I paid for an x-ray on the spot and two months later I received a statement saying the same amount is past due and if I dont pay it will be sent to collection. I am so confused now and I need someone to explain whats going on to me
Great people. Great care.
Dr.Wilde is so rude and she not a good listener at all I’m pregnant and they waited until I was threatening an miscarriage to tell me when I first came they saw blood in my ultrasound like why y’all didn’t tell me that when y’all first seen it so that showed me that they didn’t really care or anything I didn’t comfortable with going back ever since.
Saved my life in Feb 2015 !! Great care in ICU'S !! Great Nurses & Dr's ! Great Cardiac rehabilitation program! !!! Great fitness center !
I'm not always impressed with the ED staff and how they care for my mother, they are sometimes rushed and there's usually that one person in every trip that we come across who is not very compassionate with dealing with someone who does not feel well. A recent memory was the triage guy several months ago. I walked in the door to him standing about 20 ft from my mother and telling her to follow him when she had already told him she was dizzy. He did not offer her a hand or a wheelchair even though I had rolled her in, in a wheelchair. It was obvious that she was in distress. The registration ladies are always a pleasure. The nurses on the floors are usually awesome. The student nurse Brooke and her shadow nurse in the ED (yesterday evening 2/1/16) were pretty good.
Touro is a private hospital Well someone Leaked my private info after I Was Injured At Oshner Main Campus. Brook RN nor Margaret Charge Nurse would advocter For me The right to have privacy was denied and they would not leep my curtain close until I said it was a HIPPA Violation. When I asked when did oshner Dr start.. But I must applaud their Security team . They. Are Top Notch!!
I’ve been a nurse for years in area hospitals, and at my parents Insistence, they were each admitted to this facility. My recommendation ... run for your life.
Staff was kind and quick to respond! The room I stayed in was very nice. Parking was validated on the day you are admitted and the day you leave.
This is based on what happened in the ER and might not apply to the rest of the hospital. I was taken by ambulance because I was having anaphylaxis from amoxicillin. The doctors and attendants knew I had taken amoxicillin and I was clearly exhibiting signs and symptoms of allergic shock, and I could barely breathe. They would not bring me a paper and pen to better communicate when I asked for them, and they gave me an irrelevant drug via IV against my will (I said no), for which I was charged. As someone who has had training in immunology and pathology myself, I can tell you that this should have been a clear-cut diagnosis and treatment. I am very forgiving of medical staff, they're only human, but the way in which I was treated was also inordinately unethical, and apparently this is a pattern of behavior at this ER. I was kept for about six hours until I could breathe better, then discharged. As I was leaving, I saw the radiologist outside (who was very nice), and I spoke with her about my mistreatment, although I was still having a little trouble breathing. She agreed that the doctor should have looked into anaphylaxis as soon as I was admitted, as it was clearly the problem. It is extremely important that you ask to be taken to a different emergency room if you are informed in the ambulance that you will be taken here.
The staff at this hospital are simply amazing. When I had my son the nursing staff were beyond expectations. When I had a small emergency I didn't have to wait at all. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone.
