley

I gave birth to my daughter at this hospital a few weeks ago. My husband and I spent a total of 5 days there due to an unplanned c-section and were blown away by how amazing our experience was! The rooms were very nice, comfortable, and spacious, and the staff was amazing! Every single doctor and nurse that helped us during our stay were extremely helpful and knowledgeable which was extra helpful for first time parents like ourselves! We even received a nice card from the staff that helped us during our stay with personalised messages from each person, so thoughtful! We're so grateful to have had our daughter at this hospital!

Be prepared to wait for 5 hours, I’m talking about the ER, and you see people who came after you getting help before you.

Andrea Hembroff

We had our third son here and what a freaking nightmare. First off, I was high risk and they were incredibly negligent because they couldn't be inconvenienced. Then, they botched my son's circumcision. And THEN, double billed me for the doctor who botched the circumcision. AND THEN!!!! Prematurely put our bills into collections. Took me hours and hours of phone calls to get our bills pulled out of collections and even more hours to deal with their double billing error. If I was dying and needed immediate medical assistance, I wouldn't go to MG hospital. Totally unorganized and a total nightmare to work with. Oh yea... and then they sold my debt to a company I have never heard of without telling me. Now I'm HOPING this company I make payments to every month is legit.

I’ve given birth to ALL 4 of my Babies here. Came in literally every year starting from my 1st child 2015 and now my 4th one 10/07/2018 I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the place and staff here. All the nurses are always so sweet, kind, and Patient with my little family. They do everything they can to always make sure I’m getting everything I need. Constantly checking for my comfortability. I can’t say enough good things about this place. My husband looks forward to it every year just for the food haha. Space is incredible. One year I had 15 family members that all came to see me in my labor room. I have no complaints about this place. This was our home/anniversary place for 4 years, haha. We’ve had same nurses all 4 years, some new too. This is our last birth so, my family and I really THANK THE TEAM HERE FOR EVERYTHING! ❤️ Dr. Goudge and Dr. Lyerly honestly sweetest OB everrr.

Beware of the bills! We had two children at this hospital. One in 2016 and one in 2018. We were over-billed for the first birth and it took a whole year to get the over-billed amount returned to us. We went back in 2018 and are seeing extra charges this time around. Costs went up nearly ten thousand dollars for a shorter and simpler stay. Make sure you have good insurance – they’ll not only max out your individual out-of-pocket but the family out-of-pocket too.

Khrystina Northrop-Day

I saw Dr. Sharma through North Memorial. She was incredibly rude and had horrible bed side manner. I tried telling her that my pain was unmanaged and she told me that this is how it will be for the next 4-6 weeks. We had to push for any testing to be done. There is no was in hell I will go back to her.

MK Yang

I brought my daughter in to ER mid December because she had a cut on her head. Waited for the bill to come in and never received one then today I receive an attorney letter from collection and there is still no itemize bill! Last time I’m bringing my children or any family to this ER!!

Paul P

We just had our second child at Maple Grove Hospital and have nothing but great things to say about the doctors, nurses, and staff!

Linda Drews

Nurses were great. The food was horrible. Ceaser sala dressing was so salty it was unedible. Turke breast was gross along with the mashed potatoes were soupy and watery (gross). The buttered pasta was cold and stuck together like glue ( very gross). They need to take some cooking lessons from Unity hospital. I was here 2 years ago and the food was desent. Quality has really gone down hill.

Kristen Harris

Wonderful ER staff and doctors. They provided exceptional care and made me feel at ease.

Emily Martinez

I have been here for emergency surgery/intensive care and chose this hospital to have our baby, our experience here was absolutely great! you could tell everyone was very pleased to work for the hospital. the hospital itself is so beautiful and very well designed. great food and customer care. i just love the place and me, my wife and newly born daughter recently switched clinics to the North Clinic that is attached to the hospital! everything about this place is just amazing. im so proud of Maple Grove for putting this hospital here in our city.

Be aware of the bill. You are told 1 amount when registration calls you then the same amount when you check in. I received a bill for 4 times the amount!!!! A $700 bill turned into a $2900 bill .

I'm in the hospital now. The nurses are horrible, they are to encourage your care, I've had no help with the breathing tube, I have my NG broken and now just tape it together, no encouragement to get up and walk. If my surgeon could care for me it be much better.

