Extremely pleased with the level of care, breadth of specialties on staff, excellent nursing staff who really know what they're doing, and infusion center scheduling staff for being so willing to accommodate and be helpful.

I work at an adult day program where we assist our elderly members with maintaining their appointments. One patient was unsure of her appointment information and I reached out to the call center to verify this information. Julianna was the representative I regrettably spoke with and she was immediately cold, rude and insensitive. The member did not remember her date of birth (due to her mental health condition) and when I told Julianna this, she mocked the situation by repeating back, "She doesn't know her date of birth?" I was stunned by her blatant disregard for compassion and complete absence of professionalism. Needless to say, if this woman represents the clinic in any way, we will no longer be inclined to book appointments here.

Johnna Coffing

I had surgery today and everyone from the front desk check in to the lady who wheeled me out after surgery were amazing. All around great experience.

Memo Ugurbil

They are sloppy sometimes. Also really busy. Very good care thou.

Smooth check in process. Friendly staff. They are prompt so be on time for your appointment.

It’s a nice building but the infrastructure is unprepared for the amount of people who use the building. You can only valet park which means there’s a huge line of people trying to get into the line for valet parking. There’s never enough valet parking people to resolve the backup. Once you get in the building there’s always a line to get to the elevators.

A couple reasons for low score. one is parking. The lot is a block away from the clinic. It's also in a very busy area. Right in the heart of stadium village neighborhood and traffic is horrible. I could possibly overlook it if they had good doctors and service. I saw 2 very knowledgeable doctors. Both however made me feel like they wanted to get me in and out as quickly as possible. I had a really hard time asking questions as the Dr's gave me speeches and did not seem to want to listen to my questions or comments. I am shopping for another clinic as the U of M is stuffy and has a very corporate cold feeling to it.

Brigid Mary O'Connor

Continuity of care is extremely important to me, and Dr. Sam Levine, Sarah, Chelsi Dodd and the other Audiology Staff are magnificent! I would recommend U of M's ENT Clinic to anyone. Humor abounds and that is also very important to me. Been seen by ENT since late 80s. Could not imagine any other provider!

Mark

Absolutely amazing care by doctor smith. First orthopedic I met who was obviously knowledgeable and extremely caring.

Medical care is high level. But time-consuming delays of information are common, frustrating, massively time-consuming, and should be unnecessary by now. This is because of incomplete or fuzzy communication and poor followup at various clinics. It becomes the patient's responsibility to go back and connect the dots -- an inappropriate shift of labor. . Advice to patients: before leaving your clinic visit, be sure to 1) get a printed after visit summary, 2) get all your questions answered sufficiently, 3) get a phone number for the nurse you can contact if you have to, 4) request they give you confirmation that various tasks that need to be done are done. Well-meaning staff will offer to call you back on an issue that needs attention but beware of phone tag. Communicating through MyChart is a good option but only if you get a timely reply. Schedulers may be gone in the late afternoon, so be sure to find someone to make any necessary follow up appointments before you leave the clinic. The phone listings are more difficult to access than when the clinics were in PWB. Staff is earnest and courteous. But the system has ongoing problems that may impact their performance.

Zeke Cato

Excellent, friendly, and attentive staff. Inexpensive valet parking services make coming here easy.

Sheree Pechacek

As a long time employee of the UMN (nurse of 10 years) I have to say I am very disappointed in how this clinic is handling my case. I was just newly diagnosed with an auto-immune disease and was referred to the UMN Clinic and Surgery Center Rheumatology department. Not only has the referral department from my primary care facility called multiple times on my behalf I too have called. On both occasions where I have called I was always told someone will call me back to see what is going on and the call never comes. I am scared and frustrated how I can be treated this way. It has now been over a month that I was diagnosed and I still cant get anyone to call me. If this is what is happening to my patients then it makes me truly sad to be apart of the Fairview system.

