Went to the Emergency room this morning because I fell in the parking lot and hit my head. They got me back and into a room quickly. Got a cat scan and x-ray. Saw the Nurse first and then the doctor. Had to go to the john. They showed me were it was and left me there. Gotback to my room wait a long time. Patched me up and I released me and Mike got me to the car. I was made to feel not wanted anymore.

Incompetence reigns. They are difficult to deal with. They don't care about you. If you value your life, go somewhere else.

I was seen for a motorcycle accident I had a TBI and road rash on my right left and arm. The staff were sarcastic when I brought my helmet in with me. The doctor cared very little about any of my injuries including a severely bruised knee with deep road rash. The nurse slapped 2 pieces of gauze on there with no neosporin he put an ace bandage over top of it wrapped the bandage starting in the middle went up then went down. Care less. Very painful horrible experience as most of my experiences with st Elizabeth doctors in general have been. St Elizabeth is a monopoly so everyone has to go here so they don’t have to care because we don’t have a choice.

I was on the cardiac unit for three days. The staff there including the doctors, nurses, and transport staff were amazing. I was treated like gold. I have not been in a hospital inpatient stay very often in my life but I do think this is the best place I have ever been in. I will be having surgery there next week and although I am a little nervous about that I know I will be in good hands. I can only say thank you to all the staff for their awesome care!

Brandon Migliorisi

I had been going here for many years, service had always been decent. Recently I went in for pain in two places, the nurse physically checked both places and ordered a hospital visit for these areas to be checked out. I went and never heard anything back, I called for a week begging for an answer and the last thing in my chart was "We will have a doctor call you back." That never happened. Now the hospital wants me to pay a bill for something I never got an answer on. When I dispute this I was offered a 10% discount, then a 25% discount because they could see how screwed up my charts is and that no one gave me an answer yet. Then later I was offered a 50% discount. I'm tired of being offered discounts, I WANT A FREAKING ANSWER!!! PLEASE!!! A similar thing happened with St. Elizabeth last year and I had to dispute a $1,250 bill stating I never received help from a doctor (sound familiar?). It took them 7 months to review my chart and the bill before they conceded that I received no help and did not need to pay the bill. GET IT TOGETHER ST. E. Please, people need help and good communication is key. Reach out to your patients with answers, that's why we pay you. For help in the form of verbal response over the phone or in person.

Bill Schneider

Very nice staff!

There are some really excellent people working here, but there is a serious lack of communication among staff members and the patients are the worse for it. If I have a choice, next time I will not return to this ER. On a side note, I spent the night in the ER and between 3:00 am and 6:00 am the staff was chit-chatting loudly about the cases they had seen that night.

St Elizabeth's has a horrible reputation in Northern Kentucky. I am a nurse and had always heard terrible stories among medical professionals but I'm starting to hear more and more lay people talk about their bad experiences. I have had my own bad experiences including my grandma was inpatient and was found unconscious by my sister and a code was called and only one nurse showed up 4 minutes after it was called. I would not recommend St. E's and hope that NKY has more options soon.

Scott Baker

I was admitted here for low back pain, waist and leg numbness. Which is Cauda Equina symptoms which I had never heard of but my care here was unbelievable the nurses were all very caring, my drs were thorough, the hospital was very clean, food was great. Thanks to all the people who took care of me for the 4 days I spent there!! Nothing negative to say here..

The people make this hospital! Helpful staff, nice people and a genuine interest in making sure that patients are taken care of to the best of their ability. Great hospital serving the NKY and Cincinnati communities.

Unprofessional. Didn't take vitals of my infant upon entry while my infant was having trouble breathing. Supposedly my daughter needed an xray although her chest sounded clear and no issues were found. Told me my children didn't have any ailments although both had discolored mucus & nasal discharge. No medications prescribed. Said there was nothing they could do. Completely embarrassing.

BEWARE!!!!! of ST.. Elizabeth hospital!!!!! I'm in the process of suing them! My mother is now a vegetable because they let her have a stroke and fall out of her bed and lay on floor for 15 minutes while the alarms were going off! Left her lay in her own feces. After her stroke, she also has many seizures and is a fall risk, they Left her ALONE ON EDGE OF BED! My sister just happened to walk in and catch her! Nurse never came back!

I hade a bank check sent to St. Elizabeth for 15.00 every month for my account, been doing so for 6 months, talked to a women in billing she said that was fine then I get a final notice from them to turn me into collections went to the hospital 2 times talked to them they could not answer my questions on why they told me to increase the payment to 25.00 said that should take care. No ONE could answer my questions.

