My husband went to the ER after having a severe nosebleed for 36 hours. I mean SEVERE. After he had lost about 3 pints of blood, we went in hoping to get it cauterized. We arrived and they gave him afrin-which we already had- and a nose clamp... we left and his nose was still gushing blood. They didn’t do anything! Complete waste of time, and most likely a few hundred dollars.

My first time being at this hospital and it was the worse experience ever! Nursing assistants are the worse. Every time I needed to go to the bathroom and had to come back they wouldn’t connect anything like my IV ect I had to keep reminding them to plug everything back. And they were so rude like they didn’t want to do there job and when I would ask for medicine this nurse would get mad. After getting out of surgery they tried moving me to a different beds and almost rolled over and I got hurt and they hit my head. When you wake up from a surgery that’s not how you want to wake up. The surgeons were so nice with their nurses!

Worst hospital I've ever been to. Locked away in a room, told me doc was not there, would arrive in an hour. That was 4 hours ago. Had to get my girlfriend to call up and ask them to get me some damn food. Nurse bitched me out about that. I sure hope no one with a serious condition has to come here. Might take years to get help.

I had a bad experience at St Joseph's Emergency room. I left the hospital after 4 hours (10 minutes of which was spent with a doctor), hundreds of dollars poorer, on the same medication that I had been taking for two days. Went to my doctor the next day, spent hundreds more, and was diagnosed with the flu (wasn't even given a flu test at the emergency room even though my daughter had the flu, which I told them). I called the hospital to complain and was told that I had received standard care. Would not recommend and will not return.

Patient care outstanding !

Nicole Williams

The staff was very unprofessional, they made rude snide remarks and made little or any effort to make me feel comforted. Not only that I was told by one of the doctors that I was as tall as I was wide as the bed, LOL I know you probably are thinking no way! Sad but true, he honestly said this, I have never been treated so poorly in my life I would not send a dog to St Joseph's.

Before you write your review, keep something things in mind: -St. Joes takes care of THE MOST at risk people in St. Paul (homeless, etc) -The ER doesn't care if you have back problems, if they're critically ill people, so waiting 5 hours isn't unheard off. -Doctors don't have time to spend a half an hour with you. Once they know what is going on, 5 minutes is usually all that is required. -No one is required to spend time with you other than assessing you, treating you, and making sure you are safe. -If you don't like the food, remember: hospitals in more affluent areas have better food. So unless you have the cure for poverty, shut up. -If you have a cold, some pain, or nothing CRITICAL: don't go to an inner city hospital! Don't waste their time, they have actual dying people to take care of.

Ashley Losie

Lost my dad at this hospital and the ER doctor and nurses were extremely rude and unprofessional. The ICU doctors weren’t much better. The waiting room for the ICU was extremely unwelcoming and made the difficult time even harder. Please, go ANYWHERE else for medical treatment.

Christopher simmons

Terrible work, inexperienced staffs, long wait hours, I went to this hospital once for when my father had lung cancer they never did anything to help him & when he came back he passed away in the hospital they never once tried to do anything to save him or revive him. St. Joseph is the worst hospital I suggest anyone not go here if you want to really value your life!!

Amber Starr

Overall the staff has been good to my Mom. Her surgeon has been amazing. There is some miscommunication between staff but it’s not horrible. All the nurses I’ve interacted with have been very nice.

Mike M

Julie was our nurse and she was stupid wondered if our baby was head down after all the visits to our regular clinic and them saying yes, and our regular clinic monitoring heartbeat every week saying everything fine and DR Julie (a nurse) saying she thinks our baby has a, atypical heartbeat. OMG stick to blood pressure and temperatures Julie.

terenie acon

Staff where very rude and my nurse Leah was so rude I had to leave the place she made me feel very uncomfortable and argued with me after she inserted my IV in wrong. Doctor didn't let me talk much he pretty much gave me a diagnoses with out me giving him all the details. Also I was changing and someone from the other room walked in and nobody said anything so disappointed!

Today, November 26, 2017 Our family including my gravely ill family experienced the most horrible and inhuman treatment by the entire staff in the emergency room department of ST. Joseph hospital. The staff treated and spoke to the patient being seen in a manner that was demeaning and inappropriate and when we spoke up to advocate on her behalf in a properby manner security was called on both my family and my loved one that was supposed to be receiving care. When we requested a transfer to another hospital they called the mental health team in and placed a hold on my family and denied her transport. Our loved one was in both physical and emotional distress witnessing her family being treated as criminals while being ripped from her bedside just for asking questions about her care and treat her with respect and dignity that she deserves. We sent for a request to speak with the patient advocate to assist us with some type of resolution and no one has yet to show up and speak with us. So we're are just sitting ducks waiting for a mental health evaluation instead of tending to her medical needs first. ST. Joseph was my family's favorite hospital and care center for over 10 years until our experience today.