Pastor Phillip Dailey

Very modern, well designed, excellant planning and run efficiently, maybe a little too much sometimes. The valet parking service is nice and cost effective at only $6. **But if you tip make sure you are giving it to the person who is actually ** and driving your RUNNING AND DRIVING YOUR VEHICLE**, not the person handling your keys and pocketing the tips. But the service is faster than the ramps and not much more than meters. The green FOB system they give you is probably a big deal if you come at busier times or are moving throughout the building. But I've never needed it so far and so it's just been a "meah, okay." They of course want a survey each and every time like every doctor. It's long and on an iPad. Too long, since I doubt they really read through all of it... each time. But I don't know, maybe they do. Overall, I would give it: 4.6/ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

UPDATE: April 1, 2016 Update: The operations manager reached out to me and described all the changes that are being made to address my concerns about the lack of autonomy and anonymity provided for visitors like me who do not want the high-touch aspect of an Apple Store from my medical provider. Looking forward to seeing the changes during my next visit. Thank you, operations manager! ORIGINAL REVIEW POSTED 3/3/2016: The staff at this new location seemed to be overwhelmed with the high volume of first-time visitors since it's only been open for 2 weeks. I want more self-service options PLEASE! Instead of a easy-to-locate clinic directory and way-finding signs, they have people greeting you and walking you to a clinic. I like that receptionists are no longer sitting behind a desk ignoring me while chatting with coworkers. Instead, people are walking around the clinic's lobby with tablets to check you in electronically. These people are very perky by the way, much happier to be there than I was. The clinic I went to needs a sign directing you back to the lobby after you have seen a healthcare professional. I'm not a fan of the new patient lockers that require setting your own 4 digit code to lock it. The old ones that gave you a key with the locker number printed on it, didn't just work better, they actually worked. One patient was walking around the clinic in a hospital gown looking for their clothes and locker cuz they forgot their locker location and combo. Bypassing the user-set code requires a phone call to get tech support and a tech's visit. No extra charge for the valet-only parking lot (no more self-service). I parked at a meter to avoid it. Too bad I have little confidence that the U will actually make things better by listening to the feedback from so many first-time visitors. Usually, the feedback just trickles in from first-time visitors, making is super easy for the AHC/UMN to ignore it. I rate my chances at 0% that someone from this new building will actually contact me. I shared my concerns with a manager, and have no confidence anything will come of my suggestions.

Sat in a room for over 8 hours for 2 tests. The last almost 5 hours was waiting for a doctor to come and talk about the results of a CT scan done right away in the morning... He never showed up the nurses didn't even know where he was. He's supposed to call tonight with results but I doubt he will. But if by some off chance he does, he's going to hear it.

If I could give 0 star for this hospital, I would. My mother had been seen by Abby I. Metzler, MD for chronic migraine. The Dr ordered for an MRI a month ago and we still haven't heard from them. We have called multiple times to find out the result and what we have to do next, but no response from the Dr and the clinic. This is unacceptable. I personally have experienced horrible care from this place.

New M Health building is nice. The pagers they give you while you are waiting for Lab-work are way too loud

I had a procedure with Dr. Eugenia Shmidt in the endoscopy and surgery center and she was fantastic. Great technically, great communicator, and great bedside manner. Her staff was excellent and I can't say enough good things about Dani, Cathy, Amy, and everyone else in the 909 Fulton 5th floor center.

