If something is wrong, go to Augusta! Was in ER for 6 hours for my back and felt like i never went, place is a joke! Did have one male nurse that seemed out of place, seemed like he cared!

Went there last night to the Emergency Department for my daughter who needed to ave a small procedure done, that couldn't be done at Pen Bay Ped's, and the nurses were so good with her, all the doctors and nurses were helpful, nice, knowledgeable, and cared. It was night time, I think the night staff are very attentive. They gave her a stuffed unicorn, and even gave me OJ and some crackers to eat when I was about to pass out. It took forever, but that's not uncommon for any ED in a hospital. Thank you.

If I could give it a 0star I would 1,000 times. They almost killed me, and my grandfather by being careless and totally disregarding what was going on with us. Go somewhere else people!!! They have taken many lives over the years from being careless and reckless!!!!!!

This is the second time I've had a negative experience while seeking help for being so ill in this hospital. I was treated like I was stupid and my problems didn't matter. I've been suffering gastro issues since march and was feeling extremely faint and weak with dizzy spells and not holding water down very well...I was at work. The emergency room doctor said the other hospital ran this, that, and the other and there is no test out there to run (mind you he said this very rude with a slightly raised voice) he didnt know me or anything about me aside what he read about my gastro history and treated me as though I was an unintelligent nuisance. I wasn't there for my stomach exactly, I was there for the fainting. Also, not very intellectual about side effects of medication considering I knew more about it. No one wants to go to the emergency department, I've only been to this one a very few times. I didn't feel safe, like my issue was met, or that anyone really knew or cared about the health at hand. I got up and walked out...I do not recommend the emergency department here.

I have only the highest praise for the surgical team and nursing staff at your hospital. As a visitor from another state, I knew nothing about the hospital when I arrived following a bike accident. From beginning to end of stay, I was treated with great care, kindness and attentiveness by everyone. Many thanks for making a challenging situation as pleasant as possible!

I was there for 4 days and 3 nights just recently! The care was superb from doctors, nurses and CPNs, also Janitorial staff.Thank you to Drs. White, Vanpelt and an admitting doctor, forgot her name. Everyone was very professional and kind. Special thanks to Chistine and David who took great care of me day and night. Also loved the private rooms as I was able to rest! I would give my experience with all staff an A+!

This was my first time ever in Pen Bay. I had a bad infection in my tooth so I went into the ER thinking it would be an all day event like most hospitals. Wow, was I wrong. I was seen and on my with a script for antibiotics within 20 minutes! By far the fastest ER visit I've ever had in my life! All of the staff was super friendly as well.

Nice staff. Place could be updated there’s some dry wall spots from where they removed stuff but that’s no big deal. Very long wait.

I have never written a review before in my life but after tonight I feel I have to. I would give Pen Bay hospital zero stars if I could. I arrived with my 2 year old son and after an hour and 20 minutes walked out. We were never seen by a doctor. When I told the nurse we were leaving and I was sorry they were short staffed she responded with "were not short staffed just busy and tending to emergencies ". My case was not an emergency and in that case I am lucky but we should have atleast received a welfare check by someone! Anyone! Also, open an urgent care so people like me don't clog emergency rooms!

Professional. I do worry about infections and I just had surgery and got one. I like most of the staff who seem to know what they are doing. There are a few old crusty ones that you can tell have been there to long though. Overall it is a good place.

i am saddened to write this, as i have praised penbay & the doctors, but am really upset with a doctors office thru penbay...they changed my appt. at least 5 times over the course of the summer & fall, when i finally got in they were an hour behind schedule & i had another appt. that day. please look into scheduling as patients dont always have time to wait an hour before they get in, then the time it takes to get checked. frustruated patient ! ok, i am once again upset with pen-bay, i was supposed to start physical therapy, called this morning & left a message as i havent heard a word since my appt. last thursday, nobody bothered to call me back when i left a message this morning, so i call again, was told they were working on , still no call back...it is now 5:00 pm ...what is going on? i am seriously thinking i may no longer use penbay for my health care...

This operation is only concerned with cost and control Be well advised before establishing anyone you care about in services associated with this Heath Group The facility is dirty ........ Maine General is a finer hospital , newer , their mission is inline with what most people expect . Don't even bother if your looking for quality representatives the moral of employees is low after being absorbed into Maine Medical conglomerate . If your using your head choose Mercy instead ! Save yourself, before allowing substandard statistics become acceptable . Really do some reading about all the reviews regarding the past of this facility ...

Worst hospital and staff I’ve ever had to deal with. All across the board. They are rude, unprofessional and often, unethical. Extremely disappointed with the lack of care and treatment I’ve received. I’d drive the hour to Maine General.

Up from Massachusetts and 9 year old broken her arm on rope swing. :( However, from the emergency room to the Dr, to the nurses... everyone is awesome! Friendly and really made her - and mom and dad - feel comfortable. Thank you!!!
