Good HealthCare Providers would recommend.

Tanner Galberach

Emergency room was horrible. You have a better shot at fixing your own injury than waiting 5 hours before they see you.

Domonique Echols

I've been going here for yrs. I love my doctor and the service I recieve here has been great.

Fazona Ashurmadova

Thank you for everything and good service

Horrible! Unprofessional incompetent nurses! My son had two nurses. He was in a pretty bad accident and was transferred here from another hospital. The nurses were gossiping and talking abou other patients while admiting my son. One of them seen new to nursing she could not figure out the chart from the other hospital. They left and forgot about him completely. When I went out of the room and asked them if they knew what was going on with his pain and fever medication. They looked at me in surprise and said that they thought he was moved! Such bad experience!

Matt Kearns

Staff are ignorant, Dr.Hutchington should be in jail. Stay away from that doctor he is weirdo and freak. He is a liar and a scam artist!!!

Alberto Rangel

UIC Medical Center is a Top Reseach Institution and has an Excellent Medical Team!

Clarence Triplett

I worked here some of the nicest people

Carlos Diego

They are short on staff and leave the patient unattended for more the 2hrs they have 1 whole nurse running the floor I thought mount Sinai was bad.

The worest billing department a hospital can ever have, I have been suffering from their incorrect bills I keep receiving, I called many times and everytime I speaker with a different billing associate and tell me the same thing to ignore the bill and that they have billed my insurance for it but surprisingly I receive numerous calls from a collection agency harassing me to pay a balance I don't owe, called the hospital billing again and they said the insurance has been billed and I don't have to pay the collection agency but the collection agency keeps on calling me again and again. This is so annoying that because of someone doesn't know their job people's credit get ruined.

Racist nurses at the ER, hurt my wife when told she was in pain

Baltazar Mosqueda Lara

Mother has had cataratas for many years. The ophthalmology department has been very helpful and amazing at what they do!

The hospital is Clean but when it comes to being sick they make you wait for hours for real they need to make the hospital more bigger or have more doctors especially at night because there’s a lot of people who’s is sick and in pain and they keep them waiting if you come here you might as well bring your own food and your lunch or dinner because you will be there for a long time

Angela Clemons

Everyone is so nice and helpful

NIKHAT ZAIDI

Worst hospital ever. Makes patients wait for over 3 hours and un attended. Don’t go here

susana torrez gozalvez

I fell into a disgusting hole and had an open wound, I went straight to the ER because I thought I broke a bone they said no broken bones and instead of cleaning the wound and disinfect it they put some kind of cream and when I asked the nurse if she was going to clean it first she look at me and said no this cream is antibacterial

I have campus care and went into this ER for severe abdominal pain this week. I wanted to share my experience, so you can learn about the abominable and inhumane treatment that the UI health emergency room provided me. I'm used to waiting at emergency rooms. However, I didn't go back for 9 hours, or have anyone check on my pain level while I wept silently for most of the time I was there. The conditions that I saw in the waiting room were disgraceful. One woman was lying on the floor, shaking in her own vomit for hours, without anyone offering her zofran or a blanket. Another woman was bent over, convulsing in pain, for over 9 hours, without anyone checking in on her or offering palliative care. I watched as older white man after white man went back, while the women in the ER were kept waiting for unbelievable amounts of time. It's obvious that this hospital shows a pattern of discrimination and racist, ageist and sexist behavior. When we asked about where we were in the triage (a fair question, as we had already been sitting for 8 hours without any hint of care) the nurse scolded us to be patient, that I wasn't dying, and there were many people more sick than me. I found her response shocking, since I had been debilitated from severe abdominal pain, and as someone who worked in a clinic, I'm aware that this can be a symptom of many life-threatening conditions. We finally went back after 9 hours, and were made to sit in the hallway and made to talk about my health issues without any privacy. This is a HIPAA violation. After 10 hours of waiting, I was able to see a medical student, who finally at least offered me some palliative medication, after doing an invasive exam in the hall and in front of several other patients. After 11 hours, at 1am, we were acutely aware that we were never going to be placed in a room or receive any treatment. We found 4 different nurses asking to be discharged, since my pain had subsided, we hadn't had food or water the entire day, and sitting in the hall was an extremely painful position for me. In addition, I knew that I needed an ultrasound, which they would not be able to provide in the hall without any privacy. Each one assured us we would be expeditiously discharged. After two hours of waiting in agony, at 3am, we finally had to sit at the triage demanding that we sign our paperwork so we could just LEAVE. No one ever even bothered to take my leaking IV out, so I was forced to do that myself after I left the hospital. Women's health issues are already minimized by doctors, and the burden of proof that something is wrong is put on women rather than providers. The fact is that UI ER is perpetuating systematic sexism by mistreating women and minorities, and refusing to provide care. After 15 hours, I left the hospital without medical care or my dignity. I hope that you can be made aware of this issue so that you can brief the staff of the ER on how to handle women presenting with pain, as well as how to follow HIPAA. I'm not sure if this is an administrative or a staff problem, but it needs to be fixed.

The state hospital for Illinois. Certain clinics are great. Others not so much.

Hsiao Zheng

UIC Primary Care Plus Clinic is an excellent primary care clinic! Dr. Aneet Ahluwalia, certified not only internal medicine also by Psychiatry is a wonderful, excellent primary care physician with compassion! I'll recommend Dr. Ahluwalia to all my friends whoever needs primary care physician as their primary care physician!

Maria Solis

Never have appoiments to see a specialist I have a referral for my son to see an orthopedic and their answer was asked your doctor for another referral on a different hospital we do not have appoiments right now until next year. What a great hospital and service"

Iridian Rodriguez

I love the place my son was born in there. The doctors and nurses help me a lot with my child I'll say it a good place to recommend for your child.