The building looks nice and I think that is where my compliments stop. I pull up to the valet and its a long line just to get in there. Whomever did the building plans did not make proper accommodations for the amount of cars that pass through there. Traffic is a nightmare around this place. I finally get to the floor I'm looking for and there is a long line all the back to the elevators just to check in. They don't have traditional desks but more of these kiosk stations where someone with a Ipad will check you in. For the amount of people lining up, I believe there were 3 people to perform that function. I have a seat as directed and it takes over an hour to be called back for an appointment. When I complain to the nurse, she said that they only have so many rooms to use and they have too many Dr's. working to accommodate all of the patients and they do not have enough staff to work with all of the Dr's. From the looks of things, I believe this to be a true statement. Please keep in mind that it already took 6 weeks just to get an appointment. Then I go back in the exam room thinking that I would meet the Dr. No, guess again. I am greeted by the resident, the fellow. I tell my story and then the Dr comes in and I have to repeat my story yet again. I was not asked about any resident, student, fellow etc. This information should have been explained when booking the appointment. The Dr ordered labs and imaging. I find that floor and guess what, its another long line out the doors just to have these simple tests done. I believe that this place is very poorly ran. The concept may be great but it proves to be a total mess in reality. A follow up appointment was recommended and I was given a far out date. That was absolutely the last straw for me! I called another healthcare system where the phone was answered promptly, and my appointment was scheduled in less than a week. Run far and as fast as you can from this system. It is a complete nightmare. Long wait times on the phone to schedule, long wait times to get in for an appointment, long wait times to be called back to see the Dr., long wait times to have testing done, long wait times just to valet your car. I can't honestly say that anything was expedited here. What a joke!

Fox Strife

Very friendly staff and people who took the time to answer every question I had about anything I needed. Glad I started to come for my neurology needs only problem I had is parking spots are hard as heck to find so either plan ahead for some time to find a spot otherwise there is no flaws at all

Went today for xray and new cast to be put on Dr supki and Sarah where very nice wait time maybe 20 mins I would be happy to come back here any time and the two lady's that greet you when you first come to check in very nice and helpful thank you great sports doctor

Madison Stangl

Here's the thing about the CSC: It's spacious, clean, and bright. The front end staff are always kind, but can sometimes get overwhelmed when a lot of patients check in on the hour. One thing you will have to know is that you WILL be waiting. You'll be waiting because the system wants these doctors to rush your appointments, but they cannot, and they will not. Most of the clinics in this place are specialty, and they really make sure that you have more than 30 seconds with your doctor. The system is busted, but the doctors, nurses, CMAs, and concierge staff are not. They care about you, and will take extra time to make sure you're good. Which is why you are left waiting. If me waiting an extra twenty minutes each time means I get to leave with a better peace of mind, so be it. They are all worth the wait.

The clinics are hit or miss. I have received some of the best care of my life at the Endocrinology clinic. Dr. Lisa Chow is a phenomenal doctor. It's really a top notch clinic. I've used pain management and dermatology as well, and they are good; I've received the right diagnoses and been given lots of treatment options, with the doctors working with me to figure out the best for me. Care coordination between clinics is generally great, pharmacy, cafe, refreshment stations, and lab on-site make service convenient. Parking options are lacking. If you're low-income, expect to find limited free parking options. The Gastroenterology clinic provided some of the worst care I've ever received in my life, by multiple doctors. If you're a fat patient, I would skip this clinic unless you want to experience weight-biased medical care. They are partnered with the weight management clinic so they are primarily concerned with pushing ineffective or mutilating weight loss solutions instead of listening to your needs as a patient and what motivates you toward healthy changes. Their primary concern is not what you came in for, but that you're fat, and they'd like you not to be. No doctors could make me want to take care of myself less than the ones I've seen here.

Jennifer Denny

They let me sleep while I was waiting for my dad's appointment

Would give 0 stars if I could...the facility itself is modern & new, but that's where the positive remarks end. Parking is a mess, facility is unorganized, and the doctor (that I saw) was rude, condescending, and acted as though my concern wasn't important enough for him to be bothered with. Major disappointment. Will not be back. Have already started spreading the word to others to steer clear.

I saw Dr Eric Waldron in neuropsychology for help with my memory issues. I have never been treated so poorly by a provider. He was very arrogant to start with, and showed literally no concern for my needs. In fact he was not interested in helping me at all. He gives poor communication and made me feel as if I was a bother to talk to. I will never return to the U of M clinic system again. I left feeling humiliated to say the least. There are many Neuropsychologists in the cities. My advice is to bypass Dr Eric Waldron at all cost.