I delivered a baby at St Elizabeth in Edgewood KY the other day. It was such a great atmosphere and their team members really made me feel cared for and relaxed. Dr.Martin and I were discussing a book and he came back the next day and had went out of his way to order the book for me and ship it to my house. I was amazed at their hospitality.

A nurse has not been in this room for nearly 3 hours. No update has been provided even though the request was made hours ago. Excessive loudness. Choosing this hospital was a new experience. I question the choice. Would like to contact patient advocate but no number available.

St.E is the best hospital in Kentucky for labor and delivery. I drove one hour for my first and two hours and 15 minutes for my second. I have visited and toured HMH, UK, StJoe Womens, Baptist Lex, Norton Women's in Lou, and Christ Hospital in Cincy... none of them compared to the high standards of St.Elizabeth. They offer LDRP rooms, which are hard to find in Kentucky. There are multiple lactation consultants, so you don't have to wait and struggle when trying to feed your newborn. They offer excellent natural birthing aids and nurses respect and support a mother's birth plan. The hospital is designed with furniture that is more warm than sterile white and provides a safe, welcoming feel. My entire family was welcome (up to 5 visitors) and quiet time was my favorite part of the whole experience. Absolute peace and near-silent time allowed bonding, free of exams. The only thing I did not like was the pushy anesthesiologist team. I did not want an epidural and made this clear by not signing waivers, watching the video, and telling them to get out over and over. During transition, when I was more vulnerable and had asked my family to give me privacy, that is when the anesthesiologist came in and took advantage of my hazed mind. My OB was furious as well once he return from caring for another patient. Nurses, OB, peds, and even cleaning staff were amazing. Just hated the pushy epidural woman.

The entire Outpatient experience for my husband's surger was exceptional. The Pre-Adm., the nursing care, the design of the outpatient departmetn were superb. Thank you. May God bless your ministry.

Went to the er part today.. Got there at 1130 and seen x amount of people did test and at 330 still no results all this time and money wasted...

Not sure about the rest of the hospital but birthing unit is a JOKE! They refuse to admit they do not know how to handle certain situations. My cousin has been stuck there for 6 days because they know they cant send her home but they dont know what to do. And honestly if a hospital brings you a survey to do and says well dont worry about doing it if you're not going to give us all 9's.... sounds like they know they are not that great. Worry about your patients, not your ratings. Clearly you're not equipped to handle these things at least send her to a hospital that is!

I have lived here more than home since September 2017. Kindness, sympathy, compassion I have received from every Department. Everyone makes you feel important!!

Horrible hospital with worse doctor's in world!! We will go across the water for anything, never here again!

Absolutely terrible. Was told I was to stay overnight for pain management and I've been in pain for going on 2 hours. This is pathetic. If I wanted to be in constant pain I would have stayed home. On top of all that my nurse can barely speak English. I cannot understand her. This place is a total joke.

DO NOT HAVE A CHILD HERE!!! GO ELSEWHERE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN. THEY SAY YOU HAVE DRUGS IN YOUR SYSTEM AND IMMEDIATELY CALL CPS BEFORE THEY SEND IT TO THE LAB TO PROVE YOU REALLY DO NOT! THEN AFTER CPS COMES, THE RESULTS COME BACK SAYING IT WAS A FALSE POSITIVE ANF CPS REMIANS IN YOUR LIFE THREATENING TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH! GOOGLE CORRUPT KENTUCKY CPS....

When I was admitted for terrible head pain and left side paralysis. After CT Scan showed it was not a stroke. They put me in a room with no pain medicine or anything for my head pain. I Had an IV port in my arm with no IV hooked to it. When the nurse came in to see me, I asked her for some ibuprofen or something. She said the Dr. Didn't leave any orders for it and they wouldn't be able to get orders until the next day. That if I had some in my purse to take it. So, I took Advil from my purse. The following morning I asked them if I still needed IV port because it was hurting really bad. So, the nurse went in the bathroom, didn't wash her hands, grabbed a piece of toilet paper, came over to me and held the toilet paper on my arm and pulled the IV port out. I'm pretty sure that this is not how it is supposed to be done. This was on a Friday evening into Saturday. The Neurological Dr. Came to see me Saturday afternoon and wanted to get me an MRI, but the hospital couldn't do it until Monday. To me that is just rediculous that a patient in a hospital paying thousands of dollars to be there would have to sit and wait to get an MRI until Monday. This is a hospital for Christ sakes. He said I could go home and come back for MRI on Monday. That is what I did. They ran no other tests while I was there. They didn't try to figure out what was causing the pain or paralysis. Later, another Dr. at another facility did find out that I had swelling of the brain due to an infection and was treated with antibiotics.

