All of the nurses and doctors at the St. Cloud ER were so phenomenal, I cannot even express in words my gratitude for each and every one of them. I was astonished at how quickly things got done and how many people helped me be comfortable and get to the bottom of a situation. So amazing.

My dad raves about Dr Kennedy! He had his 5th back surgery today and Dr Kennedy did today's and the one before. I'm sure my dad will ask for him again. (But let's hope not.) He is wonderful. Excellent bedside manner and just a very nice man. He gave my dad's life back. AND not to mention the staff at St Cloud Hospital are fabulous!

I have been waiting for two hours in their ER and still have not been seen. I would be better off driver to Monticello. On top of that there is an elderly couple that have not been seen either and they have been here longer then me.

I think there might be 2 people with redeemable qualities in this place. The way they are treating my mother like she is a drug seeker while she is currently admitted there is appalling and obscene. Her fiance is currently looking to take the nurse who accused her of this to court as soon as possible.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Brought my wife in and waited over 3 hrs in the waiting room. Also, few years ago I was brought in by ambulance for my back. I had hurt it and passed out from the pain. They ran all kinds of tests on me and never once checked my back. After three hours on a bed, they said you can go home now. I asked them how they knew I could even walk... they brought me a wheelchair.

The doctors there made my grandson brain dead after coming out of a seizure which had happened before they put him in an induced coma and left him there until he was brain damaged. I lost the most precious little boy that day and I'll never forgive them for it they have horrible doctors there

I had a terrific surgeon and team that performed the nissen fundoplication and hiatel hernia repair. Ever so grateful for their expertise and care. The post op staff were so very helpful and also professional. I encountered nothing but wonderful people helping me through this surgical procedure. Prior to the surgery I had an upper endoscopy done. The GI doc and team were professional, excellent. I would recommend this medical center!

The wait times are way to high and 3 people who came in after me and my 8 year old son were seen first that's wrong when children are in extreme pain

Disrespectful. Long wait time. Unprofessional

The staff that helped us last night were amazing!! I had a pretty scary experience but they got me in right away. They were very sweet to my 3 year boy who was scared for Mom & let my husband know where I was every step of the way.

Nonconvulsive Status Epilepticus This term is used to describe long or repeated absence or complex partial seizures. The person may be confused or not fully aware of what is going on, but they are not 'unconscious', like in a tonic clonic seizure. These situations can be harder to recognize than convulsive seizures. Symptoms are more subtle and it's hard to tell seizure symptoms from the recovery period. There is no consistent time-frame on when these seizures are called an emergency. It depends in part on how long a person's typical seizures are and how often they occur. When nonconvulsive status epilepticus occurs or is suspected, emergency medical treatment in a hospital setting is needed. EEG testing may be needed to confirm the diagnosis first. People with this type of status are also at risk for convulsive status epilepticus, thus quick treatment is required. My son waited in the ER for more than 2 hours while being told he'd be next. I seen cold/flu symptoms and lower back pain prioritized over him. This is not the first time this has happened. After 2 hours he walked out. We had no car so I began walking with him. He collapsed into a tonic clinic seizure along the road. I was able to get him home and treat him with an emergency dose of medicine and then get a prescription for him from his own doctor later. I lost one son to this genetic disease. I hoped the ER would be someplace to go for help. I guess they need more training about nuerological diseases and what constitutes an emergency! Yes, I'm still upset!

Got me in right away. Friendly doctor and nurses.

Dr. Adam Shapin was talking to fast and wouldn’t come up for a breath to listen to my concerns. I came in for a completely different reason than the diagnosis on my discharge paper. Dr. Would not listen to me. He also was checking his watch while talking to me acting disinterested.

I have a renewed respect and admiration for the employees of the St. Cloud Hospital, the volunteers, transporters, the PCA's, nurses, and others. From the young woman who combed my hair, to the grad student who stopped by on his time off to say hi, the nurses who offered encouragement, the diabetes educator, physical therapy staff and all who assisted in my care. These individuals don't just have jobs, they have caring, kindness and compassion, they aren't in these positions to win; they are in it for life and healing. Words are inadequate, however they are all I have - THANK YOU! - Theresa Bernett - St. cloud, MN

The facility is enormous yet still has beautiful ambiance. The staff I encountered were good-natured and helpful. They have ample space for every consideration, from comfy visitor lounges to an extensive gift shop, on site restaurant, to info desks in each ward. Visitors are held in high esteem. Overall, quite impressed. And if you need to stay overnight, do NOT hesitate to call up the guest house across the street. BEAUTIFUL and QUIET. and CHEAP!

