HaysMed is a ridiculous "hospital". Other than Dr. Yarmer in the ER, they are rude, inconsiderate, dont listen, and only seem to care if u have the proper insurance. This shouldn't even be considered a hospital. I strongly suggest going to Plainville, Or ANY other hospital if u actually expect to be treated like a person rather than a paycheck. Dr. Yarmer u keep saving lives, u r the only good thing in that hospital. God Bless You!

Staff was RUDE! The nurse asked why I didn't want kids and so I told her. I then heard her outside the door laughing about it with other staff and at the doctor! When the doctor brought it up I mentioned I hear them talking in the hall... Made him uncomfortable. Rude, rude rude as I'll get out!

Excellent care with knowledgeable doctors. Excellent cardiac clinic. Receptionists at the nephrology center could be a little bit more kind, however.

They put a heart valve into me and it was perfect

Amazing staff! I got in a car accident while being 6 months pregnant.i broke both my legs. The staff was quick to treat the pain and check on my unborn son. they treated my husband and other 3 children with kindness and the best care. After surgery they were compassionate and determined to help me get around.

Ruth Heffel

Excellent care. Took the time to explain issues.

Extremely upset with the care. I came with my friend, and they had no sense of urgency WHATSOEVER. We waited and waited for them to do anything. When I asked if they could give her some thing for the pain they were rude.

My grandmother is here right at this moment. These people didn't even bother to tell us that her time was limited. We had to HUNT DOWN her health care professional and ask questions just to be told, "oh, well she only has WEEKS left." With NO explanation as to WHY. They will not give us hardly ANY information. Don't blindly send your loved ones here. They will not get better here.

My Dad went in to have cancer removed from his prostate, he also had Atrial fibrillation. They crammed every kind of medication known to man, and he died from it. He had a major bruise from his waste line half way up his arm pit. Then if that was not enough, his intestines quit working. As well when calling the hospital to talk to his nurses and doctors. They would not talk to me about my dads condition. They also upset my Dad and told him that I was calling trying to find out information about his condition. I did talked the doctor once, and stated to me that that my Dad was going to fine. Next thing I know is I get a call from a step brother, that our Dad was dead. I have asked for the toxicology report from the medical examiner. They will not give it to me stating that I have to request it from the executor of his estate. I am his eldest son, and I believe they are hiding something. Keep your loved ones out of this medical center, they are not therapeutic with their patients much less with immediate family member. Please mark my words, stay away from this medical facility. Troy Miller Council Bluffs, IA

This "hospital" is a joke. They dnt care bout the pts they care bout the money the pts have. Having epilepsy i go here alot n the drs just started writtn it off n nt sayn a word. No testing was dne if though the dr seen i had brusies n swelling n my head n leg. Its just pathetic. This place shouldnt even b considered a hospital. If i could drive i would go elsewhere. I hate coming here!

Patty Carver

My husband and I have been treated and have had surgery and procedures here in the past 6 months. We received the highest quality of care and were treated with compassion and kindness. We highly recommend Hays Med. As with any medical visit or medical treatment or surgery, ask questions and keep involved in your own care ..This benefits both you and your healthcare providers .

Expensive care that was very poor. Wouldn't wish anyone to go there. My recommendatin, if I were in a life and death situation drive anywhere else but hays med. Could have superglued better than their stitches. I never needed 30 cc of numbing agent for the syst in my leg. Hell I don't trust them to count out my pills in fear of them failing at that job too.

They push people out of the hospital has fast as they can so you have to come back so they can charge you more and the ER is a complete joke.

Stay away. 1/10. Go to Salina, Wichita or KC. I'm very surprised how Kansas University associated themselves with these guys. My experience and knowledge of this place are bad. They had a worker infected with hepatitis C working for them in anesthesia few years ago. He was a drug addict and used to inject himself with narcotics and then inject the rest of the drug in patients. Several patients got infected. I know several people who had bad experiences at this place. Another thing, they have a very high physician turn-over rate, probably the highest in the state of Kansas. Very few physicians stay long time at this place which is indicative of internal problems that make doctors unhappy and stressed out.

I was admitted to this hospital when I had a massive heart attack. They saved my life. I am very grateful for the nurses and doctors from here. I would recommend this hospital to everyone

This place is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. If I could give the ER negative stars, I would. When I was 7 weeks pregnant, I went into the ER because I was experiencing a ton of abdominal pain. I was hunched over crying in pain and it took them almost an hour and a half to even see me. THEN they ended up diagnosing me with abdominal pain and released me. Abdominal pain? Seriously? That's a symptom, not a diagnosis. I ended up losing my baby 2 days later. These people are extremely lazy and it seems as if they could careless about you. Don't ever go here. I honestly would recommend driving further to another emergency room. You may be driving further, but I guarantee that you'd still be seen quicker than if you would've went to HaysMed ER.

I delivered my baby December 27,17. Best delivery I have ever had. My two nurses did a fantastic job!! They really were kind, sweet and educational. They described why they were doing what they were doing like a learning lesson which I thought was pretty neat bc I've had other children other places and they didn't do anything like that, they were distant! My Dr. Was amazing, when I was pushing I kept looking up with my head up and arching my back--- Dr fort told me what I correctly need to do and why I needed to-- he didn't demand me to just do it like most Drs !! The after care staff was amazing. They really care about you, your baby, and they also they care about your spouse. If we have one more baby we will be back to deliver!! Thank you all!!!

I work there and I know we all strive to provide excellent and compassionate healthcare.

Worst experience EVER!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! If you have a family member in this hospital, make sure they are never left alone! Document every person coming in and out of the room, what they tell you, and what they are doing! Double check ALL medications before they are administered. DEMAND a care plan! Ask you doctor if he is a Locum or if he lives here! They bring doctors in from all over the country to treat hospital patients and your local doctors do not see you! Debakey Heart Hospital is the ABSOLUTE WORST hospital!!

Jennifer Jones

Go somewhere else! This hospital is slow moving, will leave you in pain and just send you onto another doctor anyhow. Shameful for a place who claims to put their patients first.

Dustie Dinkel

Always wonderful!