Be careful with the janitors working at this hospital. My tablet was stolen when a janitor walked into the room for cleaning. I tried to confront her to give it back but she kept on lying and walked away.

Love love love the Women's Center - kind and respectful staff, kept me informed very completely at every step.

I was admitted on Oct 4th, had surgery on the 6th, then released on the 9th. I list the days; for the reason that I was in pretty bad shape, when I was admitted. Durning my stay, which was spent on the 7th floor. I can't begin tell everyone about how nice and helpful the whole staff was, from the lab technicians and all the nurses, including my Surgeon Dr. Ginny. I only wish I could remember the names of all the nurses who took care of me, so that I could mention each by name and thank them. I remember Rob because he was with me all weekend, and what a great job he did, Finally I would also like to thank everyone for making feel like family, and that even though I was missing being at home, they made my stay feel has close to home has they could. God bless and thank you all.

This hospital is disgusting. The room was dirty, flies flying everywhere. The room next to me had no privacy I saw 3 people go in and be discharged in the few hours I was there and not once saw someone go in and change the sheets. When I first got there they were informed by the emts that I was on the way. They had no idea who I was and I had to wait 15 minutes just standing at the emergency entrance with no room to go in. They were scattering everywhere to prepare. It took an hour for a doctor to even see me. Who literally said to me I don't know why you are here as if I was a bother. The whole experience was unprofessional. I don't recommend.

My mom had her appendix removed at St Elizabeth. The nurses in the second floor never checked on her. She needed the leg blood circulators on her legs and they left them laying on the bed next to her legs for hours. So she laid there for 8 hours when she eventually could figure out how to put them in herself. She pressed the help button and they let it buzz for 30 minutes or more each time while sitting at there desk talking and laughing. Her IV beeped for hours before they came to change it. She had to get up and take the circulators off of her legs herself and get to the bathroom by herself after she just had surgery.

Compass Physicians billing system, in my opinion, needs to be fixed. I keep getting collection notices for a claim that was paid 3/31/2017. No follow up from Compass on my requests to verify they have received payment from my secondary insurance provider.

The nurse staff were helpful once we got back into ER, but the nurses out front and security guard in the lobby area treated me and my fiance awful as we were trying to get him checked in for a kidney stone. (Mind you we had no clue at first what was wrong with him, thus the whole point of trip to ER to get help)....And did I mention we have no family down here what so ever, and hardly know anyone, as we have only lived down here a 2yrs. But nonetheless if you've had a kidney stone you know the unbearable pain it causes. He started vomiting from excruciating pain and why the security guard stayed hoovering over us in the first place I don't know, but he made the nasty rude comment to my fiance while he is literally mid vomiting that "he needed to hold it until the nurse gave him a bag and not to "spit" in the floor". And not in a concerned type of way, a disgusted emotionless type of way. I looked at him in disbelief and asked "can you hold it when you have to vomit? "He merely replied "yes when I need to". Ok so if that wasn't rude and uncalled for enough, then the nurse comes over and grabs the wheel chair while he is still bent over with his stomach muscles clinched and still vomiting uncontrollably she says "you need to sit up so I can wheel you", just as emotionless and unphased as the security guard. At that point I'm obviously aggravated and say "hang on a sec here guys y'all are kidding right?". Never raised my voice, cussed, or acted out in anyway and anyone who knows me knows I'm quiet and keep to myself, the security guard said I needed to calm down and if I don't keep quiet that he will remove me. The intimidation was so uncomfortable for me, if you knew me you'd know I'm shaking and upset at this point. Pretty shocked and just in complete disbelief, I am about 5'5 and weigh a whooping 115lbs, while this security guard was a good 350lbs and 7ft tall. He is still going on and on with me and then motions me to step into a private room to talk to me. What am I going to do tell this guy no? I'm shocked and don't know what is going on. He proceeds to act and treat me like I'm a crazed lunatic that needs to calm down. I would have hated to see what he would have done to me if I had actually cursed or yelled like a crazy person, it was so bizarre, humiliating, not to mention intimidating. He said that being a visitor is a privilege and he could take that away from me. I've never had such an incident in my life. I was hurt, embarrassed, helpless, and shocked to say the least. The last place I thought I'd ever be treated with such disrespect and harassment would be at a hospital where people are suppose to have compassion and help people. We will be filing a complaint with the hospital due to that security guards behavior and our awful experience. What in the world was he doing anyways hoovering over us like we were criminals and reacting that way? Absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for.

