This hospital cancelled an appointment twice after having to reschedule my second one. They called me minutes before my appointment time, when I was right by the building. I had to work extra hours to make up the travel time. I still haven't seen a doctor. Not reliable. Not booking any more appointments.

I despise Carney Hospital with a burning passion. I was physically and emotionally abused here by staff and nurses at Carney Hospital in May 2007 on the adolescent psych unit 5 North. I was diagnosed with PTSD from it in March 2009. On May 29, 2011 29 staff were fired from the adolescent psych unit for sexual assault, physical abuse and also emotional abuse/neglect. Google it. It really happened. It should not have taken it that long to fire the staff. It didn't just happen in April/May 2011 like the news articles said. It happened as far back as 2007, when I was there. Carney Hospital is extremely lucky that I cannot afford to take them to court. They also had me sign my medications sheets when I was 12 years old, not 18 which is illegal. Thank you Carney Hospital for destroying my innocence and giving me years of flashbacks and nightmares. :'(

I was admitted at the hospital March 30th 2019. It was the worst ever experience. The doctors teams between day and night are totally out of synch. At night they started anti biotics, during the day they stopped, and then started again at night. I talked to the doctors and one group simply preferred antibiotics and the other didn't. But why was I in the middle of them ? Then I had 101 fever and it took them literally 5 hours to give me telynol. Like seriously. There are better hospitals in Boston, with better trained staff and better medical practices. Please avoid this hospital at all costs.

Excellent ER. Hospital is good, but being a teaching hospital means that people are just leaning how to properly stick you with needles. I had an IV in my right arm for 24 hours put in by an experienced nurse. That was fine. I also had two vials taken from my left arm by a student who caused more pain and bruising in 5 minutes than the IV that had been in since the night before.

Poor service. They wanna discharge me wen I can’t even use my leg to walk. Came to the hospital very sick, I told them I needed blood and the doctor said everything look fine, and he started given me pain medication and the medication is very small for my pain, I’m tryna explain the medication is not helping me, he said NO, from his look everything looks good, the next day he came and said I need blood my blood is very low I have to sign the consent, fake doctor, I’m like do u know what’s in me. I feel like I’m going to die cuz my pain keep increasing and nothing is helping.Terrible Service IN HISTORY. They can’t control my pain I ask them to transfer me to another hospital and kelly the RN keep running her mouth. people. If you're going there for mental health issues DON'T. Especially if its an emergency. Their BEST team is actually Bay Cove and based out of BMC the people that 'assess' you aren't anything more than sales reps. They only want to get you moved into one of their facilities. Emergency dept. for some reason refuses to call the psychiatrists that are IN the Carney. I assume, because they're a different group, SMG. This is criminal as it's putting the $ before the patient. Also by signing discharge forms you agree that: "I understand that the emergency care i received is not intended to be complete and definitive medical care and treatment." So if you need a band-aid or some water. Emergency Dept. is the place to go.

Just got kicked out by the most rude and unprofessional security for sitting in the lobby after being discharged with the flu. My body aches, I am dizzy, it's 5 in the morning, still dark out, cold, raining and I have no ride. This hospital and every other one under Steward are a sick joke. New England Sinai hospital satellite acute care facilities@ carney is not what we expected. No patient teaching, slow response time and it isni a rehab! Infection control is poor and serious language barrier which is frightening. Maintenance hasn't fixed broken toilet leaking and spraying water all over floor and my husband is fall risk.

I don't like Carney hospital went to the ER because my blood sugar was 356 I waited for ever to get a room then I was seen by the doctor once when I was in the room they took me out saying that they needed the room and put me in the hallway in another section of the ER and no one checked on me I felt like an animal and finally they put me back in a room then I never got results from my blood work while I was there I don't care if my blood sugar is 600 or higher I am never going to this shity hospital again

ER staff is so rude and unprofessional!!! I came in with friend who need psych evaluation that was a danger to her self and others as she was climbing on 3 story roof etc. (mind you I worked on psych unit for 6 years so I know when someone is not right)which I thought coming to Carney would be best and quickest since they have psych unit. A lady from the “Best” team (which is not the “Best” team)came and talked to her for all about 5mins pumped her with Ativan and said she was able to go home when even one of nurses thought she should be admitted but lady from “Best” team said she made up her mind. Then I was talking to my friend and the nurses at desk where mimicking me loudly. Needless to say I had to bring her somewhere else where they actually took time to talk to her and realized she need to be sectioned to locked unit. Don’t even bother going to Carney ER staff is lazy, rude and unprofessional!!!!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I was taken here by force because the lazy EMS guys did not want to drive to Mass General. The inpatient psyc doctor gave me anxiety pills and They turned me narcoleptic. The day time councilors were rude and complined that I complaned too much about the food. Darcy my asigned social worker was immature drawing a smiley face on my discharge papers made a fallow up with a PCP I no longer see. Forced me to go to their outpatient. I found blood on the bathroom floor. This hospital is dirty and discusting. John was so kind to me and we chatted up over TV shows. Nicest night councilor there.

