Love our Pediatrician and the staff.

This is the worst place I've ever been to. I just moved from mississippi and I thought their hospitals were bad. I brought my 1 year old daughter there last night, 104.5 fever and enlarged neck and waited 3 hours only to be taken to fast track and told ( we do not have a pediatric doctor here at this particular hospital) ..... y'all have a huge sign stating that y'all are baby friendly .... no! This was horrific and btw the same thing I brought my daughter in for last night was the same thing that nearly took her life a few months ago. And I was turned away. Shame on you!

One of the Best hospitals I've ever stayed at. Everyone knew what they were doing and treated me so kindly. I stayed here a total of 6 days and by the end of the week my care team knew my name and genuinely cared about my health. The charge nurse was so sweet and even came to change the temp in my room. It was a small gesture that she could've have asked anyone else to do but she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. The nurse's here were awesome. They periodically came to check on me throughout the day and night and always asked if needed anything, even if it was something minor. My patient care technician was so awesome after I had my surgery he helped me get out of bed and made sure that my pain was managed on time. The janitor was so sweet and would always spark a conversation. Even the person that brought you food was awesome. They also had pet therapy the week that I stayed, this hospitals pays attention to the details to ensure that you are having a comfortable stay. The Providers, Nurses, etc. Really work as a team here and their work shows it. I would recommend this hospital to all my family & friends. I had a pleasurable experience at Ochner Medical Center.

They really care bout they patients n they deliver my sister baby perfect n they do surgery very well

I delivered my baby at Oschner on September 13th, 2018. I was a bit skeptical about oschner because of the negative reviews people had to say concerning me delivering my baby over there. I was relieved to know that I made the right choice by going when my water broke. I arrived there early morning. They immediately had me changed and check to see how far along I was. Amanda the midwife told me I was dilated 4cm and that I can have a epidural. They got my results back from lab quickly. I had my beautiful son around 10:30 that morning. The nurses were awesome and so sweet. I had Miss Penny as my primary nurse and she treated me so well. The hospital didn’t have many deliveries that weekend so the nurses were able to come to my room quickly every time I called. The hospital took good care of my baby and I.

Cynthia Behunin

Terrible. The doctors just wanted to make it quick with patients; no patience, not much questions asked. I was terribly sick, they sent me home without doing anything to me.

This is actually for my parents. Both my mom and dad have gone here on a regular basis. My mom has 5 stints in her heart. Had them put in by a surgeon there. She WILL NOT go anywhere but Ochsner. They live in Walker they SKIP Lady of the Lake and head to Ochsner. No matter how much I plead Lady of the Lake is closer. She says the service is MUCH better. My father had a HORRIBLE asthma attack so bad he nearly died. The ambulance EMTs got him stable. But it was the service of everyone there that stopped my heart from beating a mile a minute. Everyone was extremely professional and moved very quickly to ensure his health and safety. Thanks for the staff for setting a daughter at ease....

Pamela Bartholomew

My son waited 12 hours in the ER with acute appendicitis before seeing the surgeon. Unacceptable. His signs and symptoms were straightforward. The ER was dirty and there was a used needle on the floor. The Anesthesiologist was clearly aggravated that he had been disturbed to come in on a Saturday morning. Nursing staff...excellent, *****in the ER, post op, recovery and on the floor (which was very nice and clean) However , I do not recommend this ER.

Ernest Carrington

Nothing bad to say about this hospital.Very nice nurses in the ER.Conviently located.

They are the best! They saved my life I needed a five bypass heart surgery and they took the best care of me!! I lived through it and didn't have a heart attack even though I was experiencing the signs of one. They also diagnosed my MS and are helping me take care of the relapses you could experience with that! They have been amazing! Thank you to everyone there!

Wow.......... Just wow!!! I've never seen anything like this. My fiance was in obvious pain, and these"medical professionals" pretty much did nothing for her!! Two hours for a CT scan she NEVER got!!!

The people here dont know how to properly take care of people with epilepsy. Its ashame you dont have enough resources to take care of someone the right way who comes in from a seizure. Shame on this place I dont want to get treatment here if I have a emergency.