We have now had 2 children at Maple Grove Hospital now. Both experiences were absolutely amazing. We felt like the safety of mom and baby were first and foremost. ALL of the nurses in Delivery and up on 4 in the Surgical Care and Recovery Center, were AMAZING. JESSIE KRISTINE CHRISTINE ROBIN KRYSTAL BRI JENNA and others I can’t recall but all were actually incredible nurses and human beings. All interactions in the cafeteria, with room service, in the OR, ALL were 5 star. Thank you!!! Love Baby Jordyn

My family has visited the ER a number of times over the years. Maple Grove Hospital has consistently been an absolutely wonderful place to go. The staff is compassionate and knowledgeable. The ER is not crowded. The ambiance is very nice. Patients in the ER have private rooms with real walls. Excellent care and great service!

Said Hashi

Nice place with professional and excellent staff.

Stephanie May

Had the best experience ever! The staff was so kind, considerate, sensitive, sweet, caring, non judgemental, so quick to help and overall amazing people. They did everything above and beyond expectations for me and my family. I cant thank them all enough. We were treated with respect and felt like family royalty! Compare to a 5 star suite hotel! I cant wait to have my 2nd child and grandbabies delivered from such delicate, giving hands. It was my honor and pleasure to write this review and i do hope the staff can see this! I love you all! Thanks!

In for an emergency visit. Facility nice. My husband had to lay for 4+ hours on a bed that was a foot too short for him (I have pictures) so in addition to the terribly pain he was in, this made it even worse. When using the button to call for the nurse, she never came in. We were told it would be a half hour for some test results...2 hours later we received the results with no explanation for the delay. When the nurse, doctor or others were in the room, all were very nice.

I had a motor vehicle accident last year December, I was not feeling bad or pain at all but because I have never been to any hospital except for child birth, I was not feeling like like checking in. But my husband and my brother begged me to come to this hospital in the ER and get checked out. Trust me, the wait here is not that long. I know a couple of hospitals that you wait for 6hours, in this hospital, the maximum I guess is 3 hours, so this is not bad at all. But for me I didn't even wait for 2 hours, I think after 1 hour I was in. Everything was done quickly, all my tests. Everything was normal. The NP was excellent and professional. But anyways...this hospital is full of nice staff and compassionate staff. I recommend Maple Grove hospital to everyone who need medical care.

Jennifer Nack

Just had a great experience with the labor and delivery team. Midwife Fernanda, and RN Elle were awesome! Everyone else that we encountered during our two night stay was professional and made sure all our questions and needs were addressed. Thank you for a great and memorable adventure!

Staff is absolutely wonderful and very friendly, they will take good care of you here unlike many other hospitals in the metro area.

Terrible!!! Went to the er for a major headache. Leave with a headache. They made it better and that's it. They me CT scan and that's it. MRI would have been better option because it covers more like looking for tumors and spinal injury. Two years ago I was in there and basically the same thing. At that I went the champlin clinic and the doctor referred me to a specialist and they found I had a heart infection. Maple Grove said I had accute headaches. I should have known better to go there but needed some relief they were the only one you could walk in and get seen others were 2-4 hour waits. I have an appointment the day after memorial day with the same doctor that diagnosed me with endocardis. If I make it till then. There was a reason nobody at maple grove they are TERRIBLE would like to use a different word but

We delivered our girl after c section , everybody helped and supported us in a very nice and decent way .Entire staff of nurses was soo supportive. We loved our stay here .

Kfluff Cooks

Had my baby here a few months ago. My doctor was amazing amd many members of the staff were as well. There were some sprinkled in that I wasn't happy about. I am unable to recall their names because they were not my normal nurse but just responding to me ringing the buzzard. I had a csection and also NEVER been to a hospital that makes you walk out after discharge. I have been to many hospitals and never once did that ever happen.

Paul Peterson

My wife had her C-Section here. Family birth center was excellent. The nurses were not only friendly to us but to each other. They took good care of my wife and baby boy. I was disappointed with the ER. We were told to go to the ER for my wife two days post discharge and were asked to wait for two hours with our 5 day old in the waiting area. Once there the doctor and nurse were very good. Two hours is too long for an Er wait so you may call ahead or go somewhere else.

