On Tuesday past, I had an appointment with Ochsner's Coumadin clinic, as I was leaving the building, I suddenly became nauseous, light-headed, and weak. I staggered, out of breath, to front desk where I was immediately attended to, one of the nurses came to get me, and did a meticulous job of taking care of me and listening to my ailments. She called me to make sure that I had gotten home safely, and even called the next day to see if I was feeling better. Thank you Ochsner of Baton Rouge, for your KIND, CARING, PROFESSIONAL STAFF.

Okay this hospital is great. I just have one co.plaint about one individual nurse. Her name is Terri I'm not exactly sure of her last name but I can describe her as short and chunky with short hair. She was ,let's see it's kind of hard to explain but I will do my best ,she's rude without being exactly rude she was my nurse on the day shift for the two days that I was admitted she actually made me feel like I just was not wanted there and that I was anussiance to her I qimmediately wanted to leave to go to a different hospital but I was is such bad shape health wise I did not want to take that chance she did not give me what I needed to help me with my pain as i know what i need and what helps me the best because i have been hospitalized many times mostly for kidney stones that were lodged in the passage way from my kidney to my bladder that were at the size of 10mm, and had another that was 9 mmr and the was 7mm very painful but I took what she offered and she said if it didnt work that she would give me what I asked for and I honestly tried it and it did not help after two hours and I told her it didnt work well she neverbroyghr me anything else and said there was nothing else she could do so I was mad and I cried she was not sympathetic although she tried to act like she was but you could tell it was fake so anyway I sat there and suffered in pain and everytime she came I my room she was mean and rude and I heard her hollering at an d man across the hall that looked to be in his late 80's to early ninetys all day long he seem like he was in alot of pain and he was asking for help and she was hollering g at the top of her lungs as that she already gave him pain medicine e and she wasn't giving him anymore and he need to shut his mouth if she us gonna continue to work there I wi never go there again worse experience with her thereby overall the slrest of the staff that was helping me were the best I could have ever asked for thank Bryan the charge nurse and a thank you to nikki the tech nurse and that to the respiratory nurse ididnt catch her name I thi k it may have been sheikaor sherry she was very helpful you guys did a great awesome job. Worst experience ever.... the medical staff was unorganized and arguing. I over heard a medical staff member talking about me because my husband provided her with the wrong ID. Both medical doctor on duty did not physical exam me which led to the wrong diagnosis. My services was being rushed because they had two patients being flown in by helicopter. STOP RUSHING AND LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS!

Before meeting with the doctor for my appointment, my partner called and informed me he was outside. I alerted the nurse and to tell the front desk to let him in the back so we could speak with the doctor together. He was purposely kept from joining me which forced me to speak with the doctor alone. While meeting, I made multiple attempts to resolve the issue but the doctor and other staff were more than disinterested. The appointment was rushed and if I’m being honest a waste of time. After leaving the appointment I was informed by my partner that he was told “her appointment is almost over, she walking out.” I was incredibly disappointed and so was he. This experience was terrible and made us rethink choosing Ochsner. We chose this hospital for a more personable experience and these past few visits, especially this one, has been everything but that.

Our mother was cared for by Ochsner's ICU Team and we could not ask for a better team of doctors or nurses. They treated our family and mother with the utmost care and respect from mother's ER arrival by ambulance to her transition to the ICU Unit. The ICU team worked cohesively to keep us informed of our mother's changes and care. Nurse Practitioner Eric was key in keeping us aware of out mother's situation to the best of his abilities with the utmost care and patience.Nurse Rebecca was the most kind and caring nurse from Day 1. But when I arrived I didn't want to take the elevator so I asked the staff at the front where the stairs were located and i was surprised to find out using the stairs in this building is not allowed and the stairs are only for emergency use only. This is the first health center I've ever visited where you are not allowed to use the stairs.

I went in not doing well i knew i needed a iv and i couldnt eat, i went in and begged the doctor for the iv he wouldnt give it to me, he gave me a pill so i could eat then sent me home it cost me 600 dollars. the next day i was even dying more i went in begged and begged the people to see whats wrong. they finally dead my kidneys were almost shut down, they gave me a iv and i finally could eat real food. So yes im very greatful for there help the 2nd time. the first time 600 dollars for 1 pill and wouldn't give me a iv and i had to go in again. i asked if i could pay some less cause i dont have health insurance they will not budge off the 600 dollars. i payed all the money for when they actually helped me but cant help at all with the 600 dollars i dont mind paying some money for there time and services but really 1 pill and maybe 5-10 minutes of the guys time 600 dollars i was charged.

I went to their emergency room with extreme pain in my groin and stomach. The nurses were very friendly. Especially the one who tried so hard to get my blood bc I was severely dehydrated. I was as honest as I could be with all of them. The doctor was young, never examined me just basically had his mind made up that I had an STD them goes in the next room and laughed histericlly until the nurses were trying to calm him down. I put my clothes back on and left in tears from embarrassment. It was already difficult for me to go and share this type of information with anyone and to have him do what he did makes me wonder why he ever became a doctor in the first place. There was also another patient who was complaining to a security guard about him. I'm still in severe pain laying in bed at home. I've called an attorney that seems to be very interested in the matter.