What can I say. I was very well taken care of. The Doctors and Nurses.kept me well informed of the do's and don't before and after my surgery. i especially what to tip my Hat to a nurse by the name of Amanda who took care of me if the Heart surgery recovery ward after my surgery.what a great attitude she had. i had open heart surgery and was back to work in four weeks. i was told it would be 6-8 weeks. It was all due to the excellent care and attitude i received at the hospital.

I had my baby here 5 months ago. I had a wonderful experience! Went into L & D and was checked pretty quick, admitted and got my epidural almost immediately (something I worried about my entire pregnancy). Dr. VanNess was my doctor, she was amazing! My son was having dips in his heart rate, and the nurses and dr were right on top of it. I was taken for a c-section because his heart rate dipped low, and if it wasn’t for Dr. VanNess I don’t know what would have happened! The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice. Then I was transferred to another floor for the following days and the nurses were absolutely the best. Every shift change I’d think that I couldn’t get a better nurse, and I was always wrong! Great experience for my delivery and recovery.

terrible hospital. took my sister in law to emergency room because she has been sick, along with hallucinations. after taking her several times they kept sending her home saying she is fine. This hospital is phenomenal! I have been treated with so much respect during a very difficult time in my life. I cannot say enough great things about this hospital, especially the labor/delivery and the NICU. Thank you, St. Elizabeth!

Terrible place to have your child would never recommend to give birth here. They don’t care about the mother or the child. my wife is in pain they do nothing about it. My daughters monitors came off and they do nothing about it. They could really care less about you or your baby their only here for their paycheck. Terrible experience I will NEVER EVER have another child be born here again!

Susan Drahman

I spent this past weekend in the hospital for pneumonia. The care I received during my stay was excellent. However, they sent me home on insulin for my diabetes as oral medications weren't keeping my levels controlled. I have never used insulin before and was give very little education on how to do so. I was told to check my levels before meals and dose with a fast acting insulin according to a sliding scale based on my levels. The sliding scale wasn't in any of my documentation they sent home with me. I had to call and get it over the phone. I was never told how to deal with highs and lows between meals. I was never shown the proper way to use the prefilled injector for my slow acting. I managed to figure that out on my own but I'm still stumbling through between meal lows and highs. Maybe I should have asked more questions, but I was sick and overwhelmed and exhausted and never should have been sent home with medication that could potentially be deadly if used improperly without the proper education. Based on my care during the stay, I would love to be able to offer a higher rating. Unfortunately I cannot due to the danger of the situation I was sent home in.

I had a appointment at the maternal fetal center. Monica did my ultrasound she was amazing!! We laughed and had fun she made me feel so comfortable and I just had to post a review about my experience. I hope if anyone ever has an ultrasound they have her because she was just great. Thank you Monica!!!

Sallie Keeney

Worst experience Ive ever had here. I usually feel very confident and well cared for in my care team if I have to visit this ER. I know it was a very busy night, but I have never been treated so badly and made to feel so unimportant. Only time I have ever left feeling worse than when I walked in

K K

I was very disappointed with the "care" at this hospital. The nurses in the ICU are all extremely rude, and lack any type of compassion that you'd expect from an INTENSIVE CARE unit. Hours would go by and not one staff member checked in. We would have to go searching for someone every time something was wrong. Breathing problems, beeping ventilator, no one came in to see what was going on until we grabbed the first person we could find in the hall. Nurse Bethanne was probably the worst. She couldn't be bothered, was very rude when we asked any questions. But the staff in general was very unfriendly and unprofessional to say the least. Would sometimes wait over 10 minutes to be buzzed in, and when they finally did answer they were very nasty about it. I'm convinced the outcome would have been very different if we would've gone somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend taking anyone you care about to this hospital.

Dr. William Hammons is a horrible primary care physician. He is rude, dismissive and actually has no intent in managing your primary care. He will pawn you off on specialists at his first chance, and mysteriously not follow thru on the results. Do you know what they call the guy who graduated at the bottom of his class in medical school? “Doctor.” Do not trust your care, or the care of a loved one to this man.

Richard Bragg

Went to St E's emergency room Sat, Aug 25. Severe head pain, blurry vision, unable to breathe or walk properly, tightness in chest, constant abdominal/back pain. Numerous justified reasons but I should have first gone to my mechanic's shop for treatment. Give my invisible ER doctor credit (thus the one star review) ; an EKG implied that I was not suffering from major coronary. St's treatment plan for me... I was told to go home and I was to schedule some other type of test!