Travis Mitchell

I rarely goto the docotor. My favorite question I get here, who is your regular physician. I have said "you are doctor" a couple times. I have had my wife and children stay over night for one thing or another and I can honestly say. Its about time I feel good about paying for a good hospital and enjoy our stay. Easily the Four Seasons of hospitals.

Nicole Perrin

I had my youngest son there. The staff was nice and helpful. We bring both of our boys for regular visits to the North Memorial clinic in the hospital. Dr. Esan Is amazing. He does such a good job of explaining things and he does his own follow up calls! I have never ever had the actual doctor call to follow up on anything before. It's actually really nice. There are other clinics closer to us but we will always make the drive to see him.

Jacob Selseth

We had our baby boy on the 28th. Delivery went just fine. We wanted to have our boy circumcised before leaving hospital. Pediatrician recommended we do it outpatient. Better for baby he said. We come the find out they no longer offered circumcision in hospital and his suggestion was simply covering hospital admin tracks for laying off doctors that performed service. That sadly led us to dealing with our insurance company most of that day in hospital trying to schedule a outpatient appointment. Since end of year, large deductible, and nicer to have done sooner than later we drove from hospital to Champlain Park in snow storm with our 8 and 7 year old boys to get procedure done. Nightmare. Our boy is wonderful though. Very bad experience. They should know better. Oh and no towels in bathroom so wife dried off with a sheet after taking shower post delivery. Seriously. I guess towels were in a drawer on other side of room.

Brought my 3 year old son into the emergency room in the middle of the night after he fell off his bed and got a laceration on his head. Dr McCoy and the nurses were amazing! My son went in scared and crying but left wanting to go back. Keep up the superb job!

Inna Teslaru

I went to emergency because my back, neck, and arms was hurting after I snowboarded the first time. After waiting 25min. they called me in a room and a doctor came, who stayed less then 10min. I also asked to have an X-ray, but they didn’t want to do that because it was not necessary. ❌After a few weeks I got a bill of $550, I don’t get it! Why do I have to pay this amount when they didn’t help me with anything????⁉️

I didn't even want to give this place one star. They are horrible. Absolutely zero help from ER staff with husband who was disabled and injured. Just wanted to get him out the door. They need staff who are more knowledgeable about people with disabilities and our unique needs.

I recently had a 5 day experience at Maple Grove Hospital - it was exceptional. I was admitted through the Emergency Department twice - both times to a responsive and helpful team. My overnight stays in the hospital were excellent in all aspects of care. Staff, food, care - all exceptional. The nursing staff was great, especially Leslie Davis, who was kind, thoughtful and caring, providing fast helpful feedback, just "taking care of me" and my family. Leslie was clearly a highly skilled and well trained nurse. I have already shared my overall experience with family and friends - and although I would prefer to never be in the hospital again, Maple Grove Hospital will be my absolute first choice - Phil Dell

We had our 2nd child at this hospital and the delivery was great but an hour after our son was born he was taken away to NICU staying he was having trouble breathing. What we thought was going to be a 2 day stay ended up being 2 weeks. Keeping him in NICU to be while we stayed in a broader room. There are some really nice nurses taking care of our son and some nurses that don't care for children were horrible. Was told we were unable to hold our son because we stress him out which made his condition worse. Nurses are unprofessional down time they would have a whole lot of loud personal conversation while parents where visiting their child. My son would have a hard time sleeping because of all the nurses talking loudly. They will trick you into telling you that your child is extremely sick to prolong the stay. Never again will we be back better off going some where else.

Malpractice: Forgot to remove all staples then refused later to remove them. My wife had major surgery and had been home for a few days. Complained about pain at a certain part of the incision and found there was still staples that they failed to remove. I called the hospital and they were not sympathetic at all. Stated there is nothing they can or would do for my wife. Now my wife has to wait until tomorrow to go to her physician to remove them. She can’t drive because surgery so I have to take off work and she’s in pain because the hospital lack to prevent and fix their errors.