Worst experience ever ONLY REASON I WENT HERE WAS BECAUSE I WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW AND HAVE AN EXPERIENCE WITH A MIDWIFE (SINCE I NEVER HAD ONE)WELP IT WAS THE WORST CHOICE I MADE SIMPLY HORRIABLE[NOW I MUST ADMIT THE NURSES AND DOCTOR WHOM BROUGHT MY SON BACK TO LIFE WAS SIMPLY A BLESSING AND SOME PEOPLE I MET THAT WASNT UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!THE FOOD IS WORST THAN JAIL FOOD I CAN ONLY IMAGINE.... IF YOU ASK NURSES FOR SOMETHING FOR YOU OR YOUR BABY ILL TAKE OVER AN HOUR OR TILL A NEW PERSON START THEIR SHIFT AS YOUR NURSE .TO TOP IT OFF I WAS LEFT INFRONT OF THE HOSPITAL WHEN GETTING DISCHARGE WITH MY NEWBORN IN MY ARMS IN THE FREAKING COLD!!!WAITING FOR MY HUSBAND TO PULL UP AND GET US BECAUSE HE WAS COMING FROM THE GARAGE IN THE HOSPITAL THE PERSON WHO DISCHARGE PATIENTS OUT WHEELED US INFRONT THE BUILDING OUTSIDE FREEZING COLD MIND YOU I JUST HAD A BABY THERES CARS PASSING ALSO PEOPLE ANYTHING COULDVE HAPPEN BUT SHE SIMPLY LEFT WITHOUT ME EVEN KNOWING AND WENT INSIDE IT WAS EMBARASSING & COLD HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL OVERLY DISRESPECTFUL ANOTHER WOMAN WHO WORKED THERE SEEN ME & WHEELED ME AND MY SON INSIDE SHE PERSONALY WAITED WITH ME AND MY SON TILL MY HUSBAND ARRIVED TO GET US IN THE CAR I REALLY THANK HER FOR THAT REPEATDLY BECAUSE I WASNT HER DISCHARGE PATIENT SHE DIDNT LEAVE TILL I GOTTEN INTO THE CAR I KEPT TELLING HER THANKYOU BUT OVERALL I REALLY HATE THIS PLACE I SHOULDVE STUCK WITH OSHNER ON THE WESTBANK THIS PLACE IS BEYOND A JOKE
Though I've been dealing with cancer for two years, I'm new to Touro. I have been happy with oncologist, nurses, and level of care. I also had to use to the ER... which I found quick and responsive.
I wasn't upset, just a little crushed at the fact that the information was wrong about the Baby of the Day when my daughter was born. Other than that, excellent hospital, excellent service, excellent security team, which is why trying to be in that department
The best in the city.
I called Touro earlier this week to schedule an appointment as a new patient as my husband and I are ready to conceive. I had my first child at Ochsner Baptist and my OBG was out of town so the experience was ok but I kept hearing commercials on the radio about what an exceptional experience it would be to give birth at Touro so I wanted to try something new. When I called the main line, the operator answered and I told her the reason for my call. She was very short with me replying that “this is the operator. I’ll transfer you to the correct person.” Once transferred, the receptionist was unbelievably short with me, often times talking over me before I could finish my sentence. When I told her I was a new patient, she cut me off, “Date of birth?” Ummmm, ok. Are staff that much in a rush that you can’t be courteous? A new patient? I made an appointment but am canceling. That left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ll be going back to Ochsner.
I've been here more than one should. They always give me the attention I need with kindness and patiance. Love it.
The labor and delivery department smells like rotting meat. The first time I visited this department, I thought that it was just a fluke. But I've visited a couple friends there in the past few months and the smell is horrid. Maybe it smells so bad because the floor has carpet. Why a company would put this petri dish carpet in a germ infested place like a hospital, I have no idea.
I do not like this hospital. I sat on the ER gurney for 2 hours (with chest pain) trying to get a nurses attention & was given the call light after asking for it. There was blood from who knows when on the handrail of the ER bed. I was not informed of a test I was scheduled for before a procedure I was having the same day & I was not informed what time said procedure would take place. Without warning I was told I was being taken for the procedure. Then the transport said - no it's a test. I told them right there in the hallway that they needed to get their act together. After being seen by the ER doc, I didn't see another doc till about an hour before the procedure. The staff do not knock before entering & just flip on the bright lights in the middle of the night with no warning. Dietary staff do not accommodate special dietary needs & refuse to send someone to talk to me about food preferences. The only reason I went there is because, it is the only place my insurance is willing to pay for tests. I would have only given 1 star, but some of the staff were very nice & the transport person wheeled me all the way to my car upon discharge. I wish I could remember his name to give him recognition. I complained to the nursing supervisor on my last admission, but sadly, it appears nothing has changed.
If you happen to have jewelery during your stay. Expect to have it stolen by staff. Mine is mysteriously gone and I have talked to many people. Jewelery my grandfather gave me and he's been dead for years. Jewelery I NEVER TAKE OFF. Very disappointing.
The experience here vs my first child at Oshner Baptist for my two children’s deliveries couldn’t have been more different. My first experience at Oschner was so terrible that I had to change hospitals if my wife was going to have another baby. We chose Touro and Dr. DuTriel was highly recommended. This time around was so much better!!! My wife was treated with the care she deserves, the doctors and nurses we professional and courteous. Really would highly recommend Touro and staff for your loved ones delivery.