Ivonne

I can't believe there are health systems like this up and running. My mom got submitted here for emergency and after 4 hours of waiting with not luck and no body taking care of her. She was in pain, the nurse did everything she could but there was just one for everyone and dealing with the complaints. When I got there I can hear people talking about the amount of hours waiting. The response from the staff was that they are under construction, the interesante thing is that the last time we were there it took them as much and there were not in construction. It's crazy and this is their emergency department I don't want to even imagine how is the service if it's not. Worst experience ever. I'm thankful that I don't go to that hospital at all. I will die there waiting for a doctor to see me.

Alex

Staff in pediatric genetics and liver transplant coordinaters are very rude and unprofessional. I do not recommended going to this hospital for either.

Kimberly Bak

I have been going here since I was 4yrs old over all this place is very unprofessional. There are a lot of staff members that shouldn't have chosen to interact with people in this type of situation. If you happen to get an excellent doctor consider your self really lucky; I adored my geneticist Dr. George E. Hoganson, he didn't talk over my head, he always made sure I knew what was being discussed, got in to see him in a timely manner, and he knows his medical stuff. I didn't realize how lucky I was when I had him as my doctor.

robbievraps

Horrible service. I don't usually complain but these people working the front desk need to be held accountable for doing their jobs. I hurt my wrist over the weekend and went to the E.R. They told me to get a referral for a follow up x-ray from my doctor for a week from then. I called this office, which is my family doctor, 3 DAYS AGO. The woman on the phone told me that I don't need to come in and that she would write me a referral and I would get a call back within 48 hours. I never got a call back. I called today and a different person (a man) told me that there was no referral in the system and that they had no record of me even requesting a referral. He then told me that he would have a nurse call me back within an hour. I waited 2 hours and NEVER GOT A CALL. I called back and a different woman told me that there was still no referral in the system or anything indicating that I needed one. I told her that I already called twice and that I need to get an x-ray by Monday so that I can tell my job how long it will be until I can come back. At this point I don't know whether it's just sprained or fractured. The woman now says that I probably won't be able to get a referral for an x-ray by Monday so now, I don't know what I'm going to tell my job because the hospital only wrote me an excuse from work until Monday, when I was supposed to get a follow up x-ray. But because I was told 3 days ago that I would have a referral for an x-ray by now, and the woman who told me that evidently never submitted a request for a referral, I can't get an x-ray when I need to and when the hospital advised that I get one.

I love the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System! When I moved back to Chicago in early 2017, I was first attending the University of Chicago Medicine, but after a few billing and medical errors, I decided to transfer my care to UI Health. I was definitely not disappointed. I was trying to get the work up completed for a kidney transplant evaluation when they discovered Stage 1 breast cancer in my right breast. Immediately, they took the necessary testing and procedures to treat the problem. I have been treated with the utmost care, respect, kindness and professionalism while I have been both an in-patient and out-patient client. The doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable and caring, and everyone works as a team. It is the best organized hospital I have been to, and I have been to about five hospitals on my healing journey. I highly recommend UI Health and Hospital Systems.

Jamie Jones

Everyone is so nice!! They did a great job on my surgery and were so helpful..I honestly wouldn't go to another hospital!!!!

Donna Mathiak

This was the worst hospital care that I had ever experienced. I came here for one surgery and had to have 3 additional surgeries. Not only were the Residents useless but the nursing staff was horrible. My staff pediatric neurosurgeon blatantly lied to me over and over about my durals leaks, fluid he aspirated from my back and lied right in front of his residents. Is that how he teaches his students? My dearest friend was constantly calling Oprah and asking her to send over a camera crew to film this most unbelievable horrific lack of care. I had PTSD for years after these operations and hospitalizations.... can't believe I made it out alive.

Kim Turner

I had total spine fusion, plus a whole lot more ectomies, otomies & medical speak on 1/4/19 by Dr. Neckrysh, Dr. Christian G. (!!), Dr. Grace & the rest of his team who took on the task of straightening my neck & spine, that after 6 surgeries, refused to stay where the previous surgeon's placed everything. I was a tiny bit leery, but, after I met Dr Neckrysh and he asked me questions about symptoms I was having & then said my spine was compressing on my spinal cord at 3 levels, I figured I had to have the total Spine surgery. Dr. Christian G. who came in and was so friendly with that great smile answered any questions I still had and I was ready for the surgery. Thank you very much to Dr Neckrysh and his whole surgical team. I totally beyond GRATEFUL for EVERYTHING you did for me.

Maria Maradiaga

They Had Me On hold for 18 mins Bad services Like for real and they don't even call back they don't care at all

Sherry Bee

Great staff and I've been going here for 14 years.

Jim Lou

Horrible billing account service. They kept increase my balance without any explanation just as I paid off the existing balance. Very unhelpful customer service people.

Inger Mobley

Everyone is very helpful and friendly. And it's clean which I love

marnie robinson

I love this hospital and medical center. Doctors, nurses and specialists provide very comprehensive medical care to patients. Overall outstanding care!

B. Cazares

First time patient with the staff and they are just wonderful as a medical team and their receptions staff too...

Diana Soto

Horrible place to have your child. I had a C-Section and they wanted my husband to leave. If he left no one would have helped me. They took forever to respind to the call button when i needed my pain medication. Was left in pain for about an hour. I was in tears and could not walk to get help. Nurses would not check on me to see if my baby or myself were ok. My baby cried for 30 mins because he was hungry and the nurses did not hurry to take the formula. They do not have pacifiers or baby wipes!!!

