REVIEWS OF Piedmont Mountainside Hospital IN Georgia

Go to Piedmont Mountainside Hospital if you need a band-aid but if your really ailing this is the last place I would go . in short, my wife and I have given them 3 tries and 2 were misdiagnosed. Long waiting times to get back to ER and longer waiting times once you get there. Most are unprofessional and lacking in warmth including the people who handle complaints. Seems they want to explain how they did everything right and accept no responsibility for what went wrong. But they're always sorry I was dissatisfied with the services I received.

This is one of the worst hospitals I have ever had the displeasure of having to go into. Staff is lethargic and uninterested in their charges or their problems. Expect long wait times even with no patients being seen. Completely apathetic personnel and lack luster service. You're completely better off going on down to Northside Cherokee or to Kennestone.

Buster Ampleforth

good chicken tenders almost killed my mom, which was less than epic, I'd recommend Northside

It took over 6 hours for my nephew to get 4 stitches. He sat in the er with his head open and bleeding while others that were coughing and throwing up went ahead of him. Not to mention, there was only one Dr and he was not very kid friendly. It's worth the trip to Kennestone Childrens ER, trust me!!

Jennifer Matthews

my father in law was in the hospital and the nurses said that if he passes away that his grand kids and I could go back and no one came and got us to say goodbye to him. And I was risking my kids on getting the flu or any other kind of germs that's there. Plus the ICU waiting room bathroom was never cleaned I went back that morning early and the trash can was still full of paper towels and the toilet was nasty and the cups for the water machine was never refilled. we were there 5 days and we told someone and they said they will fill it and never did.

Bronson Kurtz

I came here for planned ankle surgery and all went well. They called me to be on time only to make me wait 40min The nurse claimed she was never called but I was literally there as the check in desk called. My nurse was also a smoker... Once we got settled in we had an excellent experience. The Nurses, staff and doctors were friendly and conversational. The anesthesiologist was humorous and respected my feelings. Next thing I’m awake and warm and cozy and delirious. So complains. Honestly the most irritating part was the smoking nurse. The drive here had no traffic, there was fee WiFi, rooms were decently big and lots of parking. So after today’s experience I would come back.

The wait time in the ER is ridiculous. Three hour wait with my daughter in severe head pain. That was just to make it to the back. If you have to come to this hospital call 911 and get an ambulance ride.Writing this review as we wait in the ER.This hospital sucks!!!!

NO customer services, extremely disappointing experience. Recommend people make the drive to Canton and use Northside. Issue: After doing substantial interaction with Piedmont to determine how much out of pocket costs would be incurred for a self-pay procedure, I was shocked when arriving at Piedmont Mountainside to find out my costs were going to be 250% more than quoted. I was first referred to Catherine Efford stating they would inform her of the issue and she would be in contact. She did NOT contact me and once I contacted her, she claimed she know nothing of my situation. Catherine stated she would contact me within 24 hours but NEVER heard from her again. I then contacted Wendy Topper, also at Piedmont Mountainside after being informed she was responsible for patient complaints. After forwarded her information, she also NEVER responded and only pushed my matter to someone else, Patton Childers, who was of no assistance. I thought that dealing with a small-town hospital would bring better customer services. Instead, all I received was finger pointing internally and pushing me between departments - all probably hoping I would just go away quietly. From my personal experience, Piedmont Mountainside had no certain whatsoever for my situation and provided zero customer services. As a result, they have already lost business from two other people we have referred to Northside, both of which received a high level of service and will NOT be using Piedmont for future services. Note to Piedmont: No reference is better than a bad reference. Remember that before deciding to not properly service your patients. I would give you zero stars but unfortunately Google reviews will not allow this.

SURGERY OUTPATIENT HORRID EXPERIENCE IN RECOVERY! Male nurse (NOT Chuck) handed me my clothes told me to get dressed & I can leave. Left IV needle in my arm. Never called my family. Never offered assistance to help get dressed with abdominal sutures! After dressed nurse offered NO assistance to car & had me WALK ALONE to car in parking lot after General Anesthesia!

