was a patient here recently, and I found it was a great hospital. there were some things that didn't run as smoothly as I would have hoped, but it was addressed and fixed really quickly (pretty sure it was just a result of how new the hospital is, so it makes sense). the staff is caring and attentive, and you can tell that they like what they do and that they want to help you, never did a staff member make me feel like I was wasting their time or that they had something better to be doing. overall the experience was actually really helpful, which was more than what I expected going in.

I came to Cottonwood on a mental health hold. My husband was in the hospital at the time undergoing surgery. They lost my phone, so I couldnt get any numbers for it. I asked three different people to help me find out how my husband was, only one got back to me, and it took over 24 hours. When I got upset that they weren't trying to help me the only answer they had was sedation. When I would bring my laundry to get washed it could take hours to get it back. My social worker was initially friendly but became vindictive by the end of my visit, waiting to sign my dishcharge papers until late in the afternoon. Music therapy was good though and so was the food. But if you want a staff that genuinely cares and works with you to help, don't go here. Try to get into West Valley. Their program is the best, their people care, and they actually help you.

I was at Cottonwood 2 months after its opening. Was there for 20 days. STAFF- on time with getting us people to meals, on the ward staff would ask people what kind of drinks were wanted from the kitchen, ask what kind of snacks were wanted. Staff during group would ask what could be done to make the place better.I never had a promblem getting a phone from staff. I liked the A.M. staff a lot more then P.M staff. When I wanted my tub with hygiene stuff, I was given it. On the whole A.M staff was 1st.class. NURSES- the place was very new and they had to get a grove.the nurses had a incredibly small area to work out of, with a lot of people to give all kinds of medicine. I have serious juvinal diabetes, most of the nurses were very kind with this. There was 3 nurses that questionable, one of them started a argument with staff. Most of the nurses did what they could for me, I was incredibly sick from the diabetes, this not being a medical hospital, they did all they could including the doctors. I was very sick for 5 days, I seen a incredibly awesome doctor who was the only women doctor, she did everything she could for me, she also told the staff I did not belong at Cottonwood, I belonged in a medical hospital, she was right. SOCIAL WORKERS- did not like the one I had. She kept messing up my paper work, at one point called me the wrong person with the wrong promblem. I asked for a new person and got one. DAVID- deals with drug program, I don't have a drug problem, he is a scary person,he wanted me to sign a paper that was not right. I told him it wasn't me, and refused to sign it. He got very upset, all of this was done in front of staff. Staff did speak up for me. THE CLASSES- are pretty good, you go everyday, repeating them. PEOPLE STAYING THERE- on the whole most people there were funny, had a lot of information about others places. FOOD-the place does not have special food for people who have diabetes, or other promblems with food. BIG PROBLEM. DISCHARGE- was given a taxi to pick up medicine, and take me home. I was told they won't just leave you in the street. MENTEL HEALTH DOCTOR- the one I had talked with me for about 1 min. Everyday asked the same questions, the second week I was there went on vacation. I'm glade, I did not like him; the fill in doctor was good. I still would not like to go back to this place, or any other place.

I could not get any info on my sick friend, dropped him off at the hospital and heard nothing about how he is or even where, he could be dead for all i know, privacy rules are frustrating, i don't like them however a cottonwood rep did reach out to help address my frustrations and for that I appreciate it

My son suffers from depression and was placed here for a week. The staff was very caring and kind. I also initially worried that my son would be over medicated and not cared for but the treatment here was the opposite. He met with a doctor every day and a treatment plan was placed. My son says he feels that the people here cared about him and his future.

My son has battled with depression lately and has been at Cottonwood Creek twice now. I love the serene atmosphere & the friendly staff. No place is perfect by any means but Cottonwood is by far better than some alternatives.

I would give zero stars if I could. The admin and staff at this place are disconnected, can’t find their paperwork, extremely not helpful. After my relative was released and before any insurance was applied, and prior to 30 Days out, he was contacted saying if we pay now, within 24 hours, we’ll get a 20% discount. Huh? The amount we were told was the remainder on the bill that was submitted to insurance. I called our insurance provider and they were just about to pay it out. Remember, this was within 30 days! They asked him how are you going to pay for this, like a high pressure bill collector. I’ve never seen this type of harassment from a medical provider before. What’s even more disturbing is that they called the mental patient with this bogus offer and upset him immensely. Are they trying to get him back in there? I’m looking into lodging a formal complaint/lawsuit. You can’t mess with peoples minds like this. My advice: stay far far far away from this place. Go anywhere else.

I can’t believe how kind they were to me. I’ve been hospitalized before elsewhere and I was floored by the kindness and caring staff. The facility is clean, the food is great. Thank you guys so much for treating my healing brain like it mattered. ❤️ There is also Netflix- you can’t possibly go wrong with Netflix.

Was not a client inpatient, but did call to speak to admissions staff over the phone. I was immediately impressed with their "provider approach" of making me feel comfortable asking questions and not like I was taking up their time like other hospitals. They showed a sense of attentiveness while I shared, and even repeated what I said, that showed me they actually listened while taking notes. Overall, we ruled out me needing to come inpatient, but based on previous experiences, Cottonwood Creek Psychiatric Hospital will be an option in my mind the next time I find myself needing to reach out for help.