Lyndia Joseph

If I could give no star i would. This place is a mess, my brother had an appointment yesterday with the pulmonologist. His nurse Maria call him and confirm the appt knowing his doctor won’t be in that day and told us to come anyway, because the doctor will come in just to see him, which do not sound right at all. We ask her to reschedule the appointment for another day, because we did not want to inconvenient the doctor but she says no, and it was fine with the doctor, so I took the day off work to take my brother to his appt. We got in 30 mins early, checked in, and the medical assistant took his vitals and put us in the room for the doctor, now we waited for 45 mins and no one come in so finally I asked the medical assistant what was taking so long and she went and ask the nurse, the nurse finally comes in the room just to tell us that the doctor was not in today and they forget to call us and tell us that before we come in. this so ridiculous and unprofessional, we drove an hour to come see this doctor, those nurses in there act like they are the doctor and they are very rude and unprofessional, laughing all loud and having inappropriate conversation while patients are waiting and you can hear them. you guys need to do better and start having some respect for your patients. My family and I will not come go back to that ghetto place ever again.

Lori Chamness

Horrible is too nice a word, my boyfriend was in for 2 weeks, sent home with iv antibiotics and severe infection, rush back after issues with his kidneys and liver and is back in 4 an unknown period of time! The team, and I use that word loosely, does not communicate, the patient is responsible to ensure proper medications, dosage and timelines are kept. Going on 4 weeks and NO ONE WILL SIGN OFF FOR HIS SHORT TERM DISABILITY OR PROVIDE AN OUT OF WORK SLIP FOR HIS EMPLOYER. I have called social worker numerous times, patient advocate multiple times and absolutely NO ONE HAS HELPED! If he wasn't so critically ill, I would bring him home now. Most disappointing, disgusting, stressful, unsympathetic facility I had ever stepped into. Unfortunately 1 was the lowest number I could select because they need a negative 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carmen De Jesus

Waiting time more than 3 hours for a cancer patient! In waiting room Then called and still wait! No attention or consideration for a cancer patient! Not Happy with this Emergency Room And staff were not nice at all Rude triage and pay no attention

Candace Tate

I been having the same issue as another patient. I been tying to schedule an appointment for my Occupatinal therapy but it seems that no one likes to return call nor answer then for that matter. I was trying to complain via phone but that had me on hold for 30 minutes. I woman comes to the phone just to place me back on hold. I have repeatedly said hat I am trying to get back to work and I have a deadline but I can't work if I can't make a fist!

Crystal Beard

Very racist toward me threaten to take my kids away from me.only solution they had was to give me pain meds didn't try nothing else I have live I. This neighborhood for 4 year and never ever will I go back to u.i.c I rather go to northwestern

Andrea Griffin

Two of my doctors are here. And I really like them.

Michele j Andrews

Not how to get to and the nurses for doctor Swiess are awesome! Doctor Swiess herself is an angel on earth! She is so compassionate genuinely treats you like a person, not a number or another dollar sign. I've never been to a doctor that is so caring.

Juan Guerra

The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my surgery and recovery

Nathan T

I can't agree more this is a sad excuse for a hospital doesn't deserve a star. Service is beyond terrible, very very dirty place, very disrespectful completely unprofessional. Very political they will look down on your status insurance, discriminating, prejudice. Police stalk and profile you, there are no cameras where they should be. The cover up to ruff you up and violate your rights if you get concerned in anyway and question. The staff how did they even get a job there? Who was the interviewer? Smfh.... quick easy paycheck they don't know what work is can careless about you, your friends or family. They don't want to be bothered. Bad attitude. Or here comes the police extortion, profiling, stalking, intimidation, violations all around. Who can I write too? Take away license shut it down. Illinois Department Of Financial Regulation, Rahm Emanuel, Bruce Rauner list goes on. Maybe they are in on the crime as well. NO HOPE for ShitCago Chiraq, Democrap.

Yvette R

Horrible emergency room! The staff has horrible attitudes and I waited almost 12 hours just to be seen by a doctor practitioner that asked me what did I expect to be done about my belly pain! The aka real doctor came in for 2 seconds didn’t even touch my stomach and instead tells me he heard about my case and let’s me know that sometimes stomach pains can’t be diagnosed and I was one of those cases yet no ct scan or mri was ever done! I got discharged still in pain and barely able to walk. I will never go back there, the worst experience ever with bad doctors!!!!!

Ronald Welch

Great staff . Took very good care of me in the bad condition i was in.

Jose

Worse patient care I ever . Not to mention how rude they were. Waited 11 hours & nothing. We decided to go to another hospital after this horrible experience. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! U WILL REGRET IT!!!

Marilyn De Jesus

They helped my father recover from a stroke despite him not having insurance. I owe this place a lot and I'm very grateful!

Alyssa Dudley

I’ve been waiting over 8hrs just to be seen and as I’m writing this I still have not been seen I came having trouble breathing they have paid me no mind I asked the nurse how much longer it could be they gave no answer would not recommend this emergency room I would give it no stars if I could

Patricia Marquez

I am here right now as an asthma patient came in about 4:30 they gave me a treatment it's now 7:35 n still no dr.has seen me for the pain i have in my upper back n the cold sweats either, how ever the receptionist was very nice n the nurse was very nice too.well it's already 8:pm decided to leave cause they took too long. I'm going to a different hospital.

Michael Vincent

Hopefully, the hospital has better communication with their patients than their employees. Took a friend for an interview (internal transfer) 11 days ago and absolutely zero communication since. I'm currently fighting a brain tumor and no way I'd want to be at a place that treats its' own employees poorly.