Moshe Stein

I LOVE this hospital. I have never had anything but great service, and if I have had to wait in the ER, it is usually an extreme emergency that came in. Completely understandable and I would hope I would receive the same service if I had an emergency.

Ashley Miller

Slowest hospital ever. Nothing is treated as an emergency and you can tell no one cares about wait times. Sat waiting on triage for an hour and then even longer to go back. In the middle of the day. Wish the staff seemed to care more about doing their jobs

Maggie Genius

Never had to wait. Attention from multiple people at all times. I could tell they were concerned and wanted to solve my medical problem.

Ethan Allison

I have nothing but good things to say about the medical staff. They've always taken good care of me when I visited. However, get everything in writing when it comes to billing. I was told by two different people I'd only be paying $98 for an ultrasound which seemed reasonable - it was about as much as independent imaging centers I had been looking at. A month and a half after my procedure I received a bill for over a thousand dollars. Trying to find out why there was such a discrepancy and after talking to multiple representatives, someone finally told me that the $98 was just a "prepayment" and that there was no mistake in the billing. This would be a reasonable explanation if anyone had mentioned to me that it was just a prepayment and that the final cost would be higher, but no one had. When I tried to contest the billing I was basically told that unless I had a quote on the $98 price in writing, I would have to pay the full $1000. I requested a discount many times due to the poor communication and everyone I talked to said they were unable to do anything.

I had my daughter at this hospital almost 9 years ago and the maternity wing and nurses were amazing!!

THIS COUNTRY HOSPITAL IS A JOKE! I took my wife to the emergency room due to severe nausea. The receptionists were marginally polite. And, I must say Doctor Barrett, who had a Eastern European accent, was professional, however, the nursing staff was rude, ignorant, and unprofessional towards me. If I were not a man-of-color, I would have accepted said behavior as just what I stated. But, the nursing staff of Jackie and Shana were much more than ignorant, they were overtly racist, bigoted, and xenophobic. And, I do not use these adjectives lightly. The so-called healthcare workers were immediately unmistakably, unapolegetically hostile towards me. Before encountering medical evil, I had explained to the Eastern European Dr. Barrett that my wife has collapsed veins, therefore, it is routinely difficult to do an IV procedure. The Doctor assured me that nurse Jackie was an expert and would have no difficulty in performing said routine procedure. Immediately upon entering the room, nurse Jackie gave me the stink eye. Nurse Jackie did not greet and/or even acknowledge either my wife or I upon entering the emergency room. Since, I am a polite human being, I did the prudent thing, and greeted nurse Jackie with a proper salutation: " Good morning!" I got a lukewarm response. However, there was no human interaction, my wife, and in particular yours truly got the cold shoulder. I re-explained to nurse Jackie that my wife has collapsed veins, and neither my comments and or questions got as much as a head nod from Nurse Jackie. My phonetically perfect verbal requests were if as one was speaking to a concrete wall of desdain and contempt. I explained to nurse Jackie that my wife has a long history of difficulty getting the aforementioned procedure, however, my words were completely ignored and brushed off as if I was speaking in a foreign language. For the record, I am college educated, and speak three languages fluently: Hebrew, English and Spanish. In the meantime, RN Shana walks into the room with what I did not think was possible, an even more aggressive and hostile non-verbal communication than Nurse Jackie was displaying towards yours truly. Again, nurse Jackie and Nurse Shana must have received the same customer/patient training: Zero. No etiquette. No bed side manner. No humanity. Wow! I thought medical professionals were required to be immune to workplace prejudices and biases, however, they could not contain there overt racism towards me. After several unsuccessful, haphazard attempts, to insert iv needles, and my wife's agonizing sighs, I got up from my chair and told nurse Jackie to stop torturing my wife. I still got no answer and /or explanation. I supplicated with the fake healthcare workers to choose an alternate point of entry for the needle. But, again, my petition was ignored. Finally, as a methld of desperation, and after over 20 minutes of torture, I took out my cellphone and began recording my wife's agony. Then, and only then, did nurse Shana speak to me However, she only opened her mouth to chastise me to put my phone away and stop recording. I asked nurse shana why? And she replied that it (recording) was not allowed. Finally, I had their attention. Therefore, I asked what the standard operating procedure is for failed needle insertion (sticking) attempts was/is? Since my wife has been in the emergency room several times, I knew/know the protocol is two unsuccessful attempts. When I told the nurses to stop because nurse Jackie had exhausted and exceeded her failed two (2) attempts. Nurse Shana lied and said nurse Jackie had only 'stuck' my wife twice, but I saw her stick my wife trice. Subsequently, I asked nurse Jackie and nurse Shana for another healthcare worker to attempt the procedure. I pleaded for an (OR) operating room nurse, and finally nurse Jackie spoke and said: "our OR is not open." I repleaded with both nurses to find an alternate vascular point of entry, but was not given any explanation as to why they persisted in using my wife's lower left elbow for needle insertion. We received excellent care within 3 minutes of arrival. The on-duty Dr. (Dr. Atkins) was very caring, thourough and, knowledgeabe and thorough. The RN, Damon, stayed 35 minutes past his shift end to complete the job. The new RN, Anna, was wonderful, as well.