Stephanie Bello DiFrisco

IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE, DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!!!! The doctors here must be trying to meet a quota, I was uncomfortable and in pain and the doctor I had kept trying to discharge me without doing the proper exams necessary. She claimed because it wasn't an emergency it was something I could handle out patient. The night she tried to discharge me I got a lot worse. Dr Amanda on the 2nd floor observation unit! Stay away from here. Hospitals like this should NOT exsist and doctors like her should not have licenses.

Amber Downs

I wouldn't even give this place a one. Rude doctors and have been sitting here for almost five hours and they have no clue what's wrong with my father-in-law. Take ur loved ones somewhere else...

My Wife is currently still here in the hospitol. Not happy with the care they have been providing. We have had to talk to the charge nurse twice already and I will be talking to her today as well. Most of the nurses take up to an hour or 2 just to get to us and that's IF the nurses station notifys our nurse. Our 3 month old need breast milk from the freezer and i eneded up just going home and getting milk myself because im fed up. I'd like to know why they have a hoodrat working here that was very rude about everything and didn't know what to do anytime she came in. I wake up today to find out that the nurse from yesterday didn't hook the suction to my wife's chest tube .. We assumed she didn't need it so we didn't ask, so to find out that her lung may have been better than it looks had they hooked up the suction is very upsetting because now we are look8ng at surgery tomorow and a thicker tube. So thanks alot oschner. Most of Your staff sucks. And if one more nurse comes in here and hits her chest tube I'm going to go off. And to the owner that comments on all the bad comments, don't waste your time. I have no comment. Can't wait to get out of here and I will be taking her to a better hospitol for a 2nd opinion when we get out of here.

Dad has surgery on his hand. Doctor came in the room at 8pm and said we could leave. We waited until midnight to be discharged only to be told we have to stay the night in order for him to get his antibiotics and pain medicine. I would not recommend anyone to come here. If I could give less stars, I would!!!

Ms. Price

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. This was my first time ever having to have a c-section so I was a bit nervous & I'm sure it was obvious. When I got there to have my child, the nurses just were in a group gossiping & didn't even acknowledge I was at the window. Then when I was finally acknowledged, there was no "Hello" or anything...It was just "What time are you supposed to be here for"!!! When I explained what I was here for,I was told to "Wait" cuz I was early. The same lady came to me later & asked me "Was this my 1st pregnancy"..I told her "No...But my 1st c-section"...She laughed & said "It's a lil cut,you will b fine"!! Finally about an hr later I'm prepped for my c-section...But before they can do it,they had "NONE" of my paperwork showing I had a scheduled c-section. I had to show them mines as proof it was scheduled for that day. Nearly 3hrs later I get to the room to have my child. They missed my spine "3" times with the epidural & by time they got it,I was in more pain than usual. I had my child & I explained to them I was very nauseous & they told me that was a "Side effect of a c-section"...As soon as I said that,I puked all over myself several times. Instead of just helping me clean myself up because that was very embarrassing, they handed me a few towels & a new gown so I can do it myself. Fast forward a bit,I was complaining about how my legs still felt really numb after the epidural. They told me to give it some time, but by then it was 4hrs later. The next day after me still complaining about the numbness, they called in a neurologist & I had to go thru that examination. They told me I was given to much of the epidural & instead of hitting the "Right Spot" they missed all times which is why I was in so much pain. When it was my day to leave, cause I did stay a few days passed the normal time, one of the nurses who came to discharge me tells me "Did I have fun"...I asked her what she meant by that...She tells me "She never seen anyone stay this long without any issues after having a baby"..I was "Beyond" shocked & when I asked for her name, she tells me "She doesn't have to give it to me" & when I looked for her ID,she tells me "I have no badge "!!! Before I left,I tried to report her,& her supervisor was not available & I was told "If I were to report her,it's not like it's would be looked at"!!! I would "NEVER" recommend this hospital for any type of services dealing with your pregnancy. Even tho I left the hospital a few days pass my normal time,I still had issues with walking & I had to use a walker & had to go to physical therapy so I can gain the strenght back in my legs. The staff it very rude & they do not care for your needs at all. Yes my child did make it here safely, but if I had to rewind,I would have never came to this hospital!!!