Jennifer Trumbull

Horrible ER experience, I went in for a head trauma, I waited in the waiting room for 3 hours only to see a medical student and the nurse said she would come back and clean my bleeding head but I left, my blood was dry already and I wasn’t going to waste anymore time there. Never even saw a real doctor. When the medical student said, “Awesome no brain bleed” I knew this place is a joke. If I could give zero stars I would!

Briana Dogan

I been with UIC hospital since 2006 I had the pleasure of welcoming all three of my babies here second one what that pleasant.. but still I continue here... I've have two different types of surgery. Both an ok success. I'm a hard work with two jobs and a mother of three my time is valuable they say the least. On September 8 2016 I work from from 5pm to midnight I came to UIC right about 12 40am and thats where I stayed until 6 44 am without even being seen. UIC REALLY IS NOT THE SAME. They don't care you have been waiting all night in the ER I haven't seen my kids and they'll be back at school at 845am and I have to get to work at 9am with bk of sleep... I feel taken for granted used a little and really sad that I feel they could care less. To just treat your patience with no respect for they're time and as a person is beyond low. I been sayin I was GONNA leave this hospital because trust this isn't the first this just happen to be the lowest visit of all

Colby Dismukes

I had a scheduled appointment for an MRI for over two weeks now at the location at 1801 W Taylor St 1A I arrived today August 20, 2019 at 8:28AM only to find out that the lack of communication between the staff at the actual location & the registration department caused a major issue with my insurance. Ms. Tina only wanted to over talk me & not listen to what I had to say. She attempted to continue to over talk me when I kept asking her just to hear me out. The issue wasn’t caused by me & I had been in communication with a manager at both location & my insurance company. When working with the public it’s so important to have a better level of customer service skills including listening, understanding the customer/patient, privacy, the willingness to help & not just being in defensive mode ready to say no! I requested to speak with a manager (Maria) she came out immediately & called me to the back to have a private conversation apposed to having my personal business out in the opening for all the other patients to hear..so embarrassing & leaving me feeling very uncomfortable as everyone turned their attention to me. What ever happen to the privacy act Ms. Tina? I sure hope a manager or supervisor read this comment & have a coaching with her. As I type this I’m still sitting in the waiting area with the same patients that now knows my personal business as they contact my insurance company..again for verification. What a horrible experience! I hope to never return to this place & I sure want an apology after they figure this out. Thank you Ms. Maria for understanding the privacy act & being attentive to my needs.

Ron

The worst. I worked there for many years and it has been the place I felt least proud of to work for. A great deal of "lip service" about customer service but very few of the staff and even fewer of the physicians practice what the hospital preaches.I actually walked out of the emergency room while employed there and went to my neighborhood hospital further north where I was treated promptly and with some consideration.Get rid of the numerous VP's and administrators who really do very little and maybe the state could afford the sufficient amount of staff required to meet patient's needs.

Donald Leigh

7th floor nurses & techs, East & West, are the best!!

k9 Sandoval

Terrible terrible hospital 25 years ago i almost died at this hospital really sad the nurses where horrible.

brenda tyler

The some of the nurses are very lazy they do not have bedside manners

Laura Corcoran

Helpful courteous staff

Yolanda Ratcliff

This was the worst hospitalization ever. The phyicians lacked knowledge, understanding, and basic common manners. They vigorously discourage patients asking questions. A patient is made to believe that their imput has NO VALUE. In addition, the nurses moved slowly, even when they were gossiping in their sewing circle. They were horrible advocates. The nurses were unprofessional to put nicely. Lastly, during my stay, I never got my sheets changed and found myself constantly asking for fresh towels. Honestly, if I could take the one star away, I would. It`s far too generous.

Martinabrown Brown

This hospital has nothing on cook county!!!! The wait time is unbelievable.... i’ve Been waiting six hours to see a doctor. I came in with a rash on my neck now it’s on my chest as well ....very poor management!!!!

Tenisha Turner

Very fast courteous service, and the facility was clean.

geri bobis

The best

octavio botello

Went in there with terrible pain but saw a doctor 6 hours after check in.

rebecca rose

My Dad went in for brain surgery, came out half paralyzed and basically disabled. Thank you for ruining my life UIC, hopefully no other family has to suffer the same fate. Terrible ICU, takes an hour for a nurse to answer a call button or even come see us. Don’t go here.

Viola Eagle

I had the best care here! They saved my life

Aravamudhan Krishnan

Outpatient 5//24 2019; 7/22/2019 Attending Physician: Yazici MD, Cemal Physician: Exemplary; instills confidence, and reflects care. Services: Friendly and efficient: Reception through Vitals-initial Anesthesia questions-Procedure to Recovery. Bought a UIC T-shirt as a souvenir

James V

This place is gracious and I can't stop talking about the staff the hospital even though the great portions of food for cheap. UIC Hospital is a great place to have a baby or have any kind of procedure done very educated people who give a damn.

Terranesha West

Bad food and I broke out for bein there for 2 days hospital is horrible

cheryl lekas

My son was born here. I wasn't given all the information I needed to know regarding my son. While in the nicu he had gotten a diaper rash that was bleeding. Every day when I got to the hospital my son was laying in a full diaper. Then the clinic ... It took 3 appointments to get them to change my baby's formula even tho I had concerns about him not going to the bathroom and in those 3 visits they couldn't bother to tell me he failed his newborn screening test. Today I switched my son to Advocate children's!

Melikah Morris

I trust all of my family's care to UI HEALTH.