Horrible experience giving birth at Touro.... Nurses are rude, while in labor i tried to hold one of the nurses hand. She replied with "don't grab at me" I asked the doctor to have her leave. The doctors were unconcerned, my daughter's head was almost out before anyone walked over to try and assist me. Just don't go there period. Lakeside is better.....
I had all 3 of my kids there. It was great the nurses are very kind and caring ! Sometimes they move really slow but that's understandable when there's plenty other patients. . I personally Love this hospital just not the food lol .
FIRST LET ME START BY SAYING I WOULD NOT GIVE ONE STAR TO TOURO HOSPITAL. THE STAFF AND PHYSICIAN THAT WAS PRESENT WHILE MY SISTER IN LAW WAS GIVING BIRTH WERE HEARTLESS, COLD AND RUDE INDIVIDUALS. TOURO HOSPITAL YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR STAFF. THIS STAFF AND PHYSICIAN NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A LABOR AND DELIVERY UNIT BEING SO CRUEL TO A MOTHER IN LABOR (FIRST TIME MOTHER AT THAT). NO ONE SHOULD EVER GO THROUGH WHAT MY SISTER IN LAW WAS PUT THROUGH. A DOCTOR AND STAFF ARE THERE TO GUIDE YOU AND BE YOUR ADVOCATE. HOW CAN A DOCTOR MAKE A MOTHER FEEL SO INCOMPETENT WHILE SHE IS TRYING TO EXPERIENCE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EVENTS IN HER LIFE? "WHERE BABIES ARE BORN" THAT IS A JOKE! IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR CHILD AT THIS HOSPITAL PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ADVOCATE WITH YOU AND A STRONG ONE TO STAND UP TO "BULLIES. " I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE FOR LABOR AND DELIVERY.
Horrible. My son is dying of esophageal cancer. Nurses act like they're doing him a favor giving him pain meds. Doctors act like I'm too old and stupid to understand what terminal means. Every time I call the voice on the other end is guarded. Doctors are harder to find than Osama bin Laden. BTW, I live 500 miles away, and made a trip to get some answers so I could know how to proceed. Came back home as bereft as when I left. Hate this. Not pleased with the level of care
My grandmother had to visit the Emergency Room and our experience with one of the doctors was horrible. Dr. Johanna Wilde is very rude. She has poor communication skills and is unable to speak to family members or patients appropriately. Her handling of complex situations shows the lack of knowledge she has with providing quality patient care. After this experience we will not be visiting this hospital again.
Noisey place, rude staff
I had my daughter there October last year. I can say it was such a rewarding experience! The nursing staff was amazing and answered any question I had. This was my first baby and they walked me through everything. I would give birth there again in a heart beat.
Got out of surgery at 3pm and was promptly forgotten about. Never got dinner, had to ask repeatedly but by 8pm the catering staff had left. No communication between staff.
Great Emergency Room. I went with severe pain from kidney stones. They didn't rush to get me back there and I had to wait a little bit (which is why I put 4 stars) but once I was back there it was great. They were quick to manage my pain and very attentive and kept checking in on me. The doctor and nurses were very sweet and caring, they seemed happy to answer my questions. They just made the best of a bad situation. Very pleased with the care and would definitely go back.
Very poor dietary staff. Completely forgot to deliver my mom's supper tray and no one even seemed bothered by the fact that no tray was delivered even after I called to complain about it after 7 pm
I then had four kids and all them was deliver here and I'm pregnant now and this baby will be deliver there to
Unfortunately my wife had to go here last year, after an upper respiratory infection (the common cold) became much worse than we thought. But the doctors here gave off the feeling they genuinely cared for us, my wife especially - being the patient.
Usually short wait times in the ER
I had a really great experience at Touro last night. Starting with Deborah at the front desk who was kind, helpful and made me feel immediately at ease. Then Randal and Josh who were absolutely wonderful nurses/practitioners. They were serious & knowledgeable while also being appropriately silly, relatable, kind and gentle all at once. I came in very nervous and alone and my visit was far more comforting, and even fun at times, than I could have ever guessed. Thanks Touro team!!!!!!!!!!