Was admitted for syncope. Bed alarm set, told not to get out of bed without staff. Hurt all day waiting on EEG to be done, was told couldn't have meds that might effect the CNS until after EEG. Called for pain meds about 4:50pm after test was done & about 5:00 for assistance to bathroom. After calling a few times I set bed alarm off by standing & sitting back down. Someone finally came to assist me to bathroom about 5:30, I passed out again, dont know how long I was out. When I woke up I crawled to the bathroom & crawled back to bed. I was crying hysterically still asking for something for pain. When my nurse came she said she was only told once that I called & apologized repeatedly & I'm still asking for my pain meds. I told them I want to go home, then I could take my own pain meds & wouldn't have to bother them. I called my daughter to come get me, then the staff said I was being discharged & a Dr. said for me to see a psychiatrist, I told them I already see one. I think its messed up that a patient calls more then once & her nurse only gets one message. Yes I was very upset & crying hysterically, removed my own hyplock & demanded to be released, but that's no reason for staff to repeatedly tell me I need to see a psychiatrist. Being from medical profession I know they will CYA (cover your butt). All but one of my Doctors are Ochsner doctors & they are AWESOME, but the staff at the hospital in Baton Rouge needs work.

Incorrectly diagnosed twice in this emergency room even after explaining that I had asthma and was having pain in my chest and difficulty breathing. I was sent home twice with no treatment and advised to rest. I went to Baton Rouge general and was diagnosed with a severe upper respiratory infection and given steroids to boost my lung function. I started feeling better quickly after that. I contacted ochsner to advise them of the missed diagnosis and was advised that they basically weren’t going to look into it, and were still going to bill me for both visits. This hospital could have killed me if I followed their advice and didn’t know better. Avoid this place at all costs.

Amy Lytle

Everyone has been friendly but I don’t like how they don’t discuss doing test with the family when the patient is not alert. All hospitals do this and don’t really present choices for the patient and family. I feel there were things that could have been monitored better like blood sugar levels. But no hospital is perfect and overall it was a okay experience. Ochsner has easy access for family to visit so that’s why we come here.

Went in with a serious abscess below my jaw, hoping they'd drain it like our lady of the lake did for me 2 years ago. However, I waited for 4 hours, got 1 ct scan, waited another hour, and they doctor finally came in to tell me I had an abscess and no one was capable of making an incision to drain it. For one I went to the dentist prior to this and I already told him it was an abscess and two what was the point in running lol those tests if you knew you couldn't do anything anyway? He proceeded to offer me an unaffordable ambulance ride to the out lady of the lake. -.- now its 1 in the morning and I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try to get an actual professional to fix this. Thanks for wasting my time.

The staff has ALWAYS treated our family with respect and have always been caring. Lord willing, we will never use one of the other local hospitals. (I worked for one of them over 5 years!) Thank you to the staff, doctors, nurses, everyone at Ochsner's for taking good care of my family, including my parents and mother-in-law!

TIFFANY RANSOM

I have been working at ocshner hospital for 3 months now and I must say it's a great caring environment. The doctors and nurses and housekeeping and food service are awesome employees

Alisa Coley

Their labor and delivery section of this hospital is god awful! I'm pregnant with my first child and my entire pregnancy thus far I've had some serious complications and every time I try to call and leave a message with my midwife I NEVER get a call back. You'd think they'd be a little more concerned about someone who could've been possibly misscarrying their child, but I guess that's my fault for assuming they actually cared about their patients. Going to pick up my records today and transferring to Womans where I know they will treat me with great respect.

Felisha Gutierrez

This hospital reminds me of charity hospital in new orleans before they shut it down...it's a dump!! But I'm sure the patients made it that way...and employees just get sick of seeing people who waste their time every day!

My husband was brought by ambulance to the ER in Baton Rouge medical center we have been many many times there. However, yesterday July 28, 2016.We were fortunate to have an awesome medical team to attend us. The young man who was his nurse ( so sorry I forgot his name )but his brother is with LPSO) was very compassionate. He explained things and he made us feel very compfortble If I had a question he answered it to the best of his ability. The cardio that was with My husband doing test ( in ER) was very very professional explaining the procedure that we had never seen. The whole team in room 14 was awesome I commend them all and thank you for your compassion.