Marissa Leecy

Was seen super quick and all the staff were nice and informative

Chuck Dawley

I went there with severe Pain in what I thought may have been my hip, lower back and told the Dr I was going to have Nerve Stimulator put in. So what does this damn clown do checks my Refexes and then tells me about PAIN MANAGEMENT!!! So I looked him in the eye and told him I should have went to Summit Orthopedic instead of there. If I should ever have to go there,ERGENT CARE I hope to hell i got one foot in the ground

New and so clean! We had our 2nd child here and appreciated the attentive nurses. My wife was impressed with their birth facilities; the rooms have labor tubs. Apparently not all hospitals offer this feature. I'll take her word for it. How in the world it receives a 3.3 is beyond me. Very close to the freeway as well, so in an emergency it's conveniently placed.

Went to ER, on two occasions. No help with my symptoms of sleep issues and depression. First occasion the nurse was going to send me home with the meds I took too much of. I stayed overnight because I told her I would continue to abuse the meds. Faith the crisis counselor was the only positive person of my stay. Then the doc said I could go home at the same time the crisis counselor (not Faith) got me a bed at psych unit, but I said I would go home. Second occasion, Dr. Cody was nice but the crisis counselor Dorothy? made me angry after talking to her. She was not convinced how bad my depression was and was not helpful at all. It seemed an effort for her to see if there was a bed for me at psych unit for me. It seemed she had already made up her mind on other options for me, before even talking to me. Just the things she said to me, made me mad and I said I am just going home. I guess I wasn't suicidal enough. I just wanted to be treated and get help. There was no hope for the hopeless there. I hope you do not bill my insurance for the crisis counselor time, because it was a waste of time. Both visits were a waste of my time and the ER staff time. Dr. Cody said come back if needed, but I don't think so. This all happenned in a week in a half. Again, I guess I wasn't suicidal enough for the drs and counselors to get the help I needed.

Thank you for your help and support in bringing these two angels into our arms in Sept 2015 and April 2019, it was amazing to feel so confident in the care of the whole medical team!!

We delivered our baby here. Great, detailed care. Most of the nurses were super sweet. A few were a bit grumpy-we were there for 5 days so we saw a variety. The Dr. That delivered our baby was amazing-she was just so kind and caring. They take a more holistic approach which I love but when breastfeeding wasn't going smoothly and I suggested a bottle, I received some very pressured advice-which I get, one has to remain steadfast, but also in that stressful situation, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. At 1am our last night, the sweetest nurse came in and discussed formula with us. She was so personable and sweet-she was a true Angel when I was feeling alone. And as it turned out, my daughter was able to take a bottle, and had no issue going back to breastfeeding. So I think sometimes there is just a bit too much pressure to do what they feel is best, but outside of that, amazing experience.

Had my daughter July 2017 at Maple Grove Hospital with midwife Debra Boersma and multiple nurses, I was there a few days and wish I had all there nurses names. Debra Boersma was outstanding, she listened to me and was very down to earth. She explained everything throughly and my husband and I felt relaxed and comfortable with her care. The nurses were AMAZING, each nurse really seemed to care and were on top of everything. If it weren’t for the nurses I’m almost positive I would’ve ended up having a c-section (one recovery is hard enough!). Could not have asked for a better experience or a better atmosphere to bring my little girl into! Thank you! I’ll be back!

On behalf of Max, a recent teen patient, who had to have an unexpected Appendectomy on the evening of Sunday 6/19/2016. He came in very nervous and uncomfortable. He was seen almost immediately, and the entire process was explained not just to us as adults but also to him directly. He is 14 and transgender, and doesn't like hospitals and suffers from social anxiety. He received such amazing and special care. Everyone was so kind and respectful to him, from using correct pronouns and making him feel like the young man he is. As the adults in his life, his mother and myself, we would thank everyone involved in his care and surgery. Especially his Overnight RN, La and Morning RN Erin, whom we received a card from in the mail today. Again thank you to Everyone involved and a special thank you for your kindness and sensitivity to Max. Corinne and Amy

Delivered all our babies there. Great care.

Front desk at emergency department demanded that patient sit and fill out paperwork while patient complained of pain in the heart (Possible heart attack). The way the patient was treated was outrageous and unacceptable!! The patient should have been rushed to a room immediately instead of being told to sign consent and insurance forms.

