Receptionists there are very, very unprofessional. I called to check on a family member that got admitted, left on hold for 45 minutes, had to hang up and drove to the hospital, to make sure that the family member was there and ok. Very unprofessional.

Barry McKockner

Clean and respectful

Very disappointed with the maternity ward at this hospital definitely not Brighrams service! Had a cesarean, thought I'd have the same experience but far from it. They pressed so hard on my chest while operating that I have had issues laying down as I become short of breathe and feel like I can't breathe due to the pain. Doctors cant figure it out. The perk and ibphrophen aren't helping either. Also the fact that I'm nursing doesn't mean that the nursey can't and shouldn't take my daughter so I could sleep but apparently they don't have sufficient nurses to watch more than 1 baby at a time. Rooms are dirty and everything is old in the rooms, I had to bring my own Lysol disinfectant wipes and clean up blood off the floor near my bed. Cafe closes at 6 so your visitors don't even have access to a free cup of coffee, brighrams does! Would have gone back to brighrams if only my insurance wouldn't have changed. :(

I am so impressed and gratefull to all of the unbelievably caring, thoughtfull and compassionate professionals that work at Cambridge Hospital.... I was so impressed with, and will never forget how the Nurses cared for my daughter (Vanessa) before, during and after her Surgery... I want you to know how much you are appreciated and respected for who you are, what you do and how you do it....

I worked in this place for along, but I enjoy it, there is a spirit of togetherness in my department , l know we are not perfect, we got a manager who is understanding.

Anna Friedrich

Major HIPAA violation of my baby's privacy which I found about by chance--CHA fired the culprit at the Medical Records but didn't notify me of the breach.

Ronazia Singleton

Highly unprofessional and I felt very discriminated. The nurses/doctors completely disregard everything I told them and how I was feeling.

The day my son was born at the CHA hospital was the happiest day of my life. But this review is not about that day. The review is about indifferent, unprofessional staff and horrible unacceptable service at CHA’s ER. We got dismissed from the maternity ward on the 16th and were seen at the CHA Malden the following day for checkup. The bilirubin level was high and as a precaution the doctor suggested we do the test at CHA Cambridge emergency room lab the following day since it’s a Sunday and CHA Malden’s lab will be closed. Not suspecting any issue we agreed. So on 03.18.18 we drove up to CHA Malden Emergency room to get a 1pm bloodwork test ordered by our pediatrician the day before. And here is when a nightmare started. I should probably reiterate that my baby was only three days old and i was clearly sleep deprived, tired and hormonal . Here we were in the end of the flu season in the busy emergency room- not fun. After a 30 minute wait to talk to her, the receptionist dismissed us immediately after being told what we were there for: “ We don’t do this here. I don’t know where you were sent but it’s not here. May be upstairs. “ So we took the elevator up to the hospital’s lab . When after another half an hour standing at the lab window waiting to be helped someone finally came out. That lady was also very indifferent to our problem to find where we were sent: “we are closed today. It’s not here. “ That was a breaking point for me and i said: “ you work here at this hospital, so you are going to help us because we need bloodwork done and the doctor sent an order here. We are not leaving until someone helps me and my 3 days old son!!! “ The other two people that came out at this point did not know what to do either. So i suggested that they dial an on-call doctor at the CHA Malden and figure out what to do. So they did and the doctor on call confirmed that we have an order for bloodwork and need to go to the emergency room lab to get blood drawn. Down to the 1st floor we go again. The rude lady in the ER finally checked us in. We spent a few minutes in the ER room where the nurse checked my baby’s temp, oxygen level and drew blood. Then they dismissed us and we went home. Absolutely unacceptable service by all the parties involved. Is this done to all the 3 day old children and their mother’s or are we the only “ lucky” ones? People are in the hospital to get treated, not to get mistreated. Imagine my surprise when my insurance sent me the letter that CHA ER charged them over 1K for the service of which $150 was my co-pay. That is a very expensive bilirubin test order that i had to give to my baby both financially and emotionally. Hospitals need to have clear protocols and follow them- This needs to be fixed immediately so the staff at both CHA Malden and CHA Cambridge know what to do in the situation like this- simple blood test on a Sunday.