Natalie Camardelle

Hands down the best hospital in Baton Rouge! My mom and I experienced just about every department with my dad since October. Everyone was and is wonderful with keeping us as stress free as possible as we journey through this storm. After the first surgery in October, my mom and I knew he was in good hands with the second surgery that he is recovering from today. ICU, Telemetry, Respiratory, X-ray, OR, ER, Cardiac Cath Lab, Med/Surg, Ladies and Gentleman at the Entrance desk, Med Records, Billing Dept, Pre-Op, Recovery, Lab, Housekeeping, YOU ALL are ROCKSTARS!

Kelly christian

I love ochsner , the system online is amazingly great! I love that I can organize all my appointments, see my test results and communicate with my providers. Its easy for all providers to see my records . I just love it! the hospital was great during a procedure i had in New orleans. Ive never been treated better medically.

As I was waiting to see my family I was starting to get worried I went to ask the security officer if they have a social worker as she was talking to him I didn't know that at the time and they both looking at each other saying social worker hahaha. ..so I sit here for another 3 an half hours as the man aka social worker ask me if I ever see my family and I told him no I been waiting for hours so sad needless to say the social worker new I needed him and never introduced himself very bad communication skills

Ok. Where do I begin?...I arrived around 7:15pm to bring my son to be seen due to taking a blow to the head and being tackled during his high school scrimage football game. He had to be assisted by the staff out of the vehicle to the wheelchair because of the amount of excruciating pain that he was in. After being triaged and placed in a room. He remained in pain and in tears the whole time. I had to practically begg for an X-Ray because all the doctor was willing to do was physically pop his "possibly" dislocated shoulder in place and when I questioned her on why would she not get and X-Ray first, she appeared to be upset! I also requested a MRI, and the response I received from her was "oh we don't do that here unless it's an emergency". Now... here you have a 16 yr old teenager, whose shoulder is obvious swollen, not to mention the whole left side of his body is in pain when touched, and can barely stand....and you don't think that this is an emergency??? Why? Is it because this is not your child? Or is it because he's a Medicaid recipient? After going back and forth with the doctor on the reason i felt the need to do further studies, i finally was offered a CT scan. We were sent home and told to follow up with our primary care physician. Thanks but no thanks!! I will never come back here. I wouldn't refer a dead dog here. THANKS DR. BERGERON for being "Rude, unconcerned, inconsiderate and for having no compassion!!! This Hospital is horrible!!!

Earlier this month one of my good friends had her second open heart surgery. She had the procedure at Ochsner medical center. I contacted the gift shop to send her something and the lady I talked to was VERY accommodating AND friendly!

My 81 year old mother in law fell and broke her arm. We chose to go to Oschner because we had had good experiences in the past. This occasion, however, I will call it mediocre. Let me begin by saying, I understand triage. But here you have an 81 year old patient with several medical conditions including diabetes. We were there for one hour before an actual Dr. came in to speak to her and ordered x-rays. 2 hours later they came and brought her to x -ray. and 2 hours after x-rays, she was given a splint by 2 aides that had clearly never splinted this type injury before. In all, we were there for over 5 hours. Then, we were told to follow up with an orthopedic surgeon in their group. In fact, they told us they made an appointment for us. On our discharge papers, it gave the name of the Dr, and an appointment time. I was slightly impressed that they could make an appointment at 1:00 in the morning but highly suspicious. The following morning, I called to confirm the appointment, as I suspected, there was no appointment. I was told they could see her the following day. I politely declined their kind offer and called Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic; they took her right away. We were in and out in a little over an hour.

Ty Taylor

Im in the emergency room as I speak and they don’t have many people in the waiting area but the receptionist soon as I walked in said there was gonna be a wait and it’s 4 am I got here at 3am and still haven’t even seen triage yet I wouldn’t recommend this emergency room to know one people are sick and they aren’t doing there jobs!

I usually come here with panic attacks at night. It is easy to be treated as a drug addict, but they ask the right questions to make sure you get the right treatment. The ER is older, but they have made technological improvements. They always make an effort not to admit you to the hospital to avoid high costs. Billing is handled quickly and easily and you have all your forms and prescriptions when you leave.