take a notebook with you, keep track of all the pills they give you,and what nurses are taking care of you.95 percent of the nurses are great, the other 5 percent leave alot to be desired.you could know what pills you take, and when, because this can be mixed up.my stay in oct. 2017 resulted incorrect dosing of medication, and one nurse, who didnt follow the surgeons instructions.call the number on the patient care board in your room,if you have problems.the notebook is for your records, getting answers on billing,or other records,is like pulling teeth.its too bad,its basically a really good hospital.the actions of some of the staff, are the reason for this post

Unreal!!!!Need to hire professional's.

Go to St. Mary's in Rochester...period.I'm sure some people that work here (St Cloud) have empathy. Some of them don't seem to care about anything but talking on the phone. Been waiting in the ER for ever rolling around on the waiting room lobby floor crying in agony and NO ONE comes over to comfort my wife or give her a blanket. I guess there's no vacancy. I could have driven to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I would be in a room. 2 hours and 40 min drive 20 min wait private room.. Priceless. What's going on here. Make sure you don't get hurt or sick after 4 pm or you will end up waiting more than 3 hours.. Finally get a room. They do there thing. Exams tests bags of I.V. solution spent the night. Sent home (By Rochester). The next day we were back in the hospital again but now in Rochester. They said she was having cardiac anomalies at the same time we were in St. Cloud. We repeatedly told them that she waa a heart patient. The diagnosis is VENTRICULAR TACHYCARDIA while in the St. Cloud emergency room. If you value good healthcare go to the Med city

My toddler was having an asthma attack and struggling to breathe and I still ended up waiting 1-2 hours to be seen.

Ariel Evenson-Starr

Rude very very rude. I called and was treated like I was an idiot.... because I asked if they had an oral surgeon... mind you the cities has hospitals that have on call oral surgeons.... so I thought I'd call and see but apparently it's ok to be rude to someone for asking a question.

I have been sitting in the ER with my child for over 7 HOURS. She is yet to see the doctor. We have been here since 2:00 and are currently still waiting. It has surpassed the time I was told we should expect to wait yet I still have no idea when we will see a doctor. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

Excellent and professional service. Thanks

I was a patient therefor a 5 day procedure, my experience was excellent I found every nurse on the neurology floor.to be knowledgeable, and dedicated to her patients. There now is a plethora of work on a computer, they are used for everything from medications to data in a report of my progress. Most amazing was the food, it was pretty darn good!

The anesthesiologist was a rude impatient man. The hospital is nice tho between layout and parking, it's a cluster. Some staff was very attentive, alert, and very accommodating whereas others were stuck on personal agenda and chit chat instead of professional compassionate care... some very good nurses and doctors that I'm grateful for, but overall still dissatisfied with the professionalism and that certain things were not handled in a more creditable manner.

stefanie johnson

Should have a zero! I was crying in pain that was higher than a 10! I waited over 2hrs before seeing the Dr. I was told I'd get pain medication and fluids along with bloodwork. It took another 2hrs before even getting my meds and I was still crying. I was told the reason it took so long was because of shift change!! Really?!?! They needed to walk an inch in my shoes. I was there around 5ish am and wasn't discharged until 1p!! Freakin beyond ridiculous! It took less than 5 min to administer my pain meds. Go to find out I had pneumonia! Ugh....nurses at front desk need to have their attitude in chrck.

I called a nurse, Roxy Schwartz, A liar while I was in the St. Cloud Hosp. in the summer of 2016. I was in this hosp. for I think 56 days. Schwartz took offense to me calling her a liar and called the cops, and report me for saying, and I quote, ''He said that he was going to get a gun and find out where I live.'' A total lie!! She claims she was SOooo scared for her life and then waited 5 days to report me. What a joke!! I asked the St.Cloud Hospital for all my records, including nurses notes, and could not get them. Roxy Schwartz is a liar and the St. Cloud hospital is an accomplice !!!! I pray for your hate!!!!!!!

If I could give a zero I would! I brought my friend in for severe chest pain at 12:30 am and didn't see a doctor until 7 am. After she was triage and they knew her pain level, symptoms, and extremely high B/P they still had her wait another 6 hours in the waiting area. After all the tests she was admitted to the hospital but they didn't room her until after 11 am. The doctor was not happy she had been waiting for almost 7 hrs with her condition. They don't prioritize the the symptoms/condition of the patient, THEY ARE ONLY A NUMBER ! For being a hospital known for their cardiac unit I would never recommend bring your loved one there 1st. Wish I would have brought her to another hospital instead of waiting it out.

