Clearly overwhelmed. The counselor only accepted appointments until 3pm. Hard to do that when you work during the day and your son's school doesn't get out in time to make it. Then they instituted a policy you cannot be late for appointments. I was delayed by traffic on Eagle Rd, told I might want to reschedule, I made it 2 minutes prior to my appointment time and was told I was too late. I pointed to the clock and was still told "sorry" and I would need to reschedule.

I was given great service and attention from Dr. Powell- our first apt was 90 min long and she was very detailed and attentive to myself and my 7 year old. She helped us choose a medication that we were comfortable with, a non- stimulant, and scheduled a follow up apt for 3 weeks later. At the follow up we were given her complete attention and adjusted the meds as necessary. I was very impressed with everyone there.

Their 12 pg Intake patient form packet, were taken from Naval Medical Center San Diego. It clearly states that in top left corner, when it loads the PDF, but they have put there name on the bottom of all the pages, as their own. It is a bit concerning.

I wish I could give this a zero star rating. My sons pediatrician sent my son here to see Dr. Levell in Jan. 2017 and he saw him once, barely talked to me, my husband or my son, then said ADHD. My son since has gotten much worse and more violent at school. I have seen his regular pediatrician for 2 behavior appointments and on the last one which was almost 2 weeks ago she asked when I would be seeing Dr. Levell again and she was upset to hear that he didn’t want to see him again. So she referred him for the 2nd time and when I went there today, the nurse was rude and snobby. When he finally came into the room we were called back in he didn’t say anything. He sat down and was on the computer, out of the 10-20 minutes he was in the room he maybe talked to me for 2 minutes. He was rude, and basically told me that my son wasn’t important enough for him to see him and there are other kids that are more important. I have a 7 year old son, constantly being violent and threatening in school towards teachers!!! I am. Wet unhappy with the lack of medical care and care towards my son. I’m most disappointed that a lot of people say he is amazing and awesome and he wasn’t even close!!!

I have been coming to Dev Peds since 2012. Initially we saw Dr. Leavell, but over the past several years we have seen Dawn Powell. Professionally I have worked with many nurses and as a mom for the past thirty-eight years I have had many encounters with nurses and doctors. I have experienced only kindness and professional treatment from everyone in the office. Dawn is outstanding as a nurse and came from Primary in Utah. She is sensitive, caring, and takes her time to explain everything in detail, going so far as writing down instructions. Dawn has spoken at the state Nurses Conference and is an experienced clinical nurse instructor. I have encountered Dawn in the community and she recognized us and she was friendly. We have talked in detail over the years about the needs of the developmentally disabled community and I am always impressed with her knowledge. She is a strong advocate and never hesitates to write letters to schools and other professionals to get the help needed for her patients. I would trust Dawn unconditionally with my child and any other child. I am sorry to hear that some people misunderstood and did not have their expectations met. Please do not let that discourage you from working with the clinic. The Treasure Valley is fortunate to have Dawn Powell DNP, CPNP-PC.

I expressed severe concern about my 2 year old child's mental health. After a year, the only suggestion we got was reading a book. Instead of seeing my daughter after she progressively got worse to address her autism; which was diagnosed immediately by another clinic. Dr Powell calls CPS because she could not even attempt to diagnose or have any suggestions to address the issues at hand. My child's prinary provider was shocked with her behavior and took over her mental care.

Very confused by all these 1 star reviews. We've been taking our 2 kids to see Dawn for years now (one for ASD and the other for ADHD). She always listens to our concerns about treatments and medication and has never brushed anything off. She has plenty of experience and education. Office staff is always friendly and usually scheduling appointments to fit our schedule is pretty easy (we've done plenty past 3pm) however we are usually scheduling them 6 to 12 months out.

My son has been going to see Dawn Powell for almost five years now and is doing so much better! I can't express how helpful and kind she has been and my son adores her!

We had the worst experience ever . The NP there Dawn Powell she is learning and she doesn’t have any experience and she pretty much tried medications with my son without any experience and he had bad symptoms. I gave it one star maybe just for the front desk ppl . Attention parents of autistic kids DONT GO THERE .