It is a wonderful place to give birth, but a horrible post-natal care experience. I was belittled less than 24 hours after giving birth and being awake for 36+ hours. When breastfeeding wasn't going well and I wanted to give my son a bottle so he could be full I was told giving him ONE bottle would ruin him from breastfeeding for the rest of his life (A BLATANT LIE). When I finally fell asleep after being awake for over 48 hours a nurse walked in to bathe my kid, when I tearfully begged her to do it later so I could sleep and make a rational decision for once, she said no and told me parenting was hard. I'm currently pregnant and looking into every other option to give birth but Maple Grove hospital.

Well first I would like to say I sure wish I had read the reviews for this hospital before I ever had an emergency situation. I’ve been to other hospital emergency rooms and this was by far the worst experience. My 6 month old daughter had swallowed something, she was able to breathe, but she was vomiting with blood and crying hysterically. We had arrived by ambulance and it still took two hours to even see a doctor and only reason why we saw one then was because we became frantic at this point. When the dr finally came in she had no sense of urgency and absolutely no empathy. She even suggested that we go home and observe her overnight and if she gets worse bring her back in. My daughter is 6 months old I remind you. She couldn’t keep anything down, she couldn’t eat or rest. Finally the pediatric dr came in after about 3 hrs of being there she agreed we transfer to children’s if I wanted to. Gosh I wish I never even came there absolutely the worst experience and they did absolutely nothing for her. Thankfully when we arrived at Children’s she finally received care 8 hrs after the incident occurred. The doctor there then found a pine needle left over from the Christmas tree stuck in her throat with his bare eyes using just a tongue depressors. Into the OR and now she’s on the mend. I am very upset how they handled this very serious and scary situation. I know you will respond contact our patient advocate number but believe me I will be right away in the morning thank you

Brought my 2 year old son to ER tonight 9-11-16. It was 7:55pm. Son didnt go to the bathroom for 4 days and keeps trying and crying. Well sitting there till 10pm finally said that's it and during the whole time wife asked do they know how much longer and they said he is next. They took about 30 adults before any kids that were there. I understand if something serious but only few were older people and the rest mid 20s to mid 30s. So I called and talked to Tammy the head supervisor and she said they should have said only next but also added that more important stuff comes first. Well according to Tammy all 30 or so people had something more serious and all the kids there had nothing. Young girl throwing up and fever wasn't that important or young boy that fell and could be serious sat waiting. Well Scott looking at everyone to be seen maybe take more classes to figure who goes first. Never seen a hospital take adults instead of kids first unless it was very important. Girl in her mid 20s laughing and have a he'll of the time getting in first even though she came in about 9pm. Will also get state of mn involved. Unity beats them and I hate unity hospital.

Each of my children were born here. MG Hospital did a great job lending a hand! They made the experiences memorable by treating our whole family with dignity and respect.

My Dr. Mathew Palmer and my nurse Holly Sow were the best. My doctor really listened to me and my Nurse Holly had an amazing bed side manner. So caring compared to the others . I was there for a same day surgery and Ms. HOLLY... I hope your amazing bed side manner is recognized by your bosses.

My experience was great up until their discharge instructions almost killed my new baby. Beware, on the discharge instructions they tell breastfeeding mom’s to feed the baby vitamin D3/D-VI-SOL. However, there is no warning that this can cause some babies to have a severe reaction even cardiac arrest. Thank God we only gave our infant ½ the dose they instructed or I have no doubt my baby would have died. Instead, after feeding him the vitamin he immediately started foaming at the mouth, his eyes rolled back, turned bright red, his tongue swelled up, and he couldn’t breathe. One of the nurses in the ER confirmed that his baby had a similar reaction to vitamin D. I contacted a patient advocate and asked them to work with us on the $500+ ER bill we incurred, as we wouldn’t have known to feed this vitamin to our baby had the hospital not instructed us to do so. They would not help. I also asked for the hospital to at least then put a disclaimer on the discharge instructions. They would not. They blew off my concerns and explained that “none of the studies showed significant risk for harm and no cardiac risks with vitamin D”. You take 2 seconds to google this online and you find plenty of other parents had infants that reacted badly. Sadly, we wouldn’t have known to question discharge instructions from a hospital and so had to go through the experience of our baby nearly dying. I hope that this review saves other parents from having to live through this incredible horrifying trauma.