Upon beginning this I have been in the ER for two hours now. My father who has been at a risk for kidney failure due to water pills to keep the water around his heart down(he has a valve replaced with a pacemaker) For two of those hours we had no one come in whilst a urine sample sat on the counter. We had to call someone in to even know what was going on then the nurse comes in saying they’re sending my father home with a catheter and he had to follow up with urologist. Not only is this a band-aid being placement on a wound that could need sutures but it is a Saturday night. Sunday’s they’re not open and who knows how long it will take to get him in to see someone. We requested a cardiologist to see the water he had retained and suddenly the doctor comes in saying he hasn’t made up his mind despite the fact a nurse was sent in to place a catheter. Another two hours and a chest X-ray later we still have nothing. I have spent a total of at least 4 hours in the ER with zero progress and a very rude doctor that more then likely lied to us about the decision made and test results. The cardiologist that was ‘called’ never showed; another thing they lied to us about.

Came in with a blood clot and bp of 208/188. Waited three hours for all of the imigrants to be seen first and finally went home after watching five people who came in after me get admitted and discharged. I guess if they don't care why should I.

Jessica Raveling

Some doctors listen as well as some nurses but they treat everyone as if they are drug addicts and if you refuse narcotics they say you are fine and to go home. I refuse to take narcotocs no matter how much pain i am in but they push them or they say your an addict because you accept them. The one PA I had actually listened and believed me as well as the nurse. But while running tests I did refuse a very invasive test but said to continue on woth the rest. The techs became agitated and refused to finisb the other tests. Im still in pain now but whatever sometimes its better to suck it up when you live by this hospital.

Kel Richa

After a very long wait to be seen Amber NP and nurse Sam among many other staff listened to me and took care of all of my needs in a prompt manner. They were all friendly and compassionate. This alone made me feel a little bit better!

Lance Bursch

They CAN'T get my medicine correct after what 12 hours! And then they don't have what I need. How can a hospital run like that! Then ordered food, and they left and so I can't eat. Tv dinner, lol. WTHECK. The nurses act like they Don't care. The doctors same. If the VA wouldn't have changed formula to 1 of my medicine, this WOULD NOT HAPPENED!! Hospital is supposed to take care of people. Is it because their taking care of muslims and illegals??!! What's up with AmerAME!!!

Rachel Moore

Waited for over 4 hours with severe abdominal pain when my primary doctor thought I might have appendicitis. Earaches were prioritized above me. Its extremely rude to just assume someone is there looking for narcotics, when they are in the worst pain of their life. I just left because my health was obviously not a priority. I just hope my appendix doesn't burst. Update: I ended up having to go to the ER in Monticello to get care. I was diagnosed with pancreatitis and was admitted to the hospital. Its an absolute shame I had to go 30 minutes away to receive care.

Ire Goth

If I could give a zero, I would.

They do a great job. My wife and I had a scare with the baby. The moved fast to get her checked out. With the remodel, they have a efficient entrance. The entrance has valet service during the day time.

Josette DeVries

Very poor staff service... One of worst experiences in an ER and i wasn't even the patient...

Corey Waytashek

They said we can go home in a half-hour And here I sit two hours later still no discharge it's like they forgot bout us. No answers when we can go home. I'm ready to walk out

Of there was away to give a no star I sure would. Staff in er lobby was so rude and disrespectful it is unbelievable. This is the worse hospital ever.