This is a horrible place. Every time I make an appointment, its with a different doctor who doesn't individulize your care. They refuse to help and make you feel like the biggest piece of garbage. The front desk staff are all rude as hell and completly incompetant. The nurses have no idea where to begin explaining about vaccines and their side effects which is my fundemental right to know exaclty what is in my medicine. The nurse and their aids are extremely unfrofessional, and like to listen in the rooms while tge docor is with their patients. When I was a child, CHA was such a wonderful place but more recently, it conveys a capitolistic facade making you literally just a number and a paycheck. I went to my PCP for stomach and intestinal problems and it wasnt until 7 months later that I finally get to see the GI specialist who was another phony fraud usless liar. He found abosultely nothing wrong, but insisted i continue to see him once month. To me that screams "I want your money." They miss diagnosed my mother's ovarian cancer for 3 years resulting in to become stage 3. They also misdiagnosed another friend of mine who also had cancerous ovarian cycts. Do not go to CHA if you want quality health care.

My roommate had a leg surgery at this hospital and the staff were so kind and helpful. I spent some time with him before the surgery trying to calm him down and I noticed how the nurses/doctors were so professionals and helpful. The surgery succeed and my friend now is able to walk again.

So ,I was frantic today when I learned my insurance didn't cover my much needed prescription. So I'm on phone with the pharmacy worried and the gentlemen I was speaking with immediately corrected the problem. Immediately! And he was so kind too! His name is Carmen, and people can be so rude all day so when I'm treated as a human being with consideration and compassion I need to share it. Keep it up Carmen and thankyou.

Alison Cheney

Zero stars! Terrible billing accuracy, referral process and overall service. I will be switching to a new network and doctor ASAP

Chantale Noel

Lilyan F.

Unethical practice. I was triple charged for the same ER visit for a simple but serious respiratory infection. I received 2 separate bills from my insurance claiming they've sent over claims on the exact same line items multiple times, and filed it multiple times. Much malpractice in the insurance and billing department.

I was hospitalized a few weeks ago and the nurses on the 6th floor at the Cambridge Hospital were amazing!! Nurse Kareen, Nurse Julianne and CNA Nirva made my experience there bearable. The intake coordinator at the emergency room and the Dr. who saw me and expedited my care. Thank you.

My first time experience here will last a life time in my mind was treated with the most disrespect and I was there was sent to the emergency room for pain to be discriminated against by a doctor named Alex it was so bad I had to call my girl friend and my lawyers office to stay on the phone with me due to the fact I felt unsafe being there because of how I was being looked at and treated. No words can explain how I feel. This place caused me more fear for my life than what the world has to offer the patent doctor care in this place with the doctors is just down right judge and profile and mis trust everything going on with you that's in black and white and treat you like a nun human being.

The service provided by CHA has been stressful to non-existent. Don't use this hospital if you think you'll ever have a health issue.

My friend's daughter was hit by a car crossing the street n she was taken to CHA. Once she arrived she was checked over by a nurse, but it was 3hrs later before she ever got xrays, scans, bloodwork n spoken to a doctor, who only spoke w/her for a total of 20mins. After 5hrs later she was told that she would require surgery to repair her broken left leg n 3 broken ribs. Total time: 10 long painful hours.

Do not work in Ultrasound Department. The manager there is the worst person to be a manager in Boston area. She is a dangerous person to be around. Nobody likes her and that department unless you are the puppy of the manager! She easily get rid of you if she does not like you. She does not care if you know your job, she just care if you pleased her! Before you start to work in Ultrasound department, please ask around about the manager there and how she treats people who works there.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. A friend recommended me to see a doctor there who her brother had surgery with. I was very clear that I was asking for a second opinion and the kind of surgery I need. I get to the appointment seconds into me explaining the situation he says that's not a surgery he would do. He then goes to google to search my current doctor and tells me I am with the right person even though again I'm asking for a second opinion. He then searches on google for doctors at Beth Israel that I can see. I called customer service and they refuse to refund my 60.00 co-pay because of the care I received. I am glad searching google costs $60.00. I could have saved my money and 2 hours and done that myself.