Jovon Wilson

My wife cried for hours because of the way she was treated at this hospital! We decided to leave and go to another hospital before being discharged or even seeing the doctor. My wife was having trouble breathing. A guy came out to stop us and at first I thought he was there to help then he said come on man clearly shes intoxicated. My mind was blown! I just picked my wife up from work and she wasnt drinking. We only been there for about 20 mins. And they had attitudes, clearly not there to help us. I would never return here ever!!! I wouldn't let an ambulance take me there. They diagnosed my wife the moment they laid eyes upon her. You should be ashamed!!! By the way inflammation in the lungs. Got that news from a real hospital.

This is night 2 that my 80 year old grandfather has been here. The nurses are all very sweet and understanding. They conversate with him and make him feel comfortable. They make sure he gets all of his meds and they do his vitals promptly. His doctor is working hard to getting him better! The front desk staff and the security guards are sweet too! Everyone I have encountered here has made me feel comfortable about having him here. The gift shop is so cute! They dont have a lot of things but they have a good selection of jewelry, candles, baby gifts, some clothes and other stuff. This hospital is clean. "I am satisfied with my care" ( big hero 6 reference) lol Thank y'all!

Jacob Callegan

Had to take a friend for a broken ankle and had a pleasant experience as much as you could have going to an ER .

Marilyn Kelly

I came in due to an injury in my knee which has chronic issues due to my military service. The Nurse Practitioner told me they do not treat chronic pain. When I tried to explain that I wasn't there for chronic issues because it had just been injured she literally just walked away. She didn't even listen even tho I have massive swelling all around my knee and down my leg.

Sharyn Richard Wilcox

Physicians and staff are competent and caring. They take time with patients and never rush through the examination. Staff is kind and courteous.

Cassandra Benoit

Oh my!! Where do I begin? Members of staff at this hospital is like Family to us. I love this place, everyone is always so respectful, caring, informative. I birthed my 3 kids there and could not choose better Drs, Midwives or Nurses. These people are so genuine and humble it is not even funny. My OB/GYN is absolutely AHMAZING!!!! Dr. Erin is an

I had two kids here. The OBGYN departments is wonderful. Although I gave them so much hell for the pain I was in, it wasn't their fault, it was my stubborn baby fault. When I came in my delivery morning from contractions they immediately put me in the room, got me undress, and checked to see how far I was. When they realized I was close they immediately rushed me into the room to get ready for delivery. When my paper work was taking too long to come back the doctors did what they could to keep me calm because my paper work is my life. It tells the doctors what I can and can't use or take. I had my babies with a room full of people enjoying the labor and delivery experiences with family. I love this hospital, if labor and delivery wasn't so painful I'll make sure they deliver every child I will have. But I don't want that many kids so I just see them when I can. Love that Oschner.

Overall workers should leave a good impression on me and I should always feel welcome at a hospital for help. Employees should always believe in inform consent and parent/patient choices. The staff is a important part of the experiences there. So keep up the good work!

Marc Carpenter

Went last night son check in when they checked his fever was 102.0 and they gave him Tylenol which I did at home and did not help his fever which I told them and they still gave him Tylenol and an hour later they release him with a 101.2 fever and said it's a virus forget you he's still running fever and rotating Tylenol and motrin like they said is not helping and his pediatrician said he should have not been released with that kind of fever they should have kept him till it was 98.0 to 99.9

Ty Turner

Nurses are kind and professional, ALL their doctors that we've seen are HORRIBLE. Rude, unprofessional! One doctor came into my 91 year old mom's room coughing and sneezing and obviously running a fever, and ADMITTED THAT SHE HAD THE FLU, but was 'getting over it'! I asked her to STEP OUT of the room! I've had my mom there 3 times, but THAT was the LAST time. Every doctor we've encountered has been rude, unprofessional and a disgrace to their profession! The LAKE is worse, the Baton Rouge General BlueBonnet is your best bet in Baton Rouge, BUT I'd give them 3 stars.