Heard great things about this place. Hoping if I’m sick or dying I can go here.

I have been to the Maple Grove ER twice. I like their service. In and out as quickly as possible. Plus they are really friendly and helpful. It's a very nice place to go if you aren't feeling good.

Was monitored in labor and delivery for 6 hours today after being rear ended. Tammy was my nurse for the majority of my stay. She was kind, caring and just the best! Everyone that took care of me today was amazing and I appreciate their hard work. Can't wait to be back in 11 weeks to deliver my baby!

Sarah Carlson

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The doctors just actually care about you as a person and take time to really try to help.

Donald Phillips

Beautiful facility, glorious grand piano, nestled in a convenient location and the rear of the hospital faces beautiful oak trees that includes a nice walking path. I remember the view and facility because we spent quite a bit of time in the birthing center. Our full term daughter passed at Maple Grove hospital because there were complications inserting breathing tube. Please do what you can to select a birthing hospital based on outcomes not logistics, the facility or other superficial factors.

L Johnson

Whatever you do don’t see Dr. David Brooks. The guy is rude, outspoken, and honestly kind of a bird brain.

Never will I have another child at this hospital. I thought this was a good hospital but I wrong completely wrong. Never again will I ever have a baby at this hospital.

My brother and SIL were in with their 3 week old son, because he hadn't been keeping anything down. The ER Dr. told them since he was still at a healthy weight that they should just take him to his checkup this coming week. They had suspicion that it may be a condition called pyloric stenosis which is determined with an ultrasound. The Dr. told them he wasn't sure there was an ultrasound tech on-call. Seriously you are a hospital with an ER. There should always be someone on call for EVERYTHING! He is now being treated at another hospital in the cities for the exact condition they thought he had, but the doctor would not address and blew off. I will NEVER EVER bring myself or anyone else to your hospital. And now you have left them with two different ER bills because your doctor would not address the issue. He told them it wasn't up to him, but up to their pediatrician. Seriously? A patient, no matter the age, should be treated as their patient if they are not healthy. What a joke!

OUTSTANDING URGENT CARE!! I was provided very high level care for a fractured wrist. The staff is most welcoming and compassionate. The complex care is efficient, cutting edge up-to-date, and virtually painless. After a solid diagnosis and explanation of condition and treatment, an expert team sedated me and successfully reduced a nasty radial fracture. A beautiful Sugar-Tong splint was placed...and I was out the door...total time around 2 hours. Phenomenal! Best care I have ever received!

Joel Wacker

Corrupt hospital. Don't even bother coming here. They won't help you, but will be happy to put you into debt for the rest of your life. I'm not talking to your worthless pt rep. You can talk to my attorney instead.

Jasmine Jones

This hospital sucks was here Tuesday for the same issue called my reg OB provider only to find out they should have kept me Tuesday to fix the issue I came in for originally now here it is Thursday and still no results. This was going to be where i delivered my son in a few short weeks but i am now reconsidering everything the level of care is poor to say the least. Im not happy with my OB clinic or this hospital at all. At 30 weeks pregnant im really considering going to a new OB clinic and delivering at mother baby center because maple grove is THE WORST. I'm originally from Saint Paul new to hennepin county and all the incompetence makes me want to go bck to my Saint Paul clinic as well as where i was going to deliver which was Saint Johns im sure they would have fixed this issue on Tuesday or kept me until i was comfortable the pain im in is ridiculous. And all I've gotten since Tuesday is the run around.

On Tuesday, March 13th my son decided to join us. My husband and I packed up and headed to the Family Birth Center at Maple Grove Husband at 2:00 AM. From the moment we arrive to the time we were discharged our experience at Maple Grove was exceptional. This is our first child, so we did not know what to expect for labor and delivery, but the Midwives, nurses, and staff at Maple Grove walked us through every step, were encouraging, thoughtful, helpful and made our labor and delivery as great an experience as possible. For first time mothers & fathers, to experience parents, we highly recommend the Family Birth Center at Maple Grove.

