The doctors are great but the support staff is either incompetent or extremely understaffed. If you call with a question about your sick child, be prepared to call back multiple times. It can take over a week just to get a call back from a clinical staff member.

I love my doctors and nurses. I been there since I was 2 years old fighting cancer. The doctor is really nice and sweet and they make sure I'm okay. If I'm sick they try to find the right meds for me and help me with the pain.

Children emergency room unsanitary hospital masks and tissue , water bottles and a host of other thing laying around on the floor ... you can smell the gems in the air... staff just sitting there looking directly at the mess.

The doctors and nurses are great, the front desk employees seem unhappy with their job, for being a hospital the sanitarion is horrible. It seems they are unaware of the importance of keeping the place sanitize and germ free. The kids play tables are dirty sticky and have empty can sodas on them. I grabbed a napkin to clean off the spilled soda, my guess is that it's so old it dried up. There's garbage on floor seats windows. As I'm sitting I waiting area a patient and his father stepped into bathroom for a couple of minutes, I had to get tissue paper for a second time and to my surprise the bathroom was a nasty disaster. I mentioned it to the front desk, so I could go and use it and it also seemed as if they care less and nothing was done about it. Even old wristbands are on seats and prove the place is not correctly cleaned up or sanitized. It's a shame that the doctors are great but the first sight patients get of this hospital is a bad one.

There ER is horrible. I brought my son into the we with breathing issues. His stomach was contracting to breathe. They had us sitting there for 1 1/2 hours without calling our names. I decided to leave and take my son to 2 Hope (Christ). As soon as we walked in the er they took him to a room and about 8 staff members was there to get him started. I’m so disappointed in this hospital

The security staff are so unprofessional, in fact, threatening. I was rudely approached by a young woman who aggressively requested to see my yellow brand. I did not show her due to her tone. Instead, I told her not to speak to me and to send the supervisor. While attempting to close the door she used her hand and foot to stop me while coming inside towards me. She continued loudly in the presence of my sleeping ill infant, as I continued to close the door. No one said anything, no one intervened, no one even came to check to see if we were ok! This situation was not acceptable. This situation should never reoccur in a children’s hospital.

This was the most awful experience I had with a hosptial. I have been working in healthcare for over 20 years now. I worked at st. Bernard and interned at children memorial. So, I recieved a call from his dad about 1pm to make me aware he was there. He had been there for many hours before hand. The hospital nor his dad called upon admission to the hospital. Secondly, the proper insurance information was not given even though his dad had it. The next day the hospital called for that information but not to inform me my son was there. In addition the hospital when I called told me that my son was not there. No one by that name was there or had been discharged from that hospital. It is not in any healthcare policy to lie to the custodial parent where their child is at especially a hospital. Lastly the security department was very unprofessional and made a very bad situation worse. They locked the doors so I could not leave with my son. They insisted he leave with his dad when this occured with durning his vistation. I am the custodial parent who was not given discharge instruction, lied to about my son being there and treated very poorly by the staff. My son is biracial and I am white. I truly believe this is a case of reverse racism on the security department behalf. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. One start is a compliment in the service they provided.

The Allergy & Immunology department at this hospital is a joke. They don't even deserve the one star that i'm giving them but i had to put it in order to post a review. I arrived three minutes late to my appointment due to the fact that the street was closed so my uber driver had to drop me off at a further location. I have a medical condition that makes it difficult and extremely painful to walk yet i had to push through the pain to get there as fast as i could. I spent $25 on uber to get to the hospital and because i was three minutes late Nana Fenny refused to see me. Their job is to help sick people and they can't even do that. I came all the way from the northside and it was such a waste of time.

Have been at the ER with 8 year old son since 6:30 pm , it's currently 12:39 am, have been sitting in abandoned hallway outside of radiology waiting for an X-ray for 40 minutes. There is radiology staff is in there lab with no patients however they've yet to acknowledge or communicate anything to me. I'm thoroughly disgusted by the lack of professionalism.

No one wants to work at the front desk. Horribly organized with multiple sign in desks for the same floor. Waited for an hour solely because, without anyone willing to help, you are suppose to know to sign out (even though you aren't done), and just walk right into the next room you want, even though there is a waiting room. Never has a place screamed the dangers of lack of diversity as this place.

Worse hospital i have ever been too , i took my son there to the emergency room , i was in the waiting room for 5 hrs before seen by any stuff, after along wait i managed to see someone checked my son then said i should wait for the Dr in the room still waiting for another 2hrs thats when i was done just left the hospital . I was so disappointed i spend almost the all day but still no dr to see my son .its ashame that's a very nice hospital !

My son was sick from a stomach bug doctor was nice. But I had the rudest white blonde short hair nurse ever. She wasn't real sympathetic or anything rush us out until the lobby where it wasn't no ppl waiting for beds. . I felt like after they sucked up my insurance it was ok bye bye . Yeah I prefer northwestern my nurse had some nerves I don't feel she work with children she would be better fit with adults from her attitude and disposition.