I gave birth at Touro 7 years ago. I guess we really forgot the labor process, because I don’t remember much at all. My sister gave birth at Touro yesterday, and it was an amazing experience. The birthing team was such an amazing diverse staff. The lead Dr. was a direct and in control Asian lady (Dr. Chow was her name I think). There were 2 African American Doctors 1 female and 1 male (Dr. Kenner), and the nurse were diverse as well. Shenika helped my sister through “tug of war” games and everything else throughout her labor. She was amazing. I really just want people to know the experience was phenomenal. Thanks to all in the Touro Birthing Center. There was also a PRN Nurse that helped us as well. I can’t remember her name but she was amazing as well. ❤️❤️❤️
Because you get checkup appointments
Touro Infirmary Diagnostic Imaging Center located on Napolean Avenue in New Orleans made me feel like an object instead of a patient that they had time to administer care to. The MRI Technician stated that she was too busy to professionally introduce herself to me by stating her name. She also stated that she was too busy for me to finish completing my form, such as the medication. She constantly used jargons when referring to me throughout the procedure and telling me how busy she was with other patients waiting. I eventually stated to her that I felt rushed during my patient care. And I can leave and come back on a day when she was not so busy. It was then that she treated me in an unrushed manner like I was not taking up her time and she referred to me by my name (which is used as an identification process for the patients).
Touro is and probably always will be the best Hospital in New Orleans. The staff here genuinely care about people, and actually tell you what's going on when you're receiving care - emergency or otherwise. Unlike Oschner and other hospitals that vaguely explain what is wrong with you or what they're doing to you/drugs they're giving you, this place has WONDERFUL doctors, nurses, staff that will tell you what's going on before you even have to ask
This is an excellent rehabilitation center M9 we will never forget you.
I had to RUSH my 6 month pregnant girlfriend to the ER after she started bleeding profusely a few nights ago. Within 5 minutes of walking in the door, my girlfriend was being rushed to OR and 15 minutes later I was a daddy to a premature but otherwise healthy baby boy. The doctors and surgeons spent another couple of hours in surgery trying to stop my girlfriends bleeding and finally got it under control at about 4am. The doctors, nurses and surgeons did a spectacular job and without a doubt saved the life of my girlfriend and our son. I owe them a debt of gratitude which I'll never be able to repay. Thank you thank you thank you to all the staff at Touro Infirmary that played a role in savings my lady's life and that of our new baby boy.
I came in on advice of my Dr.admitted to dirty room smelled og irem
Touro the place where babies come from
The nurses could have been a little more helpful But I love my doctor
So far I have seen one staff member(a med student) wash their hands over the past two days. It was such an oddity that I thanked her for it.
My Daddy was serving in the South Pacific at this time and my Mother lived on Jena Street and worked for a shipping company.I was born here on April 14, 1943. My Mother chose to have me here, so it must be an excellent hospital.
The worst I have ever been treated in my life the doc came in and said my injury was not an emergency and all he can do is give me pain meds
I gave birth in the labor and delivery department 4weeks ago. Natalie, Rose, Ms. B Just awful
Went in for a gash in my foot and they stitched it up and as soon as they realised I didn't have health insurance they had me hop out the hospitall on one foot with my foot leeking blood. Bullshit hospital
I value the medical staff here when I’m in NOLA. Doctors, nurses and techs all give time and attention. I’ve never felt as though a concern or need was brushed off in an effort to “make their rounds” go more quickly.
I was having and allergic reaction to something unknown when I dialed 911 they showed up almost immediately. ..treated me quickly SAVED MY LIFE .....very good people at the hospital and the paramedics worked very quickly...thank you very much.....☺☺
The medical staff is great the food service is great everything is excellent
I was taken to this hospital, due to every other hospital in New Orleans being over crowded. I didn't even get placed in a patient room and was left in a stock/cast room, given no food or water, stuffed with pain medicine, no call bell the whole time I was there and given a terrible experience with no answers. A few of the nurses were nice, but most acted like they didn't care and the ER doctor was rude. After leaving with a few broken bones in my foot and wrist, they kicked me out on crutches a 12 AM with no phone to call for a cab, no ride, no food after I was given a lot of pain medication and put me on crutches with a broken wrist. Glad I was here for a work trip, because I would not go back to this place. I called them to discuss complaints afterwards; left two voicemails and never received a call back.