Nancy Haas

I live in Brookhaven Ms about 2 hours from Baton Rouge. I get all of my medical at Ochsner. I had blood clot surgery in 2017 and after I was released I had a stroke, this was due to A-fib that no one knew I had. My local hospital got me back to Ochsner and after 3 months I returned to work. Ochsners took very good csre of me. In fact in 4 days I am having surgery there again. I have complete faith in them and my doctor. I started using Ochsner about 40 years ago in New Orleans. In my opinion Ochsners is the best hospital anywhere.

i had a horrible experience yesterday getting an esi here. got there at 830 am as requested - not till pushing 11:30 finally got to the procedure and no one gave me any anesthetic or local anything to numb the pain. TALK ABOUT FEELING THE NEEDLE! then they couldn't wait to get me out of there -oh yeah caught my arm in the fluoroscope found out later they had to get the operating suit ready for another doctor by 12pm ONLY USE THIS LOCATION AS A LAST RESORT! Nurses and doctors arguing about who was late and other nonsense-not a kind word out of any of them just hurry up and get out use at your own risk

Super amazing

Mother had knee surgery. Staff was never consistent. Mitzi with respiratory was very argumentative when questioned about why treatments weren't given as scheduled. Staff always had justification for why their jobs weren't being done completely and became very defensive of each other when a complaint was made. Medications were never given on time, and we had to ask for bandages to be changed. Basically put, everybody is doing what they want to do, and no one is supervising their actions or holding them accountable. A lawsuit waiting to happen!

2 weeks ago, i was volunteering..& I just about cut my fingers off w a skill saw, all the way to da bones & was rushed here, I was in the back & being worked on in less then 5 mins.although, they didnt have the specialist i needed, they kept me very comfortable, cleaned my wounds & rushed me to Metairie. La. Where The specialist was located. The nurses & Drs were, pretty incredible, nicest nurses ever!! That's the best I've ever been treated at a hospital, to be completely honest, & I'm very accident prone... ive been to many.

I gave birth here a month ago, the delivery room bathroom had someone else's blood all over it when we first got there. The room we were placed in after delivery, that bathroom had someone else's blood all over the shower! The staff there misinforms new mothers about a lot of information, including the misinformation to NOT clean my newborns belly button. My delivery and labor experience was great, but the stay afterwards was absolute hell! I will NEVER have another child here. I will also NEVER recommend this place to any new mother. I was also told my new born did not have jaundice, but upon arriving at her pediatrician we were informed that she DID in fact have jaundice. I hope this facility changes it's ways for the sake of other mothers and their babies health. Though I doubt that seriously will happen. Absolute disgrace to have a labour and delivery center so unclean and unfit.

For one I really try to never give a bad review but this time I am having to make an exception. I have used Ochsner quite a few times for myself and have typically been ok with the service. This past Sunday I convinced my husband to use them instead of going further into BR. He was running a 104.3 temp all night and even though I managed to get it below 100 I felt he needed to be seen by a MD. First the MD we saw was so very UNPROFESSIONAL it was disgusting. She would not listen that he had started a new antibiotic, told me that the temp "was just a number" nothing to worry about and discharged him. We followed up with an allergist who immediately took him off the antibiotic (I had him quit it Sunday) and gave him shots to counteract the allergic reaction! I was going to just drop this but then today Ochsner calls to find out how our experience was and hung up on me when I started telling her!!!!!!! Fat chance you'll see us again! Cannot believe a place (that I have constantly defended) could be that bad.

This place is FILTHY!! There're "Incredibly" slow as hell!! The people to treat you are Not Doctors their Nurse Practitioners, and all they do is lollygag until they feel like getting around to you! If you go there sick be prepared to return home near death!! I Will "Never" go to this Hospital again Ever!! Go to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital they're wonderful!! BTW Ochsner, don't reach out to me with your phony bologna setup apology textlines!!

I made an account just to write this review. I went to the ER here today with excruciating back pain and abdominal pain which was told to 3 nurses. The MD, Dr. Bergeron came in, felt around my tummy and told me she didn't really feel like this was "emergency" and to try a gastro. While she questioned me of some of my symptoms, 3 other people were in the room. Now i am at home, still in terrible pain with no relief or any kind lead way on what might be wrong except that it might be my stomach. If im not mistaken in this area I have plenty organs that could cause this pain. I don't just go to the ER for the likes of it.

