My mother was a patient at Select recently for a few weeks. The staff was always friendly and welcoming. The service they provided was exceptional. Even after discharge, I was able to call and get assistance in the care of my mother. Thank you especially to Janet, the Director of Case Management, for taking time out of her busy schedule to assist me when I voiced concern about continuity of care for my mother AFTER her discharge from Select. Most facilities would not do this but Janet immediately went into action to investigate and resolve my concerns and I am forever grateful! I highly recommend this facility!

I could have not have a better hospital if i was searching for one for my Husband.The staff and Dr Gibbs and Yuri gave excellent care. Dr Hubert and Dr Petske were also excellent Doctors. Ms Carrie and Crystal in dietary was excellent. Ms Betty in housekeeping was the sweetest, And Ms Linda the CNA, and Jennifer the nurse, Ms Linda was great. No where can you can go and the CEO Rick Lowe comes to visit. The CNO Renee, Business lady Bridgette were always very nice and friendly. I highly recommend Select Augusta for your love ones care. Thank you to all the staff for everything!

My son has need a patient at select for the past 2 months. He was transferred here from AU health with a stage 4 bedsore. Our experience at select has need excellent. His wound is healing well and he will soon be on to a spinal cord rehab facility, which has been his goal. All the staff here has been very knowledgeable. Everyone at this facility has been so helpful and kind, I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of this type of care. Keep doing what you're doing, it's working

Every person we encountered at Select Specialty Hospital--from the receptionist to the dining service team, the case manager, housekeeping staff, nurses, aides and doctors--obviously viewed their work as a calling and their patients (and their family members) as valuable. My mother-in-law's every need was lovingly met. The staff engaged her in conversation and good-natured joking. Every question and concern was addressed promptly and thoroughly. (Kudos to Meg Harmon!!) We are so very grateful to have encountered this place and this team of people.

Wouldn't advise anyone to use this place for care, due to mis-information, hospital promised physical therapy, none was done unless complained. Wouldn't go there for treatment, tell you one thing and another will tell you something else. Bad communication.

I am so disheartened as to the type of care I've seen provided the last 3 hours I've sat in this hospital visiting with a patient. I don't know if hourly rounding or every two hour rounding is the criteria for this hospital but anyways neither exits. Even when you utilize the call light it takes forever for someone to respond and when they do some do not hesitate to show attitude. I have visited here before and didnt think so highly of what I witnessed then but this time around my heart aches. No turning and repositioning. No will you please step out so we can check to see if the patient has had a bowel movement. Some people do not need to be in healthcare. They are only here for the check not because they love and care about the patients. ☹

Don't EVER send anyone in your family here!!! They are terrible, rude, and don't know how to care for a wound.. In just 9 long days, my father wound was worse off then before arriving. I have never such an unprofessional hospital in my life. My fathers wound was so red and raw from the negligence of the staff. (Which by the way, was in not shape or form red or raw when he arrived). We had my father removed from this facility as quickly as we could. (Which by the way this so called hospital tried to stop that from happening, but their tactics didn't work with me)!!!! My family will be contacting a lawyer

My wife was in this hospital with a brain injury in the fall of 2004 while they were still located in the Georgia Medical Hospital. The service was great and her care was superb. I highly recommend this facility.

My husband has been a patient here for nearly a month. It has been the most serene, quiet and cleanest hospital we have ever experienced. As in any situation problems can arise and when presented and they did, they were meant with professionalism and courtesy. It was a humbling experience for us. It was especially comforting to know that at every level from the administration, to the house supervisor, and to the staff on the floor, our issues were resolved. There are so many good people here, working each and every day to make it better for our loved ones and I wish to personally thank them.

My son-in-law is currently a patient & their care has been less than stellar. He has waited hours to get a wet bed changed on more than one occasion. The nursing staff is scarce because they get sent home. The food is average at best. He is there specifically for wound care that’s supposed to be done twice a day & typically happening only daily by the floor staff. The wound care nurses, however, are good. He is somewhat confined to bed but not being turned at regular intervals. It’s just not been the experience we were expecting & that it should be. Update: My son-in-law & I were contacted by administrators within hours of posting this review. The patient care issues were discussed & we have been assured that they will be addressed with the appropriate personnel. I appreciate their immediate response & have upgraded my review to 3 stars.

If you can avoid it, please do not have your loved ones in this facility. The staff does not care and when you leave messages to return calls, you have to call back constantly to speak with someone. I called the Corporate Office in Pennsylvania and was able to speak with someone regarding the care that my dad has received here. Before coming to this facility, my dad was at Augusta University receiving exceptional care. Every time I called, someone was able to give me an update on his condition no matter if it was the same thing repeated earlier in the day. When you call Select to speak with someone (if you get them), it seems as if you're a burden. Customer service is important as well as your loved ones receiving great care while being hospitalized. If those things are important to you, STAY AWAY FROM SELECT!

My dad was recently sent here for care by the hospital . I was very apprehensive about the level of care and the process. As with all facilities, there are improvements that can be made, however Bridget was very helpful in addressing issues as they occurred. I was very involved in the process and despite my numerous calls and texts, Bridget was very understanding and addressed all concerns patiently. Tara, on the wound team was awesome and knowledgeable. He is home and doing well, thanks in part to the staff here.

After a bad experience in 2011 I was reluctant to come back to Select but I was assured that management and staff had changed since then. This time it has been wonderful.The people are so nice and are top-notch with your care,from the managers all the way to the people that clean your room.