Jayria Lang

Horrible They Called me last minute to postpone my induction now I don’t know when I will even get a room to have my child

Helen ALi

Good doctors good service

Q WLL

I left after 8 years because they started billing incorrectly and will not justify. If you pay attention there are fees on there and Dr. fees even though this is a hospital. You are paying the hospital and the Dr. is charging a fee. I quickly left. Not worth it. Find another place. They used to be really good up until 2018. Sad because there are some good staff. But if you cannot explain my bill...

Jessica Plaza

If i could give it no stars, I would. The hospital is packed!! Patients have to share rooms, employees are rude and lazy and parking sucks

Alejandro Garcia

When waiting for the doctors most of nurses are rude and have no respect to family members that are with love ones that are here for them. I find it in pleasant and not very friendly to its clients In need when I was waiting for my wife to be let in. I begged them I want my wife to be let In my room. Then feeling prison waiting for my wife. I will never come here again!!!!

Sonia Moncada

Great Doctor's,Nuses and staff

Angela Ragsdale

They help my daughter out on her tooth

Annamaria Tamas

Service was ok, but when it comes to financial assistance. WORST hospital to go too. They offer assistance only for people with absolutely NO insurance. So, my insurance pays only 80%, the rest is my responsibility. I got 2 separate bills one over $900 and a second over $200. I have to pay it, because I had insurance and that covered the rest of it. I work part time making only around $700/month( 17hour/week). They don't care. My husband was diagnosed with cancer in May, we got a lot of bills from Illinois Masonic Hospital and was able to apply for financial aid and quality and got a little portion to pay only. Definitely won't ever go into this hospital, ever again. NEVER.

Dana Estelle-White

My mother recently underwent a brain surgery performed by Dr. Charbel and a resident. He assured my family that my mothers vision would not be impacted. Well now she is blind in 1 eye with no explanation of what happened or any solution of how to restore her vision. She is also still in pain from the surgery yet she's being discharged.

Vera Chukwu

Friendly staff and a very good ambiance

Taki Salameh

When I first read the reviews I was horrified and to be honest the staff when I entered the hospital wasn’t the most comforting. My grandma had a heart attack today and I felt bad because I was the one who insisted we go to this hospital (she didn’t know what was wrong and I suspected it might be a heart attack). I felt horrible after I read the reviews, and to be honest the Emergency Rook wasn’t the best (that’s why it’s 4 Stars). But once I met the staff and the doctor they were all so nice. My grandma was fine after and they showed my family and I exactly what they did. She’s now resting there, I met her nurse she’s extraordinarily nice. Please ignore the terrible reviews about the ICU I can’t say anything about the clinic, but the intensive care Unit staff is so nice, along with the doctor being detailed and polite. As for the Emergency Unit I haven’t seen them when it was busy so I can’t say anything about the wait there was 2 people waiting including us. But overall it was great.

Ronald Mccowan

Service was okay but they act like you don't have a real reason to be there. My wife came in with severe pain and the doctors just kinda acted like she wasn't really in any pain. They don't even have pillows for patients! We go to UIC for or primary care needs, but we will not be coming back to the emergency room here.

Sky Winfield

Truly hate coming here only half the staff is nice the other half need to find another career choice, job or some happiness in their life wish my insurance was better

Dilisha Wormely

If I could give no stars I would. Some of the staff during my mother's stay were rude, condescending and unprofessional. A particular employee named John Anders who kept his ID badge out of view while I was there but my mother found out his name later from another nurse, was very unprofessional and condescending . It's definitely not a welcoming experience and one that will not be forgotten. I even submitted my bad experience to their Patient Relations Department and the Director of the bad employees did not have the decency to return my call to discuss the matter (my complaint was submitted on 10/20)-such a bad reputation to build for the hospital. People come to UIC to receive excellent care and service, not mediocre staff that could care less about its patients. We are in the process of having my mother's care transferred over to Rush University Medical Center since they value their patients there. Do better UIC and train your staff to be more respectful and considerate!!

JoAnne Garcia

I have been coming to this hospital for almost three years now. My only REGRET is not coming here sooner, I wasted 2 years at another well known hospital that left me without vision in my right eye. From the moment I came to the hospital I was treated with courtesy not only from the clerks but my doctors have been the best in their fields. Dr. Elmer Tuu was the first doctor I saw, after two failed corneas, he sent me to see Dr. Jennifer Lim , who happens to be the retina specialist and she is great. I then started seeing Dr. Cortina who is fantastic, along with Dr. Aref who is a glaucoma specialist , on top of that after I was fortunate to receive a prosthetic (titanium) eye , Dr. Cortina sent me to see her collegue, Dr. Pete Setabutr, and I also forgot to mentions Dr. Ellen Shorter, I have had the best of the best. I could not be more pleased than what I made. I don't have private insurance so it is not about how wealthy you are or how poor you are this hospital gave me hope when I had none. I just went through cosmetic surgery yesterday but I can tell you from the moment I started coming to his hospital, my only regret was not coming here sooner. They are all professional from check in to check out. The surgical teams are the best I've ever seen. To all my doctors Dr. Cortina, Dr. Tu, Dr. Lim, Dr. Shorter, Dr. Setabutr, thank you all you are ALL FANTASTIC, as well as your teams your fellows, your clerks your surgical teams thank you all. I want to especially say THANK you to University cf Illinois for having these doctors at your hospital

This Hospital got a great staff and terrific nurses and doctors.

Geraldine Siverand

With Gods direction they saved my life. Eternally grateful. They diagnosed me with a brain aneurysm in 2013. They performed the emergency surgery and saved my life. I am here today because of God and the doctors at the University of Illinois hospital. Thank you Dr Hanjani (neurosurgeon)and others who aided her.