The people are nice and wonderful for the basics but if you have a serious specialized condition they are behind and a follower on their studies. When Ive been here myself for my epilepsy the place almost killed me and I was saved by childrens hospital. Anytime ive heard of friends experience it wasnt good on the medical side. And when ive seen my relatives go here St E either.... basically doesnt try very hard or doesnt have the specialists or high tech gear to figure out the main problem. Then if they believe all levels are fine they just send the patient home without answers. UC hospitals and Children's have specialists and dont stop until there are answers so those are the only places I trust personally on the medical end. This place is kind but behind. Im not sure what UC hospitals have that St E doesnt but UC knows their stuff medically. Im not sure if perhaps St E just doesnt have equipment or specialists for one zone of study. For instance my problem in epilepsy is for a neurologist because they only study the brain and neurologists have been the only ones to provide answers for my problem. If childrens wasnt around i would still be hunting for answers. If you have something basic like the flu and you need help wonderful place. If you have something that needs specialized help like a diagnoses or a brain problem dont go here.

I cam to the ER on Thursday, May 24th. I was having bloating and stomach pains. I was admitted on 3rd floor room 3330. I hardly saw anyone. I had a GI on Friday,bMay 25th and then the rest of the time I was in my room. I would see a Dr once a day. They changed my sheets today and guess what was at the bottom of bed frame where mattress sits...dried blood. I do have a good nurse but don't see her a lot (Amanda Kennedy). I haven't pushed the nurse button my IV has been beeping for 29 minutes. I almost feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I will now be in here another 2 days for a colonoscopy. It is weird. I'm going to be billed a fortune for absolutely nothing. I want to find answers for my pain but this is ridiculous!!!

shalvez gibson

I think this place is under appreciated. I've only lived in the Northern Kentucky area for a few years but I can tell you the care you receive here (compared to Bathesda and some others) is significantly different. I've had to go through them for multiple occasions from when I was pregnant, loss of my pregnancy and basic care. Each time was warm welcoming and attentive. Even emergency room visits are impressive with how quick you get in and out. My most recent visit is the reason for the review. I went in earlier this morning having complications from breathing to find out I had the flu. They got me in within maybe 15 minutes and were super attentive. The nurse helped get me comfortable during the wait and I was out within maybe an hour and a half. It seems like a long time but it's what I expected with the flu season being so bad right now in the area and the test took 30 minutes. These people are great and I recommend this place.

I didnt know asking the nurse questions was against the rules of the hospital. I asked about when my girlfriend could leave and the nurse was completely rude and unprofessional. The two nurse's she has had so far couldnt answer any of my questions and got mad at me when i showed frustration. I feel like this is more about money than the health of her and her baby....... Update edit.... It gets worse.family traveled 2 and a half hours today to be here and they wouldnt let my girlfriend's mother and sister stay with her when i was willing to go home. Also nursing staff talked badly about me with each other than came and said something about me to my girlfriend when i left for a little bit. Everytime i ask a question about anything i get some kind of attitude and rudeness. Go somewhere else its not worth the headache.i almost forgot the numerous medication they have tried to give my pregnant gf thats bad for fetuses. Like harmful long term.

Danae Kriek

I never have problems usually when I go to the Edgewood location lab. I went to registration and I got stuck with the rudest person I've ever encountered in healthcare. She was seriously so rude and condescending. She clearly doesn't give a damn about patients at all or her job. Every single time that I get registered it takes less than 2 minutes and people are so kind. This time I had to answer so many questions and and show ID and deal with her attitude while doing everything she asked. She was being so difficult about the registration process which isn't hard at all because st. Elizabeth is on top of their game especially with my chart showing up in their systems. From now on I'll be going somewhere else so that I don't have to deal with someone so disgusting and rude while I'm focusing on my health.

Treated my father with care and kindness. A big thank you to the outpatient team

Horrible doctors, go to another hospital! Beware of the ER physicians!

Jessica Trester

Firstly, told the nurse I can't have Tylenol. They gave me Percocet which I later realized had Tylenol in it. Then the doctor didn't numb me all the way for my lumbar puncture. He messed it up so made a second hole. And then they forgot to discharge me.

danielle sanchez

Tomas St. Clair

My nurse Miranda was amazing, but the rest of the staff is some of the most incompetent and rude people. Some of the staff looked like they should patients. Also, why does St E choose not clean anything? Is dingy the new look? Dr Abdul said he sent over an order for ultrasound for gallbladder, but never happened. Somehow, nobody can answer any questions, just a transfer to somebody else incompetent. I've never been treated poorly and even hung up on. An order was never sent, but instead of accepting blame, somehow it's my fault and was hung up on. Can you guys atleast let us know ahead of time that you guys are terrible?
