Dr Ritter is very rude and talks and looks at you like you're stupid!! I was very upset on how he handled the situation. Then come to find out that he should have admitted the child that was with me and he didn't. My friend is very much thinking of suing the hospital for the doctor NOT doing his job!! The nurses and staff are great but the doctor not so great!!!!!! I will NEVER go back to Avoyelles Hospital.

I recently went in for my yearly Mammogram last Friday. I went in at 10:15 am and was out by 10:45 am. Trista was kind, patient, and professional. I feel lucky to have this level of care close to home.

Nurses were unprofessional. This place is disgusting. How dare you laugh at someone who can't breath and get mad when they can't answer.

While on military leave had to go in with my wife on 1 April 2015 after a tractor ran over her foot. An x-ray was taken but we were told no one was on staff to actually read the x-ray (so why take an x-ray other than to charge our insurance). We later learn, at our military clinic her foot is broken in two places. My wife was given a support shoe which was the wrong size (too small) and the wrong side shoe (gave her a right shoe for her left foot). We had to ask the staff if they could actually give her some crutches. To top it all off, they wouldn't write her a prescription for ANY pain meds even though we had a 16 hour drive home the next day-did I mention we're military. The nurses and staff were friendly but the service was lacking. The best thing was we were in and out fairly quickly.

Worst hospital I've ever been to. Treated me with Tylenol and Robitusum. My blood pressure was 157/114 and they only checked it once upon admission. Never monitored it or Rx me medication for it.

Avoyelles hospital is a small hospital. The staff are friendly but the hospital is just lacking in so many ways. Especially the ER. I had a doctor walk out for 20 minutes in the middle of giving me stitches one time. If you are in any kind of pain do not go to this hospital. They are very reluctant to help.

I went there last night for a severe ear ache and the Dr on call was a Dr Ritter. The rudest Dr I have ever come in contact with knowing my ear was hurting he was very rough with my ear. He had the worst bedside manner. He asked me questions and he actually yelled at me. So I will never go back to this hospital again.

My fiance went here a few weeks ago because he had been throwing up all day at work. One of the doctors told him to lay back and lift his shirt so he could check his chest. He began pressing on his chest and stomach asking if it hurts and he told him no nothing hurts im just really nauseated. So he began to go further down his stomach pressing on him and he told him another time that nothing else is bothering him so he lifted up his pants and looked into his pants. My fiance asked him what was the point in that. He kept stating he wasn't hurting, so what's the point in lifting his pants. The doctor said he was just checking to make sure he was okay. He done it once more looked into his pants and went to touch him until he turned away and told him to stop once more that none of that had to do with him vomiting. He proceeded to leave but first asked for an excuse being that he had to leave work early and they refused him and made smart comments. My fiance got upset and told them that it made no since how any of them was treating him and they threatened to call the police on him.

They don't deserve a star but to write a review you have to put one. Well let me just say this place should of been shut down. They gave my grandfather the wrong medicine that almost killed him, my dad was brought in with serious medical issues and they did nothing about it, he was finally transferred to cabrini and they said a few minutes longer with no treatment he would of died. My daughter had X rays done on her finger 5 times an everytime they said it's sprung well X ray #6 I brought her to rapides and come to find out she had juvenile rumataorid arthritis and had to have surgery. Well tonight I brought my other daughter in and the doctor & nurse were very rude and the security officer was steady watching us. I didn't feel comfortable at all. This place is a joke, they not fit to take care of an animal. The attitudes are so bad!!!

I went there for chest pain and anxiety attacks they gave me a tordal pill and sent me home this is the day service and the nite service is awesome they help me out good when i went there for the same problems

There getting better. Docters are getting better. There affaid to get a lawsuit against them they have to get a surgeon to say yes or no before anything.its beST TO DO IT. If they or helping or hurting at least try something instead of shipping you off to another hospital . There plenty good dr.s at That hospital . Just do what you know . GOD HAS YOU. I love all the Nurses and CNA's. Couldn't ask for any better . You can say the nurses was almost good r enough to be a dr. Just dont have it on paper. They are very loving caring people, as far as the food it is very good. they have improved a lot .