Like it was said in the one of the reviews below, this place is a hit or a miss. I hade some days where I experienced smooth visits, and others where the wait is dreadful at the check in line, at the waiting area and in the consultation room waiting for the doctor to see you. In one specific visit, I waited out, in the waiting area, one hour past my scheduled appointment time and nobody would tell me that my appointment was pushed back. You could do yourself an awesome favor and select an early morning appontment time, otherwise you're in for a freaking big surprise; bigger than the traffic morning you're probably worried about. The place has some great doctors who could really help you, but there is a long wait to get in to see them , 3 months + with some specialists . The other ones will try to milk as much money as they can with unnecessary labs, referrals, pictures...which is another story for another topic about healthcare scam.

Trying to schedule an appointment with M Health (formerly Health East) is a horrible experience. It was awful with Health East and there is no change. It has taken me as long as 10 minutes to talk with the Call Center to arrange an appointment.

Medical stuff here are super nice, friendly and professional. Sometimes I feel like they care about my health more than I do. I had a striped knee injury few months ago, and the physical therapy services help me with that . Very convenient parking nearby the hospital.

Checking in is a hassle because they do not have a reception desk. You have to find someone wondering around with a tablet. In the early days these people did not wear uniforms (I don’t know if they do now) so you didn't know if it was another patient or a staff member. Also, you're talking publicly out in the open about potentially sensitive information with anyone in ear shot to hear. When you leave and you need to schedule a follow up appointment you are directed to a cubicle like area. Again, no privacy. When I was checking in for my first round of visits, they didn't have the system up so that I could pay my copay, and then on the 4th visit when it was up and running the woman that checked me in didn't have her password so I couldn't pay it then either. Come a few months later I get a bill for 300+ dollars demanding to be paid immediately. When I was finally called in, you're ushered into another obnoxiously public area where they get your vitals and weight you. The only thing separating you from the 'room' next to you is a thin curtain. When you actually see a doctor you get a real room with a real door. The doctor/PA I saw during my first visit completely ignored my thoughts and concerns about being overweight and how I wanted to manage it. I figured this was a one off situation, not all doctors are rude and uncaring, right? Wrong. At my own insistence I was referred to an endo doc because I was worried about being diabetic (again, I MADE THEM refer my to an endo doc, they didn't want to. Type 2 diabetes and obesity go hand in hand, why would a weight management doctor not be concerned about this?). When I come back for my visit with the endo doc I was put in a room and the nurse made a big deal about what chair I was sitting in and that it was 'not the right size' for me. She then proceeded to find a bench seat for me. This was an absolutely humiliating experience. Not only that, but my doc was 20 MINUTES LATE for a 30 minute appt. The nurses told me she wasn't even in the building and they couldn't get a hold of her. When she finally arrived and told her I was concerned about being diabetic. She totally shot me down. She proceeded to prescribe me meds that I told her I didn't want to take because of the side effects and sent me on my way. I canceled all my follow up appointments, because frankly, I gave up. They didn't listen, and didn't seem to care. I HAVE TO go back here because I need to see a specific type of a specialist. I got the proper referral from my PCP and called CSC to make an appointment. I was on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes (8th in line) before someone got around to answering my call only to find out that this general appointment line doesn't make appointments for the clinic I need. Why have a general appointment line that can't make appointments for the clinics in that building? I was transferred to the correct clinic only to be on hold for another 30 minutes (2nd in line). Someone finally picked up, I told them my issue, what I needed, etc. and they told me they had no idea which doctor I should be seeing. They then put my on another 15 minutes hold so they could go ask the nurses. They told me the nurses didn't know either. He told me he would look into it and call me the next day. Never did so I went to a different clinic. Well that clinic tells me I HAVE to go to CSC for the specialist I need. I told them everything that happened and they said they would send a message directly to the doctor I need and to their nurse. I don't think all the doctors/nurses/staff here are bad, but how they structured this building and how they manage patients makes you feel like cattle. I would sooner see this building demolished then go back, but I'm forced to go here again.