Today was my first time going to this hospital. I've heard many bad reviews, however, my experience wasn't bad at all. I went into the emergency department sick as a dog with my 4 year old who was also very ill. They seen us immediately! And together! Most adult hospitals do not see children under 15 in the state of Mass. They refer you to a hospital that sees both adults and children (in which you would have to get seen 1 at a time in different parts of that hospital) or send you off to Bostons Childrens Hospital (which is a 5 star hospital but only for kids). And it sucks to have to wait in one emergency department for your minor child, to then wait in another for yourself. Time kill, and parking prices are not getting cheaper. Which this hospital has a lot of street parking available and a parking garage. Nurses are very humanitarian, don't down talk you, or make you feel like you don't know something is wrong with your kid. I appreciate the staff today. My daughter even said "this hospital was nice". Won't 5 star it bc it's only our first visit, and in one department. It was a pleasant visit, got both of us seen quick, both got xrays, prescriptions, paid $0 for parking, and everyone was nice.

It's definitely the worst hospital I have visited so far. Their employees are rude. The doctor who saw me didn't care what would help me at all. He just ordered bunch of lab tests and prescribed so many useless drugs for a flu. I was ripped off and left with a huge debt after my visit and still had to go to another clinic to get right treatment. I have never talk to anyone ruder than the specialist in their billing department. She was literally yelling at me and made me feel insulted. She was very rude and impatient even after I nicely reminded her that I would call another person if she did not want to talk to me. Worst experience ever. I would never visit this hospital again and would never recommend it to anyone I know.

My 18 year old had an appointment for her annual preventative physical. she saw a Doctor that was part of the family practice training program. As her PCP was fully booked..The doctor was very nice but appeared flustered and unsure. At the conclusion of the visit we expected to receive the print out that is required by the school nurse for all students, they were not able to give us this at the time. I had to call several times as did the school nurse at Milton High We finally received the documentation. We were billed for a sports physical for 380 dollars. I have made over one hundred calls asking them to recode our visit as there was no sports physical !! To this day a year later this has not happened. The admin is a shambles they are indifferent and unresponsive.

Funny you cant post unless you have at least 1 star :/... LESS THAN ONE WORKS BETTER for this place! My daughter was in a pretty bad car accident, at first she had pain but she thought it was normal after an accident, However, the next day she was in the worst pain ever in her lower back etc... Took her to Carney and was treated less than humane! She was told your pain is normal, gave her Motrin and said, See ya! The PA that cared (sarcasm) for her said she can look at her and tell she was ok! WOW!! No ultrasound, nothing went someplace else, had a dislocated finger and is in pt for her back and knee! I wont say all her issues but I will say this, If you're in need of real care, Do yourself a favor and seek another facility! Wish I had time to tell you a few more horror stories,.. SICK!! BEWARE!!! COME HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! also very funny that the owner responds to "certain" ppl! ( in my opinion) Look at the names of the ppl the owners respond to!

I was transferred from Quincy ER to the Carney Hospital. I was very worried at first. But my two day stay in ICU was excellent. The staff very helpful, attentive. The CCU Doctors on point. I felt very comfortable with my care. Now to the best part. The Nurses OMG they are angels, the best. The nurses on duty the past Sunday and Monday gave me exceptional care. They checked on me throughout the day and night. They made me feel so relaxed and comfortable.I also want to thank the Nurse in the stress test dept. For being so kind and great to me. I want to thank all the staff for the wonderful care.Thank you. God bless. Frank.

Stay away from this hospital. I found ticks in my wife's ICU bed after being there for 2 days. ICU nurses on the weekend were amazing! Wish I could say the same about the rest of the place. BEWARE!! (Not sure you want to go to their sister hospital St Elizabeth's either - 2 days there and 2 different doctors tried to treat my wife using someone else's medical records. BEWARE of this one as well) Sad!!!