My mother was admitted to st. Joesphs. She was on her death bed due to neglect from a nursing home. The staff immediately started procedures that saved her life. One man in particular a respiratory therapist on fifth floor, jumped into action. He really needs to be credited with saving her. All the nurses and doctors have been excellent in icu and the 4th floor as well as the social workers and aides. Blessings to you all, sincerely, jody l roe

Clinic appointments are ALWAYS an hour behind. Never get a reminder call and my appt is constantly canceled with less than 24 hour advance and then you can't make an another appt for over a month! Staff is beyond RUDE. Better service at McDonald's!

Mark Lippert

It's a good Hospital I have a couple of issues first you had to ask for water from one of the nurses. Second the vending machines are far away from main level. Over all this is good hospital.

Paul McLagan

I went here for some tests. It is close to my home. It is a very beautiful establishment with a great view of the capital. From my experience there the staff was very kind, accommodating and professional. The only problem is that getting around is very confusing and they could do better by putting up more maps, signs or developing an app for directions to get around.

Fiya Noor

2 weeks ago my mom was very sick and they refused to get her help because "there were no bed available" to hell with the beds the nurse was right there and could have at least done something but they all just watched as my mom cried in pain! After 3 hours of waiting I took my mom to regions and she was put in ICU. This used to be my favorite hospital but now that I see how some of the workers are unprofessional and rude I will make sure to never step a foot in there. These people don't care about their patients. NEVER AGAIN.

Nate Mix

Very unprofessional poor service The doctor was very disrespectful Need to hire professional doctors

Great hospital and staff

ER staff is extremely rude. No consideration for age of patients. My son, running a 101 fever with cough, has waited over 2 hours only to find out another child has waited for nearly 5. Yet they have let adults in. ADULTS CAN HANDLE PAIN, NOT CHILDREN.

Kong Thao

Been in the ER for 5 hrs only to find out that there is nothing wrong and there going to run more test. Was told from the doctors that it should be 30 minutes until they admit my gramps to a room but its been 2 hrs since than.

This is the slowest worst hospital. No good my 4 yr. Old son is having a asthma attack wheezing coughing out of breath and we been waiting hours. To get seen and they still haven't seen him yet.

Shakeyla Stephens

It's a nice clean hospital with friendly helpful staff

Karl Hillstrom

Our daugher was born here and I had back surgery. We had great experiences both times, you know for a hospital.

Sandra Osei

you tried your very hardest to save Martin Luther King

Andrew Kuduk

Worst hospital in the world. I told them I was severely depressed due to my drug addiction and the issues I was having in general with life. I wasn't there for more than an hour and all the doctor said he could do was give me a bus token and release me back to the streets.

Max Thygeson

One of your RN was extremely abusive and did nothing but harass and insult

I have not been to any other department in the hospital, but their maternity care is top-notch. I had my child there after 26 hours of labor and an emergency cesarean. I was there for 6 days, and I had a private room that was comfortable and didn't feel like a stark and scary hospital. I had 6 people each day to care for me, a nurse and nurse's aide each shift. The staff is knowledgable and supportive. They are very baby-friendly, and my child roomed-in with me. I could order food from the menu 3 times a day, and it was actually quite good. They also had 24 hour visitation. With a long and scary labor like mine, some stress is expected. However, of the MANY nurses who attended me during that long time, I only had one that I did not get along with. Every single other one was like a kind auntie or sister, doing their best to keep me calm and comfortable. One even dimmed the lights and brought in an electric flickering candle for me to focus on and taped a cottonball of lavender oil by my head to soothe me. They never made my husband feel excluded, and he was there with me throughout it all. When a relative arrived in the late-night early-morning for support, they didn't bat an eye. A long labor followed by c-section was my nightmare scenario, and it was what happened. They took that terror and made it better. They understood the fear and addressed it. After my child not only failed to progress, but moved backwards, it was time for surgury. The staff mobilized quickly, and I had two at my head, talking me through it, calming me down and keeping me from panicking. I was offered a medication for sedation if needed, but they explained it would make me forget some of the experience. With these two women and my husband (who they allowed to watch), I did not need it. I'm glad I was alert, as they made the experience a happy one. In my first photo with my baby, curtain still up, as they are still stitching me up, I am smiling. Unlike other hospitals where the whisk the child away after a cesarean, here they let my husband help with the cleaning and measuring, and they brought my son right to me to start nursing and bonding before they even removed my placenta. The most nurturing nurse I could have asked for helped me to hold and position him, and after I was stitched up, we all went to my room, where she offered a wealth of information on how to care for him. There was no separation. This is how it should always be done. If I have another child, I would definitely like to have my same doctor and hospital.