Tajudin Mohamed

Best hospital, best doctors and best nurses. We just had our little one last week in Maple Grove Hospital, it's the best hospital anyone could ask for to have their baby in. I don't know how to thank them for their great service. Dr. Hallstrom was our doctor, she's the best doctor to trust for your pregnancy and delivery, she's beyond amazing. And moreover, their nurses are the most helpful, goodhearted and gentle nurses ever especially Margaret S. RN and Alyssa RN are the best we were lucky to have them as our nurses. Thank you so very much for all your help! I highly recommend Maple Grove Hospital if you ever needed to go to one.

Daphne

I had to be admitted through the ER with an infection. The staff, nurses, doctors have been nothing but professional and caring. The environment is clean, calming and makes being in the hospital tolerable. I would highly recommend Maple Grove Hospital. I have to commend the quality of nursing care you receive especially. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional and seem genuinely interested in your quality of care.

Glenyse Heath

Had to bring a family member here first thing in the morning. We arrived at about 8:35 am and we’re leaving before 9:15 am. Excellent service, very personable, so if there’s another emergency I will be back.

Sharon Yancy

Just had the worst experience with the Labor and Delivery Nurses regarding my daughter care. The Charge Nurse Sally hung up on me twice, was rude and So disrespectful. Unprofessional on all levels.

Brandi Fink

We took our 3 year old to the ER late at night for stitches. Very prompt, friendly, professional attention. As good as an unfortunate trip to an ER could be.

David M Ball

The worst hospital due to the integrity of the employees which is a direct reflection of the leadership.

Elijah Steck

Please join us for a class action lawsuit against their nic unit. If they took your baby to the nic unit and refused to give you details you asked for or very vague about details, did you try and ask details and they talked down to you or no one person was in charge? Just a bunch of nurses running around and intentional disorder of communication and terror tactics like emergency but no real details? If you have a baby at this hospital and have good insurance , your baby more then Likely will be taken from you and they will blast your baby full of antibiotics and add ten plus grand to your bill. Now 8 months later we know people just like me who had the same experience. They will Terrify you once he is or she is born to immediately sign concent then give no details of anything and act like your a bad person asking for them. These people are disgusting, they care zero about you. Blasting your child full of antibiotics is harmful to your child nomatter if you see it immediately or not, IT DOES CAUSE DAMAGE ,Problems may develop many years later because they killed all our babies good bacteria. Try standing up and questions and see what happens, IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM NOT To give us detailed information about our babies medical care.

Malaa Kaa

Very wonderful and understanding For Benzo Withdrawal !!! Nicest hospital, layout wise, I've been too.

My disapproval is related to Maple Grove Hospital Emergency services, its lack of transparency, irrelevant treatment and charges. In 2018 our we went to get a flue test and prescription of Tamiflu for our 9-year old son. ER denied the test due to limited supply and later imposed a large sum charge for their "service". When I was trying to dispute the charges for ER irrelevant service (we had PA doing basic check-up, no prescriptions or treatment) - the Hospital resisted covering-up their wrong doing. Our son went through 10 days of misery with flue not being treated, and it could end up worse. Thought everyone who visit this page and is going to use ER should be informed.

Two weekends ago we went into the emergency room when my fiancé hurt his knee. He explained to the doctor how badly it hurt and that he felt something tear/pop. The on staff Doctor (who had a cold and was sniffling the whole time!) poked around his leg and said that he didn't feel anything wrong, told him that it was acute knee pain, to take ibuprofen for pain, and sent him on his way! A week later my fiancé decides to get a second opinion and sure enough he tore his ACL. The emergency room here is useless. This is the third time that family has come to this emergency room and gotten total bull from the doctors. I would highly recommend going anywhere else.

Amanda

The worst hospital ever! Went in to get checked out because my symptoms of an over stimulated ovary got worse and I was instructed by my doctor to get in right away if that happened. Apparently that wasn't emergency enough for this place because people who got there well after me were getting in to be seen well before I did. Im sorry but I am at risk of my ovary twisting and fluid building up in my abdomen which can move into my lungs.. this hospital is a joke! Only reason I went there is because they're the only hospital close by that could pull up the ultrasound that was done at my OB office. Nothing positive comes from this place. Worthless hospital in the state of Minnesota. I would not recommend anyone to go here. I would give it 0 stars if i could.

Yolanda Gordon

I would give this place no stars if I could!! Some of the staff was very rude. First and last time coming here!