Their ER is horrible, they literally don’t do anything, going to them is a waste. They will literally do nothing, dismisses the patient who is still suffering from the problem. Update: their primary care is awful too. The nurses don’t get back to you if you leave a message (which is basically the only method of communication), don’t make you aware if they are giving or changing medications. Are generally rude and condescending to patients. I would give Carney zero stars if it was possible

I have to commend their staff. I've been in the emergency room several times and the nurse ,doctors and staff have been outstanding. I came all the way from Roslindale. Bmc and Faulkner are closer but their service is horrible you're not treated as a human being you're treated as if you are an insurance card and they have no regard for patients. Here they don't take 24 hrs for you to be seen.

My wife went to the e.r. because that was the closest hospital and she was in serious pain. First of all when she yelled for help SEVERAL times, no one wanted to help. They just let her scream in pain until they felt like helping her. She was also told not to come back because she goes to another hospital for primary care. When she went to explain to the nurse that she came there because it was closest, the nurse was rude and kept cutting her off telling her not to come back. Worst emergency service I have ever seen in my life. We will never go there again. I hope they shut it down. I work security for years at a Hospital n the appearence and the customer service of the security there look like a pack of thugs don't even assist to help patients by calling the nurses for assistance.

Its a funny thing when you give 5 stars to a place that stuck you a 12-14 different needles trying to get an IV. Being from the medical field I was very hopeful that the paramedic student would be able to get a line. He tried for awhile and it didn't work. So the next one comes. Cant, then the next nurse.. Cant... Now the Dr. with his ultrasound machine. Okay great. Got one, up near my shoulder?? Sorry... I was on a roll w my IV story. Anyways the place is Great they are Quick,Clean,Efficient and best of all Great bed side manners.... And not just the ER, when I was in CT great! the orderly polite and caring. The main Doc treating me was Dr. Reily . . Great guy easy to talk to and compassionate as most doctors are, but he was like my age and easier to relate to I guess. Long story short. This was my second time here and while I don't want to come back soon. If I need to it will be here. Oh yeah all the RNs in ER are great as well. . . Mostly the girl who got the IV in... I wanna say Tara? But the pain + pain medicine has made that night slightly foggier than most. Thank you all!!!

I fell in my kitchen and busted my chin open. Carney is the closest hospital so that's where I went. I waited so long to see a someone, they had to re-open the gash to irrigate and stitch it. The staff was rude, and the doctor refused to listen when I said "Because this is my face, could you make the stitches as small and as close as possible so as not to leave a big scar?" He put 6 stitches in an inch long gash, now I have a gnarly scar on my chin. Also, I had a headache, but wasn't sure if I hit my head, or not (it happened really fast). All they did was an x-ray to see if I broke my jaw. They didn't check for a bump, any indication of head injury, or do a head CT. I could be wrong but I thought it was protocol for a patient with any kind of impact to their face or head to undergo at least some type of assessment for head injury... In short, I would rather die trying to get to the Brigham than go back to Carney.

Really give a Negative 5 stars. Yesterday got a call about my brother, who has been admitted, and cared for for the past 20+ days at Carney. 8 days ago our family call all local hospitals looking for my brother who had not been heard from, but was told he was not there. Isn't that nice?

I need to compliment the hottest guy in boston is a security guard at carney hospital. i am not going to hold back. i am trying to get this guy in lexington ky to like me by admitting. i have traveled to a number of locations have had encounters with the hot hunks out there. i need a nerd. boston is not nerdy. fake smart people all over boston. my cousin michael morgan of sacremento california and works for the phone company is a hot hunk. i think that multiple dimensional reality is real. i didn't really mind being at carney hospital for that long since the security guy was there. this chick got punched in the jaw and they didn't get the guy off the unit. too bad i was wearing such shabby clothes with the hot security guard there. i should go back. also we need to save the hot people. i like the NP on the unit. the NP listened and agreed about SN1 transposons being interesting. i want to someday be a nerd. i am interested in learning about intrumentation and cryogenic freezing. i have to waste time in medical school for certification. we have to save hot people. i guess that makes me part of the SS. i think we need to extend human life and enjoy life.