Kat Kinzer

The doctor I saw in the ER for complications with my IUD was a disgusting misogynist. He went against the recommendations of my gynecologist and shamed me for having an IUD. It took me a long time to feel clean again after his pelvic exam, and after 10 hours in the hospital, nothing was resolved. This hospital doesn't even have its own pharmacy, so I had to find a 24hr pharmacy and get on the bus after 10 hours in excruciating pain.

Experience was over 8 years ago. My father was in the ICU/NICU for several days. We ended up losing him. The staff was super professional and nice. They were comfortimg but not overbearing. Honestly they could not have done anything better.

Connie Nich

Mother went in for angioplasty surgery, 24 hours later she has not seen a doctor yet just the nurses. I asked the nurse to help my mother to the bathroom and she informed me she would need to use the bedpan. Rude and totally unacceptable treatment of a elderly person. I can't get a straight answer out of anyone and I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. Still waiting for a reply back from the doctor, 24 HOURS

Haven't ever had luck, but came here again because they have better parking than other hospitals near by. It's 1314 right now and I've been here since 0930. My provider Palomino came in and left for a phone call and stated she'd be back after, but her name keeps being called on the intercom and it's been awhile. My nurse Ben O has checked on me 2x never followed up with my pain. None of my issues have been taken care of and I am still just as uncomfortable as when I arrived. They also kept misdiagnosing gull stones for "gas" for a year, until St. John did an ultra sound. Don't come here folks. I'm going to be paying this deduction so hard and received nothing more than fluids.

Dawn Forseide

I delivered all three of my children there and I have always gone there. I love that hospital and I will recommend it to anyone!

My Mother received the worst care possible there. They took out the IV and left it out for over 24 hours and she was in a state where she could not eat or drink. Nothing like adding dehydration issues to my 90 year old mothers issues we were there for in the first place. Never did get a diagnosis after 6 days. Not well run and no communication between staff. Horrible place to go.

Donna Vang

Is there anything LESS than 2 star that I can choose?! I was at St. Joseph's about a year and a half ago and will never go back. Ever. If I was bleeding to death and St. Joseph's was the nearest hospital, I'd rather bleed it out. Seriously. I was there because of womem-related issues that lasted 10+ days. I went in, in pain (couldn't sit/stand without having abdominal pain). After a 2 hour wait in the ER waiting room, I was finally given a bed. After another 3 hours of laying in their bed with a cold blanket (they're supposed to warm it up for you), the doctor came in and sat next to me. Didn't exam me, no physical contact, nothing. After (literally) 2 minutes of talking to me, he got up, said everything should subside in a day or so and left. I thought he was coming coming back... he never returned. I laid in the bed for another 45-minutes (I honestly think they forgot about me), because no one came to check on me after the so-called "doctor" left. The nurse discharged me and off I went. After 6 hours of being there, I left with no real help except a hefty $950 hospital bill. Yippee me. I actually called and made a complaint. The lady who was in charge of the ER Dept never returned my call. If you're looking for REAL help, St. Joe's ISN'T the place to go to. If you're looking to be ignored for hours on end and have $$$ to burn with no service in return, St. Joseph's your place!!!

My grandfather was in there since the 9th of April. He still not doing well. Doctors and nurse are always poking in on him. Telling us that he had no stool for the last few days. Which is all a lie!! They've overdose him with pain medication and now that he isn't getting better due to their stupidity, and knowledge , my grandfather have fallen ill even more and on a 50/ 50 of life a death situation. They've given him medicines that they don't even know what it is. I've asked so many times of what it is and they tell me they don't know. He has 3 antibodies and they are saying that they have no idea what his infection is. THEY ARE KILLERS!! NO KNOWLEDGE!! WORST HOSPITAL!!! We provide side information about my grandfather and they don't even have it on record and it's been almost a month!! The nurses are the worst. Some are alright others should be fired. They seem to be very races toward other race as well. I hope someone will treat you like that one day!