My level of care and experience from Ochsner has not been good. Most doctors do not listen. I have been abandoned by nurses in post-op and not taken seriously on pain and pain management. The experiences has left me traumatized with recurring nightmares and high anxiety on returning visits. Most suggested surgery does not go as planned and a second or third surgery is required to correct the problem, all at the patients expense.

One of the nastiest hospitals I've ever been to In My Life. I waited in the waiting room and it smelt so bad after an hour and a half of waiting in the waiting room to see the doctor I decided to leave. I explain to the staff why I was leaving they said they understand they were sorry but this hospital is certainly a one-star. Also, it's so cold that the staff has heaters under there desk. Some paitients were wrapped with blankets that they brought with them. The staff was extremely friendly and very professional. At one time, this was the place to go for emergency care. So sad that is not the case today.

My family and I have been using Ochsner facilities in Central, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans since 2010.. The drs and nurses are wonderful.. They take the time to get to know you as a person and a patient.. They reach out to you by phone with test results or any important information regarding your care.. I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes in the waiting room before being taken back to see the dr.. I will not take my children anywhere other than Ochsner even though there are other medical facilities closer.. I will not go anywhere else either.. No matter which facility I go to, each one can see all medical procedures i have had done and all medications I have.. Go to Ochsner and see for yourself..

The nurse never says hi back, but today she found the urge to lecture me for being 19 and having my mom involved in my life, not knowing everything about a colonoscopy even though she only repeated my answer back to me, and told me about her personal life since she has a son my age who goes to the same school as me. First of all if my mother did not call I would be waiting 6 weeks while I'm bleeding rectally for a follow up appointment, after my mother called they happened to find time for me that week, that let me know right away that the office did not respect me. To be told that I need express my pain and bleeding when I am there for those reasons does not make sense. If I go to the ER I get handed another patient's contrast for a CT scan, and I only get told I need to set up a follow up. I have been chasing my tail with this, just being told to wait and not being listened to. Also for the nurse to reveal her personal life is extremely unprofessional, I am not her child and never will be, if her son is having issues being away from home that doesn't affect me in any way or form. Go to Ochsner and you will be discriminated based on age, if you are an adult by all means go they will listen to you, if you are a young adult you can just forget it its going on three months of pain and rectal bleeding and the only thing they can conclude is that I don't need to talk to my mother anymore about how I feel, only the nurse who isn't available 24/7 isn't that helpful.

I made the decision to have Ochsner deal with all my pregnancy needs, because I wanted a smaller facility than Woman's. Woman's is a great hospital, but it didn't fit the bill for what I was looking for. I couldn't be happier that I chose to go with Ochsner. The staff is great. They were all very attentive, informative, and accommodating. After I had my baby. We ended up having to bring him to the ER, just 48hrs after being discharged (Preemie issues). We again decided to go back to Ochsner to take care of us because of our previous experience and because of their existing familiarity with our baby. This choice meant that we had to pass many other qualified ERs, but to us, it was worth it. Upon arrival, he was immediately admitted to NICU and they have been very thorough in their evaluation of him and as frustrating as it can be to have to wait, they are taking care not to release him until they know all is well. Michelle (a nurse in NICU) was absolutely fantastic. She has stood out among all of the other staff. She was especially attentive to both our son and us (his parents). She went above and beyond what her job requires of her, and we couldn't be happier with the care she provided. If I had to do it all over again, I would once again trust Ochsner for all my prenatal and neonatal care.

Useless ER... Long wait times...ER doctor thinks everyone is a opioid addict! They didnt really do anything to help my wife. They only gave her pain meds when she was leaving. Nurse tore my wife's skin to start a iv line then rubbed it with alcohol! Also the ER room had to be 50 degrees or less. I dont know why it's hard to find a caring hospital in this city.

I had an ultrasound scheduled first with a following doctors appointment... I ended up being there waiting with my 3 small children for 3 hours. Had I known there would have been only one midwife present that day I would have gladly moved my appointment. We drive from Covington, an hour away, which made my total trip that day 5+ hours. Plus my midwife that day, although apologetic, seemed uninterested in anything I had to say, and was not very verbal or informative herself about the appointment or ultrasound. I felt that day was a complete waste of time.

Saints, Priests, and Watchmen.

Set up like a McDonald’s. You walk in and there’s no desk to check in at. Just booths where people are already being spoken to. So you just kind of stand there waiting to be called to enter triage. In triage their process of figuring out who you are and what you need is good. Then, they will send you to a room with multiple people with similar needs. A large room with X-ray patients waiting like you are. Then you get to X-ray fast. Then you sit in the same room with the other pateints again. No room. No doctor. No info. Then comes your discharge papers. Everyone is the same. Get you in and out. Etc. So I left and went down the road to an after hours clinic. The small boutique clinic found infection in my finger. If Ochsner were less in a hurry to get me out of there, they would have seen the infection too. It’s sad when an urgent care has better bed side manner than a hospital.