I took my daughter there and she was treated as though she were sexually active. She came in for severe back pain and she can barely walk. They asked her things like, if you can describe the pain is it a pinch a punch or labor pains. This is a child she doesn't know what labor pains feel like. my daughter sees the doctor and because my daughters throat is sore from the high fever she had, they assume its mono. you have heard of mono before haven't you? they asked me. I said isn't mono, she isn't sexually active, her back hurts her really bad. They tested her throat, her urine, and they looked peturbed that she came out clean for whatever hey were looking for. I was told they had no specialists for her back, but handed me referels, the check out papers. SO there will be phone calls made about this incident because hospitals aren't to be callous and uncaring

Please choose a different hospital for your child. I have been in the nursing field for 4 going on 5 years. Most of the nurses have no compassion for the infants they take care of. Even some of the doctor's that work here are only here to get payed and go home. I had just gave birth, was in pain, bearly got any sleep, and still had to deal with rude staff members. Very unprofessional I would never return here the doctor's won't even answer the phone or give you a call back once you go home. Everything I had done by them for my child was done in a ridiculous amount of time. I couldn't even put my complaints in about the staff because the number I was given doesn't answer or call back. When I told staff my complaints in person I was looked at crazy and they took one another's side. Very unprofessional and they won't be getting any more insurance money from me since that was the only thing they was concerned about my child having.

This place is terrible. Never go there!! My son went to the lab work twice and the results not even 10% of what was on the original doctor's request. They charge ~$1000 for only CBC, vitamin D and LgE results! The most ridiculous thing is when you called to check and they told you that they didn't even do the test!!!!

I took my son Saturday because he had a fever of 105° and breathing very heavy he looked horrible so the doctor just gave him Tylenol and motrin stating it was only a cold. I told her that if it was a cold why was it so hard for him to breathe? She said it happens with fever. So they sent us home with just motrin and Tylenol. I knew something else was wrong because the next day he stopped drinking or eating anything he couldn't get up for nothing mind you my son is only 1 yr old, at this point I can hear him trying to breathe but was struggling so I took him to another hospital where they said he had pneumonia!!!! How do u miss that?!!!! You are a children's hospital!!!! Thank you ADVOCATE TRINITY!!! Im going to do everything I can to report this hospital!!! Pneumonia is nothing to play with or a child's life!!!! I am sooooo mad!!!! Sorry for my pad punctuation, spelling, etc...

Went here 9 months ago wont go into detail but the minute you try and take your child to the hospital for an injury something bad happens.... Hands down This is the most crookest hospital ever. They'll get DCFS involved in a heartbeat. (Over a knot on your childs head)you tell them what happened and The doctors and nurses will change your story and make false reports just to take your children away. I will never ever forgive this hospital for what they have done to me and to my children! And i'll make sure i tell everyone PLEASE DO NOT take your kids here!

Very very unprofessional when it comes to the safety of the kids!!!!! Tell all parents how cell phones are dirtier than toilets yet all their nurses are on them and touching touch screens without washing their hands!!! Wonder how many diseases they spread to other patients or maybe killed them!!!! Why do they need their cell phones at work phones all over every floor maybe put you patient first and your employees personal life on hold why they are at work!!!! Why would you even jeopardize this even in the nicu !!!!!! Really really sad!!!!

On Aug 21,2017 I was rushed to Mitchell ER as I was in pain due to pregnancy and got sent to Comers Children's Hospital. I was told that it was just round ligament pain. Aug 23,2017 at 11:40pm my water broke at 18weeks (Not all fluid was released really just leakage) again I was Rushed to Comers Children's Hospital Labor and Delivery where the insisted I have a DNC I declined because my son still had a heartbeat. I stayed in the hospital Aug 24-25 where I was discharged by a Residential doctor because I refused the DNC. The Doctor said to me "I rather you go home than stay here and set up an infection" crazy right considering we're in a hospital with trained physicians. I was in Active Labor at the time and didn't even know it and was still discharged. My stay here was nothing shy of horrible. Have not been back there since and I'm currently pregnant now. They Rubbed me the wrong way

This hospital will protect their staff even if they are wrong and they know it. They are more worried about a lawsuit then doing what is right and protecting the children who come there. I can't go into too much detail but my daughter's life was forever changed and not in a good way. These people know what they did and one day you will have to answer for it. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD ALONE FOR A SECOND.

This is the worst Hospital that I have ever been in.My review is very lengthy. I'm not going to type all this and then have to repeat it.The staff needs to be retrained. There is no compassion in the staff. To them its a job, when really its a human beings life. They are stuck on making goals verses how you are taking care of someone. Nobody is held accountable for what they do. They nursing staff in comer on the labor and delivery floor should be a shame of themselves. Now dont get me wrong not everybody is bad but because there are so many bad apples the good ones go unnoticed and have to do damage control when the bad ones mess up.They lack empathy, care , concern. We stayed 4 days and it was the worst 4 days of my life. And this hospital comes highly recommended from my family members but to be honest I wouldn't never go back there. Its not my hospital of choice.

My daughter had to stay at Comer due to an asthma flare up. We were getting her and her twin sister's pediatric care from University of Illinois but after the very enjoyable stay that my 5 year old daughter experienced, we switched over their care to the U of C and they will start seeing their new pediatrician in December.

Great staff. I drive from far to this wonderful hospital. Third surgery for my son here. And far better experience than any other place. **Update. After all our good experience here. Lately something is going on and their service has been awful. Last procedure for my so was horrible. They put him on Anastasia and just like 40 min after began the procedure. He was up for a while after. And 'forgot' to call us. After several unpleasant experiences we moved our are to a different hospital.