Best Kidney Stone Clinic I've even been to A+++ I've never been to their Emergency room but have had surgeries there with zero problems or complaints.

Just go somewhere else if you love your dying loved ones.

If I could give this a zero, I would. I was waiting for my mom and her friend in the lobby outside of HealthEast Heart Care. They have a little coffee store and lounge where (I thought) you could go sit down and enjoy your time while waiting for loved ones. I was skimming my iPad for under an hour in the lobby while keeping to myself quietly. I decided to get up and go buy a coffee 50 minutes into my wait. I place my order for two cups of coffee. One for my mother's friend and one for me. As I pay for my coffee, a security personnel sneaks up behind me and starts harassing me right at the coffee store's counter. He (and the employee who reported me) accused me of loitering in their lobby for 2 hours when I had only been there for under an hour -- waiting for my mother and her friend who was getting checked on by a HealthEast Heart Care physician. He starts belittling me by asking me why I'm there, embarrasses me in front of the patrons and staff inside the coffee shop, and stalks me the whole time as I fumble nervously around to find condiments to put in my coffee. After I had proven to him that I was waiting for my mother per HealthEast Heart Care, he just brushes it off like nothing ever happened. He smiles and goes off on his merry way as I sit there in shock. This is an experience I never wish upon anyone.

Brad Lagon

I went to the emergency room with a migraine that had lasted over two weeks. With a history of aneurysms I was concerned. The doctor gave me morphene through my IV line and left. Since nobody took care of it and nobody answered my calls for assistance I had to remove my own IV needle. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! It's a butcher shop!

To all staff at St. Joseph hospital I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the support you provided during my staycation at your hospital. The care and the provision of your services were beyond my expectations. That was amazing, positive experience I have ever experience in my life. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness, professionalism and commitment. With much appreciation Paw Mu kha ❤️

My husband and I have always had excellent care here. Especially cardiac care.

Danielle Dovahsdottir

I went in to the ER after trying for hours to manage severe back pain. I had to wait 5 hours to be seen and when I finally was seen, I overheard the doctor talking about me to his staff saying that everything I said about my symptoms was "red flags" and that essentially I was wasting their time. He came in, wouldn't look me in the face when he spoke to me, and blew off my incredible pain as "normal back pain" here's some drugs, go see your regular doctor, you can go. After 5 hours of waiting to be seen, I got treated like a waste of space and from what I overheard he essentially told his staff I was most likely looking for drugs. Even though I'm the one having to pay for the very expensive trip to the ER. Horrible place, bad treatment, unprofessional. Awful. Do not go here.

Nathaniel Sasikar

Doctors and nurses in the cardio care where very professional, they made the entire experience stress free and seamless. Well coordinated efforts of the entire team . thanks for your service

Tanika Tatum

Went to the ER.I was suffering from acute asthma attack. Sets me in the waiting room for about an half hour which seems to be forever when you can't breathe. In the mean time I see other people come in after me and get seen right away. I guess they where not treating the African American community today. Went to Regions and was immediately treated for the asthma attack.

N Hexum

Their maternity care unit deserves more than these five stars. Great experience! Edit: I am sad to report that they may be shutting down this maternity unit. That's a shame.

Sean Langton

I would rate it lower if i could. If you plan on going in for a mental evaluation or to get into a treatment center, go to Fairview riverside... Was in the psych ward for 2 weeks, a nurse kept putting a catheter in a patient with me in the room with no dividers or anything and when I'd complain about having to see it saying the poor guy deserved privacy and it was really gross to see they still continued to do it every day and morning. when I'd ask for my meds in the morning the overnight nurses would say things like I'm going home I'm not your nurse when you could clearly see your name on their chart and shift change wasn't for like an hour. Was given a release date and when the day came and my ride would leave to pick me up they would tell me they messed up the release date and would cancel wasting about 3 hours of my rides time each time(this happened 3 times, more to other patients) and the doctors would only spend a minute or two with you at a time and would cut you off and walk away from you if you were still talking at the end of that two minutes. Also saw a staff member belittle and threaten someone while pointing his finger into a patients chest and face. I went in to get help for my mental disorder, which they did nothing for because they were only focusing on the CD(which I needed as well) they said I could to outpatient treatment so I could keep my job and my home but decided to change it to a 2-3 month inpatient program that I could not attend because I would have lost my home by the time I got out.