If you have CampusCare, congratulations...you have this hospital, too. There's been some improvements but there is overall a sense of chaos and confusion throughout the staff. I've been there 3x for a chronic illness, and 2 of those 3 times putting in an IV was a complete disaster. The third time I had a fever of 104 and received no water, fluids, medicine of any kind for over 5 hours. It took my wife demanding action for anything to get moving and they seemed confused by the response they got. The staff in charge of "teaching" the medical students are by far the worst experience. My entire 90 minute EMG, which is already a painful and upsetting procedure, was almost unbearable. I had a student who was trying his best that was being berated and demeaned by a professor / boss the entire procedure. He was constantly shaming him for wasting time, doing things wrong, and this in turn caused the student to physically hurt me with improper procedures. I can't say I blame him - he was understandably very anxious. I would be too if I was supposed to give care and had someone nagging me the whole time. If you have an appointment outside of the actual ER, you will never be seen when they say you will. Bring a book, or have a full charge on your phone. It can get very boring. Billing is a nightmare, but I'm sure that doesn't surprise anybody. Overall I do not have CampusCare any longer, so there's no reason for me to come back here. However, if I were still a student I would've paid the extra money out of pocket to go to another hospital of needed - the cost is much higher, but the experience is much more pleasant.

I delivered my baby in the hospital. My OB and all nurses were very professional and nice to me. I stayed in hospital for three days and got very good care from them.

N B

I came here yesterday for the first time to see my mother , once i was in the er two or three people walked out complaining about how long the wait is. Today i came back to my mom saying that a machine was beeping for 15 minutes straight without anyone checking in. Macneal hospital at loyola is much better.

Elisjeannette Espada

The hospital is not good no more . I been here 8 hours they don't never now what people have. And be worse than ever

Sally Wendt

Customer service? Non-existant. The administrative and front line medical staff are rude and unhelpful! The guys that park your car were nicer!

Becky Aranda

Dr Hassan nurse Darice is unprofessional and rude. I also had a test done and request my images and they gave me the run around. Still have not received it. Hospital staff is disorganized and unprofessional.

Daniele Bernstein

The UI Health System is an absolute joke. Was referred to a doctor and was told I had to schedule an appointment 3 months out. A week before my appointment I got a call at 8am saying that the doctor had to cancel and it would be another 3 MONTHS before I could get an appointment. Beyond that, I have been told on 2 occasions that I would get a reminder of my appointment and never did. When I called to speak to a supervisor about the issues I was having, they said they would look into it and get back to me. I never got a call back and when I called to follow up there were no notes on my account. Bottom line: they don't care about their patients and I'm going back to Northwestern. The convenience of the location for me is far outweighed by the inconvenience of their system and their terrible service.

Dominique Brown

Came in through Er with pain in pelvic and back with blood in my urine. Waited for hours. Told the nurse I was in pain he said so everyone is. Worst experience ever.

They are rude as heck in the emergency room department . I was upstairs in PEDs for almost a week with my 9 month old because she had pneumonia plus the RSV virus and I got so sick while I was there that I had to go down to the ER. It was around 5am when I went down, very slow and quite then usually, all I heard was staff laughing and playing around. Now It’s not like it was crowed or they didn’t have no clue what was wrong with me just for the nurse to check me and ask questions for when the doctor to come in. So I finally got my weak body up went to the door and told the two nurses that was sitting at the nurses station to take me back upstairs to my baby. Not to mention I’m looking real ruff from being there all week. They looked at me sideways and turned their head and continue doing what they was doing like I was some type of mental patient they didn’t need to deal with, just when I was about to snap this black nurse came and said she find out who’s my doctor (even tho I know she didn’t but i appropriate the effort she put in to make sure things won’t turn ugly) . After that I went back to my room waited about 30 more min until the nurses assist came. She came asked three questions and took my temp. Politely I asked her, who’s my doctor, how long it’s gone be, why is it taking so long and it’s empty rooms more then full rooms, she told me, no we are busy, then I told her, it can’t be that busy all I hear is the staff laughing and joking around. She got upset walked off and said ‘you gone sit and just wait until the doctor see you’. ...... that point I just left it alone and decided to report it

I had surgery a few years ago, and everything went vey well. I had an amazing Gynecologist, and the nursing staff was excellent

Jennifer Rodriguez

This hospital is on some b********. I'd leave 0 stars if I could. They wouldn't allow my 13 and 8 year old kids see their dying cousin.

Stacey Seldon

Run. Don't walk away from this hospital. This hospital is ran by residents and attending physicians. It does not deserve one star. We were assured that the surgery would be 4-6 hours, ended up being 13 hours. In ICU for approximately 23 days. The care performed at this hospital was minimal at best. I had to request a meeting with the Hospital Administration to determine status of my Dad's health. I wish I had read some of these reviews before I agreed to have him moved there (was originally at Christ Hospital). If you love your loved one, please do not take them to this hospital. He had no severe life threatening problems when he was admitted and ended with no kidney function, internal bleeding, sepsis, infection, pulmonary embolism and death.

za joker

Horrible, gotta wait 3-4 hours to get checked in and then you gotta wait another 3-4 hours just to get the room. C’mon man you could of just told me it’s gonna be a long wait instead of me waiting hours for nothing just to get blood pressure for 3-4 hours. I could of just went to Walmart for blood pressure for free. What a joke.

Yolanda Gray

They always take great care of me and the facility is very clean

Pascal Santiago

The Emergency rooms needs a closer eye from administration! When administration is taking surveys on the ER the personal (nurses and doctors) act very professional and polite, they make feel the patients that they are taking good care of them however once administration left... They start acting rude, if they order test they canceled out of nowhere and discharged you without taking the time to check the patient. I personally see what they did with a big guy with epilepsy last Thursday morning and makes me think about how awful is the ER personal. Joke about someone having a seizure is disappointing. I would never come here again.