I am a New Orleans native, however I now live in another state. I’ve called Touro twice (this morning) because my grandmother has recently been admitted. The first call, someone hung up on me. The second call, (after before be transferred to the nurse’s area), the person who answered the phone was abrupt and RUDE. She asked me to “give the nurses a minute.” I understood that to mean she was asking me to hold on for a minute. And guess what? Another hang up! My experience in contacting Touro today has been frustrating and challenging. I expected my call to be well-received and handled professionally. That did not happen. I am greatly disappointed in the employees’ lack of manners and simple courtesy. Unfortunately, I’ll have to call Touro again to try to reach my grandmother. I hope to have a better experience. (I’m hopeful this review will lead to a much needed conversation or mandatory training on customer service.)
I'll never visit this hospital again.I ended up with a severe respiratory infection after surgery...that's just part of my nightmare, very poor staff. Forget calling patient relations. They never returned my call after 2 messages
My wife when to ER because she was 34 weeks pregnant. Keep in mind the reason why she went there was because she just met in a car accident and her OB told her to go to the ER. They check her in down stairs after that she went up to L&D they place her in a room where there was no bed to sit in a chair keep in mind they like 3 beds that was free they just need to change the beds. They have like 4 RN just walking around doing nothing. The L&D here is the worse so unprofessional and they don’t care about the patients. The patient next to me walk out because they don’t care about their patients. We never been to a hospital like this.
My mom got MRSA while at Touro and died. End of story. Touro sucks. Patient Relations was zero help, they blew me and my family off. I physically went to the Administrative office every day for 2 weeks to speak with with Susan Andrews or Danita Sullivan. Absolutely no response, my family was completely ignored. You enter Touro at your own risk.
On 04/05/2016 came to the ER the doctors on this night stuff I am say Doctor she is so rude if u dont have the patients why work in this field...worst ever
RAYNEISHA (?) was incredibly rude, short tempered and not helpful AT ALL. I have been having severe stomach and chest pains FOR DAYS so I called to make an appointment with my doctor. RAYNEISHA (?) answered and said my doctor was out of town. I asked can I see someone else? She doesn't answer just transfers me. Then the line was disconnected. I call back. She angrily says "You need to go the emergency room." Can't I just see someone else? I asked. She replied The doctor's nurse has to call you. (They NEVER CALL BACK PROMPLY). We tried again and RAYNEISHA didn't even try to book someone else, just shut us down. I'm sure if she or anyone in her family felt this way she would've found an appointment somehow! RAYNEISHA doesn't need to be working answering phones. She SUCKED!
AWESOME! From the time I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was guided through the entire process with empathy, information, wonderful care and now on-going monitoring. I can't say enough great things about Touro. Everyone I have encountered during my journey, including all the folks at Touro Imaging have been supportive, knowledgeable, professional and have made huge contributions to my healing experience. Thank you for everything that all of you have done for me!
Been sitting to myself with contractions and no one has checked on me
Touro is by far the best hospital in the city. If you take the time to check the inner details of administration and physicians, this is the best hospital the city has to offer. Of particular grace is Cheryl, the OB Navigator in the Birthing Center. She will partner with you through what sometimes seems like a dark tunnel until you find the light.
I'm writing this from my room here at Touro. I'm on the 8th floor, "T" section, & I am appalled at how the RN staff treats patients. Jaw on the floor! The rudest, I'm smarter than a drug company & doctor put together, raising their voice at you & once threatened to have me leave via security because I simply asked if she could look to see when I had a medication last bc I knew she was wrong-- and she was. The docs have been AMAZING but as of 10/27/16 horrible nurses. Oh the mosquitoes are excellent. As a law school graduate, I'm taking pictures and video of the possibly Zika & West Nile virus filled mosquitoes to give to my friend that is a huge medical neglect, malpractice etc attorney here in New Orleans. Game on y'all!