Deborah Edwards

My husband and I were on vacation, when he became ill. They made a bad situation bearable. Everyone was so kind. They went out of their way to make both of us as comfortable as possible.

Christina Tilton

I just delivered a little guy the other day. I've had to go up a couple times for care in Labor and delivery and emergency they were always nice, during the delivery they were amazing. The nurses were all kind, compassionate and caring, and dr supan was awesome. I especially enjoyed the nurse on nightshift, Roo, she really made me feel good about delivering there, made me feel "at home" and safe. Thanks to all the staff there. My only issue was the food haha, the food is ok, not the best, not the worst but a lot of hospitals are starting mommy and me meals after delivery maybe something piedmont should think about getting behind as well.

Toni Williams

Super nice hospital, for a hospital. Had to bring friend in and everyone was super. Very caring and professional. Big thanks to ER staff.

Samantha Talley

I hardly ever write reviews but I felt compelled to. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!! I took my son here when he was having what was later diagnosed as febrile seizures and a temp of 105. The doctor said he had a bad double ear infection (1 day later I was told one ear was a little infected) they then gave him motrin his temp came down to 103 so they discharged us with an antibiotic and Motrin prescription. I then had to take him to the pediatric ER in Kennesaw the next day because his fever would not stay down longer than 2 hours. Come to find out the Dr at Piedmont gave us the wrong dosage of Motrin. Save yourself the trouble and Go to Kennestone Pediatric ER or Children's healthcare in Canton!! Unless it is an absolute Emergency my child or I will not set foot in this place!!

Janice Kennedy

Horrible service at this hospital. Waited 45 min for a scheduled CT scan, asked why the wait and was told "one of our machines is down, it's ok, you can wait" with a laugh at my question. I walked out. Horrible service coupled with an infection rate 3X the local average, I'll take my healthcare dollars to a better facility. I'd suggest you do the same.

I went to ER with severe abdominal pain shooting down left leg. I already knew I had diverticula from a past colonoscopy. I had no insurance so I waited 3 days before going to ER . I suspected I had a Diverticulitis attack so I tried treating myself with liquid diet but pain was spreading. After informing them I had drove myself they ordered a CT scan. And gave me morphine. A Dr. Never seen me his assistant said he was in surgery so she examined me and said CT scan showed my appendix tip was inflamed so if must be adhesions from appendectomy but showed no Diverticulitis only diverticulosis. She referred me to a Surgeon Dr. Dua . She then sent me home which I had to drive myself after receiving CT contrast and morphine. I did question her diagnosis but she insisted it was only adhesions from appendectomy. I had to wait 2 wks in pain for follow up with Dr.Dua . He told me pain was in wrong place to be adhesions because my pain was in lower left abdomen and left leg. He said he couldn't help me which was $175 wasted for nothing. I finally went to Good Samaritan . Found out Diverticulitis doesn't always show on CT scan 3 days after the attack . Dr. Austin at Good Samaritan gave me the antibiotics I needed for the infection that was causing my pain. I suffered for 2 weeks in pain and lost 12 lbs from not able to eat because of misdiagnosis from Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. I'm very lucky I was able to drive home after they gave me the morphine. If I had insurance I'm sure they would've admitted me and had a Dr. Examine me instead of a assistant. I'm lucky also I didn't get staphus because of not getting Antibiotics for 2 weeks. I do not recommend this hospital at all. They didn't care at all about me.