My low score is due to the way they handle reception, check in and follow up at this entire building. I've been going there fairly regularly since this building opened. There is no reception for each area. You find the "floating" personnel with ipads to check in, then wait in the approximate area of your appointment. Once in the patient room, they should be able to find you due to the e-tags each visitor wears, but this is not fool-proof, as we've been "lost" at least once by that system. After your appt, if there is any follow-up to be done--instructions, more appointments, etc, you have to find personnel in "pods" (anonymous workstations that they all use) to help you. Generally, you end up spending way more time than with the old reception-style check in and follow up. Most of it is spent searching for their floating personnel.

In every way, I had an excellent experience with my first and second visits. While I hope to visit less often (staying healthy as an average state of being), I would know one less concern, if/when I am ill enough to need help, is how I may be greeted and cared for at MHealth.

Emily Haeg

Called to schedule a simple strep test, explained I'm new to the area. According the the person I spoke to, there's a policy not accepting new clients without a special designated appointment, which I would have to wait at least two weeks for. The man was unhelpful and unapologetic. Seems odd to me that they'd create barriers to medial treatment, instead of simplifying it.

The care I’ve received has been fine. Currently it’s thirty minutes past my appointment time. Even though I was given a green tracker, apparently that person failed to check me in. I’ve been checked in for ten minutes now and I fear I’ll be here for another half an hour before I am seen. At that point, it will be one hour past my scheduled appointment. Now I’ll miss another appointment I have early this afternoon. The care could be phenomenal but if the basic communications between patient and provider crumble, the level of care is moot. Update11:49 am: It is almost one hour past my appointment time. The nurse has taken my vitals and has sent me back to the lobby because there are no open rooms. Scheduling at this location is clearly an issue.

This clinic (orthopedic) claims to be state of the art and a place where patients will find a smooth flow from intake, to meeting with the doctor, to using their valet service. All i can say is that this is a place that patients in chronic pain come to languish in pain. Its very difficult, if not impossible to get timely appointments and this leaves many of us to deal with severe and chronic pain on our own. Try to get any appointment sooner than 3 weeks out and i wish you good luck. I had an MRI and was told i would get the results within two days but the doctor did not assess the results until weeks later when i sat down with him in an appointment that he spent all of 5 minutes on even though i waited well over an hour to see him. Then i had to wait another three weeks to actually begin any form of treatment. Every day i am crying my eyes out in pain. But hey, why hurry if its not life threatening? Who cares how much agony you're in or how disabled this pain makes you? Nevermind that it interferes with every aspect of your life. I saw an elderly woman in the waiting room begging for help with the pain in her hip. Tears were dripping off her chin splashing off her shirt. But they told her to come back in 4 days because that's when her appointment is. They didn't refer her to another clinic. They didn't offer her any help for the obvious pain she was in. No, they sent her home to wait. It was disgusting to watch. To hell with this place. I am going elsewhere to a clinic that only takes in as many people as they can treat in a reasonable time frame. I am talking specifically about the orthopedic clinic. They are not only a disgrace but also a fine example of outdated heartlessness. Update: i turned to a different clinic and i am so very glad i did! I was scheduled for an appointment within a week. I have already had one (non invasive) treatment and the relief is amazing. I am sorry that i wasted my time at the UofM orthopedic clinic.

Worst nurses ever in post-op surgery. The nurses we experienced in Post-op were among the worst we had ever experienced. They were not only non-compassionate, which I would assume would be a requirement for nursing, but downright rude. They actually told my daughter to stop asking about how her surgery went. Unbelievable. Terrible. We intend on filing a formal complaint. Even the Doctor was perplexed at how they were treating her. It ruined our entire opinion of the U of M. If, in fact you don't mind being rushed and talked down to, come here. If you value humanity, kindness, and respect, don't end up here. It is even allowed to give dirty looks and gawking at a patient. In a hospital setting where people come in many different circumstances, it should be a place of safety, kindness, respect and dignity. This kind of behavior from nurses, should not be tolerated.

I always thought the U of M health center was a fine institution but never had a first-hand experience until recently. It is indeed a very fine health center. What I wish could be done differently is the "time". It appears any kind of appointments, treatments, etc. getting dragged out with appointment over appointments. It should be more "result" oriented, instead of "process" oriented.