Please note that this review is solely related to the business practices of the St. Cloud Hospital. The care we've received from the providers, whether at the hospital or at other clinics, has always been phenomenal. It's incredibly unfortunate that the health care administrators make good providers look bad through intentionally opaque billing practices that drive up the cost of health care and exacerbate the negative view many have to the organization. Despite having insurance (yes, a high deductible plan), we were charged more than double what an uninsured patient would be asked to pay, thanks to an agreement with the Minnesota Attorney General. Despite the cost of the visit coming nowhere near our deductible, I was informed, by a very unpleasant Patient Financial Services Representative, that our visit had to be run through our insurance, and it was insurance fraud to claim that we didn't have insurance. Even the uninsured "cash discount" for a CT Scan was a 2.5 time markup what it actually cost the hospital to administer, based on my conversation with the ER Medical Director - meaning they are charging us five times what the procedure actually costs them, and four times more than what the local imaging center charges. And don't forget about the facility fee, and the fact that the hospital outsources a number of services it provides; Emergency Room Doctors, Radiology readings, etc. So along with the egregious bill from CentraCare, expect to get more bills from other entities as well. And while CentraCare contracts with these various organizations, they have no clue what those contractors are billing, and their billing systems don't "talk" to each other, so while they can "ensure" you that you are not being double-billed for any services, they have no way of actually proving it. Unfortunately, I believe this is why health care costs so much, and it's disheartening to see that problem manifested right here in Central MN. Hospitals can and will charge what they want, and we as health care consumers have little to no recourse because they are essentially the only providers in the area (only ER, among other things). Whether you have a higher insurance premium with less out of pocket, a lower premium with a higher deductible, go without insurance because it is too expensive, or receive state aid, we all end up paying the price for these nefarious business practices. It's unfortunate the business of health care undercuts the providers who are working diligently to try and make their patients better. I've submitted a Consumer Assistance Request with the MN Attorney General Office in hopes that they will looking into the billing procedures of CentraCare and the St. Cloud Hospital. I've submitted a payment for what I deemed reasonable - the cash price for the CT Scan our son received and the full cost of one of his ER facility fees (he was discharged and readmitted in less than an hour due to a worsening conditioning, and the company that staffs the ER doctors have a policy of only billing one ER admission in a 24 hour period - something CentraCare does not follow, but seems like they should). They have yet to provide a reasonable explanation as to why we should pay more, beyond the fact that they way they bill is the way they bill.

St. Cloud ER is understaffed every time we've came never a good experience.... in the last three hours my Wife is in worse pain now then being in labor and they drag there feet to figure out what is wrong. I recommend going elsewhere if possible.

All I have to say is "thank goodness I was transferred to Wilmar or they would have forgotten I was even there".

Tested me for everything in the books , then I got a fever of 103 & they wanted a spinal tap so we did a spinal tap . Then they sent me home after the results came back normal . Went to health partners to find out I have pneumonia . And now dealing with the worst spinal tap headaches , because they only had me lay flat after it for 20 minutes . Definitely will take the drive to a different hospital before I go back .

St Cloud is lucky to have a high quality healthcare facility like St Cloud Hospital. I have lived in the area for 23 years and watched the level of care and breadth of services increase. A large number of providers have joined the community because of the hospital and growing medical community. On a personal level, in the past year my family has had 3 hospitalizations, more than 3 surgeries, cardiac rehab, ER visits, as well as urgent care and outpatient procedures. Without exception, I have found the nurses, doctors, and other providers thorough, professional, and kind. St Cloud it's time to wake up to the marvelous health assets we have and stop living with past 'ugly step sister ' views of our community. St Cloud Hospital is one of our jewels!

I brought my diabetic 14 yr old son in one night for a nasty infection on his toe and horrible back pain. The Dr. Timothy johnson gave my son a shot to so called numb his toe to get the infection out. Well he cut my sons toe open and he was NOT numb. My kid screamed the whole time and the dr. Told him it didnt hurt !!!! Then took his gloves off and was messing around with his toe that was bleeding like crazy. Picked up a piece of gauze that was off the floor and wrapped his toe with it. My son then reminded him of his back pain. He looked at him and said " YOUR TOO YOUNG FOR BACK PAIN " and walked out !! Update : my sons toe is healing fine now and for his back he will be have surgery for a herniated disc thats pressing on his spinal cord.

Absolutely sucks was there for over 5 hours

Spent the afternoin in St. Cloud hospital ER with my very sick daughter. We arrived aboit 1 this afternoon. Never have i been treated so rudely as by the security guard that was on duty. A complete JERK. First time I've used an ER in years. The doctor the nurses were great. First imoressions matter! I think you need to take a second look if thats how you want people to be treated.

Sha'nae Ramos

I’ve sat here for over 3 hours and have never been checked on. Then I ask them what’s taking so long? Then the nurses reply was there’s people who had worse blood pressure levels so they are being seen first. So I’m sorry your just gonna have to wait a bit longer. Mind you I’m dehydrated, I’ve been throwing up non stop for 3 days. I’m also sitting in this waiting room while these nurses watch me throw up for over 3 hours straight! Horrible service and honestly one of us will die before we get treated here at this hospital!!