Alindine M

The hospital staff is unprofessional and very disorganized. Their customer service is horrible and the people on the phone know very little. I wouldn't recommend their service to anyone. I have called them several times to get a copy of my medical records but two months later and I still don't have them. Their accounting department can't get it together and the website is not any helpful either.

Dessislava Naydenov

I have a cancer sick husband. We went to ER and waited in the lobby for seven hours and we left.He couldn't make it any longer there. This is not emergency help.

Fernando Ramirez

My mom works here

Christopher A Dantis

Administration and staff are useless. They want to charge you an office visit for your records and to fill out a form that is associated with the university for housing. They are scammers. The support supervisor is a bitter woman who doesn't know how to calm a livid parent - me. They want to deal with a kid away from home for the first time in his life because it's easier to manipulate them rather than the parent who knows better. His doctor was great, but the staff were ignorant!!!!!!! Worst place ever. I'm taking him back to his regular ped.

Yazmin Maricruz Salgado

Very rude staff especially the ones whom help with parking

Kevin Nicholson

Blood work

Rachel Marten

The ER has a comfortable waiting room with a tv and coffee vending machine so that's a plus. My only problem with this hospital is there are curtains instead of walls separating the patients' rooms so you can hear private details about the other patients' conditions.

Victoria Jones

Horrible staff and emergency room wait expect to be 3hrs we arrived at 3:00pm and it is now 8:12 AND WE ARE STIILL IN THE WAITING ROOM!!!!! If you are in serious need for help DO NOT COME HERE !!!

Nereida Perez

Awesome employees..they have gone above and Beyond to be so caring and helpful.woderful woman that needs to be recognize for a great job. They are From the neuroscience center I give thanks to DR MALIK. Waverlynn hicks Roseann Caroll And tanisha Taylor, thank u so much for all your help!

Felecia Johnson

My Mother is still waiting in the ER has not been seen yet since 6:00pm and now it is 11:15pm..with a soaring B/P of 178/83 with a past recent History of CVA and 2 days ago we think she showed signs that she may have had a TIA (transit ischemic attack ..so I finish this complaint now ....as of now still no Medical Intervention has ocurred....This so called Emergency Medical Service is pathetic.....and done only to people of color in our Community.

Vanessa Figueroa

Had a very unpleasant visit today with Dr. Neiderberger and not because he didn't give us "options" or tell us the news we wanted to hear. He simply had a rude, condescending, "why are you even here waisting my time?" attitude that left us feeling even more discouraged than when we walked in. Aren't doctors supposed to have empathy? Especially when dealing with such a sensitive topic like infertility? Horribly bedside manner and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

J R Rivera

This is worst than Cook County Hospital!!! Go to Rush and stay away from here!!

Kevin Birmingham

I had a physical here with Dr. Shah who was working under Dr. Claire Thesing. It was terrible. Dr. Shah went through my chart and physical like a robot working off of a computer screen. At the end of our time together, I had to ask her if she was going to check my vitals or listen to my heart. She said "oh yes. I have so many things going on that I did not remember". She then said she had to leave to get her stethoscope. What kind of physical are you giving me without a stethoscope?. I mentioned to her that I needed a call from her when my blood work came back before I see the results because results makes me nervous if I do not know what I a reading. She said ok that she will call me. It has been over a week since my physical, I got my results back 5 days ago and still there is no follow up from Dr. Shah. I think this is terrible service and it shows no type of concern for the patient. I felt as if I was a number and if the doctor just wanted to hurry up and get rid of me. I feel as if I need to do my physical over entirely with another doctor. This was as the Miles Square Clinic Locations at 1220 S Wood in Chicago.

Denzel Jones

It's ok I don't really go here but someone in my family does and they seem to like it.

Mozella Cartharn

The nurses are very rude and unprofessional, they left my sister in pain for past 4 hrs waiting on pain medicine after a emergency c-section. Then when I came up there and a nurse was sleep at the front desk. And then a nurse made a rude comment to my sister as she left out the room. My sister only recommended one nurse that was nice to her doing her visit. Terrible experience.

S. O. Radio

A very professional environment. The people here are amazing respectful and kind. Keep up the good work.

Sexycricket a

God redo this phony commercial you have out. Jesus. Plus Dr's couldnt explain why my father in law drowned in his own fluid a d he wasnt on any water pills and he went in for high potassium like his rehad sent him in for and they say he didnt come for that then took his xrays and heart stopped then 5 shots to revive him and then a trake and then coma Coma?????????? Nurses rude .when I questioned why he was so swollen I said hes not supposed to be like that her reply was hes not supposed to be like this either. Nurses have to be careful when answering because I myself am a healthcare nurse so I knew something went left.

Ray Markos

Dr. Rodriguez. Therese the nurse. Tanya the nurse are the worst non human people you will ever meet in your life. If you are ever having a baby make sure you find a different hospital.

Marie A. Carter

Great hospital, friendly staff, patient centered care and clean facility. I'm very happy with the care I received today. I came here after a very bad experience at south shore on crandon. I will definitely go again and they are highly recommended!

Làtrish Venson

The doctor's and nurses was very courteous and concerned. Very clean with amazing paintings and portraits.

Patrick Rose

The hospital is filthy at best, doctors will treat you like a "specimen" not a human being. Comunication is non existent between doctors and they don't tell the patient anything unless directly questioned. After discharge, I found out the did a biopsy procedure WITHOUT telling us anything at any time about the test. The only thing holding this place together is the nursing staff.