I am extremely appalled by the choice of staff/students at this facility. One of the students posted a video via social media having a grand old time smoking marijuana before her shift. The women continued to record herself intoxicated trying to help a resident get off of her hospital bed, ALL OF THIS IS BEING RECORDED ON SOCIAL MEDIA BY THE WAY! She seemed to be way more interested in recording the resident struggling to get out of bed then doing her job and helping the resident! What happen to patient privacy? Pictures of this women are posted all over the internet not quiet sure how she landed a position with this facility but that behavior should not be tolerated in this environment. How will any family feel comfortable leaving there loved ones with weed smoking CNA's that record themselves on the job! I feel so bad for the resident in the video. Unbelievable ! This person was trained through JVS CNA training what a shame! This was at cambridge hospital !

Support Team

Overall, it is a decent hospital. However, the billing department is mistake prone and very unhelpful.

I may move out of Somerville because of how bad this place is! Never go! I am going to picket! As a doc about their blatant disregard for patient care or human decency. Are you comfortable with your patient data at CHA? I am not! #Wannabehospital

The amount of times I get sent home from there, clinics and Emergency room in pain is enough. I have bad illness alot of chronic pain, disk, knee miniscus pain, tendonitis pain, pinch nerve pain. Fibromyalgia! Doctor sends me home in pain. I moved here 4 years ago a native of Cambridge, and I am shocked how the people are being treated like meaningless cattle... Not, everyone is a drug addict. My blood was drawn so many times ro check without me knowing they never found anything. This hospital is not worth going to. Stay away!!!

Tessa Baggins

I used to go to therapy at the adult psychiatry center and they had the absolute worst customer service you could possibly imagine. I had a terrible therapist who seemed like she had never done this before and when I tried to request a new provider, they just added me to the end of the waiting list as if I wasn’t already a patient there. The front desk and central intake associates are often rude and not helpful at all. Do not go here if you can help it.

There are some great providers. But it is a huge bureaucracy and it can be incredibly difficult to reach a human being who can help you refill a prescription. I have been forwarded now to three different phone numbers and no one answers, and the voice mail isn't set up. I am an immigration attorney for a living, and frankly dealing with CHA bureaucracy is almost as Kafkaesque as dealing with certain large federal agencies. I don't usually post reviews on google, but nothing I have written here is any different than one I have told CHA time and time again in my client satisfaction surveys. If anyone from CHA reads this PLEASE tell me how to speak to a person who works in the Macht Building, the operator keeps sending me to people who have no voice mail. Thank you.

7am MRI in Cambridge. Shout out to the Cambridge Health Alliance for having their act together like no other place I've seen in a *long* time. In the span of 8 minutes I: I parked (a surprisingly big deal in Cambridge) Checked in at hospital front desk. Sorted billing. Received a wristband with my basic info on it including where I was to go as well as 7 different QR codes for what I assume are procedure related details. Walked down the hall and checked in to Radiology / Imaging. As I filled out all the requisite insurance forms online, the only paper I touched was my parking ticket and the MRI safety screening sheet that asks me if I have any metal in my body. I am impressed!

Joe Sangiorgi

if i could give 0 stars i would worst service ever bad doctors and people making up stories CHA Is a joke i would recommend them to a dead person

Worst ER for wait time. Everything always takes forever. Have been to 3 ERs in the area and never takes as long as they do. Same days appointment at the pedi clinic is never easy or you could stay months without seeing your primary care.

Horrible Dr. At Somerville Hospital. Changing medication from generic to brand name with out talking to me. Most likely due to some kick backs. Refuses to fill prescriptions or takes multiple calls to get refills. Staff is incredibly inept. Multiple calls for information went unregarded, then was given wrong info about apointment. Horrible experiences with this guy.