Among the best medicals service in northern GA.

Angie Pattillo

Best hospital ever!!!

Mrs. Amanda Laxson

The wait is kinda ridiculous and one specific er nurse, not naming names but SHE is horribly rude and disrespectful completely unprofessional!!

Michael Mills

The wait time is only long because there are so many methed up hillbillies trying to score pain pills from doctors.

Be careful with this hospital. Getting good care here can be hit or miss.

I have visit the Piedmont hospital a few times, once over kidney stone pain, ( piedmont claimed I didn’t have) 2. Over my a broke foot ( piedmont also said I didn’t have) 3. My dislocated knuckle, and they calimd a bruised it.. all these were rechecked by a different hospital and found other wise. Now this time with my boyfriend we have waited 2 hours for someone to come see us for back and knee pain. Once doctor finally showed up he told us nothing was hurt and he was fine. Offered to him give some NSAIDs for pain turns out he had a crush disk in his back. Staff also took forever to get anyone down here for assistance... I doubt I will return.... unless they improve service and get better doctors who will actually treat the problem....

Heather Snelson

I spent the past three days here due to the flu, and other fun things that go with pregnancy. The labor and delivery nurses are the best I’ve ever been around. Very loving nurses who really care for their patients. I’m excited to deliver my baby here...thank you all so much for helping me get better

My husband had a pacemaker put in and all went well. When he was discharged at 9;30 am it took what seemed to be all day. Not on top of things. When I called to put in a complaint they didn't have the courtesy to call back when I left my number. Not good pr...

ANSLEY TUll

Not a bad hospital. Staff was nice, but all of them wear jeans. Too casual, jeans are not professional for a hospital. The check in staff, and a nurse were gossiping very load. Radiology staff was very nice.

The Woman's Unit here is the best! I was hospitalized for 1 week December 2016 for Galstones while pregnant and gave birth to my fist child here March of 2017. I heard so many horror stories from friends about giving birth at other hospitals. I felt nothing but comfortable and cared for at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Thank you!

Miranda Kendall

Very helpful and friendly

Taylor Beasley

Hands down, the best ER care I have received in my life.

Crystal Comeau is not a doctor that I would ever want to see again. She wasn't truthful about the situation and state that our family member was in. Decisions were made based on that and because of this, it took precious time with our loved one away from our family. Your facility is only as good as your doctors. I do have to say that most of the nurses on the floor and in ICU were good, but they can only do so much.

Rose Ortega

This place is ridiculous! I am literally throwing my guts up in the waiting room and no intentions of getting me back to a room. There is no customer service! This place does not care about their patients! I have been sitting here for about an hour and when my daughter went to ask how much longer... They stated that there are a couple of people ahead of me and it will be another hour. I am the only one here that is in obvious pain and discomfort. Still no service!!! (My daughter is writing this for me, as I am too sick.)

JULIA SICKAFOOSE

The ER is a joke! Someone should tell them the E stands for emergency not sit for 4 hours till they get around to helping. Literally sat for 4 hours till my pain overtook me and I passed out. The most horrible experience. PEOPLE BE WARNED!!

Beth MCCullough

Best hospital I have ever experienced. We will never be able to express enough gratitude for the care my Dad and our family received.

Tony Davis

This hospital sucks I'm writing on my bfs profile bc he can't write bc he sat there lastnight with his finger cut by a saw bleeding for 3 hours before 10 people waiting before him got up and left he decided to leave canton is so much better at least they would have let him bleed to death in a room

Run for your life !! Long waiting room wait on very slow night. Blood on the floor in room 8 in Er. Young nurse (Rachael) had little interest shown In patients. Spent 7 hrs in ER just to get blood drawn & have 5 minute CT scan. AT CONCLUSION OF VISIT, Dr said nurse will review instructions for coming days concerning gallstones. NURSE NEVER MENTIONED. When I asked for paper work she laughed and said I never read these things & have one idea what they say! Most people I know in Jasper warned me to avoid mountainside hospital....now I understand!.