John Williams

I have had a surgery two years ago and noticed the bill they have sent me was not picked up by Insurance. I contacted my Insurance who told me that they didn't bill it correctly and contacted the hospital. Two years have gone by and I thought it was taken care of. No additional bills were mailed. No calls from the Hospital. I have just now received a collection notice. Do not trust their billing department. Look at the other reviews people have posted here. Terrible service. I am surprised this place is still opened. In addition to this billing mess, they refused to treat me for a stricture that has been reoccurring. The reason they gave was because they wanted to see if grew over the next couple of months, even though it continually comes back and grows. My assumption is, this was probably done to get in an additional fee There is no other explanation considering I had one of the same size cut out before elsewhere.

Connie Gibson

I have experienced competent medical care, but incorrect coding has resulted in thousands of dollars overcharged. Accounts payable personnel including the top man have been extremely unhelpful at achieving resolution. I feel there is no concern for the overall well-being of people 'served' by this medical establishment...no call backs or returned emails despite doing back flips to get contact information. Highly stress-inducing experiences, and I have going to UIC for many years.

Carol Kampendahl

If I could I would give this place a negative -5 . The staff is hit/miss. For the few employees who really care about their job....I'd say abandon that sinking ship. You are over worked, under paid and the exception to the rule, at this hospital. I went in to have procedure and kept complaining that something wasn't right after the surgery. The doctor told me to wean myself off pain meds and go home. Well I live about 2 hours away. So a few days after being home my condition was worse so I called my surgeon (Dr. Antonio Gangemi) for an appointment. I got a ride to make my 2 hour each way (4 hours total) appointment and the surgeon came in told me that the bile and redness from wound site was because I wasn't using paper tape. I question the surgeon, he was rude arrogant and told me that it would all be ok, to come back in 2-3 weeks. My boyfriend then asked if we could have the small amount left on the roll of paper tape because we had 2 hour ride back home and my wound was oozing so much, that we would probably have to re wrap wound in the car. Dr. Gangemi/Surgeon, said he couldn't do that???? Anyway, to make long story short, 6 hours after seeing Dr. Gangemi I was back in suburbs and had to have emergency surgery at my local hospital!!! I was running a 103 temp and ALL tests indicated that my wound was infected and had abscesses all over inside. My local surgeon said a CNA would have been able to catch what Dr. Gangemi didn't. A raging infection site that was oozing bile, burning my skin and spreading infection throughout my whole body. If i had waited even 24 hours I would have been dead. Nice! Not!!

Dyamond Franklin

I FEEL LIKE 5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE HOW AMAZING THESE ANGELS ARE FROM THE OB CLINIC TO THE OB DELIVERY! MY EXPERIENCE WAS PHENOMENAL AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE WHO IS PREGNANT LOOKING FOR A GREAT PLACE FOR TRUE CARE FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY! THEY ALWAYS CHECK ON YOU AND MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY! FROM ME TRYING TO HAVE A NATURAL BIRTH DOWN TO EPIDURAL TO A C SECTION EVERYONE KNEW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND YOU CAN TELL ITS THEIR TRUE PASSION TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SAFE DELIVERY! IF I COULD REMEMBER THE NAME OF EVERY DOCTOR AND NURSE I HAD I WOULD THANK THEM PERSONALLY!

Liz Garcia

Been here since 3 pm for my husband heart condition, and still waiting on to see a doctor.

H Post

Can't say enough! Spent some time here while my daughter went through chemotherapy. I haven't meet anyone there who was rude. They are caring and professional. Everywhere I've been in the hospital has been caring and so nice. From the cafeteria workers to the housekeepers-just great people. The worst situation in my life brought me here. I can't say enough. If I hadn't gone here who knows what the result would be. My daughter is in remission and now when I go, it's like I'm visiting family. Thank you UofI. You saved my daughters life! Your caring and concern can't ever be put into words!

banna

AWFUL! $3k in the hole, double-billing, and unclear statements...all about the almighty dollar at this place. Don't waste your time, energy or health. A bunch of CROOKS!!!!!

Alexis Aguero

Staff is really rude and have attitude, waiting time for the emergency room is terrible 5+ hours. Nurses just call you in then send you back to wait another 5 hours. If you really have an emergency go to Mount Sinai nearby honestly.

Sarahi Michel

Love it i love customer service they treat u so good I also love how dr care about your service and health i love it i hope I could work there soon

Thelma Spencer

Praying for my brother George Rodriguez

I'm stunned by how poorly this hospital treats patients. I saw Dr. Simms in his clinic, where I was misdiagnosed, given the wrong medication, then overcharged for the privilege. Nevertheless, I paid the hundreds of dollars owed, even though I had to go to Rush to get cured. Then, after paying the bill, I'm sent to collections by the billers, Wolcott, Wood & Taylor without any warning whatsoever. I went to Guest Services at the hospital for help, but was extremely mistreated by Maria Lopez, who is so bad at her job that she should work for a cellphone company where people expect horrible treatment from a customer service rep. Her supervisor, Shirl Pinotti, is not much better. If you want to be overcharged for incompetent medical treatment, then harassed by incompetent billers/guest service agents, this is the place for you. Otherwise, try Rush, Northwestern, U. of Chicago, or self-medication. All better options.

Zaniyah Reed

I am now 14 years old i was born at U.I.C and my mom said she loved the doctors there and they took care of me so well my mom now has 3 more and they were all born there and my mom said she will recommend it to EVERYONE. and i will like to say thank you My mother has had all 4 of her kids there and it was the best: September 16,2006 April 15,2009 July 17,2016 August 25,2017 THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