Just left the emergency room after waiting for 5 hours and 45 minutes without being seen. My husband was bitten by a poisonous spider that has his entire arm from his shoulder down, at least 2 times bigger if not more plus a huge nasty infection pocket and they couldn't even treat him somewhat at all. Beyond ridiculous and I will never return to this rundown, incompetent place

Great place!! Came in with an actual EMERGENCY and was treated and in transfer to NCC within 45 mins. Every staff member was knowledgeable kind and understanding. Grateful I came to oschner.. every nurse, doctor, care tech, radiology tech in every department ( ICU, surgical unit, and ER.) just FABULOUS!!! Thank you for quick accurate care. I am thriving in neuro rehabilition because of the care I received from you guys at the beginning!

The older lady Becki or Betty takes entirely too long to come and do the shots. After the doctor left for her to come she took, at the least, thirty minutes. I waited longer for her than I did for the pediatrician. What’s worse, I stood in the hallway by our door to kind of speed things up because my daughter had the pink eye, did not feel good and was very eager to leave. That did not work. She just kept strolling, with not even a slightest bit of urgency. Even after she saw my infant fussing and crying she never picked her pace up! She’s friendly enough when she does the shots but she obviously doesn’t value anyone’s time. Everybody else, GREAT!!

They miss diagnosed me with a mixed hiatle hernia saying it was an ovarian syst and gave my husband the wrong treatment for a serious infection in his nose and upper jaw. I'd rather be seen by the vet! Where is VIRGLE from the walking dead when you need him?

I took my mom here in the middle of the night after she was experiencing shortness of breath which I assumed was due to her COPD. Our experience in the ER was ok. The doctor there suggested that she be admitted because she was breathing too many times per minute and he wanted her to be stabilized before sending her home. Once she made it to her room, the nurse working the late shift took good care of her and was very attentive, but after the next shift came, it was like everyone was clueless. No doctor has came to check on her since the previous night in the ER. She complained about a headache to a nurse and it literally took the nurse multiple hours to come back with Tylenol even with us reminding her that my mom said she was in pain. Everytime we try to ask for information on what their agenda was with her or if a doctor is around to check on her, we get told that one 'should' be on the way, then the nurses just disappear again for long periods of time. It's like no one knows what's actually going on and they're just giving vague and generic responses to stall time until the next shift or something. The only thing that's really happened since she was admitted to a room was that they served her breakfast and lunch. And even with her lunch, a nurse had to call the cafeteria to let them know that they forgot to bring her a tray. All I can say is that this has been a pretty bad experience. No one has been rude or anything like that, but just it's pretty concerning that no one seems to know what's going on and we simply just want to know how long they plan on keeping her and what their plan is to treat her. The answer for everything is just "I have to check with someone" or "The doctor will let you know" and they just disappear and we never get an answer. They DID make sure that the someone from the billing department visited the room, however.... You know it's a bad sign when it literally takes them 2 hours to bring their patient of Tylenol. It really just seems like this was just a hotel stay rather than an actual medical stay, due to the lack of information that the staff seemed to have and how we were given the run around anytime we asked something. If we have any further medical emergencies, I won't think twice to drive a few miles further out to go to the much more modern Our Lady of the Lake or something rather than go here again. Such a shame because our visit started off decent(considering it's a visit for a medical emergency). The ER staff was friendly, attentive, prompt and informed. The same could be said about the nurse assigned to my mom during the late night. But it went from that to being left forgotten in bed. I guess I should note that before I came to Ochsner, we went to a urgent care clinic. The doctor there told us to go specifically to Ochsner because he felt they needed to run some more tests on her ASAP. I asked the doctor there if Ochsner was a decent place and he hesitated and said "Um.... well, it's the closest one to here and I think she needs to have care administered as quickly as possible." And this doctor said he used to work there!

Doctor seemed unconcern about me. Did not listen to me. She did very little to address my concerns. She told me to follow up with my primary doctor( who I gave her her name and what town she was in) she failed to listen then and put a doctor from North Carolina. My doctor and myself are from Oklahoma. On blood thinners and she failed to even check for possible bleeds. Thank God my Doctor cares and is in the process of helping me.

I gave it a 1 as there was no rating for my response a huge thanks to the other reviewers I avoided Ochsners in BR. I do feel this avoidance probably saved my life. The negative far outweigh the positive and appears they have a huge problem.