When I was there a had a decent experience there was an outside patio, and they gave us pop and let us watch movies.

Doctor basically refused to treat me. I have cronic ankle pain. And when she came in the room and I was explaining I was constantly cut off and all she was doing was looking for brusing. It's clear she was just trying to get me to leave because when the nurse came In I was complaining so the doctor came back in and asked more questions and it's very clear she didn't listen to a word I said when she came in last time as I had to basically reapeat everything. Go to United Hospital instead. This is a waste of money your going to have some oit of pocket waste of costs regardless just for them not to do anything.

I've been waiting in the ER for 3 hours now. When I first checked in, there were 4 patients waiting ahead of me and after 3 hours I'm finally the next one up but even so it has been over an hour since the last person before me was seen. Last time when my sister came in for severe stomach pain she had to wait for 4 hours before she was seen. Will never come here ever again. Even driving to a suburban hospital would get you seen and treated faster. Don't waste your time here.

Lorraine Humphrey

Dr.Rice has terrible bed-side manners. Very unprofessional

Nelli P

My husband was admitted there for his health issues and I called in to ask some simple questions and whoever I spoke to in the 4500 department was not courteous about me asking and seemed annoyed...

Dana Canham

I am wondering how many of these reviews are real. My husband and I were there a few months ago in the E.R., and he received wonderful care. I also wonder........since people like to complain, how many of you actually said something at the time that the "poor care" was occurring. Like asking for a nursing supervisor, a better explanation, etc. It is much easier to complain on the internet, you get more results when you take control of your own healthcare.

Amber Witkowski

Their staff is extremely unprofessional (the two in mental health that work at the front desk guy and girl mainly.) This hospital has done absolutely nothing to help ANY of their patients in mental health but put them on ANOTHER drug and get them out of there as quick as possible. If you are looking into their inpatient program for mental health or drug related issues DONT. All their staff cares about is getting their job done for the day and clocking out. So sick of no one caring!!

Monique Jefferson

I can't stand the service at St. Joseph's hospital. they never, never, never have enough staff. I was there about 1 and an half weeks ago crying my eyes out and in excruciating pain, because I accidentally slammed my upper spin between the shoulder blades on the edge of a wall and door frame and it's 2 weeks later and I am still in pain. I sat in the waiting room for 4 hours. it was me and two others. the triage nurse checked me in and I told him that I was and still is severe spinal pain. I'm in pain even when I cough or sneeze. it's constant. The only reason I decided on this hospital vs. anyone of the others are because they saved my life more than once. and I thought I had an connection with the hospital, but I am slowly loose it anytime you are number 2 on the list to be seen and yet you still are waiting and also waited four hours at that while other people are coming in to be seen and they go back automatically. Whatttt? St. Joseph's hospital need to get it to together and if you are nasty with people because of your own personal reason's either stay home or find another profession this one isn't for you. Patrons are aggravated and irritated enough from being in pain and waiting for a long time and they don't need crap from the staff. that's my peace.

If I could less then one star I would. I came into th ER with low blood sugar, I'm diabetic. I was feeling very weak physically. A male nurse came in to help me use the rest room. I felt so weak I fell on the floor. My gown needed tying too. My back was to the door and I thought the nurse had left since if he was there he would have helped me up from the floor. He was there the whole time, standing behind me just watching me crying and struggling to get up myself. He didn't even help me tie the gown . Do not go to this ER. They don't get very many people seen there, you'd think the service would be better then a big hospital

Excellent Hospital, I had nice memories with the staff. excellent customer service. Thank you for all you do.

I think St Joseph's Hospital(Saint Paul)is very good hospital and very big medical center in USA

When my dad was diagnosed with melanoma, it quickly escalated to a brain tumor. We rushed to a different local hospital, who told us there was nothing they could do. They were going to let him die. One doctor pulled my mom aside and told her to get an ambulance and go to St. Joseph's. She did, and their neuro team performed emergency brain surgery and saved my dad's life. We received top notch care here, and I will never go to the other hospital again.

John Parkin

I was in their psych ward 5500 April 23rf thru June 4th. I thought their doctor's were too notch and same for the nurse's and psych Tech's. Overall a very good experience.