Awesome ER experience, mom had a kidney stone, had CT scan and saw 2 Drs within 2 hours and then home with scripts. Modern and clean!

I'll start by saying I grew up in Cambridge and I was born in this hospital. I was always proud of this hospital and the way they operated. Given what has happened over the past few days involving the Psychiatric ward of the hospital I lost all faith. My brother lives with me and I have watched his mental health decline to the point where he was harmful to himself. I went the courts and he was sectioned for a 72hr evaluation in order to properly help my brother. The hospital released him in 48 hrs without actually conducting the proper mental health evaluations. If you care about your families well being do not bring your loved ones here. I would recommend Mass General or another psychiatric ward local to the Boston Area.

Cambridge Hospital has the fastest ER I've ever been in. Almost every single staffer is courteous and puts the patient first. (We've been to CHA many times, having chronic illness in the family.) They're not the hugest hospital in the area--I got referred out to Mt. Auburn for a cardiac stent--but for basic emergency care and medical issues, they're great. Urology and podiatry are particularly good, and their mammograms are almost fun because of the staff!

Siobhan L Ford

Friendly and helpful staff!

Rachid Khatib

Awesome service at the ER this time. I have to take My 11 years old daughter there for a chest pain. the nurses make here forget the pain with big smiles and frandly ways of taking to here especially nurse ANNa she is very nice. And what I like the most the understanding of my request. I requested all female nurses and a female doctor if possible they accepted without no caution I'll give 5 stars just for the way they accepted my request.

Shawn Kelly

Wish i could give 0. I suicidal they throw me out bare foot no help. I begged for help beg beg beg and no help. Throw me our no help

Honestly this place is okay, but sometimes the staff are just so rude especially at the pharmacy. I love the doctors but I wish they would try and understand their patients a little bit more and not rush things. Especially for the patients who don’t speak English.

Karina Gonzalez

I have called the CHA cambridge financial office seeking for information about what type of insurance they take, the person that picked up the call was really unprofessional and rude, she was trying to go back and forth with me when i was just trying to get the information, she was approaching me in a rude way and trying to rush me, not only that she sounded angry like she didn't want to do her job, plus i had to explained to her 3 times the reason of my called, when she finally understood what i needed she tried to say that i was the one that couldn't understand her, she had a really nasty attitude people like that shouldn't be allowed to work with patients information. This is a really good hospital, i had my baby there but they need to hire better staff to deal with customer service and patients information.

Rivera Lily

Really good Hospital .,awesome experience!

Duncan MacLeod

Went to the hospital for a consultation for sinus problems. Doctor asked if he could check in my nose before i leave, so I said yes, assuming it wouldn't cost me anything else. Big mistake. This was me agreeing to a $685 procedure. They have a deal with the insurance company forcing this procedure to pay out more than charged for and leaving the patient with the bill. That short procedure cost me $685 after billing my insurance. I went in expecting a co-pay, and walked out breaking the bank. Question everything these doctors want to do to you, because they have no regard for how much something may cost a patient and won't explain procedures in full before performing them. Finding a new primary care.

Nia Rod

Everything but the emergency room is awesome!

Very bad hospital Dr no experience every time I go there they said we. Don't know what's wrong with you I still have pan for 8 years good luck with them

Matt Londergan

I was treated with utter disrespect from the nurses and especially the security. I had chest pains and couldn't breathe and the security told me I couldn't be seen by the doctors because the doctors said that 'they didn't want me there'.t I literally started crying because I thought they were going to just watch me suffocate to death. I'm appaled

Bia Hobi Moreira

I had the unfortunate experience of going to this hospital twice for two separate emergencies. Waited for a long time for nothing. Had a bad cut in my hand and they didn't disinfect it or even cleaned it. I did that myself. The nurses there are either lazy or truly incompetent. Both times they told me a doctor would follow up with me. They didn't. The first time I tried calling but got transferred a thousand times. This time I'm not even going to try. Wow. Truly the worst hispital I've ever been to.

It isn't a fancy hospital. However the staff is very kind and professional. I was lucky to be assisted for really good and carring doctors and nurses!