Bridget Coburn

We had to bring our 2 year old with a cut on his leg due to CHOA being closed and we had amazing service!! As soon as we walked in they took us back right away and the nurses and all the staff were so good with our son and patient!! The nurse even let my son wash his leg after the nurse did!! I would recommend this hospital to everyone!!! Exceptional service!!!!

Absolutely a perfectly run operation. Incredible staff, super organized, and wonderfully efficient. Can't say enough about how fortunate we are to have such a conveniently located, top shelf hospital.

Absolutely abysmal care of a cancer patient who is in need of care until he can be seen by a new GP and Oncologist in town, both of which are saying he has 2-3 month waiting periods for new patient appointments. He has now missed 3 rounds of chemotherapy because of this, and his tumor is growing back. He is scared it's going to grow past his throat, into his nasal cavity, and into his brain. Despite new symptoms, fear he is getting a second bout of phenomena, and that his feeding tube is infected, they would not refill any of his medication, said they couldn't obtain his medical records when I gave them names and addresses for all his previous doctors, and said "He's probably better off moving back to where he previously lived". They didn't check his lungs and would not refill any of his medications. It was clear they couldn't get him out the door quickly enough.

Marcia Duncan

I took my sister to the ER last night, every one were very nice and friendly. Gavin in registration was excellent, also the PA and nurse were also. In and out in 11/2 hours. Thanks

We came through here on out way back to Atlanta from apple picking. My pregnant wife overdid it an we had a mild emergency related to the pregnancy. The women's center nurses where nice and provided excellent care.

Overnight stay in ER was not pleasant due to unfriendly people with exception of one person who was kind to me that’s why I gave two stars… I was mostly ignored and uncomfortable. Also there was this heavy set Afro-American lady (NY) who was toxic, rude, and condescending.... don’t know why she was there? Seems that she was some sort or “counselor” for lack of better description, if this was the case, God help us all!! This hospital was awful and I won’t go back. If you have to go, I hope your visit will be better!

This is the worst hospital ever! It is nothing more tha a "roadside medical stand". If you check in, you'll check out with a toe tag on!

Maureen C. Allen

Top medical care--ER, Inpatient, Surgery--and the most caring, skillful nurses on the planet! Trust Piedmont Mountainside; they've got your back (and everywhere else!).

Maggie Evans

We have been waiting for more than 3 HOURS in the WAITING ROOM!!!! Still not getting called back to see a doctor! This is not acceptable and is not safe for an ER to allow patients to wait without being at least re-triaged. Apparantly, if you come in by ambulance, you get priority, no matter what the complaint. Unreal!!

Moe Long

I had to bring my cousin and her husband here. I know E.R. visits usually have an annoying wait time, but he was in excruciating pain. We were there for over an hour and a half and he still never received medicine for pain. There was NO customer service. All of the staff were rude. There weren't any concerns for the patient. Absolutely awful experience. From now on I guess we'll just use Northside Canton.

Charlene Goode

I talked a friend of mine into going out to get his hand and arm checked because he can't even move it... they wrapped it in some gauze and gave him Motrin 800mg which he has already been taking with no relief that's the only reason I finally got him talked into going... They would not give him ANYTHING stronger so MAYBE he could get some rest they had rather see somebody loose their job's and not be able to get insurance so they could have surgery done on it to fix it... This place does not care about it's patients and I will NEVER recommend anybody I know to go to that place again.... I wouldn't trust them with my dog!!!!! Thanks for nothing!!!! But I bet you will be making sure to send a bill for doing NOTHING to help him....hopefully you will have to sit around watching a loved one of yours in that much pain to be told take some Motrin... that you told them don't work and they loose their job because they would not help you... Shame on y'all!!!!!!!

Came in with an emergency with my pregnancy. They kept me in a waiting room with people with the flu for over 2 hours. Ended up miscarrying while waiting to see a doctor or nurse.