I received emergency surgery for two bowel blockages. It turned out I had three blockages, the surgeon saw the third but left it, and I had a second surgery 3.5 weeks later at another hospital. I have had nothing but problems since, and that was almost two years ago. The Hospitalist who discharged me gave no instructions as to what I could and could not eat, and as a result, I had additional problems. The only advice I received was a nurse telling me to eat several small meals a day instead of three large ones. Nurses places IVs in my hands and arms incorrectly. I would never return to this hospital. Overdosed with pain killers.

Grossly Understaffed and Level of Care Is Horrendous My father has been admitted to St. Joseph's on three separate occasions with a wide variety of health issues. Each time we have noticed that while most of the nurses are trying their best, they have too many patients to care for and things get missed or overlooked - to a point that feels borderline dangerous. Nurses say they will come back and are never to be seen again. One night we were particularly worried about my father and pushed the nurse call button, no one came for 5 minutes so I had to go in search of someone. The nursing desk was empty and I finally had to track someone down in another patient's room. Another time my father was feeling nauseous, so I had to search for someone to find an emesis bag (something that should just be in the room). Hopefully we won't need to make any return trips to the hospital, but if we do we plan to go elsewhere. They've had three chances now and they've struck out.

Unprofessional and patients are getting there stuff stolen. Beware do not go to this hospital

St. Joe's is great. Good people.

I was admitted in the hospital stayed there for 3 days. It was an ok hospital to stay in I was on the liquid diet so didn't really like the food. The staff was good I really liked the nurse named Brett. He was really fast with changing my i.v when it was itching my skin. I would go there again if I had a choice

I had the worst experience EVER being in a hospital! I had a heart attack and St. John's Hospital transported me to St. Joseph's for treatment. The 3rd floor angiogram, angioplasty and stent placement team is great, so is the doctor; but one bird does not bring the spring! I was discharged after treatment with a prescription that did NOT include my heart medications Imdur, Nitroglycerin, Metroprolol, that is, 3 out of the 4 heart medications I was supposed to be discharged with. In addition, it did not include an acid reflux medication I was supposed to be prescribed! This happened on May 27, 2017. I am still trying to organize getting the meds hoping I will not have another heart attack while waiting! P.S. I did get the Nitroglycerin thanks to a nurse but I am still waiting for a doctor to call in the rest of the meds to the pharmacy!

Horrible. This hospital is the worst. My mother died in this hospital as a result of very, very poor care. Upon arriving at the hospital the nursing staff who were more concerned about gossiping to themselves couldn't even read the nurse's report to be able to tell family what the patients condition was.....it took the nurses an entire hour just to get to us after we insisted to talk to them regarding our mom's condition. We were yelled at by staff. We were hung up on repeatedly on the phone and laughed at. When we went to visit, our mom was in filthy condition, unbathed. She had cut marks on her wrists. We asked why she had cut marks. We were told that the cut marks came from restraints???? She is only 4'11 and 90 lbs....why would you need to restrain an 80 year old lady??? She was treated horribley, including being inhumanely restrained down after surgery because she was trying to remove breathing tubes from her airway. She was restrained, medicated and then we were told that she had no brain activity? When we asked for evidence that this was so....we couldn't get a response except, "Well, she is not breathing on her own?" Well when she tried to breath on her own they restrained her....next they said without having any data to support this, they said they were going to pull all life support.....well they did and my mom started to breath on her own and then without a Dr.'s order they gave her a large dose of morphine which slowed her heartrate to such a low point, her body just stopped after 45 minutes.....(complaint has been filed to the medical examiners office on this ) PLEASE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY, DO NOT LET THIS HOSPITAL CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES....THEY OPERATE LIKE A FACTORY ASSEMBLY LINE...there is no love, concern, or morality...

I go to the infusion center 3x a week and I have to say that the nurse's there are very nice and care about you so much I would never go anywhere else they are so nice and caring about how you are doing and how you are feeling thank you so much for everything that you guys do for me and everyone that comes here

David Desrosiers

Care was pretty good from doctor. Nurses- some cared and helpful some never shown interest in my care and hard get them to do stuff. Food was okay, but messed up order lots. Long time discharged. But lost my necklace and won't pay for it... Because was locked up even, but somehow lost or stolen from er to different floor. Care coordinator didn't help at all. Had file police report. Was never like this before family all went there through years. Never again now.