Dr Tello was my father’s and my PCP at Carney Hospital. I am a nurse and when I had blood pressure concerns about my VERY active and capable father, he did not address them despite multiple visits and notes from other doctors with documented BP 200/100. Dr Tello stated that he has a lot of patients that come to him with high readings and that they are wrong yet documented that my dad’s blood pressure was 160/110 and that he wanted to increase his metoprolol. HE NEVER WROTE AN ORDER TO INCREASE THE METOPROLOL but ordered the same dose. After years of my father reporting high blood pressure readings to dr Tello, he didn’t simply refer my father to a cardiologist, didn’t listen to his concerns, AND MY FATHER DIED OF A HEART ATTACK suddenly at 70. That rarely happens because by that age, a doctor should have ordered the tests needed to look at his heart better. I never would have expected that his PCP neglected to ever check his pulse, nevermind EKG, BASICS! Please, if your loved one goes to doctor Tello, change doctors immediately and do not think about sending your loved one to him. He spoke about his personal life with my dad, his wife leaving him, and my dad was not comfortable with this. My dad mentioned that dr Tello as not impressed with his weight loss 3 weeks prior to his sudden death, and he thought it might have been bc he dr Tello didn’t think my dad was empathetic enough at his last appointment. What kind of doctor talks about how their wife unknowingly planned to leave you for years and take all your money?? It’s so incredibly sad that my dad was cared for by this man who I thought I could trust to help my dad live a long life. This could have been prevented and Carney Hospital should consider the reputation that Doctor Tello is giving them. I know I will make sure that no one has to go through what I have, losing my father to a preventable condition. I will make sure that Doctor Tello can not hurt anymore patients with his carelessness. My physical exam appointments with doctor Tello consisted of him asking me how I was doing and then sending me on my way. This is not patient centered care.

The worse hospital in the world. I went here during my pregnancy and made an appointment to find out the sex. I went there to check in and my appointment was canceled without me knowing and given to someone else. I was so pissed I traveled long way to get there I refused to leave so they took me in. When I went in the the women doing my ultra sound had such an attitude cause she had to stay later. When she told me I had a boy she said it with no exicitment or if I was ready just blurted it out. She was so rude that day I tried to find a different hospital and found one and left that place for the rest of my pregnancy. Don't go here please the people are all rude except for the women checking me in she smiled asked me if I needed water very nice. Other then that very rude and so glad I don't go there anymore. Wish I could give them 0 stars. Oh and it was my first child thanks for the hotrible experience.

This is the worst hospital. Do not go there if you have any other alternative choice. Unfortunately my family had two emergency hospitalizations within only three months this year. The coordinations were terrible. Front desk people cannot give you the correct name of your doctor. Nurses tried six times to find the vain for sampling the blood. Gave phone number of wrong doctor after discharge. They specifically asked us to call them after we finish the meds. when we called them, they told us that we were never the patient of the doctor whose number was given to us. They wanted us to go through our PCP again to schedule an appointment???? What the heck should we do if it was an emergency??? How could this happen twice???? I can write a book about how terrible they are. Please avoid this place if you can. Thanks to those nurses who cared about us tho. You deserve better places.

My husband was in severe pain due to right shoulder injury, went to Beth Israel first and they did nothing for him. Basically sent a man home in tears and with severe pain. Ended going to Carney, they were amazing. Right away gave him pain meds and just felt as if they cared. We had a great experience at carney, and Dr Cole is just amazing. Thank you so much guys

Really bad experience with Dr. Qiao in the endocrinology. They are never able to send the prescription correctly to the right pharmacy. Its not rocket science, but it always ends up in the wrong pharmacy or with a wrong quantity/refills. The office never answers their phone, if you try to call them to get it corrected. To top this all off, this past time they billed stuff incorrectly. Been over a month trying to resolve this and no one knows why it was billed incorrectly and just keep transferring to another department just to get a machine. Even the freaking customer advocate of the hospital does not return calls! If you are not dying, I'd go else where. Regarding the response below: I did try to get the issue resolved by contacting the doctor's office, the hospital billing dept, patient advocacy group, corporate offices of Steward Health Group (Michelle Marko) and the operations director of Steward group (Chris Clodi). 3 months later, still nothing. So the response you posted is useless!

I have a 10 month old son who needed to be changed so I went to the nearest convenient bathroom and there was no changing table. I remembered seeing another bathroom before entering the family medicine wing in the seton building. No changing table in that bathroom. I proceeded to check THREE other bathrooms still with no luck finding a changing table. Finally a staff member allowed me to use a staff bathroom with a sink counter so I didn't have to change my son on a dirty bathroom floor. Why does this hospital not have a changing table? Better question, how does a hospital not have a changing table in any of the 5 bathrooms I checked? It's baffling to not have a changing table in a hospital especially in your family medicine wing.

Extremly bad...next time I will calmly walk to another hospitals in Boston. To be exact I will rather dies in bed at home instead of going there.