My mother was recently at Select Specialty in Augusta. She received top notch care at Select. She went to the hospital on a ventilator with a bad prognosis but was weaned off the ventilator and was doing great in a little over a week. The nurses and staff were amazing and went over and above. Joanne in HR is awesome! My mother had just started eating again and wanted an orange crush. There were none in the hospital so Joanne sent someone out to get her an orange crush! She checked on my mom every day and was so friendly and caring. The nurse practitioner and doctor were wonderful too. Our case manager was informative and helped in my mother's transfer to a therapy facility. Thank you to everyone at Select Specialty for taking such good care of my mom!!!

This hospital here in Augusta Ga, is one of the best long term hospitals in GA, there staff are always respectfull to patients, their families and of course other staff members. The care that this hospital is great! If I had a choice8 between AU and Select specialty hospital I'd choose Select.

They do not do their job. My sister got worse and got other problems that she didn’t have before she went in. She passed away because of their neglect. I wonder how many come out of there alive. There was not a zero star to pick.

DO NOT ALLOW ANY DOCTOR TO SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS NEGLECTFUL FACILITY!!! They specialize in wound care they claim. After my father arrived with temporary wound packing for the hour trip to this place, the wound care team came in and said it was her weekend off and that she would do her assessment on Monday which caused fetal matter and bile to leak all over my Father's wound and all over him. She also refused to read any of his records from his original hospital. Upon arrival to this facility, his wound was almost healed. Night shift neglected him by not changing his dressing when it leaked all over him. He asked several times to send him back to his original hospital and they denied his right to be moved. Meanwhile, while I visited several times, nurses were very rude to other patients. I even have a video of staff listening to music at the nurse's station and giggling as loud as they could while neglecting patients who had been calling them. We move our father after only 9 days back to his original hospital. He was so neglected, his original doctor is now having to perform another surgery... I do want to hear any more any more excuses from Select. We met with the entire team and everyone there is incompetent. You promised he would be in good hands but you lied. My father was terrified thinking he would die in your care and he would have. It's bad enough that staff speaks horribly about each other. Don't respond to this review...you will be hearing from our attorneys.

I am being discharged tomorrow and I want to thank the entire staff and my discharge planner Laura Wright for all her help at my discharge. I would recommend Select Augusta for your care needs for long term care needs. It is a hospital with great Doctors and RNs.

Cannot even begin to put into words...I don't have enough space to even begin..my heart is broken because of the shape my dad is in after 3 weeks in this Hell hole. He was making good progress at hospital and was sent to this place for SO CALLED REHAB AND VENT WEANING(that he was off for 12 hrs doing good) but they put him back on vent for whatever reason and went down after 48 hrs at this place. Begged to get him out 3rd day in and the Dr lied to my dad's Dr and said everything was good.. My poor dad pleading for HELP. How these people can lay down and sleep at night..my dad after 3 weeks was in a coma dying we finally got him to ICU at a different facility they couldn't believe his condition. He is fighting for his life from the neglect, lack of nursing and Dr skills. I don't have the space to begin to tell our horror story. What I can say is GOD ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS AND WE GOT HIM OUT OF THERE AS HE WAS LITERALLY DYING! THANK YOU LORD! But damage has been caused from their neglect, laziness and lack of knowledge and greed for money. From what I'm reading about this place this the plan is to keep a patient from improving, keep them there for 25 days they collect money. HORROR, NIGHTMARE. MY POOR INNOCENT DAD....HOW CAN THESE IN-HUMANE individuals continue to operate? Read Select Specialty Hospital lawsuits same repeated patterns in all patients in all states. HOW MANY HUMANS HAVE TO DIE AT THE MERCY OF THEIR HANDS BEFORE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE? THEY ALL NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN...LOOK HOW MANY LOVED ONES HAVE BEEN PUT TO DEATH....PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!

Don't Put Your Family Member In Here. My Family Member Coded One Night Last Week No One Notified The Family; We Wasn't Aware Of Him Being Back On The Ventilator Until We Visit! Also As We Visit We Notice That He Had Large Amount Of Soil Due To Urine Being Left On Him And He Has An Catheter!!! We Haven't Talk To An Dr. NOR SEEN An Dr. SINCE He Been Here!!!!They Always Want To Call You Back When You Call For Question!!!

While I did not have to write this review, I felt I should tell my story to allow others, especially those with senior parents, to benefit from my experience. At the point my dad needed extended specialty care, investigated my possible solutions. Let me just say we received extraordinary care. Select seems to relate to both young and old. My dad and I were there for 6 weeks. The team of care givers we had were caring and very competent. The biggest difference was they worked with me. They have chosen medical professionals who show empathy not just sympathy for your loved ones. They seem to care enough to understand how difficult it is for the patient and they cared enough to go to extra effort to accommodate and help. They are not just a check the box organization. We were assigned a super doctor. Doctor Cato. He paid attention to every piece of info when making decisions. The nurses connect with people. Senior care is very difficult for the patients, the family, care givers and medical professionals. It is complex medical care and seniors need an advocate. . I am just an everyday non-medical individual trying to assess all of this and get my parents good care. It's overwhelming. The Select staff and hospital, made that possible for me. They are an extraordinary hospital with a great approach and great staff. They obviously have very good leadership. If you have to make a decision and Select is a possibility, I would highly recommend this hospital. Good care is very hard to find. You cannot be only a visitor. You must be a part of the team and Select seems to welcome this when others do not. If you plan to outsource the care of a loved one and become a visitor you will always find disappointment. Thank you Select for the excellent care.