Boyfriend felt like he had strep and had a 102 degree fever. Went to the ER at around 11 am. Ended up waiting in the ER waiting room until 3 pm!! Went to a different hospital the next day and sure enough he had strep. Don't go to this hospital unless you really enjoy waiting around for hours and hours to get absolutely no help at all.

St Joes chemical dependency inpatient & outpatient programs are amazing! Their inpatient Subutex & outpatient Suboxone programs have literary saved my life, my sister & my sister in laws lives. Opiate addiction is a soul sucking loop but can be overcome with the help of these people I swear to you.

I'm not even going give it 1 single star rating this hospital at all because it does not deserve anything at all. It's a horrible mess with this killing manslaughter facility. It has always been well known to most people that this hospital does nothing but tries to murder patients who are innocent. Two days ago, while my father is hospitalized there they purposely overdose my father with unknown medication. I will for sure will find an attorney and sue and your staffs who has done nothing to improve my father's health and even purposely and are aware of the medication you have overdosed him.... Every time I call my mother, all I hear is my father's health is deteriorating every day of the moment. I will make sure the facility will fall and not rise. Let hell burn all your asses down so there will be no more killers and murderers.

I have used the Emergency Dept. twice in the past few months and was an inpatient for three days. I waited a long time in the ED and I am sure that was only because there were people using the ED for non-urgent matters, as I am sure there were people with more urgent needs than mine. I received very good, comprehensive care, both inpatient and outpatient. My parents both used this hospital and also received very good care, as did my brother recently.

mike stubbs

You know things are bad when St. Joe's staff have to create Google accounts just to improve their overall rating, GET YOUR S TOGETHER PEOPLE, YOUR HOSPITAL SUCKS! Have dealt with their CD and Psych unit as my brother was in both, they treated him like crap. He was so ill after 20 days inside the impatient CD unit that he could not get out of bed, they threatened to kick him out instead of trying to figure out what the problem was. He was literally too sick to stand up and there were staff coming in there every 15 minutes to berate him, really?? I've been in the military and received more compassion there than he did inside of a hospital. This place needs to be closed down, the psych unit was a little better but the same useless doctors that were down in CD came up to psych. My God....

They took excellent care of my mom

Beyond disappointed with my moms nurse! Kathryn on the 4th floor. My mom had a heart attack. We drove two hours to get here. I asked her for a note for my child's school She said they should be at school. No note! She was very rude!!! And should keep her rude opinion to herself! We all are going through hard times n its really sad to have a very rude nurse treat people that way! I'm so disgusted!

I was at this hospital for almost 7 hours and only 5 minutes of which was spent with the doctor. I never had a consistent nurse and they hardly told me any information or what to do about my condition even after I asked questions. I was prescribed something I didn't know anything about and when I asked the nurse what it was and how it would affect me she had no answers. Disappointed is an understatement.

Merry Yang

Horrible treatment to the family members of the patient. The use of words are unprofessional and unthoughtful. Nurse Dorothy is rude and a horrible person. She belittles others and thinks nothing of her coworkers/staff and patients. Blabbering and causing disruptions when it can be dealt respectfully and professionally. Most definitely not fitting of a nurse.

I have had Degnerative joint and disc disease and 2 cervical herniated discs for 25 yrs. They have been very painful off and on, and I have used integrated therapies for most years (acupuncture, chiropractic, ice, heat, homeopathy). It had finally reached its worst when I was starting to lose my balance, and having more pain than usual. I went to 4 orthopedic doctors for consultation. They all wanted to do an anterior 4 level fusion, which would be through the front of my neck, and cause permanent loss of rotation of my neck. Being in the medical field, I "ran from them", as I was not satisfied with their "standard" answers that fit everyone. I heard about Dr Dunn, she saw me right away after I sent her my MRI, and did my surgery: a 5 level laminoplasty (open door procedure), foraminotomy to clean out severe stenosis, both of which opened up the space where everything was inflammed . I have COMPLETE range of motion of my neck and the pain is gone. Prognosis is to stop further deterioration of the joints and eliminate pain. Success. I think she is GREAT! A good listener, warm, friendly and funny too. Thank you Dr. Dunn. Sue Miller, RN

Horrible!!! Was advised by community health worker to take young woman to St. Joe’s ER to be assessed by MH team, then admitted to psych unit for stabilization before transfer to CD program. There was no MH team. Social worker came in with a very defensive attitude, leaned against door as far away from us as she could be, arms folded. She shamed me to even think this was the process. She said they NEVER admit to psych through ER. She said the PT first had to get a Rule 25 (for Mental Health???? – I don’t think so.) The SW then said maybe she (PT) had to hit bottom first – what about homelessness, admitting a problem, asking for help and having a psychotic episode isn’t hitting bottom? When I said that I couldn’t take any more time off work to make an appointment, the SW said “She can do it herself – she’s an adult!!!” PT didn’t know what year it was, couldn’t take care of herself and was having delusions. When I asked SW where the empathy was, she rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. I will do everything I can to discourage anyone from going to this hospital – just horrible!!!

The worst hospital I have ever been to. Waited over 3 hours to see a doctor after being put in a room. had to beat on the door to get a nurse to even respond. Then had to argue , beg and plead to see a dr. over 12 hours later still in emergency room with very little care given . Had to ask the janitor for a blanket because the nurses are nonexistant . DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVE ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL . THIS HOSPITAL IS LIKE A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY HOSPITAL AVOID IF YOU CAN

Some nurses were good, others were horrible. Nurses said all their equipment is broken; tables for bedside don't move right and are too heavy for patience to move, broken, chairs are broken, springs are are sprung in them, nurse told me they had no ice, no one to get clean sheets. One nurse told me she wasn't going to help me get up to go to the bathroom because she would hurt herself. There is no modern equipment to help patients get up. Terrible.

One of the worst hospitals I've ever been too and im from Chicago. I waited almost 5 hours in the emergency room with the same 3 ppl and 2 other ppl who were waiting on other ppl. I've never waited that long while in Chicago. One lady I was there before went before me but I didnt complain. After that I was told 4 ppl will be getting discharged soon and that 2 ppl were ahead of me. I saw 2 ppl get discharged and one of the 2 ladies that were ahead of me left to go to another hospital. Some how I still waited another 2 hours. They told me how sorry their were for the wait and how one employer went home sick. I dont understand how one person leaving effects the wait time when the whole time ppl were standing around laughing and talking the whole like they had nothing to do. So I wonder was it a doctor that got sick or a nurse or the person who cleans the rooms. Idk I was in sooo much and had been for 3 days that I didnt have the energy to be angry. I would give them one star but I gave them two because everyone was pleasant but lazy and the doctor was nice and finally got the pain to stop. Also my nurse was suppose to give me 4 pain pills but only gave me 3 because one dropped on the floor when she opened it. When asked if I would get my 4th pain pill she said she already gave it to me and when I explained to they she didnt she gave me my 4th pain pill. It was just a weird situation. I just really think this hospital needs more cross training, structure and supervision. No way that 4 ppl in a emergency room should take 5 hours to be seen. If there is an issue that would make the wait longer at least keep the ppl informed dont just act as if you are on break and talk with the security guards, paramedics and your other coworkers.

HandiMedical

The 5th floor ICU team gives wonderful care. They kept us informed, were considerate, professional and respectful.

ER wait times are horrendous and they have Russian nurses on the psych unit.. but I was in the psych unit so me being freaked out by a Russian nurse was probably a temporary state of mind

Bambi Watson

It's usually a pretty awesome hospital, but they aren't very friendly to homeless people and hospitals should treat all people the same

Rebecca Ryan

Wouldn't go again if my life depends on it

Lori Germscheid

My father was the patient. We had a very good experience in the ER. The doctor was a woman with longer curly hair. She didnt have the best bed side manner but the other doctor ( who I believe was the main Hospitalist. Shorter guy with brown hair. ) was great. He explained everything and he was kind to my dad. The RN that helped him outshined every one of them!! This guy was so nice, caring , and always explained everything. His name was Jeremy. Remember that name!! When we got to the floor, thats when it went down hill!! Horrible nursing assistants and horrible nurses on the cardiac floor as well as the 3rd floor med surg. I wanted my dad out of there!!

Abe El Manssouri

Anybody that has something negative to say about this hospital has serious serious issues..go take your meds. I have never been in such a beautiful hospital in all my life on this earth. God's presence is here so much peace, love and happiness is here. From the time I pulled up to the valet parking that cost 5 bucks to the wonderful surgical center. I was well cared for..my friend that came with me kept smiling and commenting I love this place. We are hard to please people who don't eat out at any restaurants because we see the problems from miles away and our woman's intuition is on point. Paz the nurse and shannon and all yall there thank you. Thank you to stephanie and the other young lady who was so helpful..the list goes on..you guys rock! May god bless you and keep you!
